The Hidden Kingdom (Wings of Fire Graphic Novel #3): A Graphix Book

My daughter LOVES these books!! She's plowed through the first 3 in 3 days...a book a day. She can't put them down. Definitely would recommend them!

Still not a fan about how some scenes are cut out of the graphic novels, but as a whole, this one has been my favorite for a variety of reasons. Firstly, Glory is my favorite WOF character of all time, and anything that includes her is better (I promise I'm not rating the book on this, though, lol). The story felt a lot more streamlined than the previous two graphic novels, almost as though the creators finally figured out what scenes are the least important to the plot and are removed compared to The Dragonet Prophecy that would remove parts of scenes and wrap up said scene with no explanation as to how the dragons got there or what was happening. The internal monologues in this compared to The Lost Heir were better, but that could also be in part to how much of Tsunami's story was in her head compared to Glory's. The artwork still isn't the best, but between some of the gorgeous scenes from The Lost Heir and now the full-page spreads from The Hidden Kingdom, I think I appreciate it more. Is it my favorite comic adaption of something I love ever? No. I still think the Warriors manga are some of the best, but that's also because they create new stories, not recreate old ones. It's hard to have a comic/manga adaptation of a book and not compare them. I do think Wings of Fire would have been better if the comics were strictly new content or even the Winglets in comic form. As it is, will I continue to buy these? Obviously. I want the whole first series since it is the best that the WoF universe has to offer.

My fault it does say that,I was disappointed I thought it was a regular reader but I am going to keep it, the pictures are really nice my granddaughter likes art but she wanted a reader. She will be okay with this book I hope. Update she actually loves it.

Our preteen is obsessed with the WOF series. This book did not disappoint her! (Said) Best graphic novel yet!

I bought it to get my son something he might look forward to reading by himself now that he's learning and the story is both exciting but "educational" for him, the themes are maybe a little too adult (not in a bad way, sometimes I have to explain some things he might miss or parse the wrong way) but it's definitely a hit and we have been reading about a 5th of each book per night. Too bad we finished the third and there's no 4th out yet.

I got the first book at my grandson's School Book Fair, to encourage reading. (1st grade) The cartoon like pictures caught his attention. I read it to him, and he follows along with all the characters much better than I do! We're on the 4th book now & he can't wait until I order the next one.

My 7 year old daughter loves these books. She's not quite able to read the full novels yet so this has been a perfect way for her to dive into the WoF series. She's read all of the graphic novels many times and we can't wait for the next one to come out.

My son loves these books. He got this as a reward for doing well in school. He finished in a day. This series has really helped him develop a love of reading. He's now anxiously awaiting the next installment!

Purchased for my daughter. Pages stuck together from what appeared to be water damage to several page in the second half of the book. When I very gently separated the pages, the text got ruined. Very disappointed.

This was purchased as a gift for my grandson. He has enjoyed reading Book #1 and #2 so I bought him #3. He was happy to receive it.

a great story line and vibrant illustrations! This is a must read for any hard core WOF Fan and great way to get started on The series that will keep you hooked! my little sister who refuses to read anything to long stays up hours every night reading WOF books now!

An excellent short read for 3rd grade and beyond... Be cautious of some cartoon violence, however, nothing as alarming as most "socially acceptable" video games...

Hello, and I am a fifth grader. I bought this book and I read it, like, a hundred times and I have never gotten away, being bored. Tui. T Sutherland is just one of my favorite authers. It looks like to me that the only blood part is the dead mudwing soilders. I will HIGHLY recomend this book to other fifth grade students. I just love the part when Granduer accidently spat venom on Kingkaju. It's not funny, I have to tell you, but what I'm trying to say is that I just love heroic parts of books! When my mom asked if I wanted to get the Wings Of Fire 1~8, I IMMEDIATELY said "YES!!!!!!!!" I strongly recommend that fifth graders should read this and I strongly believe that no mean and rude comments about the book or Tui. T Sutherland should be put up, just keep that thought to yourself, please. I am just so moved. ANYONE WHO AGREES THAT THIS BOOK AND TUI.T SUTHERLAND IS AWSOME AND THAT NO MEAN COMMENTS ABOUT THE AUTHER OR BOOK SHOULD NOT BE ALOUDED, PUT THIS WAS HELPFUL. I'm really enjoying this graphic novel series! I don't know that I would like them as much if I hadn't read the books, but hopefully these work in the opposite direction, too, driving kids to the full books if they love the graphic novel.

I took my Goddaughter to the store and told her to pick out whatever she wanted for Christmas. She picked out a "Wings of Fire" graphic novel. One of her friends at school had one and she really liked it. From the moment we left the store she didn't put it down! Now I've gotten her all three of the "Wings of Fire" graphic novels! I also got her a "Celtic Dragon" necklace, a bunch of art supplies and a book that teaches you how to draw dragons!

Gorgeous , gorgeous, gorgeous. SERIOUSLY, like, if you haven't already read this a million times , you should . Glory really can't stop being Queen now. And Tui T. ,don't stop making graphic novels or books!

My daughter has read the first 13 books and 2 of these graphic novels and so far, this is her fave!

My daughter says, “I am 8 years old, and I love this book. It’s fun because it’s not as scary as the others. If you think dragons are fun, you will like this book. There are adorable sloths that the dragons keep as pets. If you don’t like the blood in pictures, this is not a good book for you.”

This is a must read for any Wings of Fire fan! It's colorful, well drawn, and fun to read! The authors did a great job of making the story easy to understand, as well as accompanying it with the prettiest graphic novel art ever.

Glory’s tale is well thought out and enjoyed this book the most . Loved it!

The pictures are absolutely beautiful. This is the third book in the series so make sure to get the others before this! After reading the normal books this was great to see what the author envisioned everything looking like. 10/10!

this book was great, even tho these books are shord so I use them to draw.recomend for most elementary students, but the first part may be a lil scary.

Amazing, My son has all I think, 22 books? He is waiting for the new “Dragonslayer” book to come out. He loves this series (honestly a little too much, he makes things called “ships”) and was so happy when I got this for him.

this book was not only a great comic for the wings of fire series but the art was really beautiful and defined each character with many different personalities and just really brought out the opposite of boring.

Usually comic book representations are bad and not what you would expect, but this one was good and I enjoy it almost as much as the book

My oldest daughter is obsessed with Dragons and Dinosaurs. This series or graphic novels are just what she was looking for, We got her book 2 awhile back and had to get the rest. She has read them all several times now and still continues to enjoy them. Highly recommend for any fantasy/comic book lover. :)

My kids have read all the books and can't wait to get the next one. But amazingly, they ALSO love these graphic novels - even though they are not 100% identical to the books. They can't wait for more to come out!
