In the beginning of this book, I was confused, but curious as to where this book would lead. I knew that it would follow Starflight’s journey, but how it would tie into the beginning storyline was a mystery. As with every book, it has been an excellent journey getting into the mind of the dragon focus for the book, in this case Starflight. I loved reading about the choices he was battling in his head and feeling that conflict of where loyalties lie after being captured and held prisoner by his own tribe. Much is revealed in this novel and I do not want to risk giving any spoilers, but know this is one novel that you do not want to miss!

Usually checked out or on hold at libraries I’d be queued but she’s need the next one now for school log so I had to start buying the paperbacks

I'm reading this series with my 8 year old. I love them as much as she does. The characters are interesting and I love that as the dragonets grow up and have experiences in the stories they learn how to be better dragons. They have good life lessons on humility, love, loyalty, etc. I can't wait to read more.

I have been watching my daughter enjoy these books for years. These along with the Warrior Cats have been such a joy for her. WE will continue to read and treasure them. My issue I will mention it here, iis the delivery. We have at least one person who simply does not know how to deliver. Last night I was texted that he was on his way. I looked at the map because it was late and saw he or she was only 2 or three stops away. I actually sent my daughter out to wait for the book. It never came. Then it came to me that an issue had come up. what issue. We are never told. This happens repeatedly. If I did not pay for 2 day delivery I would not care, but I pay every month for 2 day delivery. I fail to see how a delivery person could not make one more delivery being 2 or 3 stops away. I try to get ahold of Amazon but they only allow one or two ways and comments to make. I pay for this service I should have every effort made to deliver my purchases when I expect them. Or at least offer free two day delivery for actual free. I believe after next month I will buy more at the local stores book and other stores. If Amazon allows my review to be posted (a whole other issue) I hope you will understand I do not dislike the book or the seller it is the delivery that I am having issues with.

I've been looking for a book about dragons. Not dragon riders, dragon slayers, or a girl who get's sent to a dragon's lair by her Aunt. I wanted a book about dragons. However, when I found this series, I didn't expect it to be any good. I was proved wrong. This book is in the point of view of Starflight the NightWing. In a world where the dragon tribes are at war, a prophecy has been delivered. Five dragonets will come and stop the war. A SeaWing, a SandWing, a MudWing, a NightWing, and a SkyWing. They were to hatch on the brightest night, and, in their eighth year, stop the war. Starflight has been taken by the NightWings. Again. And Morrowseer is not happy with him. At all. It doesn't help that his friends don't know he was taken, and think that he left on his own. Also, Starflight is not the fighter of the bunch. He's the bookworm. The nervous one, the one who has a huge crush on Sunny and has no idea how to tell her. He is also now my favorite of the group. This book is the best one in the series so far. It's full of twists and turns, including an alternet group of prophecy dragonets (who were not hatched on the brightest night), a young NightWing, Fatespeaker, who has a huge crush on him (That Starflight doesn't notice), a father, Mastermind, who happens to be the one leading the 'research' on the RainWings, which involve handcuffing them to walls and binding their mouths shut so that they can't spit their poison, and a queen that no one ever sees. Starflight also finds a dreamvistor, which is an animus-touched object that allows a dragon to enter another dragon's dream. (Turns out, Clay does dream about food. Like, lots and lots of food) Again, like the last one, I have no problems with this books. Starflight is a cute and nervous narrator, and it's interesting knowing his thoughts. It was also left on a bit of a cliffhanger, so it leaves you eagerly waiting for the next one.

I bought this book for my grandson and he loves it. He is in love with this great series.

Great series of books!

This is a great book series. I fill like that this is like a mix of Game of Thrones and MLP: FIM. It has all of the fights and drama of game of Thrones but with clean language and good morals and messages.

Honestly, i think this is the best wings of fire book i've ever read. Starflight gets taken by his own tribe, and the NightWing Kingdom is quite terrible. And, now, at Part Three, there's this, "the truth" and the truth is, the prophecy was fake. it was completely made up, yeah. at least, that's what Morrowseer said. and, yeah. but don't lose hope! i didn't. and, yeah, anyway. the end wasn't a "happy ending". still, Starflight made one friend in the NightWing Kingdom. And thats Fatespeaker. i would give this 5-star because Starflight DID warn Glory. so, good evening!

Has a few little scuffs on the outside cover but other then that looks brand new

This is a good book, I read it fairly quickly, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Wings of Fire series. Honestly, though, this is not my favorite of Sutherland's works. I found it a bit....not boring, but not exactly my favorite book. It DOES clear up a lot stuff, and I REALLY love the 'poetic justice', as Sutherland puts it, of (SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT) the "all powerful" NightWings bowing to the "useless" RainWings. That just goes to show that just cause you're a bit lazy and un-involved in certain things does not mean that you are weak. My favorite part is probably when the RainWings invade. Like, DUDE, that was awesome. I really admire Tui T. Sutherland for creating such an amazing series. It is well written, fun to read, and overall just awesome. This isn't my favorite of the series, yeah, but I still highly recommend it, especially if you want to continue the Wings of Fire series. Believe me, it only gets better from here! By B.K.

I liked how the Author wrote the story, as if you were the character IN the setting. I disliked how some of the same events keep happening throughout the story, I feel it needs a new twist. Like something we’re not expecting to happen. I definitely would recommend this book to my amazing friend. (Even if she’s read it already.) I chose this rating because the story didn’t play how I exactly I thought it would. It was a great book, but there were definitely some parts that could be changed.

My granddaughter loves these books. She couldn't wait until this book arrived. When she opened the package the book pages were folded and bent. She was devastated. I couldn't believe how much that bothered her. I told her all the words were still there and it was fine. Funny what can set a kid off :)

This book is a great book. Starflight is taken to the secret home of the NightWings. There are prophecy dragonets that are not hatched on the brightest night. Starflight must choose between his tribe or his friends. Starflight has a secret crush on Sunny. Starflight is one of my favorite dragons in the series. He is funny but also smart. So what first got me into Wings of Fire was when I was looking for a book about dragons. Not just any dragon, but one that wasn't about slaying dragons, or taming dragons. I wanted one with a dragon as the main character, and a dragon as the sidekick. So that is how I found out about this series. I hope you enjoy this book and make suru to check out Wings of Fire book 8

One of our younger readers LOVES this series. This is the fourth part of the story and the dragonets have some volcanic action on their hands - are they indeed the dragonets from the prophecy? If your kiddos enjoy the Warriors series or any sort of fantasy reading, they will love Sutherland's Wings of Fire series. These are probably better suited for the later elementary years as the dragons do commit murder and the humans in the story are mere pillagers that are seen as simple snacks by some dragons. Nothing is too graphic or too violent, but those more sinister elements are involved in the story and could be too scary for a first or second grader.

Giving it 5 stars because my daughter who used to just want to play with her electronics put them aside to read this entire series.

Our daughters love these books, including this one. They say the writing flows very well, easy to read, great adventures and they breezed right through the series. They can't put these books down! Highly recommended. (Our daughters started reading these when they were eight; one is now nine and the other ten. They have read all of the series including the Warriors series, Wings of Fire series, Seekers series, and Survivors series). They did not like the Survivors series at all. Our daughters did not like the Survivors series because they felt that all the characters were too similar to each-other and the plot appeared to be unorganized and missed it's meaning completely, (vague, confusing plot). In addition, my daughters state that the characters in Survivors appeared to be whinny and undesirable (difficult to connect with).

This book goes into the Nightwing histories and it is so sad at the end but very well written and a great 4th book leading up to the final 5th in the first 5 book saga. Just be prepared to feel REALLY sorry for the characters this time around

Wings of Fire is one of my favorite series. Starflight is just so funny, all worried and cautious and hopelessly in love with Sunny. Fatespeaker is a great new character, and I love her. She has so much faith in her visions, it's sort of weird. I am so glad that Morrowseer died in the end, because when there is multiple characters to hate, at least two of them have to die, even if it is over the span of multiple books. I couldn't help feeling like Fatespeaker, all sad when Squid got banished and when Viper died. I did NOT feel sorry for Morrowseer, however! He had it coming! Tui Sutherland is a great author, because she makes you laugh and cry and read her books over and over and over.

Great just like all the books in the series. My twelve year old boy can’t get enough of them. We read them at bedtime and it has been great to bond over.

This book was excellent. The only problem I had with it was that the other friends did not show up for most of the book, only the end. Here you meet the fake dragonets of destiny, which all died I think except Fatespeaker the NightWing and Flame the SkyWing. Starflight's father also appears in this book. I loved the way all the night wing secrets were exposed to the reader in this book. One thing that I was wondering about was the guide in the front- why didn't they update it to say Queen Glory of the RainWings instead of Queen Dazzling( who is not queen anymore), and there was a new SkyWing queen, so why not say that? Great book, and will continue to read the series.

What a good book. The series just gets better and better. This one is very good versus evil. We learn more about the mysterious Nightwings. We also watch as the dragonets grow and mature.

The Dragonettes of Destiny are surrounded by enemies and incompetence. If only fulfilling a prophecy was simple. Night Wings are using Rain Wings for science experiments and all the other clans are on power trips.

Great book. This was one of my favorites. Getting to know Starflight a little more was interesting. He grew a lot in this book. Each book gets more interesting. Not quite as violent as the others either.

My 9 year old absolutely raves about this series. I thought he'd be obsessed with the Percy Jackson books for a few more years, and was shocked he finally found a series he loves more! That is just the highest compliment coming from him. He loves the changing perspectives each book offers, the action and excitement. This is a wonderful book series full of friendship and adventure!

Ok , the end made me confused, is the prophecy fake or real, it left so so confused but otherwise it was a great read

My 11 year old daughter really enjoyed this book, and has read several in the series. It has some scary parts, it has made her furious, and made her cry at sad parts. She has never been so engaged with a story line. I believe this book has helped increase her vocabulary and stretched her reading skills in a good way.

This book is a good one because there is NOT a graphic novel on it yet.It is a good book,however,it does contain a lot of violence.

This book is has more gore then the other books and it definitely got darker. I mean seriously THE LAVA QUEEN LUNGED AT GLORY AND DIED AT HER FEET. It would have received 5 stars but the two flaws I found in this book was that until the end it was similar situation every time there was action. The book was also filled with to much romance. Great Book, My daughter can't even put it down! Also, It came in great Condition!

I had just finished reading book 12 and wanted to read all the books again to refresh my memory but I thought that even though I loved it the first time I read it this couldn't be nearly as good as 11 or 12. I was wrong!! Still a great book!! Not as good, but still good!!

This was a Christmas gift.

My 9 year old son brought the first book home a couple of months ago and we can not get again enough of this fun story. We have actually have book 5 on pre-order as it does not come out until the end of this month. It is a great read, like the first three, it makes you not want to put it down. In fact my son and I read every night before bed and he is always disappointed when the half hour is up. I definitely recommend this series to anyone that enjoys a great and original story of all ages.

My 6 year old Granddaughter loves dragons. She picked The Wings of Fire because of the covers. I have been reading this series to both of my Grandchildren (11yrs and 6 yrs) and are enjoying the adventure. I really like the development of each dragon's personality, back story and the way they have become a "Family". Looking forward to Book Five.

Wow so much happened. I still am wondering where few things went (that blue Crystal). Fatespeaker and starflight are perfect for each other. Sad that no sure was found for the night wing queen. (Peril could of saved her maybe?) Wonder where Peril is. Well on to book 5 I believe. Loving the series so far.

Bought it for my 11 year old daughter and ended up reading it. I love the story and cannot wait to read the rest of the series.

I assumed this 1-4 set were different than the originals, like another story line or something because of the difference in the covers. They are not different, except the cover. She now has 2 each of the first 4 books because I'm a dummy and she still wanted to keep them in her collection.

This book has given me a whole new view of the timid Starflight. Although the story can get slow at times, it is one of my favorite books in the series. The story left me with Starflight being one of my favorite characters!

The book is great. I am a big fan of Wings of fire series. But, in my opinion, the book is kind of a transition book between the 3th book and the 5th. You won't really understand what is going on in the book if you didn't read book 3.

There's a cliffhanger here...can Sunny, the smallest, defenceless dragonet have hope for a rescue? Can the two tribes get along together so they may both flourish? And what about Starflight? He is so injured! Could the Prophesy be fake, like Morrowseer says? I am so excited to find the answers, I'm onto the next book in the series!!

Love this series. Started out reading it with the grandsons over the summer to make sure they understood what they read. Turned out I fell in love with the ideology behind the story of true friendship, honesty, loyalty and democracy. Light easy and intriguing

I have no idea what these books are about and am completely lost in dragons with weird names that seem to act like teenagers when my daughter tells me about them but she’s really enjoying it!! So we bought the first next six to go with the first she got awhile ago.

This is the best book ever i love it!!!, when i started reading it it was because i like dragons and now when ever i read it i make sure i have 2 or 3 of them because i know i will finish them both that day. Cant wait in tell the sixth one come out. Tui is a great wrighter and i also like her book in the spirit animals series!!!

The Wings of Fire series continues to be mine and my daughter's favorite bedtime reading books. In Book Four: The Dark Secret, you meet new characters and learn many of the secrets of the mysterious Nightwings. The storytelling continues to be outstanding as the Dragonets of Destiny are evolving into the powerful dragons that have been foretold from the prophecy...or are they? A late plot twist has the dragonets questioning themselves and everything they've ever known about their true destiny.

I found that this one was a little bit slow. It wasn't Tui's best work, and my least favorite in the series. But do not get discouraged by my review, for I kept reading and have now almost finished the series, loving every minute of my time reading it!

My grandson loves this series. As an 11 year old he has been required to read A LOT during the school year. Even though he would rather be doing something other than read, these books he never complains about, always anxious to read the next book in the series. He tells me they always end where one wants to know what comes next. Unfortunately for him, he has to read other genres as well.

My son started this series and loves it!! He has read 4 books in less than three weeks and is begging me to order the remainder of the series. He is reading each night instead of watching TV!! No other books have held his interest like these have. He is 10 years old and this mother is so proud he is reading so much!!

Can't say enough about the story lines and how they pulled him in to read. He was never one to voluntarily pick up a book, he always wanted to chose one based on 'short' length. I have read this series and my 7 year old daughter is almost through book three now. These are great books for budding AR readers to get their point on. They have a great story line and are not inappropriate for younger ages. can't wait for the newest book to come to our home!

This is a great book acording to my kids. They love it. I am only on book 1 so i dont know. What I do know is that my kids will sit and read this series instead of watching tv and have made up fantstic imaginary games about the stories. It is seven years later and my kids now older teens are still reading this series and the graphic novels.

This book took me a while to finish. I like the idea of the dream visitor and how Queen Battlewinner could go in lava because of a frostbreath from an icewing.

Great pacing and honestly it was good to get the story from Starflight's perspective...even if he's a self important coward lol. If your already a fan of the series this book definitely does not disappoint.

My son has enjoyed these books (so far) which were recommended by multiple people. He is a strong reader and the local library can't keep pre-teen books in stock without a waiting list so we have had to purchase several to keep up with his voracious imagination! The last set of books which had him enthralled was Suzanne Collins: Gregor the Overlander (The Underlander) series of books.

I bought this gift for my 12 year old grand daughter she wanted to read the entire series. She loves the book and hopes to read all of them.

Tui T. Sutherland is a fantastic author who likes to look at the magical side of things. Tui has created just another master piece. I loved this book and all the books in this series that I have read so far. I am positive kids will like it. And maybe some of you adults(I'm talking to anyone over 13 who liked this book and reviewed it)out there will like it too.

This book is full of action and adventure it will make you suspended on every page, the quality is unbelievable I would read this 100 times if I could. I give this a 5 because it was just another good read from Tui T. Sutherland who is an amazing author by the way.

I am so impressed with this series! This book will have you breathless at times. The pacing is still going strong from book one all the way through the end of this book. The ending was spectacular

This book was the best! You finally get to learn about the Night Wings. I liked this book because it grabbed you on the first page (and in my opinion the other didn't). I would recommend this book to anybody who read the first three and who has a love for dragons! CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This book was for my son. He had read the other books in the series. Book came on time and as described. He enjoyed reading this as much as the others in the series.

This Book was truly amazing! I just didn't really like the awkwardness of when starflight told sunny that he loves her. I mean,seriously, get on with the fighting (wow, I sound like Tsunami!) Like glory said, don't be so... sappy. Other than that this book was great, and I can't wait until the fifth book comes out!

My daughter loves this series! She is an advanced reader and we've had a hard time finding appropriate books for her. She has been reading every spare second since discovering this series.

Glory,Tsunami,Clay, and Sunny think Starflight left but really Morrowseer took him. Starflght finds out that in battle the queen of the nightwings got ice breath or whatever in her throat so she has to live in lava! Spoiler her name is queen Battlewinner. At the end Glory agrees to the nightwings living in the jungle with the rainwings.

Aside from book three, this is one of my favorites in the series! I still left with quite a few questions about the NightWings, but some of those questions were answered later along, so keep trucking through! It's worth it!

This series is wonderful for my 10 yo and for her mom! Both the written books and the audio books are great.

Love these books

My six year loves these books. They are a more advanced reading level but keep him engaged while I read aloud, that's a small miracle in our house

This part of the series concentrates on the Nightwings and their secrets as the dragonets get closer to their objective of ending the war. It was nice seeing how Starflight deals with his inner fears and insecurities to find his courage.

Absolutely love these books. My 9 year old son kept talking about them so I started reading them too. We both enjoy them.

We pre-order these books each time they come out! My daughter loves them and reads them over and over. Her reading level has always been very advanced and this series offers a more challenging read, while keeping with a story-line that isn't too mature. Can't wait for the next one to be released!

Great book just like all the others in the sereis, can't wait for book five! Didn't start off as exciting as the others but over all just as great. Would recommend to anyone that enjoys adventure and fansty. I don't think this particular book should be read before the others because it metions things that happend in the other books.

The fourth book of winds of fire was amazing I love how Starflight met Fatespeaker. He was being so brave and he didn't even realize how brave he was. I think Starflight had feelings for Fatespeaker and was willing to sacrifice. Tui T. Sutherland has done it again with her amazing skills of writing

I love this series. It caught and held my attention from the very first. And the last half I could not put it down. I'm so glad that there's another book to the series.. Bravo this is a great book. I recommend this to any body who likes Dragons.

This is one of my favorite book series. There are not that many books about dragons and when I saw these books, I had to try them out! Starflight is the main character and in this book he really beaks out of his shell.

This is a very good book. Although I highly recommend that u read the first books first. Otherwise it should be very hard to understand. I would recommend this book for people who r looking for mystery and adventure. This books does include a little violence so be ready for that.

I love this series! My favourite part is when the RainWings sneak into the NightWing fortress to rescue their fellow RainWings. Turns out NightWings don't have powers at all and the prophecy isn't real!

scary! queen Battlewinner has to sit in lava! and Fatespeaker's all the time vision of a walrus ! freaky that they abducted rainwings and no other rainwings noticed except for Mangrove and Kinkajou.

Great story. wonderful world. filled with adventure and excitement, but ultimately a story about finding out who you are and who really matters in your life. Great series for kids of all ages.

My 10 year old absolutely loved these books and read the whole set over Christmas. Simliar to the Percy Jackson series. Highly recommend to encourage reading. Now I'm reading them too, as an adult.

I loved the part where all of the Nightwings go to the Rainforest kingdom. I also like when the queen of the Nightwing died. I didn't like the part where Mrowser sent the fake Seawing away.

Reading this book with my son! He loves the story. Also got my older son and husband to read it. So much fun to discuss the story. Can't wait for the next book.

I really like the book but some parts are so simply obvious you want to hit starflight in the head along with yourself. also really sad that this is the second to last book. well back to the bookstore and the library to find a new addictive book series.
