Unfortunately, A Season of Angels was disappointing. I was expecting a story about the workings of angels and it was like when you watch a movie because you'd heard your favorite actor starred, but in reality, he or she had a one-liner. Even so, the writing was engaging, but not page-turning, and the editing was below average. This is what one might expect from a writer early (1993) in her career. I have not read any other books by Debbie Macomber, and because of this example, I may not read another.

Although the start was a tiny bit slow the plot is enchanting. I usually don't like stories with multiple stories, switching back and forth but this one is fun. There were three segments in each chapter. These short vignettes of each story in the same timeline kept me turning pages until a grand conclusion of all three at 7:00 A.M. the next morning.

Just what I needed - a light tear jerker to lift my spirits. Three tricky situations and three angels to help the resolution process. A young boy who wanted a father; a childless couple who longed to be parents; and a man and a woman who both needed to change in order to love one another.

Of all the books I’ve read by this author this is the one I loved the most. Before I read it I came across one of my favorite bible verses that I had written in one of my journals. What a delightful book; but what else could we expect from such a gifted author? This book will have you laughing one minute, and reaching for a tissue the next, as three young, high-spirited angels try to help three people receive answers to their prayers before Christmas.

I love Debbie and her books. I rated this a 4 because the story lines seem to drag and get boring at times. Otherwise an amusing read.

3 Angels are sent from heaven to "fix" 3 people who need to restore their faith. These angels do not always do things by the book but they manage to fix the problems of the people they were sent to help. A book that brings a smile to your face and hope to your heart!

The story-line kept me reading. I really don't think the story needed the angels though. They were more of a distraction. A few interferences that felt insignificant. I like the characters and their prayerful wishes. In the end...All's well that ends well.

This book was a joy! My heart ached at the despair the three main characters each felt over their individual problems. And 3 angels came to the rescue. This book strengthened my faith and made me truly believe that we all have guardian angels.

Really enjoyed this book and me being born and raised in Port Orchard,WA same as the author I enjoy seeing names of places I know and miss as I'm in Ohio now. This book for me was an emotional roller coaster but couldn't put it down

Such an intertwined blend of Angels and the Family’s who needed their interventions! And all of it interwoven with loving challenges and surprises!

I almost quit reading after a few pages. It seemed to be too angelic, but then couldn't put it down as the characters became human and needy.

I personally do not like anthropomorphous rendering of angelic entities. I don't think of angels as being like human beings at all, so I was uncomfortable with this literary style.

If you love a good book based on real people going through real earthly trials, you will love it when they get “a little help “ from above.

Shirley, Goodness and Mercy are my favorite angels, and I love Gabriel’s calm wit. All 3 “assignments” were relatable, and the stories were well thought out. Will be reading more of Debbie’s books.

This book was an excellent read. I was so engrossed, I couldn't put it down. You need to keep a box of tissues next to you when reading. The ending really had me crying. Debbie Macomber is an excellent author. Please keep writing and I will keep reading. Thank you!

This was a very fun Christmas story about 3 angels sent to earth to answer 3 prayers. It was heartwarming and fun to watch the angels try to answer the prayers and stay out of trouble at the same time. I would recommend this as a good Christmas story.

This was a light, enjoyable, and emotional Christmas read. I adored the mischievous angels and really enjoyed all three story lines. My favorite was the story line about Monica. Leah's storyline was incredibly emotional and very well done. I liked Jody and Timmy, but overall wasn't happy with their story.

I really enjoy reading Debbie Macomber's books. And I love the stories about the three prayer ambassadors. But this book was very annoying due to so many grammatical and typographical errors. ie: mourn for mouth, tour for your, etc. So it was annoying to have the sentence interrupted with all the errors and trying to figure out what the word was really meant to be. Maybe the proof reader or typist was having a bad day.... I haven't seen this problem with the 5 books I've read so far. Just not sure what the problem was with this one. But all in all I really like Debbie's easy style of writing.

Debbie.s angels always are a great read. I especially enjoyed how she managed to return Timmies dad. She always amazes me with her stories. I already have another of her books ready to read.

This was a good book to read, but to many different characters having so many things going on at once. At first it was hard to follow, especially if you had to quit reading for a while. Once you started reading again, I had to go back in the previous chapters to figure out who was being talked about. It did get confusing for a while.

Story was hard to follow. I found it difficult to pick up where the story was after each angel's task was done.. I wouldn't want to read another book following this same style

A good storyline with surprising endings. Especially when the angels got into trouble setting up situations that took them off course. A must read book.

A Season of Angels was an uplifting and fun read. The characters are fun to get to know and putting the book down is hard because you will want to know more with each moment.

It was the next in the series. Very uplifting book. I have enjoyed the who?e series. Look forward to reading the next bpok.

This was my second time reading A Season of Angels. I enjoyed it the second time as much as the first. Debbie Macomber is an excellent writer, her books leave you feeling all warm inside as we'll as loved.

This book was a nice way to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the season. Very gentle and sweet. Nice reminder of the Angels that surround us.

I had a little trouble sorting through the characters in the beginning. Not separated by chapters as in Rose Inn series. Loved it once I got on track...

The characters were well developed and fun to get to know and watch as they matured. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed good clean stories even if they can be called a bit of fluff. We need a bit of fluff now and again, especially around the holidays!

Five stars because it deserves it. Love all the characters very realistic, some of the situations and the people reminds you about someone you know in real life. Enjoyed this book very much and recommend it to everyone

I did not enjoy this book as much as another one of her novels that I've read. The characters seemed kind of cliche'; not much depth. The stories of the characters were not interrelated. They were separate stories, but the book switched back and forth between each one. I chose this book because I wanted to read one of the author's Angel books. I may read another, I'm not sure. It was like eating oatmeal: warm and filling, but not terribly interesting.

The book was a good Christmas read. I gave it three stars because it was so totally predictable. Everything wrapped up very neatly, although unbelievably, by the end. The characters were stereotypical recreations - especially Chet who seemed to walk straight out of a 1940's film noir movie. Yikes! On a good note, some of the messages were believable...especially Jody and Glen's near tragic involvement. A Christmas read for sure.

I ordered this book to my phone. It is wonderful! I open it everytime I'm waiting for anything. Such a great service. This book is the first of Debbie MacComber that I've read and it's pretty good.

It was a nice change reading about Christmas in the very HOT summer we have been having. I have read all 3 of the books regarding the Angels, and very entertaining. Hope there are more to come.

I love reading about these three angels. You know something all happen. Their antics in answering prayers is delightful and I look forward to their next assignment together.

I should have known better than to waste my money on this book. It was super cheesy, not very well-written, and a bit boring.

This was an enjoyable read three stories and all ended nicely. The angels made me laugh and the stories made me both laugh and cry. I would recommend this book

Love Debbie McComber...Her books are heartfelt. She makes you laugh and she makes you cry. They are hard to put down and her Angel books contain such antics in them that they are hillarious.

I enjoyed reading this book very much. Had a hard time putting it down. My mother passed away this year and she collected angels. I think that when I was looking for something to read she brought me to this book Looking forward to the next book.

This was a heart warming book and reminded me there is always "always" an angel looking out for each of us. At least that is my belief. Great read!
