My daughter loves this series. This latest book is no exception. She read it within an hour of getting it and has been drawing characters from the book all evening.

These are great books for 7-12 year olds! Impish (clean) humor and imagination, exhuberant energy. Dave is a master at engaging this age group...and bigger kids who wish Dave was publishing when we were in school... A step above Captain Underpants, the Dogman series are mirthful parodies of classic literature and media too many teachers render into bone dry tedious requirements. Every kid forced to sit in a chair for 8 hours every day (and their parents as well, lol) will appreciate these updated retellings and, when paired with the classics themselves, there’s a far higher likelihood the plot and “required” aspects will be remembered long after the books have been shelved. Humor works!

I have a HUGE Dav Pilkey fan. This book lit up his world. I would say this is 2nd grade reading level but I'll continue to buy every Dav Pilkey book as long as he puts new ones out. If you're unfamiliar with this series it is much like the Cpatain Underpants series and more comic style than chapter book. These books are amazing at engaging young readers!

My seven year old son doesn't hate reading, but there are almost always other things he'd rather be doing than reading. He finished this book in three days. I've never seen him so focused on a book. I don't necessarily like these comic book type books (there are also some words in the book that we don't use - like "idiot" and "stupid"), but if it gets him to learn to love reading, then I'm all for it.

After purchasing the series, my child was upgraded three reading levels, as the common core reading lessons weren't challenging enough. I recommend this book to any Mother and or Father who not only wants to heighten their child's reading ability, but also prepare them for comic books as well!

He has devoured all of them in just a couple of months. These CU books series is more chapter style writing with pictures on most pages to keep them engaged. Thank you, Dave Pilkey for fostering a passion for reading in my son!!

I think her favorite is this one, when dog man and the cat kid dresses as superheroes with cape and everything. To be honest, I feel it's a bit early that we give these books to her when she was only three (she got the first one from a gift exchange at daycare then we bought the rest for her). She sometimes got confused about the good, the bad, the ugly in these books. She says I'm sending you to jail when she gets frustrated. But still worth it, as long as she loves it.

My nephew (8, 2nd grade) is behind in his reading skills. He hates reading! Just hates it. I felt some of that may have been a lack of interest.l, so I started buying him these comics. Although he’s still not a big fan of reading, he loves flipping through them, and he’ll put up with reading to know what’s happening. They’re delightful comics, and they’ve helped him improve on his reading quite a bit. Definitely recommend for kids in this reading level who lack interest in reading but like superheroes and action.

My son devoured this book. Dave Pilkey has really given my son a joy and excitement for reading. He picks up on the nuances life-lessons peppered throughout perfectly age-appropriate humor. He read it through the day we got it and has probably read it another three times.

Both of my sons, ages 7 and age, love this book and its previous 3 books in this series. They've read them over and over, at least 3 times. They cannot wait to take them to school after the winter break.

These books really get my kids interested in reading. I was having a really hard time getting my daughter to read. I bought a variety of books to try to get her interested. These books are the one's that seemed to do it! She would fight me to read now she is reading two of these books a night! I ended up buying all of his books. The kids love them! My kids are 7 and 9 it seems to be popular books in that age group.

My 6 year old loves this series. He looks forward to reading it on his own—a first! They have cute humor, a flip-o-Rama animation and easy lessons on drawing the characters. Yes, the text is more vernacular than proper. So what! Worth sparking a joy of reading!

My son and I adore the Dog Man books. We were first introduced to them by his Mimi and we've been growing our collection since. It's silly, adorable, and just innocent fun. Definitely keeps a 6 year old boy on the edge of his seat! Haha! Highly recommend these books to read to your kids at bedtime or whenever you please. I have read about 6 now and they're all so good! Going to complete the collection when we can!

My second grader loves this entire series. The pictures are fun, and it's a good quick read for him. He likes the story, and I like that there isn't as much bathroom humor as other books for his age group. At the back of the book are "learn to draw" pages for the characters, which he loves too. Great series!

My 10 year old son is a video game addict, I got him these books and he immediately put the games away and started reading these. He has all 7 and has read them all multiple times.

This series is great for young boys. Simple, fun and silly. The author wrote a similar series called "Captain Underpants", which I was sad to pass over because it's a great genre and reading level for my son, but I'm not as comfortable with it for obvious, front-cover reasons. Dogman has a similar wit without making the tight laced prude inside me cringe.

My young grandson and I laughed ourselves silly over this book. (Plus: There’s a running sight gag that involves a hole in the sidewalk that slayed us.) Hours of bonding and hilarity for all ages. I read it, but let him decipher key words. I’ve bought every dang one of these, they are that goofy and goodhearted.

My son has read the whole serie and loved it. This one I purchased it by mistake trying to order the latest one. But for any if you trying to decide wether purchase it or no... I can assure you your kid will love it. Great author

I recently bought this book for my 7 yr old grandson to add to his Dog Man book collection. I like the hard cover books, good quality. He loves the crazy plots & funny characters. Sort of a comic book format & lots of pictures.

This comic series is enjoyable to read to young children. There are interactive flip-book sections in the book. Children enjoy the pictures as much as the goofy texts.

All of these books are filled with low-grade bathroom humor, poor grammar and vocabulary, and confusing use of letter capitalization that undermines what a child should be learning in school. If you want to dumb down your child, these will do the trick.

I’m not too keen on the graphic novel style books for my second grader, however he loves them! In spite of the few grammatical and spelling errors (on purpose), I enjoy reading these books with him. Even though they are comic style, they’re still over 100 pages each and he has every book from the series and has read them multiple times. Reading is reading, right?

The Dogman book series was the only book series to really engage my son and get him to keep reading. He reads the books over and over again! They are a big hit as bedtime stories. The thing I love the most about these books is the theme of forgiveness, second chances and motivation to always do good.

i absolutey loved this book its so fun! i would recommended it to anyone that wants a fun book or comic book to read but mostly to kids! i also loved the rest of the series and wrote revews for the other of first five in the series! also i should warn you that i am a 11-year old so some words may be misspelled so just be aware.

We found Dogman at my child's bookfair a year ago and have since purchased every title and are now anxiously awaiting our pre orders with each new release. If you like Captain Underpants, you will definitely enjoy the tale of the half man/ half dog super cop. We read these before bedtime. At first it was just a father/son thing, but my wife began to enjoy what she overheard and now joins us for our pre bed readings of the adventures of Dog Man.

Purchased for a boy who doesn’t want to give time foe reading. He read the book as soon as it was dropped off and finished it!! Will continue to purchase more books from this author.

This series is excellent for the unmotivated 1-3 grade readers. They read like comic books. My son went from “you can’t make me read” to begging us to order more. He even loves to write his own stories now. I highly recommend.
