Fred Rogers speaks to children of all ages. I am a senior citizen and I still love tuning into the neighborhood. I learn so much. I also learn how to speak to others with simplicity and respect.

The last day I saw my dad alive during the pandemic via iPad broke my heart deeply. Even though it was peaceful and a few hours later he stopped breathing, it was still super sad. I felt drawn to watch the Mister Rogers movie starring Tom Hanks. Not knowing what it was about other than the actor author learned it was about me in part. Reflecting aspects of the relationship my dad and I had similarly as the storyline. After the film, I borrowed online hopped on Amazon and purchased every Fred Rogers book I could find. On Father’s Day, I began my new tradition reading pages from this book and others. For me, this blessing is from God. The thought came to me these are all the things my dad would have taught me if he knew how. Father’s Day didn't feel as sad when I did this. I'm super glad to have a new ritual to help me connect with the memories of my dad. And, won't lie... I feel special. Just the way I am 😆 The note to readers at the beginning starts with ”What is essential is invisible to the eye.” An all-time favorite line from a favorite book, The Little Prince. Concludes with: ”So may it be with words in this book, which have been gathered from my speeches, songs, newspaper columns, books, and television programs. Once you’ve read them and made them your own, may they find their place in the innermost part of you - in that essential part of you that inspires you to be who you really are.” - Fred Rogers Mister Rogers had me at The Little Prince. Even though I'm grown have learned it's never too late to nurture oneself. Thank you Fred Rogers for your empathy, kind heart, and thoughtful mindful ideas shared generously. I love everything about Mr. Rogers. I once wrote to him (about potty training my Deowns Syndrome son) and he personally responded to me with such kindness that I wept. He invited further correspondence as he was a personal, heart to heart man, always couched in the Spirit of Christ without being "religious". He made everyone feel special because he believed that everyone WAS SPECIAL. We should all be like him.

The chapters are separated by topic, so when I want to talk to my child about something specific it makes it easy to pull out some amazing words of wisdom. I love love love this book. I highly recommend it. My son has Asperger's, and loves this book to help him understand the world around him.

This gem of a book contains small bits of wisdom, that together add up to a wonderful guide to loving parenting. It is a compassionate look children's interior lives--their fears, desires, anger, love, etc., and the most helpful ways a parent can respond to them. It helped me quite a bit in challenging moments of raising my children, and I have just ordered it for my daughter, a new mother.

This is the orginal quote book of Mister Rogers quotes complied during his lifetime, and is the best on in my opinon. Brilliantly organized, and such a wealth of goodness! A must have for anyone who values children, life and growing! A treasurey!!

If you are just starting a family, read this book. The wisdom of Mr. Rogers is incredibly useful.

I knew that it was small, but I didn't know it was this small. I don't think I've ever even seen a book this small before. The front has a cool mirror, too, which is a huge bonus. I like how it's organized. It's broken into themes of what Mr. Rogers stood for. It's mostly a book of quotes, but they're good quotes. One that was really interesting was how Mr. Rogers parents, at a very early age, let him use the piano to express whatever emotion he was feeling, and how he thought that was a really good way of dealing with emotions. After mine arrived and I loved it, I ordered about ten as gifts for my friends.

I have fond childhood memories of watching Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. He made his audience feel loved and accepted and very special. I am glad the shows still air on public television so my children can grow up with him as I did. This book is just the right size for toddler hands and my children love to look at the pictures and talk about what they see.

What else can I say?

This book has great messages for kids and adults, as one would expect from Mr. Rogers. It also has fabulous pictures of the Mr. Rodgers show set and many of the characters and puppets. My only disappointment is that the book size is so small. I didn't read the dimensions in the listing. It won't be very easy to read this together with my kids. I might return it and try to find a bigger copy of it.

While reading this book I could hear Mr. Rogers voice and it was awesome.

For those of us raised on Mr. Roger's Neighborhood this is a walk down memory lane, a book of servings of "comfort food." Reminders of our childhood we can share with the younger generation, perhaps a page or two at bedtime, or as the wee one falls off into an afternoon nap, or other "quiet time" activity... those of us who experienced Mr. Roger's Neighborhood can extract passages to share with our children, nieces and nephews and even grandchildren. We all need to feel special, and Mr. Rogers did that, and in this book continues to proclaim the message.

How great was my delight at finding this book available through Amazon. Mr. Rogers had such wisdom that he shared in the most gentle way. I feared this book was one I would not find available to order. I appreciate the inventory Amazon offers for sale and the superb delivery system that brings you what you want, when you want it, in top notch condition at outstanding prices.

It's a great book of quotes. It made me think a lot and inspired me to write while I was reading it. I think that it's best read one chapter at a time to let the quotes sink in.

I love Mr. Rogers. His insight is so simple yet thought provoking. It might be dozens of years old, or more, but still very relevant to today.

Great book

If you liked Fred Rogers you'll like the book. I actually think it is much better than the show as the show assumed a juvenile audience whereas the book of course, assumes a parental audience. It is a collection of his thoughts -without baggage like the modern "Sesame Street inclusiveness" propaganda, on raising kids, their sometimes trepidations, the importance of play and imagination, as one might expect. Anyone who buys the book likely already employs Rogers' philosophies in raising kids. I actually bought this for my teen son who always loved "Mr. Rogers".

Where are the Mr. Rogers of today? There aren't many, UNLESS people read and learn from his words. Get wise--read this book!

His book is a listing of quotes that were very dull and boring. They have very little insight.

My exgirlfriend gave this to me, back when we were still dating. Its a great little book, filled with lots of beautiful quotes and song lyrics from the show. There are anecdotes about his childhood and about things he learned during his life. Its a very lovely book. If you grew up with Mr. Rogers, its a perfect addition to your library. If your children don't know much about Mr. Rogers, its time to show them what they've been missing. The book *is* very small, but that means it can be tucked into a purse, hip pouch or even back pocket to be taken along on trips, rides, waiting in line etc. A must have.
