When Trez lost his beloved to a tragic death (The Shadows, Black Dagger Brotherhood #13), his soul was crushed and his destiny seemed relegated to suffering. But when he meets a mysterious female, he becomes convinced his true love has been reincarnated. Is he right? Or has his grief created a disastrous delusion?
Therese has come to Caldwell to escape a rift with her bloodline. The revelation that she was adopted and not born into her family shakes the foundations of her identity, and she is determined to make it on her own. Her attraction to Trez is not what she’s looking for, except the sexy Shadow proves to be undeniable.
Has fate provided a grieving widower with a second chance...or is Trez too blinded by the past to see the present for what it really is? In this sensual, arresting book full of the themes of redemption and self-discovery, two lost souls find themselves at a crossroads where the heart is the only compass that can be trusted...but that may require a courage that neither of them possesses.

Mixed feelings
**SPOILERS AHEAD** I must confess that I am struggling with this book. I don’t feel like giving it 4 stars, but 3 seems a little low so let’s say it’s 3.75. The main problem with this book for me is that it sort of reopened a wound that for me was already healed. Selena’s death in The Shadows was devastating. I honestly grieved her death for many months. But I learned to move on, I found comfort in the next books and focused on the other stories and characters (e.g. Rhun and Saxton!) and even though I still felt sorry for Trez, I just knew that he would be fine eventually, just like Tohr after Wellsie. It would take time, but it would happen. So when we first met Therese I was a little worried about how this whole reincarnation thing would play out and after reading this book I can say I was right to be worried. Yes, I am thrilled that Trez finally got his HEA. However, the whole reincarnation thing felt too forced, as I imagined it would. This is Jane turning into a ghost all over again. A sort of Deus ex machina that is supposed to right some wrong. It didn’t convince me though. I think I would have preferred if Therese had been someone else entirely different. And maybe Selena would just show up to give her blessings to Trez. Or if this whole reincarnation thing had at least been hinted still at The Shadows to give us something to look forward to. As it is, it was a little too late to bring Selena back and a little too soon to have Trez fall in love with someone else. Which is really confusing, hence my mixed feelings about this book. I don’t hate it. I just feel that maybe the timing for this story had been completely out of the mark. Despite all that, I really liked Trez’s plans for the future and I wanted to see more of that. Going back to school, changing careers, living with the in-laws, becoming and uncle! Those were things that I wanted to see in the epilogue yet, unfortunately, were just briefly mentioned.
Disappointing
I love vampire romances! I’ve read all of this author’s books, and for a while this was my favorite series. Nowadays the BDB books are hit or miss. This one was a miss for me. The premise was only barely intriguing - Trez, recently widowed of Selena, meets a woman who looks like his dead wife - but I was excited about reading a Christmas BDB book. The heroine, Therese, was not very compelling - pretty and nice but immature and bland. The hero, Trez, wasn’t any more compelling - handsome and strong but sad and confused. They didn’t have much chemistry. The storyline was far-fetched, and the writing was flat. Overall, disappointing.
Kind of Meh.
Where Winter Finds You isn't a standalone. You need to be familiar with the BDB series and you need to read book 13 THE SHADOWS in this series before reading this book. This book was not as well written as J.R. Ward's first 5 or 10 books. The editing has certainly gone down hill and the prices have gone up since Simon and Schuster took over. Trez Latimer is a Shadow who not long ago sacrificed everything to mate with Selena, a Chosen. When she died after their short time together he lost the will to live. His brother and those in his life who care for him worry about this and are concerned that he’ll take matters in his own hands, which he has been tempted to do. But recently, a young woman named Therese comes to work for iAm in his restaurant as a server and stuns everyone from the brotherhood who sees her because she’s a dead ringer for Selena. Therese has come to Caldwell to escape a rift with her family. The revelation that she was adopted and not born into her family shakes the foundations of her identity, and she is determined to make it on her own. Her attraction to Trez is not what she’s looking for, except the sexy Shadow proves to be irresistable. So, Trez gets his HEA. Yay! The ending wrapped up a little too quickly and easily though. There was very little action and danger in this story. There was a tiny amount near the end. The story dealt with mostly the romance between the H and h. You get glimpses of other members of the BDB family. I love when that happens. It seems that J.R. found a way to explain the Darius/John conundrum in explaining how the Selena/Theresa thing was able to happen. Go Lassiter! Does anyone else get perturbed at how J.R. describes something simple with a pound of adjectives, adverbs, analogies and metaphors? Sometimes I just want to get the story plain and simple.
Hell ya!!
Now that was a HEA worth waiting for!!! Ever since I read The Shadows I've been dying for this book and I was not disappointed ( not that I ever am ). The Warden has done it again. Every time I think it cannot get any better she proves me wrong. Now every time I do a re-read of the series I can consol myself with the thought of this book giving me the much needed release from grief and passing me into a place of happiness. Thank you for this book!!!
Two souls found once again
Trez's book was so superb, what was once lost has been found again thanks to an angel with a heart for love. Therese who once was at dought for what and who she was and Trez doughting the reason to live have now found all the answers needed. Thank you to the fallen angel. I loved this story and how Trez found his HEA with Therese forever.
Depressing, depressing, depressing Very disappointing
I love this series, I love the authors writing, but this book was just depressing. It was chapters and chapters of the main character thinking about suicide and how sad and depressed he was. It felt like a few pages of very brief happiness and then the rest was just plain old depressing. I don’t recommend this book, read a different one in the series. Who wants to read such a depressing book especially around Christmas? Not me
Finally forever!
Where Winter Finds You is an emotional journey, one that was started in the 13th book, The Shadows, this more of a continuation of Trez's journey to his happily ever after. After losing his Shellan Selena, Trez has been on a downward spiral of grief and pain, contemplating suicide is nothing new for him lately. He felt adrift in the world except for the few times he is around Therese. The woman looks exactly like his Selena, it's almost as if she is his shellan but that can't be, can it? Therese moved to Caldwell from Michigan, she felt compelled to come here after having a fight with her family. Trying to start over with no support, very little money was scary but she was eager to make her own way. Luckily she got a job at an Italian restaurant, the chef I Am, was breed so that was a plus. Trez and Therese both recognize the pull to each other, her because she has been dreaming about him for a while and he because he thinks she is Selena come back to him. The journey they are on isn't an easy one but well worth it in the end.
When Love Breaks Through the Shadows
I have been waiting for the next part of Trez's story. I still cry when I think about the exquisite love he shared and absolute heartbreak that ultimately defines the time he shared with Selena. The untethered honesty with which their story unfolds is unforgettable. There are some hard truths that the main characters, Trez and Therese, must both face in this book. It was impossible to put down because each facet led me closer to the conclusion I needed to know. I was captivated by the sweet love that blossomed, scorched by the heat which consumed, and soothed when they finally find what they both deserve. J.R. Ward continues to reel me into this addictive Black Dagger Brotherhood Universe with her humor, wit, and beautiful prose. Her constant commitment to love, loyalty, honesty, and family are themes which never grow old for me. The notion that one must always fight and protect those they hold dear also shines bright in this book. Where Winter Finds You is a legacy to the sentiment that love must be honest and well-intentioned if it is to survive.
Wonderful BDB Christmas Story And HEA For A Great Coup
I think the majority of us faithful BDB readers that have read this series since the beginning have always felt Trez and Selena deserved a much happier ending. This fantastic story finally brings them full circle. Ward's writing is always complex and full of depth from the characters emotions to the main couple's personal trials to reach their HEA. She sure puts Trez and Selena/ Therese through the proverbial ringer in this one. Another thing I appreciate about her writing is that she is willing to write a big enough book to give the reader a complete story, in this case 480 pages. One of my biggest frustrations is with authors who begin a story, be it one book or a trilogy, then rush the ending leaving important unanswered questions or shallow unfulfilling HEAs. BDB readers do NOT skip this book, not only is it important to the overall storyline but it contains a much needed beautiful HEA!
Emotional with HEA
Admitting I cried at the beginning of the book as Trez replays Selena's death almost had me thinking I can't do this again. But then there is Therese, how is this possible the she is the exac copy of Trez's mate? Does it matter? His queen is here with him and that is all that matters, right? Trez has a connection with her, and Therese has feelings she can not explain. After she left what she thought was her blood family she headed to Caldwell without knowing why. And now she has Trez. As tragedy strikes her family, Trez has more questions then answers, not sure this is right. Is it even possible? JR Ward has brought another brilliant story with emotions all over. Lassiter has his moment to 'shine' which is awesome. An emotional story that leads to a great HEA the Trez deserves. I love this series and can not wait for more.

A rat without a tail !!!
I did not finish this book I purchased the audio and the book and I could not get through either. Unlike other BDB fans, I did not see the need for Trez to be united with Theresa/Selena. This was an opportunity to expand the shadows world and possibly have developed a totally new love interest. Trez and Selena's love story was intriguing, but to be honest I was not a big fan of the Shadows book. I am a realist, Selena is dead move on !!!! I know I know Trez was a bonded male, but as we have seen in the previous books with time one can have a new life with another person. I had hoped that J R ward would take Trez and give him time to mourn and find a different path, a different love interest. The book was just flat and uninteresting to me. I hope the next book in this series has more depth. I haven't given up on the author yet. Hope springs eternal!!!
The absolute best Christmas present J.R. Ward could give her fans
Back so many books ago J.R.'s fans were devastated for Trez and Selena. After all Trez had gone through, and with Selena just beginning to actually live, they were cheated out of their HEA. It was a very hard blow and I still bawl like a baby whenever I read that book again. But now we've been given a Christmas gift like no other. A second chance for these two people to finally be happy. We all know that things don't always work the way we think they will with the Warden, so I won't spoil the book for those who haven't read it by telling what happens. All I'll say is that you definitely don't want to miss this one for anything!!!
Textual Errors.
I refuse to give a book written by a New York Times bestselling author more than two star when the publisher of this book doesn’t even bother to edit it. Obviously Ms. Ward’s editors just use spellcheck to edit her books which is a shame. She obviously needs to jump ship and find a new publishers, as her books written a decade ago didn’t have these errors. This is a nice happily ever after for Trez and Selena, no shock there. Lassiter the angel has a huge part in Selena’s resurrection as Theresa. This isn’t a great story but it’s and okay one.
Wonderful story full of emotion, healing, and love!
Where Winter Finds You was a wonderful story full of emotion, healing, and love. Since learning about Trez’s loss and heartbreak in The Shadows, I've been wanting him to get his HEA, and did he ever. My heart is happy! A truly great read! I loved Therese. I loved how she was determined to make it on her own and make a life for herself. I got her pain and frustration and l liked how she worked through it, accepted some things about her past, and moved forward. Now Trez, he's in a bad place after losing his mate so him working through everything and meeting Therese was emotional and heart wrenching. There were so many feelings! He had so much guilt happening because of his feelings towards her. I loved the pull and attraction that he and Therese shared. I enjoyed them coming together and how certain details were coming to light, connecting them. I loved how it all tied together and the special moments happening, and how Selena was tied into it all. This was a wonderful story set in the Black Dagger Brotherhood world. I loved seeing the bond between iAm and Trez as they work through their own issues. I liked how everyone in the Brotherhood cared so much for Trez. I adored Lassiter, who sometimes seems like comic relief but really, he feels deeply and has a heart of gold. Anytime he's a part of the story I'm always smiling. I enjoyed the story and the build to all the details and I loved the dots connecting as Trez and Therese came together. It was definitely a feel-good story with characters I love in a world I can't get enough of. It was beautifully done!
Fabulous love story with a lot of holiday goodness
Where Winter Finds You is book #17.5 in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. (Yes! 17.5!) I think you might be able to get away with reading this as a standalone but truly, this is an awesome vampire series so I definitely recommend starting at the beginning! We first met Trez and his brother iAm in book 13, The Shadows. They're similar to vampires but actually come from the s’Hisbe tribe. Trez is a widow, still very much in grief over his mate but when he sees Therese for the first time, he can't help but notice the uncanny resemblance to his late female. Is this Trez's mate reincarnated or is he destined to live the rest of his days in sorrow? I can't even tell you how very glad I was to read about Trez's happy ever after! After reading his story in book 13, I was left feeling kind of jilted and unresolved. I mean, this is a paranormal romance, I need an HEA!! This entire story belongs to Trez and Therese without a lot of other storylines and for once, I totally enjoyed it because I felt like they absolutely deserved to find happiness. My heart was already broken for Trez and for iAm as well, in a way, since he had to watch his brother suffer so badly. As a widow myself, I couldn't help but think of how wonderful it would be to have my husband back... I'd be remiss not to mention one of my favorite characters, ever...Lassiter, the Angel. Adore that guy!! This is a fabulous love story with a lot of holiday goodness. Told from dual POVs with a sweet ever after. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
Trez and Selena's story part 2
While this book may be #17.5 it is actually a full novel so don’t expect a quick story. In the previous book, The Chosen, Trez meets Therese, who is identical to Selena, and is working at his brother's restaurant. When Therese was introduced I wasn’t happy about it because Trez had just lost Selena and I felt it was too soon. Well, I still think this is too soon but I didn’t hate it. First off, my biggest issue was with Therese. The more I learned about her the less I liked her. Her reaction to finding out she is adopted was extreme and mind boggling to me. I also felt like she was a bit of a pushover even though she was trying to be independent. She never asks Trez or anyone else why they had such an extreme reaction to meeting her. Nor does she push Trez to open up as to why he is being somewhat emotional during their relationship. She just didn’t live up to my expectations of what a reincarnation of Selena would be. I was heartbroken for Trez in The Shadows and reading this book just brought all those feelings back out. This was not a fun read, it was a depressing and emotional one for me. Trez is struggling with his grief and is suicidal to an extent. Everyone is worried about him, especially iAm. Throwing Therese in the mix this soon after Selena’s death was very confusing for Trez because he isn’t distinguishing them as two different people. His mind can’t grasp that she had a life and family before she moved to Caldwell and she is a different person. It was very upsetting to read this and see Trez struggling even more now than he was before he met Therese. I really wish that Ward had not made Therese a mirror image of Selena because it just makes the situation harder on Trez, and everyone else who knew Selena. This book, while good, felt almost like Ward was just trying to make the people who were angry about Selena’s death happy. Much like Tohr’s book, I felt like it was just too soon to force a grieving male onto someone new, even with her being the reincarnation of Selena. Putting all these issues aside, I did still enjoy the story, which is why I am giving this three stars.
Ok as a short story, disappointing as a BDB novel
Ok as a short story, disappointing as a BDB novel. Some parts overly detailed and drawn out, others skipped over, while everything hurriedly tied up in a nice little bow. The early BDB novels far exceed this one.
Awesome BDB Installment
I was entranced by the first chapter -- and that wasn't even about the main characters! JR Ward weaves a snowy Christmas near fatal accident and didn't even name names! But you just knew who the "Angel" was that saved this mortal from being wiped out by a semi! Yay Lassiter! OK -- this book is for the BDB (Black Dagger Brotherhood #17.5) faithful, for sure. It is Trez's second chance (reincarnated) love story. I know everyone is droning on about the "reincarnation" -- blah, blah, blah. Don't care -- I adored this story! Therese was introduced to us a book or two ago as a new waitress at iAm's restaurant. She looks like Selena (Trez's love lost to a tragic disease in The Shadows -- BDB book #13) but she isn't actually Selena/or could be? In any event, she has dreams of Trez -- maybe Selena's thoughts....-- and he keeps popping into the restaurant to see her. She has run away from her hometown in Michigan (Ms Ward even gives a shout out to my Spartan's Tom Izzo) when she finds out she's adopted. Trez is absolutely heart sick, ready to end it all, devastated from his Selena lost. He seems relegated to misery -- then he meets this "familiar" female and is swept away with a whirlwind (this is a novella peeps) romance. Is his grief throwing him a delusion or is she the real thing? It's is a paranormal romance so you never know -- JR Ward wraps this up with her signature wit and throws in a few of the other Brothers (and Bitty) with some spoiler tidbits for future reference/past wrap up. This Cadwell Chrismas card is a super quick read and a little "sweeter" than Ward's usual drama/angst to give Trez and Therese their HEA. The teaser for Ward's upcoming Sinner BDB #18) book is more Butch/Vishous than Jo/Syn but with a few new twists.
Where Winter Finds You
The very beginning is a little slow, but by the end, you know why the book starts with that particular scene. Trez is suicidal when we see him at the start of this tale. However, he is still drawn to Therese, the spitting image of his dead shellan. As the story ratchets up, their attraction to each other expodes. They wade through their personal tragedies together. The road is not easy but they stand together in the end. I really enjoyed the story, even all the angst. It was leading somewhere. The solid relationships of the brotherhood are evident. The tale shows that good families are always there for each other and can weather any storm. Also, sometimes miracles happen with a little divine intervention. I can't wait until the next book is released in paperback.
Sad
There was very little inclusion of the Brotherhood. There was too much introspection of the two main characters. There needed to be more interaction. And there was no fighting or management of the vampire race. This was not a good book and if it had been the first one I would not have followed the series like I have.
Trev gets his HEA
Trev has the dubious honor of being the only character in a romance series who didn't get his happily ever after. Now, after a long wait, that tragedy is rectified. In typical J.R. Ward fashion, the character development and insights into each character's persona run deeper than one might expect from a paranormal romance full of foul language and snark. The resolution of Trev's romantic dilemma may at first seen rushed and a bit trite, until you recall that the central premise of the story is Christmas miracles. Miracles don't have to follow a realistic time frame or even make sense. That's part of what makes them miracles. So, sit back and enjoy a story about true love finding a way, even if it needs a bit of divine intervention.
I loved it!
Finally Trez gets exactly what he deserves and I couldn't be happier! This has been a long time coming and I often worried that Trez would never get his HEA but here we are and it is amazing. JRW made Trez and the reader work and I mean really work for this one and it kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire ride. Ward has a way of leading the reader around in circles and down dark alleys before showing you the way and I broke out in many sweats wondering what would happen. There are quite a bit of bread crumbs and lines that need tugging in this one and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. Loved it!
It’s a good story (SPOILER ALERT)
“The following may be a spoiler alert so read at your own risk” It’s a good story but I would not consider it one of my favorites. The story adds more pieces to the puzzle that is the story of the black dagger brotherhood I’m so thrilled that Traz gets Selena back in the end. It’s just a little convoluted and convenient how it worked out. So now our golden bad boy angel is fixing the scribe Virgins careless mistakes. I think that she is just a much better writer than this book but that’s OK I’m not a critic I just know what I like I love all your books JR Ward ,you are an incredible story teller. I will always anxiously await one of your “BDB”books and eagerly read it . By the way when are we going to hear Lasseter’s story that might make a really neat read even though I know he can’t get married but still can’t he have a romance?
Where Winter Finds You
AMAZING! FINALLLLY WE HAVE A HEA FOR Trez! Selena is gone but is she???? Therese is a doppelgänger and Trez is seeing his Queen again...is it Selena??? Can it be???? You need to read this one...it’s SOOOOOOO GOOOOOOD!!!!!
Loved it. A bargain at any price.
A true Christmas gift. No huge surprises .Ties up some loose ends and thanks to a few shiny Christmas moments via Lassiter, J.R. gets to get her groove back. Have a Merry Christmas J.R. you deserve it.
Not All Love Stories are What You'd Think
Winter can be bleak, longer nights, bone cold breezes, a sinlulary lonely feeling amid the twinkling lights and romantic fireplace fires. So when Trez finds himself drawn to a woman who holds a familiar scent and touch he tries to ignore it, argue with it, until he no longer can. Therese is a dedicated reporter for the Caldwell Courier, with a side passion for vampires, she knows they are out there and is "hunting" them with her work buddy. Paths cross as the Brotherhood continues to hunt the Omega and his minions, V and Butch friendship is strained as they decide the meaning of the prophecy that now sits on Butch's broad shoulders...oh and family, it's complicated, secrets will be revealed!
Closure for Trez!
I enjoyed this book. I’m excited to see what Lassiter can do with John Matthew now that we’ve seen him work his magic with Trez! I miss this world so much! Now to impatiently await the next.....
Cold to the bone but hot at heart
If you have never read any of the black dagger brotherhood you need to start at the beginning. The series is awesome and it has a couple of small spin off series that are linked closely to the main characters. An unbelievable talented author who keeps finding more and more exciting tales to share involving this wonderful mysterious world. Trez is another dark, violent character who fights hard but loves deep. Impossible to love another as much as he aches for his shellan. And then there was her!
Does not disappoint.
The Black Dagger Brotherhood I have list count how many times I have read. Awesome series. Where Winter Finds You has a subtle beginning but sure does come alive little further on. Very poignant on so many levels. J. R. Ward gives her characters such substance and reality, if I were to meet a huge leather clad compelling guy in a dark area, well, he would just have to be one of the brothers or the fighters. Nothing to fear unless you are the bad guy. Just love the entire series. Always hard waiting for the next one to come out!
A long awaited happy ending for two of our star crossed lovers...
I just finished reading and can't say enough how happy I am with the outcome. Trez and Selena's story was tragic and I remember how upset I was with the way it ended in The Shadows. The Scribe Virgin's replacement the angel Lassiter really shakes things up here and is a welcome change from the distant approach she took to her creations and their dilemmas. And this book coming out now, so close to Christmas makes it feel like a special gift.
I was undrerwhemed
J.R. Ward is one of my top ten favorite paranormal romance authors so it's hard for me to give this book a mediocre rating. I just felt this story lacked oomph. I wasn't feeling any strong emotions like I usually do when I read the books in this series. Maybe because there weren't any secondary stories developing to get me revved up for future books or maybe because I didn't feel a connection to Therese. Whatever the reason, I am sure this will be the only book of the BDB that I will rate less than a four.
Full Circle Love
I just finished reading "Where Winter Finds You" . It starts very slow then it takes on a rollercoaster of emotions. You are sad then happy. You are angry and the sorrowful. It is a lover story that goes from one life to another. This everlasting love is almost lost because of anger and stupidity. Sometimes when people are in love they can be stupid, and thoughtless. But never fear, there is always intervention of the angels.
Couldn't get enough
Loved this book...as usual, JR Ward delivered another kick ass book. Trez was so broken til he saw Therese... Was she who he thought she may be? He needed her to be...He wanted her to be.... But could she be? She was broken as well. She was torn...wanting to be on her own...her own person, yet Trez fulfilled all her needs. Together could they heal their hearts and find happiness? And on a side note....Lassiter rocks!!!
Love it!!!
Finally a happy ending for Trez! The Shadows broke my heart as Trez’s heart was ripped out. This book was a wonderful and beautiful new beginning for our broken hearted Trez. This was an action packed book from start to finish. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. JR Ward has done a great job through out this whole series and it’s spin off series. Never a dull moment with our hot sexy brothers. Can’t wait to read Sinner.
Another great one
I just finished reading "Where Winter Finds You", and I love, love, loved it as usual. Anyone, and I mean ANYONE who doesn't love it is cracked in the head! J R Ward is sooo incredibly talented. If I could've given this story more than 5 stars, I would absolutely done so. I just hope the stories never end, I would be so devistated. At the risk of being judgemental, the people who Are being judgemental by giving less than 5 stars, Ms. Ward is the best and you could hardly compete, just saying 😁.
OUTSTANDING!!!
Another fabulous book by J.R. Ward, exactly what I expected to read only better than I had anticipated! Lots of twisty angst on Trez's part as he copes with Therese's uncanny resemblance to his dead shellan Selene, coupled with Therese's hesitancy in getting involved with her boss's brother makes for an interesting courtship. Loved seeing old friends from the Black Dagger family make appearances throughout the story, especially one of my favorites, little Bitty. Where Winter Finds You is the perfect Christmas novel for Black Dagger fans, highly recommended!
A beautiful, emotional second chance romance
Trez has suffered immeasurably since his Selenas death, at times he has wanted to give up. His friends and family suffer daily watching it all unfold. Until Theresa enters his world, the spitting image of his mate, though with a completely different past and no recollection of him. It's a beautiful story. It's a journey. It's sad and tragic, but it's their story and it's life in all its ugly glory. I loved every minute and I feel like I have waited a lifetime for their happily-ever-after, though it's no where near that long!
Fabulous as always!
In spite of all the heartbreak, I had many many laughs with poor Trez’s dip into insanity. The round the bend inner dialogue was hilarious at times. But the anxiety loss desperation and confusion was so humanely familiar. Therese/Selene is another great character in another exciting BDB and I look forward to seeing them all again in Sinner. Forever an avid avid fan!
BDB
What can I say....she did it again, she does it again and I hope she keeps doing it Ward's books are just awesome, the Brotherhood is a world on it's own....hot exciting loving passionate....and so much more If you haven't read them yet....what are you waiting for....an absolute must to read and experience for yourself....and re read and re read.... RECOMMENDED BIG TIME
Finally!!!
What a lovely and touching story. This one couple brought tears to my eyes starting in The King and though disappointed it wasn't completed there I am more than happy to have read this installment in the series dedicated to my favorite Shadow. It had all the emotions pouring out of me. Kudos to the Warden for giving Trez and Selena the book they deserved.
Pretty good for a novella
I love the Warden and am an avid BDB reader. I had been looking forward to this book for some time. The last two chapters were the best part of the book. I skimmed through most of it. I’m glad Trez is settled. Lassiter is always fun. This could have been a couple chapters in one of the big books and saved us all some money.
I love this story!
My sister lost her husband recently. And this story brought how hard and long grieving can be. Even forever! I love this story because Trez and Theresa or Selena. Had so much love that went beyond the fade and forever. It was beautiful that this was Lassiter first miracle. I love his crazy character! Thanks for the great story that I always remember. Teresa
Slow start. Almost put it down.
This book started out slow and depressing. It seemed like Trez was having a mental breakdown. I almost put it down. I knew there has to be some cohesiveness in here if I just hung on and kept reading. I am glad that Trez was not having a mental breakdown and stopped thinking about suicide. I am glad Therese got a chance to heal her relationship with her family. I am really glad that Lassiter made this Christmas miracle happen for then and reunited to soul mates ❤️. J. R. Ward you did it again.
Another good read
I'm never disappointed with a Black Dagger Brotherhood book, even when it's one of the characters who aren't members of the brotherhood. Trez's story was in an earlier book and I hoped but didn't expect there to be any more about him. So this story was a very pleasant surprise. I would definitely recommend this book to readers of this genre.
If you need to get stuff done
I hate having to wait for the next book but love when they come. I anxiously awaited this one and it came out the week of finals, so if course I binge read it in a day and now have to do a full re read to get the smaller details. Love all things Ward and that's not something I see stopping anytime soon. Can't wait for the next distraction from my school work ;)
Love that spans time
One emotional packed read. A love that is lost, but then found again. Trez loses his mate. One day spies a female that looks exactly like his mate. He decides it is her and must have her back. Is she truly his mate, or does he just really wish that she is? Will he find love again? Come ride the emotional roller coaster.
The Warden at her very best
I read this one in one nighttime sitting. I laughed out loud, i was utterly turned on, I cried & I cheered for and with Trez and his shellan. I don't know what Ms. Ward was smoking when she wrote this, but the poetry in these pages makes this one of her best works and I'm so happy and sad to have come to the end.
Another 100+ star book in this series!
Wow! This was a FANTASTIC Christmas story! I absolutely loved the story line and the ending was great. J R Ward is a genius when it comes to words! She really knows how to turn a sentence! The way she writes is extraordinary! Absolutely love this series and the Legacy spin-off.
Christmas HEA!!
When I read Trez’s book I was like Oh No You Didn’t!! So when I saw there would be another book and he would get his HEA I was ecstatic. This is a beautiful Christmas love story. His last book-broke my heart this one put it back together. If your a die hard J.R. Ward fan like I am this is a must read. Lassiter is my favorite character in this series. When he shows up it’s always a laugh out loud moment. I can’t wait until he gets his own book.
Still Excellent!!!!
Another great book in the BDB universe! I love all of the characters, the storylines and the plots of each individual book. Excellent writing with characters that are so well fleshed out that they actually seem like real people. Love the Shadows ... I even cried a little at the end. Perfect!
Well deserved
Having your one true loved ripped from you by a horrible disease would nearly kill anyone. Surviving after that is a day by day thing. With the magic of literature and the BDB world, anything is possible. Another well written story with all the wonderful elements we love from The Warden.
What's not wonderful about the Black Dagger Brotherhood?
If you haven't read the Black Dagger Brotherhood Books you are missing something really fine. J.R. Ward writes a wicked story. Her characters are 3D, and her situations are totally believable once you accept the existence of Vampires who hide in plain sight. This one's no exception. It's an excellent read. The paranormal world is an exciting place. Enjoy.
great author
The "WARDen" may be getting a little lax on how in depth she's writing, but it's still a good book in the BDB series. I'd like to hear more about the brothers, but the side stories are amusing little detours 'til another book is released. All in all, nice to have it in the collection.
Amazing
The idea of a scared soul is so intriguing....I love the idea of loss to find new live that holds a part of a love carried on. Trez has had it rough... our Shadow hotness. I loved this book. I hope to hear more about their life in future books. Did not disappoint as if I had any doubt
A Christmas Miracle
She has done it again!!! J.R. Brought such an amazing story of grief, love and believing in miracles. Therese and Trez's story was heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. Throw in that sassy, flashy angel Lassiter and the rest of the BDB Gang and it's a perfect Christmas story.
Heart wrenching
I have loved trez since i read the shadows and when selena passed it was so absolutely heart wrenching reading this and seeing so much go on in trez head and heart were so hard to read but i loved him and teressa as a couple fantastic read J.R. Ward never disappoints
Trez
I'm so happy that Trez got his HEA. I cried so much at the end of The Shadow books. Get this book and all of the other books by J.R. Ward, you won't be disappointed. Now we have to wait until March of 2020 to get other of her great books (The Sinner). can't wait.
Great book.... as usual
I love all of her books, especially the BDB ones. This one wasn't one I was looking forward to, because these aren't my favorite characters or ones I care much about, but it's part of a bigger story and therefore very necessary. That said, it was better than I was expecting, and set the stage for the next book very nicely. I can't say much more without spoiling. But it's worth it.
Amazing
What can I say this was such an amazing story so much twist and turns and the love and lost that Trez has gone through was heartbreaking but in the end everything worked out and I have to say I love that freaking fallen angel Lass he is the best cant wait for him to have a book too🥰
As great as ever!!
The BLACK DAGGER BROTHERHOOD is without a doubt the best series that I have ever read and this book does not disappoint. Great storyline and moves so fast I was shocked to be finished so quickly. I am always sorry when I finish one of these books, I want more.
Loved it
No one else writes like J.R. Ward. I love love love BDB series including the Shadows. I am so excited for Trez and iAm. Trez prior story was so sad. Niw they both have families. Now I have to wait for March but so excited for it. Thank you again J.R. Ward for another fantastic book.
Finally
I have always liked Trez and his character. When I read the Shadows book and he lost his Salena as he did I was heartbroken and devastated. Since then I have felt like he should get a redo. In this book he did. I think it got a little rushed towards the end. But he got his happy ending that he deserved. So I cant complain.
Great Addition to the Black Dagger Brotherhood
Where Winter Finds You by J.R. Ward was a great addition to the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Trez and Therese made a likable couple, that tugged at the heart strings. I am looking forward to the next installment in the BDB series.
Trez/Selena/Therese part 2
Yes they are reunited, yes Trez confesses that she looks like Selena, a fight happens, feelings are questioned, outside drama brings things into focus, and finally they get together as Trez & Therese and have a happy start to a new life. Ready for more and so glad I can stop crying now.
Great read!
Another great read from JR Ward! Thanks for this Christmas Miracle and giving the characters in this book, peace. I loved every second of this book! Lovely story, and unexpected as well! Now, please write faster. Hard to fill in the in between’s of your Brotherhood’s adventures. More please!
Disappointing
I love the brotherhood storyline I have everyone of the books but with this one I waited with anticipation premier ordered couldn't wait expecting a Christmas story that would allow us the readers to have a peep at all of our brotherhood characters and
Loved💙💙💙💙💙
I loved this book! Trez and iAm are two of my favorite characters because they are two of the characters that have most evolved throughout this series. For these two blooded brothers to now both have their HEA is amazing. Especially enjoyable is the see how Xhex’s relationship with them has grown. Above all, who doesn’t love Lassiter!
Another Great BBD Story
WOW!! J.R Ward definitely knows how to pack some punch to her stories, I was so extremely happy to see that TRES FINALLY GOT his HEA. The more I read this series, the more I want.. yet I do not want it to end EVER!!
It goes without saying....spectacular.
The full story is an enjoyable intense up & down, emotional roller coaster. I was devastated by the first book & needed time to come down fro that. This book tied up all the loose ends & climaxed in a truly satisfying happy ending.
Lasi-Clause
JR Ward! Oh my gosh I loved this Christmas story about Trez and Therese’s story. And I just knew that Lassiter could do something to help. I laughed and cried and was so happy to hear from the whole bunch. They are kinda like family to me at this point.
Fantastic as usual
The Warden hits it out of the park again. She has “righted” the terrible sadness brought on from a book before and gave us a HEA we really needed. Just wish it worked for Wellsie. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend.
Another great read
This is another great read in the series. Your emotions will get a work out, as well as you frustration level. There were some things that didn't make sense, but that didn't take away from the storyline. The main characters were interesting and complicated. The storyline was a roller coaster. On that I thoroughly enjoyed.
I want to live in the BDB world!
I love the BDB world. Lassiter giving Selena back to Trez was the best. I loved that they new one another instantly even if it took a while to settle. Trez was hurting, and Lassiter was able to help. Loved loved loved!
More Trez
This book was good in places, but boring to me in other places. I was confused by the time line of Selena returning when she had just died. It was something to do with the BDB, so it was good in those places.
Not worth the time.
Not typical BDB. Slow and not interesting. Was very surprised.
Another winner!
I was worried about Trez and Selena would get their NEW without it being cheesy or weird. I should not have worried. It was done and explained perfectly. You may want to have your tissue ready though.
Great book and experience
Fast shipping. Ward does it again with the lastest installment of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Tres finally gets his happy ever after and it's wonderfully written. Well worth the price and the time to read. Highly recommend.
Happy
Even tho this was a short story ,J R Ward always delivers a great read .... what a surprise to have Selena and Trez have their HEA I’ve read all of her books and will continue .......
How can you not love J.R.Ward
There is so much I love about Trez and Therese story. Undying love being the theme. But one word still sticks out and makes me laugh Lassi-Claus. Curious? Then you have to read this book.
A solid 3-4 stars
Those first couple of chapters were tough to get through but finally the story picks up and was enjoyable. Not one of my favorites in the series but overall a good addition to the series.
DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!
As usual Warden, you did not disappoint. Thank you for bringing a happy ending for all involved in this book! I so can't wait until The Sinner comes out next year - it's going to be a longgggggggggggggggg 3 months!
I love this series
I am addicted to the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I laugh and cry with each novel! I feel like I know these people personally and want the best for them. I love the sexy brothers and the strong and caring women they love. If I was stuck on an island and only had 1 choice of a series to have with me, this would be it!
Heart Warming
Losing Selena totally wrecked Trez. No surprise. Having a lookalike show up was freaky for him. Lassiter really did a good job. Jon Matthew 2.0. Live this book. Thank you for the Christmas gift to your readers.
Oh. My. God!
This was a beautiful, tearful, and just perfect book. I read in in two days. Would have been one but I made myself wait so it wasn't over too soon. It still was but, again, so perfect.
Routing for the other brothers HEA!!
Swore I reviewed this book but 🤷♀️ Anywho loved reading this story. You love these brothers and can’t help but route for both their happiness. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Happy reading 📖!!
Vampires and an angel
The perfect Christmas story, Black Dagger Brotherhood style! Loved it! JR Ward never disappoints! The twist of a Christmas miracle had me smiling after a few tears were shed. A must-read!
Love the Warden
I can't get enough of the brotherhood and all of it's Wiley bunch of characters. So glad Trez and Selena/ Therese found their way to be together. I want The Sinner now please!!
Very excited i was able to find this book.
Thank's to amazon I'M FINALLY ABLE TO GET MORE TO MY COLLECTION FOR THIS SERIES! Very difficult , The prices are amazing on amazon and the condition is excellent , Very pleased.
Trez’s Story concludes
I love the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I am so glad Trez finally got his happy ending. He really deserved it after Selene’s sad death. The fact that Selene/Therese also got her happy ending thanks to a fallen angel rocks. I love Lassiter. I am waiting on his love story.
Another excellent read!
I love the Black Dagger Brotherhood series! It just keeps getting better and better. Please keep them coming! If you haven’t read the series yet, you are missing out.
Xmas my way
I love JR ward I think she is a fantastic writer.I especially love the way you're drawn in and feel what the characters feel, I cry I laugh I get angry all for them.
Nicely wrapped up early Xmas gift
Miracles do happen. So happy that Trez and Therese got their happy ending! Lassiter is a kick and always has something up his sleeve! Cannot wait for the next book!
Trez gets his HEA!
As it seems with most BDB readers, The Shadows tore me up when Trez lost Selena. Where Winter Finds You picks up shortly after Trez and Therese meet. As their story unfolds we see several of the BRB characters, including our favorite fallen angel. While I did not get as emotional reading this book as I did The Shadows, the feels were definitely there! Enjoy your Christmas in Caldwell!
Apparently not enough words in the story!
Why am I getting half a book? Love this series but also love a big fat book... so why are we purchasing a book that only has writing on half the page? The font is huge and there 1 1/2 inch margins on my hardcover? Very disappointing!
Tears
This one brought on the ugly crying for me. Not just once but several times throughout this story. I was heartbroken when Selena died. Now Trez gets his HEA. With a little help from a certain angel.
Warden delivers again
This story was a beautiful reunion for 2 characters that desperately deserved it. Set in the BDB world we get to get a glimpse of how they celebrate the holidays. It is a perfect slide of BDB life served up for the fans of the series.
Love That There Are Second Chances
Where Winter Finds You: A Caldwell Christmas by J.R. Ward is an amazing story of second chances. I am so grateful that she believed in Trez enough to write another story for him. Ward's wisdom in her characters never ceases to amaze.
Another good story....
Love the BD Brotherhood series and this was a good one. So glad we got to see a glimpse of some of the original brothers. Can’t wait for the next one!
Wow!!
Trez and Therese's story was a rollercoaster of emotions! It was heart wrenching at times. J.R.'s story telling is amazing! I highly recommend it!!!!
Trez
As always, a beautiful, heart-wrenching look into the BDB lives. I was so worried about how Trez would get through Selena’s death. I was not expecting the ending that I got—a great freaking book.
Another excellent book in this series.
I am a fan of this series. This is more love story than battle filled. It's an enjoyable love story in the BDB world. Nobody writes liked JRWard.
A Winner
Yes this is the J.R. Ward I love. This is the book I have been waiting for and it was so worth it. The book reflects all I love about the BDB, great story and characters you love and cheer for
Love it!
This book! The healing of a broken heart and the connecting of two souls that will always recognize each other. It was a wonderful read and a fabulous addition to the series!
BDB at its best
Its great to go back and remember just how good the brothers can be, but add in Lassiter the Angel and his antics and this is a great story
Good book as usual
Good inbetween book. So glad JR Ward came back and gave Trez his happy ending. He was so lost without his Queen. Through it all he had his family watching over him. And Lassiter!
Best paranormal series ever!!
My favorite paranormal series!! JR Ward keeps it rolling along, introducing new characters and keeping the "old" stories going strong!!
Another J.R. Ward winner
The first chapter is absolutely beautiful. Lassiter is absolutely awesome. And Trez breaks may heart. Great Christmas book. You won't be disappointed.
This booked returns to the story about the Shadow Trez
I absolutely love J. R Ward and the Brotherhood series. I was excited to find out this book continued the story about the Shadow Trez Latimer.
A sweet Christmas treat
This is a nice little read to tie up the Trez story line. It does have allot of fan service to it, but the story is still a great one.
Awesome
I loved this book. It's storyline was interesting and great reading. I started and needed to read to the end. Ward is one of my favorite authors.
Excellent Read!
Awesome book! Been waiting for Trez to get his HEA for a long time. Happy for him and his Queen!!! Will definitely read again!!
Loved it
I love all of the stories in the BDB series! So far all are exciting & steamy and are full of twists & turns that keep you on the edge of your seat.
Amazing!
As a fan of J R Ward I have yet to read a book that doesn't thrill me. Where Winter Finds You is romantic and well written. Loved It !
Not a lot of story
This is different from the other books. I almost felt she disliked her characters. A lot of waffling. Ok for a " seasonal" story.
An Angel and Christmas
Who doesn't love a Happy Christmas book and this one is good, just like all the Black Dagger stories. Thanks for the present.
Where winter finds you
As always, the Warden rocks. I loved it. Trez, I so felt for him. Lassister was incredible. I can’t wait for the Sinner. Love the Brothers
Loved it
Loved the new story of Trez. Was wonderful to see this character come full circle. From despair to excitement to peace. Loved it🔎!
Timeless
Always enjoy the brothers and a fallen angel. Intense and loving with a twist. Can't wait to continue the series
Another fabulous story
This was an exciting and lovely story, in keeping with all of JR Ward's writing. She always delivers excellence.
Great
Love this series and author. Have read from book 1, great storyline but to understand you must start with book 1.
Best Xmas story ever!
It tugged at my heartstrings. I'Am is and Trez deserve to have their lives together. Dear Lassiter is the best.
Awesome
You’re never disappointed when you read any of JR Ward books. I love all things associated with the BDB franchise.
Loved it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I needed this book. They both had to have more! Another great book to add to the Brotherhood Series. So great.
Wow
Loved the read , the ending was a surprise to a degree, looking forward to the hopefully never ending series .
Trez and Therese (Selena)
I'm never disappointed with Ms. Ward's novels. "Where Winter Finds You" was an enjoyable read - I loved it.
Facinating
This was a fantastic read, the whole series is the best story I have ever read. You just can`t stop reading it!!! J.R. Ward is the best author ever!!!!!
love this
Another wonderful book just wish she could write quicker. I want to know more about the other characters.
It made a nice holiday book to read on vacation
An enjoyable but predictable read. The conflict came very late in the book and was too easily resolved to be realistic. Please let me know if you found this review helpful.
Too short
No really. Too short. Great read but I always seem to want more of the Brotherhood than I get. Just greedy that way.
4.5 Stars
Lovely to get this book. It did drag a little in the middle but great ending. Love Lassiter all over again!
Great at usual
I was wondering when these charters were going to resurface. This was worth the wait. It brought tears and laughter, not and sadness. I couldn't put it down.
Loved it!
Awww simp!y wonderful! Short novella almost, but I read slow so I could enjoy. At times it was heart wrenching, overdraft pounding, sweet, funny, and sad. Yeah the chocolates, or cocoa, curl up and enjoy!!!!!
Avenged at last.
JR Ward is a masterful story teller. I loved this book. Hopefully she will incorporate Therese’s family into the future story lines of the black dagger brotherhood series. Maybe the brother?
Love Reborn
Another in depth view of never taking life for granted. Stop and watch it snow once in a while. The beauty of a snowflake. A struggle of living and finding love in a big city.
Gooood
I have loved this series since I read the first book. Anxiously awaiting the next book. Have it on order!!!
Lassi-Claus delivers!
Probably my favorite in the series! A definite Must read in the BDB series that will not disappoint. Way to go Lassi-Claus!
Great book
This book was very entertaining and kept me wanting to keep reading. I would definitely recommend this book to all my friends.
Caldwell
I can never wait for all the books! They grip you and you will not be able to stop reading!
The n book we have been waiting for
Ward is such a delight to read and she never disappoints! I have been eagerly awaiting this book and she did not let me down!
Exciting as Always
Love the characters in the Black Dagger Series. They are all so unique. The men are so Alpha and the Women are Strong. I can't put them down once I start reading. Can't wait for the next one.
Loved it!
This was the first book I have read in forever. Love these characters and this series. It is like checking in on old friends.
Love it
Love this book and so happy to see something good happen for Trez!!!! Lassiter is become quite the man! No spoilers here because I hate spoilers but if you love this series read this book!
Great! Of course!
My favorite Author! This is more of a novella type book. However, if you like the series, it’s a must read!
Happy Ending
I wish it were longer but it gave Trez a happy ending and it was a lovely story!
Love that withstood the flames
When love is meant to be even death can't stop it. This book was really good and touching. Trez and Therese ( Selena) are perfect for each other.
great read
I love this series. doN't want to give spoilers so I will just say it was a good read.
Love is always around the corner!
Excellent story. It brought tears to my eyes near the end. Love this series!
BDB
I love everything about this book and the series that the book goes with.
Love all of the books about the BDB
Her writing is great as usual. Cant wait for the next book in the series and to find out more about the Destroyer
Trez and Theresa
So happy to see this happy ending come to pass. They deserved this continuation of finding each other.
Lassiter Saves The Story
Not my favorite. I found the story a bit too convenient, however Lassiter's appearance added another star to my rating.
Great transaction
This is my favorite author anb to receive her book early was plus. Book came as expect and on time thank you.
Never a Disappointment!
JR Ward ALWAYS delivers! Can't get enough of the BDB! Eagerly waiting her next book.
Haven't we done this before?
A little disappointed. Seems like I've read this story before.
Another hit!!
I really loved this side story. I was so happy for Trez to find happiness again! And Lasiter made me laugh out loud at the end.
Great Series
as always a great book of the world of the BDB universe
Beautiful story for Christmas
I loved this story, It has left me feeling the Christmas spirit more so than I have in a few years. J.R. Ward never disappoints.
As described
As described
Lassiter for the win!!
I loved this story! And Lassiter is made of awesome!!
Amazing
Really enjoyed Trez's story. The warden did it again with another top book. Everything I wanted an more. Amazing read.
A must read for JR Ward fans
Everything about this book is wonderful. It brought tears to my eyes and that is rare. I loved it
Always great
Great as usual. Heart wrenching too. But always good.
Too short almost hallmark
Could have read a few more chapters. I love the way lassitter sets things up. All in all this is a nice Christmastime story.
Great read!
My favorite author has done it again. J.R. Ward never disappoints with the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I can't get enough.
Seller Rocks
This story of Trez, from the Brotherhood, is amazing.
Totally pleased
One of my ultimate favorite series & author
Disappointed
I’m glad these two characters for their HEA, but this story felt rushed. I am a longtime reader of Ward and the past 4 ish books are getting tired, rushed, and lacking the emotional invoking stories of previous books.
Great book.
Loved this installment in the series.
❤ Love My Warden ❤
I will buy and read any book the Warden puts out without a second thought.
OMG!!!!
Oh my, I cried happy tears while reading this. Loved the series.

Where winter finds you
I don’t care if Lassiter has questionable taste in television,I still think he rocks. This book is awesome. I love this series!
Love this series in all forms!
As love stories goes, this does have a twist but I do love the characters in this series and the world in which they live.
Worth the wait
I Love Trez and Selina's story, true love with find a ways beyond death. Absolutely beautiful and heartwarming all year long.

JR WARD
Love this series.
J R Ward never disappoints.
Love this series. Grabs your interest from the 1st page.
New characters in the Lessor battle
This book was about average for JR Ward. Two new characters were introduced and the book mostly followed them. I really like the series I have noticed that 3/4 of book is build up to climax and then a rapid finish. I would recommend the book but I guess I just want more!!
The Black Dagger Brotherhood is one of the genre's best series, J.R.Ward never disappoints.
Another stellar offering from the pen of J.R.Ward. Resolves a heartbreak and gives us a first miracle from the Brotherhood's new Deity. Not to be missed.
Trez

Thought the book was great
