They really put most of the best of Bill Watterson's strips in this one
I got this for the grandkid. I have the complete 3 volume set, but he wanted one for himself that he could read in his room, so I got him the hardcover and he reads it every night. They really put most of the best of Bill Watterson's strips in this one. All the main characters, most of Calvin's craziest schemes, and all of the comics charm, His characters are hilarious and thoughtful at the same time. It's the best comic series of all time. Well, The Far Side is pretty good, too.....

Bought this as a gift and had to peruse it, naturally. I couldn't stop laughing at most of those wonderful Watterson comic strips. Priceless! If you have children, you won't regret reading this spiral bound book of comic strips, over and over. Does wonder for the spirits!
Great way to revisit C&H
My kids love Calvin and Hobbes, and carry this book around with them everywhere. The library binding hardcover version of this book stands up to all of the abuse a 6 and 10 year old can dish out. We ordered all 3 of the books (essential/authoritative/indispensable) and I think all of the C&H strips I remember are in there somewhere. Highly recommend for anyone who either has or was a precocious child.
