The drawings in the book were very well done, and lovely to look at. It has a neat little poster in the front page of the book. As well as small details under the illustration (for a majority of them, however not all.) More in depth details of the illustrations are listed in the back of the book. As well as a few interviews on how Kishimoto developed his characters personality and appearance. Overall the book was amazing and definitely worth the money. Would recommend this art book to any Naruto fan!

The Art of Naruto contains art done for the comic book covers and the Shonen Jump Weekly. The hard cover book is well bind and the paper stock is great. There's no dust jacket. The first page is actually a multi-fold page that unfolds to a wider page. For collectors of the manga comic book, the illustrations presented here will not be unfamiliar, except they are printed in a larger format. The colour reproduction is great. There are over 110 pages of them. A detailed step-by-step tutorial on creating the comic is included at the end. It's informative to read about the workflow and type of tools used to create the Naruto comic. Lastly, several pages are devoted to an interview with Masashi Kishimoto. It talks mainly about the characters and a little on himself. (More pictures are available on my blog. Just visit my Amazon profile for the link.)

I actually used this to cut out pictures for some decorative artwork, and it is great! Also has a little stories about each picture and when/why it was created. The artwork is bright and vibrant and I recomend it for any Naruto fan!!

Kishimoto Masashi's /Naruto/ art book is just as it sounds: Another manga \ pictures from the creator art book. It's been done before. The only people who would probably appreciate it are art students interested in comics, or fans of the popular Naruto series. However, for those who do buy this book, well, it's beautiful, to say the very least. The book separated into sections, each containing a poem or snippet I assume was written by Kishimoto-san. For the publishers, VIZ Media, what I praise most about this book is the fact that they left the original Japanese print that went along with some of the pictures and translated off to the side. For some, this might be a nuisance, but for a student of the language, it's a good way to test themselves. Now, onto the book itself. Most of the pictures are cover spreads or pictures that have appeared on the cover of /Shonen Jump/ magazine. Thus, they have more than likely been seen by fans before. However, these pictures are uninterrupted by the text that goes on the covers of that magazine, and have - in the back of the book, sort of like the index - an explanation from Kishimoto-san himself explaining the thought processes and work that went into every picture. The art showcases pictures drawn up to volume twenty-four of the manga. The extras include an interview with Kishimoto-san basically speaking more of the creation of Naruto and ideas he puts into motion. Also, there is a step-by-step feature of how to draw the front cover using the same tools as Kishimoto-san himself. In the end, this book is a great buy for Naruto fans and those who want to learn from Kishimoto-san's style. Or for those who just respect the art. However, in the end, it was made for fans of the series, just as all manga art books are.

I purchased this book for my boyfriend who loves watching the anime. I wanted him to also appreciate all the hard work put into the artwork too and he loves this book! It's even made him re-read the anime all over again from the beginning. Even though I'm not a Naruto fan, I really enjoyed going through this whole art book. It's amazing how there are so many intricate details that are carefully constructed to make sure a wonderful artwork. This book even inspired me to draw some anime ^_^

this is a collection of his first ever illustrations through-out the first NARUTO series (NARUTO: shippuuden is the sequel)! i enjoy looking at his old work. i love how he portrays each character. i'm especially drawn to Naruto's rebellious attitude in each picture. as a bonus, masashi kishimoto reveals a walk-through process of his drawings. he puts a lot of work into his art and it definitely shows! this is a must-have for any NARUTO fan! i'll cherish this and NARUTO ILLUSTRATION BOOK(Shippuuden) forever. i'd like to draw some fan art in this style. this book is perfect for character reference!

This is a perfect item to be added to your collection if you are a Naruto die-hard fan. I said "die-hard fan", so if your just one Naruto fan, this one is probably not something you should quite consider to buy, since you'd think it'd waste your money later on. This one is a collection of previously published Naruto arts, whether in Shounen Jump, tankonbon covers, and such. So if you want all those in one book, so this is for you. All in all, I think this book would make a Naruto die-hard fans and Naruto fans under 13 happy. Period.

I ordered this book for my son who is a big Naruto fan and being a avid artist myself I was surprised by this book. The images were full page and clear and very colorful. My son loves to draw these characters and all though this book doesn't really show you how to draw these characters, he has no trouble using them to draw his own rendition. Great book from a very talented artist!

This is the best art book for the Naruto Manga available thus far (4/19/2011). The images are high quality and detailed. The second art book seems to have taken a bit of a dive since the artist has simplified his style more (it looks more like the anime) perhaps that is what he was going for though. Keep in mind, this artbook mostly showcases the Naruto cast when they were still younger, before part 2.

This book as OKay, if you like pinups..this book is for you. No bios indidvidually on each chacarter. Theres a quote or haiku on certain characters and an interview with the creator who explains certain characters like Naruto,Sasuke and Sakura..the usual but not much depth on other characters and villains. If you want no bios on characters, no individual sketches..just a bunch of pinups,explaination about the pinups,haikus and creator interview..This is the book for you. Dont disappoint yourself thinking you going to findout more about one of your favorite characters.Not in this book but If you love the Art of Naruto than Buy This!!

I absolutely adore this book. It is well made, and the pages are big and boldly colored. It's a bit heavy, so I have to be careful, but it stands up pretty well to abuse. I have no regrets over buying it; I love it. I have this one, too, which includes Shippuden!

Worth every penny! Along with the art there is included a step by step explanation how Kishimoto is creating his pieces.

This artbook is essential for any fan of Masashi Kishimoto and Naruto! Quality, excellent printing and beautiful illustrations. Buy with no regrets.

Great for any fan of the series

If you are a DIE hard fan then I suggest this is the book for you. I thought Naruto was great when I was younger and now in shippuden it is even better. The sad part is this book only covers the early era of the Naruto universe.

My daughters (pre-teens and teens) likes these types of books. It's not my favotite but it's theirs. And to encourage their love in reading, I do allow them to read some books of their choices in additional to the more academic choices books.

I'd been waiting for this artbook to come over for some time and I'm very pleased. It took me awhile to truly appreciate Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto but now that I'm into it, it is my favorite manga. And the art of Naruto is deceptively simple. In this first artbook, a fan can begin to see how complex yet clear Kishimoto's art is. One thing I really like about what Viz Media is doing for the artbooks, both FMA and now Naruto, it is that they publish it with the hardcover. I really like that. Otherwise, the quality is pretty much equal to the original Japanese printing of the art and that part is gorgeous. A bonus is the section near to the back where it is demonstrated what Masashi Kishimoto uses to create Naruto. All in all, a very fine and very nice addition to my ever growing manga collection.

This was a really amazing book, by my standards. I love drawing manga, and I'm an avid art fanatic too, with my tastes ranging from Tite Kubo and Masashi Kishimoto to Tim Burton. So I believe anybody who is a fan of Naruto, to people who enjoy art, and to people who want lots of references to draw from, this is the perfect book for you. Naruto fans will obviously love this, seeing as it could be a collectable, and has interviews with Mr Kishimoto on the back. Fellow artists and almost everyone else will love the colors in the book. So, either way, anybody can love this book.

Cool I love naruto I am fan of naruto

This book's art is top notch. Kishimoto's full color panels are collected here and they don't disappoint. What really makes this book worthwhile though is the Q&A and commentary from Kishimoto and the step by step guide through his creative process. Well worth the price.

I love manga art books for Naruto, One Piece, and Dragonball. I got this book when I was in High School, and I love it! Masashi Kisihimoto is awesome!

I was impressed with both the quality and contents of this book. Mr. Kishimoto not only provides readers with amazing art (colorful and huge!), but also a variety of thoughts and concepts behind each of the 75 drawings (how they relate to the overall Naruto world, technical art details, etc.) There are also bonuses: a detailed description of how the cover art was made, a gallery (small, greyscale) of Shonen Jump covers featuring Naruto, and interview material. Believe it!

Nice book five out of five stars and has great fantastic art that's fun to look at and my little Naruto fan loves the book. Definitely a great book that I recommend.

Short and sweet: If you like the artwork of Naruto, you won't be disappointed with this book. I especially liked Masashi Kishimoto's walkthrough of the cover art and his interpretation of squad 7 as a rock band (although I would have made Sasuke the guitarist as the guitarist and singer are always vying for the camera's attention but that's a personal choice). Several of the pieces would be excellent poster fodder. Highly recommended!

The art in the art book is wonderful and all by the author/artist himself, Masashi Kishimoto. In the back of the book it has comments on each art piece from the artist and also shows what tools he uses. For any Naruto-art fan, this is a must-have.

I also love to draw, etc. Although this book doesn't really teach to how to draw the characters, it is still a great book to just go through and say, "Wow, that's a really great cover!" So, If you're a fan, then i recommend this. If not... then... go find something else...

I bought this for my son, who loves Naruto, but I have to say it is a beautiful book. Although I am not a manga reader, the artwork is amazing, and the weight of the paper and construction of the book are quality.

Absolutely wonderful product, the pages are bright and the interviews interesting! A wonderful book to have, I'm glad I bought it. It didn't come torn or dented, it was in perfect condition! Even the corners of the book cover weren't crushed.

¿Que puedo decir?, Amo la obra de Masashi Kishimoto, este libro de arte en particular te llevará a recordar portadas, concept art y muchas ilustraciones sobre Naruto, no la Shippuden pero antes de esta. Es simplemente hermosa, cuenta con 145 páginas sin contar unas de arte y unos stickers que vienen, además en las últimas páginas vienen comentarios de Masashi Kishimoto sobre la mayoría de las ilustraciones que vienen dentro del libro de arte. Simplemente hermoso y no regrets at all. :') ❤️

El paquete llegó mega cuidado, pata los a antes de Naruto lo recomiendo si les gustó la primera serie, cuando era pequeño. Además vienen fotografías "behind the scenes" de los utensilios que utiliza para entintar.

A maior parte do livro é composta pela arte do Kishimoto, o que não decepciona, tanto pela qualidade de impressão quanto pela qualidade dos desenhos. Ele vem no estilo mangá, ou seja, você lê "de trás pra frente". No fim do livro há uma breve sessão de comentários do autor, em inglês, o que pode limitar o acesso para algumas pessoas, mas isso já é de se esperar, já que é um livro importado. A entrega foi rápida e o livro chegou sem nenhuma avaria.

El libro es toda una chulada, ya que para empezar contiene las ilustraciones esenciales e iconicas del autor, permitiéndote ver la evolución de sus trazos y estilo de dibujo conforme va avanzando la historia. El papel es de una excelente calidad y las traducciones son correctas. El articulo al final del libro es muy interesante y te permite darte una idea del trabajo que requirieron cada uno de los dibujos que ahí se muestran. La pasta dura te ayuda a que el libro se conserve mejor y el tamaño de este también ayuda a que puedas ver todas las ilustraciones en todos sus detalles. Gran producto, tenia que ser Japones!!

É um ótimo produto para colecionadores e para os que admiram os traços de Naruto. Como se espera de um Artbook, os desenhos e a qualidade das imagens são ótimas. Para os que não são aficionados mas gostam da série e querem ter um artigo, é uma boa pedida e provavelmente você encontrará imagens que você ainda não viu. Para os que aspiram e curtem desenhar, tem uma pequena demonstração da produção da arte de capa e explicações do Kishimoto sensei sobre as artes no livro. Ps: um dos diferenciais deste para os outros dois livros da série é que este é feito em capa dura, eu particularmente prefiro pois dá um "ar" mais premium.

The fun and colourful art of the Naruto series in its early days is still really charming and fun, however almost every illustration or drawing is of the protagonist: Naruto Uzumaki. The very few amount of pages the book takes to show us other characters end up with Sasuke or Sakura. I could probably count the amount of times fan-favourite characters show up on one hand, and they are usually in a simple line-up with the rest of the cast. Since characters like Shikamaru, Shino, or Rock Lee rarely show up it left me a little dissapointed.

I grew up with naruto and so this artbook, in a way flashes my childhood before me. So, I was very nostalgic while viewing each and every artwork. I liked the interview section with Masashi Kishimoto. Amazing! Just fulfilling...

An awesome collection of artwork done by Masashi Kishimoto. With close to 150 pages this hardcover art book is a must for any Naruto fan. I wouldn't consider myself a big fan of the manga/ anime but I am not disappointed in the least with the beautiful art on display in this book!

Esta increíble. Compré los 3 artbook, pero he de decir que en cuanto a calidad este es mejor pues la pasta es dura por lo que le pretege más. Las ilustraciones son geniales y además tiene una entrevista con Kishimoto. Vale mucho la pena.

Un título estupendo y una necesaria adición a cualquier colección seria de manga / arte gráfico. Esta colección de los primeros trabajos de Kishimoto viene en una bella presentación de buen tamaño, pasta dura y hojas a color de alta calidad (y grosor).
