Surprises never stop. You know there will be dynamite but you don't know when! Great supporting cast, especially the sheriff and his horse. Don't miss this series!

Loved this storyline, Sinful knows how protect themselves, lol. Too funny with casserole eating Godzilla landing himself a large land-fish, an excellent cliffhanger ending. I recommend this book and series. Excellent narrator.

I suspect it’s dangerous business playing Santa in a cozy mystery in December. This is the second one I’ve read where the guy in red ends up dead! However, this St. Nick isn’t too jolly. In fact, he’s an imposter who, for nefarious reasons, decommissioned the guy who traditionally plays Santa and took his place. Let’s just say that when his true identity is revealed, no one is too sad to bid him adieu. His demise does bring a major spark of curiosity to Fortune and her associate detectives, and soon they find themselves on the case to find out why this shady character was in Sinful and who wanted him dead. The mystery is well-plotted. Once some major parts of the story are revealed you can get a good picture of what the real motive is going to be. That said, there are several key suspects and you’d be hard-pressed to figure out just which one is guilty. You might also find it hard to want any of them to be guilty too! Clues are revealed at a good pace and distracting red herrings are thrown in as well to keep the reading sleuth well-occupied. Nice and twisty! As it’s the festive season, our favourite characters are busy planning for the big day and hope to have the mystery resolved by then. Ida Belle is trying to fend off the wedding planners and Fortune and Carter still work at figuring out their personal relationship and professional situations. I must say, poor Carter really gets the short end of that stick. Again not enough character development with Fortune and Gertie. And Celia’s underpants can be retired from the running joke category. That said, I still do really enjoy spending some reading time in Sinful and catching up with the zany residents.

The end was spectacular and I did not see that coming. I love how Fortune dealt with a case of abuse and trying to protect a baby from the mothers abuse. I could not put this book down and can't wait to see what Jana comes up with in the rest of the series.

She's done it again. Swamp Santa is the best and craziest Christmas book you'll ever read. Jana DeLeon has created the characters in her Miss Fortune series to surpass any others in her comedic/mystery genre. Start with the very first book and I dare you not to get the rest of them. From Fortune Redding (former CIA assassin in hiding) to Ida Belle and Gertie (former ??? who don't talk about what they used to do) to Deputy Sheriff Carter LeBlanc (who just can't keep them out of law enforcement business) to the host of other characters who live in Sinful, Louisiana - DeLeon makes you want to put your house up for sale, be their friend and cohort in crime-solving. In my opinion (and I used to be a big fan) Jana DeLeon is miles ahead of Janet Evanovich and Stephanie Plum in making you laugh out loud until tears stream down your face. Read her books - you won't be sorry!

I LOVE this series! They are quick reads, the characters are colorful, and the situations are hilarious - and serious - in turns.

Fortune Redding came out as ex-CIA several books back and now, as a 'retired' agent she's running her own detective agency in Sinful, LA. Her significant other, Deputy and ex-Marine, Carter Leblanc, is kind of her competitor and cohort at the same time. Ida Belle and Gertie are her senior citizen sidekicks. As the 16th book in the series, with only 1 or 2 kind of lemons, Jana DeLeon has delivered pretty consistently good stories and push the Fortune overarching plot along to where she is no longer hiding. The books have changed some too, this is more mystery with humor as opposed to more humor and slapstick than mystery. It's one of her better-plotted stories, but not as funny as the early books. Read and enjoy! Note: The $5.99 price is pushing the limit for a book less than 300 pages. DeLeon will be losing sales soon just like Janet Evanovich.

Although there were plenty of Gertie-isms and pratfalls, this book wasn’t as outrageously hilarious as past books. But the mystery was much more twisty and a good mystery story is sometimes better than the laughs. I will admit that some of Gertie’s epic holiday fails were easy to see coming. I won’t mention the details, but there is a parrot involved in one of them. And since it was so obvious, I wasn’t surprised at the outcome and it wasn’t nearly as funny as Ms. Deleon’s first couple of Miss Fortune Books. That being said, I liked that the mystery of the “Santa Killer” wasn’t easily solved by the reader — There was no “obvious suspect” to pick out from the bunch. All the clues were there — sort of — but the killer’s motive wasn’t revealed until right at the end. Then it all made sense. Good Job, Jana! P.S.: I can hardly wait for the next in the series!

Christmas in Sinful is as eventful as ever, but not in a normal way. The holidays take a turn when the unidentified Santa is found dead sitting at the Christmas Gala waiting for the children to tell him their wishes. When the death was pronounced a homicide, Fortune and her employees Ida and Gertie are itching to solve the case, but cannot take the risk of getting involved and riskung impeding the investigation. Through a series of events that fortunately lead them to the Herberts, who are the areas local gangsters (who are not all bad), they hire Fortune to solve this since the thought is that it somehow involves children or a child. This the Chaos begins! A must read for the Fortune Redding lovers!

Jana has outdone herself! How does she think up stories like this? I'm certainly glad she does. It all ends good and all are happy except a couple of people...and then BAM! She sends us another zinger we never saw coming! Jana you seem so NORMAL when we talk about your family, your life etc on Facebook. Then you write this amazing crazy confusing and very interesting story! Plus all of the hilarious activity that puts Celia in the middle of Gertie's innocent accidents! I stayed up all night reading until 4:20 am Tuesday morning and had to stop reading at the Saran Wrap part and call in late to work to get a few hours sleep! I waited until this evening (Wednesday) to finish. I figured out some of the important details, but not all of the VERY important information that you'll find out. This was a mind boggling and incredible story! Thank you Jana DeLeon!

I rarely even find jokes funny, but this book was hilarious from start to finish! I laughed so hard with every chapter that my family was roaring with laughter just watching me! Keep Sinful, LA books coming! Fortune is her usual dynamic action hero self who patiently contends with Gertie's penchant for knee-jerk reaction dynamiting in every situation. Celia makes the perfect small town villain--one we all recognize. Long suffering Carter finally gets to tell Celia exactly what he, and the town, thinks of her! His law enforcement principles are once again challenged to the extreme with Fortune's favorite client, the Heberts! Big and Little Hebert loan out their hit-man Mannie for another wild New Orleans investigation trip. Will Ida Belle marry Walter before she scares him literally to death with her dangerous escapades? This is the funniest book series I have ever read in my life!

Well I just wrapped up another book in the Miss Fortune series, I hope the Author writes more , there are just 2 books left. Then what will I have to laugh about when I finish. Jana you have more writing to do! (lol) I recommend that you start with book one and continue on. You won't be able to put your book down. The only side effect are sore ribs from laughing so much.

Fortune spends her first Christmas as a civilian, but it’s far from the peaceful scenes depicted on holiday cards and Hallmark movies. At the annual town celebration, Santa Claus is found dead in his chair, and the Swamp Team 3 is eager to find answers. But their hands are tied until the local mafia hires them to get to the bottom of things, causing a lot of strain between Fortune and her boyfriend, Deputy Carter. Like the fist fifteen books, this story provided lots of laugh-out-loud moments, and I ignored my family, chores, and sleep until I got to the end.

Fortune, Ida Belle and Gertie have a new case when Santa dies as the Christmas pageant. The first twist came when they discovered Rollie wasn’t under the Santa suit and no one knew the guy who was. There was chaos and as usual Celia and Gertie ended up getting the worst of it but Swamp Team 3 solved the case once again.

I've been hooked on this series since book 1. It's amazing how much trouble Swamp Team 3 can get into and come out alive.. Harder to stay out of Carter's investigations, now that Fortune & Carter have finally gotten their act together, and she's staying in Sinful as an official P.I. Always fun when it involves Big & Little Herbert and friends. Now if only she can figure out who killed Santa, right there in front of the whole town. How can you not laughed out loud at some of Gerties antics? I don't want to spoil the fun of reading this, so I'll just say, It's a great read.

Back on track and funny as ever. I really enjoy this series and Fortune has the best set of friends EVER....as well as the best toys! Although I did start to wonder. How are all these retired ex-spies/SEALS/sharpshooters/etc. ending up in Sinful, LA? Is it something in the water (I mean, besides alligators!)? Murder and mayhem follow Fortune and her friends Gertie and Ida. I enjoy this series much more than the Stephanie Plum books which are actually, when one gets down to it, fairly sexist and rote. Not so with Fortune and the gang!

Funny and so happy she brought the Hebert's back. Wish the books were longer as it only takes hours to finish

This series is such easy reading. Each book continues to make me smile and laugh. Anyone that likes a mystery that is quirky, not to violent or R rated will enjoy these lovely ladies of Sinful

Glad they are back in town. This story had quite the twist in who did the murder and why. The book ended with the reentry of Director Morrow in the last sentence. Now I want the next book out soon!!! This book had a mysterious person impersonating the expected Santas, with no one knowing until after the fact. And baby switching before adoptions. Or were they really switched? Which woman was the real birth mother of the possibly (or possibly not) switched baby? Laugh out loud fun, as usual with Swamp Team 3.

My goodness It's almost scary the way Jana DeLeon can spin such a devious tale! You think you've got it figured out? Turn the page and have some more craziness come up. With the usual humor and the fun characters surrounding Fortune I settled in for an afternoon of adventure and laughter. I would like to see more of Carter and have him be more than the comrade/boyfriend who pops in every few chapters. His background and strength of character could add a lot to this bayou tale.

As usual this was an awesome book. It grabs you from the beginning and never lets go. You will laugh out loud and not figure it out until the author is ready to reveal it. The ending was a shock, can't wait to see what the next book brings.

Fortune goes along with Gertie and Ida Belle to all the Sinful Christmas events. Each has it's own unique style of funny, and usually Gertie is in the middle of things. Everybody gets their moment if you include ER visits, runaway horse salvage, putting out fires, and saving gators from being shot! All that laughing, and an unusual murder and mystery besides. Great writing and highly entertaining. Some responsibilities may have been forgotten during the reading of this book. It was too good to put down! Loved it!

It’s Christmas time in Sinful and everything that can go wrong does, beginning with the murder of Santa. Fans of the author will be pleased that Big, Little and evening Godzilla are included in this fast moving mystery as PI Fortune, Gertie and Ida Belle try to identify a killer. No spoilers just my recommendation that if you are new to this series be prepared to laugh long and often! Jana DeLeon is at the top of her game with this book and I most highly recommend it for your reading pleasure.

I Love all the main characters. The series has a kick butt heroine who used to be a CIA operative. Fortune's partners and best friends are two elder ladies who used to be spies in the military. Fortune's boyfriend is ex-military. And she has associates, Big and Little Hebert, who are questionable criminals. Big and Little's strong arm is a guy named Manny who is an ex-Navy seal. Love these characters!!!! And the mysteries are intriguing, multi-layered, and fast paced. Great series.

Swamp Santa ( A Miss Fortune Mystery Book 16) is a very good suspenseful mystery cinp0omedy that earned a rating of five . Fortune and her two best friends find themselves in an investigation of the murder of Santa Claus in the Christmas pageant. This installment of the Fortune Mystery series is just as good and hilarious as the other episodes. I would recommend this book to everyone who enjoys reading very good mysteries and comedies

When confronted by today's problems it's so enjoyable to escape to a place where chronic disfuncton is the norm. The Miss Fortune novels are tightly constructed with characters who have been well developed over the course of the series. I particularly enjoy reading it when visiting my relatives who live in the South. Ms. DeLeon colorfully captures the flavor and ambiance of the South. I'm sure that each region of the country has its own querks that make outside visitors go "Huh" Looking forward to the next installment in the series.

Thank you for writing these wonderful stories there the best. Always funny and thoughtful. I only get my books from kindle unlimited but yours I buy because I love them so much.

I have bought and read all the books except the last one. I will be getting it soon. They are laugh out loud in places and entertaining all the time the characters are believable but unique. I don’t usually spend this much on books but I plan on reading them again. They are like old friends.

I was referred by a friend to read this Miss Fortune series & have read the first 16 books & am now on the 17th book & not looking forward to the end as I will have to wait for the next book to come out. But it is funny, suspenseful & you never know what will happen next. I highly recommend this series to everyone!

I don’t know how Jana DeLeon thinks of the crazy situations Fortune, Ida Belle, and Gertie (esp. Gertie) get into, but they are always amazingly vivid and hilarious, and make this series always fresh and fun. The addition of the parrot, and Godzilla, even, before, help keep this series “fresh as a daisy” (as I imagine Ida Belle or Gertie would say), and I never get tired of this series. Whenever I need a “pick me up”, as well as some intrigue, there is no better series than this!

As much as I didn’t think it was possible, this series continues to get better and better with each new book! I adore Fortune, Gertie, Ida Belle, and all the colorful characters around Sinful! This book had a very interesting mystery, with a few twists and turns, as well as wonderful Christmas adventures and hijinks! Can’t wait for the next Fortune mystery! I love reading this series. It is always good for some hearty laughs and a few chuckles along the way. This installment took me longer, I had a hard time getting through the first half of the book, but then, it took off finally. For those of you who enjoy this series, it's worth the purchase. For newcomers, start at the beginning. Without the background, it just won't be as much fun to read.

Miss Fortune and the Sinful crew hit it out of the park in Swamp Santa! Not only are the comic bits hysterical, the mystery, involving the Big and Little, is wonderful. So is the tension between Fortune and Carter -- now that she's a PI, and on the "other side" in this grand book. And if that's not enough, the last few lines of the novel will shock and awe fans. As stated, one of the best in an already terrific series.

Jana, have read every one of your books with Fortune, Ida Belle and Gertie's having good intentions, but somehow always creating chaos. Can't get enough of wondering from one page to the next what will happen to the girls staying one step ahead of Carter. This is your best book yet even though I said the same thing about the last one "Swamp Spook". Just hope you will continue this series as your fans (like me) can't wait to read the next one!!

I really love all the stories and the situations they all get into. I have recommended the Miss Fortune books to all my friends. Can't wait till the next book come out. I can picture ma and some of my friends and being the crazy ladies in these books. Keep the books coming. They are fantastic and so hard to put down once you start reading them. The last two books in this series seemed to have gotten lost in dialogue. I missed the action and laughing out loud as I was reading. I am so happy that Swamp Santa has gone back to making me laugh out loud. I tried to read this slowly, but couldn’t wait to read the next chapter. Thanks Jana for getting me back to laughing and enjoying the ladies in their adventures! I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Fortune and her besties are always up to an investigation. This time it involved a dead Santa. Who done it and why? Getting to the bottom of this question took them in many different directions. First leading them back to one of there old criminal eliminates. Making for a interesting start. Big & Little with good old Manny. It's a good read.

I didn't think that Jana Deleon could keep the characters , plots, and humor going. She out did herself with this book. There were so many twist and turns that every page was something new. The characters were still funny. The romance was still there. If you want to read a book you can't put down this is the one.

This is a great series...this is my third time around. I find these books to be very funny but at the same time very interesting in the way the story layout.

There's no shortage of hilarity with Gertie in the mix and I can't wait to find out what happens next! I consider these characters part of my extended family. If you are looking for a character similar to Stephanie Plum, except without all the explosions, then this is the book. Her two senior cohorts are hilarious. This was my 1st book by this author, but not my last.

Fortune is no longer a CIA Agent. Life is slower, and her new life as a PI has not really taken off. Although Carter is less than enthusiastic, he recognizes that Fortune is legally permitted to choose and work for her own clients. With Gertie and Ida Belle as employees, life is as hilarious and challenging as ever. Throw in Carter’s concerns and position as the local deputy, well, one can not imagine how this adventure will play out!

Mercy! Another fantastic book full of mischief and belly laughing scenes. As a little girl I wanted to be Wonder Woman...as an adult, I want to be Fortune Redding! This book has it all... A Kick butt heroine, sexy alpha male, the best friends ever, and small town trouble that keeps the pages turning. If you haven’t read this series, start with the first book and get ready for a crazy adventure!

The mix of action, intrigue and humor keep me reading the Miss Fortune series. Though slightly less enjoyable to read since Fortune left the CIA, I have hopes the action and humor will pick back up in the future, especially in light of the revelation at the end of the book.

I love this quirky series. Fortune, Ida Belle, and Gertie are in the holiday spirit as only it can be celebrated in Sinful. When Santa is killed at the Christmas program, Fortune wants to investigate but does not have a client until Big and Little are contacted. The only qualm I have with the story is the ending.

I love Jana DeLeon and this book is amazing. I keep thinking there can't be much more but she keeps hitting homeruns. These books are funny but have a depth to them that I cannot fully explain· They hit home to so many if us that aren't girlie girls and show the value of true friendship and also that friends do not always look the way you expect them. Rock on swamp girls, we love you!

If I could give Jana ten stars I would. Loved the book. Fortune, Ida Belle and Gertie get hired by Big and Little to solve a murder which puts Carter's knickers in a knot. Jana does a wonderful job at describing the antics of Gertie, Ida Belle and Fortune during the Christmas activities in Sinful and you don't stop laughing. Also, did not see that ending coming at all! Great job Jana!

Fortune and her gang definitely have it going on. Even though I can't stand Celia, she is definitely good for some laughs, she doesn't disappoint. Gertie is a hoot as always. Love the relationship between Carter and Fortune, but would love to have a little more loving going on with them. Now, the ending totally threw me. I can't wait for the next book, I know it's going to be AWESOME.

The continuation of Fortune, Ida Bell and Gertie continues with investigating a dead santa. This book was great as it had the majority of the characters we have come to love in it that are not always in the other books: Ally, Big, Little, and Mannie. We were just missing the swamp bar in this one. Ending was a great one and has me anxiously awaiting the next in the series.

Such easy and fun reads. Love these books. Best ever! The lovely ladies are just a joy and I wish I lived in Sinful.

Got to love Deleon. If you don't laugh and yell no in at least one place your not reading her books right. The first chapter alone is worth reading the rest of the book. Gertie and her parrot take the first chapter and the events are so fun. Things will be boring at our get to gathers after read Jana's story. Fire crackers at bay rides, and gators at caroling. Good book as usual.

Fortune, Gertie and Ida are my heroes. I love the intricate way DeLeon weaves her tales and I have yet to come across a story in this series where I don’t laugh out loud. I reread and enjoy this series over and over again. Keep on writing Ms DeLeon and I’ll keep reading them. Well worth your money. Go on and give this and her other books a try. You won’t be disappointed.

I absolutely LOVE this series. Such a fun yet exciting original story line with each book. You have to read them in order, but you will be clearing your calendar when the next one comes out! The characters are so lovable and well defined, I feel like I know them and would recognize them if I saw them. You will have a blast reading this series!

I just found Jana towards the end of this year and quickly sped through all the books in this series. This one, just like the others, doesn't disappoint at all. I love that her characters are always growing, and keeps me laughing out loud. It doesn't ever feel like I'm reading the same book over and over again. What a fun read! Can't wait for the next one!!

I really enjoy reading the Miss Fortune series. With the stresses in real life, it was nice to be able to laugh out loud while being immersed in world of Fortune Redding.

I’ve read all the Fortune mysteries in the series, but somehow skipped this one. Just as entertaining as all the others.

The antics of the Team were a great read. The books always keep me entertained & looking forward to the next one. The twist & turns in this one were one for the ages. ALREADY have the needy one cued up.

Former CIA, now a PI, Fortune is set to enjoy her first real Christmas in Mudbug. Throw in a murder, some fireworks, and you send Fortune, Ida Bell, and Gertie on search for answers to who switched the Santas and why. This one is packed with adventure, Twists, turns, surprising ending, didn't see coming and cliff hanger for the next book, Jana has done it again.

I love that the quality isn't declining in this series. This is one of my favorites. Laughed so hard at the shenanigans. I love th characters, the overall ARC of the series and definitely each book in series. This one came with so many twists and turns. Unputdownable. I don't want one give spoilers, so will just end review here. Must read.

I have read each one of the Fortune books at least 3 times. I have every book that Jana DeLeon has written in this series. I have them on audible so if I can't read I can listen to them. I listen to them at work and makes by day go by faster. I am just waiting for the next book to come out!

I've read all of the books in this series and love them all. I love Christmas and this book has everything--holiday theme, a good mystery and hilarious shenanigans. If you have read any of the other books in the series, you will enjoy this one too. If you haven't read any of this series before, you are in for a treat!

Not sure where Ms Deleon gets her ideas but they are always fresh and fun. The most amusing protagonist and the craziest cast of supporting characters. Just never know where the story will take you.

I have read every book in this series and I do believe they are getting better, if that is possible. I was reading in the car on our way back from vacation and I kept laughing out loud. My husband would look over at me with a questioning look, ah, just another Fortune story!! A must read!! And don't wait til Christmas!

Book 16 under my belt. I have never given less than 5 stars on her books. They are captivating and funny. I could read only her but the poor girl can't write that fast. So I'll wait patiently for the next one. I get an email and purchase within seconds. If you ant a great read I recommend Jana's books. You won't regret it. Your fan forever.

If your looking for a new series to start, try Miss Fortune. Even if you dont think this genre is right for you. Take a chance l. I have never regretted starting this series and I cannot wait to read more! Jana never fails to deliver. For reference I'm a 28 yo Hispanic office assistant and her books always make me literally laugh out loud.

Once again Jana DeLeon has taken ordinary events and combined them together for an absolute masterpiece! I had to read it again before closing it to make sure I didn’t miss anything from laughing so much. The incredible detail of the characters is so phenomenal that it is hard to wait to see them again in the next book.

These stories are so imaginative and keep you wanting more. The characters only become more interesting with each new adventure. Looking forward d to the next story.

A bit funny, but not greatly interesting, characters are way to odd ball to real. yet,getting close to what l hope a surprise killer.

I read a lot and I mean at least 7 books a week when I'm on a roll. Swamp Santa has made my top 3 Christmas must reads. Anytime you have 2 seniors hanging out with young people, even in real life, your sure to have a blast!

All of Jane's books are outstanding. They're good clean reading and that's really hard to find in this day and age. Her characters and plots are well developed making you feel connected to them all. Gertie Books as my cousin and I call them are the Best! I love that there is a great story but I love best the antics of Gertie and her friends. As soon as I hear there is a new book - I buy it. Jana De Leon never fails to satisfy the need for mystery and laughter!

Oh my gosh! Another great book by Jana DeLeon! I loved the twists and turns of this book, I had no idea whodunit prior to the reveal (which I love). Then the big twist at the end? I'm still dealing with that mentally lol. I highly recommend this book and can't wait until the next in the series!

I love all of the Fortune books they keep me reading to the end. Even when I should have gone to sleep hours ago. I also enjoy the humor in the stories and anyone who has ever lived in a small town in the South will too.

Another excellent story. Again editing of the first chapter is a problem. Lots of twists and turns in this story. I did not guess the identity of the killer. Usual amount of humor.

All of Jana DeLeon's Miss Fortune books are so fun to read.This one is another installment in the lives of Fortune,Gertie,and Ida Belle as the interact in the town of Sinful. They make celebrating Christmas a totally different story. A dead Santa, a runaway horse, fireworks,fires and more spice up the traditional Christmas celebration.

More hilarity and feels ensue in Sinful in this great installment of the Miss Fortune series. All my favorite characters made an appearance, there was action a plenty, and the plot kept me turning pages when I should have been sleeping. I hope these make it to screne one day. Loved this book!

What a great read. The opening chapter had me laughing so hard I had to read it twice. Fortune and crew are on the hunt to find out who murdered Santa. It's a long and winding road, with some great twists and turns. Jana DeLeon at her best. Do yourself a big favor and read Swamp Santa today!

I was not disappointed with this new book in the Miss Fortune series. I would love to see is made into a movie. Read it and see what I mean.

It was great to have Big, Little and Mannie making appearances. Twist and turns and laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. Sheriff Lee is priceless as always. I wish these people and town were real so I could hang out with them. Can't wait till the next book. Now to start on re-reading the series. Again.

This book was a litter slower than the others, but the Swamp Team 3 never disappoint. I loved it and thought the story line had enough going on to keep turning pages say later than I should have been. Gertie just cracks me up. Always count t on her for a few belly laughs.

I so loved this story and was laughing hard in the first chapter. I love all my favorite people in these books and love them still. As much as I love reading all of them I'm always excitedly waiting for the next one. It's like spending crazy fun time with family. Read and enjoy!!!

Jana does it again! I can't even begin to imagine how she comes up with some of the situations Fortune and crew get into, but they're hilarious! Added to the fact that the writing is good, the story line interesting, and there's a bit of romance thrown in, this is definitely a good read.

As all of the previous books in this series (I have them all) , I laughed alot and followed all of the twists and turns to the surprising end. Long live Fortune!

First, the good. Happy endings for the "usual suspects" who we all know and love. Relationships moving along nicely. And more and more people are standing up to Celia. The bad: The plot, storyline and resolution were the most confusing I've ever read. Even with Fortune explaining everything at the end, I still can't figure it out. So many players that we need a scorecard. Definitely not the best in the series. Another series featuring a former CIA agent is the Max Springer series. Check them out, starting with Butcher of Chame.

Love love love this series! Interesting and fun characters without being stupid. Good story line. Cassandra Campbell is a great reader! Have listened to them all at least twice! But stick with the Jana DeLeon/Campbell duo. The others written or performed by someone else aren't nearly as good.

Wow! This book has more twists and turns than an Italian mountain road. Who would kill Santa at a kiddies’ event? Why was the the fake Santa in Sinful? How will this effect relationships? Talk about a surprise ending! You’ll never guess this one so read the book to find out what is coming.

This was another fun read from Jan DeLeon. Enough to keep my attention while not being a heavy read. Great interlude.

I’ve enjoyed all the books in this series, but is my favorite so far. Fortune is really starting to come into her new life and Gertie is amazing as always. Just when you think you have everything figured out, a new twist pops up. A fun light read that will make you giggle.

The characters in the story are very familiar to us. They are lovingly brought to life in the funniest situations, in the most offbeat town in Louisiana. You will be caught up in the shenanigans of Gertie, Ida Bell, and Fortune, while bell laughing your way though this book.

Jana DeLeon is an amazing writer. Her storylines are always fresh and the mysteries are intriguing with great plot twists. And the humor that flows through each book is the icing on the cake. She has done it yet again with Swamp Santa. Another great book to add to the series.

Gertie was up to her usual antics and they flowed as though they would really happen, as outrageous as they were. Glad to see Manny and the Heberts involved again. Great read for anyone one who wants a good laugh and a good read.

The crimes are many layered, and people are crazy! Specific justice is meted out and all parties are safe at day’s end. Sinful, Louisiana-one of my favorite places.

There weren't the number of shenanigans as normal but this was still a fun read. Finally Celia goes to jail. Well, at least overnight. Lol

I've read all of the Miss Fortune Mystery books and I've got to say that I've never been disappointed. I find myself anxiously awaiting the next installment every time. I'm also kind of sad when the story comes to and end.

I just love reading ( A Miss Fortune Mystery Book). I can relate to the characters in the book with their fun loving banter and friendships. This is a relaxing read that has you laughing out loud and looking forward to more zany adventures.

The girls always do save the day and mete out justice in their own way with many hilarious side trips into Sinful insanity as personified by Celia. The book is fun, the mystery is solved and now we all must wait for another adventure.

I love the main characters, they are fun and witty. I don't like all of the "offshoot" authors of this storyline, wish they could be better edited, have stopped trying to read all but the originals, wish Jana would write more frequently to this story line.

Jana is the best with her crazy Sinful crowd. This was another fun who done it. There are a lot of twists and turns to keep you guessing on what the real crime behind the crime is. Thoroughly enjoyed this and looking forward to the next one in 2020.

This was the best! I spent my morning drinking my coffee, reading and laughing out loud! There is no better way to start the day. The mystery holds you till almost last page. All my favorite characters are back. I can't wait to reread it.

I enjoy all of Jana’s books. With that being said I have to admit I’m getting tired of the same old story. Good news is I enjoy Fortune,ida bell, Gertie and Carter. Even ida bell is a lot nicer toward Gertie but please, enough about Cecila. Three slapstick misadventures was two, too many! Also there was way too much useless dialogue,(much to do about nothing) and then too much crammed into the conclusion of the story! Also this book should have sold for $1.99 instead of $5.99. Come on Jana. You are capable of much better!

Jana Deleon does it again! This is a wonderful story of hilarious, loving friends combined with a murder mystery involving brutal bad guys. Characters you wish lived in your neighborhood, great dialogue, and twisty plot.

Another great Miss Fortune book. Some serious twists that were hard to follow. A little less interaction with Carter on this one, but still Ida Belle and Gertie are along to help out. Only problem is waiting for the next book.

This whole series is a lot of fun. Although not absolutely necessary, start at the beginning, will make better sense that way. Some series are stand alone books, but this author doesn't got into that much past history.

I really enjoyed the changes in this book.... it was a totally different story line and the punch line at the end. Oh my goodness. I always try to read them slowly because they really are soooooo good you never want them to end.

I never saw the last page coming! The story was great, I laughed out loud. Jana brought back some of the previous characters and embarrassed Celia Arceneaux once again. It was funny and wonderful. I was only sad it wasn’t longer. Can’t wait for the next one.

Very good series, and this book in particular. Authors/series are often compared to “Stephanie Plum” novels. This series comes pretty close. Funny, intrigue, twists and unique characters whom I could see as friends, well at least neighbors. Very enjoyable!

This series is one of the funniest I’ve ever read. Fortune, Ida Belle and Gertie have such a hilarious way of getting into trouble while trying to solve crimes.

As usual, Fortune, Ana Belle and Gertie are getting into hilarious situations at Christmas time. Fortunes new case leads the Swamp Team into some crazy situations. But they solve the case and keep the reader laughing all the way.

I just love her books. This one is one of my favorites.

Although these books are beyond ridiculous they are addictive because of the quirky characters - so of course looking forward to the next in series.
