Awesome book .

Ref deer can’t do a big one for you and then you pick it all over and the kids can pick them and go there for the game if it’s too big of you and I don’t have a problem and then they just don’t have a problem if they are going on it then I don’t think it’s the way to pick them and pick up them at least until you can go and get it haha I don’t think they are doing anything like it or they will pick up a little while it’s just so .99999999990000 is a great time and it’s just too hard and then we will get the kids and we we can get a lot and go there in a couple days of school around the time I wanna let you I can go get some stuff and go there for the next year or two I wanna is a great day and back for more I was than just pick them from out for the day if I don’t need it I will let them pick don’t think it’s ok for it haha I will like it and it’s not like a big deal to him I just wanna let go of love it omg was my day I just got to work I just want to let you know I’m not sure if you have the money to get to the house yet but if I can go pick it out I can pick you up at your house I can get it haha is the time of time I will see if we get a check and then they rush to get there so we will pick was a great day for you to come back to school I just wanna was

Great gift!

This was a Christmas gift for a child I do not know. I did receive a passionate thank you note for acting as Santa's helper and purchasing this book from his/her list. He was particularly pleased with this book, which is why I rated it so highly.

Great Books!

The Magic Treehouse books are truly magic, my 8 year old son loves them and I can't keep up with ordering them. I have purchased 4 at a time and he reads them in days. They are great books and great for his imagination!

Great for kids who have recently learned to read

The Magic Tree House takes Jack and Annie back hundreds of years to Old Japan where they encounter ninjas, a ninja master, and samurai. As with all Magic Tree House books, Night of the Ninjas uses short sentences and easy words, allowing early elementary kids to have success reading a chapter book. As an added bonus, they teach a little bit of history. I recommend this book (and all Magic Tree House books) to kids who have recently learned to read.

We love this series!

My son and I started these a little while ago and we love this series! Part of what helps is that it has a thread throughout the book that keeps it interesting.

2nd grade daughter enjoys this Magic Treehouse series

2nd grader (girl) can easily read these chapter books and she enjoys them. There are black&white illustrations at the beginning of each chapter inside.

AWESOME early chapter book series for kids and adults alike!

We're hooked! We've read the First five books of Jack and Annie's adventures, and can't wait to read more! When looking for a good early chapter book for my 4 year old, I wasn't expecting to find a whole series - let alone one I thoroughly enjoy myself! While we only read a couple of chapters a night, each and every night there is, at least, one time I find my daughter holding her breath while listening flatly. To top it off, each book is set in different settings that offer wonderful teaching opportunities! Terrific! This series is a DEFINITE RECOMMEND!

Always a hit

This series is always fun, but my kids really like this one especially.

Loved it

This series is exceptional. A third grade boy who reads very well but is a reluctant reader asked for this book & loved it

Least Favorite So Far

This has been our least favorite book in the series so far. My children are 5 and 7. The 5-year-old can't read these books yet, but the 7-year-old has no trouble. We do family read aloud time and my oldest and I take turns reading. Usually, these books can hold the 5-year-olds attention, but this one failed to do it. The 7-year-old was lukewarm on it as well. As an adult, I found it annoying from beginning to end. I have noticed the overuse of "said" in this series before, but was able to overlook it. This time was too much though. How hard would it be to end a question with "asked"? And the word "ninja" was also way overused. We usually enjoy these books, but this one was a drag. The writing was terrible and the story wasn't engaging.

Perfect Transition to Chapter Books for 6 Year Old

I recently bought this for my 6 year old son (1st grade) as a gift while away on business. I returned on Saturday and here we are going into Friday and he's already finished with the book. It was very entertaining for him to read and he should knock out a few chapters at a time. I haven't read it yet myself to fully speak to the content and level but from flipping through it, it looked like a great segway from early readers to chapter books. The concept is imaginative and magical- I think that's what captivated and held his attention. He has fully comprehended the story and even gets excited to share with the adults in the family all about the adventures of the characters. There have been very few words that he has struggled to work through or understand- so it's a win for his confidence in reading. We will be looking to pick up a few of the others within this collection.

Can Jack and Annie find their way back to the Treehouse ?

Synopsis: The Magic Tree had been missing for a few days, and Jack and Annie had not seen Morgan le Fay either. However, upon checking the forest again, Annie and Jack find the magic tree house back in the forest, but Morgan is not in it. They do see an incomplete note that was started by Morgan, which says that she is under a spell and that they need four things. They then notice a book of Ninjas open, which is the only open book in the Tree House. They decide to go to ancient Japan where they have to get the help from the Ninjas, and become like Ninjas themselves to save Morgan. Unfortunately, the Ninja Master doesn't have time to help them because the Samurai Warrior is after them, so Jack and Annie have to go back to the Tree House, which is a long way back, all by themselves. Will they be able to find something to help Morgan, find their way back, and avoid being seen by the Samurai Warrior? Review: I thought this was a very nicely written book in the series. I liked the parts when the kids use the three things that the Ninja Master advised them to find their way back. I thought the book also was funny at times when Annie tells Jack to squeak like a mouse so that he starts to think like one. I liked how the author added mystery and adventure into the story of this book My only advice in making this book slightly better would have been if the author didn't spend so many pages describing how the children walked through the woods, streams etc. and gave more information about the Ninjas and Samurai Warriors, like say Jack would stop and open the book and find some other facts about Samurai Warriors. I felt like not much information was provided about Ninjas, Japan or Samurai, and would have liked to read more facts on them. Apart from that though, this was a very adventurous book to read. The illustrations provided by Sal Murdocca add well to the book, and I liked the pictures where the two Ninjas are carrying Jack and Annie across the stream, and when Jack and Annie meet the Ninja Master inside the hidden cave. Overall, this is another fine addition to the Magic Tree House series and I recommend it to anyone who likes reading the series.

A cool way to be a Ninja

This is a great story. It's simple and it's fun to read. The story takes place in Frog Creek. As usual a mysterious tree house appears....... Jack and Annie go back in a world where mystery surrounds an ancient art. The secrets of the Ninja are revealed. That's when the story begins to really capture the young readers attention. It's a small book and easily fits anywhere.

Historical accuracy?

This book is very typical of the Magic Tree House series. Youngsters Jack and Annie travel to distant lands and times in service to Morgan le Fey, who controls the tree house which magically appears in their backyard. On each adventure the pair are supposed to retrieve some artifact or bit of knowledge to help Morgan, who in this case seems to have mysteriously disappeared. The books are organized into groups of four because Jack and Annie always have to find four things to complete their mission. In this case, the four things all begin with the letter "M". The writing, while not terribly involved or gripping, is basically appropriate for the target audience - young readers just venturing into chapter books, perhaps ages 6 through 9. My 7-year-old enjoys the books, I think largely because she's sort of taken aback with herself that she actually can read and understand them. My concern with this book concerns the topic of ninjas vs. samurai. Like all Magic Tree House books, it does not delve too deeply into the actual history of ninjas, but what it does portray is very stereotypically binary good vs. evil and not exactly accurate. In the book, Jack and Annie encounter two ninjas who take them to the ninja master. The ninja master tells them that they must get away from the samurai, who are apparently the "bad guys". We learn absolutely nothing about the apparent feud between the groups or why the samurai are evil. In historical reality, however, while neither the ninjas nor the samurai were completely good or completely evil, the samurai are more associated with honor and nobility. They hailed from the royal and noble classes of feudal Japan and their practice of "bushido" involved a strict code of honor and ethics, including and especially in combat. The ninjas, on the other hand, were recruited from the lower classes and their tactics included more guerilla-type warfare such as infiltration, espionage, arson and assassination. They were mercenaries loyal to whomever was paying them. The wise and benevolent ninja master would have been more believable as a samurai master, perhaps. In any case, it would have been nice had the book explored the actual history in at least a little more depth.

Simple and interesting

My seven year old daughter is enjoying through this series. She is a pretty good reader so she can read these almost completely independently and likes that they are chapter books.

An imperfect series that nontheless captures children's attention

The Magic Tree House series is a great idea that could be executed much better. I agree with some of the other reviewers comments regarding limited and in some instances dubious information on their subject matter. However, I am giving this book four stars because my five year old son loves it. I have found it a struggle to finds books that he will sit down and read with me and the fact that this book grasps his attention is a great credit to it. In fact, now that I have bought the first eight books in the series, his ten year old sisters are reading and enjoying them, also. These books serve the purpose of introducing a topic (usually historical) and sparking a child's that can then be pursued in other books. The original Magic School Bus series (by Joanna Cole - not the ones taken from the TV show) is a much better series that incorporates a lot of science with a fun story line.

Our 5 year old loves these books!

We have been reading these books to our five (almost 6) year old for a couple of months now and he really enjoys them. He can read on his own at a D/E level so these are a little too advanced for him to read alone but he LOVES having them read to him. He begs for me to read "just one more chapter" every night. Great story lines, simple enough for young kids to understand yet educational. The author isn't afraid to use big words which we like as parents. Our soon to be 4 year old wants to start "reading" them as well, but I'm not sure he has the attention span for it yet. Highly recommend!!

JACK AND ANNIE AND THE NINJAS!

A spell has been cast on Morgan Le Fay and she needs Jack & Annie to retrieve some items to help her. The Kids must use the Magic Tree house to travel back to ancient Japan to find the clues to the latest mystery. They encounter some Ninja Warriors who turn out to be the good guys and the Ninja Master assists the kids on their quest. But they soon come under attack by a horde of Samurai Warriors, who threaten their mission. This book actually starts a new story arc that will play out over books #5 - 8 in the series and is called the Mystery of the Magic Spell. I like the way Mary Pope Osborne has written these books to be stand alone adventures and yet all four to be part of one 4 book story arc. This one loved at a bit of a slower pace than some of the previous books. There wasn't the chills as their were in Mummies in the Morning, for example. But still a solid effort with excellent illustrations by Sal Murdocha.

the Magic Tree House should be read in chronological order to best appreciate Jack and Annie's travels through time as they ...

The Magic Tree House books are a MUST READ collection for all children. Unlike many other series for young readers, the Magic Tree House should be read in chronological order to best appreciate Jack and Annie's travels through time as they go on various missions; which are typically completed in four parts. Parents and educators will enjoy going along for the ride as much as their students! My daughter is a teenager now but she still gets excited when she sees a new tree house adventure has come out.

This is a great series for PreK/Kindergartners to get into...

I got this book along w/a ninja outfit for my daughter's friend's bday who's doing a 'ninja' bday theme. The Magic Tree house is a GREAT chapter book series (very imaginative & fun). I love reading this w/my 5 yr old son before bed (we read a few chapters & put a bookmark in for next night).

Good Series for Boys

My grandson loves these books! He looks forward to receiving them.

This book was one of the first magic tree house books I bought for my son. He didn't much care for it. He does, however, enjoy reading the "research guide" or "fact tracker" series from magic tree house.

it's a good book

i remember they went to Japan enthen the ninjas cot them and took them across really cold water and in to a hidden cave

Ninjas!

If you like ninjas, then this is the book for you, the Night of the Ninjas. If you like mice, you will like the wise mouse Peanut. This is no ordinary mouse. There is a whole bunch of mystery. I like Night of the Ninjas, because it kept me reading.

Loved it!

6 Year old boy says loves it! He liked the scary and funny parts. He enjoys this book series so far.

An Average Entry in an Average Series

Kids in the 5-7 range will probably love this series with its dependable repetition of formulas that my kids loved to say out with me when we got to the best part of the book: "The wind blew harder ... The treehouse started to spin ... faster and faster ... then everything was still. Absolutely still." The loyalty and friendship which bond brother Jack and sister Annie are also a refreshing break from sibling squabbles. On the other hand, it's discouraging to watch the heroes of these books visit far-off times and places and learn virtually nothing about the places they go to, because the author is so ignorant about science, history and the English language (gravity varies depending on whether you're in a building or not; "thou" is a plural pronoun; etc.). If you want your kids to learn anything from their readings, you'll have to delve a little deeper into the mass of children's literature than this trivial series. In this episode, Jack and Annie go to Japan, and learn a little New-Age wisdom but almost nothing about Japanese history or culture.

Awesome Book

I liked this book because it is full of mystery and adventure. This book is about 2 kids named Jack and Annie. In this mystery the magic tree house takes them to China to find their friend Morgan. There are 2 ninjas that help them. They carried them through a river and stopped where they set off on their own. The ninjas left them. They set off to find their friend. They found Morgan and walked over hills and then they found the same river where the ninjas left them. Jack and Annie asked the ninjas to bring them back across the river with Morgan. They set off to the tree house and it spun around and Jack and Annie made it home and told their parents about the adventure. Read the book to find all the adventures they went on as I do not want to spoil the fun of this book.

Special time

My six-year-old granddaughter and I are slowly making our way through the Magic treehouse books. We both are enjoying the time together. Since she lives about six hours away by car, we have done a number of the books through FaceTime.

Good Read

Not as good as some of the other books in the series but still very entertaining. Looking forward to #6.

The book was amazing and very good, I want to read all of your books and I just, so love your books. Good Job Mary Pope Osborn

Suspenseful

It is all about being nature, following nature and using natre😊!! Ninjas are very calm and helped Jack and Annie.

Great magic treehouse story

The magic treehouse series of books are really great with their mixture of a good story and historical settings and it really captivates the readers. My son usually reads these on his own but occasionally I read them out to him and that really makes me appreciate the quality of these books.

MY BOY LOVES READING IT

My 1st grader hates to put it down, he would rather read Magic Tree House books, than play video games. He even reads them to his class and explains the story for show and tell. In his kindergarten class the teacher would also let him read the Magic Tree House books out loud, not to give her a break, but to promote reading out loud. Great books!

I enjoyed reading this book.

I was only trying out the app on my iPad and downloaded a short book to see if the app worked out. The book was entertaining enough that I think I will read it to my granddaughter. I look forward to the next book in the series.

exallent

My daughter loves these books. This one was just as captivating as the others in this series. This series has helped stimulate her interest to read chapter books on her own.

My son's favorite book series never fails to delight.

My 10 year old son devours these books. And being a typical boy this one was a hit. What boy doesn't love ninjas. As a mom I love how Ms. Osborne captivates young readers. These books were the first chapter books my son attempted. Since he is dyslexic, the shorter chapters help him succeed in completing each chapter. Highly recommended.

Great read to my three year old.

It kept my three year old in attention the entire time. Good first part of the story. Now it is time for the continuation of the story. The next book is book 6.

How to get a 7 year old boy to read.

My son is loving reading all these books on his Kindle! He's reading them all in order - even the ones he's previously read.

Another great book in the series

If your kids enjoy the Magic Treehouse series they will like this book. If they are not into this storyline then don't waste your time or money!

AWESOME BOOK!!!!

MY SON AND I LOVE THIS BOOK AND ALL THE MAGIC TREE HOUSE BOOKS ~ A MUST BUY FOR KIDS!!

Four Stars

My son loved it!! Read it in 2 days! Couldn't keep him away from the Kindle!

its a great book

If you like ninjas then you'll want to read night of the ninjas. If you are a fraidy cat you might like Jack and if you like to imagine, then you will like Annie. If you like mice, then you will like Peanut in the story. The story keeps you guessing because the mouse acts like a human. I liked Night of the Ninjas, because it's exciting and you will like it, too.

An awesome book!

I like ninjas. They were very stealthy. I gave this book five stars because it was awesome, just awesome. I would recommend this book and other Magic Tree House books to people who love exploring the world through books, magical books!

4th Grade Review

If you like Magic Tree House stories, here’s one for you to read.JACK AND ANNIE were heading home from the library, but Morgan saw a magic tree house. There were so many ninjas! One of the ninjas said, “Come tomorrow.” The next day the kids went to the treehouse and the ninjas told them stories. This one is one of my favorites!

😁😁

It is awsome

It was great. Stupendous!

I want to read again after I read all of the other books. Let us know when other books are coming out.

I think you're books are awesome. And you guys have good imagination I hope you guys make more magic tree house books have a good day By Diegovivanco

Night of the Ninjas (Magic Tree House, No. 5)

ISBN 0679863710 - Books in series for kids aren't new - Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden, the Bobbsey Twins.. right on through to the Babysitters Club and Goosebumps - they've been out there for generations. This series, however, does seem to have a slightly younger target audience than most and that, in my opinion, is a very good thing. The younger they're hooked, the harder it is to give up the habit, and reading is a habit you want to encourage. Jack and Annie are headed home from the library, wondering where Morgan and the Magic Tree House are and when she and it might return. Annie runs off into the forest and sees that it has returned! The only question is - where's Morgan? A note is found, along with a mouse, and the kids have the tree house whisk them away to Japan, sometime in the 14th-17th centuries, where they are meet ninjas and flee from samurai warriors and gather the first of four items they will need to rescue their friend. They return home in time for dinner, but they still haven't found Morgan! I have a few problems with the book - for one, the kids go to Japan and meet some ninjas who speak fluent English. Or the kids unknowingly speak fluent Japanese. Either way, they're able to communicate without trouble. Jack makes small notes as he goes, like "ninjas were warriors in old Japan", but there's little effort made to delve too deeply into anything informative. Not that every book in the world needs to be educational, but it feels very much like a missed opportunity. Last is the obvious fact that book #5 comes nowhere near being complete, as Morgan is still missing. It's one thing to hope your readers will return for book #6, it's another thing altogether to split a story that way - whether it's a kids' book or a book for an older audience, every book should stand alone and allow a latecomer to the series to jump in at any point without feeling lost. Still, I take only one star away for all of that because I think TMTH has tons of potential. This book was action packed, fast paced and full of exciting adventure and kids will enjoy that. What they enjoy, they will read! The prologue, to bring you up to speed, is a help. The back cover says RL 1.9, ages 6-9. I think the more likely audience age group is 5-7 and these chapter books would make an excellent jumping off point to learn about other cultures with Mom and/or Dad's help. - AnnaLovesBooks

Great book my third grader loved it !

Great power Ninja have.

This time, Jack and Annie traveled to Ninja period in Japan. Morgan was spelled by someone. So Jack and Annie went to look for the items to save Morgan. They got power like a Ninja. Ninja have fantastic power. For example, move fast, disguise a wall, and so on. At last, they found the moonstone to return Morgan. But the items are four. Jack and Annie need to find another three items.

A Review by 2nd Grader DM

Have you ever went in your woods and found a big tree house in an oak tree? This book is about kids named Jack and Annie that live in the town of Frog Creek, Pennsylvania. In the beginning, the kids take their magic tree house back to the time of the ninjas. In the middle, they get captured by the ninjas. Do Jack and Annie escape? You'll have to read the book to find out. One of my favorite parts is when Jack, Annie, and the ninjas team up. I like that part because they make a good team together! I recommend this book to first grade and up because younger kids might have trouble reading the book because it has some cursive. Some I think first graders and up would love this book. Now read it and have an adventure.

Denisse P. Book Review Project

Do you like ninjas? I think "Night of the Ninjas" is a great book. I like "Night of the Ninjas" because I like all of the cool pictures in the book. "Magic Tree House #5 Night of the Ninjas" is so much better than "Magic Tree House #4" because there is so much more cooler pictures in the book. You should go buy "Magic Tree House #5 Night of the Ninjas" because it is so good. I like "Night of the Ninjas" because all of the things happening in the book are so good.

Love of reading.

My grandchildren love for me to read to them. Magic Treehouse books are just one of the many books they truly love to hear. Recommend parents get these for any child who they want to live to read. Great imagination!

Great story!

Magic tree house are fantastic! Interesting stories and easy to read. My kid loved this one because of the suspense of it!

My kids love it! My wallet hates it!

My kids can't get enough. Story time has become their favorite time of day. That being said I am looking for alternate books due to the cost of the books for the kindle. I could see paying $4.99 for a paper back book, but for the electronic version that's really steep for a short childrens book. The books are short. They take 2-4 days of reading 2-3 chapters per day.(short chapters) Just my $.02.

Nice introduction to start chapter books

My 7 year old son loves these books. Nice introduction to start chapter books. We take turns reading chapters. Good price in comparison to store.

They go to the magic Tree house. It whisks them to ancient Japan. Their mission is to find their friend Morgan, while their friend Jack and Annie get seen by two ninjas. Jack saw them as a treat so he was very caution. They followed the Ninjas through valley up mountains and in the forest. He told Jack and Annie," Use nature be nature, Follow nature, if you use these three things you will find your way to the tree house and find your friend Morgan pg 38. I'm not going to tell you anymore because I do not want to spoil it

Night of the Ninjas

My students liked the excitement of the Ninjas and the Samarais. They were really happy when the Ninjas master helped them. They like Peanut too!

Colten'sAR

Night of the Ninjas is a great book. You learn about ninjas and Samurai warriors. This all happens while Jack and Annie start their journey to help Morgan la fay.

Night of the ninjas

It was very good because of you don't know who or what the mouse is and what happened to Morgan le Fay. It is also very good because it doesn't just give out where Jack & Annie are going in the beginning. You just have to wait and see for yourself.

Short & Exciting

this series is full of good, short reads. they each have their own adventure. recommend for everyone of all ages.

cute i like ninjas

it was a good book on ninjas i like ninjas. ninjas are cool . ninjas are fast. silent. and if you read this. be nature. follow nature ....... you'll find the rest love ninja. breathe ninjas. look like a ninja.

great book!

I like the story because it taught me how to be a ninja !It also taught me to read more non fiction books.

Fun and informative

Fun and informative for kids. This one seemed to have more action than the last. I like how it left some more of the story open to be discovered in the next book or books.
