What an ending! Kudos, to Catalina. I cannot believe that she told him. She actually saved his life. For a minute there I thought that she was going to keep her mouth shut, and let it happen. This ending had me speechless😮. Damien, it's time to let it go. Enough is enough, stop the madness. Heath aka "The Skull King" is making a total fool of you. And to make things worse. He's doing it in front of your men. He makes you look like a chump. Give it up Damien. It's over!!! I love the way Catalina and Heath interact with one another. They're so hot together. They reminds me of Griffin aka Bones and Vanessa. Catalina does not take carp from anyone. The way she kicked those guys ass, priceless👌💥. She also reminds me of Pearl, aka Button. She didn't take carp either. Heath, grew on me. I did not like him in book #7. But he redeemed himself in this book when he saved Catalina, from the Russians. Now I'm starting to see him in a while new light. I wonder what the Fortune Teller, told Catalina, about her future?! Because whatever it is. It's holding her back from falling in love. I cannot wait to read book#9.

I have no idea where to begin. What are the odds of Catalina meeting Heath...the major enemy of hey brother? Catalina is bad ass for beating Heath even though he won. Then he wears her down by watching and following her. But in typical Catalina fashion, she kicked the wrong ass winding her in major trouble....in a human trafficking cell and beaten. Thankfully, but not really, Heath stops by for his weekly pick up. Catalina calls out to him and he rescues her from the cell but sad about her injuries. Catalina in the end also saves him. Love the storyline and characters. Will the feud between Damien and Heath end? Still want to know what the fortune the gypsy gave her. But I suspect I might know. Another great book by the author.

Love this series, but I feel the books are always too short, or is it that I just can't put them down and I'm done too soon? When I choose a book/series to read, I try to choose one where all books have been released already. (Yes, I'm impatient) Because I love this author and had just read "The Skull King" books, I moved on to these. Now I'm stuck. July can't come fast enough! I always highlight parts or quotes of a book that I find to be interesting or poignant but these stories are so good that I just don't stop. There's little to no bulls**t "filler". You get invested in the characters and just read! Great fiction, great story, great writing! NEXT??

This was my favorite book of the series! It was so good they I read until 2:30am so I could finished the book! The author does a great job of bringing the characters to life. Catalina is a sassy, strong, independent lady who doesn’t take bull from anyone. Her relationship with Heath is hot and sexy! I love the way Heath isn’t afraid to show her how he feels and how he expects the same from her. The ending had me in the edge of my seat and I can’t wait to read the next book!!

I have decided I’m in love with Heath. He’s this leader of this big criminal organization but he’s so soft and good for Catalina. I just love their relationship and how it grew quickly. It was amazing that Heath started working towards putting an end to human trafficking all for Catalina. Catalina is so strong and feisty and I can’t wait to see what direction her character goes. Now on to book two!

Catalina and Heath, love it. Catalina is my kind of woman. Such a suspenseful story. It was so hard to put down to get the other things that had to be taken care in my life. This journey had me gasping for air almost afraid to turn the page at times. Great story Penelope, once again you have kept me entertained and wanting to find out what happens.

Holy crap, that ending!!! I think Heath just maybe my new book boo. Man his fierceness is so hot. And he is not to be toyed with. He's blunt and straight to the point, with his men and Catalina. Those two are a dynamite waiting to explode. Catalina with back on her word. Her trust may have faltered some with Heath.

I absolutely loved this series. I loved how each were connected in a thread. I also loved that the author used multiple books that were devoted to the various couple she chose. Each were magically drawn. Amazing read! denise

What can I say about Penelope Sky books I have read every one & at $7.00 apiece that's not cheap .but I have certainly enjoyed her books ....if you start reading you won't be doing anything else but read. I have read all of the "Fifty Shades" but you will enjoy Ms Penelope's books much more

The chemistry of Heath and Catalina is off the charts. Everything she has been through and stayed together speaks volumes of her spirit.

Oh em geeeee, I had no idea what kind of heat Penelope Sky was going to hit me with this time and man does she deliver the goods on Heath and Catalina’s story. The book hangover from this one is strong!

Another fast read. I enjoyed reading this book with good believable characters and good dialogue. I will recommend this book to others

Love this series. Penelope you did again. I am going to add Heath to my Alpha Male list. Move over Griffin and Bosco.

GREAT BOOK SERIES

Started reading a series a long time ago by Penelope Sky and I’ve read over 30 books of hers. Absolutely how she writes and I’m seriously in love with every male lead character in every book.

This book is soooooo good.Heath is such a great guy.cant wait till the next book. Too long to wait..so exciting.we need a movie. Way better than 50 shades

In Lie, we move on to Heath and Catalina’s story and what a wild ride this was. Since they already met in Forever, the previous book in not such favorable circumstances this really sets up a fantastic storyline. Their attraction to one another, even though hard, cannot be denied. But there is a major problem here which is in Damien and Catalina are put in a terrible position and she doesn’t all about Heath and his problems with her brother. And Damien does not know about Catalina and Heath. What tangled web of lies we weave. I cannot tell you how much I am enjoying this part of the series and their storyline. I can’t wait for the next book in the series, Secret. If I could, I would give this book 10 stars. BRAVO once again to Penelope

Be careful what you ask for because someone will come along and give to you in spades. Heath is the Skull King, the man who runs every underground and corrupt organization in the area. Ruling with a iron fist, collecting his cut from each business every month and making sure to keep the peace between everyone. He's smart, handsome and loyal, but after meeting a woman who is the sister to his enemy, will he be able to let her go and stay away or will his new feelings and interest in this fabulous woman be his downfall? Catalina is a beautiful ballerina who likes to go out with her friends and have a good time but after being taken by Russian human trafficking group will she find her soulmate rescuing her from hell. Heath can't stay away from Catalina and he pushes her to have a sexual relationship to scratch the itch they both have. How far will this relationship go and will they be able to keep it from her family and will he be able to stay The Skull King with his new feelings growing each day for her? I have been waiting for this couple to get their story but as with each story Penelope Sky has written she amazes me with how deep she pulls us in and makes us feel for these characters. I will be impatiently waiting for the next chapter in Heath's and Catalina's story and praying they find a way to make it all work out for them.

Review for “Lie” #8 by Penelope Sky Once Heath figured out he was attracted to Catalina he became very persistent and started chasing her, which he does not do with any woman. He shows up unannounced and demands her attention. Heath likes the way Catalina stands up to him and her zest for life and even her cockiness. These traits actually make Heath more attracted to her. They are keeping their relationship a secret. Heath is keeping a secret about himself in relation to her family and the way he runs his business. He believes that she would never forgive him because she told him up front that her loyalty lies with her brother Damien, long time nemesis to Heath. Plus his prior dealings with Damien and her father. Read this next book and see where it takes you! As always I went through many emotions reading this book too. I also found myself rooting for this couple despite the way Heath and Catalina met. Penelope Sky continues writing these great stories. I’m excited to start the next book in this series, “Secret.”

Lie Arc Love,, love,, loved it! Heath and Catalina are the best characters Penelope’s come up with. What is it with these women that fall for their captures, but it always makes for a great story. As we dive into the aftermath of Catalina being caged but let go. She’s in turmoil because the chemistry between her and Heath are too strong. She knows being with him is wrong but on the other hand she’s staying loyal to her family. An unpredicted situation causes a lot of harm and grief towards Catalina. Which brings the last person to ever would help her in anyway. A new friendship and alliance grows when enemies prepare to destroy it all. We got a hint about her fortune, is what’s happening a revelation of what’s to come. To many lives are at risk no matter how you look at it. A definite must read in the continued betrothed series !!!

OMG.. I loved this book..read it in a day I couldn't put it down..Health...omg..freaking hot and Catalina love her feistyness. Now the last book "forever" I was not its biggest fan..and still not a big fan of damien..man he just dont learn..leave well enough alone..still trying to kill heath..and always backfires..good lord..Penelope please make him stop..all the men in your books has sense to leave things alone..lord what happen.he starting to be annoying. Now this is where you won me in this book..Not only is heath a bad ass..and sexy as hell..but his heart..his strength and soul just touches you in everyway... my favorite quote from him in the book wasnt even sexual..but beautiful: " scars are not signed of weakness, but strength. Traumas are not signed of failure, but success. A dark past doesn't mean you lived less, but you lived more. Anyone who judges you for what you been through is just an ass&^&e who hasn't survived anything themselves. They are the weak ones, and you are the strong one." Now that's a man!!! Give me more of Heath and I'm good!!

Wow!!! The character dynamics in this one had me on the edge of my seat. This is a true enemies to lovers story! Catalina is a firestorm by herself, however, when paired with Heath!! It becomes a volcano! These two have such chemistry - they both know nothing can happen between them for many reasons. Yet, it is so hard to stay away from each other. Heath is an interesting character, he is the Skull King, but Lie shows another side him. He also has a heart!! He let Catalina go after he kidnapped her in Forever. He can't keep his mind off of her. The ways he pursues he even though he knows they can't have a relationship says quite a bit about him. Can they have a one night stand to hopeful get over the curiosity and sexual tension or will they have a 'taboo' relationship? This book is so good, I stayed up all night to finish!! Reasons I enjoyed this book: Action-packed, Entertaining, Haunting, Page-turner, Steamy, Tragic, Twisted, Unpredictable, Wonderful characters

I knew I was going to love this couple from their first encounter. Catalina is such a strong and fierce woman, who is very loyal to her family. Heath has done his best to take over for his brother, as the Skull King, but Catalina has slipped under his skin and he finds himself going against Skull Kings SOP to protect and please her. An unforeseen occurrence brings these two fantastic characters back together and ignites their relationship. But the truths being withheld by ALL the characters cause major drama. I totally love Heath and Catalina's clashes - their verbal sparing just makes me keep turning pages to see what they are going to say next. The cliffhanger at the end opens up all kinds of questions and possible paths for the next book. The next book is going to be amazing and I cannot wait.

Have read the other books before this one and can't help but to feel irritation with how Hades & Damien came out in many situations. I LOVED those guys in the beginning, especially in book one. But now, I don't accept the rough & tough descriptions given to them at any point after moving on from the 2nd, 3rd book. I looked forward to them just dominating this lifestyle. I understand why they couldn't keep doing certain things & participating in some things, but thought they would at least still be feared and heavily regarded. But, nope. But I do love this story & the writing is great. I absolutely LOVE Heath's personality and thinking. I just don't want him to be the ultimate bad ass. But, I digress...I'm moving on to "Secrets".

The reader first encounters Heath and Catalina in the prior book and boy were those two simply perfect for each other while they fought like cats and dogs. But now it is their turn to have their story told. I thought I loved Damien and all of the other men characters that came before but Heath is the winner hands down. The Skull King is used to getting his way and taking control, but when he finds himself falling for the girl he once held captive all bets are off. Can the love of a good woman bring this sinner to redemption? And oh by the way - the one man who Heath wants to kill just happens to be her brother. Awesome from the first word on the page and I cannot wait to read more. This is the best couple yet.

This is the start of Heath and Catalina and I think their story could be the very best yet! I fell in love with the start of their story in Forever and could already tell it was going to be amazing and unlike anything Penelope has written yet! Penelope always writes these amazing spunky women that give as good as they get but Catalina is the first one I’ve thought might take over my favorite heroine! Catalina and Heath are explosive from the very beginning! I can tell their story is going to have me on the edge of my seat and a constant re read! I can’t wait to see what more is in store for this explosive couple! Their chemistry is everything, banter is absolutely hilarious and I can’t wait for more!

OMG. I don't know where to start. Couldn't put this one down. I knew I was in for a ride with it coming from Author Penelope Sky. Love her work. I was blown away by it. Outstanding. The characters were truly believable. Love them. What can I say about Heath and Catalina, they are both kick ass and bad ass. Catalina a sweet and beautiful but don’t sleep on her, she’s a dangerous spitfire and not a naive as everyone thinks she is. Heath is The Skull King, his name alone tell you all. He's tall, good looking, bossy and sexy as HELL. With a smile that will melt your panties. Can a forbidden LOVE melt the heart of a man that runs the Skull King. Two Thumbs Up!!!

Love, love, love this book. The entire series is amazing, but this one is my favorite. Catalina is so strong and sassy and Health is what a real man is and how a real man should treat a lady. Their chemistry is off the charts. And the ending, just WOW. She told Heath she would never side with him over her brother Damien but at the very last second she reached out to save him. She is going to have a world of trouble in the next book, I can’t wait to Read the fall out. But more importantly I can’t wait to find out what the fortune teller told her! Lie was amazing! I love how we still get to be a part of Anna and Damien’s lives through Cat and even Heath. This book was definitely panic inducing at times, specially towards the end! There is so much going on you can’t help but binge read once you start! How will Vox and the rest of the Skull Kings react when Heath walks back into their headquarters? Will Damien keep his end of the deal? How will things play out for Cat? I’m sure both Damien and Heath will be mad at her specially Damien, but I know everything will play out in its own special way and be ok! Can’t wait for Secret!

Could not put the book down! Catalina is feisty and is definitely fierce woman! Heath is sooooo swoon worthy. He tries and tries to get Catalina to give him a chance and she always put her foot down but when that incident happens and he rescues her made me love Heath so much more. I love how he also lays down his true feelings for her and I love the communication they have with each other. I also can’t wait to find out what curse Catalina has. Breaks my heart to see her not let herself fall in love. The cliffhanger gutted me and I am sooo anxious to read the next part!

Ok this is by far my favorite installment in this series. I love the chemistry between Catalina and Heath. This story evokes so many emotions... that’s what a great writer does. Annoyance at Catalina’s arrogance, heartbreak and profound sadness to see such a strong human broken, excitement at the prospect of a relationship, conflicted due to her predicament and the tough decision she had to make but at the same time a little disappointed that she had any doubt...happy she made to right decision in the end.. Great job Penelope.. Strong work.

I absolutely LOVED this book. The love between the Skull King and a headstrong, feisty woman like Catalina should never happen, but it does and it’s so unbelievable. There’s so many things keeping them apart, like a kidnapping, but Catalina somehow overcomes that and succumbs to Heath. The passion is there and the bond is strong. Their love/hate relationship reminds me of Bones and Vanessa, where a bad boy and good girl gets together. I can’t wait to see what the Skull King does when there has to be something done with Catalina’s brother, Damien. How will Catalina take the outcome and will she stay with Heath.

Everytime I read one of Penelope's books I fall in love with the characters and say there is no way I can love another couple more. ...then she writes another couple and I fall in love with them even more. With heath and cat they met in forever when she was about to be sold as a slave. Heath let her go. There was chemistry even then. Now in lie it is even hotter and even more wild. I knew their story would be a special one after meeting them in Forever and seeing how they came together and what they meant to each other just meant that their book would be even better. The push and pull, the tension, and the chemistry all make for a great read. Can’t wait for more from these two.

I'm so excited Heath finally gets his story I fell in love with him many books ago he's still a funny, intelligent, charismatic smart ass but with a whole new edge that we knew was there all along lurking under the surface he has an unconventional encounter with a woman you just know is going to put him through the wringer and test his sanity no one before her this portion of an already great saga is no doubt going to be amazing if this book is anything to go by

It feels like I've been waiting forever for Heath's story to be told. So far I am not disappointed. I really enjoy the tie-in with Damien's story that hasn't *quite* resolved yet. Damien and Catalina are great together and for each other. I love the push and pull between the characters. Seeing the return of some early minor characters was great, too. The line about Heath's opinion of Barsetti wine made me actually laugh out loud. CanNOT wait to see what happens in the next book after the ending of this one.

I loved that Penolope gave us another story similar to the buttons and lace series. I live catalina and heath so much. She is one of a kind. She is strong and willful. Heath is immediately attached to her. He keeps coming back, she keeps denying him because of Damien and Heaths history. Heath saves Cataluna and she gives in. You get to see their feelings grow strong. The ending wow. Damien needs to let it go but i imagine that'll be tough. Can't wait for the next one.

When Catalina was talking to her brother, Damien, about Heath, I was hoping she’d told him the truth. Now, it’s going to be worse.

I think that Heath and Catalina have become my absolute favorite couple since Carmen and Bosco,along with Bones and Vanessa. I’m just praying that Heath and Catalina can be together and be happy. I’m also praying that Heath and Damien can get past their issues because he and Catalina are just so good together and they deserve to be together and happy. Please let Heath and Catalina be HEA. Please get rid of Vox as well.

This was a great start to his story and the fact that he is going out with Damien little sister is wow...She is on hell of a chick who know how’s to throw a punch..She is not afraid to stand up to a man. But when heath comes around and sets his eyes on her he does not want to look at anyone else. But he knows this is a mistake since her brother is his his enemy. It’s getting hot and interesting wonder what’s next.

Penelope's books are so amazing! Her characters are richly detailed, so easy to fall in love with! I love Heath's take no prisoners attitude, so hard, ruthless. When it comes to Catalina though, he is so gentle and yet doesn't back down from her feisty attitude. He likes it! I can't get enough. I love Heath almost as much as I loved Griffin, who's my favorite character! If you want a fantastic read, start reading Penelope Sky. Go back to the beginning though, start with her Buttons series. You won't be sorry.

At first i wasn't sure how i was going to feel about Heath but he has one me over regardless of what he has done to Damien, he is strong and fearless and that is exactly what Catalina needs as she is a strong and fierce woman and should not be with someone who is weak. I just love this story and can't wait to see what is next in the series.

I must say that I'm loving Heath and Catalina's story better than Damian's. This book has it all, the beginning of love, humor and sadness. Heath ends up rescuing Catalina which turns into a budding relationship. Stipulations were set in three beginning, but of course those are never followed. Heath still hasn't told her his secret, so that's going to be a problem.

I was all in my feels with this book and in a good way...the chemistry between Heath and Catalina reminds me of Bones and Vanessa and Balto and Cassini....just whoa !! I did not want this book to end....and what a way for it to end...you can can already tell theres a big shift in their relationship, even moving towards love....cannot wait to read the second book !!!

This book! These two characters. I'm literally gonna die. Lol jk. It took me way longer than usual to read this book. It was too intense. I couldn't handle the chemistry && passion between them. It made me feel giddy like🤗🤗😁 I had to stop reading for like two days. I couldn't handle it. Heath and Catalina are SO in love with each other. They don't even know it yet. This is Hands down one of your best books so far that I've read. (LOL like I haven't read them all) I can't wait for the rest of their story🤗

I thought Bones was my favorite character but Heath may have just taken over!!!! EEkkk!! I fell in love with him a long time ago and have been waiting for his story!! Well, we finally got it and Ms. Penelope did not disappoint!!! Heath is funny, intelligent, charismatic smart ass but with a whole new meaning!! :) Can't wait for more!!!

5 WELL DESERVED STARS!! I'm completely blow away by this Series by Penelope Sky. The rollercoaster of emotions that she takes you on is PERFECT!! Omg I fell in love with Heath and Catalina. This book touch my core. I felt my heart hurting for the characters. Penelope writes an sexy, hot, emotional, raw and jar dropping book every time.

Catalina is awesome she’s takes care of herself and when she attacked heath in forever was great. Love how heath now regrets for kidnapping Damians and Catalina for Liam. The teller probably told her this will be the men she ends up with her brothers enemy. Damian just messed with the wrong person everyone has told him to leave Heath alone and do what he’s told but didn’t listen. When it comes down to choosing I think she will choose heath. Can’t wait for book #9

Heath and Catalina meet in Forever and there attraction for each other grows hotter in this book. The Skull King and Damien still have there feud, And the feud becomes interesting with the relationship going/growing between Heath and Catalina. This book has 14 chapters that suck you in and leave you wanting more.

This is the beginning of Heath and Catalina’s story. Another explosive start! We first met them in Forever (Betrothed #7) and I was so excited to see how their story developed. Such a tangled web we have to explore! Up next is Secret, which is book 9 in the series and the continuation of their story. #MSBB

This was a nice introduction to the next set of characters. Heath and Catalina are steamy hot with a relationship that is straight up Romero and Juliet. Her Brother wants Heath dead and Heath and the skull Kings hate him too. This makes for tons of drama and lots of passion. Can't wait for the next book

The skull king has definitely found his match! I absolutely love Catalina, her fire, her take no prisoners attitude, and fearlessness makes her the perfect match for the Skull King! The ending makes you question Catalina’s loyalty! I can’t wait for the next book!

I loved this book. I love the battles between Cat and Heath. They are hilarious together. And as usual, Damien is annoying as hell. This book had me laughing and angry but for some reason it wasn’t at Heath and Cat. I truly can’t believe that Damien can be so stupid at times. 🤦🏾♀️. Amazing book. And I can’t wait for Secret.

I can’t get enough of Penelope’s book. This one was short but full of drama. Catalina is a strong independent woman and doesn’t take any crap from a man. Heath is my new favorite character right now. Can’t wait to see what happens.

OMG where to start. I love this book couldn't put it dow which is probably why it felt like such a short read. Penelope is such a great writer her books gets better every time. I so would recommend this book.
