I Just Forgot (A Little Critter Book)

I read these books with my brothers when we were little kids and I bought them again to read to my 3 month old son so he can share in the memories we have with the Little Critter books. Such silly little stories and drawing, wonderful meanings, and easy to follow along pages. I can't wait until he is older so I can listen to his little voice read these to me. I love these books, especially this one. My brothers and I would laugh and laugh when my dad would read it. I can't wait for those fond memories with my own children.

My daughter started out reading these books 13 years ago and now I have a son. I can tell you that having these books on hand helped her reach her AR reading goal every month in school. She could take the test on the book in 1st grade and really get points and awards in class which boosted her self esteem. We love the art of the newer critter books a bit better than the older ones but the stories are perfect. This time around I plan on getting lots of these books for my son because early reading is so essential!

Mercer Mayer are classic tales that touch your child's heart. Easy for them to understand, creative in message and all around one of the best children's authors I've come across! This one, I just forgot, is a classic tale of life. We all have forgotten at one time or another so a good lesson both ways. I really heart Mercer Mayer books!

My daughter is 6 and in Kindergarten. I had no idea what this book was, but wanted to add a book for her to my order. This turned out perfect for the both of us. It's all about how this little kid keeps saying "I forgot" when he makes really big mistakes and really big messes that are really hard for his mom to keep up with. LOL. Which is exactly what my daughter has been putting me through lately. It helped remind her how hard Mommy has to work to keep up with her "I forgots" and helped me realize, I need to try and not let the stress get to me too much, because slowly but surely she is learning and maturing. It just takes time. And Lord knows, so much patience. :)

This story is cute and funny but why oh why is critter’s MOM the only one to remind him of stuff! Considering removing it from my kid’s shelf because I don’t want him to think that I should be the only one helping him with daily tasks. Sigh.

My daughter has a problem remembering things.. this book seemed to be all about her, she loved it! I had to read it 2x that night.

Mercer Mayer writes the cutest books! My grandchildren always loved the stories and finding the cricket or spider on the pages. These stories let them know it's ok to be human. Cute lessons to be learned.

This is a book for young mom to read. It encourages patient and understanding towards little people who are just practicing independence and responsibility.

So book is not complete. Only has like 6-7 different pages that are out of order and also repeat themselves.

My kids love these books. I read them to my 2 year old and 7 year old nearly everyday. Enjoyable for both ages. When I ask them to select a book for me to read, they usually select this one. It's also easy enough for my 7 year old to read.

My grands adore this series. They goggle throughout the book. Nice illustrations. A fun read.

Wonderful series. Had as a child and I'm so glad I get to share them with my children now. They love them and they're great for teaching certain life lessons. They open up lots of conversations and they're really really great.

Purchased these books for my granddaughter. She absolutely loved them. Bought the same books for her dad when he was her age. He loved Mercer Mayer books too!!

I hadn't seen a Little Critter book since my childhood when I wandered into a used book store and saw one at 29 years of age. I was instantly filled with happiness. I bought all the ones they had and then Amazoned the rest. I love these simple, lovely books and my almost 2-year old son does too. Recommend for all children.

We love the Little Critter books. The kids find him very relatable and the pictures always make them laugh. Little Critter is very forgetful just like my 5 year old, so of course he loves this book. And Little Critter has the same chores he does.

My son loves these books! They teach amazing lessons. I think we may own every Bernstein bear book.

I read Mercer Mayer books when I was younger and loved them, so I decided to get my child some. They are the same as they were, however, these books are very floppy, so I would recommend they be for a littler older children who know to respect books. My son is 2 and we read them at night so that I am holding them instead of him. Still good books though.

I bought this trying to get my son to read more and the way He laughed and grew so excited to turn the pages of the book, made me so excited! Great condition.

I purchased these Mercer Mayer books for out youngest son Darius, as teaching tools for "life" concepts. Of late, I've been giving them to my adult children as teaching tools for LIFE concepts, they cross the generational gap easily. My older boy, Ben (twenty-eight) was initially aggravated, but he read it, smiled. We talked, he assured me that he now "get's it". I would highly recommend these for any parent.

I bought this book for a beginning reader and although some of the words would be hard for the reader to read from sight reading a parent can sit with them and help them learn how to read the story and understand it more clearly. The drawings were classic through the book and easy to draw the child into the story. I can't wait until the child I bought this book for is able to read it to me and then to read the story to her younger sister.

Good and very repetitive

I read the Mercer Mayer books to my sons when they were little and I still have a couple that I cannot part with. These are just adorable books with good messages in them. Truly the Mercer Mayer books are a feel good book. My personal favorite was one called "Just Grandma and Me" as my sons loved my mom so much when they were small. There are many to choose from.

I enjoy the Mercer Mayer books. They have great lessons and are a blast to look at. My 16 month daughter enjoys looking at the pictures, always entertaining and fun, especially the little critters, (spider and mouse in this book) that appear in just about each section giving kids something to find while reading. Will be getting a collection of these!

We keep over 100 books on our grandsons shelves at any one time. He enjoys reading about 3-5 books per night and we have done this since he was very young. You never know which book they will enjoy most and when he grows out of them we pass them to family and friends.

We bought this for our granddaughter for Christmas. She brings one home from the school library all the time. She really likes this book because she says it seems like someone wrote this book about her. She loves having one of her own :)

It was ok. It didn't have any strategies to help our 6 year old remember some things. It was just a book about forgetting.

This is a good book for beginner readers. The sentences are simple and the story is short enough for them to read on their own. They can also relate to the story

This is a cute little book. It could probably be more clever but the message is good - I try to remember but sometimes I forget - it creates a forum for discussion with your little one. Of course it has the cute Critter illustrations.

I read Mercer Mayer's books to my children when they were young...25 years ago...but these Little Critter books do not age. The stories and lessons are just as fresh and enjoyable as they ever were! Highly recommended!

This was the opinion of my grandaughter (4 years old) after reading the book with me (grandmother) Maria Cecilia explained to me: " look , Little Critter behaves very bad -she didn't like the disorder around the Little Critter-, ¿why the mother allows him to through things in the floor?; also she didn't like the image of the Critter when is not obeying his mother. She asked me is he is not going to school where one learn good things. At the end, I asked: ¿Did you like the story? "She said, yes, but I do not want to read it again".
