Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone: Ravenclaw Edition; Black and Blue

I bought a ravenclaw book. It didn't come wrapped like a brand new book, and because it wasnt wrapped it got bent up on the bottom of the books cover which is super disappointing. I was kind of bummed. I bought a hufflepuff one from a different seller and it came in perfectly. No bends no little tear. I want to collect all four houses, I'm actually a hufflepuff. But I wanted them to be equally good quality and starting off the bat they arent. So good quality if you dont mind it being a little bent along the edges, but if you want it wrapped and brand new I probably would find some where or some one else to go through.

I would give less than 1 star since it not only came unprotected and scratched but ripped so wholly as a gift. Please send a replacement as soon as possible. It was meant as a gift for tomorrow.

Exceeds expectations. Brand new sealed in its plastic. Information on the house & a short quiz in the back was unexpected! Very happy I choose the ravenclaw edition instead of the other 20th anniversary edition! Ravenclaw pride!!💙I will definitely be passing this story on to my children, glad I have such a lovely edition to do so💓☇

Honestly this was packed lazily and there are some crazy creases in the cover. Also who tapes an invoice to the inside of a special edition book on the pages?! My beautiful blue page now has an ugly white blotch on it. Still looks good but cmon I expect more. A book should be shipped in a box. Not a bag. I didn't appreciate pulling my book out of a cramped mailbox. This made my Ravenclaw heart weep.

This copy is so cool! It has a map of Hogwarts, and lots of information about Ravenclaw! It's so cool!

Everything about this book is wonderful except for one thing: the quiz answers are missing from the back! I’ve searched the whole book, front to back, and they are not anywhere. I feel like I was given an “oops” copy of this book and am sad that I got a copy with something missing from it. I know it isn’t an actual part of the story but I still paid for it and part of it is missing. The book itself was not damaged, there slight fading in the paper covering near the binding but otherwise in good shape.

This is a great book... BUT it smells aweful. It smells like strong play doh. Still does after weeks. Couldn't read it for long periods of time because the smell made me lightheaded. If it wasn't for the smell, would have given it 5 stars

Obviously I had to buy this, since I’m in the Ravenclaw house. It’s a beautiful cover, I’m crazy for it. I can’t wait for the other books to be published in Ravenclaw editions as well!!! Highly highly recommend for every Ravenclaw to have perched on their shelves :)

Its a beautiful edition for the Potter fan! The Ravenclaw edition is still the story but in the colors of the of one of the 4 houses. My 10yr. old Ravenclaw loves that she is representing her house!

It's Harry Potter, of course it's good! Philosopher's Stone is a magnificent foray into a magical world full of color, warmth, fun, happiness, friendship, and good lessons. All ages will enjoy. If you're skeptical about joining the Harry Potter world, think about the fact that it's the best selling literary series in the world and give it a try. It's a relatively short book and an easy read. You won't regret it. I got the house edition: Ravenclaw. For starters, the colors are blue and bronze (unlike the movies where they changed it to silver). Also, it's full of house pride. Extra content at the beginning and end of the book, details about the house and famous Ravenclaws (like the witch who invented Floo Powder!) - all add up to a collectible I'm proud to have on my shelf. Solid binding and delicate printing make it pretty and elegant.

I purchased this for my nephew who was sorted into Ravenclaw. He loved it and now wants the rest of the series in Ravenclaw editions. The detail and quality of the book is excellent, and the product arrived undamaged.

I LOVE this book! I was so hesitant to buy it at first because of the reviews where the book was heavily damaged upon delivery, but my book is in perfect condition! The sticker is a little scratched but nothing to be annoyed about! I am a very proud Ravenclaw and can’t get over how obsessed I am with this edition!

Book showed up in good condition, couldn’t order this from the Bloomsbury site, so I’m very excited I was able to get my hands on it! It’s basically just a new cover with a little supplementary house info, but still a fun addiction to my Harry Potter collection. Only owning the American copies, it’s fun to read them unchanged.

I love the material and background information included. However, the cover jacket came a little torn around the edges. The book was nicely wrapped in plastic wrapping, which kept the book from getting scratched. I would recommend collecting this series. The book is slightly lighter and smaller than I exoected for a hardback book.

The book came with roughed up edges and was completely wrinkled on one end of the cover. It didn’t look new at all. The glue is even coming out of the binding. A refund was requested. This was supposed to be a gift.

I'm posting a review of the ACTUAL product, not the illustrated version that for some reason is on this page. This is supposed to be the collectors edition of The Philosopher's Stone (Ravenclaw). Basically the book is the unedited UK version with some trivia and games placed in at the back and front. If you buy Ravenclaw, then the trivia and games are supposed to be Ravenclaw themed. Instead, this really is just Pottermore extras slapped together at the back of the book. If you're a true Potterhead, the only reason you're buying this is because of the Hogwarts House gimmick...so you ALREADY know the Pottermore things posted here. The book is the same size as the US paper back version, even if it's hardcover, so it's not even a match for any of the hardcovers you already have. The quizzes and games are so simplistic that even a casual fan can master them. The trivia is basic... you know who Luna Lovegood is and you learn NOTHING new. Overall, this is a cheap money grab. Even still, if you're in the US and want to read the UK version and have been having trouble getting a hold of one, this will work. It's relatively cheap and lets you read "motorbike" instead of "motorcycle"

I love the book very much...it came with a little stain nothing much..there are not much pictures in the book. There are also little scratches. For the side of the book the colors are navy blue and bronze to stay true to the book Series

Keep in mind this is the British wording of the book,some things are worded differently than the Americanized version. I absolutely love it though.

I ordered the fully illustrated, IN COLOR, original reprint of the Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone " in the Ravensclaw edition from the UK for my Granddaughter who is a huge Harry Potter fan,and expected just what we ordered! . What I got was a cheaper version with no illustrations on any of the pages sunless you want to count the little stars/asterisks on the top of the chapter page and so far it looks the story is not in the original version that used the English variations of many words that were changed for the US version. Then there was the month long wait for a book from the UK because she wanted the label and stamp/ tracking information to show it came from the UK and where does this label show, NEENAH, WI. So we have patiently waited for a spectacular book from England and have been short changed!! All in all I am very disappointed

Obviously, it's hard not to love this series. This edition is one of the most beautiful editions I have owned. It is the Ravenclaw Edition which was printed for the 20th Anniversary of the first publishing of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (you can find Editions for all of the houses). What makes this edition different besidea the cover is the bonus information inside. You get information about the House, the founder, notable people who have come from that house, the house ghost and even a fun quiz to take at the back of the book. I hope they do something similar for the 20th Anniversary of all of the books in the series.

When this product was delivered there was a large, clean rip in the jacket and on the spine of the book. Love the book but came damaged.

Beautiful edition of the obviously wonderful book -- I only give it four stars because it did come slightly damaged one of the corners was crushed in transit.

The overall book is great for any collector, like myself. However, the book came poorly packaged and the front matte black cover is already worn and has a scratch on it. I was looking forward to displaying this, but now I’m debating if I should return it because I’m very disappointed.

Way to milk your fanbase for profit. It's not essential for a Harry Potter nerd, but it's a fine edition.

My husband asked for this as a Christmas gift. I was skeptical because of the picture advertised. I'm glad I bought it. He and I both loved it! It is perfect gift for a Ravenclaw. The artwork on the cover is really cool. The book seems well made, and the introduction to Ravenclaw is nice.

I love the color of this book and it has an amazing feel in the hand...like it has a silk coating on it. Very nice edition of the Harry Potter books. I can't wait for the others in the series to be released.

Loved the outside of the book but when I opened it it had a big chunk ripped out of the front inside cover and 2 pages after as if someone ripped out a price tag or something. Super sad to see a book damaged like this for no apparent reason. The rest of it is beautiful and I haven't seen any other damage besides the front.

I am so excited it’s philosophers stone version because all my other editions are the US sorcerers stone. The little info about the house on the inside is so neat! Def ad this to your collection!

I wish they had released the whole series in House colors at the reasonable price I purchased this for. It was completely unnecessary but made me giddy just looking at it. Too bad it's so hard to find cool, awesome Ravenclaw stuff :(

Fantastic anniversary special edition. I love that the book has been released in four versions for each of the four houses and that they are also in house colours. The extra information at the front with information about the founders of each house and other information. I love it! Bought all four versions!

Come on, you really don't need a synopsis for this book, surely? Okay then. Orphan Harry Potter never knew his parents and has grown up with his awful uncle, aunt, and cousin. Harry finds out on his tenth birthday that he is actually a wizard, and will be attending Hogwarts, a school for the magically gifted. Add in constant peril, wizard chess, Quidditch, and Snape (who will forever be Alan Rickman) and it's one hell of a entertaining read. Although I've seen the films countless times, I've only read the books once. I decided to give them another read through now I have the Ravenclaw editions. I enjoyed the additional information and illustrations, and although it starts off slow, I soon became caught up in the fantasy world once again.

A really beautifully presented edition. Makes a great gift for any Potter fan (provided you know what house they are in!) A bit heftier than my old paperback copy of The Philosopher's Stone, this edition also includes a few added extras and illustrations relating to the relevant house. Online the colour looked a bit garish, but in the flesh it's actually very nice. As for the story itself - a true classic, my generation's "Lord of the Rings". If you haven't read it, get it now - you can easily read this book in a day (probably in one sitting). I've lost count of how many times I have read this book and am always ready to delve back to Hogwarts. If you're a first time reader the House edition probably won't make much sense - why not get it from your local library, find out where you belong and then get the relevant edition later on?

Mine arrived with a few little scuffs and a little battered from the journey but most books do tbf. I didn't even realise it had some added extra bits about your house, the founder etc so I'm excited to read those. A really beautiful book and it looks nice even without the paper cover just plain black with blue metallic writing on the side.

She said it comes with little extras that the original books didn't and was ecstatic at the fact she aced the mini quiz at the end. The rest of the titles are now saved ready to be purchased asap!

As most reviewers here, I am a long-time fan of the Harry Potter series. I bought the hard back edition and it is wonderful! Beautiful design, with a few added extras from the original, e.g.: a portrait of Rowena and additional facts. The only niggle I have is that the dust cover was slightly bent over, and the 20th anniversary sticker was scratched. Apart from that, ace!

What is nice about the house version of the philosopher's stone is at the beginning there are a few pages which tell you about the founder of the house their qualities and the house ghost. The only slightly disappointing thing is the the whole page is not the house colour only the edge of the book.

I am so happy with this purchase. It arrived quickly and looked exactly like in the picture. It was a gift for my boyfriend and everyone really like it and even my sister who is no a big fan of books in general said that it was the most beautiful book she had ever seen. There weren't any damages to the book (I'm always scared of this with hardbacks) and I recommend purchasing this for the Harry Potter fan in your life.
