Often we wonder why and in a very clear and compelling way, Dr. Stanley expounds on the answers. The result is book that is inspiring, comforting, and at times convicting (but not condemning). Additionally, there are many incredibly stunning and inspiring photographs as you journey through this book. If you are struggling through hard times, I highly encourage you to read this little but powerful book! It also makes a great gift for others.

Bought the e-book from Amazon after having purchased and read the hardcover version (from In Touch Ministries). I needed it in my own library, though I purchased originally for another. It is the best help with understanding brokenness in our lives that I've read in 45 years of being with God through Jesus! The photos themselves would have been worth the price. They are expandable in the kindle version, so you lose nothing of their impact. This has become one of my most treasured books.

I went through serious and awfully painful illnesses that God has bought me through. Now dealing with a 14 year old going through chemotherapy treatments for stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer. This has been a long emotional journey and still in the process. But I've learned that, God's grace is sufficient in every area of my life, large as well as small. Thank you for your messages. We all need to find out where our blessings are even through our brokenness.

READING this book is a blessing in itself. It presents Gods heart of love and compassion to help us navigate the trials and pain in our lives in a fresh way. It gives a clearer perspective on Who God is and Who He is to us. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book!

EXCELLENT !!! As always Dr. Charles Stanley is right on point. God works through this man and it is so obvious as you read any of his books, especially this one. It is also filled with beautiful photos. I bought a copy to keep and a few to give out as gifts. I highly recommend this book.

This book came at such a great time. I am being broken at work something awful and have many uncertainties occurring in my life. The peace of yielding to God and reading this before was comforting and gave me the peace to eat each night knowing God was in control.

Does a great job of showing how spiritual growth and rewards come through trials...if your focus is the Word, simple instruction but not always easy, with our brokenness.

I have been using Dr. Stanley's devotionals for the last two years and decided to read more from him. This book will be transformational in my walk with the Lord. We all must submit to His brokenness.

The subtitle of this small gift book by Charles Stanley is How Pain Reveals His Deepest Love. Now, I am not usually a fan of gift books but this volume, which is an abridged version of Stanley's The Blessings of Brokenness, is a rare exception. I loved it from the moment I opened the cover and saw the beautiful photography. Charles Stanley is not only a gifted speaker, writer, and pastor but his passion for photography comes through to enhance the words of the book. I found peace just looking at the photographs. Each one seems to belong perfectly to the chapter it accompanies. Another difference with this gift book is the depth of the writing, while a short abridgement to a larger book there is still plenty of truth on these pages. The words can bring healing to a broken soul even more than the photographs for they are based on God's Word. Chapters are: Broken and Blessed? God Wants the Best for Us Why We are Broken Obstacles to Accepting Our Brokenness What Does It Mean to Be Made Whole The Development of Spiritual Maturity The Process of Breaking Our Protest Against Brokenness Preparation to Bear Much Fruit The Promise of Blessing My Prayer for You If you are going through severe trials, this book is for you. If you know someone who is suffering, this is the perfect small volume for them. It is the kind of book which would be good to purchase a couple copies to have on hand when you want to share God's truth and His love to a person but you are not sure what to say. Personally, I have enjoyed just picking it up and perusing it off and on. It is highly recommended. Finding God's Blessings in Brokenness was provided by the publisher for the purpose of review but the opinions are my own.

Puts theology before empathy people need support and help. Not a comforting book if you have experienced a deep loss. Life takes its toll even if you are a Christian.

This hardcover book is rather small at 152 pages but it is packed with wisdom and blessings galore. Dr. Stanley is such a wonderful teacher of God's Word and he has put together the most beautiful Scriptures to encourage us as we go through times of brokenness and pain. He asks us if we are willing to surrender anything to God to allow Him to bring about His purpose for our life. Although the process can be painful and difficult, in the end it is good. Dr. Stanley shows us how we can surrender all to God and have peace about it. This little book is packed with Biblical wisdom written in a way that is easily understood and applied to our life. There is one page where Dr. Stanley asks these questions. For me, these fully encapsulated what this book is about. These questions are as follows: What is happening in the spiritual area of my life? What might God want to do in my relationship with Him? How might God work in this time of brokenness to restore me, renew me, remake me and remold my relationship with Him? How might God work in and through these circumstances to bring me to greater wholeness? This book helps us to answer these questions for our life and bring us to a great joy through our brokenness. This book has a beautiful message but, the book itself, is gorgeous. It is filled with the beautiful photography of Dr. Stanley. Page after page of amazing photographs of God's creation to inspire you and bring you a sense of peace. I loved just looking at all the photos because they are so amazing and beautiful. They perfectly match the message of this book! This is such an encouraging book and I've really enjoyed it. It would make a wonderful gift to someone in the hospital, suffering from illness or any other issues that brings about the feeling of brokenness in our lives. I love this book and have gone through it several times. Re-reading the encouraging message of God's peace and purpose and enjoying the beautiful photographs. I don't know whether we are weak from looking for a way out or we just don't care that much anymore. Its hard to move on from the brokenness. Its hard to stand back up and fight. We get weak from hit after hit after hit. God tries to help us but He can't do much unless we plead for Him to step in. Throughout the book Pastor Stanley takes us through some of the thoughts and emotions that may be plaguing us and shows us that it is in those difficult places God reveals Himself. "Finding God's Blessings in Brokenness" is yet another great title by Charles Stanley. As mentioned in the title, the book addresses the issue of being blessed by God when we are broken by Him. Around 160 pages, some of the topics covered include: 1. Reasons we need to be broken. 2. Things we trust in instead of God. 3. The kind of supernatural ministry God does in and through us when we are broken for His glory. 4. How God can arrange circumstances for us to be broken. 5. The types of rebellion we express towards God. 6. Traits of Christ's character produced in us when we are broken. 7. 5 great blessings from brokenness. The book flows smoothly from topic to topic and is written in the typical Stanley - to the point, insightful, convicting, and encouraging. Good read and challenge to hang in there when God is in the process of breaking you. Trust Him, He knows what He's doing! Recommended. This was the same book as Blessings in Brokenness, just a different title. Don’t waste your money.

I'm a long-time fan of Dr. Charles Stanley, whose teaching has had a very important impact on my spiritual growth. This book did not disappoint my expectations of solid biblical teaching, deep insights into God's truth, and uplifting encouragement. This book is rather small in size and short in length, but it is not like any other "gift" book you will encounter. Its gorgeous nature photos throughout set a meditative mood, perfect for this topic. Dr. Stanley affirms those who are feeling broken. He offers guidance and addresses hard questions such as, "Why is God allowing me to suffer?" and "What is the purpose of my pain?" He gently challenges the reader to consider his or her brokenness from a wider perspective and use it for greater spiritual growth.
