Be Skillful (Proverbs): God's Guidebook to Wise Living (The BE Series Commentary)

I'm enjoying going through the book of Proverbs slowly with Warren Wiersbe's help in "Be Skillful" His insight in what the Scripture as a whole teaches on the subjects dealt with in Proverbs, is very helpful, and applicable.

Very good commentary all points explained well. A good study guide for small groups fellowship.

Warren Wierbe takes the reader through the reality of what really matters, God's Wisdom expressed in the Book of Proverbs. Warnings, admonishments, solutions to life's situations are shared in this short book.

His writing are so clear and concise making it easy reading and also worthwhile reading. Great book on Proverbs.

This book is filled with easy to understand Skillful living. How did a man like Solomon who had such great wisdom end up being so foolish? A commentary like this is filled with just good basic instruction I would highly recommend this book for the person who wanted to learn the basic principles of living life well.

This book was used in a Bible study. I liked it because it was probing and insightful. Questions at the end of each chapter weren't just fill in the blank; you had to apply what you had read and think them through.

easy to read style, challenging applications, and great insight into passages

This is an excellent book, the author touched on points that many question and brought clarity in how to read Poverbs. I recommend it to those interested in obtaining a deeper understanding of the Word of God.

Warren Wiersbe gives a lot of good insights in this short commentary on the Proverbs. This is a good commentary for someone who doesn’t know Hebrew.

We're half way through the book, doing it as a group study; so far it's been excellent. Lot's of scripture references as well.

An excellent tool for small group study or personal quiet time. The Wiersbe "Be series" is top shelf. I used the Nehemiah study book last year...simply exceptional!

Very helpful in our group study.

I bought the book to use as a resource for a writing assignment about Proverbs and found it useful. The writing is easy to understand, and the background information is very helpful without being overly scholarly. The writer is skillful at providing summary paragraphs that capture the basic contents in an organized way. The last part of the book deals with general topics found in Proverbs, which makes it a little difficult to find the corresponding commentary on a specific proverb. But overall, this is an excellent introduction to the book, which should prove useful and instructive to most readers.

I am in the process of reading and studying this book now, but haven't really spent enough time with it yet to make a meaningful evaluation of it. The author has a very good rpeutation for his Biblical Study guides, however so I'm sure it is a good book.

We live in the information age certainly not in the age of wisdom. "Be Skillful" is about Godly Wisdom. Warrens Wiersbe's there is how to make a life for yourself chocked full of priorities and principles. The book is bout wealth that lasts throughout eternity. The major sections of the book.... What wisdom is and where to find it. How to choose the right path in life? What happens when you choose the wrong path? How to make the best use of time and money? How to make and keep the right kind of friends? How to build a happy marriage and successful home? "Be Skilled" must be studied along with the Word as that is where true truth and wisdom resides. It makes a great Bible Study book. Easy jet packed full of yes, wisdom.
