Trapped within the body of the monster he unwittingly transformed into, Kaneki is forced to reexamine his past as he struggles to regain consciousness. Meanwhile, Touka manages to locate her husband within the bulk of the monster, but releasing Kaneki has the unintended, terrifying consequence of awakening an army of smaller monsters!

The Wind Up
This volume moves fast! Even so, Ishida is effortless with his character development and action pieces. Nothing feels out of place or forced. The art in this volume is also exceptional and some of Ishida's best. With the saga nearing its final volume, this one does a fantastic job of bringing things home and really rewarding readers who have stuck with this story from the original TG run. Yonebayashi gets a ton of presence in this volume as well which was awesome! She's been long overdue!
