Another Fun Read in my Favorite Series

I loved it, small flaws and all. By small flaws I am simply referring to observations made in the more critical reviews. To me the story wasn't slow or formulaic. I love the little details the author puts into each scene such as describing how someone is fidgeting while eating their meal. She makes the character come alive with these little details. But she doesn't overdo it enough to make the story tedious. I'm so glad Adam is still around. He and Danielle have a very endearing rapport and Adam is revealed as a much more honestly devoted grandson than I ever thought he was in the first book, when I thought he was a conniving rat fink and unworthy of such a sweet and intelligent grandmother. He is very flawed but in a realistic and funny way. We wouldn't want to see him paired romantically with Danielle but he makes a pretty good surrogate brother or cousin especially now that Cheryl is gone and Dani has no family left. There are some loose ends at the end of the story but we can now be confident they will play into future stories. I am fine that Danielle is in a relationship limbo in this story. It makes for some amusing back and forth between Walt and Chris. Especially when another guy enters the scene or tries to. Heather is a very interesting character. She is a disturbing presence, though. She's very troubled as we saw in the last book. I worry about her because she's not particularly endearing, so I wonder if she has staying power in a town where the per capita mortality rate is astonishingly high among people with questionable circumstances. She adds so much color to the series, so I would hate to see her go ghost on us. I like that the author works in the opportunity for characters like Adam and Bill to show other better sides of themselves. That goes for some ghosts as well. It makes for some cool moments that pop up when you least expect it. I can't wait to read the next story.

Book 10 and it keeps getting better

Local banker Steve Klein who we’ve met in several other books has been fishing on the Pier on Thursday night while his wife Beverly has her bridge group in. Steve who we learn has a bad allergy to shellfish, so while eating tamale’s that his friend Baron Huxley brings to him. So poor Heather Donovan is jogging Steve’s body washes up on shore. Over ten years ago Baron’s wife Melissa was strangled in an alley and her murderer was never found. How is it that Hilliary’s muse Antoine Paul always seems to know when a murder will occur and another book comes out. But Hilliary Hemingway passed away from natural causes the day before she was to leave Marlow House, is this why Antoine Paul is peeking in windows and roaming the town. All the normal characters are on board to help solve the latest murder

slow but steady.

I love the Haunting Danielle series. I pre- purchase each book as it becomes available. Overall the series is fast paced, fun and very interesting. I WOULD recommend them to anyone. This particular book, "The Ghost and the Muse" seems to be much slower than the previous books. There seems to be very little "happening". The characters discuss the same set of information over and over again with different people. It's like a book version of the grapevine. Danielle tells the Chief something, the Chief tells Brian, who then tells Adam, etc and so on. Normally I read Haunting Danielle straight through. But this time I actually got bored and put it down twice, and I'm only halfway through! If you are wondering if this series is for you, please start with the first book. It will help you understand all that follows and is a great introduction to the series. "The Ghost and the Muse", not so much.

Who ki!led the banker??

When Fredrickson port bank manager dies by falling of the pier at first everyone thinks it was an accident until the the police realize that it was murder. But who would want to kill Steve? Well maybe his mistress he had just dumped, or his ex-buisness Lardner who was going to be approached by the FBI to help bring him down? His wife didn't know about the mistress so she had no motive. Who is the strange ghost who has shown up in town? And why does the mystery writer who died in sleep at Danielle's B & B refuse to move on? So many questions, to find the answers you will have to read this, the tenth book in the exciting series Haunting Danielle by Bobbi Holmes. Ms Holmes is a excellent storyteller, whose ongoing storyline is fascinating. The ghost who lives in Dani's B & B is almost the perfect man except for one small problem, he's been dead for almost 100 years. The characters in the story are believable and sympathetic, you will fall in luv with them all. Highly recommended.

Walt handles the palooka 😀😂👏

I thoroughly enjoy visiting Frederickport even when murderous creeps hang around. I loved Walt's method of teaching the visiting palooka some manners around a lady. That word, palooka, has me cracking up every time I see it. Even my teenagers find it hilarious when I now use the word to call them out for poor manners or messy rooms.

She is so creative

I would recommend this book to everyone. The whole series. She is creative an makes you think of many possibilities. The setting are beautiful an the trade of romance is so understated. I have them as ebooks. But I want the series in real live paper to touch an smell. An read over an over

I bought the first 15 books for my sister who kept telling me I need to read this series .She died in Jan. of '18 & read all off them....I just started the beginning of Aug. of this year & will probably have them all read before the next one I preordered! Love the characters & twists in the stories!

Outstanding!!!!!!

Another excellent book in the Haunting Danielle series. This is one of my favorite series. With each new book you feel as though you are reconnecting with old friends. I love all of the characters. Bobbi Holmes is an excellent writer. The mysteries are well thought out and difficult to predict. I hope this series never ends. Keep them coming Bobbi.

Another Great Book!

I love the installments of "Haunting Danielle". Everyone book is exciting, fun and very, very well written. I truly hope that the author's muse keeps her writing more and more books about Danielle and her handsome ghost and the mysteries that they both try to solve. It reminds me a lot of the movie "Ghost and Mrs. Muir, except that both individuals are smart and truly care about solving mysteries. Highly recommended!!

Some twists and turns along the way...

4.5 Stars... This one had some twists and turns leading the reader in one direction only to shove them the other way... The ending was a bit twisted as well; interested to see if that storyline gets revisited... Another enjoyable mystery with these memorable characters.

Absolutely love this series

I've just finished reading book 10. I have read one right after the other with a brief delay between 9 and 10. Ugh, that was hard! LOL I love this series and have preordered 11. The characters are genuinely lovable, well most of them. Walt and Danielle are my favorites but they are all fun to read about. Even rascally Adam has become one of my favorites. No spoilers here but I loved the scene with Beverly and the wine. I like her! So carry on with the great work. Anxiously awaiting #11!

Review

Your writing is absolutely brilliant. I never would have guessed the killer. As always how amazing your gift is. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of of the world.

Wow this one is good

This closes the mystery on the wondering ghost muse and boy it's good. Danielle has her work cut out for her in this one. This murder mystery has a lot of players and years of secrets. Walt displays some major ghost magic to save Danielle. The end is a shocker. This is a must read in this series.

Never a dull moment!

So totally love this series! There are plenty of ghosts around in this story, one belonging to the local banker and another to the mystery writer staying with Danielle. Is the mystery surrounding their untimely deaths related? And read how Walt flexes his powers to rescue Danielle.

The Ghost and the Muse (Book10) By Bobbi Holmes and Anna J McIntyre

Five stars, book ten was reAlly good it was like solving four murders, but one was really left unsolved.. It was brilliant especially when Walt gets involved.. Good ending

Outstanding Read

This series just keeps getting better and better!! I hope this series can continue until Danielle is old and grey and will cross over to be with Walt!!

Hillary, the mystery writer is still at Marlowe House ...

Hillary, the mystery writer is still at Marlowe House. When she dies unexpectedly the police have serious issues...because witnesses saw the writer in a place she could not have been...if the coroner's time of death is correct.

Great series; would recommend

Love this series from day 1 of reading it. It's such a fun story line. The fact that it goes on for quite some time in this series is a plus. The characters are well formed, good plots. I always enjoy reading any books in this series.

Great ending

I was getting bored with this series but this book renewed my interest, it was a bit twisty & unpredictable with a great ending.

Great Plot Twists

Wow! This book had some amazing plot twists and surprises along the way. I really like the characters and the whole series. I look forward to what happens next.

Great series

Believable situations. Wonderfully written fantastic characters and there interactions. Unfortunately written in a way that your knees to read them in order to understand some actions or statements

WRITE FASTER !

These books are so darned good that I will have to go into reab if this author retires. The amount and type of detail is astonishing and gives the reader the sense of being an unnoticed spirit sharing in everything.

Make it a tv series, please.

I really liked the twist in this story. If anyone is reading this, I hope you are willing to listen when I say that this series should be made into a show.

A really good read

A really good read. Interesting storyline. Engaging characters, good pace and well written. No explicit or gratuitous sex or violence. Looking forward to future books.

Mystery

I am loving each one f these books

Terrific Series

Such involved mysteries but told in a way that the reader can follow easily and not get bogged down in needless detail. And the characters are so very interesting. Makes me want to hurry and read the next book so I can see what is going on in their lives.

Interesting

This is the 10th book in the Haunting Danielle series and I have enjoyed them all. Of course, you must suspend reality when you read about seeing, talking to and living with ghosts! I will continue reading all the books until the series ends.

Another good read

This series has been constantly entertaining but I especially enjoyed this one. For those that like a little paranormal, fun story and feeling like you are part of the neighborhood......enjoy!

Good Books

Love this series and have them all.

Wonderful continuing series

Interesting how what looked one way at the start turned out just the opposite. The ending was something of a surprise. Wonder if Beverly will be dealt with later.

I love the Haunting Danielle series

I love the Haunting Danielle series. The characters are well thought out and the writing is pretty funny and witty. I read them one after the other and am sad that I have to wait for the next book to be released!

I like the characters but will they develop

This book was interesting and had more than one mystery in it. It moved a little slow. I like the characters but will they develop?

I love this series.

This book takes a story line into the cliffhanger from the last book, but nothing is as it seemed in what we had been led to believe about a lot of stuff. Very well written. Great story. Very good heroes and very evil villains.

Five Stars

I enjoy this series and plan to read them over again. After the other books I am behind on.

Haunting Danielle Series

I love this series! As soon as I finish one I start the next! That is what is so great about my Kindle-do not have to wait to run to a store for the next book!

Great series...

Don't miss this funny and great story line this series has to offer. You will love Walt.

Build the Relationship Between Danielle and Walt!!!!!

Love this series but getting a bit tired and boring in that there is no escalating of love interest between Danielle and Walt somehow because I do not want and can not see her with Chris. Please rectify this with the new book as it is getting tedious to continue reading without seeing any relationship growth in any of the "coupled" characters.

Wonderful books.

I love these books, suspenseful and keeps attention, great read for a nice slow afternoon. I just wish I could get the rest of the Haunting Danielle books on Kindle.

it was a good book

The misunderstood muse.

I love all the books put out by Bobbi Holms. Reading the entire series. I like them because they are not gory, sexual, etc. Just a good old fashion ghost story.

The Ghost and the Muse (Haunting Danielle Book 10)

A wonderful who done it mystery. Danielle, Lily and Walt are again looking into who killed Hillary, a mystery writer, who was also a guest at Marlow Bed and Breakfast. It seemed that Hillary died in her sleep from a heart attack. Hillary comes back as a ghost and the local bank president Steve falls off the local pier and drowns. An old friend of Steve's comes to town by the name of Baron and is up to no good. Great read.
