The Duelist 3

Absolutely phenomenal! This volume I enjoyed alot. The story is paced extremely well, no characters are left behind still going into the 3rd volume, without making it feel crowded. Alex learns more about his power but feels more, and with the introduction of the twins per the description, I really want to see more of the sisters and how they are tied to this whole story after how they took part in this volume. I really like this series so far and very much can't wait for the next volume. The character all feel real and have their own personality and are even more drawn out in this volume. Zoie and Shay feel like 2 different people at all times and never feel like one person, two name. This goes into the other characters in the book, each having small but significant additions to their story. And the interactions between Alex and his 2 wives are wonderfully charming and intimate more of the time instead of it immediately going *cough* physical all the time. The world is envisioned and feels like it really has a heart to it as well, with everything being described with great detail without too much description. There are a lot of terms I honestly don't see in Eric's other novels (like the word Bier, which apparently is the frame which a coffin is placed), but that also feels needed with a world that Eric essentially created and has its own rules and terminology and practices that I honestly don't feel I have seen or heard about in other novels. The world he is in feels so alien, yet familiar and relatable. If you are getting suggestions for Eric's books, and you are looking for a really good book to start with, The Duelist I can confidently say is your best start, next to dragon emperor and Metal Mage. Congratulations on the volume Eric and I really can't wait for Duelist 4!

Once again a truly great story. But the use of strange obscure words causes me to have to stop and look them up which takes away from my enjoyment. Also Mac showed up mounted which made him cavalry not infantry. Infantry or foot soldiers cavalry or mounted. So in essence the cavalry arrived just in the nick of time as it supposed to! This is why I only gave it a rating of a four.

I am enjoying this series as I do your others. You never disappoint. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

The story picks up shortly after Alex had mostly recovered from the curse and duel with Archus. There is a lot more character development and world building in the book that really explains much more of how Aventoll actually functions. Less action in this book but it doesn't suffer from it in the least. By far the best of the three books in the series so far and it just continues to get better. This book solidifies even more that this series is by far my favorite.

This is another great installment in Eric Vall's best series. The plot is exciting and fast-moving. The main character is likable and competent but is not overpowered, so there is actual suspense when he is in danger. The supporting characters have their own storylines and character development. The world-building is interesting and self-consistent. I finished this book in less than a day and eagerly await the next one.

If I have ever read a "let me stay awake to read just a bit more," that book is tied with this one. I had an impromptu nap between the last two chapters, so I think it's time to get the next book!

An absolute masterpiece. I love the intricate plots, the characters and the connections, affections and comradery shared between them. Despite the threats of dark magic's, evil plots and demons, it's the sense of family that we get from Alex and his family that makes these books so dang fantastic I can't put them down. My favorites Eric Vall series. Keep 'em coming!

I must say I’m surprised at how much I dislike Rylan. His presence alone takes away two stars. Also it seems to me that the Mc really needs to be proactive in finding out exactly what he was brought to this world to do. As of now he just reacts to the current problem then goes back to normal life as if there’s not a purpose he was brought here to serve

The suspense, action, and drama were all there in this latest installment of Eric Fall's Due list series. The character development was great to read and I'm loving every member of Asher Bright woods ragtag family. The ending was perfect and as much as I hate cliffhangers, it was good. I can't wait for the next one!

Damn, Alex just can't take a break from death, can he? Anyway good book, but the sex scenes need a little work. Thanks for the book

Another great book by Eric Vall. More action, character development and leveling for those who have fallen in love with this world and the people in it.

This book was great with how it processed and the additumion of possibly another women. The villain was crazy but we will see how awatmrds are given or taken

This is a great series that puts a smile on my face. Compared to the other Vall novels this one is by far the most character based driven series, and it shows. By far this is one of his best works and I can't wait for the next one.

Really good but Rylan it's kinda getting on my nerves but it's understandable also glad that there's more dungeon exploring and now alex has his sights on the next wife

With every addition to the Duelist series I fall deeper in love with the story and its characters. This is hands down the best series EV has written to date and it just keeps getting better. Here's to hoping the wait for the next volume is short.

An excellent tale filled with action, adventure sword play and intrigue. Well written with a crisp story line and excellent dialog. I'm anxiously waiting for the next installment!

Once again, we get romance, action, intrigue, betrayal and dark magics. I suspect Alex will end up with a third wife soon, but until then, plenty of adventure to go around. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

When I first began reading this series, I found it to be a little slow with its plot, but as I continue to read, I find that each book has begun to keep my interest understand hold it until I've finished the current book

This was a good read. The story is moving along nicely. The MC is a likable character along with the supporting staff.

A very action packed end and a lot through out really loving Shay and Amaya was a fun new edition. Hope to see what the council will say after that last fight on the proceedings

I'm really loving The Duelist! Alex truly is an upstanding kind of guy that you can't help but root for. I love the world building and character development.

Alex deals with the ramifications of his duel and the fact that his friend is on the run along with tithe ceremony on the horizon

This series only grows better the more you read it. More than one time I think if only Alex had the time to sit down and get a hold of the world around him. Then you realize this is the tale of a hero's wild ride with beautiful women, deadly foes, badass powers, and the end of the world are behind every turn. As the hero and the world grow in each tale so does your desire to return to the world.

Eric is just one great story teller. The family tale, the new world tale, the battles are really well done.

There were some errors where names were swapped but when someone is turning out books at the rate this author is, can’t be helped. Awesome as always

A continuing story for adults about love sex magic and magical creatures in an alternate universe. Can not wait to read the next book to see what nights the hero attains.

So this series is a new favourite of mine by Eric Vall. I eargerly waited for this book and it did not disappoint me. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and couldn't wait to see what happens. The only bad thing is something all readers hate: having to wait for the next book in the series.

I am enjoying this fantastic world Eric Vall has created. The characters and their developments are interesting and entertaining. I am looking forward with real anticipation to the next installment of the series!

Great read!

This series just seems to keep getting better and better the longer I read it. Can't wait for volume 4!

From book two, it was fairly obvious in my mind where book 3 would go. And while I was correct for the most part, the journey to get there was nothing I expected. We get another really well thought out expansion of the culture of Aventol, and bring in new unique people to help understand the future of the story. History of Horus gets a bit of time as we see how the raven man lived before Alex came into the picture. More peril, more fights, and potential new additions to the ever growing Brightwood clan. Now that 3 is done, I'm not really sure what to even expect from 4. So looking forward to what comes next.

This is one of my favorite books by this author. Usually the harem theme completely over takes the story. I like how the story continues to expand without throwing a load of women into the mix.

This book adds more drama, but also has some very nice light-hearted moments. I really enjoy the world Eric has built. If I have any complaints it's that I was hoping for a denouement, but it felt more like time returning to normal without being prepared. (Read the book to understand :) ) I still really enjoyed it. Can't wait for more.

I still don't know how Eric Vall can consistently churn out such great books in such a short time. I'm just glad that he does. I'd like to see more from some of the unfinished series but I'm sure they'll get here in time.

One of the most impressive entires in what is shaping up to be an incredible body of work. There a far more substantial implications in what starts off as a standard high fantasy with shades of social commentary about intrinsic value versus birthright and decaying indolence of entitlement

This series has a not all-powerful MC that is still learning about his new world. Good character growth for all main characters. There are some editing problems but the book is a very worthwhile read. Waiting for the next book to see where this series it going.

I greatly and eagerly await the next book in the Duelist saga! The characters are wonderful and exquisite! The plot and flow will bring a roller coaster of emotions that will leave you craving for what’s to come!

If you like anything from this author, you need to be reading this. If you've never read anything from this author, this is a good place to start. It's a very good series. The premise is pretty interesting and unique.

I started these books not really expecting much, but have been pleasantly surprised. The stories are well written and combine action, romance and intrigue.

If you keep putting out this series I will keep reading them. I started my Kindel account reading the first book of the series, and was hooked. I even went as far as to extend for 2 years so I can get all of them. I am a big fan.

One of Eric Hall best books love the main characters and growing plots and mysteries. I would recommend this series of books.

The series just keeps getting better. Characters continue to be "real" in that they have emotions, love, fear, doubt, anger, etc. Some new characters appear that may have larger parts to play. Eagerly awaiting Duelist 4.

These are wonderful little page turners, filled with feeling. An excellent balance of epic fantasy with some sexy fun.

This book in the series was my favorite one yet. In addition to the introduction of 2 new characters there is a decent delve into the past and future of the other characters that gets me excited for the next series. I just wish I’d read it slower than I did.

When you struggle together, you realize what is important. Protecting those who mean more than yourself, has you realize what is important. Love, family and being there for each other.

This series has been wonderful and one of the best from the Author. The emphasize on character development and the relationships is well done. The adopted son part is good though there are some points it gets annoying and distracts from the story.

I enjoyed this series and look forward to the next book. I do wonder if he will add to his harem even though the overall character development is good as is.
