This book is several years out of date. None of the newer cars are in it. Disappointed

This was a gift to my husband who just bought his midlife-crisis Corvette. He had a Corvette when he was a teenager but life got in the way and he sold it. He loves the book. His brother saw the book is now going to order a book for himself. My husband likes the fact that the book lists the number of Corvettes that were made during a particular year plus how many had power seats, windows, etc. He reads it every night.

Although not a car guru and do not understand all the intricacies of engine specs (for example), I do love Corvettes. I bought this to learn primarily to how the Corvette changed over the years. I am particularly interested in how to use visual cues to determine the model year. That said, this book is much more than that. It includes insider stories, racing versions, and a lot of cool photos, just to name a few bonuses. It is (obviously) laid out chronologically and each section is clearly delineated. This is a great book for Corvette fans.

If you're considering the Corvette Black Book as an informative look at the history of the vehicle, you're looking at more of a Corvette "Table of Contents." I believe the Black Book is intended for buyers, investors and collectors as a guide to determine authenticity, numbers matching, etc, on the fly, such as at a car show or auction. That's why it's sized to fit into one's pocket. The Complete Book of Corvette: Every Model Since 1953 is by Mike Mueller, an author who has written many highly informative books on Corvette. Though the book is listed as a paperback, I was surprised to find this book had covers more like cardboard - about the thickness of the back of a pad of paper - sort of in between paperback and rigid hardcover. And heavy! This 368 page book weighs over three pounds! The revised & updated version goes to the 2011 model. This is the most informative book on Corvette I have ever seen. Nearly every page pair has about three photographs - most in color. But before you think this is a picture book, there is also a ton of stories and data about each year of the 'Vette. Even all the specialty experimental, CERVs, racers and Makos are written up in the chronological order they appeared within the series. Think of it as the Black Book on steroids. Buy the book - you won't be disappointed. .

This book would have to be the mammas of corvette books, if you breathe eat and sleep corvettes are all around you and that pertains to this book aswell in which no other book comes even close to having everything in it. To describe this book as large coffee tableformat book would not do it justice because it takes up the entire coffee table. Instead what would do it justice would be to write that The photographs and illustrations are spectacular technical in defining the absurdly perfect. It's an exhaustive review of a car that has become a legend in America and all over the world, from its inception of the first 6cylinder Vette in 1953 right through to the fire breathing world beating C6. A complete list of prototypes and experimental models to the famous pace cars and the ever admired specialty street and competition racing have made the Corvette a living automotive legend for more than half a century. There are a vast array of Corvette books on the market in the world that celebrate the most powerful and most attractive sassy models,of all and few list the lesser famous, prototypes,or racers. This book leaves nothing out, in that it showcases photos, text, and technical specifications of all the models since 1953 if it happened they have it in this book nothing is left out. The Corvette in the end is America's most iconic car and this book plays tribute to all of it who have participated in creating a legend that is the car.

This is the updated issue of this book by the author. The last one was written several years back. If you are a Corvette aficionado or just really like the car, this book is about as good as it gets. The great thing about this book is that it also contains a condensed version of the Corvette Black Book towards the back. So, just about anything you would want or need to know about Corvette is contained in this book. If you have an automotive library, you should consider adding this book to it.

The book itself if beautiful. I got it for my boyfriend who is a HUGE corvette fan. Los of information and pictures. However, I received the book with a torn jacket (little packing in the box). When I requested an exchange it also came damaged (no packing in the box). Not sure if I will keep it or do a return since the quality is not as it should be.

Bought this as a gift for someone who is very hard to buy for & he loved it. He has other books on corvettes but he said this included more info & pictures than the others he had. He thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It is a large & heavy book, crisp print & photos. It was priced well & arrived in perfect condition & when promised.

It’s very helpful. It covers the entire span of the Corvette. So even if you don’t know anything, it gives you enough information about every year so you can get by. It has pictures of each year, and the correct engine specs etc. I found it to be very helpful!

Excellent! Great information of the history of the Corvette and pictures. Spent hours reading and enjoying this book.

Decently written - decently detailed (not painstakingly) - one thing that would have made this book perfect & ya - I know - it's asking a lot - but - from a "pure" geek point of view - two things I would have LIKE to have seen is 1) tail light shots - none what so ever - also - back in the "old" days - manufactures use to pretty much give you a complete serial# detail molding on the tail-light - this book - doesn't even touch on that point - thus - miss's that mark completely - NO backend shots - come on Mr. Mike Mueller - EVERY generation of the Corvette had tail lights which were specific to that model year - this book - makes NO reference to that point 2) VIN # decoding - ZIP in this book - again - a HUGE geek miss - requires the reader to figure out if a Corvette is #"s matching - too bad this book didn't dedicate at least ONE page to all the VIN examples which "possibly" coulda/woulda been possible per model year - don't get me wrong - yes I am trashing points off this book - but - & this is a BIG BUT - the SAVING grace of this book are ALL the customer photo's & detail's which Mr. Mueller contributes from his personal collection - thus - even though this book isn't completely "geeky" for me personally - I purchased it sothat - when & IF I decide to purchase a "Vette" in the future - at least I'll have a "base" line to go by ... thus - I'll HIGHLY recommend this book for those of use whom don't know one Vette from another - which was me - I learned a TON of model year changes & all the prototype stuff was cool to learn - but - this wonderful book & I really mean that sincerely - it IS a wonder book - just leaves you wanting more - as apposed to - be a hard core reference book - it comes SO SO SO close to being one ... & ahem ... the other thing that truly truly makes me giggle is ... this whole book is about a American Icon ... BUTT ... ahem ... it's printed in China ??? ... what ??? ... really ??? ... so ... uhm ... there isn't a AMERICAN publishing house out there ... were ... this book COULD be published ??? instead ??? of being published off-shore ??? what the heck is up with that ???

I'm new to the Corvette community, having purchased my first Corvette, a new 2019 Stingray, a year ago. I want to be more knowledgeable about the car and its history and this book will help me achieve that goal.

This updated version (updated to include the C-7) is very informative with many little tid-bits concerning the Duntov era, but where it falls down is in the discussions of various one-offs and experimental. It includes the stories, anecdotes and personalities, but the omission of photos or at least drawings of many of these cars is very disappointing.

This book covers every single vette since it's begining to the C6 Zr1. Great & famous picture of vettes and people who were involved in makeing America's best sports car. This book is always on my bedside, and I read it before I go to sleep. It covers corvette by every year, which is nice. It also talks about concept cars such as xp700, CERV, Mako Shark, etc. Would've been better if they stated the specsifications more in dept.

Everything you ever wanted to know about Corvettes

The book was more than I hoped it would be. It is full of information of each generation as well as each model year. Not only does it have all the specifications and lots of pictures but has stories about the car and creators. If you are a Corvette owner or just a fan this is a good book. It comes in a nice hardcover with high quality pages throughout.

I expected a used book, but not one with the binder blown out.

I bought this book to help me in my search for a car to buy. It was useful in that regard, but it is also a very interesting history of an iconic automobile. My research interest was in the fifth generation of the Corvette (the C5) since that is the model I was interested in buying. The chapters on the other models were very informative and entertaining. I enjoy reading history, especially automotive history, and this book fit the bill for the Corvette. It is a little short on raw data, but I don't think that was the intent of the author in the first place. All in all, a good buy.

I love Mike Mueller's books, he adds so much information and you can see that he goes a long way in his researches. On top of it, he packs a great book with a lot of beautiful pictures. A must-have for car lovers and of course for Corvette enthusiast.

If you love Corvettes, you need this book. Great pictures and a ton of Corvette history. I've loved Corvettes since I was a young boy. Seeing some of the pictures brought back some great memories.

Awesome book with rich history of the Corvette, I had given this book to my brother for his 40th Birthday and he loves it. This book is so detailed and exclusive of the automobile dating back over fifty years. The Corvette is ingrained in american history and autobilia forever, the next fifty years at GM seeing them produce more Corvettes are going to be something to see.

This book was exactly what I was looking for. It provides great general detail about each generation of the great American sports car. It also includes the details on the changes within each generation, year by year, and this was really useful and helpful.

Great book. I was looking for a book that covered all of the corvette models with detailed info of each one. This is it. This book has given me all the info I needed to make an educated choice of what year and model corvette I will purchase.

For the past 10 years my husband keeps saying how much he wants a corvette. As much as I would love to surprise him with a corvette we simply can't afford it! Christmas 2009 I decided to find something to support his dream and I found this book on Amazon. HE LOVED IT. He can't put it down. In October, I will try to rent one so at least he can drive a corvette for his birthday weekend but the book was a GREAT start.

Wow. This is a comprehensive review of all Corvettes. Great pictures and descriptions. I bought it as a gift for someone who helped me pick out my first Corvette and he loved it.

Covers 60 years of Corvette history though it apparently was compiled after about 58-59 years of histroy and the last part of the book was edited to fit the 2013 as the last C6 model. Lots of beautiful color photgraphs! Enjoy!

Very detailed book. Surprisingly long and interesting book. I thought it would be more basic. Pleasantly surprised.

While not a true hardcover this book has the look of a hardcover. The photographs are excellent and a major reason I enjoyed the book. This would appeal to any car lover but obviously has the corvette owner in mind. If you want "just the facts ma'am" there are other choices. This book is a nice blend of fact and history for each model year that is covered.

My son in law loved it to go along with his other "vette" books. It is undated to current information and very detailed with quality pictures for each model year.

I was expecting something special, but I thought this book was, unfortunately, less than ordinary. The photos were all too familiar, with several actually coming from Corvette brochures. (And, as such, they included retouched photos of a previous year's models.) The book had many errors, including incorrect references, having the exact same photo on different pages with different captions, and having the same caption on different photos! There were precious few photos or descriptions of the many Corvette concepts built and displayed by GM over the years, and there was very little new information. I think that you will find there are many other Corvette books that are more complete, more accurate, and better researched. Other than the large format and the inclusion of the C7, I can find little to recommend it.

Easy read with a well documented history of Corvette's evolution and development. Each model year is accompanied with a fact sheet of statistics, standard equipment, and options. What was the only year that Corvette offered a 396? This book tells you.From C-1 to C-6, everything you'll want to know about "Vettes is in here.

Great back stories to the various models of corvettes, complemented by detailed photos.

The book itself is very informative and fun. But when I got it, one page was dog eared and was separating from itself.

I'm on the market for a vintage Corvette, and this book has proven of immediate value. If you're looking for the differences between model years, no matter how minute, this book provides answers. In contrast to the cover, which I would say isn't very distinctive, this is actually a pretty handsome volume. It's robustly bound and printed on nice paper, and the illustrations are colorful and attractive. Highly recommended.

The corvette book was a gift for my husband, who has been a Corvette fan since childhood, ( he is now 67yrs). He loves the book & said there is so much information in it that he has never seen before ! The photos are very well reproduced & it will be a book to treasure & pass on to his son.

A lot of good information if you want to do some research before going into the market for a Corvette to drive. I hadn't owned one since the '77 that I still kick myself for selling some years ago and needed to get up to speed on the C4 and up cars. It's a little verbose on history and not enough technical detail on what a lot of the things are that he glosses over, but a good primer.
