Like most seekers of knowledge I am always searching out unusual and unique books on a wide range of topics. When I saw this huge hardcover 704 page book (The book of Unusual Knowledge) book on Amazon for a bargain price I just had to have it. The twenty two chapters cover an enormous amount of interesting and informative information on numerous topics. The chapters focus on related topics in the following areas: Movies and television, American landmarks, games people play, art and literature, all about animals, money and business, intriguing individuals, earth and the Universe, waging war, happy holidays, pop culture and games, the supernatural, history, around the world, technology and inventions, death and the macabre, politics, crime, health and the human body, music, food and drink and religion. If you love books that are full of facts and information on a wide range of subjects you need to have this book in your personal or even public library donation. Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. A lot of not true.

The book is pretty cool. I got it for my husband for Christmas. He loves knowing random facts to bring up during conversations with seriously anyone. He loved looking through this and telling me weird stuff all week long after. Great product for the price. I will most likely purchase more of the series in the future.

I came across this on Amazon and was really interested but some of the reviews worried me. I thought, "What the heck, its a 704 page book for like $10 with mostly great reviews, I'll give it a whirl". So glad I did! My book arrived in prestine condition. Even if it had arrived printed upside down like some of the reviews said, I would have been ok with it and brushed it off as giving the book character. I didnt find anything cheap about the quality of the book or paper either. Mine looks like regular book pages. I made sure because this was reported from recent reviews, so I'm not sure why that has been an issue with some. Anyway, I am on page 120 and can not wait to get to this book every night before bed. It is really very interesting! Even subjects I'm typically not interested in has me yearning for more. I definitely recommend this product and would definitely buy it again. As a matter of fact I plan to. I plan to buy several copies as Christmas gifts. I'm going to keep my copy to share with my family. P.S. My only complaint is the book is advertised as Prime 2-Day Shipping and it came in 4 days. I typically take off a star for products that do not honor the TRUE Prime 2-Day Shipping they advertise but I REALLY like this book. (I say TRUE Prime 2-Day Shipping because we pay for that feature with our Prime Subscription and it does not mean a seller can for whatever reason wait several days to ship a product as long as it gets here in 2 days once it's shipped. ) ;)

I like to read this book for 10-15 minutes every night before bed or when I first wake up in the morning. It has short little stories or little blips about random events in history, facts on everything obscure. It's a really good way to get a varied and interesting story while pulling back on screen time when going to sleep or first thing in the morning. My boyfriend and I take turns reading it back and forth which is a nice way to make sure we spend time together and connect for a bit of time every day even when we're busy busy.

At first I thought this book would be one of those “funny-books”, but it is rather interesting.

We bought this book for mty mother-in-law. When she opened it, she was thrilled! She read several items to us and just couldn't get over how interesting this book is! It's also a very beautiful book and it is thick- which is also what she loved. Full of interesting facts! I highly recommend it!

Watered down info. On the positive side, a lot of gathering went into this book. The downside is that the information is related in such an incomplete, matter of fact, and uninteresting way. Many of the details that the author chose to leave out are actually dramatic and shocking, but alas, those colorful details are not in this book. The actual news articles and history books were more informative and mind boggling.

The description says this is a "padded hardcover book" and that is very true. This book is oddly soft. I gave it as a gift to my brother and the softness of the book threw him off. I flipped to a page and it said Killer bees can be angry with you for up to 24 hours. I now suspect my boyfriend might be a killer bee.

I bought this for a young child who loves to read and learn. I didn't care for all of the material. The book is huge, which I liked, but there is no way I'm going to preview the whole thing! I'm also not inclined to limit the reading of it to when I can make time to read it aloud, essentially limiting my independent children. Personally, I don't care to read or learn about some of those topics myself, regardless of whether my children read it or not. I'd be very interested in a 'G' rated version that I could confidently give to my curious learners so that they could enjoy it freely. Other than that, if you're fine with the content, the book is nice. It's large, filled with tons of information, and is sturdy. I like the look and design of it too. Would look wonderful out on a table or on a bookshelf. I also wish the different books were more distinguishable. I couldn't really tell what types of information would be different in the different books in this series. Highly recommend the publisher include some of the most controversial samples from the book in the listing so that parents would be aware of what they're getting ahead of time.

I haven't cracked it open but I know it's gonna be a fun ride on the can.

I bought this book as a joke gift for my husband because he loves learning and sharing random and sometimes useless facts with me. It turns out he really liked the book and it definitely backfired because I supplied him with material to share with me! haha! All jokes aside, it is a cool book and very reasonably priced, and I was happy to see that there are more like it because I think they will make a fun series to have on the book shelf.

It doesn’t have sturdy binding at all, I just received it today. The book itself is interesting and looks like it will be fun to read. However, it will probably fall apart soon. I’m hoping I receive one better made because I’m returning this one.

My wife and I like to have a book that we can read to each other alternately every night, and The Book of Unusual Knowledge fits the bill nicely. We haven't gotten very far in it, but what we've read about movies and Hollywood has been stuff we didn't already know. It's well written and fun so far. Also, we love the look and feel of the book; it has great physical presence.

Surprisingly great quality. The cover is thick and appears to be pretty durable. Content is indeed filled with unusual knowledge. Great buy!

If you’re a fan of unusual knowledge there’s a lot in here that isn’t that new or unusual. However I would say that the stuff I wasn’t aware of makes the book worth the purchase. If someone doesn’t pay much attention to that stuff this will be extremely entertaining. Good gift for any occasion!

This book seems to be filled with amazing content however. Someone really decided that upside down and backwards was a great publishing effect for this book. I'm glad my dad has a sense of humor so maybe he will still appreciate it however it is still frustrating to receive a product with these character flaws.

If you are a fan of the Useless Knowledge series of books you will love this. More unique vignettes than trivia this is laid out in 22 chapters like Supernatural, Politics, Death and the Macabre, etc. At almost 700 pages it uses subcategories within the Chapter, In Animals it devotes 2 pages to Bats, Presidential animals (Washington had hounds, Jefferson had bear cubs) Perfect on the night stand to amuse yourself into relaxation.

What a great book of facts that you never thought of before until you read this book. Once you start reading it you will find it hard to put down. There are facts on every subject in this book and you will never loose interest. Love it ! Would recommend this to anyone who loves to learn interesting facts. I feel that this book could be read by both teens and adults.

Wanted to love these. They will still be kept on the bookshelf. But only for very careful people that can be super gentle. The pages are so thin that if you sneeze while you’re holding one it will rip out. The pages are so thin. Afraid to use them as the pages are so thin that you can see the writing through the paper from each side. Very disconcerting. It really would not cost much to print these on good paper even halfway decent paper. Because the bindings of these books are beautiful. So shame on whoever dropped the ball. PS I bought four to be a gift. (No Way)

I bought this for my dad for his birthday and he LOVES it. He instantly started scrounging the pages telling us this-and-that about random stuff he was reading about. The cover of the book has a cheap-ish feel to it, and in general it feels very light for how big it is. Overall I'm really happy with it, and I would recommend it for sure.

Bought this from Amazon after searching for "interesting gifts for old people". I bought it for my elderly father-in-law and he loves it! He has sticky notes marking what pages he finds extra interesting. The book is quite thick and is keeping him entertained, we gave it to him for Christmas and he is still looking at it daily.

Book feels nice and has a nice spine. It does have a novelty vibe but for the price Nd amount of info, that dosent bother me. Don't care for the front picture but whatever. The lay out of the book is easy to read and is set up to be read in whatever chunk ur interested in. Bought for my daughter's home school, we flip a page stop and read what we land on. Its fun. Would be a fun gift for someone who love fun facts. Do recommend

Bought this for my tween nephew for Christmas and decided not to give it. Mentions of rape and sex escapades mentioned a few times. It wasn’t offensive but I just didn’t feel right giving it. I was worried about the binding of this book since so many people complained, but my book came perfectly intact. Would be a great coffee table or bathroom book.

The book arrived with fingerprint smudges all over the front cover! This book is very light (not heavy) and the cover is kind of cheap looking.

Alot bigger book than I was expecting. I knew it was hardcover and had lots of pages but I guess I thought it was going to be smaller in dimension size. Bought it for my husband for fathers day as he enjoys that kind of info. The print is small as well but he reads a section from time to time.

There’s a lot of pretty interesting things in this book! I got it as a gift for my boyfriend who always seems to have random information to share. It’s thick and heavy with a puffy-like hard cover. I think the font size is perfect. My boyfriend has been quite amused by most of the information. We’ve even looked into the other books that are similar!

Scuffed up, banged up, jacked up

Got this for my boyfriend’s birthday because he loves to read. (I do too!) this book is actually bigger than I thought it was going to be and thick! So many pages! I found myself reading it before I wrapped it and it’s so interesting. I might steal it from him when he’s done or even buy one for myself.

The book is HUGE. It’s as big as Stephen kings dream catcher. Beautiful hardback and arrived fast.

I bought this book as a gift for my husband. He is not a big reader, but he loves interesting facts. He’ll often send me some random fact that he has found on the internet. So I took a chance... It’s been a week and he has read for about 15 minutes every night since he’s gotten it! In the morning I’ll wake up to facts about how the army tried to use bats a bombs, or how Japanese Akitas almost went extinct. This is a super entertaining book that is hard to put down.

I bought this as a gift for my dad. I enjoyed the overall look of the book and enjoyed the few items I read within before giving it to him. I really enjoy the look of the book with the thick cushioned cover. It looks very nostalgic to me.

The gift for someone who "knows everything " or so they thought. My husband love this and has found things he DIDNT know! Shocker!

Honestly such a cool boom. Looks big but is pretty light. I like the squishy cover. And it has so many things in it that I would never even have thought to look up. 100% worth the price point. My family has been reading a page or 2 every night right after dinner and all of us are surprised
