The Berenstain Bears and the Week at Grandma's

I really liked how this showed the anxiety that can come with a new experience, even something as fun as staying a week with the grandparents! I bought this book to help prepare my daughter for her first week away (hopefully this summer!) It is great because it opens the dialogue and shows her that being nervous is normal and everything will be fine.

Grew up on the Berenstain Bear books and it's been a delight reading them to my own toddler. This one in specific we started reading in the month leading up to our first long trip away from our child with his grandparents watching him. Helped him understand the whole situation, he did great with his week with grandparents. Would recommend.

This is a fun little book that can help children feel more comfortable about going to stay with their grandparents. I love the way it shows the sequence of events, and the overall message. The illustrations are cute too, like with most Berenstein Bear books! :)

What's not to love about the Bearinstein Bears Family books? Continuing a tradition in my family I now get them for my grandchildren when I used to get them for my children at the grocery registers instead of candy and crap.

I sent this book to my grandson just prior to his very first spend the night we me and his grandfather. It was a super hit and my daughter told me that the book provoked lots of questions and created much excitement about this first adventure. FYI: We had such a fun weekend without any problems!!

I chose this book for my in-laws to give to my son for his sixth birthday. They asked me to pick out a book I thought he would like. He and his little brother have always enjoyed the Berenstain Bears, so I thought this one was appropriate. The story tells about Mama and Papa going on a second honeymoon and leaving the cubs with Grandma and Grandpa. My boys and I have seen the television episode based on this book many times, so I was excited to read the book to them. However, we were all a little disappointed that the story paled in comparison. On tv, a good portion of the story revolves around Mama and Papa going back to where they spent their honeymoon only to realize that the place (and they, themselves) have changed quite a bit. Their visit to Grizzly Mountain Lodge is only seen in the book as "thoughts" by the grandparents and cubs about what Mama and Papa are doing. It's a good book, and I would recommend it to those who love the Berenstain Bears. However, neither my boys nor I liked it as much as the tv episode or even as much as a lot of the other BB books.

I ❤️‘d these books growing up. So I definitely wanted my daughter and son to learn about the Berenstain Bears as well!! These newer versions comes with two pages of stickers. The stickers are different pictures from the book. My daughter is only 1.5 years old and I think she liked the stickers more than the story itself...

Super cute book I got it to give to my MIL as part of her Christmas gift from my boys. She has a bunch of Berenstain Bear books but didn't have this one.

Very sweet book. Bought it for my 4 year old before she spent her first weekend with her Grandparents. She loved the story of brother and sister bear being worried at first, but having fun in the end!

I used to read these to my friend's little girl. When my twin's were due, that same little girl (by then a teenager) sent me a collection of books. My children loved them all and we read at least two Berenstain Bears stories each and every night. Well now my friend's little girl is all grown up, married and expecting her own baby... what better baby gift than a collection of Berenstain Bears books? They are a very likable family of bears and each book has a little theme and wholesome message. They are great for 2-4 year olds. Amazon let me ship the box directly to their door for FREE! Im Grandma, there is no Grandpa in my life and I got this thinking it would be about ME. =) lol this is a nice book with a fun story about staying with the Grandparents for the first time but it is about both Grandma and Grandpa so the title is a bit misleading I think. Love Berenstain Bears.

I bought this book for my son for Christmas and he LOVES it! It tells and shows the wonderful relationship between Grandkids and their Grandparents and what a real treasure Grandparents are in a life!

Wasn't what I was expecting but a O.K. book. I will enjoy reading it to my Granddaughter. She is almost 2 1/2 and has stayed with both Grandparents when her parents go away so she will understand the story line well. Do not love the price. I usually buy hardback books for her.

My daughter loves the Bearnstein bear series. The stories are funny with great pictures and also teach good lessons. She liked the book so much, I heard her talking about it in her sleep:)

I bought this for my sister-in-law who is a new Grandmother. My grown sons loved these books growing up and suggested including this in with my niece's gift.

Appropriate for a 4 year old.

The book cover was trimmed incorrectly so that a sliver of the bottom of the cover is at the top instead. Luckily the inside of the book is fine, which is what matters most, but this really should have been caught during production and never been sold in this condition.

I loved this book as a child and recently started reading the Berenstain Bears books to my son. He enjoys this book a lot and is able to read it independently. It is a little outdated though, things like Sister Bear playing with jacks. My son didn't know what jacks was.

My children have several of the Berenstain Bears books but this one is a favorite. The language is delightful and deals very well with differences in older folks by being light-hearted yet respectful. This book is a hidden treasure just like the grandparents in the book.

I'll be ordering this book wrapping it up as a gift sending it to my parents for my "I'm having a baby announcement" With a little bag of Gummy Bears I can't wait to surprise them!
