As Maka and a team of DWMA students slip into Baba Yaga Castle in the guise of Arachnophobian guards, Black*Star opts for his usual style of entrance: loud and without a trace of subtlety! But although Black*Star doesn't seem to have changed much on the outside, inwardly he has at last found the way to harness the true power of the Uncanny Sword. And that means he's ready to test his blade in a round three rematch against swordsman Mifune! Will Black*Star's transformation be enough? Or will he once again find himself at the mercy of the great samurai?!

Great

Great series.

Loved It.

I love this series, its a wonderful mix of a numerous of elements pure fun and plain silliness. It's great.

The Assault Begins

As Black Star mounts a solo assault on Baba Yaga Castle and is confronted by the powerful samurai Mifune, the students inside Arachnophobia's base of operations continue their mission to destroy the Demon Tool Locks. With Arachnophobia now aware of DWMA's presence things begin to get harder as they increase security leading to Death the Kid and Free running into Mosquito who is forced to go all out against the Shinigami and Werewolf tag team. Meanwhile Ox and Harvar confront Kim and Jackie and attempt to bring them to their senses. This thirteenth volume of the 'Soul Eater' manga is another excellent volume with some very nice action as well as the usual humour. The confrontation between Ox and Kim is very nicely done and quite sweet in places as Ox refuses to give up on the person he loves. Black Star's return and the beginning of his third battle with Mifune is very nice as well and shows how much Black Star has grown over the series. There is also a brief flashback to Black Star's time in Tsubaki's home as he comes to terms with the path he wishes to walk. My favourite part of the volume though is Free and Kid's battle with Mosquito which is very well done and forces Mosquito to use more of his previous forms. The volume also includes a couple of bonus comic strips and the usual translation notes. Overall this was a brilliant volume of 'Soul Eater' and is easily worth a full five stars.

Let's go hunting for Souls!

Soul Eater is amazing. It has a unique art style that I haven't seen before and it works extremely well. The characters are ostentatious and surprisingly funny! The story is interesting and I can see myself getting hooked very quickly!
