Ok so first of all, Humphrey is ADORABLE-ADORABLE-ADORABLE (lol). Second, I think in one of the books Humphrey should meet another hamster owned by a classmate. I REALLY-REALLY-REALLY want a Syrian hamster like Humphrey. My teacher has a classroom pet, he's a Guinea pig named Charlie. I love how the story is from Humphrey's point of view. I love this book!

mind you, my almost 11 year old daughter LOVES to read, but is kinds picky about the books she reads. The Humphrey series is one of her short story favorites. In between reading 300 page novels, she will pick up these books and read them just for fun, light-hearted down time.

These books are my son’s favorite to read at night. One chapter at a time. The stories can relate to school aged children in many ways and also help them see how to solve issues.

Good book

My 9 year old daughter picked out a Humphrey book during one trip to the bookstore. She loved it so much that I decided to buy her some of the other titles. I try to get her series books, so if she shows interest in it, then can I buy other titles worry free. Anything to encourage reading more. She's read these books over and over!

We liked the way that Humphrey talks. He's so funny! He explains all about meeting new people trying new things and even worrying about what might happen to him.

Ok so first of all, Humphrey is ADORABLE-ADORABLE-ADORABLE (lol). Second, I think in one of the books Humphrey should meet another hamster owned by a classmate. I REALLY-REALLY-REALLY want a Syrian hamster like Humphrey. My teacher has a classroom pet, he's a Guinea pig named Charlie. I love how the story is from Humphrey's point of view. It would be cute if Humphrey "bathed" himself like other hamsters. I have a roborovski dwarf hamster named Jingle. PS I am not K. Beth M... I am just using her account. My son is not a lover of books, but the Humphrey series has really captured his interest. These books are engaging and funny and perfect for kids in and around 2-5th grades.

I really liked this book because I thought it explained the second class that Humphrey was in. At first Humphrey is in a group of children but since summer came he had to get a new group of children. This book explains the new group. You should read this before you read Mysteries According to Humphrey, Winter According to Humphrey, or Secrets According to Humphrey (books 8-10).

My eight year old LOVES Humphrey. When we went on a trip, I bought my son a couple of the Humphrey books for him to have on his Kindle to give him something to do on the plane. He devoured them. Anything to get my son to continue to enjoy reading. The only problem is, now my son wants to get a pet hamster.

Why did I choose this rating? Well, because I really like reading this series, of course! As soon as I read the first page of Summer acording to Humphrey, I thought, "Ohhhhh, this is going to be the perfect book series for me!" And now here I am, writing a review. A word of warning to anyone buying books from the Humphrey series!! I have bought many of the Humphrey series as my children love them but I was both angry and disappointed when, after having purchased 'School according to Humphrey' I then purchased the 'School days according to Humphrey' which was recommended at the bottom of the first books page, only to discover that despite having different titles, publishers and front covers this is in fact exactly the same book verbatim!!!

I bought this for my 8 year old grandson who enjoys all the Humphrey books. He listens to it every night before he goes to sleep and is often heard chuckling at the stories. I think it certainly helps encourage boys in particular to read.
