Poorly written, with no real editing or proof-reading

As someone who has read numerous volumes on both computer programming languages as well as other non-fiction writings, this book struck me at how un-professional it was written. Even worse, either there was no editing pass or at best, the author used digital spell-checking. The number of misspellings, inaccurate words, inaccurate commands/operands (not proof-read), and the whimsical first person and second person references made it impossible to hold my attention. If you're going to spend money to purchase a programming book, get one that is well written.

A confusing "word soup"! DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!

I am an experienced engineer who started programming in basic in the 1990's. Not a genius, but certainly not an idiot. Mr. Parks understanding of Python may be great but his ability to provide clear information is sadly lacking. I expect a book on programming to be written in an orderly fashion, with first concepts first, and accurate instructions on how to get from A to B. This quality is not present in this sad little volume. A list of issues will read like a criminal court indictment. 1. inaccurate word selection 2. lost verb tenses 3. missing words 4. missing punctuation 5. miss-spellings within command lines making them inoperable 6. Missed instructions. He moves from interactive to script operation without a single hint that is what happened. As someone completely new to python this is unforgiveable! 7. The list could go on forever! Other reviewers have the same complaints. Let me add that the book is also poorly constructed; pages started falling out minutes after first opennig it.

Learning coding

I got this book for my grandson , who is in college and a computer geek. He says it's a great book to learn from .He said he especially liked the part about the operators of python language .He also liked exception handling, which helps debug your program . He says it's a book he will keep handy .

Collection of books to start with

The Collection has easy projects to cement what I learned through reading. My brother is considering going back to school for software programming and I thought this collection would be a great introduction. I figured if I can do it he won't have a problem with it. I recommend anyone considering any type of computer programming read these books. If only to get a glimpse of what you'll be learning.

Thorough guide to Python

This is really a very comprehensive guide to Python. I found the author to be easy to understand and follow. I am a complete newbie when it comes to programming, so I appreciated him starting at the very beginning (getting Python installed and open) and worked slowly towards application work. I did take off one star because I would have liked more diagrams, pictures, screengrabs, etc. I think that would have aided in the reader following along closely.

It’s easier than I thought!

I’m a beginner, and this book was the first thing I’d ever read on the topic. I found Python interesting, but this was my very first time trying to understand it and I’m glad I chose this book in particular! It’s flawlessly written and redacted.

Super useful

Python Programming is a very useful type of programming these days. I consider this book a MUST TO HAVE for everyone who wants to learn about Python Programming. Perfect for all those beginners looking for Mastering Python. I have been a programmer for a long time and have been able to learn several things that made me improve my skills.

Beyond basic language, it doesn't tell you how to use the add on features

I was hoping this would be helpful in being able to plot/graph/present the results of my simulations, but it only told about these add-ons, not actually how to use them and do anything with them. More like a marketing advertisement than a users manual. The first book on basic programming is okay.

A little hard to follow

The way the book is written it makes it a bit hard to read and understand. There is a lot of information in the books, but I feel like the book bounces around and the way the book is structured makes its hard to follow.

Informative.

This book guided me step by step to understand and apply various python concepts. The way it explains news concepts and the examples it gives are actually really good for both experienced and new programmers.
