This book focuses on the basics of using Python, data analysis, machine learning, and more. I'm just starting to dig into Python and this book was a big help.

This book is terribly written and edited so poorly that it is often incomprehensible.

I found this a difficult read with poor grammar and horrendous readability along with blatant errors which are going to confuse to anyone new. For example the text says "In Python there are four numerical values supported:" and then lists Int Float and Complex I don't know about you but I see three numerical *types* there, not four. I *believe* the author is trying to say there are four numerical *types* as there are clearly many more than four numerical *values*, e.g: 0, 1, 2, 3.2, 4.75 ... There are 5 numerical values right there. Python only supports four? And if the author meant numerical types, he only listed three. As far as I understand reality three != four. I encountered either readabilty factual errors on nearly every page if not in every paragraph. As far as readability, take the following quote discussing the naming of variables in chapter 3: "However, the technique of naming variables remains illegible as different programmers decide on how they are going to create their kind of names." Can any of you make sense of that? In some ways it reads like something that was translated from a different language into English without any translation or editorial review. No competent editor would let something like that go to press, and this was just one of the many such issues in the first three chapters.

I don't know where those people who gave this book a high rating came from. I started reading this book after signing up for Kindle Unlimited, and boy, this book is so poorly written. I noticed this book has only 140+ pages, even though it claims to teach Python for beginners. It is rare to see a book that teaches a programming language with such few pages, and I can now see why. It is totally unthorough and seemingly unedited! Chapter 1 is entitled "Python Installation". All it does is provide the link to python.org, and that's it! Then it talks about environment variables without even describing how to assign values in those variables (i.e., should we do it through the Windows Environment variables dialog box, or are these variables in some file that needs to be assigned values, etc.) Nothing! My patience grew thin when I read this sentence in Chapter 3 under the "Variables vs. Literals" section, and I quote: "The difference between variables and literals arises where both deal with unprocessed data but variables store the while laterals feed the data to both constants and variables." What kind of English is this??? I'm sorry to say that if a book ticks me off this bad so early on, I lose faith in its ability to partake with me much else. This is junk, and no wonder it is free in the Kindle Unlimited repertoire; this also reflects poorly on Kindle Unlimited; I hope I will get to see better quality selections as I explore other subscription choices.
