A very different plant based cookbook. Vegan alternatives to my favorites.
I saw this book at a local flower conservatory. I didn't have time to really look at it. I figured I would give it a try. There were a couple recipes that caught my attention- lasagna, curries, eggplant parm. Upon receiving it from Amazon, I realized the author is from Wales. Not all of the ingredients match up in America. The book does give the American equivalent like courgette is a zucchini. An aubergine is an eggplant. What I like about it is that there are alternatives to foods I can no longer enjoy because of dairy (lactose intolerant). I am curious about the lasagna and eggplant parm. Two things I haven't had in years. There are pasta dishes that have wholesome ingredients that I can make with ease. I have tried 2 recipes out of this book. Both I have been extremely happy with. The barbecue sauce for the vegan meatloaf is delicious. The vegan meatloaf is delicious. I have also tried the sauce that comes with the eggplant. It is easy to make and very tasty. In both cases, I didn't have to play with the recipe. Just a little more salt and it was perfect. The family was happy with it. There are what feels like many recipes that contain tofu. This was at first a turn off. I eat tofu but it isn't my go to. I have also encountered ingredients that aren't so accessible here or I don't have on hand. The recipes are easily improvised. No chickpea flour? Use a flour that is on hand. In my case I used regular white flour. Coconut sugar? I substituted regular sugar with awesome results. There is an expensive ingredient to make scrambled eggs. I was disappointed to see a can of it cost $11. it was discouraging until I tried a few recipes. I was sold on the book. 5 stars: This is the type of plant based cooking I would find in one of those boxes delivered to the door. The recipes are excellent. Easy enough to make. Easily substituted. When I saw all of the tofu recipes I questioned if this was the book for me. After trying a few recipes, I am sold and definitely keeping this book. I can't wait to try more recipes.
creative vegan chef you will not get bored
Wow, this author had all my favorite foods from all around the world, and he turned them into vegan dishes! What’s a creative chef. He has so much that I can learn! Thank you
Vegan Recipes Galore!

Vegan Curries and Awesome Bakes
I recently bought an Indian Spice Box and wanted to make some vegan curries. I spent a lot of time reviewing Indian Cuisine Cookbooks but didn’t find one that was 100% vegan and authentic. What a surprise when I bought this (my third in the series) to find an entire chapter on plant-based curries! I’ve made several of the tofu recipes as well and am looking forward to exploring more of these creative plant-based recipes. There are recipes which are plant-based nods to old carnivore comfort foods like Toad in the Hole and Meatloaf and most of the recipes require the investment of a little time if not talent. But if you’re looking for some interesting departures from the standard “bowls” type fare we vegans tend to eat, this is a creative and well-designed cookbook. Lots of photos, too. Highly recommend.

Passionate, Exciting Recipes
I have had this Kindle book for a couple of weeks now and am so excited to make more of the recipes because the one's I've made so far have all been winners. The first photo is of Dad's Potato Chili Bake which is a hearty dish perfect for big families as well as pot lucks (if we ever get to do those again...), visually stunning, easy to put together, and delicious. One caveat: The British lingo doesn't always translate over to U.S. lingo; for instance "tomato puree" is what the U.S. calls "tomato paste". Also, Gaz doesn't always give us instructions to the "t" so a beginning cook (or even an experienced one like me) might not know, for instance, that we need to strain out the onions and bay leaf from the infused béchamel sauce in his amazing Lasagna. I happened to know to do this since I watched the You Tube tutorial, and it is common sense, since that is what infused implies, but specific instructions are always best. Now back to this Lasagna. Yes it is the best. I've tried a ton of recipes and this one checks all the boxes for me, mostly due to that béchamel. Maybe it was using the oat milk that did it but this lasagna is just as good the next or third day as it is the first day, which I haven't found to be true with other recipes where the sauce just doesn't hold up. But this béchamel is very sturdy and luxurious. In the attached photo , it looks like a layer of cheese but I did not use any vegan cheese in the sauce. The recipe called for baking at 350 for 45 minutes but I baked it at 375 for 45 minutes. I also made the BBQ "Meat" Loaf. Be warned about the cumin in the BBQ sauce. I knew that 1 tablespoon was too much and I used 1 tsp instead and even that was a bit much for my taste. Next time I will substitute chili powder. All in all, this is a beautiful book full of passion and inspiration. Thank you, Gaz, for this wonderful cookbook.

A must-have, even for non-vegans
Yes, the pictures (for every recipe!) are beautiful. I didn't expect anything else from Gaz, as I regularly watch his YouTube videos, which are shot beautifully too. So what was I surprised by? The labeling. Knowing which recipes are great for batch-cooking and meal-prep is awesome. I'm a grad student and between teaching, research, writing, and trying to keep up meeting friends, I love to meal-prep on the weekend. While I enjoy cooking, I like having a lunch I can pack and I don't always have time at night to cook. And even if I feel like it, I am sure his 15-minute meals will come in handy. For anyone that is busy, this is a good cookbook. It is not packed full of recipes that take at least an hour to get on the table. Another thing I loved when I noticed it: The boldly printed explanations to some ingredients people might not know, especially when they aren't vegan, like liquid smoke or Kala Namak. Sometimes he also printed little tips in bold, which I am sure I will appreciate too. I did not cook every single recipe in the book - it just came out, and it will probably be a while until I have - but the ones I have tried have been delicious. It was hard to decide what to even cook and I can't wait to work my way through the recipes. And for any other Curry lover out there: There is a whole chapter for us! From reading, the entire book is delicious. Long story short, best self-isolation buy. And I can't wait to buy a physical copy once I am done moving. And while I am a vegan, I do think this book is appropriate for non-vegans that want a little bit more versatility in their plant-based dishes. Or that need a little bit of convincing that vegan food is not boring. I will personally buy this book for my parents and send it to them. A little friendly nudge to make the switch.
Some of the best WFPB/Vegan food I've ever prepared
I've prepared 7 of the recipes in Plants-Only Kitchen and they have all been outstanding, full of flavor and a dining quality experience. I just made the "Seared Watermelon 'Tuna' Salad" last night it was truly amazing, everyone could not believe the dish was prepared with watermelon, it had the texture of Tuna and the sauce was fantastic. The "Jerk Jackfruit with Rice & Peas" was another outstanding dish. I've watched Gaz on YouTube for about 6 months now, so I knew the style of his cooking. I know he markets this book as more accessible than his previous books, which I don't own, and I agree from an ingredient viewpoint you should be able to find what you need but all of the recipes I've prepared take a fair amount of prep time. It always looks quick in YouTube time when you have the prep all done but be prepared to have some dirty dishes and to spend some time in the kitchen - but the results are so worth it. Some of the Internet WFPB/Vegan recipes you find can end up wasting a lot of time and money with mediocre results. Spending a bit on recipes that are from a trained chef and tests can be worth the extra money for the book. Highly recommend this book for anyone, even non WFPB or Vegan's as the results are great and restaurant quality. But as a Vegan this is a great addition to my skills in preparing plants only food. Highly recommend.
Aesthetically pleasing!
Background: I recently started following Gaz on YouTube maybe two weeks ago. I had previously gone vegan for a couple of months due to a film I can’t name at the moment. It was like a 21 day vegan challenge. One year I did the 21 days and at that time due to poor planning I was starving myself and depleting myself of b12. The following year I became vegan again for 3-6 months and with planning I had nice meals, no hunger, and a vegan b12 supplement. I would stop my diet due to my love for bacon and occasional craving of sweets. I lived in the college dorms and couldn’t sustain my diet on my own. I’ve always loved veggies and unless I’m in the kitchen cooling them up, I don’t get enough in my diet. I found Gaz through Pickuplimes collab! I never knew vegan you tubers like the both of them existed! Since then I’ve been getting inspired from their recipes ! Review: The book is beautifully made and I can tell Gaz put a lot of love into making the book through the use of colors and plating and beautiful photographs. It’s both well organized and aesthetically pleasing! I look forward to making more of his recipes ! The only possible con is the binding. I fear that the book may come apart with wear and tear but I’ll update in a month or so! If you love international food, the plate method, or a vegan diet this book is for you! Thanks Gaz! :)
Beautifully Illustrated and Delicious Recipes
Gaz Oakley is my favorite vegan chef. His meticulous attention to detail and easy to find ingredients make for spectacular tasting and easy to execute recipes. Everything I have ever made from Gaz's recipes has been a fantastic gastronomic experience. His father's potato chili, cheats corn chowder in a bread bowl and mango/plantain salad are just a few of my go-to recipes for quick, satisfying meals. I look forward to making more of the recipes in this book and highly recommend to anyone looking for a fresh and exciting take on food.
Plants-Only Kitchen
Group gift for vegan colleague. He loved it.
Superb quality!!
I follow Gaz on YouTube and everything he cooks I want to try seriously!! So when I heard he had a new book Plant's Only Kitchen with simple, delicious healthy recipes, I knew I had to purchase. For starters the quality of the book is superb!! My brother saw the book and was skimming trough pages and asked was this book pricey because it's looks like it was. When I told him the price he was shocked! I am thrilled with book and love the less than 15 min breakfast recipes. It contains a variety of recipes from curries, stews, soups and even delicious desserts all vegan recipes!! Also appreciate the icons next to each recipe so you know which recipes are Batch Cooking, Meal Prep, Gluten free, 15 min or One Pot Meal. The only thing I wish was different is the size of font I wear eyeglasses so bigger font would have been highly appreciated. Other than that I'm extremely happy with the book and will try to replicate as many recipes as I can. Highly recommend you purchase believe me you won't regret it. I'm new to vegan eating but Gaz book makes it look simple, delicious and very colorful recipes packed with nutrients and flavors!
Want Quick Flavorful Delicious Meals? Then Buy This!
Let me first begin by saying I have purchased ALL of Gaz's cookbooks and although they are all good, I reach for this one every time! Why? Well, because the recipes are simple, the ingredients are easily sourced at my local grocery store here in California, I can quickly assemble an awesome dish and cook like a boss using this book! So far, I have prepared the Black Bean Stew recipe, the Hearty Welsh Cawl (soup) and the Quick Vegetable Couscous recipe multiple times and I would be proud to serve them to anyone! I love to explore this book and embark upon new cooking adventures. Plants Only Kitchen is for everyone, no matter what your food persuasion is, meat eaters and plant based individuals alike will love this book as much as I do! If I met Gaz and all of the people who contributed to this book, I would say "you outdid yourselves and the collection photos contained with this book are as bold as they are striking. Well done!"
Tasty & Delicious
Tried a few recipes and all have been delicious. The directions are easy to follow
Excellent Cookbook
This is the first plant-based cookbook I've purchased, but it's far better than the few other vegetable-centric cookbooks in my collection (Six Seasons and Ruffage). Gaz has a great ability to present creative, tasty, and fairly easy recipes that don't call for absurdly specific ingredients or preparations. A few in this book are more advanced, the kinds you would make to show off to family and friends, but this cookbook is built around daily recipes with variety in mind. This cookbook is formed well around icons showing recipes that are gluten-free, heavy on protein, or great for weekly meal preps. These icons, plus the index, make it mighty easy to find specific recipes based on what you're looking to cook. I'd highly recommend Plants-Only Kitchen to everyone. Vegans will definitely enjoy this, of course, but even omnis/vegetarians/folks who are curious about switching to plant-based foods will be impressed with just how easy it is to avoid animal products.
Delicious!
Vegan? Vegetarian? Omnivore? No matter what diet lifestyle you lead, this is a great recipe book. I'm sensitive to dairy & gluten. I try to follow the Whole30/Paleo, not strictly though. I still use regular recipe books from different companies or famous chefs & then I convert them into dairy free or gluten free. Gaz's books are full all kinds of great recipes. I loved the corn chowder recipe & so did my parents!
Very interesting plant based meals excited to try all the recipes
We plan to use it for plant based inspiration and finding new ways to explore using vegetables. We have ton of cooking experience and can't wait to learn more ways to use plants!
gifted cook
It was a gift for a super fan of Gaz, the author.
EASY and QUICK Vegan Recipes Author is very engaging
If you're familiar with the author's popular youtube channel, you'll know he's a trained chef who decided to go vegan several years back, and delights in creating fabulous plant-based meals, BUT they usually tend to be (for me anyway) a bit too time consuming and labor intensive.....he says this is why he created this book. Have made several so far, and all were easy, and delicious, without having to search high and low for exotic ingredients or esoteric kitchen equipment. I recommend both his youtube channel and all of his books....believe this is his third---he even did one for Christmas--but this one is my fave for its fast and easy creations.
Artistic, Tasty and user friendly
A Little Disappointed
I purchased this product because I watched a video of him and he promoted the recipe in his book. When I got the book the recipe wasn't in the book. The other recipes are great. I expected to receive what I paid for and I didn't get that.
I love how Gaz looks into the camera on youtube videos, so very sexy...cracks me up.
So, Gaz Oakley, Aventgaurd, has 3 cookbooks out, and lots of Youtube videos. From the Youtube videos, he makes the recipe's easy to find. I've been excited to receive/buy all three of his cookbooks. His latest cookbook has photo's for every recipe. I know that is really important when you are learning new recipes. I have not made any of the food from this last book. What I can say is that some of the recipes are really innovative; such as cooking watermelon to the point of giving it a meat fishy flavor. I so want to try that one. Plants only kitchen is a book I would buy for friends, or should it get ruined while I messily cook, I would replace it.
One-Pot Tomato Pasta Dish Is more like Black Pepper Pasta Dish
Looking to be a part-time vegan and tried the one-pot tomato pasta dish because it looked pretty easy to cook. This is the first recipe we tried since buying the book about a week or so ago. If you follow the recipe on page 76 to the tee, you are told to add 2 tsp of black pepper to the pot. My wife noticed that and was reluctant to do so but went against her better judgement on the assumption the recipe was QA'd prior to print. In hindsight, I'm guessing the recipe called for 1/2 tsp of black pepper and the publisher omitted the "1/". If you take a leap of faith and actually add 2 tsp of black pepper like we did, you will be rewarded with that being the only thing you can taste. My wife wanted to throw the dish out, but I insisted on eating it after trying to add a lot more white wine and eating it with rice to dilute the over powering taste of black pepper. UPDATE: The extra wine and white rice could not compensate for the black pepper. We had to throw the whole dish out. UPDATE 2: My wife tried the recipe on page 132 (My Dad's Potato Chilli Bake) and had the better sense of reducing the amount of black pepper and salt to avoid another fiasco. Long story short, had she not reduced the salt and pepper, the dish would have also been thrown out. At this point, we don't think it's worth keeping the book.
Beautiful Book Packed with Tasty Vegan Dishes
In the first week since we purchased Plants Only Kitchen, we've already prepared four recipes. Every one of them was excellent. I'm already hooked on Gaz's Chickpea Curry with Turmeric Rice. My wife finds some of the spices in traditional Indian cooking difficult for her tastes. We think it's the sweeter spices. But she loved this recipe, which omits spices like cinnamon and cloves. Can't wait to make it again. We've also enjoyed Gaz's French Onion Soup, Thai Green Curry, and his Schintzel. Next up, Easy Mushroom Wellington. This has already become one of our favorite vegan cookbooks, right alongside the creative books by Terry Romero and Isa Chandra Moskowitz.
You will never miss animal products again!
My 6 year old daughter picked out this book to use with her father for their weekly dinner-prep night. It is beautiful, delicious, Vegan, and easy enough for them to prepare most of the recipes (my husband is not a chef.) So far, we have only had the Eggplant Parm and the Waffles, but they, alone, are worth the price of the book. I really look forward to each of their Weekly Dinners, from now on. Good work, Gaz! I can't recommend this book more highly.
Delicious recipes
I’ve only made two of the recipes from this book and I’m so impressed. The is so flavoursome and it has no comparison to any other vegan food I’ve had. Of course I shouldn’t had expected less from an actual chef! Although you might not find some ingredients of the the ingredients in your typical grocery store, most of them are pretty much a staple in any household, which is appreciated. Some recipes take longer but there are other that can be made fairly quickly. I’m already looking into buying his other books, specially the Christmas one. BTW, his YouTube videos are pretty helpful too.
A Weeknight Friendly Vegan Guide
I loved Gaz’s first book but I’ll admit the recipes in that book were a bit intense for everyday cooking. This book on the other hand is more weeknight appropriate and I think I’ll get a lot more mileage out of it. There’s a great key of icons to help you scan recipes for quick or one pot meals. There are also fewer ingredients per recipe overall and a heavier reliance on everyday items vs. niche ingredients. All good things, and I’m hoping it helps me add more vegan meals to my weekly rotation. And as expected the pictures are gorgeous so it’s also nice to flip through.
Love this cookbook so much!
I really love this cookbook. I’ve made multiple things & everything has been delicious. I actually just ordered his other 2 cookbooks since I love this one so much. I like that he strikes the balance between time and taste. This isn’t a vegan cookbook that avoids all processed foods such as vegan cheese or vegan condiments, however, I appreciate that! I don’t always have time to make every little thing from scratch and yet I still want food that tastes good that isn’t constantly salads or Buddha bowls. Can’t wait to get his two other cookbooks in the mail!
Super simple recipes? Not so much
Just got this book and I’m a bit intimidated with the ingredients already. Lemongrass stem, green bird’s eye chillies, Kaffir lime leaves, dried curry leaves, cardamon pods, mustard seeds, ground mace….definitely not what I would call a quick trip to store for a handful of recipes. Not even sure our local stores have some of these things in Nebraska. This book is probably better suited for someone passionate about cooking with a lot more time on their hands. Not for working mom of two who needs what I would truly call “simple” recipes.
Simple and Yummy
Read through on my Kindle App. Easy to manipulate the content. Recipes written well. Good pictures, though we would have liked to see more. :-) Because we follow Gaz on YouTube, could hear his voice coaching through while reading. We have all of Gaz’s books and follow on Instagram. Thankful for his contribution to cooking. april
Love it
This cookbook is great because it tells you at the top of each recipe the difficulty level and the time it will take to make. This makes it so easy to plan! So far every recipe tried has been fantastic as well. Very happy.
The most beautiful cookbook i've ever own.
Recently My boyfriend and I have been looking into eating plant base. I came across this cook book through my search. Most if not all recipes are accompanied by an aesthetically appealing picture; this is a big plus for me as I like to know what i'm trying to make. The selection of recipes in this book is also very diverse and don't look too complicated to make. I am looking forward to trying out some of these recipes!
Love most of the recipes.
Very hard to find a lot of these ingredients. Some of them I don’t even know what they are. I still try to cook at least one meal a week from this book. I love his YouTube videos.
Unbelievable quality of a book from Gaz
I am not even vegan and I love this book. Gives so much easy to make but chef-like recipes for me to integrate more plant based proteins in my weekly mealprep. I love all of his curries, I cannot recommend this book enough. Great photography, amazing thick paper, it's just shows how much effort he put in the production of this book.
Incredibly delicious plant based recipes!
As an omnivore who is making a switch to healthier plant based eating at home, I can say, this book makes it an effortless transition. They may not be the healthiest choicest in the entire world or anything, but they are all so incredibly tasty so far. I can't wait to try them all. This cookbook will not disappoint! Easy to make, and so damn good! I couldn't be happier!
I'm not Objective.
I'm not objective.. I love Gaz. I love his books, I love his YouTube channel, I love his quest for flavor! Cook one recipe and decide for yourself!
The Vegan Bible
I have been a huge fan of Gaz Oakley ever since I came across his YouTube channel. Once you watch one of his videos, you immediately want to become one of his mates. Gaz was able to capture that same energy in this book. His book is full of great recipes, which are easy to follow and taste amazing. EVERY VEGAN NEEDS THIS BOOK!!!
Look No More! This is the BEST Vegan Cookbook in the Market!
I have several vegan cookbooks and this one is by far the BEST! Gaz Oakley is a top-notch chef! The recipes are easy to follow! I have tried several of the recipes in this book and have been very pleased with the meals. I also follow Gaz Oakley on YouTube! He is simply a fantastic chef!
Disappointed that it doesn't have enough regular home cooked recipes
This is a good cookbook for people who want to try gourmet vegan food. I just wanted an ordinary chocolate cake recipe.
Good vegan book
Man the vegan cookbooks are insane it’s like a thousand ingredients 🤣 by time I get done cooking I’m not even hungry
Delicious and simple vegan meals
I am a long time follower of Gaz on YouTube and I always am so happy with his recipes. His cookbook is no different. Every recipe I have tried so far has been incredible. The recipes are so simple that I am comfortable planning them for a weeknight dinner. Not to mention, the book is very aesthetically pleasing. This cookbook (and Gaz in general) will impress vegans and non-vegans alike.
Legit!
Best vegan cookbook ever. Love Gaz Oakley…we were watching his videos when he had hundreds of subscribers. Very tasty items and the book is high quality. #respect!

AMAZING COOKBOOK
Wow, what an amazing cookbook! I purchased this pre-order cookbook as a mother's day gift to myself. The recipes are easy to follow and delicious. I made several recipes already. Oh, did I mention the price? It was more than 50% discounted from my original purchase price, so it was so worth the wait! Get this cookbook if you want some delicious flavor-packed meals!
I love this book and the recipe are simple and delicious
I have been on this vegan journey since May 2020, because my daughter and husband have been vegetarian/vegan for a few years, so I decided to start. This cookbook makes it easy. Most of the ingredients I can find at my local supermarket and anything special, I get it on Amazon. Love this book.
Captures the art of vegan cooking
I love this cook book! It is a piece of art! He photos and design of the book itself is breathtaking and the recipes are so inspiring! Gaz adds his own commentary and tone to the recipes that help show how laid back and enjoyable vegan cooking should be! Definitely a new go-to for my kitchen!
Gaz’s best cookbook yet!!!
Gaz’s best cookbook yet! Packed with awesome easy to follow recipes and amazing photography! We can’t wait to try some of the dishes. This would be a great gift to seasoned Vegans and even those who are new to the game or a cook who just wants to have some amazing options to try. Nice work Gaz and team!
Terrific Variety
Just started going vegan 6 months ago. Was really getting tired of all the curried bowls of boredom we kept making. I’ve made 5 or 6 recipes from this book. Great variety of flavors. Love the combinations. Have a few more earmarked. First cookbook I’ve bought is many years. Highly recommend.
Great book with amazing recipes!
This is an amazing chef and I was inspired to get this book having his first one already. I ordered this one “Plants Only Kitchen” and “Vegan Christmas” together. The plants one came damaged due to no protection around the books.
Really well done images
This book is bad a$$! They Went above and beyond most cookbooks with the images. It looks more like a well done Instagram page than a traditional cookbook. Great style. Love it and would recommend to anyone
Love this book and his other cookbooks!
We love Gaz’s cooking. So talented - we make his recipes all the time. I have all his books. My non vegan loving brother requests his burgers constantly. My 80 year old mum went vegan too.

I've only tried a few recipes so far, but my family has loved everyone that I tried. If you're looking for various methods of vegan cooking, that even non-vegans can be happy with, then I would suggest this book.
Great recipes
I'm not 100% vegan and I love these recipes. Most of them are easy or not too difficult to make. I did have to buy a few items to make some of the recipes but that was not a problem - well worth it.
Font too small and blends too much on page
First have to say Love Gaz. Love his recipes and love his passion. He's just amazing. However, ordered new book and had to return it. It had amazing photography and those food pics were beautiful. However, did not like the font on the recipes pages. Too small and the words blended too much with the pages. He also added the effect of a used cookbook with splats of stains just like you have from your fav frequently used cookboook. But that took away from the pages. Right away it was a look I didnt like. I purchased online so didnt know. If i was in a book store. I'd look at pics n put back. I dont even wear glasses so i found it hard to read. AND kept thinking if i was cooking that would be terrible. I would need a magnifier. Or write it out just to follow along. But seriuosly made me sad that no one questioned the font or that the words blended. Maybe next one Gaz. Ill still watch you create on YouTube etc.
Delicious recipes with great variety
So far all of the recipes I have tried are superb and easy to follow. Most require simple ingredients and methods but the flavor does not disappoint. This is my first book by Gaz but have been watching his YouTube channel for a couple of years now.
Delightful!
Such a beautifully crafted cookbook. It is evident a lot of care and consideration went into it. Each recipe has a wonderful complimentary photo of the completed dish. Instructions are clear and to the point. Gaz Oakley is truly a unique and gifted chef; looking forward to his next cookbook!
Delicious flavors!
Ok here's the deal...every recipe I've made so far has been delicious. The black bean stew had amazing flavor, as did the ramen. The broth reminded me of pho. Can't wait to make more recipes!!
Love the book, hate the cover
Love the book and Gaz's YouTube videos. Truly inspiring and achievable gourmet vegan. The cover is supposed to have the look of well used reference with dirt splatters - It just looks dirty all the time. Such a tiny nit which does not reduce my joy of the photos and recipes.
Recipes don't list their nutrient breakdown
The recipes do not have nutritional breakdowns so I am going to donate this right back to my local Goodwill store.
Best vegan cookbook yet
I really like Gaz's books. This one does not disappoint! I love how it's organized, and appreciate the difficulty rating for each recipe. So many yummy looking options, and it's not just the same stuff you see in every other cookbook. I will have a blast cooking through this book!
Some good recipes and fun ideas but not for me
Some great recipes and the book itself is a nice quality but I wish there were more healthy recipes. Some of them are like “make your own vegan junk food” which I don’t personally care for. Store bought vegan junk food usually tastes better anyway if you’re looking for that.
I am in LOVE
So I have ordered other cook books in the past and they have NOTHING on this one! The recipes look more complex which is kinda what I was looking for. The photography is amazing and I am looking so forward to start cooking!
Love it!!!!
I just recently went back to being vegan and was scouring YouTube for vegan recipes and came across Gaz’s channel. Love the channel and book!! The book presents a variety of recipes, flavors, nothing boring! Can’t wait to cook!!
Bummer
The layout is beautiful. Though this book says 'simple' recipes, (which is why I bought it) and there are still ingredients I can't get at my local large grocery store. Another cook book that sits on the shelf😐
Love
So happy with this purchase! I had pre-ordered it. He has done a few of the recipes on YouTube and wow I couldn't wait to be able to try them out myself! Recommend it to my sister and she can't wait to get her copy.
High quality recipes, and book construction!
The recipes are awesome, they are easy to follow and definitely helped improve my cooking technique. The quality of the book is top-notch. Construction is great and there are plenty of photos of the recipes! Great job Gaz!
The average vegan cookbook
Lots of salads and soups and cassarole type dishes. I wished there would be more seitan like dishes. Like his sticky barbecue ribs.
Great recipes
Great recipes, family-friendly cookbook. I have made the corn, lasagna, and mango cake so far. The lasagna recipe is worth buying the cookbook for. It was flavorful and filling. It even pleased our meat-eating son.
Beautiful cookbook for special occasions
This is a beautiful cookbook with flavorful looking recipes, but they are definitely recipes for an occasion. I just don't see myself making any of these recipes casually on a week night which is kind of what I was looking for. These recipes definitely aren't dorm friendly lol *I do feel these recipes are generally healthy and for the most part you can just avoid the oil
Amazing book!
This book is amazing. So many good ideas and the pictures in every single recipe help A LOT. Gaz is incredibly creative and I was able to step up my vegan game considerably. Highly recommended.
Easy instructions
Great book and easy to follow instructions, to help me become ...more vegan.
Wonderful
Gaz is an artist in the kitchen and this book is great if you are not a chef and have no desire to be. Most the recipes are easy and require simple directions. I love it!!
Plant based cookbook
Great cookbook - I found some recipe gems. Some of the ingredients are not readily available.
How simple to make the product.
How simple to make the items
Fantastic Recipe Book!
I really appreciate the time and effort that went into this book. I love the aesthetic images. As a visual person, I really appreciate the fact that very recipe has a picture to it.
Great Book
I am excited to use the recipes from this book. The book came very quickly. Thank you
He and his dad are ligament vegan chiefs
I follow this chief on YouTube. His curry chickpea recipe is the first thing I prepared as a vegan.
Best ever Gaz cookbook!
I’m a big fan...and Gaz has surpassed himself with this new book. I’ve been gifting it to friend who are starting their plant based journey. Love love love everything I’ve made.
Just do it
Have already tried a few of the recipes and avid watcher of his YouTube content. Foods amazing
So delish and so fun
I've cooked 3 dishes from this book already! Found Gaz on YouTube and followed him here. His dishes are fun, diverse, young, approachable, and easy to make.
Delicious!!!!
We’ve made many recipes from this book. They are easy to follow and absolutely delicious!!!! Must have in your kitchen! Highly recommend.
Amazing!
The book is absolutely stunning, every recipe is accompanied by a photo. The dishes look delicious and the recipes are quick and simple. I highly recommend this cookbook to beginners or busy people.
Simple Recipes
Beautiful book and the recipes seem pretty easy to follow if you’ve been cooking vegan food for a while. Nothing looks too complicated. Can’t wait to try these recipes out !
Yummy!
Love gaz! His youtube is great and after seeing him there I immediately bought his book! Such interesting recipes and I want to try them all!
nice recipe book presentation
Nice hardcover presentation, images to correspond with the recipes. Worth the buy. I love Gaz youtube cooking channel. Can't wait to try the recipes. Really nice cookbook
Exciting food
Gaz was the first vegan chefs that I followed on YouTube. He made cooking vegan food exciting and doable. This cookbook has some amazing recipes!!!
Love it!
Great, creative, varied plant-based recipes! I'm not a vegan but try to eat less meat and dairy, so I love these recipes.
Not really practical
The book is beautiful and the recipes look well thought out, but they take a long time to make. Not really for busy people. Also, he uses ingredients that are hard to find or not available in many states.
First Vegan Cookbook
I'm super excited to try all of these recipes. They look so delicious and have simple ingredients and instructions to follow. This is a great cookbook!

Dab
Great product
Damaged.
My book was damaged when I received it.
Skip this cookbook
A vegan but not healthy cookbook, certainly not suited for an American audience, recipes are heavy on ingredients like white flour, Panko, ketchup, vegan margarine, or seem unlikely to succeed like Seared watermelon. Also way too many full page portraits of the author (I lost count at 10) , comes across as arrogant. Some nice ideas but not well guided and poorly edited.
Small print
The print is too small. Not easy to follow directions.
Several ingredients listed are not available in the USA
There are several ingredients used in England and no list of comparable ingredients in the USA.
Not worth it
I was so excited for this book. The recipes were long and complex and colorful but didn’t have any flavor. I gave it my best go but this is a book I wish I had skipped
Unappealing and hard to find ingredients. Not for American audience.
The recipes are just not appealing to me, and I agree, not made for an American audience. Many of the ingredients are unusual and near impossible to find, especially if you don't live near specialty health food stores.
Simply Yummy
amazingly delicious and very easy, a must have for vegans and non vegans alike! only 4 stars because the directions can be slightly vague, but can be worked through!
I have vegan 💯 I know I'm going to love plants only kitchen.
Love all of gaz cook books happy to have them all.
VEGANS NEED THIS
Love this book- has some great recipes!
shares his know-how well!
I just bought this cookbook and I already have Vegan 100. I tried to follow a recipe from another chef on youtube but they someitmes leave out a lot of the tips and secrets. Or it is assumed you have a certain level of expertise already. For me, it's even hard to cook beans without getting them overly mushy! Gas shares all his tips and secrets! And pictures help and to see 'demos' on youtube is wonderful. How can we fail? For me, it may take a couple of tries, but with Gaz's bookbooks, I feel like I can succeed quicker than trying to guess at it on my own.
BEST VEGAN COOKBOOK EVER!
This is such an amazing book! My fiancé got this book for me and I already made three recipes the day I received it. Everything was delicious! I also made the mango upside down cake and I am so bad at baking but the cake turned out amazing. I was so happy!!! I bought a book for my fiancé’s family too!
Best vegan cookbook yet!
Gaz is incredible. His cookbooks are so well done and thought out. The aesthetic is beautiful, the recipes are straightforward, simple, clean, whole ingredients, inexpensive and easy to find. I can literally hear him saying the little intros to each dish as he does on his youtube channel. I hope everyone supports this man and shows him love on his channel!
Lovely Book....Glad to be a Vegan.
I watch Gaz on UTube all the time, so I decided to purchase his last two books. They are beautifully photographed and the food looks delicious. I enjoy watching him cook, as he definitely cooks from his heart and his love to share his great knowledge is so appreciated. The concerns I have however, are many of the ingredients he uses are foreign to me. I have to go online to discover what they are and many times I am unable to find them in my area. I realize Gaz is Welsh and lives in England, but I am an American and I wish he would help those of us who want to use his recipes by giving alternative ingredients or at least explain in certain cases what they are. Other to that, I am excited to make and eat his delicious food.
Genius!!
Gaz is a genius. That’s all you need to know.
Good but not great and over priced
I love cookbooks and I love his YouTube video's but his cookbook falls rather flat. First of all when I get a cookbook that is what I want. I don't want a lot of flashy pictures of Gas eating, cooking or just looking at the camera. The recipes are very good and there is a nice variety. However, for the price I don't think it's worth it. If given the opportunity I wouldn't buy it knowing what I know now. There are other Vegan cookbooks out there that are just as good if not better that are more economical.
Nope
I tired the “famous” lasagna . Trash . Sorry no other way to putt it. This book is not really practical. Too many special ingredients u have to go out and get and will likely never use again . Some recipes are cool but it’s a no for me dawg . I only enjoyed staring at gaz. Other than that, no thanks. I’m sure if he prepared it it would he be nice seeing as he is a pro chef but as an at home cook this is just too much for everyday eating.
Lots of recipes but none intriguing for me
There are tons of recipes here, and the photos are beautiful. Lots of those, too. But none of the recipes interested me. I have quite a few plant based books, and this one just didn’t offer anything new. I returned it.
RUKM? not in a good way.
nice of Gaz to give a sample with some recipes that i could try before buying. i chose the "grab and go bars." this thing won't hold together, not a bar. maybe a granola.i should have known better since it includes a whopping two cups of oatmeal with no liquid and no fat apart from a small amount of agave and nut butter. yes i should know better, but so should Gaz.
Darn
I hate to admit it because I've been watching his youtube videos for awhile now but I definitely do not reccomend this book. Recipes are over complicated and the success rate is low. Also does not suit things I would want to eat anyway.
Fantastic cooking book
Its not really matters if you are vegan or not this cooking book is just perfect , giving so many ideas for amazing dishes.. highly recommended 👌 😊
Best vegan cook book I have
There are so many recipes in this book, and they are all fairly easy to make.
Plants-Only Kitchen: Over 70 Delicious, Super-Simple, Powerful and Protein-Packed Recipes
Beautiful photos and easy recipes
Great cookbook!
There are so many delicious recipes in this book, I’m having a hard time choosing which one to make. I also love all the pictures of the dishes, overall the book is very easy to follow and understand.
Gaz is amazing
I purchased the book after watching his YouTube videos - such a great cookbook and he makes gourmet vegan look EASY!!!
Worth It!
This book is made very well!!! Just flipping through the pages I see I can make. I’m new to the vegan lifestyle, and there recipe I see I can already make.
LOVE IT!!
Amazing cookbook!!! All the recipes in here are so delicious!!!
Unusual and delicious!
I’ve prepared a few of the recipes so far and felt the pictures provided did not exactly represent the recipe presented. So if you’re expecting it to turn out exactly as shown it will not. Having said that I found the recipes to be unusually delicious!
Good and delicious recipes, love it
Good and delicious recipes, love it
Scrumptiously delicious
I followed chef Oakley for a short duration on YouTube & loved all his meal preps & their presentations that I knew I wanted his cook book. Every recipe is simple to follow with everyday ingredients.
Good cooking
These recipes are pretty easy to follow and the main reason I like them is that they are tasty!
Great book
i’ve made a few of these meals and bit only are they delicious but they use little to no processed foods in the process. best vegan cookbook i’ve purchase so far
Very flavorful recipes! Not hard to find ingedoants.
Gaz is an incredible chef. All of his recipes are very tasty. As he says "Flavorsome"! I agree!!! If you think vegan is boring.....well try his flavor filled recipes!! The best I ever tasted! He even has curries! Yum!!
Best Vegan Recipes
This book saved my life from bad eating. Thank you Gaz Oakley!!
Brillany
Best Cook book ever. Every meal Ive cooked my husband has loved and he’s not Vegan
Vegan food
Lovely book
the vegan cookbook I have been searching for for years
It's beautiful and I want to cook almost every recipe in the book. This week mushroom soup and spaghetti. I love that it breaks down the complexity. So if I feel like taking my time I can pick something harder to make. Most vegan recipe books I have are just pages of curries, stew, and wet food.. I love curry.. but I dont like wet foods all the time. This food is gorgeous. This book is gorgeous.. so happy I preordered it.
Fantastic tasting food made easy
I was skeptical. I previously purchased Vegan 100 and loved it, but Gaz mentioned Plants only had some quicker and easier recipe options so I bought it too. Same wonderful, healthy, hearty food in less time? YES! Without Gaz I don’t know how I would have stuck to vegan meals but these are so much better than the boring meat, potato, veg meals I was served growing up. Thanks Gaz, your very talented!
Excellent value for the price
First, this book is goergous to look at! There are so many recipes and they use easy to find ingredients. This book is great gift idea for yourself, a vegan or anyone interesting in trying out vegan cuisine. All the steps are clear and easy to make. I strongly recommend this book along with the two other ones he wrote. :)
Heightened my culinary skills!
For vegans just using Pinterest for their meal planning, this book took our meals to the next level. Gaz has an amazing YouTube channel too. There are some super simple recipes, and there are a lot of challenging ones too. But you get used to it very fast. He uses ingredients that are relatively cheap at the grocery store, but you also have to translate a few of his UK English terms for some ingredients. This book is a must have!
Great for intermediate chefs!
I really love the diversity of this cook book! There is quick meals and more advanced meals but all are very easily made with the easy instructions. 10/10 for taste and execution!
You will not be disappointed with this amazing cookbook!!
Love this vegan cookbook. Recipes are so doable. They are delicious!! Watch his YouTube channel he cooks these recipes and inspire me to cook them. Book is easy to follow and full of information. Gaz has taken vegan eating to a higher level making “steak, pepperoni, eggs, right from scratch. A must have book for vegan beginners or veteran vegans. X
We love Gaz!
We have Gaz’s other cookbooks and were excited to preorder this one. His recipes are always delicious.
amazing
very easy to follow. a friend recommended this and i can say i also love the recipes. good variety and very easy to follow.
Fantastic Recipes
WOW! Gaz has done it again, this cookbook is perfect anyone who wants to incorporate quick and easy to follow. Even if you aren't vegan these plant based recipes can be enjoyed by everyone!
