It’s a mess. Izzy’s grandfather is breaking her heart, not answering her calls. Cormack’s parents have brought their entitled, snobbish selves to visit, ensconcing themselves in the family home, and worse, ratcheting up enough tension to make baby Lily cry. And cry. A cult-style group, led by an obvious conman, and claiming the desire to find a door to living forever, is walking in circles right across from the Death Gate. And no one is sure what will happen next with the revenants. Though Izzy can feel the wrongness., she’s so distracted, she hasn’t quite been able to see how all the pieces fit together. But Izzy’s mind is a beautiful thing.

One of the wonderful things about this author is the character development. I love the way that she combines the characters from the different series.

I've been following the Izzy Sage series since they started. Now part of the Grimlock clan as Braden’s love, Izzy arrives to work one day to find a cult walking around the public parking lot. This definitely gives her cause feel uneasy. These are not run of the mill kook cultists, led by Titus, the manipulative leader, who demands entry to the 'Death door'. To make matters worse, the girlfriend of a street lord is killed on Belle Isle & he suffers a knife wound. But the absolute worse is the arrival of Mary & Emmett Grimlock , Cormack’s parents and two of the most unpleasant, straightlaced, critical people who ever came through the Grimlock Mansion. They criticise everything & every parental decision Cormack makes. This makes daughter, Aisling, decide to wind them up every chance she gets. Between the over the top battles they are subjected to, all the Grimlocks are wondering, not only when they're leaving but why they came in the first place ?? When Lily gets involved & screams bloody hell every time a group of cult members stand on public land chanting. It's all Grimlocks on deck to deal with this menace. The mention of Magical Carnival crossovr has me wanting to get that series too. Amanda M Lee is an extraordinary writer of paranormal mysteries that will keep you reading ' just one more chapter'. It will be so worth it.

This was a quick read. I couldn't put it down. The mystery, the drama and the unfolding development of the grandparents kept me hooked through the end. I enjoyed it very much and now on to book 5.

Found the story to be good. The plot was there and you could see after the fact of how things fit together, yet didn’t necessarily deduce everything within a short time span. I like to be kept guessing, so this is a definite win. I like the crossover potential of the characters in the various Lee novels. I do think that Poet and Mystic Caravan was brought up a couple times too many. Twice would have been plenty. Altogether a good read

I really enjoyed the Grimlock series and had a little trouble initially getting into this be l series because, while most of the characters are the same, it's told from a different perspective and has a slightly different feel to it than the original series. I'm happy to say that I've gotten over that initial impression and enjoy this series just as much as the other. I look forward to reading more.

Evil is as evil does... I highly recommend this kick- evil's -backside book, and the phenomenal series associated with it, to readers who love reading imaginative mysteries. Enjoy!

I love Izzy she has spunk and never take anything from anyone. This one was good from start to finish. She met the evil grandparents the grimlocks hate and found out they really are evil.

This book kept my interest from the start. Love the plot twists that there are and I can not wait to see what happens next in this series.

Amanda Lee is one of my favorite authors. This series, to me, is one of her best. The characters are alive, snarky, completely loveable. The best part....they are family. You won't want to put the book down. It's that good.

Well, the ending certainly surprised me. I love it when I get a surprise ending. Innocent people died in this book. And the ending of the book was justice served. There is an overall arching plotline that is shaping up to be formidable. Several people with strong paranormal powers are heading towards the Grimlocks and Izzy. Other strong allies also will fight on the side of humanity. For sure I am reading the next book. Cannot wait.

It's very difficult to run out of new for the same review. ....As always great plot, great characters, and of course super twist to make us yearn for the next book! Keep'em coming MS. Lee!

The death gate series now finds the heroine in battle with a cult that wishes to open the gate to reunite with their loved ones. it's got a decent plot and does pick up where the last novel stopped. We meet some new family members who are not as they seem, but this book leaves us with anticipation of how this battle will continue!

This series is a spinoff from the Aisling Grimlock series, which was one of my favorites! This series has been another favorite from the first book. The characters are interesting, and full of snark and sarcasm. The mystery is wrapped up by the end to a point, but there are larger story arcs that continue from one book to the next. I highly recommend this series and that they be read in order!

This was an extremely intense and intriguing story which turns out to be a mind blower for both the reapers and Izzy.

Loved this book. Recommend to all, start with book 1 of the series. Book 4 of the series is worth waiting for. I love to get immersed into the family, the love and the adventures as they unfold. Just told my husband I cannot wait for the next book. Hoping one is already being written, guess I am a little selfish but this series and other by Amanda are GREAT!

I truly enjoyed this newest addition to this series. I love Izzy and all of the Grimlocks. I enjoyed the interaction with Izzy's grandfather and hope we see more of him. I had a really difficult time putting this one down and can't wait to read the next!

This installment really packs a punch. We are starting to see how everything will come together as we lead up to a huge battle. I love Izzy and how she fits in the the Grimlocks. I love the side characters, Oliver in particular, and we are seeing more of him and his role. The next book is so well set up I can barely wait!

The ending was a total surprise. I love this series with Izzy and the Grimlocks. I like the new characters coming in. It seems like this book is a great start for the next. With Luna helping , and the out of town guest coming. Brandon is totally whipped. This book is great. Even baby Lily is prefect with the giggles and crying.

Well don't start reading this book unless you have the whole night or day to finish! I couldn't put it down once i started . I was totally surprised with the ending didn't see it. I love the whole series Izzy is so thoughtful about her magic she is easily one of my favorite characters!

Poor Izzy, having to deal with a cult on the aquarium's parking lot. Thank goodness she has friends to help her figure out what's really going on. As with all of Ms Lee's books, extremely well written with great character development and lots of fun plot twists to keep things interesting.

Absolutely love this series. I like how Amanda keeps using characters from other series. In this book. We meet the grandparents (who nobody likes), a cult (who everyone thinks they are up to something). My only complaint, IT ENDED TOO SOON and have to wait 5 months for the next book.

The cult is convinced there is a door to the great beyond somewhere around the Aquarium. The cult members want their family members to rejoin them or at least speak with them. Izzy wants the name of this crazy conman. Then there's a murder and blondes start disappearing. Let the fun begin!

This book was fantastic. I couldn't put it down. It even made me cry at one point.The words were so descriptive I saw myself on the streets of Detroit. I was born there. The connection between Izzy and Braden was heartwarming. Can't wait for the next book

Amanda M. Lee did it again. This book had some good twists going on. My favorite thing about this series and the Grimlock series is how the family always comes together no matter what the situation is. I can't wait for the next book.

I loved this installment of the Death Gate series. The Grimlock grandparents have come to make everyone miserable as Izzy is trying to deal with the cult who showed up at the aquarium. Great fun and I hope we see more of Luna, Zoe, Aric, and Sami.

I meant to read a little of this when I got home from work, make dinner, and surf the web. At least I ate! This is Ms Lee's best series to date and followers of it will be far from disappointed!

I fall more in love with Izzy every book. She is such a great addition to this world. I sat down to get a couple of chapters in before bed last night and ended up staying up to read the whole thing. Snarky to the core!!

Wow just about sums it up! Amanda’s books are so so good! Pretty much the only author I read. Few authors can write such a good tale with awesome characters, lots of humor, and such creative storylines!

I can't put this series down. I love the characters and that family is the most important aspect. I don't like the ear flicking and pinching that couples do in all her books because of domestic violence. Even passively it's wrong. Other than that, Amanda M. Lee is quickly becoming one of my favorite paranormal cozy mystery writters. The world she has created is cohesive and real.

Wow! This book was...wow. Every time I thought I’d figured out what was going on, another twist is revealed. I was turned in so many directions. I heartily suggest you not begin this series with this book. Ideally you’ll read the Aisling Grimlock series, and then begin this one with the first book in the series. It’s truly worth the trip. Ms. Lee is a talented author and knows just how to wrap us up in the story. I literally cannot stop reading by the time I get to the last few chapters. It doesn’t matter how sleepy I am, I have to finish. I haven’t reviewed this book very well, and I apologize. But it’s all about the storyline. If you don’t begin at the beginning, nothing will make any sense. The Grimlocks are a family of Reapers, the people who collect the souls of the dead at the moment of their death and assist in ferrying them to their final destination. Izzy, the daughter of Reapers who died tragically, is in charge of the Death Gate, where the souls are released. The supporting characters are exactly what’s needed to move the story along. Seriously. Just begin at the beginning. You won’t regret it, and if you’ve read this far, you’ll become a fan of both series. Then like any good reading addict, I mean, fan, you’ll find that you have to read all of her other books. All. The. Books. Thank goodness for Kindle Unlimited!

It is always an adventure when the Grimlocks are involved and this series has Izzy who is just bad to the bone. I can't wait for the next book because I think we will have not only Zoe and company, but also grandpa. I look forward to the next book and a new adventure with a full crew of bad asses.

Oh, it's always fun to visit the Grimlocks and I have to say the Death Gate series is a wonderful side spin series that just melds into Amanda M Lees supernatural world awesomely. Izzy is amazing and I love her job Oliver and Paris are great workmates and more than that they are family as are the Grimlocks I seriously love Izzy and Braden together and Cormack is hilarious with Izzy he has just added her to the family seamlessly and we can't forget Aisling this may not be her series but she still adds her stamp to each book without overpowering the series and I love it. This story was interesting in many ways, the cult, linking Paris in more and the potential visit with Zoe, Aric, and Sammi, slipping the revenants in toward the end with threads to the bigger plot and omg Cormack's parents now there is a powder keg of epic proportions waiting to explode...

I love this series. I cant say why or anything just that it is a really good interesting series, if it wasn't I would have just stopped at the beginning of the 1st book..& I am picky & will 'toss' a book if it can't hold my attention these books by Amanda M. Lee definitely hold my attention.

Only the Devout is the fourth book in the "Only" series, a stand alone series which is an off shoot from the "Grim" series. You don't have to have read the Grim series, but if you have you understand the characters Izzy interacts with that much better. In Only the Devout, Izzy faces several challenges, the Grimlock grandparents, who are no prize, and a cult decides to invade Belle Isle, looking for a door between the living and the dead. I love this series, I love the Grim series. Amanda M. Lee writes excellent paranormal mysteries, with strong female characters that grow as the series progresses. The stories are entertaining, riveting, and contain lots of snark. She is one of my favorite authors, and this is definitely a series not to miss.

I always think Amanda M Lee books and too soon. Don't take me wrong, the books are a decent length but I always want more they are so entertaining. Especially this series as it has always been going toward a goal. Figuring out what happened to Izzy when she was younger and how that story is continuing. Plus you get your Grimlock and now some of your Zoey fix. Needless to say I can't wait for the next part of the story (not patiently anyway.) No language, no graphic sex (sex off page) or violence (most off page.) I recommend all of Amanda M Lee's series ' plus her Lily Harper Hart series '.

Awesome fast paced read with lots of snarky humor between the characters and great storyline,love the interaction between the different supernaturals and lots of twists and turns with combining characters from different stories coming together

There are not enough adjectives in the English, French, Norse and Chinese languages combined to describe my immense love for the Grimlock world. Really enjoying the storyline arc. Facinated by the moon goddess of the pink hair. Hope to see a lot more of her. Can't wait for my next e -girls nights with Izzy and Ainsley. And, maybe a few old school chums???? You'll have to steal my soul to keep me away. Ok. Not really. That just got kinda dark. Regardless, very much looking forward to the next story. I do need my soul though, thanks.

This book was Great! Izzy's a truly a great character. The fact that we also have The Grimlocks too is just a huge bonus. The story starts with Izzy & Braden discussing the Grandparents visit. No-one is happy about that plus then the cult shows up in the parking lot of the aquarium all he'll brokes lose. Izzy's know something is coming. As always you have dinner and a show plus lots of lol moments. Fun read. About how good the story was. Can't wait for the next book I look forward to seeing all the interactions with the Covenant College it'll be wonderful.

I love this series so much it's not even funny. I've re-read every book that has to do with the Grimlocks more times than I can count, but I think this series is even better than the original Grimlock series. There's so much character growth and the additional magic that Izzy brings to the story really adds some extra intrigue for me. And, my favorite parts of this book were definitely the scenes with Lily. So cute, and so funny! This was another great read and I can't wait to find out what happens next. I would definitely recommend this book!

The story is solid (like a brick). The story builds on the previous books (like bricks in a wall) and sets up for more books (bricks). Izzy has what appears to be a cult show up in front of the aquarium. But all is not as it seams. A few new interesting characters are added and a mystery is solved. The book (brick) is a great setup for the next book in which Zoe's family from the Covenant College series will visit. Looking forward to continue reading the series.

I have come to expect a certain level of Storytelling from any Amanda M Lee book and I have not been disappointed yet. Adding is e to the Grimlock family has been a wonderful story line. The Grimlocks are fantastic on their own, but Izzy's stories have a bit more of an edge to them. She is a little more serious and cut-throat than the Grimlocks in their regular stories. A wonderful addition! This twisty story is setting up for a wonderful large brawl that I cannot wait to! Thank you Miss Lee!

This is another great series from Amanda M Lee...and another fabulous story in the series. Once I started, I couldn't put it down! Izzy and Braden and the rest of the Grimlocks are facing another threat, and they are a stronger team than ever. This adventure is leading to what is likely (hopefully) their biggest challenge ever...and I can't wait! These are great books to escape in for a bit, with fun and relatable characters you can't help but love - can't wait for the next one!

Amanda M Lee just keeps the surprises coming. As always her characters are on point and the twists and turns will leave you waiting impatiently for the next book. Join Izzy, Braden, Aisling, and the rest of the Grimlocks to try and bring down a cult and find answers that will blow you away. It is a remarkable talent Ms. Lee has to be able to fuse so many series together and at the same time keep things going without giving anything away until the time is right!

This book was another excellent story that kept me completely enthralled for hours. Izzy and Braden are adorable and I was a huge doubter on this relationship at the beginning because I thought Braden was a douche. He is finally becoming a character I can love. Aisling is at her snarky best and Cormack is the dad we all wish we had! Great book! Left on a cliffhanger which is frustrating but totally understandable. The next book will be Epic! Zoe Lake meets the Grimlocks ahhhhhh I cannot wait!

I've waited impatiently for the 4th book of this series since I read the very first one. As each book came out I started reading the whole thing. I'm tickled by Izzys simple down to earth energy compared to the Grimlocks excesses. I'm looking forward reading the adventures of Izzy and Braden in the swamps when they eventually get to that point. Keep up the great work. Let's hope you can get the next 50 books in the series out soon. Maybe mixing in your other cast members.

The Grimlocks are my favorite of Amanda M. Lee’s characters. Izzy and Braden make one heck of a couple. Cormack’s parents visit, and we see why they have been separated from the Grimlock clan. Izzy as some ups and downs as she tries to figure out what’s going on outside the aquarium. The ending is quite surprising. The next book promises to be a crossover from another of Ms. Lee’s books. This is not a cliffhanger, but the adventure will continue!

I seriously couldn't stop reading this story. I'm just sad that it didn't appear on my feed so i could have rad it months ago. At least I can read the next book in the series without being totally confused! Enjoy! You don't be sorry.

Picking up a few weeks after the last one (and the Aisling situation), everyone is still slightly on edge when a cult decides to camp out on Belle Isle and the aquarium parking lot. When a young woman is found murdered, Izzy is convinced something more sinister is going on and it's connected to the gate. This was such a great book and the end was so exciting. I absolutely cannot wait until the next one.

The Death Gate and Grimlock Reaper series both continue to weave together. Grandparents Grimlock are in town for visit and chaos with the a cult looking for “door” becomes a problem for Izzy. . Paris from Covenant College has joined the team and foreshadowing of a guest appearance of Zoe, Aric amd Sami in the next book looks imminent. (One can only hope their tan vampire comes with them to Belle Island.) Read series in order!

This series, which is a spinoff from the Grimlocks, just keeps getting better and better. Izzy Sage, the gate keeper, is still looking for answers into her parents death. As she and the Grimlocks continue on quests for answers, they get more questions and as more battles hover on the horizon, each adventure they embark on becomes more challenging and more exciting then the last. That is a hard feat considering how great the series started

I love this series, especially the main character, Izzy...she is a imperfect heroine with strength in character and desire to protect those she is loyal to. In this book we delve deeper into the evil impacting the gate community and of course it done with laughs and snark because Izzy is part of the Grimlock family. I cant wait until the next book in this series..because it's a crossover with some great characters from another wonderful series.

I would recommend reading the Grim story line first. It is fun to watch the Grimlocks from another perspective. Izzy is someone who can bring a whole new world, to the Grimlock story. It is a fun read.

I didn't want this Book to end, it's a book you just can't put down. The story moves quickly and the plot so involved, you don't see what's coming. The characters are so entertaining and even though there are life and death situations, there is laugh out loud comic relief as well. So well written. I can't get enough of this Series! Looking forward to the next book!

I love Izzy and Braden! For those of us who live the Grimlocks we got to see many of them in this story including the Grimlock grandparents. There was even a brief appearance from the Winters family for those of us who lived the Covenant Universe! With our giving away any spoilers the ending surprised me. I can't wait for the next book!

Izzy is one of my favorite Amanda Lee characters and who doesn’t love all the Grimlocks! The ending will total surprise you. I was floored when I found out who is behind this and the war it is about to start. I can’t wait for the next book and to see how Izzy, Aisling, and Zoey interact with each other.

Wanting more is always a sign of a good book. Now I can’t wait for the next book in this series. Really like this series. I have to admit that I like all the books that have the Grimlocks in them. The dialogue that happens when they get in a room together is snarky, entertaining and hysterical.

I absolutely love this series! I especially like how characters from other storylines are involved. Paris is from the Covenant College series and of course the Grimlocks. The characters are well developed and the conversations flow naturally. The plot and subplots move quickly,making it hard to put the book down. I can't wait for the next installment.

The Death Gate series is always entertaining. Watching the Grimlock ' s interact with their grandparents had me laughing out loud. Izzy is such a kick arse heroine. I love books with strong women who also realize when they need to accept help. I definitely recommend this book .

I wanna take a moment here and whine about how am I going to make it until October to find out what happens next??? But seriously so much happened in this book and I think it may be Amanda's best one yet ( and that's really saying something because I love most of her books ).

I really enjoy Amanda m. Lee's sense of humor. I enjoy the way the families in her stories torment each other, but always have each other's backs. I've been reading several of her series and can't seem to get enough. Izzy is definitely my favorite character, out of multiple truly enjoyable characters

Another great reaper book I really love the Grimlocks I enjoy their snarkiness plus the story had me guesssing.it was great to read during quarantee. I thought it was funny thinking about Lily would be like as teenager and causing trouble for Aisling. Can't wait for more .I always feel sad when I finish a book.

I devoured this book! The plot kept unwinding into places I didnt expect. Can I rate this 10 stars! All I'll say is you won't be disappointed with this series. Sass and snark and the beginning of a huge mystery that will take more chapters to resolve! Can hardly wait!

All I can say is WOW! This book was amazing and I am not sure I can wait for the next one. Amanda outdid herself with this one. She has such a talent for making her characters so dimensional that you want them to be part of your circle of friends.

Overall this is a great series. I love the characters and their interactions. Aisling and Griffins little one will be quite the ally soon. I only wished they could've figured everything out sooner and we could have seen a bit more of the messy cleanup. But, a good addition to the series.

I love all of Amanda’s books, and one of my favorite things about them is that the main characters treat everyone equally. Izzy doesn’t care of you’re homeless, a sex worker, or an addict, she’s going to treat you how she treats everyone else, everyone is a person to her and it’s so refreshing.

I can't get enough. The Grimlocks are one of my favorites and Now I get the best of both worlds with Izzy. I can't wait for the next book and hope it's the crossover of crossovers. Amanda is one of my favorite authors . Please don't ever stop writting

...So far. This was a twisty turn around and go back and check that again story. I love it. Braedan and Izzy's storyline is growing. I'm glad about the apology. I liked how each sibling responded to Emmet and Mary. Grampa had me tearing up. Good job.

Think this is the best in the series so far. I can not wait for the next one! I love that Amanda M. Lee brings all my favorite characters together in her books. It makes me anticipate when the next book is coming out, and I can’t wait!

I have read everything Amanda has written and thankful that she releases new books frequently. I love how she brings together characters from other stories, makes them all like one big happy family. Looking forward to reading the next "installment" Zoe and Aric are coming to town.

Once again Izzy doesn't disappoint! A mysterious group of people show up at the Aquarium one day, talking crazy about a door. The Grimlock grandparents come for a visit, all the while Izzy is missing her own Grandfather. An excellent twist at the end leaves you stunned! Must read

love love love. not much to say about a series that just keeps getting better and better. I love Cormack and and brood of children and how izzy is just part of them now. cant wait to see what zoey brings in the next book!

Each book in the series keeps getting better and better. The Grimlocks are hilarious. I laughed so hard at their antics. The book was full of mystery, snark, and love. I highly recommend this series and the Reaper series that precedes it.

What an exciting story. I love these characters more with every story. They all have grown so much and yet still have their unique charm that first drew me in. You absolutely have to read this book. Loved it

i really enjoyed this book. and this series. the grimlocks and the reapers and a snarkyg ckunterpoint for izzy and the gate. my only complaint is the book is too short. it could be 1000 pages and it would be too short.

I. Love. This. Series. This was a great book, lots of plot advancement, relationship intrigue, cormack's parents, and a lot of grimlocks humor. I can't wait for the rest of the series. I recommend all her novels and series'.

As always, this glance into Izzy's life is excellent. You can't help but love Izzy and coupling her with the Grimlocks makes it even better. Snark, sarcasm, sibling angst, what more could you want.

This is book 4 in the series and the books just keep getting better. This series brings in characters from other series, which I love and the storyline will continue in the next book, which I can’t wait for.

Amanda M Lee is a must read for me, and this book was one of the best! I cannot wait for the crossover to happen in the next book! Such amazing and complex storytelling, it compleyely puts you in another world.

The threat further materializes in this volume, as relationships coalesce, we learn more about Izzy and her capabilities, and the unseen menace comes closer to appearing. Thrilling ending, leaving the reader eagerly awaiting the next volume in the series.

I’ve yet to find a book by Amanda that I don’t read every word. Izzy’s life and her unusual job isn’t any different I love how Amanda interweaves the Grimlocks into the story, but it’s still Izzy’s story.

This author is one of my favorites!!! Her character development in ALL her series is some of the best I’ve ever read! This one didn’t disappoint!!!! The story line, characters, build up from start to finish! Soo good!!!!!

If things are not bad enough for Izzy with Braden's "evil" grandparents coming to visit, a cult has set up shop outside if the Aquarium. Throw in a couple of murders and it is almost business as usual

Another episode from a great writer Amanda m Lee. Love this series of Izzy and the grimlocks. The ending was a bit too short, almost a cliffhanger. Have to wait for the next book to conclude the ending.

I thought I had the bad guy figured out and what his motive was but, boy, was I seriously wrong. I love that! Very few books surprise me anymore but I did not see the ending coming.

Izzy is trying to.figure out why a cult has taken over her island while also getting to meet Cormack's parents. This book has a lot of twists and turns and the family will never be the same.

As always amanda m lee has out done herself. Never a dull moment if you start it be prepared to finish it the same day. So many twist and turns with an ending you do not see coming.

This was a fabulous continuation of the Death Gate series. I love how Amanda crosses over characters from other series. I can’t watch t for the next book,I have been so hoping to read about Zoe again.

This is a perfect continuation of the Grimlocks but adding Izzy to the mix just made it outstanding. I can't wait till the Winters come to town! I'm excited for the next story.

Amanda puts great twists. I didn't see it coming. She always keeps me on the edge of my seat. And wanting more. I am so excited to see where the next installment takes us.

Izzy is probably one of my favorite characters from this author, and Braden has fast become my favorite Grimlock. This book was fast paced, crazy good, and one of the best so far.

This series keeps you hooked to the last word. And, begging for more. It is a dessert bar of delights for those who love plot twists and a little grim in their reading.

Another winner from Amanda M Lee. Im lovng this series. Izzy is a terrific character all on her own, add in the Grimlocks and laugh out loud adventure follows. Eagerly awaiting #5.
