NIV, Boys Bible, Hardcover

Just picked this package up off front door, poorly packaged, opened book up, it opens to Revelation, I’m no Biblical scholar but I know Revelations is not the 1st book of the Bible & it is upside down. Very disappointed 😞

I am rating my personal copy of this Bible a one-star because it is missing 2 Corinthians and part of the book of Galatians. The Bible overall is a wonderful first Bible for young boys - it's laid out well and is everything the distributor has described it to be. In fact, my son has had this Bible for two years and taken it with him to his children's church services and read from it at home - he loves his Bible. However, it wasn't until a week ago that I used his Bible during one of my services and our scripture reading was from 2 Corinthians. What a surprise I had when I got to the end of 1 Corinthians and the Bible jumped straight to Galatians 3:2. The Bible has not been damaged so those particular books did not 'fall out' of the spine of the Bible - they just aren't there! I'm sure this has to be one of few copies of this Bible that has this defect. Otherwise, I'd certainly give it a 4.5 star rating.

Well, it's the Bible so of course it's a 5 star review. But in all seriousness, it really is a nice Bible for boys. My 10 year old son took it to camp and it seemed to be a good quality cover (I wanted softcover) in the translation I preferred, and the price I wanted. I added tabs to the side so he can easily look up the books of the Bible without getting frustrated and they stuck well. Pages are thin but NOT like the super thin pages you might get with adult Bibles. It stays open when he has it open on a table which was also important to me when choosing a "real" Bible for my child. He can study and read and make notes without the thing closing up on him (think hardcover). However, if he's at the very beginning or very end, that doesn't always work out but I didn't expect that. I would recommend this Bible for boys up until they start high school.

Don't hesitate, buy this. My 11 year-old son reads this willingly and joyfully. GREAT features throughout this Bible, specifically aimed at boys. The 'grossology' blurbs are the best! Glory to God!

My 9 year old son loves this bible, it makes studying the bible fun and interesting for him. It would make a perfect gift for a young boy whose not quite a teen yet. My son really love the Grossology facts the book has and that they highlight important verses.

I love the bible itself, but it came damaged in a few spots. And it was packaged fine. Which leads me to think it was sent damaged. I'm sad as I don't have enough time to send back for a new replacement. This is my sons upgrade from his children's bible and it was a gift for him. Might be better off going to a book store (our Christian book store was out locally so I took the chance here).

Quality Bible. Text format for older boys or teens.

I have a NIV study Bible and wanted one for my son. I recommend this bible. We started reading it for homeschooling and he doesn't want to put it down. I am so pleased

One is called grossology....Information that might be found to be gross are brought up in these highlights. From what I see, I would recommend this to anyone looking for an interesting Bible for a young boy.

got it for my twelve year old child and he loves it because it has pictures and small explanation of part of the chapter reading in some pages. he loves it. its his first bible.it has very strong cover. love it

I ordered this for my nine year old son. He brought home the KJV Bible from the school library and read it front to back. I knew he needed something he could understand a little easier. He LOVES it!! He loves all the added details that help him understand when, where, and why. Such a great tool for young minds!!

I bought this as a birthday gift for my 9 year old son who wanted a real bible he could read. so far we have been reading it and it is very nice for him. I have an NIV and King James, he likes to read and compare and he is very happy that it is right on and also has additional commentary for boys /children that can be of great guidance. The reading is light but not distorted. I should have bought this bible sooner. What a great gift of the word of God in a form he can understand...

Good book. I have a preteen using it and the cover did not stnad up to the punishment. Needs to be in a case. Lots of tidbits in there. Son surprised me by telling me information tha "he found" in the bible!

My kid loved this Bible especially after we added cheater tabs for all the books. However, it could not withstand regular use and the binding gave up after several rounds of duct-tape. A library-binding option would be great.

Purchased this Old/New Testament Bible for my special needs son for a Christmas gift. Just know he will love it. Seems it will be easy to understand. Nice size also. Nice sz font as well.

Its all I expected I loved it and it really caught the attention of the person I gifted it to the tire marks makes it easy for a ten to feel more comfortable carrying it with him without feeling judged by anyone the text inside the way its formatted so this teenage boy can understand it its all I expected and more

Better for a child who is reading and 9 years old or older.

My husband and I bought this bible for our 9 year old son for his first time going away for church camp and he was so excited because it looked like military colors and he is all about the military and being in Gods Army! We loved how it was written for boys his age (8-11 years old) and written so they could understand too. The blue and orange print is not bad at all like some other reviewers have mentioned. The orange is on the chapter numbers and really makes them stand out. For my son, this is good because he does not like reading, looses interest real quick. So anytime there is a pop of color change or a picture or a bit of history in a table at the bottom of the page, this is great because it grabs his attention. The only thing we wanted to help him even more with finding the chapters was a bible with the tabs to make it easier for him to find because he is use to his bible app on the Kindle, but because they couldn't take devices, he needed an actual bible. So we purchased bible tabs and I put these tabs on each chapter before he left and he was so excited because it helped him find where the chapters were rather than always have to look in the table of contents. The pages are very thin like most bible pages, but you just have to remind them to be gentle with it and really take good care of their bible. I also wished it had a This Bible belongs to: page at the front because I remember in my first bible as a kid my parents got me one with that and wrote a nice little message to me and we got one for our daughter too a few years back. But the front cover is all white so we just wrote a little message there and put the date. We made it work.

I bought this bible for my grandson. I love everything about it except it doesnt have an alphabetical table of contents. He is just learning to use his bible and is not sure where the books of the bible are located. A bit frustrating for him when he is trying to look up a verse.

Bought this for my son for Christmas and looked through it before wrapping it. I liked that it is in NIV and is easy for him to understand. His current Bible is KJV and it s hard to understand what he is reading. I also like the synopsis at the beginning of each book. I cannot wait for him to want to explore this wonderful book even more.

It came with some wierd black stain on it. Looks like food or somethingb was not shrink wrapped.

The cover is made of a durable, synthetic material. I love the readability of the NIV Bible. It is accurate enough to be considered a good translation. Yet it is readable enough to be clearly understood. I love the additional notes, explanations, and applications that are geared specifically for young boys.

Love the side comments it has written in "cool" tones for boys to enjoy.

By boys they mean 12+. Too advanced for an 8 year old.

very cool and easy to read for 10 yr olds

I bought this bible for my son for Christmas so he really didn't start using it for over a month after I purchased it. . It is April and the spine has come unglued and is falling apart which has caused the back cover to begin to tear off.. Very poor quality in my book. When you purchase a bible you expect it to last until they are ready to move on to a more age appropriate Bible.

Of course it's a great bible, but my sons came used and written in!

It was good. Excellent for kids except it has no pictures that appeals to the visual sense. Good for early teens

(Personal Opinion) Jesus' Speaking Should ALWAYS Be Red Letter, so to not Have It That Way In A Child's Bible, confusing and disappointing.

Came super fast! It's hard cover and is exactly what we needed. The print is serif and a lighter blue. I would have liked a larger print and perhaps san serif print in black or a darker color. Overall, it was what we needed and my son is happy with it.

This Bible is perfect for elementary age boys. My son is 8 years old, and he loves to read it and proudly carries it around. He even put it in his backpack and carried it to school! (Public school.) This product is very poor quality. The print was placed in the hardcover upside down and torn from another book to be placed in there. The pages are tattered from doing so. So frustrated
