NIrV, Adventure Bible for Early Readers, Hardcover, Full Color, Magnetic Closure, Lion

This bible is beautifully made. We bought this for our 6 year old son. I think the lion on the front was very intriguing for him as opposed to the other option for this bible, as he chose this one. I saw a couple of reviews complaining about the flab that holds the bible closed making it not fit the case, which isn't necessarily true. If you want to use the case as a book cover you can easily fold the book cover over in the back and not use it. Or, it fits in the case fine how it comes if you just use it as a carrier. I've also attached an image of the case our son chose for reference, as I'm not sure how other cases would work. The bible did come with a couple small dings on it. If this wasn't for a child who will probably make a few marks themselves, I probably would be a little upset about it.

I've purchased this bible in the past, the original version for my oldest daughter. We love the mix of photos, facts & being able to look up scripture. I ordered this version for my youngest daughter & grabbed it for the fact that she loves animals, the lion will distinguish her bible from her sister's. When it arrived I was blown away at the quality of the magnet tab closure! I didn't even realize this when I was shopping. The price was great & the lion was better. But the magnet flap will def keep this bible in great shape for years to come!

Just once, DO judge a book by its cover. This Bible is *gorgeous*. It's shimmery golden brown, the pictures do no justice at all. The size is smaller than I thought so it's perfect for my 8 year old to carry, the heft feels solid and strong, the tab to keep pages from wearing out is thick and sturdy (not to mention genius), and the NIrV translation for younger readers is a nice touch. Now to figure out if I give this beauty to my daughter, or keep it for myself...

Not a storybook bible. The Word translated in a young reader format but still with adult themes needing to be discussed with an adult.

Bought this for our 8yo son. Love the early readers version, he can easily read the passages himself. He loves the interior layout and especially likes this cover. I like the flap that closes over the cover to protect the pages when he carries it around. We have this same Bible with a different cover (without the flap) for our daughter and the pages have definitely received some abuse.

Great Bible for my 8 year old. I put the Bible tabs on it. We also put a Bible cover on it, we folded the front flap part back to make the Bible cover work. Easy to read.

I bought this for a birthday gift, but unfortunately it arrived damaged. It looks likes someone grabbed it off the shelf and dug a nail in the spine in the process. The book is otherwise okay and is very beautiful inside and out; accept for the hole in the spine, which distracts from the beauty and makes the book look second-hand. I don't see how I can give the book as a gift now, so I may just use it myself.

I'm very happy with my purchase. This Bible is great for kids. The cover design and inside pages are attractive. I like that this Bible contains all the Books (Old and New Testament) with chapters and verses, not just bible stories like most children's bibles. Also, the language in this version is easy for kids to understand and the highlights are eye catching and explanatory. It helps my child to reinforce the principles that he is learning and also is a good guide to help him connect with God in prayer. Whit this Bible I'm looking to teach my son to love God's word, to learn how to read it (find the books, chapters and verses by his own) and I hope when he is a grownup he will remember it as a special part in his childhood and walk with God.

I like this bible but if your child already has an adventure bible, know that it's the same thing. Why would I get him another bible? Why not when you know we get the same items but in different colors. My son fell in love with it & I couldn't say no when I was getting myself another bible. I do think that the magnet makes it a lot nicer because it provides a protective barrier to protect the pages.

Even though this bible has kid friendly cover and interesting side notes for kids it still has adult content in some of the stories (David & Goliath; Samson & Delilah; etc). Just be aware when you purchase, that this has all biblical accounts and has not been edited to remove age inappropriate content.

Great Bible for a new reader. Sturdy enough for a 6-year-old boy to cart to and from church, too.

A real bible for younger kids. We bought it for my 4 year old. It might be just a tad old for him, but he loves it and we read it to him every day. Much better than the Spark story bible he was using. It has compelling drawings and points throughout and is well constructed.

I really like this Bible for my 7 year old daughter. She's a good reader and so far we are enjoying reading it together each night. She likes the little boxes with additional information throughout the pages as well. Great buy!

My 3 year old grandson and I read bible stories every morning. He specifically asked me to by this bible and one other bible. He reads and reads very well so I am hoping he will understand this bible when he eventually starts to read this for himself. He picked out the Lion cover.

This is a great Bible for kids that know how to read, but aren't quite ready for a regular Bible. NIRV is a simpler version making it easier for younger readers to understand. The magnetic closure is great! It keeps the Bible closed and protects the pages. I bought this for a 1st grader and believe it will grow with him for several years.

This Bible is really good quality! I was pleasantly surprised how sturdy the hard cover is, and I love the magnetic closure. I bought this for my son who is just learning to read. The eyes on the lion are kind of metallic/shiny - really neat!

This Bible is absolutely stunning!! The lion on the cover is even more beautiful than on the pictures and the glowing eyes is a nice touch. I love the easy translation, colorful images and friendly font.

Bought this for my 7 year old son (bought polar theme for daughter) and it is seriously an amazing bible. The graphics are gorgeous and the front of the bible even has a metallic effect I wasnt expecting. Very cool and a bible he will use for years to come!

This is a really good beginner Bible. Our daughter is so excited about it. We also got the cover to go with it. The only problem is that this particular one is very heavy. I was surprised that a beginner Bible would be so heavy. Our 5 year old complains about how heavy it is. But it is well-made and the magnetic closure is nice.

This bible is missing verses. Matthew 17:21 is totally skipped. Satan doesn't want young Christians some spirits don't leave except by prayer and fasting. I am returning this.

My 5yr old loves it. He is so excited about it that he asks to read it everyday. This translation works really well for my early reader.

Maybe a little to ‘easy’ reading. Missing some information particularly in Proverbs which we cover with the older version (non-pc) NIV. Otherwise very happy with this Bible. Purchased for 8-11 year olds.

The bible itself is stunning. It is a perfect fit for my 7 year old son who loves Jesus and lions. My problem was that of the paper...you can clearly see a few pages were not cut down to be flush with the rest of the bible. I will cut it myself...it is not a HUGE deal, just disappointed it had to be done-When I buy a product I expect it to be the best version of the product, although it was a minor issue it shows the lack of attention to detail...

I bought this for my 5 year old son and it is a very good first Bible. The cover is very nice and the notes are appropriate for kids.

Very nice Bible and easy to read to kids. I bought it for my 4 year old and he likes that it has the Lions face in the front. It is a big and a little heavy for my son to carry so we just keep it in his room to read. But I think this Bible is good that he can grow into it and have for some time.

Very easy read, capturing pictures and side notes. When my son was 7yo he had a picture bible. He got tired of it and wanted my kind of bible. So I got him this one. He's 8 now and still using it. At times uses it as his reading homework since its still challenging enough for his reading level.

FANTASTIC BIBLE!! But, it came with the front corner of the book bent and crumpled. We needed the Bible for a specific occasion so we straightened it the best we could, but it was a bummer to have it messed up right out of the box.

I gave this Bible to my grandson for his 6th birthday. It is a wonderful resource to help him read and understand the Bible for himself. It is appealing and has a lot of helps for kids. Highly recommended!

Our Grandson is 7 and needed his own bible so this is the one I chose and it is so nice. The cover really draws you in and no little boy wouldn't love it.

This was a kindergarten graduation gift for my son. He LOVESSSSS this Bible. He likes the little facts, explanations, and the way the pages look. I was delighted when Pastor allowed me to select and purchase age-appropriate Bibles for our 1st thru 3rd grade children’s Sunday School. I believe it is at this age children should begin ‘validating’ those ‘Bible Story Books’ with the real, true Word of God, reading with scripture reference and learning the books of the Bible and how to navigate the scriptures within the Bible. But the children also need to be able to understand those scriptures. In comparison to the ‘Adult’ NIV, these bibles are only slightly different, just verbiage that the children understand with absolutely no deviation from the True Word. And the children are excited by the beautiful covers and artistry within the ‘Adventure Bible.’ I was honored to be entrusted with purchasing on behalf of the Church for our Children, and not only do I love these Bibles, the Children ask for them when they walk into Sunday School each week. They ask “are we reading the Bible today?!” with big smiles and excitement. This is the first age of Harvest for the Kingdom of God and it is important that excitement about the Bible and the Scriptures is founded in their hearts, minds, and souls RIGHT NOW. WE CANNOT WAIT! This is an amazing Bible, loved by the Pastoral Staff, Parents, and most importantly, the Children of our Church. I can not possibly say enough or recommend this Bible enough. I should also add - I went to a large, well-known Christian Bible Store to select the perfect Bible. I pulled many from the shelf, along with an adult version and spread out on the floor of the store comparing, contrasting, seeking. This was not just an Amazon search - I touched many Bibles and read them right in front of me to make the right choice, guided by The Holy Spirit. I decided this was the best choice I could make for our children. Then I went on Amazon and found the Bible’s for $10 less per Bible than in the store. An amazing savings when purchasing for a large class. I’ve done the research for you. THIS IS THE ONE!!

This is a BEAUTIFUL 1st Bible for our almost 6 year old. We added it to his Amazon Wish List along with the blue Adventure Bible cover/carrier so he would have something to protect it for his AWANA meetings. He received it for Christmas along with the blue Adventure Bible cover. He was excited! The only reason this is getting 4 stars is that the item description did NOT state that this Bible has a flap to keep the Bible closed. If we had known this was a feature, we would have ordered the other hard cover version of this Bible as it does not fit into the cover flaps of the blue Bible cover/carrier. As we didn't get a gift receipt along with this order, we figure out how to make an exchange for the other Bible.

Very inviting to read, full of colour. Many attractive features throughout which are useful and not gimmicky. We've bought several of these to give away, with various covers and the recipients have been genuinely delighted. If only they'd make adult Bibles this colourful! I particularly like the magnetic closure on this cover as it protects the page edges nicely however if you are thinking of adding page index tabs be aware that they won't fit under the flap so order one of the many other designs instead. Fabulous Bible, one to get children reading the Word for themselves.
