For thousands of years Oron Vi’Eirson has lived each day trying to keep the pain and devastation caused by his family from hurting his precious baby brother. But despite his best efforts his past has come back to haunt him, placing not only Darian and Amelia in harm’s way, but also his newly found mate.

Isabelle Campbell, or as she likes to be called, Izzy, is a mess. She knows this. It’s never intentional, but somehow her curiosity always seems to run away from her. When her latest gaffe lands her homeless and fired from her favorite barista job she is left little choice but to accept the kindness of some of her favorite customers, little did she know that by doing so, she would find herself starting the biggest adventure of her life!

With kindred spirit Meryn at her side, Izzy takes on the entire fae city to protect the heart of the kindest man she has ever met. If the golden fae think they can get away with hurting her mate, they are sorely mistaken. After all, her new friend likes to electrocute people.

When facing your greatest fear means facing your family, is there any escape? Can Izzy help Oron stand against all odds?

More of a transition than a book

Don’t get me wrong, this is a great series and I encourage you to join us. However, this particular entry in the series felt more like a transition than a book. We finally have started to get answers to some very old questions. We learned the Fae world is more complex than we thought, and two new dangers were presented to us. But. There was very little action even when there could have been some. I found Izzy to be quite tame. To be honest Meryn was rather tame as well. I love Meryn’s antics. But I guess with the pregnancy advancing her antics are more confined to words than actions these days. I think we waited about a year for this book, and I must say, I do not feel rewarded for my patience. *** *** (Edit added 14 Jun, 2020 And now it has been a year since My Solace was published. I have started to wonder if the author is just tired of writing this series.........................

Meryn's Story Continues

My Solace by Alanea Alder is book number 11 of her Bewitched and Bewildered series. The books has its pros and cons. Pros: Oron and Izzy are likable characters. They had the potential for a great story and they are actually a good match. The fee kingdom is a very interesting setting, and there seems to be a lot that can be explored there in upcoming books. Finally, Ms. Alder has a wonderful sense of humor that helps bring her characters to life. Cons: The main couple did not get much page space and their relationship was rushed. While the series appears to focus on a different couple in each book, the truth is that the focus of all the books is the character of Meryn, who is the heroine in book 1. Notice I did not say the story of Meryn and her mate Aiden. I said Meryn, because she manages to take over every single story in this series. If you come into the series with this in mind, then you will not be disappointed when all your other favorite characters get sub-par stories where they never get enough page space. Mind you, Meryn is a great character, but there is only so much praising of Meryn, explaining how much everyone loves Meryn, how she can do no wrong, and so on that can happen before it all starts feeling contrived, repetitive, and cheesy. Even when the featured couple is having alone time, half of their conversation centers on Meryn. I wanted to read about Oron and Izzy, not another book about Meryn. The second problem I had with the book is the amount of characters mentioned. I found it hard to remember everyone, probably because none of these characters made a strong impression on me even in their own books due to Meryn and her overshadowing of other characters (except for the Alpha Unit, whose books were somewhat better as far as the Merynmania.) I re-read the earlier books to help with the confusion, but honestly I had very little emotional connection with the other characters and thought it might have been better for the author to bring back only a couple of older characters and leave everyone else back where they came from. Maybe the page space should have been used to introduce new characters that will appear in this arch of the series (she did some of that but nowhere near enough for it to matter,) or even better, focusing on Oron and Izzy. In conclusion, I like the author's style, her sense of humor, and the world she has created. I like her characters (including Meryn.) However, this book falls short because it fails to deliver what the blurb promised: a story centered on Oron and Izzy. This book is definitely not a standalone. New readers should start with book 1 of the series. Readers who follow the series may want to re-read the old books because there are too many characters mentioned here from older books and it is easy to lose track of who is who.

1/2 & 1/2!

This book was excellent in that it answered the burning question of who was Meryn’s father. Oron now has a new last name & a mate named Isabelle “Izzy” Campbell; got some more relatives & a house brownie. This book also had some hilarious moments & not necessarily with Meryn. As Izzy does some crazy stuff too. Izzy according to Meryn is the Coffee Goddess as she used to work in a coffee shop as a barista before she accidentally burned it down (that’s 1of the many reasons why you need to read this book). Felix was reunited with his younger brothers Feris & Finley & Meryn took them in too. There are Goblins in this book that adore Meryn also as they knew her father. I will have book hangover as I couldn’t stop reading this book once I started.

HOLY $@#BALLS

This book was EVERYTHING!!! I cannot even begin to express my love for this series. It is absolutely one of my all time favorites. It just keeps getting better and better. Whatever you do make sure you do not read ANY spoilers. Trust me you want to experience everything as it happens. It is just so freaking good. Alanea Alder's brilliance shines through once again. We learn so many new things in this book. You have to read this series from the beginning. There is a different couple at the center of the book who are mated, but there is a long running arc that you will never get if you do not begin at the beginning. Believe me though, you will be happier than I can explain to have so many fantastic books to read. I already cannot wait to do another re-read of the series. I do not want to give one single thing away from My Solace so I will just end this review with if I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. Enjoy!!!!!!!

**Spoilers... very disappointing ... who wrote this nonsense???

This was a very disappointing read. Oron and Izzy's story was not given enough thought and development like all of the other characters from the previous books. There was a lot of comings and goings by new and previous characters...at times they were referred to as he/she but it wasn't clear which he or she was being spoken about because the paragraph wasn't detailed enough and didn't make sense. This felt like it should have been book 10.5 instead of book 11. Spoiler: how do the guys not find the women after hours of them being missing?? I can't see how they didn't think to look on the forest for them....I mean both women are itching for trouble...also that whole part didn't really fit into the book much since nothing was really done with it afterwards. And when did Meryn turn into Vanellope from Wreck-it Ralph??? Her way of speaking becomes ridiculous at times...She doesn't sound anything like she usually does...I wasn't a big fan of how Izzy's character was written or how the queen seems to have never taken notice or issue with how Oron was treated his entire life(after she adopted him)... The queen says she loves the goblins.... they're her children but for thousands of years she doesn't bother with them so basically from her example no one else does either.... the entire premonition thing is just a no for me..... I could see her having the premonition but you lost me when they were able to talk to one another....no one really acted like themselves ... I have loved the other books in this series... this one fell flat and I'm sorry but by book 11 they're really shouldn't have been so many damn typos! I wish she would toss this book out and redo it... I feel cheated! I'm usually psyched for the next book... this time I'm peeved....I feel like she spending more time rewriting a series she started before it's called Kindred of Arkadia(which was never finished by the way) instead of putting 100% into this series... that other series was ok...it was rather annoying at times with all the crying...pick one series and finish it so they both don't suck a$$

Much Anticipated and So worth the Wait!

I probably am not the most impartial person to review any book in this series but I will do my best. If you are looking for shifters, vampires, Fae, and witches all mixed up with snarky, chaotic, misfit humans who just add more fun to the mix then this is your series. I strongly recommend beginning with Book 1 “My Commander” so you get all the inside jokes and understand the overarching plot line of the series. “My Solace” is Book 11 and takes us from Noctem Falls, the underground city of the vampires, to Eire Danu, the parallel universe city of the Fae. The most exciting piece of this book is the final reveal of the main character, Meryn’s, heritage. But all is not right in the Land of Eternal Sunshine. New connections are formed, old alliances renewed, and new friends made. This story focuses on Oron Vi’Eirson, unit warrior for Gamma Unit in the shifter pillar city of Lyconia, who is also the adopted son of the queen of the Fae. He meets his mate, Izzy Campbell, who is human, at the very beginning and they develop their relationship as Izzy becomes familiar with the realm of the paranormal and we discover she is very much like our beloved Meryn. She immediately fits right in with the inner circle of friends. You will not regret taking on this series. I promise it will become a must buy, can’t put down, part of your library as it has mine.

Befuddled

I enjoy Alanea's stories. Oron and Izzie are the newest addition. Plenty of laughs. However, this book felt harder to track the plot line. I love dialogue, but this book was almost entirely dialogue and it made it a little more difficult to discern what was happening in the timeline. I've honestly lost track of what exactly is going on. I'd like to see a strengthening and revisiting of the plot in the next book. And while enjoy Meryn, each book seems to be more and more Meryn-centric rather than the couple the book is supposed to be about. Everyone adores her. She's perfectly quirky and everyone fawns over her. For some reason, it's starting to wear out. Let the main couple of each book be the main focus. Having said all that, I was still very entertained and will definitely get the next book in this saga. 😊

Wow and then wow - loved this book

So where do you begin to review this book. At the start is when it all begun and for that you need to know Meryn. Everything we learn is about each mating and how Meryn fits into a puzzle that with this book just made some things so clear - and then makes you want the next book. Now I can understand the little wait for My Solace. When I started this book, seriously it felt like I came home. These characters are family to me. So reading about them made me feel all warm and happy inside. Ms Alder, that first chapter or two, had me in so much tears... and I was hurting inside (just letting you know). To see that emotionally Meryn has grown to allow her brothers into her heart - loved that. But also to see that a tiny "human" could bring together different supernatural beings, just amazing - that is one of Meryn's super powers. We already know Oron as he and Darian are brothers and children of the Fae queen. Oron has a dark past and with this book we learn a bit more. Do note that Oron is an honorable male - and I fell for him so hard, but Kendrick is still my man, oh and Law. Izzy is such an amazing woman. She is like our Meryn, she understands Meryn. She has good intentions, but sometimes it leads to not such good outcomes. I love the way she protects and love Oron, with no hesitation. She saw how people treated him and when she had the opportunity to confront them, well it was hilarious and trust me, Meryn was not very far from that scenario. The two of them (Meryn and Izzy) can't stay out of trouble. When you say don't do it, you just as well tell them they have to do it. That led them to an interesting path and well, while Ryuu is with them, Meryn is bound to be protected any way. We learn about so many things, Meryn learn about herself. She is definately more than anyone thought. Oron gets a few surprises. They receive special blessings and all those goodies. And regardless of all that, Meryn is still our little Menace. There are such a lot of revelations and new developments my head spun a bit. I loved this book and with each book Ms Alder just gets better and better. I love that with the delevopment of each bonding, the couple get they story while the true main character, Meryn, has her intricate story unfolding as well. And don't forget that her mate, Aiden, is always there for her. In the good, sad and crazy times. Such a good mate. And don't forget our handsome Ryuu that would protect his charge with everything in him. He is so amazing. We have so many of our older characters back and like I said, its like coming home. Keelan is not forgotten, ever. But he will get his chance, I believe in this. The fae is in for the ride of their lives! Meryn is there and nothing will ever be the same again.

Happiness is reading My Solace.

I so enjoyed my solace, but in truth I love all her books, they resonate in my soul. I smile so hard my face hurts and I laugh and cry and get to feel a happy innocent joy I haven’t felt in many years. I wait forever for her books to come out and always preorder well in advance. Then much to my own weakness I go and read the book in one day. I try to pace myself so I can make it last, but never succeed. I loved Oron and Izzy’s story, I had a soft spot in my heart for the huge fae warrior. Oron truly needed Izzy, her faith in him and her love and loyalty were what his soul craved and needed. He was what she needed, someone special who would accept her as she is faults and all. There are a lot of surprises I didn’t expect concerning merlyn and aiden and I loved how down to earth the queen and her mate were. I am already looking forward to the next book in the series. I will be patient and will read all the series again while I wait. Thank you Alanea for sharing your wonderful storytelling talent with me. Bless you.

Great Story

Izzy and Oron are two people that are broken, but when they're together they fit. The story made me laugh out loud at times. These warriors are fierce, loyal , honorable and total bada$$es. However, when they meet their mates they become the ultimate mushy alpha males. There have been some negative reviews about Meryn being in each and every book. I think she has to be there. Meryn grow up with a cold and unfeeling grandmother that treated her like she didn't matter. She had zero social skills and the only way she survived was by keeping to herself. Then she meets Aiden and the unit warriors and she is brought into a world where she does matter. There is a darkness that is spreading across the paranormal world. Each story in the series is a puzzle piece of what is happening. Each unit warriors mate is a part of the solution that could save their world. The ruling government of each paranormal city is so set in their ways that they don't see the danger until it's too late. Meryn gives them all a reality check. When the pressure and tension of the situation of what's going on affects them Meryn is the one that brings them back from the abyss. Each book is worth the read.

This was a great addition to the series!

This book was all in had anticipated for the next in the series and more. There was the fun and humor that those who have read the other books in this series have grown to expect as well as some clues leading us to what might be coming in future books. It was well worth the read! I highly recommend that anyone who has not yet read earlier books go back and start at the beginning because the series is very interconnected. My only complaint and the reason it received 4 stars instead of 5 is the mistakes in editing/proofreading. There were many very obvious mistakes in wording and punctuation that should have been caught. I have noticed this in the other books in the series, but this one was the worst so far in that respect.

Jumped the shark?

That phrase has always been confusing to me, but now I think I get it. When you let something go on too long or go too far with it. I’m determined to stick with it until Meryn 2.0 makes an appearance, but it’s tough. Too many characters, waaaay too may to keep straight. I see some type of family tree or something is coming, but the fact that you need one is telling. Why does every single person need their own story? It just feels like unnecessarily stretching it all out...and not for sake of the conclusion. Much was made of [whatever her name was. See? Forgettable really in the so vast Alder universe.]’s disastrous tendencies, but that just fizzled away and never became a central point at all. Enough already.

Loved Izzy and Oron. Looking forward to Ari Lionhart's story.

The series is amazing

I love this series and have read and reread it more times than I can count. I waited forever for this hook to come out. I'll be honest I was really disappointed... it felt like there was so much missing. Izzy is supposed to get into trouble according to her introduction but doesn't, Meryn is tame. It felt like a jump book... the kind you have as a precursor to the actual book. There was no real action or event or protagonist or anything in this book and felt about a quarter of what I have come to expect from this series. Every book to this point has pulled me in, let me learn about each new character thoroughly, how they think and respond .... how they move thru the drama of meeting their mate and another plot of this story. I'm just really disappointed with this book I'm the series. I had preordered it and when I read it and hit the end I had to go back to the store and make sure I hadn't gotten a teaser instead of the whole book. Praying that whatever changed with this book goes back to normal in any future books to this series.

Good stuff

4 1/2 stars My Solace is well worth the year-long wait. There is a transition period from Noctem Falls to Eire Danu as our travelers say goodbye to new friends and old, and then again as they meet the inhabitants and learn the ways of the Fae city. I appreciate the author giving the reader this time to acclimate to such a different environment before moving into the heaviness of the ongoing storyline of the reapers and all that entails. That said, I like the direction the author takes us in as Izzy, Meryn, and the gang explore and make their presence known to the less highbrow citizens of the city. They each say how much they prefer that area to the palace, and I also feel more comfortable reading about the "common folk." There are a lot of new secondary characters to get to know and whom I think could make a significant impact on the dynamics of the core group fighting the bad guys. I enjoyed getting to know Oron and seeing him grow and relax into his new reality. Izzy is a hoot, and she and Meryn are apt to get into more crazy situations as the series progresses. Seeing and hearing about all of the beloved characters of previous books keeps the threads joined, at least in my mind, and the tapestry the author is weaving gets more intricate at the turn of each page. I laughed, cried, cringed, and cheered. There is never a dull moment in My Solace, and I look forward to more from this author. *I would have given five stars, but there are some editing issues that should have been addressed. ;-(

Most excellent series!

I absolutely adore this series! The amazingly quirky characters, the adorable little creatures, and the coming together of a family created by diverse people bonding. Its heartwarming and hilarious. My only complaint is that this book was too short. I would've loved to read more of the forest, the other creatures and people who live in all three sections. Looking forward to the next book in this series, pls let it get published quicker, while keeping up the A-1 standard of writing as all her previous books. Enjoy!

I LOVE this entire series

I have been waiting for this book for so long. The main characters from all the other books are back (Meryn is my book hero). I love how Alder kept the series going further while still introducing new characters that makes the series feel current and not stale which can often happen with series that have this many books. The new characters are so much fun and keep making the series different while still staying true to its core story line. Like with all the women in the series, each new female is quirky, fun, and not scared to stand up for themselves and what is right. They are not meek, shy or able to be pushed around in away, they kick butt and fall in love at the same time. The men are strong alpha males who are not scared to admit they don't know anything and are complete softies for the ones they love. Even the side characters are funny and add so much to the story( where can I get my own sprite or brownie). I would give this book and the entire series a hundred stars if I could.

Couldn’t put it down loved the story

This series is great from the first book to this last one just released. I read “My Solace” book in it’s entirety the day of release. The author is able to introduce new characters (warriors mates) and still weave in details and updates on the other character from previous books. The written descriptions of the settings provided enough detail to allow my imagination to participate but not so much it slowed down the storyline. I was surprised by the emotion I felt in reading about a life event of Meryn’s. I love being drawn into the story by the author. I hope there are many more books to the series.

Rushed

This book seemed like it was rushed. In the previous books it explained each mate and how they ended up meeting their mate. In this book, it was dreamed and rushed through when they actually met. A lot of thing did not have any explanation. The baby mence is carrying keeps being referred to as them or they. Is she having twins? Normally when Ben came there would of been a charter of him hugging mence and him telling her what has been happening back home nothing........ The revelation mence is part fae and how she felt afterwards was rush. A lot of parts of this book seemed skimmed over. I love this series but this book was not in my top five

Good

So I was reading what others had put as their reviews and I can't help but agree. I preordered this book and have read all of them as they come out, however, I feel that the stories are starting to lose their luster. I love Meryn. I love that we have her in every book, but if we are going to see her more and more in each book, maybe the books should be longer to include more time with the main couple. I know how much work goes into creating a book, but I get the feeling that the only books the author planned were the Lyconia based ones. Those ones were more detailed and longer. A true plot played out within the pages. Now? Not so much. I felt like this book was rushed. And there was no real plot. There was no edging to the climax and besides Meryn's history coming to the forefront, there was nothing really tying the story together. I get that there will probably be more on what's been presented to us here in the next one, but it kind of had a flat ending. Nothing to really make me want to continue to the next book beside my own curiosity to see what plays out.

Nice intro to Eire Danu

I have been really excited to move on to Eire Danu, it’s not that I didn’t love the other two cities, but there is just something about the Fae that I love so much. Plus I knew their city was going to be super magical. This book was a really good opening to the city, and I’m excited to see where it goes from here. The things I liked: I really liked Izzy, she reminds me of Amelia and Meryn, but also in a unique way. She was so Uber protective of Oron almost right away and I loved that about her. She really was an act first ask questions later kind of girl. I also really liked the friendship she struck up with Meryn. I loved all the backstory in this book. We have always know something was different about Meryn, and in this book we finally get all the answers we were looking for. It’s both heartbreaking but satisfying. We already know Oron’s backstory, but in this book we really get a look at Oron’s pain, and how he sees himself, and it’s really impactful. The magic in this book was amazing, we was all the new races we get introduced to. We get to learn more about Sprites. We get to see brownies and Goblins and see what their culture is like too. We get to meet the super cool guardians, which was awesome. And I really liked the pub. Things I didn’t like: The queen bummed me out. Okay that’s not fair, she bummed me out towards the end, you’ll understand when you read it. Up until that point I really like her and her interactions and it’s clear she was a great mom and she’s a great ruler. Other than that I really have no complaints. Great start to these next couple of books.

This series just gets better and better

Strap in and get ready for a ride because holy guacamole does $#!t get real in My Solace! With the gang heading to the fae realm it’s very much a whole new world opening up. Faces new and old come together and jaw dropping revelations will keep you gasping and occasionally have you shedding tears. One of my favorite things about this series is how each book features a new couple but the overall story of what is happening with the ferals is still playing a HUGE part. It truly makes this an addictive series. Oron’s mate is someone we haven’t met yet, so I’ll keep things a bit vague. As River Song would say, spoilers sweetie. We don’t do those. She’s the perfect other half to Oron, seeing the real him that he just can’t see. Where he thinks she’s the light in his word she is determined to show him how he lights up the worlds of everyone he meets. They truly are the sweetest together. Of course there’s also no shortage of shenanigans, humor and beautiful loving family moments in this too. Oron’s mate and Meryn immediately connect and form a bond that results in all kinds of wonderful things. I’m now dying to go back and read the entire series all over again and cannot wait to see what Alanea has coming next!

Enough is enough

Seriously tedious. As another reviewer mentioned, you will get instantly lost without refreshing your memory about who the heck every one is, and yes, I've read them all. Reads a little too steam of consciousness, and needs more punctuation for coherence. And seriously, enough of the Meryn worship. Don't think I need any more of these - just wasn't any fun to read, and I felt like I spent waaaay too much on it as well.

A in between book

I have read this whole series and still love it but I have a complaint, I’m a kind of Dori, so I forgot many many of details exploited in the background plot, plus I have dyslexia and I mix up all the names. At this stage of the story, plus with a full year between this new book and the previous one, a chart of all the characters and how they are related to the others and who is what or whom would be of a very great help. Details came back to me all along my read Ming of the book but I first felt lost with so many protagonists, and by the end, I think I still missed some inputs. Few things to say about the romance as it is the insta-thing, just the change of scene is nice but my mind is already copying with all the new characters introduced. I might like Izzy, my mind might burst into flames! This new installment has all the usuals by Mrs Alanea Alder, humor, weird and cute creatures, yummy alphas and d0ucheb@gs and is still centered on Meryl. It was a fun addition to this series but it can’t be read as a standalone at the risk of being lost after only few pages.

The beginning of a new set

Yay more Bewitched and Bewildered and this time in Ere Danu. My Solace is book 11 in the series and the first book the next quintet. This is an amazing introduction into Ere Danu and an amazing continuation of the characters that are known and loved. Meryn's continues her antics but now in front of the queen of the fae and of course being with the fae opens up a whole new world of possibilities and problems. On the flip side we finally get some answers to the burning questions that have come up over the last 10 books. New characters and old make this a great addition to an amazing series.

So funny

This is a book I've patiently waited for. Questions of how Meryns scent was familiar was finally answered and im happy. Usually for me when the place in the book changes it feels like a tvseries moving sets and locations. The characters are the same but the mood of the show has changed. This is not the case with these books, the author has done an amazing job of introducing characters and places that the feelings these books bring is still the same. Funny, smart, unique, caffeine addicted women meets long lived, structured, strong men and messes up their routines. I was not disappointed by this addition and will preorder the next one when it comes.

It's a new adventure

This book like all the others in the series are me laugh... Anne then cry... And then laugh again. I loved it. I will say though, while I didn't find the book to be rushed (my personal opinion), there were A LOT of new characters introduced. It was a little difficult to keep them all straight. I can only guess that these secondary characters are important going forward in order to continue the story in the other four books. Time will tell, but it feels like we are gearing up for something epic in Eire Danu.

Wow!!!!!

I just absolutely loved it. It was hilariously funny! Now there are two Meryn to love. There were wonderful discoveries and more opening the magical world to what is important that had been misplaced through the ages. Meryn continues to amaze with her ability to “see” a patterns that had been overlooked bringing new insight to this magical world. As usual I can hardly wait for the next in this series, it has become a favorite I go back and reread continually. In fact if charged for each time I’ve read/reread it I’d be a whole lot poorer and Alanna Alder a whole lot richer and I’d still think it worth every penny.

WOW Great new addition to this series!

So loved this book. I am in awe of Ms. Alder. Her stories are so complex with a lot of characters, but at the same time so fun to read. The layers to the over all story are amazing. I love the characters & how she makes me giggle through out the book. She also made me cry this time. Such an amazing well written scene where Meryn's parent's story was revealed. It was great to see Aiden now has someone who can understand how it is to deal with some of the crazy mates can cause. I also loved all the new tiny additions to the families. PLEASE keep up the fabulous writing. I can't wait for more!

Amazing!!!

The newest addition to the series is just as wonderful as the rest!!!!! It is definitely a MUST READ!!!! Meryn is wacky as ever and is learning new things about herself....her past and her continuing to learn about what it is to have loving family and friends and believing in herself. If you haven't read the series I suggest reading from the beginning to see just how far she has come to being the person she is, the person she is meant to be. Join Meryn on her journey and meet the wacky, loving, supporting people she comes to care for and that care for her as well :)

Fun, but technique left much to be desired.

The usual from Alanea. A Fun read, and it defiantly had its hilarious moments. But so far this was probably my least favorite of the series, but more from a technical aspect then a story one. First what I liked about it: 1. The relationship between the two romance characters was different then in the other books which was a nice change of pace. 2. The female leads continue to be strong, inspirational characters. 3. It continues its tradition of geek based humor that keeps us in stitches. And thats pretty much where my praise of the book ends. Where I had problems: 1. Its starting to reach a saturation point with the number of characters, where I had to really knock my brain to remember who certain characters were and what relevance they had to the current plot line. Not to mention the whole new cast of characters making an appearance. Some of them getting nothing more than a casual mention where it really wasn’t needed. And many of them carbon copies of characters already in existence. Making the book more of an introduction then a story by itself. (Though sometimes thats needed, especially in what Is clearly going to be a rather extensive series). 2. It also had the feel that the author didn’t really know where she wanted to go, with numerous side plots and event filler that weren’t needed, and taking up page space that could have been used for better detail of the setting and better backgrounds and personality building on a smaller cast of characters. 3. Whatever editor or proofreaders she used really did her a disservice. I don’t expect perfection, and she’s had grammar and punctuation errors before, but they were really rampant in this release. There were other things as well but I don’t like to do spoilers. So mostly just remember as you read to do it slowly or I promise you will get lost. And take each scene as they come because if you try to string them together, they don’t always mesh well. Otherwise just remember to have fun as you read.

WOW

This series just keeps getting better and better. Oron's and Izzty's story was amazing, the plot and characters keep you sucked in from the first page to the final page. It was worth losing sleep for. Ms. Alder is an amazing author who has created some of the best characters and plotlines I have ever had the pleasure to read. From the first book until now in each book you are introduced to these amazing people who you wish were real, so you could hang out with them in real life. The characters become friends who you love to go back and re-visit time after time.

One of the best series I've read!!!

The Bewitched and Bewildered series by Alanea Alder is one of the best I've read and My Solace does not disappoint. I laughed, I cried, I laughed some more. I wanted to read this book quickly so that I would know what happened. But I wanted to read this book slowly so that I wouldn't miss anything and could savor each word. The characters in these books have become like family and although they aren't real, the feelings they evoke are. The only downside to these books is that now my Facebook friends seem pretty boring in comparison to the hilarity that is Meryn.

Good...But

I just love this series. Each book is filled with a new couple and a new development in their battle with the baddies. This story followed the usual format but it was not the same. It seemed to me that majority of the book revolved around Meryn and how she is connected to this supernatural world. It actually got confusing trying to keep track of everyone and their connections. Past characters were brought back and the dialog was laugh out loud funny. Not a lot of action. Oron and Izzie's story seem like an afterthought. They were cheated out of a book dedicated to their love story. It was too rushed. Izzie seemed like a watered down version of Meryn. She was funny, stubborn and lovable. But you really don't find out much about her past. Oron was too Meh for me. To me, he didn't fit. The continuing conflict with the ferals did not happen until around the 90% mark. It ends abruptly. The book also seemed shorter than previous books. Overall, I was a little disappointed. Waited about a year for this book and it didn't live up to the previous books.

Excellent new addition to the continuation of one of the best storylines out there!!!

You can't beat Alanea Alder for the interweaving of characters throughout this series! Hands down, she's a true artist in keeping you wanting more of them and adding new ones that you fall in love with to want more of, too. I've already read this twice and have started on the third round already. I've read and reread the others in this series more times than I can count. Ms. Alder is in the top of my favorite authors for a reason. Thank you, Alanea, for keeping us glued to your books and on pins & needles awaiting the next installment(s) of your many series.

Bring your tissues

This one had me crying and laughing then crying again. Moments were so poignant I did not know how to handle the feelings. I just finished reading the book two times to make sure I missed nothing. The newest city in this world has brought new and old together in the best way. We solve some of the biggest mysteries while learning just enough to make you crave more. Wonderfully written and excited to see Alanea Alder working at her best!!!

I didn’t think this series could get any better. I am so happy i was wrong.

I put off reading my solace. Not because I didn’t want to read it. But because i new that as soon as i started it, one I wouldn’t be able to put it down and two i would be sad to see it finished. I love all of this series and reread them quite often. Its Like visiting an old friend. What I wasn’t expecting was the high and low journey that this author took me on. Between crying through Orons history and laughing like a lunatic at meryns antics i was sad to see this book end. Knowing that I will have to wait for the next book to come out is torture. But totally worth it. If you haven’t read this series yet. You’re in for the ride of your life.

Amazing

Bewitched and Bewildered has been my favorite series from the start. Beginning with My Commander. My Solace is no different. We finally know Meryn's parentage and it was a wonderful surprise. I was glad to see Felix back in this book. I missed him in My One and Only. I do love the way Meryn grows in each book, but stays true to what makes her Meryn and with each book, I fall more in love with the characters. Ms Alanea Alder makes me laugh at Meryn's antics, but cry at the emotion that each character brings to their story. In this book, I loved Izzy and Oron...loved that Izzy was so protective of her mate. I can honestly say I loved everything about this book. No one will regret buying it, but to really understand everything going on, I would suggest starting at the beginning and getting My Commander.

"Something wicked this way comes."

Things ratchet up when Oron takes his new mate, Izzy, to Eiré Danu, the kingdom of the Fae. Izzy, who was immediately "adopted" by the infamous Meryn McKenzie, is overwhelmed by meeting her mate's adoptive parents, the queen and consort of Eiré Danu. She and Meryn soon proceed to break every rule of the land that they possibly can. Even so, they make new friends right and left. Unfortunately, "something wicked this way comes." This book is hilarious and scary and very romantic. Alanea Elder again creates magic.

Worth the wait?

We waited so long for this book. Well-it seems we did. We finally get a look into the Fae world. Finally. This book was calmer. More relaxed and with a lot of detail. A lot of family drama and hilarious moments. It was more chill but I feel we have to have a book where there is build up for the battle. We have that here. We met another mate and she is awesome. Oron gets his love and she is good for him. We learn new drama about the Menace and I love it. It fits. I am looking forward to the next set of books.

Wild ride in the fae city with Incredible information and twists revealed!

Holy crap! I've always enjoyed the series but man this one has to be my favorite. Parentage discovered, names revealed, and ladies kicking butt again! Ok i discovered it in my kindle **yes i forgot the date for release** about 8pm last night. I read that baby nonstop till 2am. I woke my son up laughing and giggling. Honestly its been a while since I read the noctem falls portion of the series and forgot some things. I just restarted the entire series in anticipation of this book and had only gotten to the 4th book in the series. Wow so many things make sense and more questions than before. Alanea is an amazing writer. Things you think are just crazy funny become crazier because some of what is said or just natural for the character is actually very important. Each new city reveals more importance and is bringing us to the core of the feral issues and beyond. The fae city is gonna be a wild ride!!

A few good bites, but missing the entre

As a few other reviewers have stated, this book answers some questions abt Meryn, but it has several minor flaws that keep it from being as well written and enjoyable as all the others. At times I felt that it way more of a way station stion, maybe even major train station! The coming and going of different characters, some new and some old, felt disjointed and disrupted the flow quite often. As one reviewer said, it seemed more of a filler in the story, and, as noted by another, way too short. I understand the focus on Meryn as she is the key piece in this, but felt more background on Izzy so we care abt her and get invested. The humor was there, the main characters we love, it just needed a bit more work.

More of a Background Story

I love this series, and love everything Meryn. This story clarifies Meryn's background and another warrior gets a mate. This book felt a bit rushed, and to be honest, there are so many characters from each of the other books that I had a hard time remembering who was who etc. There was a lot of background information, but the plot of the story never moved forward. Meryn is still pregnant. The ferals are still loose, yet we only saw a glimpse of them. After 11 books, I really need some closure in the plot line.

Yay!

Another great installment in the Bewitched and Bewildered series! Izzy and Oron make a great couple. They truly balance each other out. Izzy is a human and is thrust into the paranormal and Oron is a thousands year old fae warrior. We meet some new people and new paranormals and also are along for the ride with the awesome Meryn, her squire Ryuu, and of course her teddy bear of a mate Aiden. It made me laugh, but also made me cry. Alanea is truly gifted as an author. I can't wait for the next book!

My happy place!!!!

Oh happy, happy, joy, joy indeed!!! I've been waiting on pins and needles for this book to finally come out, and boy oh boy does it deliver!!!! ::::Bouncing up and down with glee::::: If you've not read any of this series DON'T start here. Please start from the beginning, you WON'T regret it 😊💗!! This book is filled with typical Meryn-isms , hijinx, adventure and a few MASSIVE reveals!!! My goodness, my jaw is still on the floor!!!! I'm oh so happy!!!!! Only downside is we now have to wait for the next installment muahahahaha. Run, don't walk to the start of this book. I for one may just re-read from book one again as each book brings me pure joy! I for one am 100% #TeamMenace 😊😊😊

Bewitched and Bewildered Keeps you on the edge of your seat

In the book 11 we finally find out why Meryl smells so familiar to the wolves and she gets to meet the queen of the Fae. As always and being Meryn her visit is at the right time. We are introduced to a new mate, Izzy, who is quite a bit like Meryn. A coffee fanatic and a bit of a walking disaster. The book ends with seemingly something not being quite right in the city of the Fae. Like the rest of the series this is a strong five star book. And now I can’t wait for the next one.

The books just keep getting better!

Every time I read a book in this series I think they can't possibly get better and every time Alanea Alder proves me wrong. My Solace answered so many questions and created new ones, it is an amazing story with several familiar characters and many new ones who I am looking forward to getting to know better. It seems unappreciative after the author's hard work in creating this amazing book, but I can't wait for the next one! In the meantime, let the re-read begin!

Awesome series

I love this series! Wish there was more to this story but i feel like it was just a introduction to the fae world so you basically just got a first taste and setup of this part of the series storyline. If it goes like the last part of the series their will be several books to go with the visit to this world. But im so impatient for more! I don't want to rush the author cause these books are perfection and I'd rather her take her time and not disappoint then rush just for us fans and not deliver like she's been doing. I literally went back and reread the series again before i started this new book cause its been that long. But it was worth the wait. Now I have to go find something else to read until the next one come out....which will probably not be until next year...sigh...i might just get stabby while waiting....

Great book for answers.

This is a great add on the the story, some questions got answered. But it didnt flow like the other ones. There was no big funny scene like all of the other books. Also no big fight scene. There was some "so that's why" moments. But for the most part it was very straight forward. He found his mate, they got together and that was it. Dont get me wrong love the serie, great to get some much needed answers but wish there was just a little more to it.

Okay

I was ready to be amazed by Eri Danu and felt kind of let down by the description, what there was anyway, of the city. Yes, the walkway sounds wonderful, but the city itself lack the build up of the 'City of Light'. The book it self was great and I really enjoyed it. Alanea Alder's books are always good, solidly written. The formatting was off, but it was still worth the wait. I only hope the next one comes sooner for the goblins sake.

Down the rabbit hole I go, again!

I really love how Alanea pulls you into her world and keeps you riveted in it with her humor and excellent storytelling. Each of the cities is like a mini series underneath the large story arc of the whole series. This is the first one of the third mini-series and again I am pulled in to what Meryn and the Unit Warriors are doing along with the main characters of Izzy and Oron's love story. Can't wait for the next installment of this story.

I will admit ...

I had a little hard time reading the first few pages ... But when I got comfortable ... I read 7-10 chapters between 12:30 and 5 a.m. I truly CANNOT wait for book 12! In the book itself there are 16 Chapters, but in the TABLE OF CONTENTS, there are THIRTEEN CHAPTERS AND AN EPILOGUE.

And I thought things couldn't get better!

Obviously, I am in love with the Bewitched and Bewildered world and the people that inhabit it. The characters are refreshingly real, deep, and different. The plots are complex and intriguing. And they are just plain FUN! After the long wait for My Solace, I was prepared for a slower paced book. Boy, was I ever wrong. My Solace started out at a 150 miles an hour and kept on accelerating. The main character Izzy was as quirky as Meryn in a similar vein, but definitely her own person. Amanda did a masterful job of deepening Oron's character that also deepened the plot. I would have given this book ten stars if I could; it was that good. I won't summarize the story because it would take to long, and I don't want to be a spoiler. Read the book. You won't be disappointed!

Love it!!

While I have enjoyed all the books in this series this one and the first one had been my favorite. There is just something about Meryn that keeps pulling me back to her. And while I am glad that each book is a different couple and they get their due diligence. I am great full for the time that is spent on Meryn. Please keep up up the good work and keep writing about this quirky little woman. She brings such joy. And out of all of the authors in my collection I find that I re-read this series the most. Well done !!

Bummer. This book does not deliver!

The end of book 10 set the stage for a great book 11. Right away I was disappointed. Slow and boring start. Everyone following this series wanted to start out where Book 10 left off. That did not happen until the middle of this book! I don't know what just happened, the story was so flat except for the big revel. The Queens character didn't seem well developed, so many random names. No real storyline. It just ended. How can anyone fail to develop a good story a fae city? Such a let down! The next book better redeem this crap story I just read. Was this ghost written? Meryn is getting cheesy lines latley.

Absolutely Captivating!

As more secrets are revealed you just can't help but wonder how a series this long can keep you as enraptured as it did since the very first book. Never will i tire of Meryn's shenanigans or her bond with Ryuu. Our new couple in this book brings fills voids you never realized existed. Makes the whole unit warriors families more solid. Each characters emotional struggles allow us to build a deeper connection into their world and lives. It becomes so tangible that you just dive into this story and are devasted when the ending arrives. You're only comfort... the knowledge there is a new book coming.

Grab the tissues! Ms Alder tickles your funny bone and tugs on your heart strings!

Attempting to review without giving any spoilers. Since the story is now going to a new city, you get a lot of new information. It is a little hard to keep up with all the new characters without going back over it again to keep them straight. I believe it feels a little rushed just because of so much new stuff at one time. I also believe that it won’t be like that in the next few books because of all the ground work laid in this book. I love how the books keep building off the previous ones. Ms. Alder’s stories are so intriguing. Some questions you have about previous characters are answered in this book, only to make your mind race with multiple new questions. Intriguing doesn’t cover it all. The characters draw you in. You can’t help but love them. Ms. Alder tickles your funny bone, and tugs on your heart strings. There will be tears from both sides of the emotional coin. I can not wait for the next books to see where this roller coaster of a story continues.

I love meryn

Okay, so as my header says I freaking love the hells out of Meryn, she's my home girl, but I was wanting to get into these new guys. This one had information that is legit badass, awesome, and with a bit of sadness from Meryns past. The thing is the story for the people who this part was supposed to be about kinda felt empty. Like they just didn't completely get to come out. Which is disappointing, because the girl seemed like she would have been fun if she had gotten a chance to shine. This book was definitely funny like the others, but I wish that I could have felt more from Izzy, and Oran. It's like they were just tossed in. When it should have just been given to two separate books or not even told, which saying really hurts me to say, because they were lovable characters.

Another winner!

This book like all the Bewitched and Bewildered books is story telling at it's best. The story and the characters take your mind, heart and soul on an adventure. They remind us that families are made from love and come in all shapes, sizes, colors, types and a of us come together to share the good, the sorrow and fight evil. This group of family and friends just do it with great humor, enormous love, strength, loyalty and a bit of magical power.

Meryn is so KICK*SS, amazing again

You know how when you wait for something time seems to go slower. Well it was worth a wait! Absolutely hilarious again! No wonder there are re-reading clubs that just read this series all the time. Most of my questions were answered. We now have a Coffee Goddess and an artist. I still wonder who will Ryuu end up with? Beautiful, insightful and so well written you feel like these characters are alive and just out of reach. Don't wait, just buy the book and thank me later :-)

My solace

This book felt super rushed. I’ve complained in the last couple reviews that I thought the main couple needed more focus and that Meryn was taking over but this book was really bad about it. It felt like Izzy and oron were an afterthought or side characters to Meryns story. I also thought there wasn’t a good climax to this book. Usually the main character has issues focusing on them but Izzy didn’t really have any issues other than spotting the shadow. That being said it was nice to finally have some questions answered concerning Meryn. I just wish it was done in a way where she didn’t steal the story. I liked getting more of an inside look into oron and his struggles with his family past. Izzy was pretty fun and I wish we got to know here a little more and experience her craziness more. I like that we were introduced to some new creatures. I also liked that we got some more hints about ryuu.

Love this book - Love this series

I love this series and the latest in series, My Solace, is such a great read, I read it in one day. The characters are fun but the arc of the series is pretty grim, and it is best to read the books in order to really understand what is happening and the dynamics between the characters. Sometimes the characters can seem to be very simplictic at times, especially in the earlier books but overlook that and enjoy the story. Also, some of the books end very abruptly but it is an ongoing series and the next book pretty much starts where the last left off, My Solace did end abruptly and I really hope the next book is on its way soon. To paraphrase Meryn (main character in the series) I need muh books!

Stupendous

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book! It broke my heart but it also made me laugh so hard I was crying and my stomach was hurting. Well written and edited. I finished it in just a few hours. This series is just so flipping amazing. Alanea has, snark, humor, geekiness, and tears of both sorrow and joy and writes these worlds that I just can't think of a good enough word for it's so good. Now to wait Lord knows how long for next book in series!! Alanea Adler I love you! You're my hero lol!

I LOVE this entire series.

I don't normally write reviews because I'm not good at it, but this series and author are wonderful. I have read every book by this author several times over. But this series is my most favorite and I can't wait for the next book to come out. My Solace follows the other books by making all the characters strong and loving at the same time. This specific books ties together unanswered questions that were raised in the previous books. I love how all the characters from the previous books are part of this book. Oron finds his mate and she shows him that he is better man than what he thinks he is and how much he is loved by those around him and his family. I don't want to give anything away, but it is a wonderful book. You should read the series from the first book My Commander to get the full background information.

COFFEE IS LIFE!!

OMG This was a great read.... I knew it would be so I took the day off just so I could read it without interruptions from work. I laughed so much in the middle of the night my husband thought I was losing my mind. I don’t know about anyone else but I highlighted and bookmarked so many pages it was ridiculous. I cannot wait for more from the “merriment menace” and the “coffee goddess”

Great story

I love this series. Can't believe I have been reading it for over 5 years. Please don't make me wait a year for the next one. I had to go back and read the whole series again to get back up to speed on what was happening. I think I have laughed more with Meryn's antics then I have with any other series. Love every thing about these books. Would recommend them to anyone. Keep them coming.

Hopefully build up to next book

So was so excited for this book since have read all the others and LOVED them. In this book was great to see the other characters and meet the new mate but felt like they never really got much of a story. Guessing and hoping they will have more as the story and books continue.

Finally! We learn about Meryn!

This is the book we've all been waiting for! We finally learn everything, almost everything, we've been searching for about who Meryn truly is. This book was freaking hilarious! I couldn't put it down and read it in only 3 hours! Meryn, I'm truly your Ride or Die Bitch, for life! Can't wait for the next one. Thanks Alanea for putting us all out of our misery!

Love Love this series!

This is a favorite! I love Meryl, the Menace, and all the others! The characters are the best, funny, caring and loyal. I feel like I'm reading about my best friends and I can't wait for the next one. This is about Oron, fae, and Isabelle, human. she meets him after burns down her workplace and then is kicked out of her apartment. She meets Iron, then Meryl and become one of her peeps and Coffee goddess. These books are so much fun!!!

Right in the feels

I highly recommend reading the entire series before this one to understand all that came before and understand the build up to this point. A lot of readers refer to this as a transition book, I agree, and also love it for that fact. I cried, I laughed, and I giggled like a little school girl all while reading this book the minute it was released to the wee hours of the morning. I've gotten several friends and family hooked on this series, there's just something about this series that draws you in and makes you wish you were part of Meryn's crew or at least a fly on the wall to see all this zaniness come to life. Alanea is one of the best author's I've seen at dropping hints (That you don't realize are hints) and foreshadowing. For those in her facebook group who like to theorize over each chapter, there's plenty of guesses that have turned out to be right, half right, and gloriously wrong. Please, please, if you like paranormal, geeks, and coffee , then jump into this universe with all of us.

Really getting good...

So Meryn and her entourage have made to the Fae pillar city of Eair Danu and Adrian's brother has found his mate. Since this book is the 1st book in the Fae city series, many questions are being answered regarding Meryn's past and new friends are introduced in the fight against their enemies. Already want the next book to come out but since I will have to wait I will definitely be rereading this book at a much slower pace to make sure I do not miss a thing.

Tedious read

Meryn is more and more ridiculous than fun, accomplishing either too much or nothing from novel to novel. Way to many introductions with to many characters to keep them all straight. These books are dragging out far to long to resolve any mystery presented in the original beginning. #1 who's doing it and why #2 Can Keenan be brought back already. Sometimes shorter reads can be just as satisfying as drawn out one

learn to edit, please.

Love the series but other than some cute parts, sweet parts and mystical parts...book eleven missed the mark. I was fed up with the fake responses. I appreciate the honest acknowledgement of crappy behavior seen in the other two cities...ALWAYS DONE/ACT OF CONGRESS TO Change ANYTHING as an excuse. How does the queen raise a son for 5000 years and somehow no one in her kingdom learn to like or trust him? Stupid plot. Editing is terrible with pronouns with sloppy work that created confusing paragraphs. And lastly, come on!! Never had so many bawling men in a book series. Give it a break.

Not long enough

I realise that we are moving to a new location with new characters but this felt too much like a 'set up' situation with not much meat to it. It was way too short as well I just got started and it was over. Of course I will be buying the next one but this one just didn't do much for me.

Great series

Just reread the whole series again and it was just as good as the first time. The mark of a great writer is the ability to make you care about the characters and she definitely does. Funny, touching, suspenseful and full of geeky references that make you laugh....not to mention the hunky love interests... all combine to make stories you want to read over and over again. Can’t wait for the next one!

loved this series

I loved this series. Loved it the second time as well. The twists and turns keep you at the edge of your seat while getting you invested in the different characters. You end up cheering for them when they win and worrying with them because their personalities pop! Loved the way the books meshed together and the detail in each. In this book alot of the storyline is tied together and you see how it all fits together.

Another fabulous Alanea Alder creation!

My Solace is another wonderful story from Alanea Alder. Not only was it time to learn more about Oron and for him to find his mate, but it was a lovely stroll through the history of the fae and their realm. I enjoyed the new types of paranormal beings that were introduced and the true joy exhibited by those who love with their whole being. Meryn gathers yet more friends and family in this story while defending them against evil. Fabulous.

Great Book

This was yet another great book from this author. She has a great way of writing. You are pulled in from the beginning and taken on a journey of finding love and finding your place in the world. There is so much humor in this book and the mystery continues. I can not wait to read the next book. The series is wonderful and I am looking forward to what comes next.

Totally worth staying up all night to read!

The author did not disappoint with this newest addition to her Bewitched and Bewildered series. We meet some new people and of course still have our old friends. It’s filled with Meryn moments and a lot of questions are answered while more are brought up. As always their is a HEA and the teaser of her next book. I can’t wait to read the next installment! But in the meantime I will continue to re-read the available books again and again.

Best series ever

From the first book to now they hold your attention. From book 1 to now I find myself rereading them and laughing out loud. Can't wait for the next book. The only problem is I hate waiting for the next book to be written and released. Keep up the fantastic writing! This series need to be read in order so you know who is who. Definitely a highly must read series. Please hurry with the next book!

What a great book!!!

I have read all of the Bewitched and Bewildered books I think anyone that likes to read will enjoy this series. The characters almost seem real, but most imply they make you want to read more about them. I waited for Solace impatiently. I want the next book now. If I could I would have Ms Alaner write only Bewitched books!!!! I think they are wonderful!! I am sorry some people that revise this book seemed to be disappointed. I was not!! Thank you for using your gift of writing.

Amazing

For a book to make me this happy, and have me crying, then laughing.... its just amazing at its own way. I needed this boost of optimism. I needed the story that makes you wanna read it in ine sitting. And these books, this series is just that and everything I had not asked for. Pick these up. You will enjoy Merlyn the Menace 😉

My favorite series!!!!

Meryn is back. With lots of family news. Traumatic revelations for everyone. She makes new friends and as usual her insight is amazing. Isabelle is tossed into the new world harshly. Oron carries a heavy weight and guilt from his family. He is very insecure. Izzy helps and defends him fiercely. I love it. Trouble is brewing in Erie Danu. Please hurry up with the next installment.

Who is Emmy?

First off, I really enjoyed this book. I've been waiting months for it to come out. But it feels like the author just decided to put out whatever she had done when she realized how long she had gone without releasing the next Meryn book. There is no real ending, it stops on what feels like the night before a major battle. Maybe she forgot to include a few chapters? This book also had a problem with consistency. The biggest example is Emmy. This book says she is Colton's younger sister and kind of made a big deal about her. But she is never once mentioned in the other 10 books! Plus, in the 5th book it explicitly says that Colton has no siblings! In conclusion, this was a fun and welcome installment in the story of Meryn but it leaves me with 2 big questions. Where is the rest of it? Who the heck is Emmy?

My solace

Is that all. I wanted all the bad guys to get their come up ins Is there another book in the making? I thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of them. I'm not ready for it to end. I wanted to meet the babies. Pip never got back with Meryn. Too many unanswered situations. If that's all you have I LOVED it all. Mkh

A little disappointed

I was a little disappointed about how short the book was. Storyline was good just the length wasn't good. There was also a delay to get to the fairy realm and I feel like that was a let down as well, because without that delay the book would have been a lot shorter.

One of my favorites from this series! Spoilers!

What do you get when you have 2 Meryns, 3 fairies, and a brownie? One very hilarious paranormal romance! Izzy is a lot like Meryn and they get thick as thieves to create chaos in Eire Danu with Oron as her mate, who is even more gentle with her than Aiden is with Meryn, you have a heartfelt, charming, funny romance that keeps you interested in the main story line.

The unraveling ,color me impressed

Once again another masterpiece from Alanea. I love how she’s revealed Meryn’s past and who she was and was meant to be in this newfound world of hers. I like that she has someone to cause mischief with. I like how Alanea has presented our heroines taking their place in the story but also at the same time allowing our heroes to have their day. Can’t wait to read Ari’s story.

The fun continues

Finally here!!! I love this series so much that the wait for book 11 was frustrating. I liked the connection between the main characters - past and present. It’s fun to get another crazy mate to keep Meryn company. Izzy was a hoot and fit perfectly with the serious Oron. I’m glad to see them get their HEA and just hope book 12 is in the works!!

Original Fantasy a Bookworms Dream

I can't just rate this book but the whole series. All characters are described well. This is one time I really like series type of books. I enjoy seeing all the characters appearing in all the books with a storyline you follow thru the common feral problem . I have got to read until storyline is finished. Can't wait.

Another awesome book in this series!

I don't normally do series. I hate the wait till the next book. But this series is totally worth waiting for. The main character Meryn is a hoot! Then add in few other assorted zanies and you have a recipe for hilariousness! The book has a serious side to it as well. A bit of a mystery and suspense, as well as shifter, fae, vampires, and other supernatural characters. It definitely is a must read.

Wow

That went FAST! DANG IT! I couldn't put it down! I laughed and cried, and we FINALLY know where Meryn came from ( tears at this part) You know how you wanna read slow and enjoy it but you just gotta know, an now its over and you wanna go back and want to pretend you hadnt read it so fast. Anyways another great book to add to the series

My Solace

Once again author Alanea Alder wrote a fantastic book. She is able to capture the imagination of her readers. Once you start reading you can't stop. As the reader you become completely engulfed in the story as if you are actually part of it I highly recommend to everyone to read the Bewitched and Bewildered series.

Worth the wait!

It may have taken longer than usual for this latest addition to the Bewitched and Bewildered series, but it was so worth the wait. It is full of laugh out loud, spit take moments alternating with sweetly touching scenes, edge of your seat suspense and steamy romance. Add in some startling revaluations and you have the perfect book!

Warning!! These are not stand-alone books!

Yes each book has a different couple, but (at least in my opinion) the real story is (and will always be Merry) the book is the continuation of what is happening in the paranormal world, and even though the main couple has a happy ending, the overall situation ends on a cliffhanger

OMG

I love this book and the entire series. It just keeps getting better and better. This book answers so many questions but also leaves more to be answered. I need the next book already! This book ( all books in this series) are hilarious with the right amount of suspense. Bravo Ms Alder!

Another book, another place

This book took use to the fae city with the main story of Oron and Izzy... Lots of small subplots that keep of guessing and always Meryn in the Middle!!! Love all the new characters and creatures seeded here, suspenseful but laid back in this one. Still kept my interest piqued,,,lots of substories!

Wow!!!

If you haven’t been following this series you are missing out. As each unit warrior finds his mate the idea of family grows to fight things unseen. This book answered so many questions about Meryn I read it twice to be sure I had all the details. Looking forward to the next book when another lion hart gets his mate

Missing something

I am always excited to read more Meryn adventures. I was disappointed this time as I felt like Izzy got short changed. There is usually more back story on the heroine and I missed knowing where Izzy was coming from. There was a great addition to Meryn's history and I always look forward to the next one!

Loved it

The book was absolutely amazing wacky like normal love all the characters can't wait for the next this one did seem a bit short though for some reason but I am ecstatically waiting for the next book I love how all the characters come together and if you ever need a pick me up to laugh this is the series for you

Izzy and Oron

This series just get better, I had all the books. I After reading them again I found parts I missed. More questions but a lot laugh out loud moments. Story is original but you have read from first book to completely understand. Your be hooked and fall in love

Best book yet!!!

I have been reading this great series for awhile, always waiting for the next book. Well Alanea you outdid yourself with this book , revealing a lot of background information, and pulling the story line together. My only regret is it should be longer, but then again I'm a fast reader! Hurry up with the next book! I loved this book!!!!

Bewitched with Alanea Alder!

I am dragged further into her web with each new book in this series! When I see the latest arrival on my Kindle, I immediately return to book 1 and start the series all over again - just so the entertainment anticipation will grow before reading the newest story. Alanea has once again outdone herself in the story continuation... and I eagerly await the next book!

Spoilers

Only Meryn would have pretty much unlimited access to everything and would only ask for meat kebobs. Meryn’s present was very thoughtful. Meryn now has her own barista, very nice. I love the baby Felixes. So Meryn is also part fae, of course she is. That was a very emotional scene. Her grandmother was to her what Smelly Gabe was to Percy and the Dursley’s were to Harry. Of course Meryn’s dad would be just like her, and it would explain why she doesn’t necessarily enjoy the “sun” of Éire Danu.

As always, Fantastic!

Love ,love, love this series! This insane group of people are so entertaining. This book finds us in the land of the Fae and Meryn finally meets the Queen. Amidst all the craziness we find out who Meryn's parents are. This book is packed with old friends and new people. It is a must for fans of this series. Enjoy! 💚💜💛💙👍

Lots of fun .

If you like women who have really irreverent personalities this book will tickle your funny bone ! The things they get into are not so normal but , in this new world , who wants to read about normal ?! I'd rather stay away from the real world while I read .

I enjoyed this book

Always a pleasure to read about Meryn and her antics. Adding more characters like her is adding more fun. The story line continues and it is a wonderful plot. I want Meryn to have her baby already, please don't let this series end. It is my favorite, I highly recommend it.

Amazing!!!

Another great hit for Adler! Meryn is by far my favorite character and her antics have me in tears every time! Yet another wonderful story full of strong female characters and the alpha men that they bring to their knee!

What about the main couple.

It kind of feels more and more like what are supposed to be the main couple in this series are only footnotes. This book felt less like a love story for Izzy and Oren and more like the latest installment of the Meryn saga with Izzy and Oren as a side note thrown in. All these incredible revelations about Meryn with some scraps for the main characters, it was kind of a let down.

Excellent addition to the series

I've been waiting for this book and it answered a lot of questions I've had. Meryn as always, is a hoot and Izzy is fun. I'm not sure about the end, it didn't really feel like a stopping place but that might be because I really wasn't ready for the book to end.

Love love this series

These books release and my daughter and I race to read them and highlight the best lines. We finish in a few hours with interruptions to eat. This story is so complex, peeling back layers slowly drawing you in. The entire cast of characters feels like family. I love each new edition but dread the time when the story ends. I can only hope the children of these amazing characters carry on in a new series.

Wow! Just wow

I loved the quirky female main character that appears to be another partner in crime for Meryn. Some unanswered questions are answered! We finally find out what Meryn is and more of her story that even she didn't even know😁 It another was incredible book, just like every other book in the series! It was worth waiting for 100%! Keep writing Alanea Alder and I will right there to buy the books the second they're released

Absolutely Bewitching

I have been going through a a very rough time the past few months, crying to the point my eyes were almost swollen shut. These books ( Meryn) have brought me back to life and reminded me that being broken can be a good thing. This series has made me laugh when I didn't want to and love when I thought I couldn't. There are no words to describe my appreciation for these books. They are indeed magical and I couldn't stop reading them. I am forever in your debt. Thank you for amazing stories that brought a broken woman back to life one story at a time. Shannon Storey

Ride or Die

I love this series for all the ups and downs you will feel like you want to join in on the journey. Thank you for taking my mind on this beautiful ride of love , laugher and kick ass ladies and fine ass heros to fantasize about..😁

New worlds, new disasters to cause

I was concerned that the series may lose some luster moving on to a new area...I am so so glad i was wrong. We're at book 11 and still cranking out hilarious scenes while pulling the new local into the series. If you haven't read the previous books it definitely isn't helpful, but you could pick this one up as a first timer and still laugh and cry through the story. Great love scenes but so much more to it than that.

My Solace

Again, Alanea Adler has me laughing out loud ! My Solace continues the Bewitched and Bewildered series in awesome fashion. I've read this series several time and enjoy it more each time! If you haven't you really need to get on board and join the fun!! Thank you Alanea!!!

Always a winner

I loved oron and Izzys story. I don't know if read too fast but the story built quickly. I enjoyed how the family was revealed. I'm glad the story included not only previous characters but new ones also. No one's personality was dimmed to changes the characters flowed wonderfully.

Always amazing

As with the entire series, this one did not disappoint. Laughing, crying, and all emotions involved as always. Alanea can spin a tale worth reading over and over again. If you can read, read it. You will not be disappointed. I can guarantee you get hooked immediately. But start with book one. If you have read them all and your curious before you buy it... just buy it dude. So good! As always, this was totally worth the wait. Thank you Alanea!

Wow

Wow simply amazing,, another awesome page turner to the end. I can not wait for the next book. Izzy was so much like Meryn it was wonderful to see them both be crazy together and drive their mates nuts. Keep the stories coming a converted fan for life.

Finally some big answers...

It was a nice addition. Big revelations, new place, new people, sadly once again the repetitiveness took away from the experience.

Great addition to this collection!

Another great read. As usual too short but all great stories are. I love theat Izzy is sooo. Just like Meryn. And now we found out so much about her. Wonderful addition to the collection. I would definitely recommend it to others as. A must read. This is one of the best world building books I have come across in a long while. I do look forward to when they come out in audio however. I gave this one 5 stars because Ms. alder never fails to make me laugh out loud while reading about Meryn and her antics. Enjoy!

Amazing read could not put down

I completely loved this book, it made me laugh and when we learned about some key points I downright cried I have reread this book more then 2 times already and every time Makes me laugh and cry I am so In love with this series I keep rereading this series over more then once I co can’t wait for the next book

Great New Book for the Series!

It was worth the wait. Great New start for the next arc. The beloved characters are now in the fae town Eire Dua. It answers some question you have been waiting for but with all of these books new questions come. You better buckle in because this book takes you on one emotional rollercoaster and at the end of the ride you are more the ready to go again.

Great series

Love this series. I can’t wait for the next book. It is amazing that the series still comes across as fresh as it did in the beginning. I tend to get bored this far into a series, but I still can’t wait for the next warrior to find his mate.

Another fun ready

Ok, so I wait and then I even discipline my self, and try not to read it all in one sitting...EPIC FAIL. That being said, I'm ready for a map and character association. Because writing a book takes some time, I often have to back and re-read the previous couple of book, I know first world problems. That being said, I can't WAIT for the next one. Thanks Ms. Alder!

good but...

i want to start out saying the book was okay....but it was missing it's normal fire. It to me left me hanging, as long as we have to wait for each book I was left disappointed. Now there were a good amount of questions answered but that was it, I guess it was just uneventful .

Don't drink and read at the same time! Bubbles BURN!!!!!

I dearly love this series! It was a bit shorter than her normal books in the series, but I honestly think that is because of the sheer amount of revelations that take place in this one. While I would have loved to have the book a little more fleshed out and development for Izzy's character, I think we are going to see great things from her in future books! The groundwork had been lovingly laid for a bright future in Eire Danu!

Shape shifters, magicians, vampires and elvish in a whole new light!

I love this series of books. All of the bewitched and bewildered books are good. You have humor, action, mystery and more. I love the characters, each book adds more to the ongoing story. I just wish they would come more often. More books--- Please.

A complexly entertaining Series of Must Reads!

What’s not to say about this series. It is wonderfully complex but not confusing. This book answers that burning question of who’s Meryn’s dad? I can’t wait for more books in this series and by Alanea Alder!

Shit!! 😍

Wow! I mean, just wow! How you make me laugh and cry so hard in just a few chapters is beyond me.. I love Izzy's personality and the dynamics of the series.. 😄 the sarcastic humor is also my cup of tea and I can't wait to see what happens next.. ☺️

Great book

Got up at 6.30am and boy was I glad I had taken the day off because once I started inhaling.... erm I mean reading.... I couldn't stop to save my life. The only thing I hated was that I could not go on to the next book. I want to know what happens next so bad. The only thing that does start to kind of bother me is the lack of a glossary. There are so many different characters that I'm starting to lose track of who is who.

Loved it

Loved it and it fit in well with the rest of the series. Really enjoyed getting to see more of Orins and Darians backstory. Now I can’t wait for the next book. The mark of a great writer- you buy their books as they come out and then anxiously wait for them to complete the next.

I laughed, I cried, I laughed again!!!

This story was truly worth the wait. The interactions between the characters continue to enthrall me !!! I cried heartbroken for Meryn but I also cried in out loud laughter at her modern day phrases; "ride or die bitch" " he almost got shanked", etc!!! 😂😂😂

You have done ✅ it again

I feel in love with the first book in this series and yet you still keep surprising me. But with this one you have rise the bar. Bringing in another menace I love it. Can’t wait for the next one love you always.

WOW

I Loved it, Finding out about Meryn's heritage was mind blowing. Would love to get more of the spirit douche bag eating crow when he finds out that Felix did not dishonor his family. Like the fact that most side characters you meet that takes a liking to Meryn are in the circle of peicing her life

She does it again

Each book in this series keeps getting better and better. I can't put them down!!! Trust me when I say you will get sucked into an incredible world of magic and your only regret is that you can't actually go there. So excited for book 12!!

Izzy!!

Oh I loved this book!!! Oron deserves his HEA! Well atleast what happiness is found until we find out what the hell is coming..... and the secret of Meryn made me cry.... and also made me smile... Felix rocks and Ceelee is adorable!

Love love Ms. Alder

Darn! Just finished reading book #11 and I read it too fast. Now I have to wait I don’t know how long for the next one. Please Ms. Alder give us the next one soon. I laughed so hard with Meryl and Izzy great pair!

Gorgeous, brave heroes

I read the books in order. It was helpful knowing what had already transpired. And I wouldn't want to miss even one sentence of the fun, pranks and mystery of each book. I couldn't pick my favorite hero in these books. As I read each book, that warrior becomes my favorite, until I read the next book, and get introduced to the next warrior, and have a new favorite. Only one thing would make them better, and that is if Ms. Alder released them a little quicker.

I’m beyond impressed!

I honestly didn’t think it could get better or funnier. I love admitting how wrong I was. I’m not sure how she is picking the next couple but I’m super excited to see what’s next! Without question you need to have read the other books, but so worth it. I had to set my tablet down multiple times from laughing too hard.

Fae City and Fun!

We get to meet the Fae queen, see houses with trees through them, and real family trees with their family spirit! Sexy goblins and brownies, on my. Story line here slower but family connections established. Lots of fun as our girls fun amuck.

Absolutely fantastic!

My Solace was everything I hoped for and more! Answers to many questions, shenanigans, family, new family and so much more! Each book in this series surpasses the one before it! By 33% I had laughed so hard I cried so many times. And let me tell you that one of the secrets that is revealed reduced me to a blubbering mess. But it was so good!

Love this world of Merytopia! :)

Another win by Alanea... this world just gets better and better. I love how she keeps building on the characters we already know and love while introducing new ones with each book. I consume her books almost as quickly as coffee...I need a coffee god and goddess like Meryn has!

More Please!!!

From the moment this book downloaded on my Kindle App I did not put this book down. I read it in two hours. TWO HOURS. I laughed, I cried and had a coughing fit from laughing so much. Meryn and the rest of the characters (new and old ones) did not disappoint me. The only disappointment? I ran out of pages!!!! Alanea Alder- You are amazing. I can only hope to write something like the experience your books have given me. Please keep it up! I’m waiting, slightly impatiently with my coffee for the next book. (Bzzzzzzz)

Menace’s Origin Story

You might think this book is about Izzy and her new fey mate but you would be wrong. They only serve as a backdrop to the real plot about Meryn. It was worth it for those big reveals but the mates that should be the stars of this story are basically phoned in. 3.5 stars because I was disappointed.

Best series ever!!

I cannot say enough about this series. I love the way Alanea Alder brings humor and heat to these stories. Meryn is an absolute trip but I loved Oron and Izzys story. A lot of questions were answered but noe there are new questions. Can't wait for the next book!!

Love, love, love it!!!!

This is one of my all time favorite series. It is beautifully written with mystery, romance, comedy, tragedy and good vs evil. I love each new book and every new development with these beloved characters!

Never disappointed!!

Absolutely amazing, once you start reading you are thrown into this amazing world with relatable funny engaing characters. This book has made me laugh, cry, worry, and sad when it ended. I love love love this serious and have reread all the books many times. This one definitely shows alanea alder as the amazing writer she is and I can not wait untill the story continues. Read this and you will not be disappointed!!!

Another Awesome One

I absolutely love this series. I believe that I have reread the entire series at least 6 times. Every time I reread it, I fall more I Love with the characters, storyline and can't wait for the next book.

Forward plot movement

Lots of revealing news and a new pairing. Definitely an emotional story. Oron is another hurt child working out family issues as an “adult”. I really wanted a bit more length to the book.

Remains my favorite series

Yes ... this book builds the foundation for Eire Danu story arc. Some people obviously expected something different. Howeve I feel this was an excellent beginning to the next “world” Meryn and company are moving to. I am desperately waiting for the next story!

My Solace

Oh my goodness I absolutely loved My Solace! Meryn has finally received some very important news about her family that we have all been waiting for. I cried and laughed multiple times throughout the book. I could not out of down. Loved the new characters (Creelee) sooooo freaken cute💖. This definitely is a must read series.

Amazing!

I truly appreciate all the time and love you out in each book. As usual I went through every emotion, with laughter being the dominant one. You Alanea Alder are truly gifted! Thank you 💕👏👏👏

Another great book.

I have been reading Alanea Alder since day one and this book has become one of my favorites. I laughed and cried reading this story. The characters and storyline are so endearing. I would suggest if you are new to the series that you start from the beginning. You won’t want to miss any of it.

The Box!

I love this world, these characters and this author. I want the short story about Colton’s cousin. That was the only bit that made me feel like I was missing something.

Love a hug

Omg! Loved this & all your books ! Really loved Felix finding his brothers & the brownies & demons, I laughed & cried. Loved that Meryl found her family, great characters and stories, can’t wait for next book ❣️

Bloody Fantastic

The world building is great as we get to visit the Fae city. Questions were answered in regards to certain characters, several omg moments. I devoured it in four hours and am already waiting for the next one!

Once again.

I absolutely love this series. I love all the chactors.. These are my friends now and I care very much what happens.. The plot is so spellbinding. I nearly cry when a book ends and I have to wait!!!! 💜

This series!!!!!!

I am devastated to say I read all 12 books in less than 10 days and I know the wait for the rest of the books is going to take years. I am not one for read a series unfinished but this one is worth it. I have loved every character as family and love the world Alanea Alder has created. Her series is a mush read!!! I highly recommend it. I dont put in recommendations often unless they become my top 5 author's and she is now!

AMAZING! Each book gets better and better!

I love this series so much! Alanea is an awesome writer and I look forward to all the future books in this series. Anytime I am in a bad mood or just down about something, all I have to do is read one or remember parts and I'm happy and laughing again. Get these books and read them! You will enjoy every minute!!!!

Each book gets better and better.

Reread all the Bewitched and Bewildered series before reading this book. Alanea Alder rocks. Love how Izzy is so much like Meryn. It is great how everyone helps Oron see his true self. Now just need the next one ASAP.

No Regrets

This book was great. I love this series so much. I spent all night reading since I could not put it down. The only downside is now I have to wait (im)patiently for the next one. Lol. Thanks for another great book Alanea.

Love

Love reading about the warrior and their mates, love seeing Meryn craziness and how her craziness and cookiness drives Aiden more than a little crazy.

Five stars, loved it

Loved this book. Izzy was a hoot, she and Meryn are hilarious together. Oron and Izzy, loved them. Many questions are answered, more questions are raised. Alanea has another home run.

Not a comedic as the previous, a lot of background for Meryn's family history

I am glad to get some answers to things I have questioned for a while. But I am a little disappointed in this book. It is as another another reviewer said, more of a transition than a full on book like the previous. Still funny and emotional, but the true slapstick comedy was missing. Still waiting for the next book, though!

My Solace

Another awesome book. Eire Danu is a going to be a fun city. I’m glad we got answers to Meryn’s past. Definitely a great series to read. It will make you laugh and cry.

Fantastic books

Absolutely love this series! The characters development is off the charts. I love each story and how she keeps it connected with the previous books. I look greatly forward to the coming books. Great series!

Meryn LOVES the Goblins...

I enjoyed this book. Some pretty heavy bombshells were dropped. LOVED Izzy...not sure I liked where it ended but that is still OK. WANT MOAR!

alanea alder has written another master piece

love, love, love this book it was awesome only sad part was when I read the last page. this author has a true gift in storytelling, each book in the series just gets more awesome as each new book is unveiled. hears looking forward to the next book in eager anticipation, well worth the wait.

Another home run with this book!

Every book in the bewitched and bewildered series always bewitches me! Waiting for the next book is torture, but I love this series. Always makes me laugh out loud. Truly a gifted author and always has great books. This series has become my favorite that I must reread!

Love this series!

I can’t put these books down. Meryl is such a great character and brings everyone together. Although I felt this one was rushed and too many characters all at once. I still loved it and can’t wait for more!!
