Simple, useful advice!

This book has great advice and tips for maintaining & thriving in sobriety -- whether you are a few days in and just trying to make it through the day, or a few years in and searching for ways to make sober life more fun and comfortable, this book has something to offer! The advice is simple and practical. Highly recommend!

Big Book's Companion

I feel this book is an excellent companion to the 'Big Book" of AA. This book goes between the lines of the Big Book, in helping people new to recovery, and gives in sort of easy layman's terms what happens in early days of recovery. It is a simple guideline of subjects related to the Big Book, after the first 164 pages, you find stories written by folks who have been sober for a few years. It helps gain some strength & hope that the AA 12-step program does work.

Nice read for those in AA or supporting someone in it

Most people would agree that Alcoholics Anonymous has helped loads of people. As AA would say, over two million members to date are active in the fellowship. Living Sober provides some concepts which should be familiar to the alcoholic but serves as good reinforcement. The person who isn’t an alcoholic would learn how to support someone that was. Living Sober can provide some deeper insights into what would be good for the alcoholic life. I feel it may lack in some ways because years have passed since it has seen a revision. Nevertheless, it is a 5 Star book because of the content and it serves me well in my recovery to touch base on things here and there.

If you want to help, but don't know how, buy it. At least you care and want to help.

I bought it for my daughter. She opened it, said thanks, got a hug. Haven't seen it since. But she's not drinking either. So I don't know. its been over a year and a half.

It's a way of life - live it!

Drinking isnt the wrong life style for everyone. If you're reading this book then you've come to know something about not always enjoying your current life style. Living Sober is a path that is relatable, frustrating and eye opening to the huge potential you have to offer others through gaining an awareness of your own worth.

Living Sober, Really Living

My favorite recovery book because I didn't know how to live sober. This book offers tips on living clean and sober, methods AA members have used for not drinking.

Everyone should have this book!!!!

Every person in recovery should have this book!!!! it’s one that you can read over and over again and go to certain sections when you need a little help- through the day, through events, social gatherings, or just when you’re by yourself in the moment!

an oldnfriend in ebook version

I bought the eBook as a supplement for my e library. I take my device to mtgs and am able to carry many pounds of books with ease now. My 3rd sponsor used to chair a MTG that focused on this book, and I have fond memories of this book in early recovery. It has good advice for the newcomers and old timers. I can pull it up diuring times of crisis, and even enjoy an essay during times when I am not in crisis.

Will give you tremendous insight

In recovery, I have found these subjects very thought provoking and would recommend this to anyone who really wants to know what comes next within the program. I’d also recommend it to anyone who may not be an alcoholic to better understand some of the gears in an alcoholics mind. Good luck either way, take it one day at a time.

New Lifestyle

This is one of the classics for learning to live a new lifestyle of sobriety. Suggestions for creating new habits and insights for handling possibly difficult situations.

Highly recommend this book for new comers to the AA way of life, and old timers who might need to be reminded of "what it was like".

Living a sober life

this is an indispensable book for people in recovery who are learning how to live life on life's terms without demon alcohol

Living Sober

I'm still in the process of reading this book, but I like what I'm reading so far. It tells about eating something sweet instead of reaching for a drink. I never ate sweets when drinking, but I sure do now! It talks about calling someone befor you take that first drink, it uses slogans of AA like"First Things First, and Easy Does It". Going to AA meetings is a must! And don't make up excuses for not going. This book is a must read book if you are an alcoholic.

Comfort and information at last

I am so thankful to the author for writing this book. I finally have information that does tell me "I'm not crazy" and informs me way beyond what I had hoped on the problem. I feel I can live with my situation now and have hopes for some life for myself without the constant absorption of someone else's situation. Plus I can be more understanding with the affected person because I have a better understanding of how things happen and happened.

AA Support Book

Great read, great value and great size. Thank you.

Works for Me

I've read a few negative articles about Alcoholics Anonymous, and I've yet to go to a meeting myself, but I have to say that this is helping me with my drinking "issues." If you have some problems with your drinking, you can open this book and feel as if it was a long letter from a long lost friend who knows the same problems with drinking as you. It helps.

Great book!

This book is full of straight forward suggestions for how to live one day at a time. Practical and simple.

Great for keeping your head in the right place

Great for keeping your head in the right place. Relatable. Don't drink. Go to a meeting. When you are home alone with your thoughts AKA -"behind enemy lines" it's great to have some personal stories with actual "how to" coping skills for all of us to apply to our lives no matter how long we've been sober.

Every bit helps

A must have addition for any newcomer to AA and for anyone who wants to lead a sober life or is curious about sobriety. It's not always easy that's for sure. Living life without alcohol is way more difficult than simply not picking up a drink.

The book was used but looks like new.

Page turner.

A morning must.

Love this book for practical insight. Brings smiles and out loud involuntary belly laughs. Am reading again and plan to read a small section each morning as I get on with my day.

A gift that was loved!

Great read, great gift

Good description of issues and solutions for living clean, sober

After addicts/alcoholics/compulsive eaters put down their drug of choice, they are faced with problems of how to continue to stay sober, clean and abstinent, depending upon their program. This has many short articles by recovering alcoholics about living successfully and staying sober. But it can apply to any program.

Awesome Book!

Anyone who has ever been in Rehab, recovery, knows those first few seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks and months are hard staying sober. This book is immensely helpful. When I came out of Rehab, I carried this book in my purse with my AA book whereever I went. I still refer to it if I need to. One Day at A Time....

Easy read with useful tips.

Love this book. It's full of great, practical advice on navigating a life without alcohol.

Good reference book.

Gratefully affordable.

12 Step

Living with the 12-step tradition is enhanced by this book. I would recommend it to anyone who has an addiction, whether or not they attend a 12-step program. I liked the 12-step program I was in, but I finally stopped going because it was so facile. The 12-steps are not for everyone.

A staple for addiction recovery

Really helpful book

A great aid for sponsorship

In an effort to give back something to the Fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous, I devote a good deal of time to sponsoring newcomers. This sponsorship relationship is aimed -- primarily -- at helping the newcomer work the 12 Steps of the program. This excellent book -- on the shelves of many, many sponsors -- is aimed at helping the newcomer in those critical early days. Loaded with tips, suggestions, and just plain comment sense about how not to pick up that dangerous first drink. A wonderful assistant to the sponsor helping the newcomer. Gary P in Tampa, Florida (yeah, we have drunks here, too :-) )

Good for what ails you

Work it sober and it will work for you. This is a nice little addition to the literature that will keep you motivated.

Helpful tips

This helped me with many practical tips and taught me how to overcome many limiting beliefs common among alcoholics. I also recommend 30 Day Sobriety Solution.

Living Sober

Great book, lots of tips for newcomers. A little dated, but still pertinent.

I Carry This Book With Me Everyday! Great One!

Excellent source on how to live your life sober & find sober things to do. I carry it with me everyday, in my purse, to remind me that life is still fun when sober.
