Somthing old, something new . . .
I purchased all four of the Lincoln penny coin folders for collectors (1909 to the present) for my 8-year old grandson for Christmas; since they brought back memories of when I was his age. I was uncertain, however, in this modern digital age, whether he would be interested in them. As it turns out, he was very excited about them. Then, my own son (his father), pulled his own Lincoln penny collection out of storage, which he had started about 30 years ago when I gave him similar penny folders for collecting. Among others, it had a 1909 Lincoln penny, which was the first year they were coined; and for variety, a steel 1943 Lincoln penny. (To save copper for the war effort, the U.S. Treasury coined most of the 1943 pennies in steel, which are bluish-gray in color.) I highly recommend these, and other, coin collecting folders as a gift for a young boys and girls. But then, of course, you should also give them, say, $20 worth of Lincoln pennies in rolls from the bank, so they can go looking searching through them for the pennies they need to begin filling the folders. As I child, I would periodically return these unused pennies to the bank to get more pennies to repeat the process. So, this also led to my first banking transactions; and, of course, I traded pennies with friends, so this also led to my first trading experiences. Something old, something new; something borrowed, something blue. Kodiak (1949)
A compact and inexpensive way to organize your coins
I bought the entire collection of these folders that is available at the moment. They all arrived within a day of each other, as expected. New users may think they seem small but they are a very compact and inexpensive way to keep your coins organized. A great tool for the beginner or the experienced coin collector. Be sure to lay the binder on a flat, hard surface like a desk or kitchen counter when entering your coins and you should have no problems.
Great for starters or misc Projects!
Perfect folders for the project I am doing. I bought #1 #2 #3 they all came in great condition and were delivered on Memorial Day very impressed. They were cheap witch is good for I am going to frame them in a frame that can easily have the glass slid to side so you can put any new coins in them. I would suggest if you are just starting out or are making a second set for a misc project to get these. If you want to see the back and front of the coins or would like to have it better protected I would say buy the Albums and not folders.
It covers every Lincoln penny to 1940, however this makes it nearly impossible to complete...
The penny book does contain a section for the 1909 V.D.B SanFrancisco minted coin. I have seen many other books that don't even place that in it because it is such a rare and expensive coin. There were only a few hundred thousand of the coins minted and the average price for one is about a thousand dollars ($950). I understand that it is one of the pennies that were minted, but BEWARE that completing this book is already a challenge, but the V.D.B S penny makes it insanely difficult.

Whitman Lincoln Cents collection (1909-1940) is a good quality folder for the new and old collectors alike. Each of its 3 pages has 30 slots for holding a total of 90 coins minted during this area. Each slot has printed below it the date and mint of the coin it is intended to hold and how many of the coin was minted. This folder also has one extra slot at the end labeled "varieties" for either displaying the back or some other special coin you may have. Read the directions and inserting the coins is no problem. My only note is that this may not make a great "tooth fairy" album because most of the coins needed for it are harder to find (wheat pennies and war pennies) but if you have a huge 5 gallon bucket of old pennies your great grandfather collected this is probably for you =)
Amazing price and awesome product
Does what it's suppose to do and that is store your wheat pennies and keep them safe just a heads put mine had a hole in the back of one of the coin slots no big deal but it was slightly worrying when first opening up the package. As for if I would recommend this product to others most definitely although being cheaply made it does what it is suppose to do and at good price. Also it had free shiping!
coin collector for years
Having worked at a cash register and with money for so long, I've always been fascinated with different coins. I've had all my coins in small bags and coin pockets but I finally got tired of sorting through them and trying to see what doubles I had. I was happy to put them into a nice stiff book like design, and it held the coins really well. I was finally able to get rid of the doubles and triples that I had. As soon as I can I will be purchasing the others, from the other two penny ones to the quarters and nickles. Excellent buy.
Damaged item!!
Product delivered damaged. The box was ok but one of the folders has a hole in it. For what I paid for it I’m not gonna bother returning it but you can believe I won’t do further business with them
Penny Collector's dream
It's sophisticatedly built good quality once you put a coin in though trying to get it out is pretty rough and then putting it back in it gets a little looser N Looser as you take the coins in and out of the little round slots but it works really good. It's definitely for a serious coin collector excuse me penny collector.

Collectors coin holder pennies
Quality is good, easy to read, coins easy to get in. Very well pleased with this folder.
Holes to tight in book
Nice book but need to recheck holes punched in book some of the witman book coins will not fit in the punches out hole holes are to tight
Good quality
I love these coin books. Something I can pass down when I'm finished with them.
Easy To Use
It's hard to beat something that's been around for more than fifty years. This folder holds the coins tightly but allows them to be removed easily.
Not what I expected
The holes for the coins are a little tight and the pennies pop out..
Inner OCD nerd is happy
For some reason I have always saved pennies, now I can make my inner OCD nerd happy and organize them. They are small and compact and the pennies fit easily.
same as when I collected coins 60 years ago.
the standard for coin collecting.
Somethings get better with time
This is still the same collector book I used 60 years ago. Sharing with the grandchildren now.
This One Worked Well
I purchased Lincoln Cents Folder #2, 1941-1974 and the holes for the penny's were too small. This one was just right! It seems after reading the other reviews on this one, other customers have the same problems with these folders, The Coins Don't Fit! It seems as though no two folders are alike! Pot luck ordering these, you may get a good one or a bad one. Overall not too bad considering the price. it holds the coins
Perfect
Gave it to a friend. He likes it. I already had another one. Coins fit well, unlike the Canadian penny folders
Great for beginning collectors
Although you can get nicer penny collection books, this one is GREAT for getting organized and starting out. Especially if you are unsure about your new hobby and don't want to invest a lot of money in it yet, this is an easy way to start learning. My 6 yr old son collects coins and this has been a great resource for him to keep straight what he has so far. I highly reccommend this folder!

Great for the family
This is a great idea for the whole family to work on. It helps keep the kids looking for the ones they needed to fill the holes in the book.
... these coin folders and these seem to be the best quality I can find
I have bought a few different brands of these coin folders and these seem to be the best quality I can find.they look really good and the material used is thicker and more stylized than the others.the coins fit well too.

So much fun! I love collecting coins
So much fun! I love collecting coins, and this book is great for that. The pennies fit nicely and snugly into the slots and stay there. I even had to take a few out after finding better versions for that particular date and the pennies snap right out with little problem. This product is not only what I was expecting, but also what I was hoping for.
It just makes sense
High quality display booklet that doesn't take up too much space like those giant state quarter displays.
Good
I got these for my boyfriend they were a little smaller than we thought they would be but they are good.

Great item, great company
My son loves these. He's 13 and started his coin collection, so I purchased this because it's the same brand I bought for myself 45 years ago. Still the same great quality as the ones I bought. Very impressed.

Great way to get kids interested in coins
These coin books are a great way to get kids interested in coin collecting, the ones for modern coins are even better since it's coins they can look for in their change.

Bought for my daughter, she loves collecting coins in them, she had all the quarters, nickels, and dimes, but needed pennies, bought 3 books to cover 100 years of coins. Good value for the product
Good, sturdy.
Good, sturdy folders.
Average Quality, Clean and Well Designed.
Same as the one's I had as a chile 50 years ago except maybe thinner cover material. Good for the beginning collector and should last years if not abused. Not the sturdiest of all products.
Good starter album
Nice starter album, it covers a lot of years for a beginner. My seven year old loves it. Can't view both sides once you put the coin in, difficult to remove. But to get a collection organized organized and a child interested it is great.
Keep them arranged in order
Great for coin collecting
Great coin collectors organizational tool
I decided I wanted to get my bags of pennies organized so my wife bought all the penny books she could find for my birthday, LOL. The book is just as nice as the ones I used as a kid - which is a big compliment, most things aren't as good as before. This is perfect for my organization project.

Great Value for a Standard Coin Folio
Great standard folio to keep your penny collection neat and tidy...not super heavy duty, but it does get the job done. With as many pennies as are in my car, I should've gotten 3 or 4 to fill up! :)

What I expected
Good for kids
Well put together and at a decent price. This is what I used and my grandfather used when he was a kid. Whitman has been around for a long time and they do a good job. The reason I only 4 stared was because after a couple of times of removing a coin it doesn't keep it tight. Great product.

Great! Like the extra space for varieties, and love the fact that it's easy to get the coins in. Really fun to work on, too. Got all three books at once and had a great evening by the fire sorting pennies!

Wonderful product. I am ready to start collectington and sorting my pennies. Thank you for having what I wanted.
Could Be Better
I remember when I was young and used the same folders. It was much easier to put the coins in. Now it is much more difficult with the new books. I found I had to try pushing the coin one way, then taking it out and pushing it in another. Then the coin would go in. Even more difficult if using the slots towards the middle of the folding pages. I bought some for myself and my granddaughter, now I feel sorry for her having to deal with these pages. But -- it is the only game in town. And the game is made ... you guessed it - China.

Quality is bad compared to older types probably because it's Chinese cardboard
Great little book for collecting.
