Fears Relieved

For clarity's sake, this review is for the LIGHT NOVEL of "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?" volume 6 After the end of volume 5 (and the anime, for that matter), I was worried about the direction this story was heading. Bell had just taken down a special super boss (despite being heavily wounded and exhausted), and while he hardly did it alone, the fact that he pulled it off kind of put me on edge. The reason being that I was afraid Bell was going heading into Naruto territory--that is to say, becoming so powerful so quickly that the story was quickly going to become unbelievable and boring. After reading this book, I am happy to say that my fears have been laid to rest. Reader, ye be warned. Spoilers are in this review. I will mark them, but they are there. And for those of you wondering, yes, this book picks up where the anime left off. Our story starts with Lilly talking to Soma, her God, asking to be released from the Familia. Soma, being the ever useless God that he is (or is he?), pretty much ignores her and leaves the decision up to his primary follower, Zanis. And in case you couldn't tell--because everyone else in Soma Familia has been a jerk up to this point--Zanis says that Lilly can leave...for the price of ten million vals. Good luck, Lilly. The story then cuts to Bell, Welf, and Lilly celebrating their victory on the 18th level and a few points are addressed. 1) Bell didn't receive enough exp. to hit level three, something I am extremely thankful for. This is because, despite getting the killing blow, it was actually Lyu and Asfi who fought the Goliath the longest, so they get the lion's share. 2) Welf, however, DID level up. He is now level two. 3) Bell's fame has grown even more, and this is where the main conflict of the story comes in. A few other adventures sitting near Bell's party start talking smack about Bell. At first, this just seems like the normal trash talking Bell has had to endure from people who don't believe he's as good as the stories say. Bell fails to respond, so then the adventures start bad mouthing Welf and Lilly, but still things remain calm. So the adventures go for Bell's one sore spot: They insult Hestia. Bell loses it at this, but Welf delivers the opening blow. A brawl breaks out, and Bell notes how much slower these adventures are than him. And then he promptly gets his nose smashed in by a level three adventurer by the name of Hibachitei, a member of the God Apollo's Familia. And it is made clear that, despite how powerful Bell seemed to be at the end of the last book, there are still plenty of things that can beat the snot out of him--much to my relief, if I'm honest. The following day, Bell is confronted by two more of Apollo's followers, Daphne and Cassandra. They offer him an invite to Apollo's party, and Hestia tells him that they have to accept. She suspects some sort of trap--making her loathing of Apollo known to Bell, but not explaining why--but she feels that they must go in order to apologize for the fight that Bell "started" the other night. What follows is a nice party with a lot of backstory revealed. Hermes gives Bell the story of Zeus and Hera, and how they used to be the most powerful Familias until they failed to complete the last of Three Great Quests. The final Quest that they failed? Slaying a dragon (because of COURSE it's a dragon). This is probably a glimpse of what will be Bell and his Familia's final test--slaying the dragon that even his Grandfather's (Father's?) Familia couldn't take down. We also get a scene of Bell dancing with Aiz, and it's very sweet because Aiz is just as flustered as Bell about the whole thing, but her Sword Princess mask breaks and we get a glimpse of the cute girl she is in private--and then Loki and Hestia lose it and break the dance up. Finally, Apollo enters the scene and he demands compensation from Hestia for the fight Bell started with his followers. Hephaestus steps in, pointing out the Welf actually started the fight, but Apollo brushes it aside. When Hestia refuses to apologize for Bell's action, Apollo makes a demand: A War Game with Hestia's Familia. Hestia refuses the War Game and storms out of the ball, and it suddenly becomes clear that Apollo has been planning this from the very start. His goal is to take Bell away from Hestia because he collects people he finds attractive--and Bell has fast become the talk of the Gods. What follows is a break-neck pace in the story. Bell and Hestia are attacked the very next day, with Apollo sending pretty much his entire Familia after Bell. It's only thanks to the help from Bell's friends--Lord Take's Familia and Lord Micah's Familia--that he is able to stay one step ahead of the enemy Familia. Hestia, realizing that they are in a completely hopeless situation, decides to accept the War Game and tells Bell that he has one week to get stronger while she stalls for time. SPOILERS FOLLOW!!!!!! During the flight from Apollo's Familia, Lilly is forced to return to Soma's Familia because Soma's Familia is helping Apollo's. This is where the story diverges into two separate paths--one involving Bell training with Aiz and Tiona to get stronger, and one about Hestia, Welf, Nahza, and Mikoto rescuing Lilly. During the rescue, it's revealed that Soma isn't a total jerk--he's just utterly disappointed in his Familia. The reason he gives them wine is to reward them for doing such a good job, but he lost faith in them when he saw how easily they lost their minds from it. But when Lilly shows that she can resist the wine in order to help save Bell, he's stunned and agrees to let her leave his Familia and join Hestia's. Welf and Mikoto also leave their Familias and join Hestia's, thus increasing her total members to four. And, thanks to a little begging from Hermes, a certain character from the last novel is also talked into joining the fight on Bell's side (but not his Familia, because that would make the Familia too powerful too early in the story. Don't worry though, I'm sure she'll join up eventually). But can five adventures really manage to win a War Game against one hundred enemies? The answer is yes. I mean, did you really think Bell was going to be taken away from Hestia? But the fun part is reading HOW Bell's ragtag team manages to claim victory. The tactics, the ploys, the tricks. Everything that they pull out is amazing--and the best part is, none of it is a surprise to the reader. No one suddenly has some new secret move that they've been saving, or some hidden power. Everyone uses skills that the reader has long been aware of, which makes it so much fun because you are left going, "Of course! Brilliant!" SPOILERS END!!!! Some Notes: It's revealed that Loki and Freya are the ones that kicked Zeus and Hera out of the city. My guess: this is how Loki is going to be dealt with. There is no way she's giving Aiz up, but if Bell defeats her at some point further down the line because of what she did, or Loki comes after Bell once she finds out who he's related to and he's forced to take her down... With the mention of Ares, the God of War, from several books ago, combined with the final Quest to slay the dragon, I think we now have two long-term stories to look forward to. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Lyu's Goddess is ever mentioned by name previously. She is here: Astria. Hestia makes a not-at-shocking-to-us declaration to Bell, and Bell completely misses the point, much to her annoyance. I want to know what happens to Cassandra and Daphne. I will be surprised if they do not show up again later. I've long suspected that there's something up with Syr. This book only makes me think that even more. There's something about this girl that she is hiding from everyone else. I'm sure of it. There is a touching scene at the end between Soma and Lilly. Probably the most touching scene in the story so far--yes, even better than when Lilly breaks down and demands to know why Bell saved her from the ants. For some reason that baffles me, the artwork ceases to exist about halfway through the book. This is a true shame, because some of the fights really deserve to be shown. Can't WAIT for the manga of this story. Much to my personal happiness, the vast majority of this book is NOT written in first-person narrative. I just don't like it when a story is written in that style, but if there are those of you who do, you have been warned. Omori-san has an odd habit of writing dialogue, and then in the very next paragraph, telling the reader what was just said. It's...kind of annoying, honestly. Not enough to take off a star, but it does make me wonder if this is a Japanese thing. Botttom Line: A lot of reviews have said that this is the best story so far. And I must say that I agree. Once the dance ends, the story picks up and sprints for the finish line--with still over half the book to go. The pacing is excellent, the action is solid, new characters are revealed, old characters are given much more depth, and most importantly, Bell is not shown to be stupidly overpowered like I feared. And all of this happens without the characters setting foot in the dungeon once. If you wanted to know what happens next to Bell and his companions after the anime, then this book is a must read for you. For regular fans? Come on, is there any doubt? Pick it up.

Note: The publisher has unfortunately given the same exact titles to both the light novels and the numerically corresponding manga volumes, when they already had the same author and illustrator! Now, since the stories in both are basically identical (except that Volume 6 of the manga only covers from the second part of Chapter 3 of the third novel through first part of Chapter 1 of the fourth novel), chances are that if you love one you will also love the other, with the novels giving you more details and the manga giving you more visuals. However, in order to purchase the version you actually want, you must be sitting on the correct product page. For the novel click here:

The Familia Myth in Danger

You would think after beating a Goliath, Bell and company would have time to rest and recover. However another god has his eyes on Bell and wants to make him his. The Apollo Familia declares a God War against Hestia, and when she refuses he goes through great lengths to get her to agree. Normally you would think that Bell would be greatly outmatched, but with a week to prepare and some help from his friends and his crush Aiz (with whom he is dancing with on the cover), he might pull off the upset of the age? This was a great story, it shows the other side of the Heroes City with all its darkness and light. Seeing that not all of Ostario is the Dungeon, but the city has its own dangers and perils just as lethal as any Goliath or MInotaur for mortal or god (Hermes get clobbered by Loki and Hestia for the circumstances of Bell dancing with Aiz). If you enjoyed the series, this is a must for you to read.

The story is starting to really take off.

This story was very intense. There was action around every corner. This is the first book the really takes place outside the dungeon. I personally like it. I hope it is a sign of what is to come because it means a expanded view of the world. I want to see how far Bell can go. The family is finally growing in more ways then one. While I cannot wait for the next one I have to.

Very much worth reading, but...

I am enamored with the plot and characters, really loving it. The depictions of dialogue and action read quite a bit like a fan-fiction though. Not sure if that is due to translation, an attribute of the light-novel genre (it is my first time reading one), or what. Descriptions and inner monologue do not suffer from the same issue, however. If I could rate aspects individually, I'd give the plot and characterization 5's, and dialogue and action writing maybe 3's. That's why I settled on giving the book a 4 overall.

Relentless action!

I've enjoyed all the books in the series so far, but the last two have picked up the pace and added more depth to the characters. I thought after the events of book 5 that 6 would just coast along and be an aftermath kind of story, but it just continued the action. I look forward to the next one.

Good read, interesting as ever!

Just like the rest of the books in the series I've rolled right through them as soon as I've gotten them. I thought this book would be a lot more boring compared to the rest given the fact that it takes place outside of the dungeon but it keeps it exciting as always. The story explores more than just the "heroic desire" saving the day as it usually happens, so many characters get involved and it's nice to see it all come together. 200 some pages went by in a flash, and I believe it's the first series (well, along with SAO) that I've gotten as it comes out. Only bad part is now I have to wait until December for the 7th! Only knock I have to give it was that the book was slightly torn on the binding when it arrived, very slight and no reason to hit the actual meat of the product with anything though!

Thrilling!

By far in many ways my favorite book so far! It took me back to when i first watched the thirteenth warrior. With the gathering of the members. The fighting was on a new level from anything previously read in the series. I pray the anime lives up to this book.

I love this series

Honestly season 2 of the anime Drew me back into the novels, I wish I never stopped reading them. There is just a quality to the writing that just can't be ignored, it's fun, funny, tear jerking, action, romance, underdog story.. top ten in any book Gene I've read, love it.

Fantastic action packed story

This book picks up after the Anime season 1 for those curious. The beginning starts off somewhat slow and then suddenly bursts into a fully epic thrill! Sorry can’t spoil this for you who haven’t read it but it was quite satisfying to read for me.

Fantastic action packed story

This book picks up after the Anime season 1 for those curious. The beginning starts off somewhat slow and then suddenly bursts into a fully epic thrill! Sorry can’t spoil this for you who haven’t read it but it was quite satisfying to read for me.

Its great but warning Prostituion is a big topic

Its a great addition to the series but it takes a turn from the all the other books. Again there is no Dungeon storyline it takes place heavily in the city and Prostitution is a heavy topic so there's a lot of implied sex but no details. That's all I will say to avoid spoiling anything but if you are this far into the series I'm sure you will get the book anyways so just forewarning you it takes a step up in the age department with this book.

Great transition from anime

For those of you considering reading this after coming from the anime I highly recommend it. The story only gets so much better as you transition to the light novel. As well this book is action packed and never had a dull moment. A must read for lovers of the series!

Book 6

This by far is the most intense and satisfying epic episode of Bell so far! I was on the edge of my seat to the very end and the conclusion is so satisfying! Can't wait too see what's in store for the Hestia Familia!

I enjoy this series

I enjoy this series. Due to a brain injury, I had lost my memory of reading this specific volume, and couldn't find my print copy. Now I'm caught up, and enjoying the story. Don't let the title fool you, this is an excellent series, with likable characters, and has almost nothing to do with picking up girls in a dungeon.

This volume picks up after the anime. Definitely worth the purchase

I usually read a chapter a day so I can order the next volume on a Friday and have it by Monday but I couldn’t put the book down and I cleared it the day it arrived.

Was a good side story

Gave us good info about the past and hinted on what maybe to come on bells journey. Also enjoyed bell and aiz together.

Good story.

Very good sequence on the series. Character progress is great and I like the way the've been evolving. Also I like the way the author didn't waste time to extend the story and make this one very dynamic.

great

great

Great book

Fantasy styled Romantic Comedy Great Characters and good story makes for a very engaging read.

Fantastic *~*

This volume had me at the edge of my seat. It took about 5-6 hours to read since I'm a slow reader, but anticipation of each page caused my hands to sweat and my heart racing. The volume had me laugh, cheerful and fearful of what would, most of all excited to continue the story.

Familia Ties

I loved this volume. It starts with a strong conflict and ends with a strong resolution. Can't wait to get into the next one.

Best yet in the series!!

If you haven't read the previous books you won't fully appreciate the gravity of the story in this volume. I love how everything has slowly built up to this moment!

Now as a 60 year old adult it is nice to see the magic of literature can still take ...

Another enjoyable read from the author in this series, After reading Edgar Rice Burroughs, Jules Vern and H.G. Wells this brings back many a memory from my childhood. Now as a 60 year old adult it is nice to see the magic of literature can still take me to new dream of laughter and suspense. Thank you to the author and all that contributed.

es la opción perfecta y la narrrativa del autor es super fluida.

Para los que no quieren esperar a que salga el manga o el anime, es la opción perfecta y la narrrativa del autor es super fluida.

Great

Great condition

I enjoyed the book

The book is an easy read and just an enjoyable story. Flow from the prior books and the style has stayed consistent.

One of the better ones in the series

I've read all the prior books in this series, and this is one of the ones I've liked best, though in general the author does a good job of making the series better as it progresses anyway, rather than just "more of the same". In fact, I could say the same thing about the previous book in the series. The only reason I give it 4 stars rather than 5 is simply that it's an example of the Japanese so-called "light novel" genre, and it's difficult to consider a light novel as being worthy of 5 stars, no matter how much you liked it. This is the first novel in the series, I think, which really goes beyond what appeared in the anime, so in that respect it was also newer and fresher to me. The author explains in the afterword that the series is progressing beyond just being about Bell and Hestia (although characters like Lilly and Welf have been important characters for quite some time), and building up to more of an ensemble thing. He explains that he likes to have a slowly-increasing cast of important characters, but felt that he had to spend the first few volumes building up the primary characters before he could proceed to that point, and I think you can recognize that both in this volume and the preceding one. At any rate, I find this series to be a nice, relaxing read, even if there are some dark events, and particularly so in the latter couple of volumes. There is a spinoff in which, apparently, Aiz Wallenstein is the main character, with the first English translation appearing in a month or so, and I look forward to that one as well. At any rate, I'd recommend this volume pretty highly, though you would certainly want to start with the first volume of the series, or with the anime, rather than with this volume, because it would otherwise be meaningless to you.

Great read

The best of the series so far. All characters shine in this conflict between Apollo and Hestia familia even though there is no dungeon crawling in this part. Now I am curious about Lillies new stats...

Loved it

Great book

Five Stars

I love this series. Recommend it to anyone who gets it.

Four Stars

gift for someone else

I loved it!

One of the best volumes so far... I enjoyed it and sometimes I start to reading it again...

Great story; bad errors!

The story was great, I love Danmachi; but the problem was th editing--or lack there of, to be more precise. First, meter in not spelled meder (which they do quite a few times). The grammatical structure of the writing was off, quite a few blindingly bright errors were made, and in some parts, the wording could have been better selected.

Riveting

Could see about half of the twists and turns coming but the one I couldn't see coming where thrilling and kept me inthralled in the book.

Fantastic

Nonstop read that made keep reading one after another. First five books did great job on character development of Bell and the others that later join into the the sixth book

I LOVE this series!

I love this series, they finally pushed past the Anime and into, we'll another interesting saga, an evil being, a war game and a dance between to shy/Possible lovers, give it a read you won't be sorry

Five Stars

Great series, great value. Will continue to buy.

Finally some Luck for Bell...

I can't even begin to describe this book compared to the rest. Simply the best one in the series thus far. I loved the ending.

Action, emotions, adventure, those three words can describe this novel. I would reccomend resding this one along with the others.

Five Stars

I really enjoyed this one

Another excellent story

Once again another great story and continuation of the story line. And if you haven't seen the show, that's ok, the book goes in to greater detail.

Wow

I don't ever read, but man this caught my attention and went I to a 5 or 6 hour reading spree. I watched the anime, which is why I became instered in the light novel. I will keep reading the novel and I totally recommend it!

Keep up the good work son

This book is just as good if not better then the rest of the series I cannot wait for volume 7

Great Story

I really enjoyed reading this story. It was filled with fluid action and character growth. I highly recommend this to fans of the manga and anime.

Completely fulfilled my desires.

Every single word was amazing. I cannot wait to read every single volume that gets released in this series. Amazing.

great manga

love this series

Five Stars

An ever changing environment the characters are thrown in and a hopeful undertone for an underdog team.

An awesome new arc

New arc kicks ass. Its shaping up to be the best one yet. The fighting spreads outside of the dungeon.

Love this!

I love this series, in all forms: light novel, Manga and anime. Looking forward to the next publication!

Great story and I love the anime

Can't wait to read them all so far the shots are great ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

War Games!

Great continuation and excellent character development. Very fun read with excitement lurking at every corner. I would recommend to anyone.

Inside my top 5 LN have to read

Altough there is no Dungeon in this Volume, This is Great, What do you expect from an adventurer? Fame? Check. Gold? Check. Girls? Check

good

The first book after the end of the anime run, carries on the fun... Though no actual time is spent in the dungeon

Thrill ride

I loved the journey that they all went through and the story was expertly crafted, i felt like I was there seeing all unfold!

If you liked the series so far

Not much to say, this is volume 6. If you liked the series so far, you won't be disappointed. A nice change of pace after multiple death fights in the dungeon.

The best dungeon without an R rating!

Another great entry in this amazing series, the work is fun engaging and entertaining!

Vol 6

Best volume as well as the largest so far. Can't wait to read more. This has been one of the most enjoyable series I've read in a while.

Quite good read, the writing style falls a bit and you can see the writer trying too hard sometimes, but the scenes justify the cons

Stellar read!

This installment was as entertaining as ever. You've got to love the progress that Bell made this time around. I can't wait for volume 7 to be translated.

Interesting story

After watching the anime, I keep reading the books, and so far I am no disappointed. I hope we have an anime for the remaining books soon.

Love this series.

I truly love this light novel. This series is on par with SAO. I recommend this to anyone that love RPGs/dungeon literature.

Great read

Fell in love with the anime so I wanted to see how the story continued. Definitely a top 5 series for me

Not what you'd expect based on the title.

Despite the title, this is a really well written and enjoyable series. If you looked at this and thought it would be a RomCom, you'd only be slightly correct. The title is almost an inside joke once you start reading. Good action sequences with nice characters that you find little issue recalling who is who, despite a rather sprawling list of them. If you passed this title up based on the title, give it a chance, you'd be pleasantly surprised. It's similar to not liking FPS video games and summarily dismissing Mass Effect not realising that it's actually an RPG.

Loved it

Long and interesting. Things are starting to pick up for the hestia familia. A really enjoyable read. . . .

Five Stars

Great book. Wish they kept their translations accurate and didn't. Change things on the fly though.

Five Stars

yeaa get it buy it love it.

Great

I absolutely love this series. One of my absolute favorites. Definitely need to start from the beginning to enjoy it though.

Great quality product

Looking forward to new adventures. Great quality product.

Excellent series

Amazing book and great read, recommend all the books and I am ready for the next one in December.

War Games

Compelling part of the story. It really makes the conclusion satisfying.

Four Stars

Bell goes on new adventues and maybe do things no other familia has done.

Hestia <3

Great! I missed Hestia so much 😭😭😭

and this is by far my favorite of the series

I have read all books that have come out for the main series of Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? and this is by far my favorite of the series. Reading about the minotaur fight was amazing as it was in the anime, but book 6 has earned a special place in my heart for the content that was delivered and the rollercoaster of excitement that can be done outside the dungeon. This book takes up right after the anime and does it in the most beautiful way. I'm pretty sure anyone who read this from watching the anime, reading the series, or just picking up this volume alone will fall in love it.

Five Stars

So satisfied!

but i liked it.

not much action until the end,but i liked it.

Great read

The story starts out strong and leaves us riveted to our seat the entire time. The story does does not fail to retain and I would recommend to anyone.

Continued greatness

As a fan of the anime, it's always nice to go read the light novel and see what they missed. This series was nothing but excitememt. I can't wait for the next book.

Good book

This is a good book. I wonder what will happen next to the hestia family. I wonder. I will be reading the next volume.

Fun

When you see the last page. Omg. So he break all of rules of the world. The stories Was really fun. I read the book without stop.

Focused on Familias

By the points: -This book is really about the Familias. Hestia's in particular, but relationships inside and out of several Familias are explored. Status changes. Stuff like that. Know that going in. -Nobody really grows much, no new characters, no real growth/exploration of stats or abilities. -That said Bell matures a bit from his experience/training. -The combat is good and emotional. -No secrets/mysteries are developed or revealed. -Pace is quick, book is short. Definitely read in a day or less. -Was surprisingly less romance/love aspect. (Not a good or bad thing.)

Can't wait for the next one

Enjoy the whole series so far Shield hero is also good. Like dungeon better bell being the son of zues and all

Yay

It was amazing like the others. But I felt it was short and lacked details. He never even entered the dungeon! I'm confused because I don't know if he gained another Heroic Desire. Like I said lacked details but never the less it was a great book.

Best one yet, constantly had me on edge so I couldn’t put it down

The writing is legit and the direction it’s taking isn’t predictable. So far I’ve been very impressed with the writing and the story direction. I’ve only read 1-6 at the moment but I’d highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys great world building, high fantasy or RPG elements.

More of what I love from this series!

I really enjoy this series and the direction it's taking with the characters. Although it's a story about dungeon crawling, this is the first volume where the dungeon itself is hardly mentioned. Everything takes place on the surface world and in spite of that, it's still an amazing ride. The story definitely takes a darker turn though in this volume as the main character begins to struggle against seemingly hopeless odds. However, in spite of the deeper tones, the story still manages to shine through with humor and more. Bell and his Goddess definitely have to face some heavy adversity but they come out stronger for it. If you enjoyed the earlier novels, there's only more to love here!

Page turner

Fast paced action with good thrills. Liked the way each character allowed to show their skill and importance. Waiting for anime..

A MUST READ!

I had this ordered on my family's account because they carry Amazon prime. This was amazing. I am a huge fan of this Anime and wanted more! I had to get the book to continue the story. I am 100% satisfied with the story. This was my first book purchased to continue where the Anime left off (after the immense boss battle on floor 18). I hope they make a season two Anime and continue the story. This is definitely a story with plenty of potential. Very much like an MMO theme and I think the story of our hero Bell Cranel is well worth the read- and the continued animated series.

Amazing volume!

this is the only light novel i have ever read and it is absolutely incredible. this volume begins the 2nd season on the anime. i will continue supporting the series and check out the next volume.

Best book of the series (so far)

Such an enjoyable series altogether, but this book is definitely my favorite. This book takes place immediately after the anime ends, providing all new content. This book has 4 distinct arcs that are all as emotionally stimulating as the next. A fantastic read.

Four Stars

nice one, i just waiting for next one! :D

Great payoffs!

The story reaches a major climax. Lots of plot threads and character development pay off big. All Bell's friends and allies come together in his time of need. Great stuff.

Great series

Watched the show of this and this is the first book after the show ends. I am very exited to see the next book and couldn't wait for series 2. This book did not disappoint.

Continuing on from the anime

For fans of the anime, this is where the story picks up in the novels after where the show finishes. It gets pretty heavy on the world building, and there's so many characters at this point it can be hard to keep tabs on them all. I'd probably recommend something like The Asterisk War or Re Zero over this in terms of writing quality.

A more humorous tone in this one!

I liked this book in the series, you see more interaction with The Kenki and The Little Rookie (Aiz and Bell) in this series. She gives him her first dance much to the jealousy of Hestia! How will this play out?

A very good read

I picked this series up 3 days ago and haven't put it down since. As I don't want to ruin any of the plot I shall only say it is worth reading for a little of the adventure we all crave in day to day life.

Great Novel... one of my favourites

I loved the animation of this novel so I decided to read it, I prefer the novel to the anime. Great reading.

Four Stars

A great casual read.

Malicious

I loved the earlier books in the series, but sadly, this is where it ends for me. Why? Well... this book just was NOT fun to read, at all: instead of challenging the characters by some reasonable means, the author decided to go on a malicious rampage of hate and uncontrolled violence. And while it technically works to build the tension and conflict (that's why it's two stars, not one), it left me regretting ever having bought the book. There's enough of that stuff IRL and elsewhere that I really don't need more of it in what is supposed to be an entertaining read, thank your very much. It didn't help that the resolution of the conflict (second half of the book) was rather lackluster in direct comparison, and so it doesn't reward / compensate the reader for suffering through the first half.

Another fantastic volume of DANMACHI!

Without spoiling too much, this volume had three outstanding parts for me - the city chase, the Lilly rescue, and the War Games. Omori keeps finding new challenges to throw in our heroes' paths and they have impact because time was well spent in earlier novels to develop these characters. Of course, as some mysteries are solved, others remain. At the end of this all, I'm curious to find out what everybody's level will be next time. Normally, I'm not a huge fan of fantasy, but this series presents its setting as if it's some kind of MMORPG world that's blissfully unaware of its reality. I'm curious to find out if there's something that will come of it in the future.

For those who are interested in this series, pick it up soon

I like the series and of course this will be 5 stars for that. There's nothing exemplary about the book quality, but the opening full page poster is awesome of course. About this book, Hestia is challenged to a war game by Apollo who plans to take away Bell Cranel for himself. Meanwhile, Lily faces a grave situation with no hope of escape or so it seems. For those who follow the series and unable to read Japanese, this is the only way out. Having read fan translations of previous books, there is an undeniable difference in the way the translation is done - but it doesn't ruin the experience, mostly.

Maybe a fresh new start. Check it out!

This journey deserves an appreciation, I was surprised by the connection between past events with sense of responsibility presented here. I saw some room for more deep background in some moments but still I amazing creation. If you like a adventure growing path with some epic background please enjoy this serie.

This book far exceeds my expectations

It is expected to have a light volume after the one with a big climax we've got in volume 5, but this volume is exactly the opposite, there's a lot of character development as expected, but there's a lot of action with a big purpose also, it showed us a lot of development from various characters and that doesn't exclude the protagonist, Bell grew so much in this volume.
