Not for children!!!
This book is filled with subject matter that is not for children at all. The cover and the description make it seem like it would be a great book for a curious and intelligent pre-teen who loves history, but most of the stories seem to be about murder and there is also a lot of sexual content. I bought this as a gift for my son and can't give it to him, and I'm disappointed.
Not a good book for kids
I thought this book was for children because it claimed "curious" stories about history and science. However, I am very disappointed about it after I read some of them to my daughter. It has stories about alcoholics, a lot of supernatural stories, and a lot of stories that no one understands. Totally trash!
Hot topics and fun tales to stimulate and entertain
Author Bill O’Neill has authored many books on Trivia and stands as somewhat of an expert in this field! His topics include movies, football, baseball, wars, rock music, simply random trivia facts and US States. Now with a nod to providing interesting reading material while passing the time at home, Bill offers a cascade of stories that provide not only entertainment but also so educational topics! Providing an overview of the topics of interest in this book, Bill outlines his content in the Introduction – ‘This book will introduce you to some of the strangest facts on the face of the earth. You’ll learn about a Kansas town that people claim is so haunted that many call it the “Gateway to Hell,” as well as an urban myth about a Soviet drilling expedition that may – or may not have – opened a portal to Hell. You’ll learn about historical facts that were more than likely overlooked in your history classes. How Alexander the Great dies, how Cleopatra died, what happened to American Indian leader Sequoya, and the truth about Christopher Columbus’ expedition are just a few of the historical stories you’ll read about…You’ll read about a star that is many times bigger and brighter than our own, what will happen when computers become self-aware, what causes “brain freeze,” and how the government has been actively searching for extraterrestrials.’ And if that tasty intro doesn’t convince you to explore this fascinating book, add in stories about pop culture, sports stories about athletes, and even a few true crime tales to boot. Not only is the book entertaining – it is also very instructive. For those familiar with Bill O’Neill’s talent for tickling the brain, this book is a must read – one of his best. For those who are simply looking for solid entertaining reading to while away the hours, welcome to the field expert! Highly recommended – especially during these times… Grady Harp, March 20
Not what I thought
I bought this for my brother-in-law and did not give it to him after reading a story about cannibalism on a bus. I didn't think it was interesting, I thought it was very disturbing. I quickly threw it out forgetting I could return it. Do not recommend. There are better books out there.
This Is An Excellent Book With interesting Information In It.
This is an excellent book with interesting information in it. Readers of this book could gain some additional knowledge that they did not have before reading this book. Some of the interesting information in this book includes the following information: There are three downs per possession in the Canadian Football League compared to four in the National Football League in the United States. The CFL stadiums are much smaller than the NFL stadiums. The town of Arica with over 200,000 inhabitants is the driest city in the world. Other than the main road that connects to Bolivia, the roads in and out of the city are very primitive. Tom Dooley was a man named Tom Dula. Due to people's accent in that part of Appalachia, Dula's last name was pronounced with a long e sound. Billy the Kid was born Henry McCarty in 1859, but often went by the alias William Bonney.
LThey are interesting
Now I will say at the start of this review if you are into trivia and such these stories will be familiar to you. However there are some new items also. That is the thing about trivia books. There is a lot you already know, but then you find a little nugget about an item that you didn't know. That is the fun in reading books likes this those hidden nuggets that you find. Now there is always something new to read , but for me it is the little extra bits that keep me reading. I will keep reading books like this because I like to be amused by the trivia.
Interesting stories to know!
As a long time reader of this author's many books, I found this book to be very interesting, because it does not give one-line definitions or meanings to questions, but whole stories and histories of that piece of trivia. You get a 'behind the scenes' look that you'd not otherwise get from a regular dictionary or trivia book. I found it interesting, captivating, and enjoyable to read. Recommended.
If you love a recipe for a great read then this is a scrumptious casserole for your your mind.
I have read several of the authors books and found them all to be a plethora of information and excellent reads. This book lives up to my expectations. Without leaving any spoilers it is safe to say this is chalk full of tidbits overlooked in history classes. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I love that I can read a small section and get a complete story or read as long as I like. I highly recommend this book.
Decapitation and cannibalism: not for kids
The picture of Lincoln on the cover could throw ya. But it’s not for young kids or even nine-year-olds. I didn’t really want my son reading about decapitation and cannibalism. See image of page 74 “murder on the greyhound express.” Fine for adults.
Inane, Puerile, Daft, Insulting
Before my purchase, I did see two one-star reviews. However, both of them were where the customer was looking for a children’s book and were disgusted that this was obviously oriented to fully grown adults. “Well, that’s fine with me,” I said, “I’m sixty-one!” But my problem with this “book” was precisely the opposite: it seems to be oriented to the unlearned and undiscriminating eye of the eighteen year-old fresh out of high school. And “stories” isn’t really what is done here! The whole product reeks of the likelihood that a 21 year-old college student got in his mind that he could “write a book and make some money.” The author displays absolutely no talent for the writer’s art. And his “stories” read more like salacious anecdotes than real literature. The more robustly educated you are, the more likely you will be utterly dissatisfied with this product. (I quickly requested to return the book, and Amazon refunded my payment.) Forget about buying this trash!

NOT FOR KIDS!!!
I did a search for children's books and this came up. It has various stodies about murderers and their actions. This is not a children's book!!!
Dont let the cover fool ya. NOT FOR KIDS!!
Not to say this is or is not a good book- but it popped up as recommended while intentionally purchasing a book for my 3rd grader. Warning: This book is NOT FOR CHILDREN!!! 18+ to adult. (I shouldve done more research....momfail).
Not for kids!!
We bought this book for our 12-year old son. This is so not for kids, as other people have pointed out. There are multiple stories of brutal serial murderers, rape, date rape drugs, CANNIBALISM! My kid couldn't go to sleep last night after reading a story and we realized too late that it was really scary. Why is this being marketed to kids?! Beyond that, the stories are written at the 6th grade level or so, about two pages long, so it even reads like a kids book, which is just kind of sick. Don't buy this garbage.
Another great book

A bunch of random unsubstantiated stories poorly told
This is a dumb book. The stories are randomly selected and poorly told missing key details and leaving lots of unanswered questions. None are all that interesting and most are unbelievable. Best to be left next to the toilet in case someone is truly bored.
Not interesting facts! Horrendous murder depictions!
DO NOT BUY! Especially for young minds. This has the pretense of just being interesting facts. In reality, there are heinous crimes depicted in great detail. Bought for our teenager, but was so upsetting that she had to throw it away! The grotesque crimes (murders) it details are hardly “interesting facts for curious minds.” Gross. Save your money & your child’s mind... Very misleading title.
Really Misleading Title
Boy, was I duped. This book is in fact a collection of information about random topics, but it is quite a stretch to call these excerpts "stories." That I believe is objective. Subjectively, I also think it is a stretch to call them "fascinating." I found many of them to be merely descriptive, far from fascinating or story-like. Really disappointed with this book.
A good buy and a good read
I love this book. So many hidden gems. Fascinating stories and fact. Definitely a good buy and a good read rolled into one.
Dark stories for kids
Got this for my 10 year old. While I think they are interesting stories, many of them are dark. So many are about death.
NOT FOR KIDS , WTF Amazon
Our 4th grader Nickolas @ dinner table tonight : Hey mom that book you got me for Christmas is a cool book .!!!! It’s all about raping dead people and eating people alive and cutting men’s Willy off and eating it . This dude jumped on the bus and cut everyone’s heads off and pooped on them. This man ate this girls belly out 😂I’m over here WTF are you reading !!!!! Mom got it for me for Christmas , I want to do the reading Fair on it 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Rachel Kalb but it got good reviews on Amazon for Fourth Graders #Amazon #amazonprime #amazondeals #jeffbezos #elonmusk will lol
Do NOT buy for children NOT FOR KIDS INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE AND CONTENT
I purchased this book, after searching through age appropriate books for a 9-year old boy. He once selected a sports almanac to read through, so I thought this book of "interesting stories" would be fun for him. I glanced at the book before wrapping it as a gift. I was not sure about the reading level, but decided if it was too difficult now, in a few months he might look at it again and find it easier to read. The book contains 4-letter expletives, a chapter on pooping ["Pooping in "Public"], and mis-information on the death of Abraham Lincoln. When I signed onto Amazon to write this review, I found other reviewers stating the same thing: NOT FOR KIDS. Obviously, they selected the book thinking it would be appropriate for kids. Nope. Absolutely not. I did not notice warnings before I made the purchase, but certainly will check more closely. I guess this gives another reason to purchase books at a local book store whenever possible.
Total trash
Clearly fake reviews and strategic placement have hyped this book up to be something is not. Total trash. It's really unclear why this book comes up in so many searches for children's books, but as reviewers before me have said, this is not at all appropriate for kids, pre-teens or maybe even teenagers. Includes stories about rape, abduction, and murder.
Dull and Duller
Dull read throughout, typeface and awkward paragraph spacing makes for this book a yawner...
Not so interesting
The writing and the stories in this book did not capture the attention of any of my 3 children. We read books of a similar theme together out loud before bed and this was the first they asked me to stop reading and switch to something else.
More than a bit too pop
This is a hard review to write. I'm very fact oriented, and thought this would be a fun fact trivia book. I cannot appreciate the author's approach, though. It interjects too much opinion, and instead of clearly separating fact from fiction, he blurs the line. It was an uncomfortable read, and I threw it away after finishing about half. As others have mentioned, some might object to children reading this book because of some of the raw stories. I myself would object to a child's reading this because it fails to set a good boundary between truth and speculation/conspiracy.
These stories are NOT interesting
Mostly dull stories, with a few that had the promise of being interesting. Written in a terse "Jack Webb just the facts Ma'am" style. Each "story" is about five or six paragraphs in length.
Pretty Cool!!
Another O'niell book with alternating sections. I was digging into a rootbeer float while reading the section on brainfreeze. the freeze came on!l so section after section i alternated reading with and without the float. No brain freeze until heading intk the Ural Mountians with the Russian Skiers. And then it hit!! Brain Freeze. Yep, Its another cool O'Neill book.
NOT FOR KIDS!!!!
I bought this book for my 7 year old son how loves reading about science and history. I was so disappointed when it arrived and so very thankful I skimmed through it before telling him about it. This book is not for kids!
Very Good Read!
Very interesting book and a good one to take if you are going to be reading in fits and starts. Most of the information is new to me! I'll be reading more of Bill O'Neill's books, I'm sure. I could say it's worth the money, but I didn't pay anything. So let me say it's worth more than I paid for it!
NOT FOR CHILDREN!!!!
Please for the love.... change the cover.. looks like a children’s book... but it’s NOT!!! DO MOT BUY FOR KIDS... It’s a new kind of disappointment in yourself buying this book for your under ten autistic kiddo... and he suddenly you asks you about the smiley face killer.... NOTE TO SELF AND OTHERS: READ ALL BOOKS BEFORE GOGING TO YOUR CHILDREN!!!!!
“Interesting” stories... like rape and cannibalism.
If I could give ZERO stars, I would. THIS IS NOT FOR ANYONE UNDER 18. A story about raping corpses and eating them afterward?? The design and description of this book need to do a better job of explaining exactly what is in this book. So inappropriate for anyone who isn’t an adult.
Not age appropriate!
This book was in the 8-12 age group category. I purchased it for my 8 yr. old grandson who is an advance reader. Unfortunately, the content was nothing of what I expected. For goodness sakes Abraham Lincoln is on the front cover. Some content is okay however, other content talks about cannibalism, rape, sexual fantasy of chopping up women, Colonel Hogan's pornography problem. Just a heads up!
It has gruesome stories in it. Super gruesome of murder and raping.
I don't recommend.
Not for kids
Prob great but not for kids. Oops
Not what I was hoping for
I thought this was short little interesting tidbits from real history. They are long stories. Not a bathroom book. I will be returning this book.
NOT A CHILDRENS BOOK
This should not be sold as a book for children. I bought this book for my 11 year old son, thinking it was interesting stories of historical figures. “Interesting” meaning informative and captivating. He was reading earlier and started reading aloud to me. He began reading me a detailed story of cannibalism, murder and the rape of a corpse. Then the man was set free to live his life and he famous for his crimes. He’s been having nightmares recently and worried about people looking in his window.. now I understand why.
Not for KIDS!!!
I also purchased for my child and wow it is not for children!!! Suicide, murder, ghosts, apparitions , alcohol, partying and very inappropriate subject matter for children of any age. Though it is an interesting and somewhat fascinating book - do not buy thinking it is for kids ! The cover art is what threw me off - I won’t make that mistake again. I am going to have to sneak thinking of our kids home library.
NOT for kids. YIKES.
This is NOT a kids book. Based on the cartoon cover and the title I thought it would be a good book for my 9 year old curious son, who loves to read. After starting it he came to me very disturbed and upset about how terrible some of the stores are (especially the story of a man stabbing someone to death on a subway train... then cutting his head off... and cannibalism). I haven't read the book yet, it might be great. I just wanted to warn other parents of young curious kids. Skip this book until they're older.
Not interesting at all
I’m halfway through with this book and I haven’t read an interesting story yet. Save your money
Interesting but kind of dark
I bought this for my hubby for Christmas and he finished reading it. However, he commented multiple times that while there were some interesting stories in the book, many of them were much "darker" than he expected, so he ended up not really enjoying it as much as we both thought. But if you are into that type of content, it may be more exciting for you. For him/us, it was a bit of a disappointment.
Not a book for anyone younger than 16
This Book is not for Children.. I bought it for my son as a Christmas gift and fortunately I read a few pages before he got a chance to read it.. There is a section in this book that talks about a guy who killed his Dog and then had sex with it plus this guy killed a woman then had sex with her dead body before cutting her up and eating her..
Interesting and Mediocre
This looked like a great book for short fun reading. Alas, I was anticipating it would be more on the level of Paul Harvey or even Mike Rowe's fun anecdotes from reviews. This particular book was not. It would be good, however, for elementary school age readers and has small bites of interest here and there. If you want to learn more, you will need to look elsewhere. The price was bigger than it's pop, which happens sometimes! No matter, I'm sure others found it much more fascinating than those in this household did.
A children's book not appropriate for children. Go figure.
I bought another book by the author which was fine, but this one was different. Bizarre book in terms of subject matter. Most of the stories in the book are fine for kids, but about a half dozen are very disturbing, and not appropriate. I didn't believe my 13 year old when he mentioned some of the subject matter, so had to read for myself. Stories about cannibalism, someone on a bus getting their head cut off with a knife, rape, serial murders, children buried alive, etc. If you have young children not familiar with these topics be prepared for difficult conversations.
Don't buy this for a kid
This book is full of graphic sexual material. I had it delivered to my ten year old grandson not realizing he would get an x rated education
very light reading
This book seems aimed at someone who does not really want to learn details about these brief stories -- they are interesting but very superficial in depth, with no references. In that regard I would question the title "..for curious people." But I like the book
Not For Kids
This book is not for kids at all. This should be listed for adults only.
Big hit with my 12-year-old son
My 12-year-old son is in a phase where if it isn’t a graphic novel, he just isn’t interested but he needed a nonfiction book for a school project. Turns out he LOVED this book. It is full of interesting facts (did you know that Romanian is a Romantic language?) and fun to read without feeling “easy-to-read.”
ala National Enquirer
If you like lurid, tabloid-like stories, things like Bigfoot sightings, UFO's, drunken Egyptians and Bob Crane's secret sex life, then you should enjoy this loser. If you want some well written, fascinating true stories, go back a few years and read Paul Harvey's The Rest of the Story.
Good enough for a light read.
While good enough for a light read, it’s not a book that you’ll regret not reading. If the book was 3-4 times the length, with the same subject matter throughout, it could be considered a book. I zipped through it in about 20 minutes. It’s more like a short story than a book.
Expected mind-blowing facts, got a book of folk tales and rumors with a little history
It had some interesting stories, but overall was more hear-say, folklore, and speculation than factual information. If you're looking for an interesting read, this isn't the worst you could do, but if you like learning facts and expanding your mind, better choose something else.
Misleading book cover!! Should be stated ADULTS ONLY
I bought this book for two 11 year old boys thinking it was interesting facts .... NO, This book should state its for adults only! No where on the front or the back does it say it uses graphic descriptions of rape and murder! Buyers should be aware of the content!! It’s quite embarrassing when you give an inappropriate book to a a young person!! THIS IS FOR ADULTS ONLY!!
Interesting but not factual
Many of the stories were not verified facts but speculation or various therories as to what may have happened. I was hoping for more factual explanations.
Interesting, but many typos..
There are definitely interesting stories and facts presented in the book. As an adult I enjoyed the variety of odd pieces of information, but it is definitely not a book for children. While the stories were unique and informative, the book was rife with grammar errors, wrong words and misspellings. Also the way the author narrates the stories is a little odd and kind of cheesy. I would say to try to find another trivia type book over this one.
Kind of a dumb little book.
The stories are to short. Most of them are interesting enough but it is like only eating one potato chip. Not fulfilling.
Neither Here Nor There
Quite an eclectic series of trivia. some of it quite entertaining and other parts I didn't even pay attention to what I was reading. This was a good book to read a couple of short chapters before you start your real night reading.
Neat Book-Great Trivia
As good as the other books in this series. Easy reading, with interesting facts that are unusual. Also it’s a book you can pick up and put down at anytime not not lose continuity, since it is short chunks of reading on different events.
Disappointed pages are falling out as I read
Great book and great stories but my pages are falling out. I don’t mean just one page and I’m not reading the book roughly. I don’t think the binding was adequate. I’m still finishing it and I guess I’ll do some stapling when I’m finished
not very interesting
some of the stories are cool but most of them aren't that interesting it's not fun facts just random stories.
SUPER READ ! SUPER BOOK !
Excellent read & such great material! Will have everybody impressed by your knowledge in any type setting . Mr. McNeill’s books are so enjoyable to read ! Looking forward to the next one !!!
Not very interesting.
Disappointing.
A Must Read for all Young Children, even Adults!
I love love this book, I read a title page every night to my children and each night they go to bed after learning something new! Easy to comprehend and read!
Informative and fun.
I bought this as a gift for my 13 year old grandson who is interested in history. He has been telling me things he read in the book since he got it. A good little gift.
Made a good gift
This was a gift for a family member. The person is quite smart about a number of things. I was pleased to hear that there were some things in the book that he hadn't already known.
a lot of the information was not new to me
I think if you're over 50 this book may not contain any new information if you've been paying attention over your lifetime. But then again your memory may need a refresh
Fun, Light Reading
This is a fun book. It's the perfect addition to a desk or coffee table. Awesome light reading. I will probably buy more copies as gifts in the future.
Never arrived
Never arrived. Was going to be part of my uncle's Christmas gift. He is very hard to buy for and loves books, especially this kind, so I was so excited to find this. So disappointing.
Disappointing
The book is written in a childish manner . It includes conspiracy theories as stories and some other nonsense. The idea is great the book is not .
Lots of short articles
Great book for reading when you only have a few minutes to spare. Waiting for someone, On your break at work. Want to stay off electronics, etc.
Fun book
Funny stories and clean enough for all ages. I gave this to my husband and he read some stories out loud to the group. This sits in our living for light reading.
Not for kids
This book is not suitable for children! Sat down to read to my son- he picked the chapter on Superman- after the first few sentences discovered the actor playing Superman committed suicide! Not a great bedtime story.
Makes history fun
Super collection of fun facts and historical happenings. Each story or entry is a short 2 to 3 page chapter. An enjoyable read.
Interesting
This was a gift for my husband's birthday (a man who has everything!) and he found it very informative and liked it very much.
A fun daily read
I learn something new every day. I enjoy being able to read a brief article in a spare moment. Well written and humorous.
Book title should read "things you already know."
So so content....."stories" just rehash of common knowledge
Great book. Definitely not for kids unless you want to have some conversations.
Listen, this book is great. Super interesting. However, I wish that they would have put an age level. My nieces love to read and they like short story collections, so I was like, hey. How perfect. Their mom texted me a week ago. Her 10 year old asked her what a blow j*b was. Aunt of the year over here.
Totally recommend
Got this book for my dad for Christmas and he really enjoyed it! He read it every day and told me stories from it all the time.
Learning while fun reading
Mr. O'Neill is a prolific trivia author. I anxiously await his next book when I've finished devouring the current book. Waiting.....
Are they true?
There is no bibliography or reference section, and we couldn’t verify some of the stories. So I wonder how true any of it is.
WOW
VERY INTERESTING, had to go back and a couple articles ,Just to read about ABE LINCOLN, GOOD READ, thanks ,,,,,D.
Bathroom reading
Felt like I was reading readers digest. There was no new information for me- regretted that I ordered it.
Good gift
Gave to my father as a Christmas gift. To give him something to look at besides the tv. He likes it!
Very interesting
I enjoyed reading these short essays about everything under the sun. I am curious to read more by this author.
Not for Kids. Simone jotted random thoughts down and published it.
Not really interesting, it’s more like listening to some distant relative at a family get together... you know where they trail off mid......
THIS Book IS NOT for kids
Do not buy for children, it contains material for adults...poor choice I made for a grandchild.
Disappointing
The subjects chosen are not especially compelling, and the research is pretty superficial. I was expecting something a little juicier.
My brother-in-law loved it!
My brother-in-law is a voracious reader & loves to relate "interesting facts" such as those in this book. Truly a great gift!
Good quality ,Great fun read
Perfect gift for an inquisitive ,knowledge loving friend! Good quality book just as pictured..SHE LOVES IT
Interesting
What a cool book! Love the interesting short stories. Very good for kids and adults
Some of the stories were interesting
Not a bad book but it is very random in the small stories that it tells. I would recommend it because there is definitely something in it for everyone.
My hubby likes it
Bought this book as a Xmas present. He likes it and has some very interesting facts and stories in it
Not for kids
Okay, so I thought this one was for kids. I’m not sure if it was in my suggestions or what exactly happened. Epic parent fail- my husband is seriously questioning my judgement at the moment along with myself. Th eCelebrity Cannibal story had to be stopped quickly. Thank goodness I happened to be reading with my 11 year old. That usually doesn’t happen .
NOT FOR CHILDREN!
Totally misleading. This is not for children! Cult suicides, serial killers, Superman’s death- traumatized my nephew!
Definitely not for kids; title/cover misleading
I like many others apparently purchase this for my middle schooler who likes history, Lincoln, etc. Not cool. He couldn’t sleep and was really upset last night after he started reading it. The title and cover are misleading. They made bad decisions. I will be getting my money back. Too bad my kid can’t unread the book.
Great gift
Very interesting book! I skimmed through it and plan on giving it as a gift.
Good, but can't receive offer
Interesting book, but there is a website that offers 2 free books, and when I put in the website it shows invalid
Grandson likes it
I bought this book for my grandson along with two other books. He said "Ah'ma, I can't put this book down! It has all this interesting stuff in it. Some of it is weird!" Good review from my16 yr old grandson. Who knew?
Ehhhh
Didn't find this to be really that interesting. I am a curious person, just wasn't what I was looking for.
Treasure of knowledge
Mr. O'Neill never ceases to amaze. His efforts in researching and writing about curious facts on different subjects is unparalleled. A true treasure of knowledge.
Awesome Book
I enjoyed all of the random facts and stayed entertained the whole book. I recommend it to anyone that loves trivia.
Not so interesting...
Thought it would be better. Some of the pages are greed out and can’t be read??
It's worth the money so far.
Box that the frame came in took a lot of abuse in transit. It was all intact when I removed frame from the box. Bed works well, comfortable, as advertised. Easy set up. Memory foam mattress is a little warm when sleeping. Massage settings not very effective.
Nice Book
This book is interesting. Short stories. Good for starting lessons or speeches. This is not a high intensity dramatic book, just light and interesting. Enjoyable
A bedtime story
An excellent late night read. Lots of funny facts and other things that I did not know.
Not a good book
Contains dark/haunted stories, etc. Threw away the book.
Not for kids.
This book is not for kids so not sure why it came up in the search for 12-14 yr olds.
ok
godd gift
Learn something cool
For someone who loves history and the USA, this is a cool book!
Very shallow stories
Stories are written with little historical context and provide very limited supporting facts which result on stories that sound more like stories the author heard about than stories he did detailed research on
Great Read
Bill O'Neil always has some great books of trivia to read. Not only do I enjoy them, so does my 9y/o. She likes to learn about the different things that he has written about! Keep up the great reads Bill!
Book
Was gifted to someone who said book is interesting.
Average
Expected more...not that many surprises for an avid reader. There was also some spelling mistakes...unexpectedly.
Great gift for a teenage
Perfect gift for my nephew. Funny and interesting info!
Fun book!
Nice gift for Christmas, easy read, informative.
Interesting
Some Gruesome stories in here, but definitely interesting
Interesting
Gift for my son to read while quarantined. Something to pass the time. He said it was interesting
Not so curious.
Disappointed with most of the stories. Really not that interesting.
Don’t buy this book
I was expecting stories that were a lot more interesting. Silly and kind of dumb.
Just finished this one.
Very informative, and short stories that makes for a good bed-side companion.
Definitely interesting! Love it!
Bought as gift for 11 yr. old he loves it!
cool facts
i love learning all of the trivia facts
Title lives up to its name.
Reading this gives you more trivia info.
Not worth the time
Bunch of stuff not worth knowing. Complete waste of time. Scrolled to end of book just to write the review
Good grandma’s gift
Perfect for my precocious grandson.
Interesting stories and quick read
THis was a great stocking stuffer
Great gift
Packaged well. Got for my son. He loves these books. Very pleased. Thank You.
Just kind of neat information
Fun to read, interesting stuff.
Not fact-based
Boring nonsense stories that are not supported by facts. Might as well surf the internet.
Completely Inappropriate for Children
I bought this book because it was classified as non-fiction for kids 9-12. It's full of language, stories about murders, etc. There is no way I would have purchased it if I knew this.
I gave it as a gift. He loved it.
Worthless information ... Yes!
Very happy with my purchase.
Very happy with my purchase.
Shorter can be better
I got this for my MIL, who is 90. She’s always liked to read but now prefers to consume shorter material. I have to admit that I haven’t read a lick of it myself but it is doing exactly what I bought it for.
Short, interesting stories
Short, interesting stories.

Do not buy this awful book
I wish I could give this zero stars. This book is awful and absolutely not suitable for children or adults for that matter. Absolute garbage do not buy this book.
Nice
I am only about 20 pages in, but I like it! It is a collection of stories, each being 2 pages each. It is nice to pick up and read when you only have a few minutes. I agree with the other reviews though, it isn't for children. One of the first stories is about drinking.
Giftable
Made a great gift
Not for kids!
It looks like a kids book, but it definitely is not. I wish I had looked into this further before buying for my son. He has unfortunately learned some terms that we would rather him not know yet.
NOT for children!!
NOT for children. Otherwise likely interesting stories.
Enjoyable
Short stories are good
great gift !!!....Zero problems
Zero problems
A Quality Assortment
A great mixed-bag of trivia and fascinating facts. A great read, as always!
NOT FOR KIDS!!!!!! Violence and disturbing stories inside.
I bought quite a lot of books for my 8-year-old daughter to read. And this book was a recommendation by Amazon. I had no idea until my daughter showed my a story about a jobless man chopped a man's head off and ate the flesh.
Interesting coffee table book
Gave it as a Christmas gift and my cousin loved it! Good coffee table book any age can love.
Book
Cool stories
Acceptable
As required
Not worth it.
Not interesting stories.
Not Appropriate for anyone under age 18
I purchased this for one of my Grandsons and I always read them first. This one has some sick information about an evil "sick", I say Demonic person from Japan that some may find interesting but I found repulsive as an Adult and do not wish to expose children to it.
NOT a kids book.
Beware, this is NOT a kids book.
Great book
Great for early readers
Not impressed. Poorly written common stories.

Truly bad writing backed up with sad content.

Love all of the books..
I am a huge fan of these trivia and informational books that are available..
Worthless information.
This book just had worthless and not very interesting stories. Expected it to be a better read. C- in my book!

Great selection of subject choices !!
Interesting and a quick read -
This little book is chock full of great information- we like the format..

All ages
This is a great read for all ages!
Fun gift
It’s a gift, sure he’ll like it
Adult book
Not for kids adults only
Still unopened
Bought it for my son who loves crazy and interesting stories! Unfortunately- it didn’t Interest him. Lol!
Great short stories
Such a fun book with short stories. Also enjoy “last book on the left” which has stories and illustrations about serial killers if that’s your style.
Unsourced
We’re supposed to simply take the author at his word? Half of these stories cite “recent polls” and other such “sources” within themselves, many of which are probably outdated or incorrect
No
Interesting
NOT FOR KIDS!! RAPE and MURDER!!
Not for kids!!! Talks about rape and murder. Not what I thought it was. My son just confided in me and I bought this book a long time ago!!
The amount of knowledge shared via his books is awesome!
Excellent read. I found it educational and informative. I have many of his books and he has yet to disappoint me with his words of wisdom.
Quirky and interesting information for all to read
Gifted item. Recipient was pleased.
Great Book
My mother loved this book. The stories are short, interesting, and entertaining.
Great gift
Great gift for my brother
Very informative and fun to read
Always very interesting reads by the author and this one is no exception
Inappropriate Content for kids
This book has weird stories about murderers and hell. Bought it for my curious impressionable 10 year old - WRONG choice! Wish I could return it but he didn’t start reading it until return window was closed.
Not fun to read
Very poorly written.
Translated?
The stories in this book are mostly 2 pages long. I wish they went more in depth. There are quite a few errors in the book which is worrisome and made me question if I could trust any of these stories.
good book
father loved it
Great gift
Great gift for my husband. He loved it.
Worth a buy!
Fun read, whole family from 12 up have found some fun reads that have turned to good discussion.
