A must-have for any vegan cookbook collection!

This is a great cookbook that lives up to the awesomeness of Lauren’s Hot For Food Blog and YouTube channel. The title is perfect because the food recipes are exactly that: comfort food. What I love about it is that she managed to keep her same ‘voice’ throughout the written recipes as she does on the show. One of the things I love about it are the beautiful pictures. Thankfully, unlike way too many vegan cooks out there, she gets that a cookbook needs pictures. This is NOT a cookbook for vegans wanting to go on a diet and lose weight. It’s a cookbook for when you want to cozy up and eat something yummy that makes you feel good and to heck with the calorie count and fat content! I have plenty of vegan cookbooks that cover the healthy side. This comfort food was what was missing from my collection and it’s a must have for any vegan cookbook collection. In fact I bought two, one for my apartment and one for the weekend place because you can never have too many comfort food recipes at the tips of your fingers.

Vegan comfort taken to the next level

I have been a vegan since August 2017. I made the change without even knowing what vegans eat. I took to YouTube and Bam! Here is Lauren Toyota with hot for food! I immediately took to her personality. I loved the way she reacted to Food while chewing (Mmmmm....and omg) I was immediately drawn to her and her food. When I saw she was writing a cookbook I thought man, how could she top what she does on camera? Ahhhhh, she has further exceeded my expectations and my love for (vegan) food has grown!!! I can make amazing food for my non vegan friends but moreso for meeeee to enjoy! I have lots of plans to go through this book! So far I've made the breakfast sandwich and pile of waffles!!! Insane!!!! Lauren is a genius!!!! Get her cookbook!

Best cookbook

After meat repulsed me during my pregnancy the family and I started a vegan lifestyle. Finding a cookbook is challenging, but even more so when you have a new style of eating. This is hands down the best cookbook I’ve ever owned, vegan or not. Everything I’ve made is so yummy and I’ve had to make zero modifications to the recipe to get a better taste. So far I’ve done about 8 of them. I highly recommend this book, vegan and no vegans will love all the recipes. Photos are of the: Green pea pesto linguine Chicken pot pie soup Seitan (sliced up) Philly cheese steak sandwich Lasagna soup

Oyster Po'Boy - The Best Vegan Sandwich

My first recipt was the oyster sandwich! The flavor reminded me of fried oysters but I was acutally eating fried oyster mushrooms. The texture of the oyster was consistent with fried oysters. The sandwich included lettuce, pickles, thousand island dressing and I added sauteed red onions. It was deliciious and I was satisfied. You gotta try this vegan cookbook. It was the second vegan cookbook I purchased so far. Maybe, I am a closet VEGAN!!! This sandwich was classic

YouTubers/Bloggers For The Win

I just here recently went vegan. While watching Jenna and Julien, I clicked on one of hot for foods videos, and oh my god I was shook. They have delicious and easy to follow recipes. One of my top favorite vegan channels. From there I found this cookbook, which looks amazing. Lauren Toyota is awesome, so I know this book is going to be too. The pictures are beautiful, and the book is made of a great material. Love it, 10/10 recommend.

She’s the reason I’m VEGAN!

So much great food in here that makes it easier than ever to switch to a plant-based diet and not miss any of your favorite foods. I’ve been making Hot for Food recipes for awhile now so I’m so happy Lauren finally made a cookbook with some new spins on her classics. I’ve had the book not even a whole 24 hours and I’ve already made two of the recipes. Here’s a pic of one of them (Southern Fried Cauliflower). Love the way the book is organized and the intros to each recipe are so funny and really get my palette ready for what I’m about to eat. Also the pictures are absolutely perfect and this is coming from someone who prides themselves in her food porn photography. All is all, great book! So excited to make to the rest of these recipes!

Completely disappointing buy

ALL of the recipes found in this book can be found for free on the internet with minor alterations; some recipes can be found at the Minimalist Baker which they quote in the description on Amazon and on the inside cover of the book. The major difference I've noticed in the recipes is the ones in the book include plenty of added fat, salt, and sugar. Nowhere does this book claim to be healthy; but, it's self-defeating buying the long lists of ingredients to only to load them full of fat, salt and sugar like they're preprocessed, manufactured food products. This highlights the author's lack of skill with using spices and technique to impart flavor. You could save money and time by buying factory made package food. Many recipes even require you to add pre-made "vegan cheddar cheese slices", "vegan butter", "corn tortillas", "english muffins", and buns that they don't provide a recipe for. I didn't and don't need a book to tell me what packaged food products to buy from the grocery store. Buying this book you're paying more for the glossy pictures and binding than the recipes. Lastly, this book was sold as "New" on Amazon, but came with stains on the inside cover, damaged edges, and bent corners.

Totally worth going vegan for

After watching Lauren’s YouTube Channel “Hot for Food” after becoming vegan, I realized how easy it is to make to switch to a vegan lifestyle. I knew her first cookbook would be the best and couldn’t wait fo it to come out. Thank you for all you do, Lauren. You are very inspiring!!

Easy delish comfort food

Gorgeous book and the recipes are amazing yummy ! Made the Greek salad and it's crazy good also made sausage rolls and they're Omni approved. Yay! If you don't know her check out hot for food on YouTube her food is easy and delish

If you like her channel and blog you will love these new and updated recipes

This has quickly become one of my favorite vegan cookbooks. What I like about it is simple: Everything I have made out of it tastes great! There were a few recipes I tried that I wasn't sure about and they ended up knocking our socks off (like the brussel sprout ceasar, greek potato salad, sweet potato gnocci). I read some of the reviews that were less than 5 star on this book because I was curious why people wouldn't love it-- and I understand where they are coming from-- so let me lay out a couple reasons you might not like this book: 1) Yes a lot of the recipes are multi-step or take a while. Not too many 30 min recipes. However I think that is why the recipes taste so good. 2) The health factor-- it's a vegan cook book called "comfort classics." If you are looking for super healthy, no oil, etc. then this is probably not the cookbook for you, however I do find most of the recipes generally healthy. I don't cook out of this cookbook everyday (see #1), but as I mentioned I've been so happy with everything I had made from this book. If you aren't sure that this cookbook is for you, check out the "Look inside" feature. Also there is a blog with a a lot of recipes you can try out and also the Hot For Food channel is great-- that is where I learned about the cookbook. PS the Buffalo Cauliflower sandwich is life changing.

BEST VEGAN COOKBOOK. PERIOD.

I've followed Hot For Food for a few years now, and Lauren, BY FAR, has the BEST vegan recipes out there. I've made so many recipes from the website, and friends and family rave about the food (crab cakes, chicken noodle soup, cheesy pumpkin rolls, caramel apple tart, best vegan burger, etc). This book is no disappointment! So far I've made the Zucchini Onion Bhaji (OMG AMAZING) with the Sour Cream, and the Coconut Bacon. Tonight I'm making sausage rolls. Lauren, you're the BEST and deserve much success! GO AND BUY THIS BOOK NOW. UPDATE: I've made the cheesecake twice. Might be the best I've ever had.

If you want good vegan recipes, you need this book!

I am enjoying this cookbook so much! The orange fried tofu with fried rice I made last night was so delicious and surprisingly easy to make. I warmed up leftovers today at the office and one of my coworkers made a comment that my food smelled amazing! I am not an experienced cook, and I find the instructions very easy to follow. You just need basic kitchen common sense and you will be able to handle the recipes in this book. The photographs are a nice bonus and very inspiring!

Love gourmet comfort food!

I love the Hot for Food youtube channel and overall I am happy with this book, although there have been a few things that just weren't for me. Lauren is an amazing cook so I'm confident that there will be more winners amongst some of the recipes I have yet to try. So far I've made: Lemony parm green beans - Solid veggie side. Mushroom and herb toast - Yum, even though I didn't buy the fancy mushrooms :P Gooey French Onion Soup - Good! Cream of Broccoli Soup - Ok, but nothing special. Curried Butternut Squash Soup - Good, but I think I'm a thick coconut curry over rice rather than a coconut curry soup person. Comforting Lasagna Soup - Love lasagna, but I didn't like this. Something about the flavors wasn't right to me, but maybe I messed up? Oyster Mushroom Po'boy - YUMMO! Loved this! Saved by Seitan - I need to work on my seitan making technique I think, but this recipe had good flavor. Philly Cheesesteak - Lauren's version uses her nacho cheese, which I love to eat with chips , but for some reason I just don't think it works for a philly. Bacon Mac&Cheese Skillet - This was good, but not quite what I was expecting. I've tried other vegan mac n cheeses that have been better in my opinion. This seems to be a popular recipe however! Bean and Cheese Enchiladas Verdes - LOVED THESE! Bangers and Mash - The seitan sausage had a great flavor, better than any store bought vegan sausage I've tried. The texture came out too tough though. However, I'm positive this was due to my own error! Mushroom, Leek and Tomato Risotto - Good, but didn't wow me. Cinnamon Rolls - WOW! My dough was quite sticky and I had to add a bit extra flour but these came out so amazing! I had never made homemade cinnamon rolls before and now I just dream about them...

Dont recommend - Long ingredient lists and prep times

I purchased this book 1 year ago and havent tried one single recipe. The long list of ingredients + long times to prepare have deter me. I love cooking and have other vegan books I used once and again, but this is not one of them as I am a mom and work and therefore need to be efficient with my time. A waste of money in my opinion.

I love how there is a special chapter just for vegan ...

I got this book yesterday morning. I have already made several batches of the vegan chocolate chip cookies, and they are to die for. I can't wait to make all of the recipes in this book. I love how there is a special chapter just for vegan sauces (ranch, bbq, etc...) and that the recipes are doable without being basic or requiring crazy things you can't find at your reg grocery store. Highly recommend for vegan/vegetarian or even non plant based eaters. These recipes are delish.

This book is amazing! It’s the kinda cook book you want to ...

This book is amazing! It’s the kinda cook book you want to stay up reading even when you aren’t in the kitchen. The design is lovely and the recipes are mouthwatering. Lauren Toyota has done so much to push the boundaries of what we think of when we hear “vegan.” She has elevated plant-based cooking to a level that us vegan foodies were all dreaming of. If you’re vegan get this book. If you’re not vegan get this book.

A lot of ingredients. Delicious food.

I love all the recipes! One of my favorite vegan cook books. My only complaint is looking at a recipe and seeing an average ingredient list just to look closer and realize I actually need 5-10 more ingredients because one of the original ingredients is actually an entire other recipe in the book.

Nope. Not for the average vegan.

The recipes in this book are meh at best. Many of them are incredibly complicated, time-consuming, and don’t use ingredients widely available (sorry, I don’t know where to find a fresh lavender sprig..?). This also doesn’t carry recipes I would call comfort food. I’m all about amaranth, nooch, almond flour, etc., but I’ve never even heard of some of these ingredients. This book is just not what I thought it would be. Bored, wealthy LA housewife with no kids? This book is for you. Everyone else? Not so much.

Jenna is right, it’s a bible of a cookbook.

I LOVE this cookbook. Lauren really took the time to develop a working cookbook full of amazing delicious recipes. Jenna is right. This bitch is a bible.

Disappointed

I was disappointed to find how hard it is to make any of this. Maybe my expectations were off. But if you are looking for something approachable for your budget or cooking skills I do not recommend.

Good vegan comfort food recipes

I’m not vegan, but I’m dairy-free and eat mostly vegetarian meals so I was intrigued by the process of making your own vegan cheese-like substitutes with plant-based ingredients. I’ve only made a few recipes so far: the crabcakes, vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream, the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (a big hit at work), and the enchiladas with salsa verde cream. They were all really tasty and fairly simple to make with mostly ingredients I already had or were inexpensive and easy to find. I even replaced some ingredients with gluten-free substitutes and they’ve turned out fine. I’ve since started watching Lauren’s videos and look forward to trying many more of her recipes. Even my meat and cheese loving husband has really liked the food so far, which is a good sign. This isn’t a health food cookbook, by the way. It’s traditional comfort foods using vegan ingredients. I love it!

Fantastic recipes and instructions! Super pictures! Best Vegan cookbook EVER!

Lauren has made a tremendous name for herself on YouTube, and her Blog Site with easy to reproduce recipes and instructions for creating absolutely delicious, wholesome, healthy, and easy meals. As a vegetarian for more than 35 years, I have a TON of vegetarian cookbooks, but this one is in a class of its own! 101 fantastic meal ideas with big, glossy, color pictures of virtually every one of them. Each recipe has easy to follow instructions and options for ingredients. I have made a number of the offerings, and have not been disappointed! Recently, we made her stuffed Acorn Squash for a dinner party we hosted, and it was a fantastic hit...even with the carnivores. (Some liked the stuffing so much, that they were stealing stuffing out of other squash!) Everyone who has tried one of the recipes that we have made from Lauren's work has asked us for the recipe. I am looking forward to making her Faux Crab Cakes using artichoke hearts instead of crab. Should be a blast! I can't recommend this book highly enough! It is simple the creme de la creme of Vegan/Vegetarian fare. Get it...you'll thank me! Bon Appetit!

Bear Vegan Cookbook for non vegans! (Also great for vegans)

Gonna cut right to the chase. Are you vegan? Are trying to adopt more plant based recipes into your life? Do you Just love great food and good photography of said great food while also having access to the recipes that produced the food in the great photos!? Bottom line if you answered yes to any of those questions, you NEED THIS COOK BOOK. If you answered no to any of those questions you need Jesus, or some universal awakening. This is my favorite vegan cook book to date! No so sure about purchasing? Meander on over to YouTube and watch the “ Hot for food” YouTube channel. I rest my case! Get the book, eat good food.

One of my new favorite cookbooks

The title and cover of this cookbook caught my eye, but I almost didn't buy it because of some of the reviews saying the recipes were too complicated or long. I am SO SO glad I bought it anyway! Every recipe looks amazing, the lay out is easy to read and simple, and there are color pictures of every recipe. I like that there are really creative recipes for things I would never have thought of, and there are recipes for basic things like sauces and salad dressings. So far I've made the buffalo cauliflower burgers, the spicy black bean taquitos, and the raspberry poptarts. They were all a huge hit. And they were all pretty easy to make. I can't wait to try the rest of the recipes in this book.

Dining In For Datenight!

It is SO easy & tasty being vegan thanks to Lauren Toyota! My husband & I are both plant based eaters, but I also eat gluten free. I’m happy to report a lot of the recipes are naturally gluten free or can easily be made so by swapping out a few ingredients (except the Seitan recipes of course). We’ve devoured the Po Boy Sandwhich, Eggplant Parm w/ spaghetti, & the Buffalo Cauliflower Sandwich (her sauces are to die for by the way!!!) and the flavor was so unbelievably delicious even with the swap for gluten free bread crumbs. We also cooked the first two in the Airfryer (instead of deep frying)... so, so, so tasty! It looks like we will gladly be dining in for date night for a while!

Exceptional!

While I have a ton of vegan cookbooks, this one is special. So far, I tried the cream of broccoli soup, the comforting lasagna soup, the orange tofu & veggie fried rice and the sweet potato gnocchi. All these recipes tasted incredible! I don't have a eating disorder, but I ate all the cream of broccoli and lasagna soup in only one serving because it was that good! Lauren truly perfected these recipes. Much better than even the best take-out or restaurant. Every recipe also has a gorgeous picture. I want to try many more recipes so buying this cooking was well worth the money! Other more negative reviews pointed out the un-healthy recipes in this cooking. The word "comfort" is in the title, so the goal was certainly not to provide your "Fork over knives" kind of recipes. This book is clearly superior to other vegan comfort food cookbooks, as there are no "weird" recipes and/or flavor combination. Lauren covers all the classics - and clearly tested her recipes to perfection before publishing. Some of the recipes are also relatively healthy and she sometimes give you the choice to bake instead of deep-frying.

Recipes that are all over the Internet.

Nice enough book if you don't know much about eating Whole Foods Plant Based or Vegan but if you do a search on the Net you will find the exact same recipes every where with minor variations. Book is well written, funny and informative but otherwise nothing to get excited about. Sorry I wasted my money on even the Kindle version.

I've been waiting for it ever since and OMG is this book amazing or what

I bought this book in July 2017.. I've been waiting for it ever since and OMG is this book amazing or what? I haven't made any recipe yet because I've spent the whole afternoon just reading thru all the recipes. This weekend is going to be Hot for Food time!.. I've been your fan for at least 4 years and just wish you success and more success... you deserve it! The pictures, the ingredients, how easy to follow recipes.. This is a cookbook for vegans and non-vegans...

For Vegan Beginners & Home Chefs Alike!

There are some great sauces and dips that you'll use over and over again in here. I replace the Mac & Cheese Sauce for vodka sauce, so good! This cookbook has great range, with everything from the basics of salad dressings to some funky concoctions you wouldn't have thought up on your own. Full disclosure, every vegan cook is a little different and you'll find that once you have the ingredients the Lauren likes to use, you'll want to stick with her recipes for convenience. i.e. buying tapioca flour, miso paste, etc. and then only using 1 tablespoon in a recipe.

Game Changer

I am a huge fan of Jenna Marbles/Julien Solomita and I was introduced to this book via one of Julien's vlogs. After seeing them cook some of the recipes I bought the book on a whim and I am so glad that I did. This book, as well as the hot for food blog and YouTube videos, convinced me that going vegan wouldn't be nearly as difficult as some people make it out to be. You can be vegan and eat fantastic, flavorful food that's more than just salads (though Lauren's salads are boss). I quickly switched to an all vegan diet after getting this book and I haven't looked back since. "The Nacho Sauce" alone makes this book completely worth every penny.

A must-have for any vegan cookbook collection!

Such promise but...

Alas, many recipes have 20! or more ingredients, ugh. That's a tremendous disincentive to enter the kitchen. And as an adult veggie, frankly I have no nostalgia for childhood bacon, something the author at the outset of this cookbook (first four pages of recipes) is crazed about reimagining plant-wise. Rather odd. Prep times seem optimistic. My fault in not previewing online this cookbook that, for me, is rather useless, sorry. If I muster incredible effort, post-pandemic, and become a kitchen monk, maybe I'll revise my tough rating. I'm still looking for a healthy veggie cookbook that celebrates vegetarianism more simply and unapologetically.

Disappointing for a long time hotforfood fan

I used to be obsessed with hotforfood, but this cookbook was a big disappointment for me. A lot of the recipes are already on the blog for free, and the new recipes aren't as good in my opinion. I know Lauren really rushed to get this book out, and I think it shows. As I looked through it, there wasn't a single one that I was excited to try, and usually with a new cookbook that happens with at least 1/3 of the recipes. Basically all of the recipes are things that will take you a lot of time and will not be healthy, and that's kind of hotforfood's thing. I knew that going in, but I was still disappointed. I really wanted to support Lauren in this, but I think people would be better off just going to the blog or watching some of her older youtube videos.

Lots of prep ahead and lots of ingredients required

I really wanted to like this book. The recipes seem to be right up my alley as a person who has enjoyed "comfort food" that typically includes meat as an ingredient. Unfortunately, I have not had much success with the handful of recipes I've tried from this book. Many of the recipes have an element of "prep ahead", like a sauce, and many also require a long list of ingredients in order to make the dish delicious enough to be compared to its meat-containing counterpart. For me, the recipes require too much of a time and effort commitment for the results that I've been able to achieve. The 5-star rating reflects the quality of the book and the recipes, not my own inability to successfully execute said recipes. The book contains decent instructions and photos of what some of the recipes are supposed to look. I think this book might be a good choice for those that are craving something that resembles your typical comfort food, but maybe not for those who are a little less patient and a little less skilled in the kitchen (like me).

Snickles says buy this cookbook!

I have been waiting for this book for what seems like an eternity and it doesn't disappoint! I love Lauren and Hot For Food! If you've never watched her YouTube or made a recipe from her blog what have you been doing with your life!? I've never made a recipe of hers that I didn't enjoy. Vegan or non vegan, this is a cookbook for everyone. Most of the recipes are quick and easy and the ones that aren't are still totally worth it! Definitely my new favorite.

LOVE IT!

This book is AMAZING! My family, including my meat eating husband and 3 kids, love the recipes in this book. The directions are super simple to follow and very delicious. I really enjoyed how she put and entire section on sauces. She gives you the basics then give you ideas on how to make it unique. Haven't made a recipe out of this book yet that my whole family hasn't enjoyed. Can't wait for her to make a second one!

Looks great! Haven't used it once.

I bought this book mostly to support Lauren. LOVE her! The book looks great and her food looks yummy as always! However... I have had this for months now and have not used it once. Some of the ingredients are really not easy for me to find at all and if I buy them online they are kinda pricey considering I don't cook a lot. Looks great on the shelf tho! lol. Not bummed about buying it tho. Always happy to show support to creators! Hopefully one day I'll get around to actually using it.

Lauren Toyota is amazing!!

I love how this has so many different recipes to try, and it’s easy to follow. I’m recently vegan, but I was scared to make the change, and was scared of not knowing what to make. Or that the food wouldn’t be as good, as to what I’m used to....Lauren Toyota’s recipes are amazing and has helped me during this life style change. I’m a picky eater, and I love her recipes. If you’re choosing to go vegan, or at least to have a healthier lifestyle, I recommend her book. My boyfriend couldn’t tell the difference with her recipes, and he’s not vegan. (I didn’t tell him either) ☺️

Great book great author

Big fan of Lauren Toyota and her YouTube channel Hot for Food. Bought this book to try some of the recipes not up on their website. If you’re new to vegan cooking there will be a lot of ingredients she uses that you might have to go out of your way to find, but that shouldn’t be too hard if you have a good grocery store nearby. I also like to use this book for inspiration when I’m trying to decide on what to make for dinner. Well produced with lots of pictures.

Buy if you want to enjoy your classics with a vegan twist!

Lauren Toyota has a YouTube Channel, Hot for Food, and her recipes there are fabulous. I knew her recipes in this cookbook were going to be as awesome or even better, and I was not wrong! I already made 5 of her recipes and I am in love! I eat a vegan diet but unfortunately cannot eat nuts and seeds, so making cheese without cashews was hard since my dietary needs weren't in demand. But Lauren did make a nut-free cheese and for this delicious recipe I have no regrets!

Amazing cookbook for vegans & non-vegans!

I have been following Hot for Food on Youtube for quite a bit, and was very excited to get the cookbook. As a vegetarian, who usually eats vegan, I was looking to expand my repertoire of recipes and this book definitely fulfills that. It includes beginner recipes for someone like me as well as more advanced recipes that I will be excited to try later down the line. I appreciate that there is a wide variety of dishes because I myself like to eat different things and try new, exciting things. I find this book very accessible, most of the ingredients are easy to find and Lauren uses tools that an average kitchen would have. The pictures are amazing and make me hungry just looking at them! The instructions are very easy to follow and very detailed. Highly recommend this book to all vegans, or people who are trying to bring more vegan dishes into their life!

Hot for Food

If you're vegan this book is a must. I have made so many recipes from this book and they all turned out great. Made the cauliflower chicken last night. the seitan last week. I froze half of the seitan and made a Ruben Grill with the leftovers after we ate the saved by Seitan sandwich. All of the salad dressings are the bomb including the alioi's. I must try making the mayo again, mine didn't turn out right. I can't say enough about this book. Thank you for writing this book. I love it.

Not for me

I have always eaten healthy, though not a Vegan, I could easily be one. The recipes seemed time consuming to me and with a lot of ingredients I would have to purchase. I would love to taste the end product, but wouldn't go to the trouble of making them myself. This book would probably be a gem for a Vegan.

One of my favorite cookbooks

I LOVE this cookbook so much. I’ve been watching Hot for Food’s YouTube channel for years and have been cooking from this cookbook ever since it came out. It is one of my main go-to cookbooks in my extensive collection and I’m not even vegan. Although, I do try to eat vegan and live a more plant-based lifestyle. There are so many great options in this cookbook and it isn’t just a bunch of smoothies or buddha bowl recipes like other vegan cookbooks. As the title states, these are “comfort classics“ so there are quite a few recipes for fried food, but Lauren does offer some baking alternatives if you don’t want to deal with all the burning oil. My favorite recipes are baked bean tostadas, Herb-loaded sausage rolls, spicy black bean taquitos, lemony Parm green beans, real wonton soup, the Seitan recipes (All of them!), Buffalo cauliflower sandwich, creamy rose penne, green pea pesto, waffle-topped cottage pie, Enchiladas Verde, cinnamon rolls, baked blueberry cheesecake, the nacho sauce(!!!), and all the dressing recipes. Honestly, I really wasn’t a fan of seitan until I made her recipe and now making her Gyro wrap with the dressing gives me life! Go make it now and enjoy life!

THIS IS THE BEST VEGAN COOKBOOK ON THIS PLANET

THIS IS THE BEST VEGAN COOKBOOK ON THIS PLANET!!! If you want to be vegan this book is for sure a necessity, I’m a southern vegetarian always needing new ideas and this book is so perfect! Make your own bacon, cheese sauce, mayo, and there are tons of snacks and entrees and appetizers and soups you need this book! I’ve been watching her on YouTube for so long and her recipes Never disappoint !!

A great collection of Lauren’s recipes!

First off, Lauren Toyota is my favorite vegan YouTuber. I knew I was going to like the recipes before I got the book. But the book still exceeded my expectations. It’s well laid out, gorgeous pictures, and easy to follow recipes. There’s not a lot of storytelling, which I VERY MUCH APPRECIATE. This cook book is very good for making recipes for the non vegans as well as vegans in your life. My kids have liked everything I’ve tried so far!

I Love Hot For Food!!!

So glad i pre-ordered my cookbook. When I received it i was stocked and loved it after watching Hot For Food on youtube and basically stalking the recipes online. My non-vegan mom would even cook some of the recipes. Then i heard Lauren would be in Las Vegas the same time as i was in town for EDC i got to go and meet her. She also autographed my book. I LOVE HOT FOR FOOD!!!

If you like good vegan food, this is a must-have

Such great recipes in this awesome cookbook. We've been fans of Lauren Toyota's for a while and had tried a few other recipes so buying this was a no brainer. My daughter, who loves to cook, said while we were on quarantine, she had to do something productive so I bought this for her. I've been eating like a Queen! Everything we've made (probably about 50% of the recipes), has been delicious. If you're vegan or thinking about trying a plant based diet, this is a must have in your collection.

Excellent Vegan Cookbook

This is an excellent vegan cookbook that I’ve been having a lot of fun cooking my way through. Lots of whole foods, very few “fake” vegan ingredients. Everything has been delicious. Faves so far are the Buffalo Cauliflower Burgers and the Spicy Peanut Noodles. I’m currently writing my grocery list with a bunch of ingredients from the recipes so I can make more! In the meantime I just like to look through it almost daily, deciding what I want to make. It has beautiful pictures and interesting writing.

Lauren is a creative GENIUS.

I've been following Lauren on Youtube for years and am always amazed at her creativity. She has the ability to make the food I loved before I went plant-based into options that I love even more than the originals. THIS BOOK ROCKS. I can't wait to cook my way through it. Y'all, for real, her recipe style is approachable and attainable and the results blow me out of the water time and time again. I'm so impressed at all of her new recipes -- Big Fat Greek Potato Salad ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Lauren, you're amazing, and I am so proud of you.

My new favorite Vegan cookbook!

I have been on a plant based diet for only 10 months. I have 3 other vegan cookbooks that are all good but I still felt like I was missing out. I don't feel that way any more! The crab cakes, fish sandwich, lasagna soup and buffalo dip are amazing. There is nothing I've made that hasn't been great. I am also gluten free and have been able to modify most of the recipes (not the sausage rolls). Make sure and order some TVP while you are at it, it's in a few of the recipes and I have not been able to find it in the local markets, even the specialty ones.

A must-have for any vegan cookbook collection!

Lauren makes cooking exciting and fun!

I'm a huge of Lauren on her youtube channel "Hot for Food", and bought this book to show support! I appreciate that this book is one for pleasing the taste buds. There's a time for health and nutritional education, but this book ( and LT's cooking in gen ) is more about creating something comforting & delicious, and learning how to doing it from scratch! This is the book i'm happy to have around , to prepare for a party/date/etc. I know I can find something that will bring the herbivores and omnivores together!

THE vegan cookbook. Buy this.

I found out about this cookbook from the Jenna and Julien podcast. They talked about it really highly, and I’m extremely pleased with it! Her recipe for buffalo cauliflower is the best I’ve ever made. My husband and I agree that the recipe for orange tofu has the absolute best orange sauce recipe. The sour cream is delicious as a condiment or as a base for dips. I mean really- this book has so many great looking recipes, including wonderful sauces and deserts.

Great value, great recipes, great cook book!

This book was the last push I needed to go vegan. I love the nacho cheese recipe, the sour cream recipe when mixed with mashed potatoes makes the best mash potatoes I've ever had! The buffalo cauliflower sandwich, saved by seitan, the vegan mayo, the ranch, all of the recipes that I have tried I have LOVED. It's such a beautiful cookbook in general too! Absolutely well worth the $.

Best cookbook for newbies - made me love a plant-based diet!

I feel very fortunate as this was my first vegan cookbook when I recently decided to go plant-based for health reasons. The recipes are easy to follow and the food is spectacular. I've been a loyal meat-eater my entire life and was intimidated by the idea of such a drastic change in lifestyle. However the amazing, comforting recipes in this book have absolutely convinced me that meat and other animal products are now totally optional. I could have them, but with food this good, I'm not missing a thing 🙂

Buy it

This is an amazing cookbook. I have many vegan books but this is my favorite. I bought bith the kindle and the hard copy. The kindle is at a give away price. Thought there might be a problem with it but no, its fine. Every page is a yummy surprise. The first time i read through it I kept chuckling at how each recipe was even more exciting ( and vegan decadent) than the previous one. This woman is truly Hot for Food! .

Amazing

I am so happy for Lauren! I’ve been a fan of not only her but her food since the tiny little kitchen. Her recipes changed how I was transitioning from a standard American diet to a Vegan diet that actually tasted amazing. I owe her tons with how much she helped me. Every recipe I have tried out of the book has been amazing. Easy to follow and great tips along the way. Anyone with a stove top can make the recipes with her guidance.

Vegan or not, you need this cookbook!

First of all, Lauren Toyota has the wittiest personality and I adore her YouTube channel. I felt that the least I could do was buy her book after the endless hours of vegan knowledge and entertainment she has provided me over the years for free. I knew it would be good, but this blew me away. Thank you Lauren for this - the sauces alone make it worth the price of admission. Beautifully shot photographs and easy to follow recipes with readily accessible ingredients make this the best vegan cookbook on the market. All I can say is thank you! You make being vegan more fun than ever!

Vegan food to be excited about

Our family tries to adhere to the whole foods plant based diet which ends up being a lot of the same healthy plant based meals (grains, greens, and beans). I'm excited to use these recipes instead of our weekly treat/meat meal as we gravitate away from meat and become 100% plant based. I can't wait to try the apple fritters, the Thai peanut sauce noodles, and the ramen. All of these recipes look delicious! I love watching hot for food on YouTube. Lauren has managed to bring her spunky attitude to life in this cookbook. 10/10 would buy again.

Laurens got it right!

Lots of good vegan food to remind you of recipes you used to eat before going vegan. The recipes tend to be a little more involved but you can't beat the end result. They're also a bit higher in fat than what I'm used to, so if possible I leave the fat out, make a substitution, or just go with it if it's a special occasion.

Lauren Toyota is a Vegan God

After having this book and being obsessed with the Hot for Food channel for over a year now I can confidently say EVERY PERSON needs this book. I have made pretty much everything in it and it NEVER disappoints. You know when you make a recipe from a book and it just doesn't work? That never happens. Lauren is so thoughtful she even lists the ingredients in the order you add them to the dish. The brownies are the best vegan brownies ever (yes it will look like a ball of dough) BUT IT WORKS, TRUST THE PROCESS. That's what I've learned about her recipes, is that she must test them endlessly because they just always work out. Love yah Lauren and Snickles! <3 TLDR: If you're vegan you need it. If you aren't you still need it.

A must-have for any vegan cookbook collection!

Very satisfying and delicious recipes in this book (coming from a meat-eater).

I'm trying to eat less meat and dairy nowadays so this cookbook definitely caught my eye (as well as my husband's). I've already made two recipes from this book (the buffalo cauliflower sandwich featured on the cover and the best vegan ramen) and I have to say that this cookbook is a definite winner! The ramen recipe was one of the best ramens I've made at home and it was very satisfying for a meat-eating person. Two friends ate the ramen with us and they said it was the best homemade vegan ramen that they've had. The cauliflower recipe was equally as delicious and it was very simple to make. It is oven-"fried" (but still just as crispy as if it was deep-fried)! I have no negative comments about the book - it is very easy to read and to follow along with the recipes. I am really glad that we decided to order this!

Beautiful cookbook

This cookbook has beautiful photographs and delicious recipes. I've only made a few things so far, but the nacho cheese sauce was worth the whole purchase. I left out the peppers and tomato paste from that recipe and had a fantastic general "cheddar" type sauce that I've used in several different recipes. Can't wait to try so many of these recipes!

A little disappointing.

I really love Lauren Toyota and her Youtube channel, but this book was really just a miss for me. Every recipe has such a long list of ingredients and takes such a long time to make, that I've only had time to try 2 recipes. The two recipes I did try to make didn't turn out so well, unfortunately. I don't know if the book was rushed, and thus a lack of recipe testing occurred, but it's really been a disappointment. Every time I open the book to see if I should give it another shot, I realize that I really can't afford to buy 15+ ingredients for one dish, and I don't have 2 hours to make it.

Plant based diet or not, you need this!

I came across this book from Lauren’s YouTube channel. I was anticipating the release of it. I absolutely love this cook book. It is so easy to follow along to and has recipes that I’m consistently using. I would definitely recommend whether you are vegan or not. The e-cookbook that’s comes with your purchase is an added bonus but has the best pecan tarts !!

This vegan cook book is awesome!!!!

I own a lot of vegan cook books. This one is by far my favorite. My husband and I cook a lot and we love our vegan comfort food but also enjoy eating healthy. We bought an airfryer and use that instead of a fry daddy or using a pot of oil. It works great, you just have to spray everything with oil first. Our favorite recipe is the beer battered "fillet o' tempeh", sooooo good. For Real, I would give it 6 stars if I could.

YUMMMMMMM!!!!!

I've been following Hot For Food on Youtube for years and waited for Lauren Toyota's cookbook for months! It's a gorgeous cookbook with truly delicious recipes! Easy to follow directions & written with Lauren's signature humor and directness. This cookbook is fast becoming my favorite!

Great vegan book

My entire family loves this book! The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because it doesn’t have serving size or nutrition facts. We make the saved by seitan (a great source of protein) and I like to count calories and carbs and so on.

You NEED this cookbook!

This cookbook is truly AMAZING! Every recipe is delicious! Lauren really knows how to properly combine flavors. My husband and kids rave about the recipes I make from this cookbook! Definitely try her buffalo cauliflower sandwiches and the loaded baked potato fries! SO GOOD! Worth every penny!

SO much fun!

This cookbook is a great addition to a vegan cookbook collection. Most importantly here- the food is GOOD. I've made five recipes and all are great. While a lot of recipes are healthy, this isn't a health food book - there's sometimes sugar and deep frying- but nothing is over the top bad for you, and a lot of it can be made healthier by cutting the sugar or using an air fryer. Lauren's main focus is on taste and flavor- and there's plenty in this book!

Go Lauren!!

Lauren Toyota did the damn thing. I want to eat everything in this book. The recipes are so well thought out and very exciting. The layout of the book is great and there are pictures for nearly all the recipes!!!! Overall A+ The only thing I don’t like is how the cover is matte. The grease from you hands can make marks on the front and back cover. Overall a big win for the vegan community!

This book makes me hungry

One of the all time best vegan cook books out there! I love being vegan but, unfortunately, there are some mediocre recipes out there on the internet sometimes... Do yourself a favor and buy this book so you have a plethora of recipes to choose from that are all incredible. I have tried recipes for several similar concepts that just weren't good, so I was hesitant thinking this book would be the same. So glad I gave it a chance to prove me wrong. I stay strapped with this baby on my kitchen counter all the time.

Not a fan

I thought this would provide vegan swaps for comfort food - it doesn't recipes are long and sometimes complicated

Feeding your face and your soul

I love this cookbook. I'm not so much a health focused vegan, I do it for the animals, and I miss some of my favorite comfort foods. This book helps with that. Definitely some heavy recipes, but they are so good for when I'm tired of veggie stir-fry. And the things I share from this book are a hit! Showing people how eating vegan doesn't mean you have to sacrifice flavor.

Love Lauren, love Hot for Food and love this book!

This book is perfection! The ingredients are easy to find, the recipes are easy to follow, the food is delicious and no animals have to die. I’ve already made 3 recipes and my husband who eats meat devoured all three. Success!!!

The Monte Cristo is one of the tastiest things I have ever made!

This might be a bit early for the review but the Monte Cristo was the best thing I have ever made and I can't wait to try the rest! Just that one recipe was worth the money! Already made it twice!

My teenage grandson came to spend two weeks; I am a vegan. We were both pleased.

Eating vegan you are always looking for ways to prepare the food you enjoy - however - the different ways food textures feels like in your mouth enhance the eating enjoyment in addition to just flavors. This books helps educate the vegan to understand different food flavors and food textures.

I love Lauren and this book is great

I love Lauren and this book is great. It's more than just a list of recipes. It really gives you an idea of how knowing how to make a few different things can lead to so many different types of meals through mixing and matching sauces, proteins and veggies, and carb bases. The taco page is a great example of this. The pictures are beautiful and the recipes are well written. Thank you Lauren!

LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE!

Vegan genius has blown our minds with her cookbook. If you're here, trying to read reviews to convince yourself to buy it, don't kid yourself. You already know you should buy it or you wouldn't be here. Why? Because Lauren Toyota is above the law!!!

This book redefines comfort foods

I love the healthy Whole Food Plant Based #WFPB life style to optimize health and nutrition and often reverse disease. The greatest challenge is redefining what is your new comfort foods. I found quite a few gems in this book. Highly recommend.

An awesome cookbook. We love everything about it

An awesome cookbook. We love everything about it. Great book at a great price. We received it the day it came out which was awesome.

A vegan's comfort food dream come true and a must-buy!!

THIS COOKBOOK IS AWESOME!!!! I've checked out several vegan cookbooks and this is the the best yet. Lauren nailed it with almost everything, from easy to find, realistic ingredients to pictures for every (mouth watering) recipe. The dishes are the ones we all crave, vegan or not, as well as modern and healthier than the old-school carnivorous version.

Hot For Food cookbook is 5-Star!!

I thoroughly enjoy watching the author’s YouTube channel, Hot For Food, and her cookbook is the perfect complement to the creative, fun, and inspiring style she projects on her weekly vlogs. I’m new at cooking vegan and each recipe I’ve made from Lauren’s collection has been tasty, fun to make, and added to the “make it again” list.

There are better

I think the recipes in "the China Study: all-star collection" are better

Great useable recipes

Recipes for the everyday person, easy to find ingredients, simple to make when life is busy. Her personality and love for healthy vegan foods show up throughout the book. It is a must have book for every person that cares about adding tasteful plant foods to their meals.

My most used cookbook!!

My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE vegan cookbook! Lauren Toyota is a food genius. I have so many vegan cookbooks, but this is always the first one I reach for. I can’t even choose a favorite recipe because they’re all delicious. Buy this, you won’t regret it!!

Delicious and fun recipes for vegan & non-vegans

Perfect for the vegan that wants some old favs like ranch dressing, Parmesan, sour cream (which I never liked before). Fun recipes and the cookies are the best! Another book I’ve given as gifts to several non-vegan friends. A hit for sure

Great Selection of Tasty Plant Based Food

Great Selection of Plant Based Recipes that are easy to put together and very good to eat. The flavors are outstanding! . Very glad I purchased this cookbook.

Great recipies

I’ve tried a bunch of these recipes and I’ve loved pretty much all of them. I probably wouldn’t recommend this book to a beginner vegan though as the recipes can be somewhat “complex” as compared to simpler recipes you can find on Pinterest. But for me this is a great go to book I use it all the time!

Lauren Toyota is above the law

Beautiful pictures, easy to understand recipes, and amazing food, all written by the vegan goddess herself, Lauren Toyota🙌🏼 So happy with this book, I need to get myself an oil thermometer to make those apple fritters ASAP Update: Months later I’ve worked my way through more of the cookbook and I’m a huge fan, no recipe has done me wrong (but duh, I didn’t expect any less from Lauren!) SO excited for another book to come! Picture included of the southern fried cauliflower

Best Cookbook Ever

I've been a fan of Hot For Food for years! When she came out with the cookbook I quickly picked it up and I'm just realizing I've never written a review! Everything I try from her youtube and the cookbook comes out delicious. Seriously, I don't know how she's achieved this. But each recipe is super easy to follow as long as you read it thoroughly. 100% worth picking up vegan or non vegan the food is AMAZING.

A must-have for any vegan cookbook collection!

Very good buy

Amazing book with some really great recipes. You will not be disappointed. Also j&j indorse it so why not. Lauren Toyota is above the law!

Lauren is forever the vegan queen!

I follow Lauren and hotfor food on instagram and since becoming vegan I use a lot of her recipes. It is quite amazing how she has not only the food but the flavorful herbs, spices, etc to make a rather gourmet meal and at the same time appeasing. I always check the recipes in the book to add ingredients to my list before I do my shopping. Thanks Lauren for keeping is real!

Love it!

Although I try to eat more healthfully on a regular basis (less oil, etc.), I’ve found every recipe I’ve tried in this book to be amazing! The crab cakes are the best I’ve ever had (including real crab, when I ate such things!), no joke!! The seitan gyros, chocolate cake, and chocolate buttercream icing were big hits at a family birthday get together recently - and they are all big meat/dairy eaters and vegan naysayers! Very happy with this cookbook :)

101 Vegan Recipes

Great book with lots of recipes. Great recipe arrangement into their chapters with something to satisfy the appetite whether it be sweet, savoury, spicy, creamy or salty. Something for everybody. The pictures are awesome as well as the recipes are easy to follow when making them. Love this book and I highly recommend it.

I ADORE this cook book!!

There is hardly a page I've not read 10 times or a recipe that I have not made at least once. Been a vegetarian for 10yrs and many fresh takes on some good food!! love this!!!!!!!

Love it

I have tons of cook books & I don’t use half of them . I have made a lot of the recipes in this book & they are easy & so good. And it’s stuff we want to eat

Excellent intro to plant-based eating, and great for those missing their favorites

I've made three recipes so far (Saved by Seitan), Maple Mustard Dip and Herb Loaded Sausage Rolls) and they've all been superb. The writing is clear and the pictures are beautiful. No obscure or hard to find ingredients.

Has pictures for everything! Perfect beginner plant based recipes!

Highly recommend if you’re looking for plant based recipes that are good and have a lot of flavor. It has pictures for everything! And it has allll the recipes you could possibly need. Me and my husband consistently use it and the ingredients are easy to find and most of the time I already have it in my house.

I recommend this book to anyone who is having a hard ...

This book is a vegan staple! Lauren Toyota put heart and soul into this book and it shows. Every recipe I've tried is even more delicious than the last, I recommend this book to anyone who is having a hard time going vegan! Fantastic vegan cookbook!

AMAZING COOKBOOK

My sister is newly vegan and was struggling to find quality recipes. I bought this on a whim and she loves it! Yummy yummy food.10/10 recommend.

So far Loving it

just received my book and i must say the recipes look easy to follow. I love that there are pictures of EVERY meal!!!!!! Which makes me excited to try them out.

Can you say delicious?!

I've been following Lauren and Hotforfood for a while on YouTube, and when I heard she was doing a cookbook, I was thrilled. This book has some of my favorite recipes I've seen on their YouTube, and plenty that I am having fun with. Everything has been delicious, easy, and something even my non vegan husband loves. My favorite cookbook yet!

This is a good book but perhaps not for beginners.

So many beautiful pictures. I would say this book is for people who have been cooking for a while. I bought another vegan book that I hope will be simpler.

A little too gourmet..

I love Lauren and the hot for food channel but this cookbook is just not for me. To me, comfort food is easy and delicious and I wouldn't call any of these recipes particularly easy. Many recipes involve making your own dough, sauce from scratch, speciality ingredients, etc. I've reached for this cookbook maybe once or twice since I received it in February. I may bust it out next time I have a dinner party or friends over but these are not recipes for every day. I'd highly recommend Isa does it or thug kitchen for more straightforward recipes that still pack a lot of flavor.

Not even a vegan

I bought this for my SIL who is turning vegan and ended up buying it for myself because the recipes are that good

It's an ok book

I really wanted to love it. But I just didn't find one recipe that i loved. I can even honestly say that I tried all of the recipes, even the condiments. I use this book throughout the year for my "vegan weeks". Over all its just an ok recipe book.

You guys!

I have been watching her YouTube channel for awhile now and couldnt wait to order this. Literally because I preordered it and counted down until it got here. It was completely worth the wait. The recipes are amazing and there's beautiful pictures to go along with them. First thing i made was the buffalo cauliflower sandwich. My husband took a bite and sait it was f#$&@!* amazing. That was coming from a meat eater. Give this book a chance. You wont regret it!

Yum!

I have tried a few of the recipes and they are Yummy! No crazy ingredient to get. Beautiful pics and easy to follow instructions!

Great foods that taste great (even to non vegans)

Saw this book used by Julien Solomita to make pop tarts and checked it out. Wow! This book makes cooking fun, easy, and as a non vegan cooking for vegan family so tasty. I love the foods in here and can’t tell I’m not eating meet. Jackfruit pulled pork, wow, cookies, yum. This book is great.

YUM!!

Hands down this is the tastiest cookbook I’ve purchased in a long time...and I have almost all the vegan cookbooks. :) The food is truly comforting and will keep you full and satisfied while incorporating more fruits and veggies into your diet. Highly recommend this book and talk it up to everyone I know.

Great Cookbook

I love Lauren Toyota so this might be a tad biased. The best part of this cook book is that there is a picture with every recipe! I like to visually see what I am making!

Deliciousness!

A really great cookbook. Super easy and really delicious. Can not believe how delicious. Your nonvegan friends will love the food in this cookbook too..

Great recipe book to impress others

Lots of good recipes some a bit more complicated than others but friends and family really love them.

Easy to follow recipes.

Family members are vegan, I use this book to prepare vegan dishes when they visit.

Good but not for me.

Not bad but not the best. I bought it bc an influencer I like recommended it but its a bit complicated and not really worth it to me. The few recipes I have tried from it I didn't even really like but I still have hope for it. Its a good cookbook but not for me.

Amazing Recipes! Great Vegan Meals!

This is quite possibly the most amazing Vegan cookbook out there. My wife and I started eating healthy and this was a perfect landing strip to get back into the healthy mindset. The recipes are super easy to follow, and absolutely delicious. I highly, highly recommend purchasing this book and do not for any reason skip out on making the Buffalo Cauliflower or Orange Tofu Vegetable Fried Rice!

So many great recipes!

Nowadays it’s getting easier to find fantastic vegan recipes and Lauren Toyota does not disappoint with her HFF Vegan Comfort Classics cookbook. I love her blog, but it’s great having some of her recipes sitting in my kitchen!

Best Vegan Cookbook to date!

Every single recipe here is simple, with easy to get ingredients and most importantly VEGAN DELICIOUSNESS! My favorites are the cauliflower sandwich and the pop tarts! Haven’t gotten through the whole book and have quite a bit to go!

Simple recipes good tasting vegan comfort food.

I love this cookbook all the recipes are very simple. I've made the Creamy Rośe penne and the Fudgy Brownies. They were amazing! I highly recommend this cookbook if your just looking for great vegan comfort food.

Fantastic cookbook

Hands down this is the best vegan cookbook. Every last one of the recipes I have tried have all been a winner. Even family members who aren’t vegan enjoy these recipes. You won’t be disappointed in this. Some of the recipes require you to make some stuff ahead but it’s all very simple. Enjoy!

This book is a dream

This book is the bomb! Every recipe I have tried so far has been incredible, as to be expected. So worth the money! My favorite dish so far is the Fettuccine Alfredo, would highly recommend.

Good book

I bought this on release but never reviewed. We have tried many of the recipes and have enjoyed them thoroughly. We bookmark the best ones and there are many bookmarked pages. My favorite is the lemony green beans.

Yum yummy!

My family loves vegan food now thanks to this book!! So many great easy to follow recipes and they taste amazing!!! The cauliflower sandwich is a huge hit in my house

I love the book and Lauren Toyota

I love the book and Lauren Toyota! I have made a couple of recipes from the book so far and they weren't too bad.

Vegan comfort food!

This book is filled with comfort food that will make you go back for seconds. The recipes are food that has been transformed from alot of the food I grew up on to Vegan!

Dont miss out - Excellent cookbook

Great book. Recipes are creative, easy to follow and best of all delicious. There are so many fun recipes, you have something for everyone. There are TONS of recipes. I have had this book over a year and I am still going through recipes. The photos are fantastic. The writing is excellent. I love Lauren Toyota and I cannot wait until she releases another book.

Five Stars

I really love this book and imagine I will use it for years to come!

Where to start

Lots of amazing ideas. Now I just have to decide where to start

Great tasting recipes

One of my daughters favorite gifts! She watches the authors YouTube videos and has been a fan for some time. She has loved every recipe she has made from here and cannot wait to try more.

LOVE

I love Lauren and Hot for Food!!! I’ve made so many of these recipes and not one complaint. It’s super heavy on deep frying, but I just use my air fryer instead for ease/health reasons and it’s worked just fine so far. Make the eggplant parm and the Sea food chowder first!

Wow! Just wow!

I had no idea veganism could be so delicious. I purchased this book thinking there might not be a whole lot I could eat but Every thing I’ve tried from it has been absolutely delicious! It’s helped to make my journey into veganism that much more easier. My thanks to the author.

Not vegan and I love this book!

I love this book. I'm not vegan, I'm lactose intolerant and I love these recipes. Great recipes that are tasty and very interesting. Highly recommend this book to foodies who are interested in delicious food!

What a book 😋😋😋

I haven't cooked anything yet but I just got the book best book ever I showed my mom and she got so excited too we are planning on trying everything in the book and I'm a big meat eater but this book has me thinking of changing that... 😋😋😋

Yas Queen

If you like amazing food you'll love this. Vegan or not or just trying to be more plant based - try this! The recipes in here are some of the best I have ever had. My carnivore friends love the bacon mac and cheese skillet and I'm obsessed with it. This book has helped me transition to veganism and I recommend it to everyone. Lol, Lauren when is the second coming out ;)

Tasty, tasty things

I decided that if I go full vegan, having a book full of delicious tasty recipes would be a good start.

Hot for food

This is an awesome book. Lauren put a lot of love and energy into this and it shows. I can't wait to try every single recipe in this book. She makes transitioning into a vegan much easier.

Great!

Excited to try some of the recipes! Love her youtube channel.

Fun vegan cookbook

Already found five recipes I need to try this weekend!

Best Vegan Cookbook for beginners.

I had to purchase Vegan Comfort Classic after seeing the cover photo (mouth drooling). The recipes in the book are simple, easy to make, and taste wonderful. This cookbook is excellent for beginner Vegans like me, and I recommend that you add this to cookbook library.

Excelente libro de recetas variadas

No soy vegana pero mi papá si lo es el libro tiene recetas deliciosas 😋 y saludables. Me encanta.

Perfection

One of my favorite recipe books! Beautiful pictures and delicious recipes.

My Favorite!

This is my favorite cookbook! There are so many good recipes here and I lovee that there is a section in the beginning that tells you the different ingredients that will be used in all of the recipes.

Review for Vegan Foods Recipe Book

I love this cookbook.. so many easy and delicious recipes... i have tried at least 5 recipes so far for my daughter who is vegan and they are all delicious.. great sauces to whip up and lots of comfort foods.. I highly recommend.

Fabulous

This book is great! The recipes are easy to follow, the potential for customization is remarkable and the pictures alone are enough to make your mouth water!

YUMM

Have made NUMEROUS meals from this cookbook and have not been disappointed at all. Very easy to modify many for gluten free needs as well.

Favorite vegan cookbook!

I have like... 5 or 6 vegan cookbooks. I use this one the most by FAR. All of the recipes I’ve made are spectacular. My favorite so far is the fried tofu salad! Omg! 😍

Delicious Vegan Food but mostly omnivore food veganized

Great Book for vegans that want comfort food (based on the Omnivore lifestyle). Lauren is awesome. She has sass and wit and humor and great ideas. I’d give her 5 stars if she had less meat and cheese substitute and more plant ideas but that wasn’t the point of the book so my stars are skewed.

Hot for Food Vegan Comfort Classics: 101 Recipes to Feed Your Face

Easy to follow. Filled with colorful pictures. Highly recommended

Gift for a Friend

My friend had only good things to say about this book. The recipes are easy to follow and lots of good choices.

A nice selection of "familiar" recipes for my omni family members

Not too much to say besides YUM! A nice selection of "familiar" recipes for my omni family members, but still all fun recipes. The pictures are nice and vibrant. It'll help you become a better cook and bring you out of the box a bit.

Yummy!

So many unique and delicious recipes in this cookbook! My husband and I absolutely love it!

Five Stars

great recipes, keep in mind that the recipes do yield enough to feed 4-6 people.

Makes Vegan Fun!

So far, I have made 3 recipes out of the book. The spices for the buffalo cauliflower was a bit salty and spicy for my taste, but it definitely has a kick! The photos are beautiful, the menu choices are fun and a bit junky but it definitely makes veggie life more fun! Narrative is very cute too! Love it so far!

Yummy

Love hot for food and can’t wait to try out more recipes, love having them all in one place

Super awesome Yummy food!

This is a super awesome reference for my vegan sauces and cooking efforts. I especially love the vegan bacon using tofu. Yum! I may even convert my husband. Thanks Lauren!

I love this cookbook.

Each recipe that my husband and I have tried from this cookbook have been truly amazing. Each ingredient, proportion and way that Lauren lays out the recipe works so well, and this is coming from two complete amateur cooks.

Glad it is on our cookbook shelf.

Decent book with some good recipes.

Ultimate Vegan comfort food cookbook!

Always loved Lauren’s recipes so I knew this book would be great! Loved every recipe I’ve made! Check out Hot For Food on you tube and try a few recipes, you’ll then know you need this cookbook!

Amazing recipes of comfort food but vegan

Gift for vegan nephew amazing recipes to make comfort food

Love the book

I love that this book contains photos unlike so many other vegan recipe books I've purchased. High quality book for a very affordable price.

PS the Buffalo Cauliflower sandwich is life changing.

cruelty free calories

this is the most unique and creative cookbook i own. The recipes are so inventive and SO good. listen, new vegans: don't be like me and try to live off of spinach and chickpeas for six months in the name of animal kindness- buy this book instead.

Pretty book with approachable recipes

I like Lauren Toyota and Hot for Food's approach to good food that also happens to be vegan. Most are pretty approachable and all are delicious. Yummmm

enjoyed!

have made a few dishes from this and enjoyed them all

very helpful

help cooking vegan

Pictures and presentation is AWESOME in this book

Pictures and presentation is AWESOME in this book. We've only tried a few recipes so far and they've been really good.

Lauren is above the law

High quality. LOTS of pictures. Thick, strong pages and food so good looking you'll be drooling on the pages. You can tell a lot of work went into this book.

Best Vegan Cookbook EVER!

Highly recommend this cookbook to vegans and non-vegans. Every recipe I have made so far from this book has turned out amazing. I can't wait to cook my way through the entire thing! I don't know how Lauren Toyota does it, but I hope she comes out with more cookbooks!

Great

Love the recipes in here!

Great recipes

Bought this as a gift. So glad I did! It’s my daughter’s favorite vegan cookbook! A must buy for any one wanting to eat less meat but still eat great food. Great recipes for full vegan ‘s!

Must have cooking book

Some really tasty recipes! I have yet to try the cheese recipes but I’m looking forward to it

Nice quick reference for newbie Vegans

Love the recipes, especially those that include onions and mushrooms!

It’s very well organized and easy to follow

Omg this is a life saver. You will never have to cheat on your vegan diet again. But it now you will not regret it.

Good tastie

Easy to use

Great recipes for vegans!

I bought it for a friend of mind. She loves it! Thanks!

LOVE

Awesome cook book with really great recipe, I bought it because jenna marbles and Julien solomita recommended it!

Great Vegan Cookbook

Great recipes for Vegan cooking.

Very good recipes

The recipes in these are soooo good! They’re easy to make and a lot of variety! I love Lauren!

One of my favorite cookbooks

Love this. Made a few meals and they’ve been incredible so far. Philly Cheesesteak is fantastic and the Crabless Cakes are perfect.

Probably the Best Vegan Cookbook Out There

I love this book. I think my girlfriend and I have made about 1/2 of the recipes so far and they have all been SO delicious! Really serves as a springboard on how to start experimenting with your own vegan recipes after learning how certain items taste together. Looking forward to making more!

Love Hot for Food!

I love her recipes! I can't wait for her new cookbook. Her food is delicious! I watch her videos all the time! She should colaborate with Gasz Oatly from AdvanGardeVegan!

Great winter food book

Although I eat mainly raw. My one meal is especially during winter is comfort food. Plus I simply love Lauren and want to support. Great recipes.

Easy recipes, crazy delicious results

These recipes are so tasty and easy to follow. My personal favorite is the vegan ranch - I can’t believe how simple it was! Lauren is a freaking genius and I can’t wait to make my way through this whole book.

Good to have

Good cook book for healthy food, not vegan but enjoy healthy food

Long cooking process

The multiple cooking process makes it difficult and takes a long time to cook one recipe. Most of the recipes are also fried.

Wouldn't believe it's not meat

Tastes amazing

Great

It’s a favorite of my house

Get it!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this cookbook! I am waiting for an ingredient from amazon to come in so I can make my first recipe tomorrow!

Awsome

Love it , we use this cook book a lot .

You need this in your life!

Awesome book and recipes. Super easy and delicious. Loved everything I’ve made so far, and my boyfriend who is not vegan loves it as well.

Must have for all vegans!

Every single dish I've tried to make from this cook book has been a smash hit. As Jenna Marbles would say "Lauren Toyota is above the law!". She's amazing and this cook book is everything I expected and more.
