Surrender to vows.

Staff Sergeant Alexei Dvorkin has come a long way since being turned into a metahuman, and all he wants to do is marry the man he loves. A wedding is easy, but it’s the honeymoon where his past unexpectedly catches up with him.

A future together.

All Agent Sean Delaney wanted was a romantic honeymoon with his new husband. When he and Alexei stumble into a fellow operative’s mission on the luxury gambling resort island Fortuna-sur-mer, they get more than they bargained for in their newly-minted civilian lives.

Destined to burn.

Forced to choose between staying and joining the mission or leaving to stay safe and postpone their honeymoon, Alexei and Sean make the only decision they can—to fight.

Great read.

I enjoyed Fire in the Heart. This wedding was a hard-fought prize for Sean and Alexei. Past experiences tried to tear them apart, but they came out of it stronger and more in love than ever. I love the differences in personality that Sean and Alexei have. They should not work, but they do. They complete each other in ways that only true love can. They accept each other as they are. They are still their own person but are MORE now that they have each other. I laughed more than I would have thought possible with this type of book. Then I shed a few tears. Then I laughed thru the tears. The author took me on a mini rollercoaster ride of emotions with this novella, and she kept my heart in my throat, for one reason or another, throughout it all. This author has a touch for giving raw, undiluted gore and chaos, but she softens it with raw, undiluted passion, which I thoroughly enjoy. And now she has given us this funny, sweet, touching wedding that shows the softer side of these strong characters all the while proving that they are, and always will be, the original Alpha Team. The honeymoon takes a wide turn from the sexy times with which it started. The action and intrigue are intense and fast-paced, and the interaction with other metahumans and agencies is exciting. The author has drawn a lot of beautiful, interesting characters for this series. I am often on the edge of my seat, tense and fearful for them all. I love all these guys. Getting to spend more time with the Alpha Team is a treat for me, and seeing Alexei and Sean get their HEA touches my heart. I, as always, look forward to more from this author.

A Honeymoon to Remember

Fire in the Heart is the last book in the mini-novella Metahuman Files: Classified series but it’s really book 5.6 in the Metahumans Files series. This book should not be read on its own and is best read after In the Requiem (Metahuman Files book 5) and before In the Solace (Metahumans Files book 6). Reading New Horizons (Metahuman Files: Classified boo2/Metahumans Files book 5.5) is not necessary, but I still suggest reading that one since it’s so good. Finally Alexei and Sean get married in a beautiful ceremony that fit them so perfectly. However, trouble follows them when they go on their romantic honeymoon, and even in the middle of paradise, Alexei and Sean must fight as Alpha Team. Although this is a short novella, Hailey Turner does a fantastic job of packing it full of emotion, romance, incredibly hot sex, and intense action. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and fully recommend it.

Alexei and Sean’s honeymoon mayhem

It’s no secret Alexei and Sean are my favorite characters in the Metahuman world so it’s no suprise I liked this book. A beautiful wedding, wonderful friends and family, and a decadent honeymoon on a floating island. Alexei and Sean running headfirst into mayhem on their honeymoon? Not how I would of pictured it but it couldn’t of gone any other way. The boys after all are danger magnets. Great story.

The first half is a little slow but since it's a novella it doesn't take long to get through it

They have an uneventful wedding but the honeymoon becomes a reluctant mission. Nothing is resolved but Sean and Alexei have a nice time overall. It's pretty obvious there are more novellas planned for the Metahuman series.

Good read

Great addition to the Metahuman series. This novella focuses on Sean and Alexi, marriage, interrupted honeymoon and an incomplete mission. Boy, did they get fooled. Maybe next time!

wedding time

yayyy!! Finally Alexei and Sean tie the knot....and then get tied up in another case on their honeymoon. This was fast paced and perfect. Loved it!

The wedding was adorable

3-3.5 Stars I love Turner’s books, and they are in my top 5 favorite authors ATM, but this one didn’t really work for me. Full disclosure: I’m not a huge fan of Sean and Alexei anyway, so I probably wasn’t as excited as most for this novella. The wedding was cute, and Alexei is always good for some laughs. It’s well written, as always, and so easy to read you just fly through it. Everything after the wedding just didn’t work for me. The action was more distant, not much was actually accomplished, and they aren’t really any closer to catching “the bad guy”. Which is entirely plausible, not everything can have a resolution, but it felt more like action for action's sake, and with zero movement forward. Combined with the huge coincidence of it all going down on the resort, at the exact time they’re there for their honeymoon, and it just left me side eyeing the whole thing. Still enjoyable, a good read, and if you are a huge Sean and Alexei fan, then the wedding alone makes it worth it. This one just wasn’t for me. But I will be anxiously waiting for more, cause I know there HAS TO BE at least one more wedding *stares hard in Turner’s general direction*, and I’d cancel my own honeymoon (if I had one) just to get my paws on that one. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy.

Chaos, mayhem, and a honeymoon (an audio review)

What happens when two metahumans from Alpha Team want to get married? Well, chaos and mayhem, of course. The story begins with the bachelor party and all the members of Alpha Team are there. We move to the wedding and everything is progressing smashingly. But I knew it couldn’t last. Jamie is paying for the men’s honeymoon on a luxury gambling resort named Fortuna-sur-mer. And everything looks to be hunky dory until Liam shows up. Yep, that Liam. The metahuman from Britain whose grandmother is the Queen of England. He shows up with Oliver from MI6 and I realized this was the set-up for the next book where the two men will, so to speak, square off. Anyway, Liam arrives on the scene with news there’s a terrorist on the island. Well, of course there is. So, as I said, chaos and mayhem ensue. But in the mess, Alexei and Sean come even closer together. Their bond solidifies. They are a true team. And Alexei makes a bet Oliver and Liam will get together. I enjoyed this novella as it brought my two favorite characters even closer together. I mean, they had a mirror brought to their room. Sexy times indeed. I’ll mention Greg Boudreaux’s narration. He was made for this series and always hits just the right note. That and his accents are brilliant. So a good palate cleanser between the big books and definitely worth a listen.

4.5 Stars for a honeymoon of a different kind

Or to say it in Alexei's words, 'Try to have honeymoon, keep getting interrupted'. With 'Trouble' basically being Alexei and Sean's middle name, I was somewhat shocked but eternally grateful that the wedding itself and the ensuing wedding night proceeded without things that go boom - ahem, other than those that are liable to do so during a wedding night *cough* - and any dead bodies showing up... The honeymoon was a different story entirely, though. When an old nemesis picked their honeymoon location of all things to do some shady business and an old ally and fellow Metahuman gets them roped into his attempt at stopping this guy once and for all by dangling his name right under their noses, all bets are off. Getting reluctantly pulled out of their well-nigh retirement - and what's more, out of their bed, thank you very much! - everything ends up in utter chaos and probably the shortest honeymoon in the history of honeymoons with their lives once more on the line... Aww, my boys are married now!!!! We celebrated a dream wedding with everyone - friends, families and the whole former Alpha Team present and accounted for, umm, including me - and I felt like a proud momma leading the baby of the family to the altar. Perfect wedding vows were perfect and the ceremony couldn't have been any better if I had planned it myself. ;-) The rest was the familiar fun times with explosions, shootouts, extraordinary Metahuman abilities and hot pursuits wrapped up in humor, sweetness and time for hot and sweaty smexy times. Oh, and not to forget a certain thirteenth heir to the British throne who hopefully -well, that's me begging here!!! - finally found his equally sexy and hot-headed love interest in an MI6 spy also known as an utter pain in his backside. Liam's words, not mine. ;-) I'm sensing banter of epic proportions here, so I can't wait to read more!!! I think it's needless to say that I loved the whole package, except for it once again being a bit too short, but that's just greedy-me speaking. Another great addition and cherry on the (wedding) cake for fans of The Metahuman Files.

A super heated wedding , and honeymoon blowout!

What was a long time in the making , finally happened. With Fire In The Heart we get to experience the nuptials for one of our beloved couples Alexei's and Sean. In this Metahuman Files novella that was sweet, and had the heat turned up to 11, cooling off was not in the cards until I read the final words. Anyone who has read any of these stories should be over the moon that we get to go back to this world and see some of our favorite characters interact and come together to celebrate these awesome guys and, and ah em *wink* (when will we get Jamie and Kyle!!!) But I digress, because Hailey Turner weaved together a sweet and super hot story that delivered feels brought laughs out of me, while still given that rise of danger in a honeymoon that goes off the rails. Setting up something far bigger while Alexei, and Sean get caught up and smack in the proximity of the CIA agent Bennett who burned them so bad , they can almost taste the blood , as the agree to join the mission with another favorite character Liam, of the British Meta forces to finally get him. Having these characters back was a real treat, and here is to hooping even bigger things will come as I love every minute of being able to devour a Metahuman files book, no matter how long of short. Definitely not to be overlooked!

Amazing! Wonderful! Loved it!

Fire in the Heart is a Metahuman Files: Classified Novella by Hailey Turner. I have read and greatly enjoyed reading all of the books in the Metahuman Files including the novellas, and I was really happy that there was another novella in this series. I grew to love all of the characters in this series, especially Sean and Alexei. In Fire in the Heart, Sean and Alexei finally get married and they get to go on their honeymoon, and of course things do not go as planned for their honeymoon. If you have not read the previous books in this series, I highly recommend reading those books first before reading this novella. I had a lot of fun reading this novella. Alexei and Sean are definitely some of my favorite characters in this series, and I loved seeing how far they have come from the beginning of this series. I think Fire in the Heart, was perfect and very entertaining. It had a lot of humor, action, love and it was quick read. I know that I will be re-reading this novella again and again. I definitely recommend reading this book, and all of the other books in this series. I also hope that there will be more books in this series as well. I really want to know more about some of the other characters, and see what everybody is up to as well. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

It's time for a Honeymoon!

Always love returning to the metahuman world. I liked Alexei and Sean’s wedding quite a bit. But I’d been looking forward to their honeymoon which Jamie certainly splurged on, including giving them a million dollars spending money. Maybe a million dollars isn’t as much in their world considering futuristic inflation, but damn. Having Alexei and Sean being pulled into active duty again when a bad guy reared his ugly head at their honeymoon resort was a welcome change of pace. It did remind me a lot of the first mission they did together after their captivity. Especially since Liam from the UMG was present once again. Liam is not my favorite character, although the book was hinting that the other agent present may be a future love interest for him. I’m not sure how I feel about the fact that Jamie’s father won the presidential election, which in my opinion was thanks to the reveal of Jamie as a metahuman. There were times in past books when Richard seemed like a bad guy, and now he’s going to be the president. And with the former Alpha team still being in the MDF reserves, he could one day be giving them orders. Either way another nice installment of our favorite metahumans. Keep them coming!

A fantastic taster into Hailey's Metahuman world!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟 4.5 stars 🔥🔥🔥 Heat Level: 4 A fantastic taster into Hailey's Metahuman world!!! This was my first read of Hailey's Metahuman sci-fi series and I loved it! It can be read as a standalone/established couple read but obviously many other couples are mentioned and their team/found family is present and mentioned throughout this novella that would probably be better enjoyed or at least allow for a better understanding of the intricacies between all the characters and their team role better if I had read the previous books. That being said I loved this story and all the characters and now am desperate to go back and read the previous books. I loved Alexei and Sean and enjoyed their wedding and interrupted honeymoon. I enjoyed the interaction between Alexei & Sean and Jaime & Kyle and their team/family dynamics. I enjoyed the honeymoon's interruption and thrill Hailey loves to inject into her writing and now I really need to know what happens next. A highly recommended novella that is a great addition to the series or the perfect taster to enrapture you to Hailey's Metahumans Series. Thanks for reading!

Highly intriguing & well-written

This is a highly intriguing MM romance novella & although I have not read any of the previous Metahuman books written by this author, I will admit that I really enjoyed reading this one. I found the story-line quite intriguing & the plot was well-written & entertaining. The characters are well-developed & have a variety of traits and different sides to their personalities & are quite realistic with their expectations. There is: two retired metahumans agents (Sean & Alexei) get married & expected a somewhat normal honeymoon on an island only to discover that an old enemy/nemesis (Bennett) has appeared to disrupt everything, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, humor, verbal banter, friendship, old allies & fellow metahumans, MI6 agents, adventure, action, threats, villains, criminals, danger, conflict, violence, memories, torture, some PTSD, attempted assassinations, terrorism, suspicions, suspects, abilities, electrokinesis, pyrokinesis, explosions, shootouts, apologies, desire, love, passion, steamy scenes & a very happy but interesting conclusion. I look forward to future books from this talented author & would recommend this book. “I received a complimentary copy, and this is my honest & voluntary opinion”

MH honeymoon turns joint mission

This is a quick and easy short story in the Metahuman universe. The characters are almost all from previous books, so there's not really much need for character development. * SPOILERS AHEAD * The story starts off with Sean and Alexei getting married, and then being sent to a dream resort for their honeymoon by Jamie. Everything is going smoothly until a stranger approaches them with a message from Liam. Unfortunately, even though their identities are widely known, and they are no longer active agents, trouble has found them at the most inconvenient time. Ex-CIA Deputy Director Carter Bennett is on the island along with buyers for what chatter indicates to be the use and location of an off-the-grid Splice lab. Liam and Oliver, an MI6 agent, are running the operation and ask the couple if they are willing to help or leave. Alexei wants revenge for Bennett's betrayal and the injuries he caused, so Sean and he agree to help. The action takes off from there: crashing high stake card games, chasing yachts...with a lot of phasing, fire, and electrokinesis along the way. But at the end of the day, our heroes are left with several highly wanted criminals, and disappointment. Liam and Jamie agree to split the cost of a new honeymoon locale, and the two MCs are bound and determined to stay in their room for the test of their trip. Happy reading! * I received an ARC of this book and I am leaving my honest review. *

Wedding bells and exlosions...

4 / 5 Stars I love a good reading about a wedding in a series I've been reading for a long time, it's always a good addition. The boys being them, they cannot stay away from trouble, it's like a calling. It is really sweet and lovely to see the characters so happy and excited about the wedding and the time they are going to spend together. However, things turn upside town when they have to work to capture someone from their past. And like any other book in the series, action and explosions are not far behind. Overall, a short but entertaining read, I really hope to read more about the guys, this is one of my favorite series.

Awesome short read!

I had so much fun reading this story! All through the series, Alexei grew on me - his gruffness and unabashed attitude made me love him so much! All was calm before the storm. Even though the events leading up to their wedding and the wedding itself were smooth sailing, Sean and Alexei found themselves in the middle of the mission which wasn't even their own. Poor guys! If Alexei got interrupted one more time, I thought he might set someone on fire! LOL The wedding vows were so romantic! *le sigh* And the author recounted all the characters from the series and who they were with which was awesome for me. Of course, Alexei stole the show every time with his sometimes inappropriate but in a good way humor and how tender he was with Sean. And Sean in return was just as caring. I loved their teasing and all the affection they showered each other with. It didn't hurt that both men caught in on some action provided by HRH Liam aka Knight. It was every bit as fast-paced and thrilling as I know Ms Turner can make it. Plus Alexei's accent was drool worthy. I loved this novella to bits! I highly recommend it! Copy received for my honest and unbiased review

Loved it!

I loved the Metahuman series, and thoroughly enjoyed this novella. I loved that we got to see more of Alexei and Sean, including as they got married. These two had such a rocky past, complete with torture, so it was wonderful to see them back on solid ground and completely comfortable with each other. The mission they inadvertently got dragged into on their honeymoon was over quickly but still showcased they way these two operate. I hope there is more released in this series in the future, but regardless I'll continue to read anything this author releases. She has fast become a one-click buy for me.

Alexei and Sean are my favourites!

While I love all of Alpha Team, Alexei and Sean are definitely my favourites in the Metahuman series so I was beyond happy to see them get married at last. Of course, nothing is ever straight forward for Alpha Team! So while the wedding was sweet, adorable and gorgeous, the honeymoon was a little less so! Instead of the relaxing honeymoon they planned they find themselves caught up in an action packed op. I loved this novella - it packed in heaps of action, humour and beautiful sweet and sexy times with my two favourite Metahumans. Brilliant addition to the series! I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review

A great read.....I want more

Let me say firstly that I adore this series, I have read them from the start and eagerly awaited every release. This book was great, but to me it was a tease and in no way long enough. You see, I love these characters, and this wedding was long awaited and these guys deserve it after everything they have been through in previous books. Of course things are never quite and happy for very long, as their honeymoon is literally sent into chaos. Just not long enough for me...... I wanted more of them....... and the rest of the gang...... So here I am waiting for the next book in the series.

Quick read

Sean and Alexei finally walk down the aisle after much input from their moms. The honeymoon plans sounded fantastic, but you knew action would ensue so there that to also look forward to. The intro of Oliver was well planned and executed, he and Liam make for good pent up frustration banter. The action sequences were great, my one complaint is that there was very little achieved here. Sure a couple of lightly crispy bad guys were caught but I’d have preferred Bennet at least break a leg, or a few ribs...whatev. That they never even set eyes on him was frustrating. The mirror...yum. That is all. Voluntary ARC review.

Another explosion

I love the Metahuman books and this doesn't disappoint. The first marriage, from the original Alpha team, with Sean and Alexei being their normal wonderful selves. These two always run into trouble even when they just want to be left alone and enjoy their honeymoon. I had fun with this novella and I can't wait for everyone else to enjoy it as well. There is Alexei humor, explosions, sexy times, gunshots, and even a mention of pancakes. Everything a fan of The Metahuman Files series could ask for. I received an ARC of this book. This is my honest opinion and review.

It's a honeymoon, what could go wrong?

Sean and Alexei.....SQUEEEE! If you have stumbled on this book, get it, feel free to read it, but you might have a lot of questions. So then go read all the Metahuman books, you will love them, and understand this book more. We get to see our favorite ex-spy and Russian finally become husband and husband. Unfortunately our favorite royal crashes the get away accidentally, and the couple can't standby and do nothing. Alexei would rather not help and lock himself and Sean in the room, but he loves his husband, so they help. Dont worry, Sean makes it up to Alexei, with a mirror.

It isn’t a honeymoon without someone trying to kill you, is it?

Sexy and sweet, and funny.. and full of action because let’s be serious - it wouldn’t be a Metahuman Files story without someone blowing things up. Looooved being back with Alexei and Sean and the rest of the team! Things are never boring with these characters, even when they want them to be, and their honeymoon is no different - though I think Alexei would have liked to be stabbing people with forks a few times for interrupting them. I like the plot-related ties to the main series, and how it seems to keep a door open for future stories, either more novellas, or a book for Liam? Please?? I am really intrigued by his current situation, and if you couldn’t already tell, I really hope we get a book for him sometime soon!

Wow!! Just love Alexei and Sean together!

Wow!! Just love Alexei and Sean together! Action, romance, high stakes card games, suspense, fighting incredible odds and finding a way to survive and win some. Both of the MC's are just incredible together whether they are working or loving. You can feel their connection as they find their way through all the barriers that are thrown their way. The story-line was compelling and the writing flowed really well. I enjoyed seeing so many of the characters come together for the wedding and then the honeymoon was amazing for their brief moments before they had to jump into a mission. I was gifted this book from the LesCourt Author Services and i freely give my honest opinion and review.

Honeymoon interruptus

Finally, it seems Sean and Alexei will get their long overdue and hard earned wedding. We saw them rebuild themselves and their relationship in volume #1 of the Classified Files, but here as I guess we could expect the honeymoon does not go as planned. There is a great mix of action and romance in this entry in the series and Greg Boudreax as always makes the romantic scenes hot enough to scorch the page and the action scenes make you sit on the edge of your seat.

“Try to have honeymoon, keep getting interrupted.”

I love Alexei and Sean. “You like?” “I always like you.” They are the best with each other, and I would legit read anything about them, including random grocery shopping. They get married, and of course their honeymoon is interrupted (“Try to have honeymoon, keep getting interrupted.”) and bam action! The romance and action is super balanced, and I never lost sight of the fact that this was a wedding/honeymoon story. It’s wonderful. All this and then one of my favorite side characters pops into the scene with...a coworker of sorts and whew do they have some hate to love you vibes.

Alexei and Sean

This is a wonderful look at Alexei and Sean set after the Metahuman Files Series. I am thrilled some things never change. We still get action, explosions, Sean and Alexei in love and Alexei being Alexei. Sean and Alexei are my favorite couple in the series so this story went way too quick for me. Put this one in the win column as no one lost their teeth, plus we got pancakes and a mirror. This was an advanced review copy given to me for an honest review.

Another great addition!

Ahhh.. to be back in this universe, even though it’s brief and mostly just Alexei and Sean. But Alexei is my favourite character anyway, so 🤩 Short novella and one that would have been sweet and sexy because it’s their honeymoon. But it’s got action so hurray from me! 🤓

They got married!

I mostly enjoyed this novella. I was so happy reading about the wedding of Sean & Alexei. It was uniquely theirs. The honeymoon irked me a tad because once again a mission intervenes. Truly, I understand the urgency of the mission but I just wanted a fairytale honeymoon for our guys. Big Snort! Like that was going to happen. Read it, enjoy it & revel in the fact that our guys are actually, truly married.

Great story

This is a great story with a bit of romance, some sexy times, then action, adventure and danger. I loved Alexei and Sean together and the choice they made. They love and are devoted to each other, but also stay true to the greater cause. Every good story deserves some BOOM, both in and out of the bedroom. ^^ I received a complimentary ARC and have voluntarily left this honest review.

Sweet and loving

I haven't read this whole series, but after reading this one, I'm definitely going to. I love the world and the characters within it. Alexi and Sean were just so sweet at their wedding, and you could really feel the love and emotion that they shared. It really was just so refreshing to watch and read. The sexual chemistry between them was off the charts too.

Love it

I loved this book. The Metahuman theme is fabulous. The author handles this subject as if were actually real. This author writes very well and nothing drags in this book. I highly recommend this book. I read an ARC of this book with no obligation for a review.

Action, fun, sweetness...

This is the first book I read in the Metahuman Files series and it was enough for me to know I'm going to love reading this series because despite it beeing a relatively short story it has action, fun, sweetness... and I already love some of the characters.

Loved reading about Alexei and Sean again

They are my favorite pair from Metahuman so really happy to read about them again! The story was short but sweet and of course there were explosions LOL. Now, I just need to read about Liam's love interest maybe? 😁

Never want it to end

I seriously cannot get enough of these characters. Sean and Alexei have been through so much. It’s nice to see them get a bit of happy. As always love the action and banter!

Great story and series must read

Cute.. didn't get the bad guy.. 🙁 great author worth the read especially the whole series and all of her other books too. ✌💞🥂

Running on empty?

This book was my least favorite in the series. Nothing of consequence seemed to happen. As such I didn't feel like it added much.

Love these two

While I love all the characters in this series, these two are my favorite. I'm so glad we got a novella of their wedding and honeymoon, just can't get enough of their love! Wonderful read, always wish there was more but grateful for every word we get!

Quick, fun read giving us more of our beloved metahumans

It’s wedding weekend for Alexei and Sean! The first part of the book is the wedding weekend festivities...very sweet and amusing. The second part of the book is on the honeymoon where Alexei and Sean inadvertently become part of an op going after traitor CIA deputy director Carter Bennett. We get more of Liam (yay!), introduction to an English spy who works for MI6 (reminiscent of our first intro to Sean!), gunfire, explosions, fire, phasing. Oh, and a Kyle who is really ticked off to be missing the action. Downside? Not really sure I’m thrilled with Jamie’s jerk of a father having won the presidential election. Having a self-righteous, blowhard, billionaire in the White House hits a bit too close to home.

Great novella, loved it!

The metahuman series is one of the best series I've read. It's packed with action, original, full with twists and turns. It's also fun, has a great storyline and characters and I just love the world that Hailey Turner built in this series. This novella is a special about Alexei and Sean and it fits beautifully in the metahuman world. I absolutely loved it, cant wait for the next addition to the series.

Sexy, tender, lots of explosions and metahuman awesomeness.

It would appear that Sean and Alexei just can't catch a break. A wedding, a honeymoon, a whole lot of fire and explosions...what moment in their lives would be complete without those? There's so much love, passion, and respect that these men have for one another that most of us die-hard fans of theirs are wishing they could have a bit of uninterrupted peace, and yet, if we're really honest with ourselves, we're hoping even harder that they'll get to show off their own brand of badassery while they watch one another's six. And here we get it all. There's something addictive about not just this series, but the couples in them. For me Sean and Alexei are honestly my favorites. All that they've overcome is immense and that they're finally embarking on their kind of happily-ever-after is truly triumphant. But since there're a few strings from their trials that haven't been singed off yet, we get one of them here that pulls them from their honeymoon into something worthy of the action and crazy we've come to love from the series. What I wasn't exactly a fan of was that this ended up being an explosive non-ending to that particular string. Yes, this was absolutely exciting. Yes, I got more from characters I love. Yes, there were definitely some fantastic sexy times. But there wasn't really an ending. It was more disappointment and frustration that one of their adversaries...well, I'll avoid the full spoiler. I'm not exactly sure why this was the type of confrontation that was chosen to pull them from their honeymoon bed of insane hotness. Speaking of that hotness, what I loved most here in this story was how that hotness wasn't tempered, but increased by the emotional depth of it. Their tender, sultry looks were palpable and are absolutely the stuff of daydreams. This was everything. And if we put that with the fantastic writing on top of the action that is definitely edge-of-your-seat reading, it's still a big win. It's hard to stay mad at the non-resolution resolution because it just means that we're not done with their world. When that day comes it's going to be a sad, probably devastating day for me. Until then, I'm adding this to my re-read pile.

Remember to duck

I love these two so much! Sean and Alexei have been my favorite people in Hailey Turner’s Metahuman Files since I first encountered them. Sean and Alexei are enjoying their much deserved honeymoon when trouble finds them. It always seems to follow these two, more so than the others. I blame Alexei. 🙃 A slippery snake of an enemy tied to horrible memories for both Sean and Alexei ends up at their honeymoon destination and his appearance draws them into the mission. An old friend makes an appearance and I hope he gets his own book someday perhaps with a certain MI6 agent? I’ve always been enamored and fascinated by Sean and his powers. Alexei and Sean together are tender, so sexy, and fun. Their connection jumps out at you in every book. Alexei’s protectiveness (Sean’s too) and his possessive nature with Sean consistently gets me in the feels. Mirrors, need I say more? I’m so happy that we got to see Alexei and Sean get married and catch up with the Team again even though it was a brief visit. Their banter and obsession with betting keeps me in stitches every time. And Alexei’s bogarting of food never fails to make me laugh. They are truly one of my favorite book families. Always action-packed and always, always and exceptional read, Hailey Turner’s Metahuman Files books and novellas will leave you wanting more and staying up too late to read just one more page. Read it now and all of her books, you won’t be able to put them down!

A quickie 4.5-starred read!

Having only read Hailey Turner's Soulbound series, Fire in the Heart was my introduction to her Metahuman Files universe, and this novella was enough to entice me to read the novels and other novellas and short stories that came before it. Fingers crossed there'll be time to get through it all before Turner releases a new book in that book universe. This Metahuman Files: Classified novella features Alexei Dvorkin and Sean Delaney as they prepare to exchange vows only to end up exchanging bullets and more once they're on their honeymoon. Instead of the oft-read threat to a relationship, the threat that Alexei and Sean find themselves facing is the kind that could leave countless bodies dead. I seriously liked how fast-paced this novella was and how intense the relationship between the main characters seemed to be. The threat they confront here isn't actually neutralized, so I'm guessing that'll be fodder for the next full-length novel. Fire in the Heart was a great quickie of a read and has me eager for more from this series. 4.5 stars! ♥

Team Lyosha and Senichka

I adored this novella about my favorite couple. Alexei and Sean are finally married and ready to flight for a romantic honeymoon in the south of France (thanks to Jaimie). But while they were enjoying their time, an enemy from their last mission with the MDF show up (read it if you want to know who). Their honeymoon will take a new turn between sexy time, poker party, gun shoot and actions. Hailey Turner give us a sexy and funny novella with good action scenes. She stayed loyal to her MCs, their tempers and most important their story. I had a good time to be with them again, Alexei is still sassy as usual and made me laugh out loud numerous times. Sean is still the perfect match for his troublesome husband, calm and thoughtful. I loved this book and it helped me to take off my sadness about the end of the series, each novella about this series give me more time with them, like they’re members of my family (and they are). I gladly recommend this short novella, it worth your time and your smile

Alexei and Sean get an interrupted honeymoon...

Year: 2231 Earth. A wonderful addition to the Sci-Fi Metahuman Files series. We get to see the Team members, who each have a different super power, as they are all attending the wedding of Alexei and Sean. Russian, Alexei, code name Inferno, and Sean, former CIA, code name Wraith, are happy and excited to seal the deal. There is a surprise waiting when they get to their Mediterranean honeymoon island, but not a good one. We do get to see the high tech gadgets, action, suspense, thrills, and of course super hot sexiness. These two men really scorch the sheets, glass wall, shower, etc.... Our fierce fighting team members help with the op to catch the bad guy, with explosions, a destroyed yacht, and a hole in the bio-dome ! Fortunately the honeymoon re-starts and more sexy times return. Their passion is intense and meaningful. Each story can stand alone, but I have read the whole series, which has been fantastic. Highly recommended. ENJOY ! ======

A Wedding At Last

This is the third book in the Metahuman Files: Classified Series which is an extension of the Metahuman Files Series. A fantastic book with amazing writing. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters spellbinding. The characters were well developed and thought out. Alexei and Sean are the MC’s of this book. There was humor (Alexei the things you say), a wedding, a honeymoon (sort of), friends and family, enemies, action, sex, an unwanted mission, gambling and much more in this book. Here is a quote from the book that I think will become the most said quote of the book, “Try to have honeymoon, keep getting interrupted.”. This book is short (cries in corner) but you need to read this book which I can highly recommend. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
