Dork Diaries 7: Tales from a Not-So-Glam TV Star (7)

My daughter just turned 11.she was skeptical about reading these books as she thought it was some kind of ripoff to Diary of A Wimpy Kid. I bought her first book at the schools book fair. She was hooked. I've never seen her want to read a book as much as this series. She now has all 12 books and is currently on her 6th one. Also, I was gladly surprised that the AR point value at school for most of these are 4 and 5 points. Which adds up quickly. The Wimpy Kid books are not usually that high in point value.

My daughter has read all of these multiple times and she loved this one too. I only wish they took her a little longer to read, because we struggle to keep her in books that have acceptable content (not sexual or too advanced in content) but still challenging for her. She reads several grades ahead and loves these and i know theres not unacceptable content in them. :) She also loves the Warrior books, so if youre trying to find another book for your daughter who liked these books the warrior series is a good one to look at, especially in Manga form. :)

Fun cute clever and engaging. My boys have read this as a follow-up to the wimpy kid books because when they first saw them I saw pictures drawn on lined paper they thought they were just another version of it. They are but there have a little more intelligence to them and a little more of a teenage experience which makes sense for my boys even though it’s about girls.

I don't think of it as good, great, or amazing.IT'S FANTASTIC!!!! I read all of the other books in order and it totally makes sense on how she feels. It's more of a pick up of the the third book and the one before this one. If you skipped all the other books, and you liked this one, you MUST read the ones before this one. I'm getting the new one, without doubt!

This one was not my favorite because it seems a little far fetched. But then again its a fun childrens books series and who doesn't think about being a hot celeb when they're a kid? Or an adult?

I'm a sixth grader and I have been reading this series since I was about ten and it's not perfect but it is still a great, fun read. People have complained about it being inappropriate for kids younger than 9. It's written for kids 9 and up and I do not recommend it for kids under that age. People also said it's unrealistic. It's a kids book. Its fantasy aspect makes a good read. Sure, no kid would get their own reality TV show, but that's not what it's supposed to be. I strongly recommend this book and the rest of the series.

I liked the book just that it had a long story that hapened to her at the very begining of the book and it got kinda boring.Anyways after I read it the second time it was'nt that boring anymore. sorry for the mispelled words :)

This book was so amazing! In the beginning Nikki sort of is an evil snob like Mackenzie, sort of. It's still a great book though! And, someone else said in their review it involved celebrities in their under wear. Well, It doesn't! I think that the book has out done itself! It's an ABSOAWESOME book! I bought a few of these books for my 10 year old sister for Christmas and she seems to really love them. She reads above her 4th grade reading level. I believe these are meant for 9-13 years, which is definitely appropriate. I'll probably be buying her more in the future.

I absolutely loved it. It definitely deserves five stars. It was just a really well written book. How can Nikki could take so much of Mackenzie in one book? I did not start the series from the beginning but I definitely liked it. I will read more of the series and I definitely will recommend it to some of my fellow dork friends.

My daughter really enjoyed this book.

I am almost 30 years old, and I am not ashamed to admit that I have read all of the Dork Diaries books so far! I pre-ordered this book for my 10 year old (and myself!), and we received it today. I love pre-ordering on Amazon! I won't go into too much detail regarding the plot, but it follows Nikki through even more adventures and mishaps. The writing style is the same that readers have grown to love so much. Not too many series after 7 books can manage to keep my interest, but these fun Dork Diaries books have no problem doing so. I can't wait to share this with my daughter! She is going to be so excited. I will update with her thoughts once she reads it.

Nikki is the best I have all of her diary books and read all of them she is so AUSOME and I loved the part when Brandon donated $5.00 for a kiss for Nikki also I think he did the kiss like a your my girlfriend kiss because the rule was $5.00 for a kiss on the cheek not the lips and Brandon kissed Nikki on the lips jot the cheek. See girlfriend kiss not just a friend kiss or a just for charity kiss a girl friend kiss.

This was a gift for an 11 year old girl, who is in the advanced education classes at her school. I don't know if that would make a difference in how another 11 year old would react to the book. The 11 year old this book was given to has read all the Dork Diaries up to this point, and asked for the book for Christmas.

I am 11 and I can reflect of some of the things that Nicki does or has problems with in the book. I have literally read all of the books twice and loved each and every one of them.

Okay, I loved the book. But did anyone else think that it was a bit over the top that she was just chosen to have a mini tv show about her? I still loved it though. Again, I always get so frustrated for poor Nikki who can't seem to get a break! But this book was definitely my favorite for.. Erm... Certain reasons :D

I received another book with another title , and not this one.

I watched my daughter read this every night and walk through the kitchen not putting this down, She was lost in this book great job.

Nah.. I didn't enjoy this as much. The first few books of the Dork Diaries series were funny and cute, total timepass, but now they are becoming just plain silly and annoying. I left it halfway through. I don't think it will be very appealing to girls over 8 or 9.

This book is kinda good but a little bit immature. It is better than Diary of a Wimpy Kid because good things actually happen to the main character.( Nikki/Greg) In Diary of a Wimpy Kid nothing interesting happens to Greg so the book ends up boring.

I loved this sooooooooooo much. It has all the elements for a perfect kids book. A little drama some romance and FABULOUSNESS! I think every kid should get to read this book!

It is very funny and it tells about how a middle school girl hits her head and dreams she's in a fairytale land. I like how the humor tells the story and that it is from the writers point of view😁, I recommend it for girls ages 8-11

My daughter thought it was as good as the others in the series. The kindle doesn't display the mix of text and pictures as well as the printed versions, but you still get all the pictures.

Another great book from the hit series Dork Diaries. This book tells us readers what happened in the end of the 6th book. You might be surprised to find out what happened. I have to say the ending is my favorite part. Great read for preteens. I recommend this book for kids from 10-14.

This was purchased for my daughter to help complete her set of this series. She really enjoys these books.

Love this series but her take on life is really gloomy and when she says her life is so cruddy I think she should experience a harder situation then be humiliated by her dad's truck. Over all, I'd give it 6 out of 10
