Don't Tempt Fate

Book 11 of the Cloverleah Pack series.

Pack enforcer, Marius Reef has a lot on his mind. Life in Cloverleah has been quiet for months; giving him too much time to think. He still suffers nightmares from his father's abuse decades ago and now his brothers are mated, he is struggling to find and keep his place in the pack. Determined to be useful, his waking hours are spent patrolling the pack's territory but at night his dreams are haunted by a hunky blond, so perfect he couldn't exist in real life.

As the Battle Lord for his people, Cathair is used to being sent from the elven realm to dispel injustices found on many realms including earth. Guided by the Seers, he's never questioned his assignments before. But when his father, the High Elder insists he must take a message to a tiny pack in the middle of nowhere, and actually stay with them, he puts up a token protest. His place was on the elven realm, wasn't it?

Prophecies and kidnappings, the evil that stalks Cloverleah is getting closer and all will be affected. Plagued with troubles and misunderstandings on both realms, Marius and Cathair must forge a bond or the whole pack could be lost. But when trouble comes from one of their own, the two men reach a crossroads. Will they choose the right path or will the fate of the Cloverleah pack be doomed?

This is an M/M story that includes some violence, references to past abuse and a scene of attempted rape (not between MCs). Like all of my books, it has an HEA, no cheating and no cliffhanger. However, the epilogue sets the scene for the next book in the series.

This book is part of a series and while this story is based on one couple and is complete in itself; to appreciate the over-arching story line and the stories behind the secondary characters, reading the previous books in order is advised.

Just Wonderful

Rating: 4.5 Stars A friend lent me her copy of this book and I loved it enough that I went ahead and bought my own copy. It was wonderful. I really loved both main characters. It was so nice to see Marius get his HEA. I liked the fact that Marius’s issues were not glossed over and that the mating wasn’t all sunshine and roses in the beginning. The author did a really good job getting us as the readers up to date with the events in the past books. She did it in such a way that it didn’t take you out of the story and didn’t drone on with exposition. I was really interested in the elven realm and really hope that she continues with it more in the future. I would really love for Valouf to get his own story. All in all, this was a great addition to the Cloverleah series and I highly recommend it to anyone who has been keeping up with the series.

As for this...

Book in the series, i’ve enjoyed it the most, so this rating is in comparison to those. I haven’t left a review on previous titles, but both the storyline and characters were more clear, strong and less silly than previous books. I have not been impressed with Poseidons character attributes in the past, and wished he wasn’t included here. It seemed the weakest part of the story (though only a minor blip). I would have liked to read more about how the MC’s dealt with the threat instead of leaving it to future books as it was an elfin enemy.

Good addition

4 stars While this one may not be my fav of the series, it was the best so far with character development. I really enjoyed Marius’ character arc. I liked that his physiological issues from his childhood abuse were not magically fixed by the mating. There was still work to do and it took time for both Marius and Cathair to find their feet. The only part that annoys me in this series, is that with every mating someone has to have a problem, usually it’s Kane and it was really getting old, but with this one he has finally got the stick out of his butt and was happy for the mated pair. Unfortunately Adair took up the mantle of jerk in this one. I can understand that he was worried about his brother, but I don’t remember him having any problems with Telio’s mates. Looking forward to Thomas’ book

Work of Art

When this appeared on Amazon I couldn't order it fast enough. I felt so good to go back to Cloverleah. It's one of the best shifter series ever, simply because Lisa Oliver can combine all elements of this world and may it work. It's not just wolfs, it's cats, bears, vamps, Gods, fae, and now elves. How cool is that. I so enjoyed every paring, but I worship Elves and Fae and I've always loved vamps. This book highlights the past relationships, pulls in the present (Markus/Cathir, adds mystery that makes sense and you don't want to put this book down. It's could be a stand alone, but if you haven't you must read the entire collection. I hope this has many more books to come, because I am sure all her fans are just not really to let this universe go. Fantastic work of art

Thoroughly enjoyed

I guess I went about this series ass backwards, as I read book 13 first! But it didn't seem to matter much that I did not know all the other characters, it was easy to pick up on . The diversity of characters is partially the appeal, I love all paranormal and most m/m, so this was just perfect and I'm so excited to go back now and start on book 1 and know ill have 12 awesome books to read!! I loved Cathair and Markus and their abilities to show real emotions, such as crying. I also love Lisa's ability to pair such different beings and making them work together! Loved this ! If you've read Lisa's other books in this series, you'll love this one and as a matter of a fact even if you haven't it will be an awesome read!!

Fantastic Story!!!

Wow! Don’t Tempt Fate is Lisa Oliver’s latest addition to her Cloverleah Pack series and what a great one it is! The story is jammed packed with action, treachery, sexy times and heart wrenching moments. Loved the MCs and the story so much I was sad to reach the end because I wanted more. And of course, DTF also includes appearances from the rest of the pack members including sweet little Ollie. One of the things I love most about Lisa’s stories is how she immerses the reader into the lives and emotions of her characters. This is an author I highly recommend as I have all of her books and eagerly await each new one that comes out

Best so far...

This book, in my opinion, is the best one of the series. They keep getting better and better. I loved the length of the novel and the amazing, unique details!! Some of the books in this series have been too short but this one was almost perfect in regards to that. All of the side characters helped tremendously in endearing the pack more to us readers, as well. I'm not crazy about the last chapter and wish it would've ended a little bit more focused on the MCs but overall, you won't be disappointed in giving it a try. You must read all of the previous pack books to really be able to thoroughly enjoy this one. Please hurry with the next book. I hope it's even longer than this one.

A fine addition to the series

This is the 11th book in the Cloverleah Pack series. Unlike a few others in the series this can be read without reading the others. This is the story of Marius and Cathair. Marius was abused as a child and endured his father's "love" for eight long tormented years. He endured but carries the scars inside and out. Cathair the most powerful elf is sent to Cloverleah and the threat is finally revealed. The book has a series of twists and turns that serve the story well. The addition of elves to the paranormal stew of Cloverleah is interesting as is the author's take on elves.

The last Reef brother gets his mate

Marius, the third of the wolf enforcer brothers and the only one without a fated mate is about to meet the man he's destined to be with. And unlike the men he's been perusing Cathair is warrior with the body of Thor and eleven blood in his veins. I'm happy that Marius finally faced his past and the limitations he's been putting on himself and with Cathair the pack got another strong member as well as a new threat revealed.

Another winner

Lisa has done it again. While this book is part of a series, it can be read alone. I will warn you, it will make you want to go back to the beginning and read all of the books! The MC's show growth through out the chapters. It is a well paced book. The past that both have to get through is very relatable. It shows the strength they have but how much stronger they are together. Can't wait for the next book. Thank you Lisa for being a wonderful story teller!

All you need is love!!

I love this author. She is a must read for me. I am always waiting impatiently I might add for the next installment. This is installment brings another addition to the group an Elf this time and Marius' mate, Cathair. This book does deal with abuse and making strides to overcome it. It also deals with how love can heal and conquer. It is a powerful theme of her books. I am looking forward to the next installment. Note this is a series and not a stand alone but once you start reading about Cloverleah you won't care.

#Best One Yet 💞👏

I have read all of your books, well that's not true I'm about to read One Wrong Step then I would have read all of your books. I must say Don't Tempt Date is the best of all for me and I love love all your stories but Marius and Cathair has become your power couple of power couple's . I did not want their story to end. I did not like the ending no offense to Thomas but I would have love to see MarCat work through the most heart wrenching part of their relationship. It was a sapranos fade to black ending. People of earth read this book ,well not those who do not read MM romance could you imagine the scandal😏

Amazing!

Love love love this book. I love and enjoy this whole series but this book was a little different to me because it did not take place primarily in Cloverleah like the others. You saw some of the pack but this was not a “pack” book. While the MC Marius is a member of the pack and a wolf shifter the other MC, Cathair, is an elf and it is in his realm the book takes place for the most part. I won’t give anything away but this book was wonderful, well written from both a character and world perspective, entertaining and engaging.

Finally

We finally find out why the Cloverleah pack faces one challenge after another despite the practical reason that it just makes for good reading. And it's a doozy. The youngest Reef brother gets an elf lord for a mate who looks like a taller, blonder, buffer Thor. Marius has some issues and Cathair has to put in some work for the first time in his 1000+yrs of life. Betrayals from the elvan realm amd within the pack itself challenge their bond but they come out stronger in the end. Yea!

Fascinating development in the Cloverleah plot

I found this book to be one of the most interesting in this series. The fact that the dark elves have the ability to not only seek out, but to amplify and corrupt the evil in their victims is appalling, and yet, their victims become so twisted that they don't even realize that they've become everything that they loathe. Marius had been through so much in his life and he truly deserves his HEA. I'm also glad that the Reef brothers will all have the opportunity to be immortal together and not have to watch one of their trio age and die.

Amazing!

As always, Lisa Oliver pulls you into her world and leaves you anxious to return with the next book. Marius and Cathair were great together. A little angst, lots if sweet and sexy. Marius' book was everything expected and so much more. And the overall story arc gets more intense as we draw closer to big fight. The elves and their realm add so much to this exciting world. Cant wait for Thomas' story. Once again Lisa Oliver slayed it. Love, love, love!

Another amazing read

What can I say Lisa has done it again Marius and Cathair are a love story coming from self hatred to true love Marius was badly abused physically and mentally by the person who is supposed to have loved him the most his father so he has self doubt but the love from Cathair makes him realize he can be loved. Lots of twist and turns and of course and ending making you want more can't wait for Thomas story

Another amazing story!

This is another great addition to the Cloverleah pack series. As always with plenty of action, this time with elves and a battle Lord added to the mix. If you liked the previous stories in this series, you will probably like this one as well. I absolutely loved it.

Freaking Amazing!

Words Cannot even describe how I feel about this series, author, and book! I fell,in love from the very beginning and have fallen even harder now. This book made me feel loved, made me laugh, made me cry, but all together made my heart swell. I can't wait to read the next one and I hope one day these men will all be safe and sound and happier than life itself!

Marius and Cathair's love story!

Marius was the most troubled of Reef brothers, and I loved how the author brought his insecurities out in the open. Cathair was an amazing mate and a perfect counterpart to Marius. Wow, that scene in the end was nail bitingly good! So much tension! The baddie is a known! Yay, they were spooky... I loved it!

More shockers!

Poor Marius my heart aches for him. But if that man had did one more run, I could have reached though my book and choked him. I liked when Marius and Cathair stop and just talked about what was going on with them. We learn a lot from this book. I'm looking forward to the dark elves showing themselves. That is going to be one epic fight.

you will love this latest addition

If you have been following the Cloverleah Series, you will love this latest addition. It is Marius' turn to find his mate, but it isn't a smooth journey on the way to their HEA. This book can be read without reading the rest of the series first, but if you haven't visited Cloverleah yet, start at the beginning and fall in love with The Cloverleah Pack!

Really loved the introduction of the elves

Really enjoyed this book a lot enjoy the subtext of the story surrounding abuse and how it can be overcome really enjoyed it and set it up nicely for the next one

LOVED IT

Loved It!! At first I thought it was going to be just another one of those books, But thenyou introduced the Elves as a form of Angel! that just blew my mind. Then I got swept up in the plots of tansin and all but forgot about wesley until he stuck. I had to put the book away for sometime, because I didn't want to see marius's reaction to what he was about to walk in on. you totlally got me. I LOVED IT. GREAT JOB a

Amazing!

This whole series has become one of my favorites to read. I'd been looking forward to the release of Don't Tempt Fate and let me say I was not disappointed. This book grabbed from page one. The characters are broughg to life beautifully and the story line had my yearning for more. The next book can't come out soon enough. xx

Another wonderful addition

This was another wonderful addition to this series...Marius was so annoying!! I swear I wanted to smack him stupid... Of course he got better by the end and I'm glad... I like we're finally getting some answers about the threat as well ... Off to the next book

Love Lisa

When a series start getting long you wonder how the characters are going to continue to go on without loosing their integrity. Not something you have to wonder with Lisa. One of my favorite packs continues to grow and become more awesome with each new installment. The new characters enrich the story even more.

You did it again!

The way you write and tell stories is absolutely wonderful. I am a long time reader of yours and I LOVE the Cloverleah pack. They are always getting into something. And this time it was a little darker* than most. So you keep writing Lisa, so I can keep buying☺

OMG AWESOME book

I was blow away by the characters and the storyline. Wow it was very interesting about the bark elves and how they can cause trouble. That elves are one step down from angels. I was in awe of the love and how hatred and jealous can move a heart and the feelings and thoughts they bring. Shifters in this book are really cool. Please pick up this book and series.

Another Cloverleah winner

As with all the books in the Cloverleah series, this is, at its core, a love story. Yes, it has all the supernatural elements you would hope for, but those come in slightly secondary to the love story. This one wasn't as action packed as some of the prior ones, but that's okay...they don't all have to be nonstop action. Give Cloverleah a read. You won't regret it.

Love following the Cloverleah Pack

This is another great addition to the Cloverleah Pack. I am so happy Marius got his mate and a HEA. The storyline is progressing and we are getting closer to finding out about the evil that has been plaguing the pack.

Great Story

The plot was great and I loved the characters. I have read all the stories in the series and enjoyed them all. I would recommend to a friend.

Great

What can I say another great book in the series. I love this whole series and highly recommend that you read all of Lisa's books. All great reads.

Another perfect book!

Lisa Oliver is an amazing author! Every book she writes is gold! This is just one more to add to the list. I love that we know there are dark beings behind the scenes that are slowly being revealed. I am now awaiting the next book. I have loved every single book she puts out. I would say more about this. Book but I don't want to ruin the story for anyone!

Lackluster

I love this author's books but the whole drama with Marius and Cathair over "topping" and "bottoming" I just skimmed over this book. I understand the abuse Marius went through and Cathair getting assaulted was horrible but this book ended feeling like the top/ bottom issue wasn't resolved.

A good plot

A well written story. Great sex. Vibrant characters. Will buy everything she writes. Will continuously reread all the books frequently.

One of Lisa's books best books so far

One of Lisa's books best books so far. I love the this series and look forward to the next book in it. The characters are always believable and the story always has its ups and downs which make the story an enjoyable read.

Five stars

When I first started this series I knew it was going to be good. What I didn’t realize was how freaking awesome it has turned out to be! Every book has been a joy to read. I love the Cloverleah Pack. I can’t wait for the next book! I definitely recommend this book and the entire series!

Fantastic series

Another wonderful storey involving the characters in this pack. There is always high drama, excitement and most of all love. These mates all have a unique storey to tell but the way the weave together is brilliant.

Great as always

This is a fantastic next installment in an already AMAZING series. The addition of the Elves, both the main character and the Dark Elves was very well thought out. It promotes the overall storyline of the series perfectly. I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series!

Amazing plot and 'get up close and personal' with these characters! Highly recommend!

Well written as all of this authors books are. Complex plot with lots of substance and the flow was awesome! Character development was terrific on both sides. i really felt that i got to know and love these characters!

Love this book series

Love this book series! I have read everyone in this series and they just keep getting better and better.

Lisa write another great story. The Cloverleah Pack series is one of ...

Lisa write another great story. The Cloverleah Pack series is one of my favorite PNR series. Marius and Cathair's story kept me turning the page to see what was going to happen next.

Another great book in the Cloverleah Pack series

Such a fantastic series with fun, loveable characters. Each book builds on the one before it, each mating brings new energies to the story. Love this series and anything else that Lisa writes.

Even heroes have problems.

Another in a great series. I love how her heroes are still people with relationship issues. Hate to see evil making people decide between protecting and living. I wish this pack luck. This is a fight for paranormal survival.

enjoyable

loved all about the book

Fabulous!

The men of Cloverleah and their bonds will always hold a special place for me, but I feel that their story as a whole is really one of the best. I am so excited that the funky things that seemed "coincidental" are making sense. That's just damn good plot writing.

Another hit

I have loved Lisa Oliver and Cloverleaf since the very first book. Always one click for me. This one is Marius's story, the youngest of the Reef brothers. Well worth the read.

Love

This series just keeps getting better and better. Lisa Oliver is a genius in the PNR world, her stories just can’t compare. Fans of the series will love this newest addition! 😁

Love this book

Love this book. It was a tear jerker in some parts and those are the ones that really get to me as the MC's really bloom and come to life. If you are a fan of the Cloverleaf series I guarantee you will like this book.

A great next step in a great series!

This was a terrific book! This whole series is terrific! The love and support between the characters and the dangers they face, take you to other amazing worlds!

Good Read

This is a story of a loving pack. They are all different in all aspects. This is a good series to read. I’m looking forward to Thomas’s book!

Another hit

I enjoyed this book from start to end, the little twists and turns were well written. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series

Enjoyable as always

Although I wish the author had Marius discuss his problems and feelings with his brothers, or a professional, I did enjoy the book. I always enjoy Oliver's books.

Loved the story

This story is great to read. It has mystery that makes you want to find out the ending. You also have a love story with outstanding characters. I loved it, can't wait for the next book of this series.

Love It!!!!

This is a wonderful continuation of the Cloverleah series. Marius & Cat's story is a beautiful example of Lisa Oliver's ability to create a wonderful world love, loyalty and lore.

Worth the wait

Loved the book, cloverleah is always my favorite storyline and I am always on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book to come along. Can't wait till we see more. Love lisa oliver in all her storylines.

A great story

Another great story in the series by the author. If you enjoyed the others you will love this one too.

Excellent Storyline

Loved how Carthair and Marius met and Marius took off due to his fear of bottoming. The pack is going through one of the worst times so far, but I'm positive they'll come out on top in the end.

I really enjoyed this book

I never thought I would enjoy reading gay romance, but once you get past the idea you get attached to the men in her books. I have enjoyed all her books.

So good

This a beautiful addition to her other books in this series and the spinoffs. Best to read them in order.

Excellent story

Lisa my dear, you've done it again!! Love Cathair and Marius Elves, who would have thought. Can't wait for the next one.

Can't wait for the next one!

Another fabulous story in the Cloverleah Series! A real feel good ending with plenty of feels and just the right amount of angst throughout. Can't wait for the next one!

Great

Good stuff I truly enjoy this series. The numbering system was difficult to follow though using. Good Reads helped. I highly recommend this author

So good!

Lisa just gets better and better. I couldn't put this one down and read it in just a few hours with only unavoidable interruptions. Hope I don't have to wait too long for Thomas's story

Great!

Simply another GREAT book in this series! I have enjoyed every book in this series and the spin-off so far!

Fantastic book that got better and better

Fantastic book that got better and better. I was sorry to get to the end. Looking forward to the next one

Nice book

Worth the money I paid and my time thanks again for the lovely book and I’m going to read the next book

Love it!!!!!!!!

Love it and recommend. If you are familiar with this series, it's even better to enjoy it in the chronological order. Otherwise still a great book by itself.

This latest book certainly doesn't disappoint!

I was wondering whether the next mate to be introduced would be an angel but we have a 6'10" elf instead! Cathair is one step down from a heavenly being and he's just what Marius needs. Marius has a lot of hidden insecurities but when push comes to shove he is right there alongside his mate and much stronger than he realises. This book is more serious and darker than some of the other novels in this series but as always, in this instalment there is drama, intrigue and a double betrayal and the 'tall, dark and dreary' is now a known quantity and it looks as though we could have thrice the trouble coming Cloverleah's way. Lisa weaves an excellent story and leaves us salivating for more. I can't wait to read the next couple of books and the idea of the series drawing to a close is sad and although all good things must come to an end, we will have a fantastic series to reread as often as we wish.

Enticing book 11 in Cloverleah

As always a great book by Lisa Oliver. Great to see the characters of Cloverleah again. The book is enticing and entertaining. Enjoyable to read. Very hard to put down. Second Review. Book 11. Cathair a Elven Battle Lord next in line to the elven leadership, his father is the Elven High Elder. Marius Reef the youngest Reef brother. These 2 characters have a rocky start, stemming from the abuse Marius suffered at his fathers hands especially about gay men. My thoughts have stayed the same as previous review above.

❤️❤️❤️

Miss Oliver has done again. I got so engrossed in the book I stayed up till 3 o’clock in the morning to finish it. Well written, smooth flowing storyline. Was great to see the other characters from Cloverleah. Things are starting to come together in the story arc. Can’t wait to find out what’s going to happen to the pack.

I recommend this series

These books should really be read in order. So thrilled that the youngest brother got his happy ending.

WOW

Wow just wow. So much detail in the paranormal world! So much danger and darkness. But so much love too.

Fantastic story - shame about the proofing errors

Not quite sure how to rate this book. I love the Cloverleah series and have not read any of them for some time, so I decided to read all the books again before reading this one. I thoroughly enjoyed them all again but after my mammoth read, I was reminded of how many proofing errors there were in the books. When I started this one I was hoping that maybe there would be less errors - unfortunately I was wrong - there seemed to be just as many and I felt like I spent a lot of time correcting the grammar errors, missing letters etc in my head in order to make sense of what I was reading. From a story/world point of view, I rate this as 5 stars but from a proofing point of view, I rate this as 3 stars. Having said that, I am glad I read it and would re-read it again as the story and characters are so good. I have already bought the next in the series, even knowing that there will probably still be a load of proofing errors in it. I am not sure why this happens as there are loads of us readers who would happily read an advance copy and report back on these errors.

This latest book certainly doesn't disappoint@

Another fantastic book

The latest instalment of the Cloverleah Pack series does not disappoint. I love the romance and the true fated mates aspect and as with all the mates in the series the course of true love never runs smoothly. Old insecurities, interfering relatives, homicidal friends this book has it all. Plus we start to catch a glimpse of who may be behind all the problems that have occurred over the series and the threat they pose not only to the Cloverleah Pack but all paranormals and maybe the world. I really loved this book, the character development is great and I feel every time I read one of these books it’s like coming back to an old set of friends. Lisa has created a wonderful world and a compelling set of characters and I am looking forward to the next one in the series.

This book was so juicy

Oh, I feel like my heart is going to explode! This book was so juicy. I always love these types of books, the ones that have more than just a cut and dry story line. The things that happened in the middle kept it so interesting, leading the way to the shocking twist at the end. Heart breaking but brilliant. Another great addition to the Cloverleah Pack. I never want this series to end, I'm so glad that there's a spin off series.

Wow!

The story continues, the threat to the pack becomes clearer, and all sorts of threads started to tie up. The overarching story notches up a gear in this latest installment. Add in another wonderful true mates story, fabulous secondary characters, intrigue, betrayal and a whole new realm to discover, what more could you ask for? Another winner! Can't wait for the next one ...

Don't tempt fate is fantastic

Another incredible book from Lisa oliver This book built more on the story as a whole and also gave Marius and cathair there own story to follow Amazing twists and turns this series is growing so much better with every new book This could be read as a standalone but beat to read all the books in the series to get the full back story Amazing character development with new and old characters defiantly a five star story

Love the continuation

I have read all of The Cloverleah Pack books and look forward to reading the next instalment with great anticipation. This was Marius Reef, the third Reef enforcer brother, story and introduces Elves and dark elves to us. As usual it was well written, story flowed, great sex scenes, so all round excellent read. Only problem is I now want the next book!! If you enjoy M/M shifter books then you will love this series. Highly recommend xx

Cloverleah Pack 11

Marius was the last of the three Reef brothers to get mated and he has a bucket full of self esteem issues to work out as well as battling the next evil trying to harm the men of the Cloverleah Pack

Amazing!

This series just keeps getting better, I love the individualty of each story. Authors can fall in the trap of same story just different characters, Lisa manages to avoid that, hence my having so many of her books!
