“This is such an adorable journal. I love that my child can write short summaries of what they learned in history and science, do some copywork, and the pictures for the creative writing stories are adorable. My kiddos will check out around 6 animal books to use with this and add history and math. It's recommended to add science too but I think learning about animals for a semester is great for science. It's recommended to use 5-8 pages a day.” Coffee Mama
This is Ana’s favorite journal:
“This is my personal favorite Journal! My children have been using the horse and space journals so this 1 follows the same concept, go to the library and get your books on what you are learning and use the journal to document as you learn and keep you on track... We actually use library books and textbooks. The BIG difference in this 1 compared is it seems Sara has perfected the Journal process and also made it complete animal theme, YAY!!! HUGE WIN FOR MY FAMILY who loves everything animals ... There are pages of animal tracks, origami, mazes, math, creative writing, history and science pages, cursive practice, and so on. ... I highly recommend!!!”(October 1, 2016)ISBN-10: 1539610519ISBN-13: 978-1539610519This Journal will help you document your child's eclectic learning journey.

Fantastic journal!
I just started fun-schooling my 9 year old daughter this school year, and she’s absolutely loving it!! I bought a ton of the various fun-schooling journals & workbooks because I became obsessed with them and the concept behind them, which I think is simple, yet brilliant! My daughter is a very hands on, creative learner and does not do well with traditional school books or in a regular classroom setting. These journals have made her love learning and actually look forward to school, which I never thought possible (and neither did she :). This All About Animals journal is so awesome that I bought another one when it went on sale for her to use next year, or later on this year. That’s the beauty of these journals is that you can do the same one with totally different library books and have a whole new learning experience! I love how the age range is so broad as well since the difficulty level is based on the books you choose to study with the journals. The author, Sarah Brown is very active on Facebook too, in the fun-schooling group, which is awesome. Being able to get great advice from the author of the journals & the creator of the whole fun schooling concept makes the whole endeavor that much more enjoyable! You will not regret using this journal-even at full price!
It is a great way to earn about animals
I purchased one for my middle son and my oldest saw it and wanted one to, so of course I had to buy two. It is a great way to earn about animals.
My 11yo Son Gives This One 2 Thumbs Up!
My 11 yo son is using this as his main journal he picked it out after watching the review video below. like the other journals it has them pick library books on subjects that interest them but this one also has where they draw 5 animals that they want to study, he really enjoyed this & took his time with it. The 1st pg to work on has a lovely drawing of a tiger with the caption, Five Facts About Me: he then looked through our home library & read through several books to find his facts. so in this one pg he was learning how to research from several sources. it has the cutest mazes, places to draw animals of your chose,to journal about what you're reading in the books you chose, origami, creative writing using pictures of cute tiny stuffed animals in interesting settings, cursive practice, spelling, just to name a few. My son loves this journal & said any child that loves animals will too.
My favorite
This quite possibly is my favorite journal for ages 8 through 12! If your child loves animals then this is perfect. It has enough places for writing and such but doesn't feel overwhelming to the child that isn't as into writing. As always, meet your child where they are... so for a kid who struggles with writing, you can take dictation for them or let them copy (so they don't have to come up with content while trying to focus on mechanics) you can write lightly in a pencil and let them trace the words with a darker color. The variety in this book has worked well so far and choose to do as many or as few pages as works for your child. You could have a time limit or page count for them to do per day. Add a stack of library books with this and some math and you are all set. :)

It is such a delight to watch him record what he has learned it
My 10 year old loves his All About Animals journal! It is such a delight to watch him record what he has learned it. It is so important for kids to know how to research to find the hows and whats of life. This journal makes it enjoyable to do so.
great value
Exactly what it said it would be. Nice thick pages. Good condition.
It has the perfect mix of common and uncommon animals
My daughter loves this book. It has the perfect mix of common and uncommon animals. I love the copywork part the book, knowing she is learning grammar and spelling. She especially loves the drawing pages and is becoming a better artist because of them.
Favorite Book!
This is one of my very favorite Thinking tree journals! It is so cute and my son loved it!
This book was a perfect fit for her
We have been homeschooling for a few years now. We hit a brick wall. I saw this advertised and decided to try it out. My daughter is now reading the books she's interested in. I'm not fighting w/ her to read each day. She loves the creativity. This book was a perfect fit for her. I just recently ordered another one to encourage the cursive writing.
