Thich Nhat Hanh’s Greatest Hits
This is a wonderful book, sort of like Thich Nhat Hanh’s greatest hits. Melvin McLeod, editor of The Shambhala Sun, has combed through more than 30 writings by Thich Nhat Hanh or interviews with him to select the 365 passages in this book. The writings span nearly 40 years of Thich Nhat Hanh’s insight. The book ranges widely from succinct explanations of profound Buddhist teachings to simple but sincere and helpful daily motivations to do good in the world. I suppose this book was designed for readers to finish in a year, absorbing one passage a day for 365 days. I’ve had this book for a while now and am discovering that it is a book for a lifetime. I meditate on / practice with one passage for days at a time, and am slow to move through the book. Highly recommended. I’ll leave you with this quote. I opened the book just now at random and discovered this succinct gem: #246, One Contains All. When you touch one thing with deep awareness, you touch everything. The same is true of time. When you touch one moment with deep awareness, you touch all moments. According to the Avatamsaka Sutra, “The one contains the all.” If you live one moment deeply, that moment contains all the past and all the future in it.
If there were more than 5 stars I would give 10!
I use/ have used a lot of daily meditation/inspiration books. Your True Home is far and away the best! It is deep, challenging and full of wisdom. I have been through it several times and still many of the readings just blow my mind. I will never outgrow or tire of this book. It is a beautiful gift from one of the world's great teachers!
Perfect secular daily "devotional"
I love having a morning reading to think about or meditate on before my day begins. Unfortunately most of the daily devotionals I have found are religious, or just not my style. This book does the trick. I love it! Beautiful reminders and they somehow always seem to fit my life just perfectly.
Wise daily reflection
I use this book for daily reflection - I read it and then write a short version in my planner as a daily reflection when I’m making my gratitude list. The entries are short, and some are a bit “in the weeds” of Buddhism, but they’re usually clear and insightful. Some of his writing is positively poetic, and the editor did a good job selecting the material.
Home is where your Heart is
my book arrived just today, but i already know that i love it and shall bring it with me on morning and evening walks and for the waiting time before lectures concerts and theater. how do i know this to be true? i have read and cherished a copy of this book for two years now - a present from my sister on my moving to my new home. my original book has not only its pages covered with penciled thoughts and dog-eared at most corners, but it has literally been torn in half (the binding subsequently protected with linen tape) so that i can slip it easily in my pocket. if you are organized and methodical and possess self-control, there is one brand-new thought for each of the year's days. if you are like me, you'll dive in at whim - opening it at random, flitting back and forth. the gentle philosophy and subsequent suggestions you will read, are repetitive - they will set up a cadence in your thought - of the little truths that are the whole of truth and the simple ways to truly experience and appreciate your meaningful joyful life.... and i wish for you, too, the well-being that i have experienced from MY copy (copies) of this book(s)....
A Real Jewel
A jewel of a book with wonderful and easily accessible insights to living a good life. I highly recommend it to all who would like to have more happiness and loving-kindness in their lives.
the truth in simple, short meditations
Thich Nhat Hanh has become my favorite, beloved Buddhist writer, up there with Pema Chodron. The beauty of Your True Home is the simple, concise, daily meditations that are thought-provoking,loving, compassionate and true. As a former Christian, I am embracing the Buddhist philosophy of acceptance of ourselves and love for everyone in the world. I adore this book!
Beautiful book
This book sets on my nightstand & I read a page every night. Subject matter is timely & puts one in a positive frame of mind right before bed. Book was in great shape & is holding up well.
This is one of my favorite daily devotionals
This is one of my favorite daily devotionals! I read it every morning when I wake up. It is nice to have a devotional that is a little different from others in that follows the Buddhist way of thinking. Every day has great advice that I try to follow in order to have a great day!

I love this book
This is a wonderful book. I read one passage daily. It recommend it to anyone looking to connect spiritually.
Excellent guidance for everyday life.
I got this as a gift and have since purchased a 6 more to give to family and occasional strangers. My favorite way to read is to open randomly during morning meditation and see what surprise counsel awaits. Sometimes I'm shocked at how the reading fits perfectly with a question or concern that has been on my mind. Often, there is powerful very direct guidance. I love this friendly little book!
A wonderful way to start the day
I've been selecting random pages from this book for several years - then I lost the book! So, glad to have found it again. This well written and edited book offers thoughtful selections from Thich Nhat Hanh's writings. I highly recommend it!
Inspiring and Beautiful
I've just come to know about Thich Nhat Hanh not long ago and I must say, what an inspirational being. His outlook on life is amazing and beautiful and he really makes you want to keep positive and you start to see more out of life. Your eyes open up more and you stop to really see. I love this book and I look to it during my down days and days I need some inspiration. It is definitely a must have and I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. Incredible and enlightening. Also a great gift to give.
So helpful! Recommend to everyone!
This book was so very helpful to me. The readings are calming, thoughtful, and have given me a wonderful mindfullness approach that I hadn't realized could very much change my every day life and outlook. I truly recommend this to everyone!

Completely worth the purchase
A daily read for me at morning and night. I love Thich Nhat Hanh and I love his books. The teachings are inspiring and if you apply them result in a very pleasant life experience. :)
Great daily messages, numbered not dated.
Awesome book; awesome seller. Daily messages are numbered, not dated. Fine by me but you may want to know that.
Great read
Great book to read and review often. Calming to read. Wonderful
Perfect Daily bedside spiritual inspiration
I love Thich Nhat Hanh simple wisdom. Read in the morning and contemplate the wisdom and truth in the short daily spiritual writings. My Yoga teacher uses this as her daily inspirational teacher.
a great gift for others working on themselves
Such centered reflections! Worth every cent. Also, a great gift for others working on themselves.
A good daily reminder
I read one entry every morning, and it is invaluable in framing my perspective for the day. Some entries are stronger than others, but overall the book is a welcome addition to my daily routine. Thich Nhat Hanh is someone we can all learn from.
Inspirational
Even if you are not a Buddhist, TNH is still worth reading and his philosophy and Buddhist philosophy in general is compatible with most other religions (except Islam and Evangelical Christian). Recommended for the budding Buddhist or for anyone who wants to add to their understanding of God, man, and the Universal principle of love.
Love it
This is one of the best books I have ever bought. I’m so grateful to this teacher.
Very insightful.
This is a wonderful book written by an amazing man that I have learned so much from over the years. I look forward to making this a part of my daily meditations.

Great read! Very motivational!
Life changing
I wish I could be more like Thich Nhat Hanh. This book us awakening the mindfullness in me.
Great little book.
I really enjoy reading the passages in this book in the morning.
Meh
I was hoping for a daily dose of things to think about or actual steps I could take each day for mindfulness but much of this is random sentences that aren’t very enlightening.
A flower of tremendous beauty
An incredible man and a wonderful book. Excellent introduction to the practice of mindfulness.
Solid daily meditations
A great way to start off the day. Nothing mind blowing, but nice reminders to be good to ourselves.
I’m a buy for your library
Simple but yet thought provoking
GOOD FIND
Lovely daily inscriptions. This book is definitely a must have for anyone practicing meditation or studying Buddhism. It is the perfect reminder to be mindful each and every minute you are breathing. Thich Nhat Hanh speaks simply but his words are powerful in their meaning. I do recommend this book.
Great Way to Start the Day
I read one of these each morning before meditation, and it is a great way to start the day off. The concepts discussed are thought provoking and bring me peace. Each concept is fairly short, about a paragraph, and you could probably read it in under a minute.

Loved the book
Great book! Received damaged copy though..
The writing in the book is great! Calming mindful tidbits. I am giving this a lower rating only because the book came with these unfortunate black smudges on the cover :(
Looking forward to 2020!
Perfect
Great book for the nightstand
I've purchased this book for several friends and keep one on my nightstand to read just before bed. Absolutely a must have!

These daily readings are better understood if you have some knowledge of Thich Nhat Hanh's belief system. They are very practical and often inspiring if you somewhat know his philosophy.

Just what I needed for by my bedside. A great way to wake up every morning.

Thich Nhat Hanh writes in a clear, precise way. This particular book I use as a daily check-in, reading one page daily as food for thought for where one is in body, mind, and spirit.
To be read a page a day
This is to be read a page a day, not straight through. They are wonderful thoughts, statements to contemplate throughout the day. Just understand that it is not a typical chapter book. If you are a fan of Thich Nhat Hanhs thinking and philosophy you will really enjoy this collection of life lessons and observations.
wonderful!
This book has become my nightly read while recovering from cancer and now starting chemo again. It is so uplifting to me. there are a few pages where I didn't quite understand as I am new to Buddhism. But for the most part easy to understand . He is truly an inspirational man.
Everyday Wisdom for all time
The reader can read a meditation (only a paragraph long) each day and reflect on it, or read many at once. One thing is clear -- as soon as i end the book, i will start over from the beginning. Many of the meditations are surprisingly profound.
Five Stars
Makes you think about all things, quiet contemplation is often what is needed and this provides exactly that.
Watch Out for the Horrible Editing
While I really enjoyed this book, I feel I must comment on the horrible editing. I tried very hard not to allow it to take away from the experience, but it was difficult. Whoever edited this book should not be editing anything. It is that simple and, (unfortunately), that component did take away some of the joy of reading the text, as I was constantly correcting the editing so that I could truly understand the essence of what was being communicated. I enjoy every inspiring word that Thich Nhat Hanh writes and this book is no exception to that. Re-reading his works, I find new meanings and messages in the content. I suggest using it as a daily source of inspiration for a full calendar year.
Inspirational truths
Very inspirational and transforming. It provides me with insight and deepness with its messages fillefld with simple truths. It is one of my daily devotional books.
Engaged!
Thick Nhat Hanh writes clearly and succinctly cutting straight to what is important. These short one or two paragraph writings for each day are a wonderful reminder to keep one grounded as you go throughout the day. Although he is clearly a Buddhist, these writings are nondenominational and are for everyone.
peace
it gives you peace each time yo read a page... beautiful book
This was one of the best gifts I ever gave myself

Daily Peaceful Meditations
Great meditations from the master! I gave this as a gift to my daughter to guide her through her first year abroad. He has such a simple way of guiding you toward peace.
Daily Wisdom
I really enjoyed this sweet little book. Nice to read excerpts of Thich Nhat Hanh's wisdom every day. I keep it next to my bed so I can read one every morning as I wake up to start the day off a little better.
Gentle direction
What is not to love about Thich?
Great for reminders
This book is wonderful to keep you reminded of all the beautiful teachings of Thay. I've been reading a verse each night before bed (usually do a meditation exercise in the morning), so it's great to remind me what I've started to forget throughout the day.

Your True Home: The Everyday Wisdom of Thich Nhat Hanh: 365 days of practical powerful teachings from the beloved Zen teacher
I bought this book as a gift (the receiver loves it) and then received it as a gift myself and I love it as well. Every day there is a short meditation, that is easy to read and understand. I think Thich Nhat Hanh has this amazing ability to help non-Buddhists begin to understand the Buddhist way of living and how to incorporate this wisdom into their own lives.
Great Book!
I love this book and I like to read it at night and to my children. It has great wisdom and something easy to digest everyday.

I love this book. I pick it up daily and read a page or two and what resonates, I carry with me through the day. It's like a jolt of wise advice and encouragement to practice mindfulness. 5 Stars Book for Self-Help Reflection
Like the other of Hanh's books, he emphasizes the importance to embrace ourselves as the main remedy. This book is good for one who is trying to find a meaningful life as what Hanh's motto: "be mindful." This book helps me to know myself better and as the result, I can handle all kinds of emotion much better than before. When I feel truly sad and alone, I will sit alone and recognize its sad feeling as the part of me, and reassure myself that everything is going to be OK. The true positive impact of this book is I am able to heal myself without the necessary of going out to seek help. What I need is time to be alone, and be mindful about my own selves.
Five Stars
This is a wonderful book for meditating I a enjoying it very much
Thich Nhat Hanh is a superb spiritiual teacher

Another 5 star book
I have several of Thich Nhat Hanh's books and love them all...now if we could all follow his advice this would be a better world.
Perfect
This is a very helpful reminder each and every day to be mindful and not to take life for granted! It would also make a very nice CD if maybe read by someone other than Nhat. I find it a little hard to listen to him (understand that is); nothing against him he is wonderful, I just have a hard time with any type of accent in anyone who is speaking to me.

Daily meditations...
Thich Nhat Hanh offers a brief thought for each day of the year if you like. There are 365 of these thoughts, so one could just read one and think on it meditatively. I found that I could not put the work down though. One page turned to the next easily and I finished refreshed. Now I open the book to a random page and meditate upon that bit of wisdom as I believe there is deep wisdom in all of the thoughts of this Teacher.

A wonderful daily dose of Thich Nhat Hanh's wisdom.
Hardly Profound
The cover is attractive. It's easy to read. It is inexpensive. But, it is mostly hogwash. Obvious and trite "truths".
Three Stars
Nice meditations.
Not representative of Thầy's vast body of work
Thích Nhất Hạnh is among the most insightful, inspiring and engaging spiritual teachers today, across a broad variety of themes, and a great poet at the same time. It's a shame that this 'one quote for each day of the year' selection is so limited and repetitive.
I love this book so much
With 365 thoughts, one on a page, I practice one teaching a day, matching what number teaching to what day of the year it is. This is also fun for looking up meaningful dates/friends birthdays and sending them their special teaching. It isn't intended that way, but if you find it meaningful and it helps deepen your practice he'd be happy!
thich nhat hanh - Takes You Home
I have never heard your voice But what I feel in your words Have dyed my feelings the color of soft blossoms opening at sunrise. ////////////////// There are weeks that I have a hard time not opening this book at least once everyday. Your self work with this book could start on any page. I have found that 99% of the time I open the book, the page has significant meaning for me that day, that hour, that minute. His words have helped me be more accepting of my journey, and the journey of others that walk along my way. I have no doubt that everyone will find themselves, just a little more, with the help of the wisdom found in these pages. Enjoy!
Simple, yet profound!
This book of everyday simplicity in its reading brings about peace in my life. Love being able to pick it up at any time and arbitrarily choose a page to read. Definitely recommended.
Full of wisdom
Wonderful book. I love reading a few pages a day to set the day off right. Covers a wide range of topics from emotions to meditation. Keeps me mindful, positive, and thankful!
Huh?
Really? I bought this book? Well, I'm sure that it made me appreciate the fact that I am not dead. Tich Nhat Hahn is an amazing Existentialist, Zen-Buddhist Monk who was nominated by Dr. Martin Luther King for the Nobel Peace Prize for his tireless work trying to bring peace to his war-ravaged homeland of Viet Nam during the violent 1960's. I have many of his books and he is one of very few people that I consider a true, living hero. Tich Nhat Hahn is not only wise like Confucius, he can help you achieve transcendence... So that one day, you too may experience a week with two Saturdays!
Love Thich Nhat Hanh and having his daily wisdom now

I have always loved thich nhat hanh. This book just solidified my love of his writing even more. The book consists of a short passage on each page consisting of 1-2 paragraphs. If I am feeling down, I read one of these passages and am instantly reminded to remain in the present moment.

This is a great book, more than just a one-time read. I read a couple pages everyday and it serves me as a wonderful tool to living a meaningful life. I love it so much that I have already gifted 5 books for friends, family, even people I just met! Everyone can benefit from this book. That's why I love sharing it with people, because we can all use daily reminders to help us through life. :) Def get this book!
Your True Home: The Everday Wisdom of Thich Nhat Hanh
This book has practical wisdom in that its short stories are applicable to uplift the soul in ways that equate to common life events. The author understands the suffering and injustices that individuals endure and the quest to have peace and wellness.
Classic Thich Nhat Hanh!
A really cool book for daily use. (365 individual readings) Each one provides an excellent opportunity for reflection and even meditation. You can't go wrong with this book if you're looking for something to incorporate into your daily practice.
Happiness is
The book arrived right on schedule. In mint condition. I am reading "The heart of Buddha's teaching" first. Soon I will begin to utilize "your true home" The passages are numbered so this book can be used year after year. I like that . Dated passages are not always applicable.
A nice and simple daily read
I am really enjoying this book. I read it every morning and I take time to digest the teachings and apply them to everyday life. Sometimes we don’t have the time to read full chapters; it’s nice to have something short and so sweet to keep you going. An added benefit is the book is a good travel companion: it isn’t too small or too large.
They are wonderful thoughts and I have been reflecting every since
I have been reading Your True Home slowly for the past few weeks and it has been a nourishing journey - the idea of finding the stillness within, the recognition of impermanence, the consciousness of returning to oneself and to here and now, bringing mindfulness into the every minute of living. They are wonderful thoughts and I have been reflecting every since. If you are on the journey or on a quest of finding the inner creative self, then this book is for you. Thanks to this book, somehow I think I may have found the deep well of mine, that offers inner peace, creativity, and nourishment. Definitely a book to keep close.
A little treasure of wisdoms
A wonderful book full of daily wisdoms and positive messages. I imagine Thich Nhat Hahn reading each message and his blessed way of life. This is a book for everyone with some precious little nuggets to lead you down towards a more mindful life.
