Pretty as a posie

This is a pretty awesome book. I like flowers but don’t love them. I love this book though. I’m not going to spend a lot of time typing. I’m just going to show you some more pictures. That’s the best way to decide if you want something. The covers of the book are beautifully designed as always and the paper is a nice heavy paper as usual. I love, love, love the picture with the flowers in the truck. I would say my least favorite pictures are the Beatles. Thankfully there aren’t many of those. What is your favorite. Update your review once you receive your book. Just curious what picture other people pick as their favorite. I’m going to color my favorite one right now. (Truck picture)

Wallpaper w/ a touch of Hanna Karlzon's coloring books as inspiration. Waste of time.

If you've never purchased a Hanna Karlzon coloring book, check them out. She has awesome designs. Apparently, Johanna Basford likes her work because many of the pictures in this book resemble images in Ms Karlzon's books, in particular the scarabs. I own many of Johanna Basford's previous coloring books. This book occasionally gives you a touch of her other works. But, many of the pages have large blank spaces. I purchase Johanna Basford's books because she usually provides full pages of unique & whimsical images to color. This book does the opposite. You get a wreath w/ nothing else on the page or a page w/ just 4 flowers on it. Occasionally you get a page or 2 pages together w/ full images. Unfortunately, many of those images resemble my grandmother's wallpaper. I own about 40 coloring books. I have no problem spending upwards of $15 for a good book. I preordered this book expecting something similar to Ms. Basford's previous works. I was quite disappointed in this book. There is nothing new or exciting in this. I may be being harder on Ms. Basford based on her previous works. But, her previous works are the reason I preordered this book. Seriously, too much ugly wallpaper design & inspiriration from other artists. I already own the books by the other artists. I wanted a new Johanna Basford designed book. This isn't it.

DISAPPOINTED & I bought an extra for a Christmas present.

I have ALL of Johanna’s, Hanna Karlzon, Klara Markova, & Maria Trolle’s (plus other artists’) color books. While l’ve gotten spoiled & now prefer the hardbound books with the excellent grade of paper for coloring, I also love Johanna’s books previous to this one. Also as stated by others, when I opened the book the first time, the binding made a cracking sound & a few of the last pages fell completely out. The paper in this book is very coarse. When I layer the colors (Prismacolor Premier) it’s like they glob on top of each other without spreading and blending together. Just using a single color, I had to bear down to get it spread evenly so it turns out messier than I like. I took a picture of an area where I used a light hand & you can see the paper has a heavy tooth (more texture, better suited for charcoal & pastels). Then I layered white on top, with a heavier hand & the color underneath doesn’t blend, it stacks. I posted another picture from a Klara Markova book where l layered multiple colors & they blended so nicely because the paper is smoother. It’s really a bummer as I don’t enjoy coloring on this type of paper & most likely won’t color any further in this book. I would love a duplicate book with the quality heavy grade paper made for pencils!

IT FELL APART!

This is strictly a review on binding. I hadn't even finished looking through the book when the last 1/3 of the pages dropped out of it. There was no fixing it. I had to disassemble it entirely. Fortunately the glue was so poorly done the pages came out just like the pages of the artist's editions of her previous books. I really miss the sewn bindings. My copies of SG and EF are still solidly bound. I've thumbed through them hundreds of times and not a single page lost. Johanna's skill and talent are NOT in question here. Even with shoddy binding problems I still love her works the best. All of the pictures in this book are beautiful and the paper quality is wonderful. I heard of the Ivy books falling apart and haven't purchased one because of that. Looks like there may be the same problems with this one too. Poor Johanna; I wish her publishers would use printers that are of the same caliber quality as her art. Keep doing what you do, Johanna. Cheers!

Most favorite book by Johanna Basford

This is my favorite book out of all of them. If you love flowers and intricate details, you’ll love this book!

LOVE!!!!

I have recently picked up adult coloring again after taking a break. This book’s timing could not have been more perfect! I have all of Johanna Basford’s previous books and I think this might be my favorite. Of course it includes many many flowers for coloring, but it also includes elements throughout that recall the charming sweetness found in “Secret Garden” and the magic in “Enchanted Forest.” The drawings are varied and include pages that should appeal to both the beginning colorist and the advanced. I haven’t found any pages with impossibly tiny details I personally find frustrating to color (think “Lost Ocean”-absolutely beautiful- but felt more like tedious work and less fun to color). The paper in “World of Flowers” feels smooth but with just enough tooth to handle several layers of color. I’ve experImented with Faber-Castell Polychromos, Prismacolor Premier, and Caran d’ache Luminance; all layer and blend beautifully in these drawings. The paper is heavy and feels the same, or similar, as the paper printed in “Magical Jungle” (U.S edition). Thank you, once again Johanna Basford, for creating this beautiful book and ensuring the many many hours of happy coloring in my future!

My Mom Digs Colouring!

I know this author is my mom’s favourite so when happened upon it on Amazon, pre-ordering was def a must. What my mother is not a huge fan of is flowers so I was super surprised when my mother stated this was one of her favourite books in the author’s collection. In her words “I just love it”. Apparently, it is also larger than some other the author’s other releases and chock full of some pretty intricate stuff. It made a great “just because” gift :)

Beautiful artwork

My sister and I traded coloring books this year, and we each chose a Johanna Basford book to gift. I gave this one to my sister, and she gifted me the Enchanted Forest one. We had both been looking at the Christmas book, and it had specified that the pictures were single-sided. We just assumed they would both be single-sided as well. Neither one of the books we purchased were single-sided. We both like to use markers, so we were a little disappointed, although it was our own fault for not reading thoroughly to make sure they weren't double-sided. That being said, we both loved the illustrations. I broke out my colored pencils and finished the first picture. I appreciate that there are varied degrees of detail on each page. Most books seem like they have pictures that are either all simplistic or all overly detailed. None of these are simplistic, but some are definitely more detailed than others. In my opinion, that is a plus. We are both glad we ordered these, despite our own misconceptions. I will definitely order another Johanna Basford book in the future.

Sadly disappointing

I hate to say it, but this book is so disappointing for me. The same great paper that is capable of holding up to most mediums, though I caution those who use alcohol & waterbased markers as these will bleed through. Watercolor brush pens and pencils do well, just don't use too much water or there is piling & buckling. Using cardstock, butcher paper or cut down silicone cutting sheets (borrowed the last two from other reviews ) will help greatly. I use cardstock under pages with colored pencils. Now...this book is boring. Each page is reminiscent of all the other books minus the hidden shapes. The offerings mimic the same empty spaces, heart shape or floral arrangements from past books. I don't feel excited about this book. In fact, I have had it since it was released & I have not colored anything other than the title page and name plate page. The only reason I gave 3 stars is the quality of the paper & amount of pages. I suggest buying one of Johanna Basford's earlier books, they are fun, exciting and full of wonderful pages to color.

Appreciate Floral Authenticity

I am a newbie to the world of Adult Coloring Books so as I was searching for my first book I naturally went for a book with flowers as I am an avid Gardener. With many different perennials I have and those I love I was very impressed to see the attention Joanna has given to the unique and even rare varieties in this book like the Fritillaria and the varieties within this group. Of course artistic license is expected when it comes to leaves matching a specific flower but overall this book is filled with whimsy and beautiful flowers making this book a favorite. I purchased the spiral bound to allow for complete flat opening and to prevent binding issues. I use various coloring mediums but my favorite are the watercolor pens. Joy.

Pass on this one

The only other JB coloring book I own is Enchanted Forest (published by Laurence King) and unfortunately World of Flowers (Penguin) is disappointing in comparison. - This paper doesn't tolerate blending or layering of watercolor pens. It starts peeling up almost immediately. Another review mentioned not being able to blend/layer with Prismacolor pencils, so I'm not sure good results are possible with any media. - I've had the book for two days and the binding is failing. I checked other reviews and apparently this is a common issue. - No removable dust jacket like the early books. I love the full page spreads in this one, but the quality of the binding and paper make it too difficult to work with.

Gorgeous!

She did not disappoint with this book. I was originally a bit skeptical about a book with only flowers as the primary subject. I thought the pictures would get repetitive but the variety she created is excellent. Some of the pictures with the shelves of gardening supplies and plants remind me of Romantic Country which I also adore. Other pages remind me of Victorian patterns and others are fresh simple and clean designs. There is literally something for everyone in this book. The paper quality is about as good as it gets from American publishers. She included test pages which are always useful. I also love the extended fold out/two page spread at the back. I may have to buy another copy just for it. The only possible improvement would be single sided and acid free. Maybe we will get lucky and she will choose pictures for a World of Flowers artist edition 😊

MAGNIFICENT!!

I have never seen a color book I really wanted to color more than 7-10 pictures. This book I am REALLY EXCITED to color nearly all of them!! Maybe 7-10 I don't want to color in this book! It has a wonderful assortment of drawings that are laid out where You can commit to coloring just a small portion of the whole and walk away. You don't have to invest a huge amount of time to figuring out Your whole color scheme! They are not too complicated so that it would be weeks before it might be done. They are a perfect balance of detail and simplicity that draw me in to nearly all of the drawings. I have 2 other books of hers - Magical Jungle and Enchanted Forest. While I would like to color some in them, they are so complex & I am SO OCD, I get stuck not being able to start as it's too much of a commitment. I don't have a lot of time to color so World of Flowers was made for me!!!! THANK YOU JOHANNA for drawing World of Flowers just for me!!! May Your talent continue to take You to wonderful worlds of imagination!!

This book is the "BOMB" for flower lovers.

This book is the "bomb" for us flower lovers. It is my absolute favorite book by Johanna Basford. Beautiful flowers, designs, and inspiration overflowing. I always get excited when I pull this book out. If you love to color flowers, you will have trouble deciding where to start. There are tons of videos out where people are coloring in this book. You need to watch one or several, and you won't be able to resist. You will see that you need one yourself. (Or maybe 2. I have 2.) Let me know if this review helped you decide to purchase this book. I really do want to know. Thanx, Mindy

I didn't know anything about adult coloring books.

I didn't know anything about adult coloring books. Reviews mentioned type of paper, perforated pages, etc. I got 5! I chose how well I liked the content, rather than choosing perforation, etc. I searched amazon for hours the past couple weeks, pretty tiring. Then put some of the Cart coloring books into Saved for Later. I looked and re-looked! This was a win. The coloring books arrived today, and I gave all 5 of them 5 stars! Truly, each was a 5. 2 of these I liked even more, and this coloring books is one of them. So, I'd give it a 10. This one is my favorite of all 5. In fact, initially, I don't even want to color the pages, they are so beautiful in black and white!. I WANT to sit and look at them, one by one, and "dream" of how I will eventually color them - and I might even takes notes of my initial thoughts. Like I said, this is new to me. Also, I decided to splurge, not an easy thing to do, and got the 150 colored pencil set - because I didn't want to start out with too small of a range of colors and get discouraged, and then give up! Yes, 90 pencils would be good, 24 might even work. I was thinking I might actually like coloring, and didn't want to make a second purchase of pencils to get a larger variety.

Great Book Shipping Leaves A Bit To Be Desired

This is my first coloring book from this author and it looks great. Sometimes these adult coloring books have pictures so detailed there's hardly any room for even a colored pencil in the individual sections. This book is designed for ink and colored pencils or markers with a very small bullet or brush tip, but they're not so small that they'll make my eyes bleed or cross. I actually like that there's the option of some white space. The paper is heavy enough for marker and ink, but they suggest that you keep a sheet of paper or cardstock behind what you're working on to catch bleed-through ink. Unfortunately, that means you'll ruin the back side with bleed-through. There are also several blank pages for testing your coloring implements for color or bleed-through. It's a win-win for me because I love using colored pencils. The problem I'm having is that it was shipped in a plastic envelope without any backing material, and my mail person folded it in half to shove it in my approx. 12" x 6" mail box with the result that the coloring book now stands in half moon shape. It'll flatten out, but it is a bit irritating. It isn't Amazon's fault, I know, but it could have been prevented. My mail person--ages ago--once folded a Big Book JC Penny catalog into an S curve and shoved it in my mail box. Update: I figured it'd flatten out, and maybe it will, eventually. I left it under heavy books--at least ten pounds--for a week and the photos, above, are the result. It's not going to keep me from enjoying the book, but it's definitely an irritant as it's not the binding. So, if you're particular, you might want to order from someone else or buy the book local.

Awesome artist and great quality paper!

Love this book! It’s one of my favorites. The designs are not too detailed, so they’re great for colored pencils. The paper is excellent for markers, pens, or color pencils (but alcohol markers will bleed through). It’s not watercolor paper, but I have used watercolor pencils, just be careful not to get it too wet. The designs are also great because you can add in backgrounds and personalize the pages if you want, but they also look great without any embellishments, for those of us less artistically inclined. I’m a colorist, not an artist, so I just like to work with what she provides. I will probably buy a second one because I enjoyed coloring some of these pages so much, and now I want to re-color with different color schemes and techniques. I also love Enchanted Forest (I now own three!) and her Christmas book!

Always a pleasure and a delight to spend time coloring a Johanna Basford book

I have all of Johanna Basford's books and after the disappointing previous book (I only disliked it because it was a lot of story and not all colorable art) it was good to see a new book of floral art by her coming out. Of course, I had to have it and when I got it the first thing I did was sit down and flip through it casually and quickly to see how many pages made me say, "I need to color that," and in this case it was at least half the book. The paper is, of course, the same exquisite paper that is in her previous books and coloring on it with Polychromos pencils is simply wonderful. If you're unsure, find a copy and flip through it yourself and see if anything speaks to you in there. If so, then you'll have a great time working on the art with your chosen medium.

Great with pens!

This floral coloring book has an excellent balance of some moderately- busy designs to less- busy designs. Some with more intricate detail but not so much that it's overwhelming and something you'd be less likely to finish. I love to outline in darker colors and the lines are just the right thickness and tint that the black outline of the design can be camouflaged. BIC permanent markers- moderate amount of bleeding through design on opposite page Staedtler pens- no bleed Sakura pens- no bleed Tombow Dual Brush pens- no bleed. This has become such a favorite of mine that I continue to purchase additional copies once I've finished coloring all of the designs.

Another terrific Basford book.

I have to admit, I'm a tiny bit tired of coloring flowers in adult coloring books, but I'm always excited to get a new Johanna Basford book, regardless of the number of flowers. This book has the quality of her last few - some double page spreads, two-sided pages, a creamy color for the paper, and both detailed and larger areas to color. It has a nice variety of types of layouts, and the tooth on the paper is what it was in Magical Jungle and books since then. I'll keep ordering these coloring books (and sometimes double and triple copies) as long as Basford keeps publishing them.

Get yourself some good pens or markers!

These are my favorite coloring books and this one did not disappoint. I have three of this author/illustrator’s books now and I enjoy them all. This one does feel a little similar to her Secret Garden book so if you own either of those and are looking for a second, maybe check out Lost Ocean or Magical Jungle if you want more variety. Otherwise it’s another beautiful book.

The best Johanna Basford coloring book yet!!!!!

I have all of Johanna Basford’s coloring book, and the story/coloring books as well, and this is the best one yet!! Johanna recommends that her books be colored with colored pencils, however, I use pens because I like the bold colors that only a pen or a marker can give.

It's a Basford - what else can you say?

If your a fan of Johanna Basford's coloring series as a whole, this one will not disappoint. Beautiful, and often very detailed, images. I do consider ALL of her coloring books to be at least mid-level, if not higher, for adult colorists. Lot's of details in these, so not for the casual colorists IMHO. The only issue I have with this book (and many others) is that there are images printed on BOTH sides of each page. so if you're an alcohol marker user, this will cause you to lose the image on the back of every page you color.

Best adult coloring book EVER!

I've been coloring my way through the pandemic and finally found the World of Flowers. This is the most beautifully drawn book of flowers I've ever seen! Loved it so much I sent it to a friend who loves flowers and may not color it but will enjoy the drawings. As soon as I opened it I started at the inside cover and began coloring my way through those pages. What a treat! Wish it had a spiral binding, but you can't have everything.

Glad I Bougth This!

As opposed to some of the harsh reviews about this book, I find it a lovely addition to my collection of coloring books. It is well made with no pages flying out, as mentioned by others. The paper is very nice and my Prismacolor Premier pencils take to it beautifully. Layering, blending and shading go seamlessly. I also like the assortment and variety of pictures, which range from pretty to whimsical. It's a book that I recommend :)

No single-sided version available.

I actually love all Johanna Basford colouring books. BUT, I'm giving 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️'s because there are no complete versions of her books that are single-sided. (Yes, I know about the Artist Editions, but they're only a small selection of each book.) With her popularity, I have to think someday she will sell single-sided versions of her books. When that happens, I'll buy them all.

Too Detailed and Difficult to Enjoy

Overall, a nice coloring book, however it was too difficult and detailed for my mother. She is in an assisted living facility and I thought she might enjoy it, however the pictures have many small sections and are very detailed making it difficult for an older person. Also, pages are 2-sided so you need to fold the pages over to color which is also difficult. I would not recommend this book.

It's fun to color beautiful flowers!

I just got this book a few days again, but I am a fan. I have several of Basford's previous books, and I love them all- especially "Lost Ocean"!- but I think this is my favorite for actual coloring. I have only abandoned it for the moment to spend some time with her equally-great Christmas book, "Johanna's Christmas". The designs are intricate, with a lot of floral variety, and it's fun to maker one page somewhat monochromatic while keeping it interesting- and on another, let the colors go wild! And since in real life, flower colors range from modestly tasteful though neon exuberance, it's easy to "color your mood" with this. Recommended to colorers!

Super Fun Coloring Book

I own several of these books by this author. I use gel pens, and highly recommend them. The author does a wonderful job creating unique pictures and themes to color. The quality of the pages have been great, and the images are beautifully created. I highly recommend this book to relax with, and enjoy quality time with a friend or loved one. Enjoy this book!

Beautiful and Fun

I was first introduced to Johanna Basford's work when Penguin posted some free coloring pages online near the beginning of the stay-at-home Coronavirus stuff. I love Johanna Basford's style. This book has so much more than I had hoped for. Beautiful and fun pictures to color. And I love that the paper is very thick because I like to use watercolor markers and the color will bleed through thin paper. I am also very happy that there is a blank page to test out your colors because I often do that since I use different brands of markers.

The Best.

Johanna Bashford's books are always good. What I especially like is the quality of the paper. It takes colored pencils well and pens do not bleed through. The drawings are a perfect balance of realistic looking flowers with a touch of whimsey. I have all of Bashford's coloring books and this is one of my favorites. I can't wait for her next collection.

This book will keep you relaxed and busy for a long time!

Johanna Basford has the best adult coloring books! I have shown 2 pages I’m coloring (held by my daughter) to give you an idea of what the pages are like. Enlarge if you can. I have this book and her Secret Garden book, and I love them both!! Here is a photo of vines from the Garden book to give an idea of her style. Great drawings on high quality paper!

Johanna has done it again

This and Ivy & the Inky Butterfly are honestly the two best books that Johanna has created. I think that the other books were kind of annoying because many pages were designed for the colorist to draw in stuff.....which isn't typically what we do....we complete the picture by adding some color and flair. to expect a colorist to draw in a bunch of stuff in order for the page to look half decent is annoying.....so I'm glad that she hasn't done that much in the past couple of books.

Not just another flower-based coloring book

Quite possibly my favorite coloring book from Johanna Basford! It is much less detailed than some of her other books (like Lost Ocean), and while that might be a bummer for some people it is a plus for me. I love a detailed coloring book when I'm in the mood for it, but usually I want more mindless coloring, and bigger spaces and less detail make it easier for me to achieve that. I was a little unsure when I first heard about this book because there are SO many flower-based adult coloring books out there, but this one, to me, is special. It's definitely in my top 3 favorite adult coloring book so far

None

I gave a message about this coloring book that many pages had been colored in it looked like a child and then there was one picture that had been totally colored at first I thought it was part of the book but then later I realized that someone had color than the person sent me a message back and said not to return it but now you’re asking for it to

FELL APART!

Love the quality of the paper and the authors work. Do not love that while coloring my first page in the book the pages following began falling out. Poor, poor quality binding. Such a shame to lower the quality of this lovely book with poor workmanship!

AWESOME!

Well, I have every single one of her books and now I have 2 of these but I have bought 3 of them and I gave one to my sister while I kept the other 2. I love them! It is really easy to relax and just color these wonderful creations. This is by far one of my go-to favs. The paper is very nice and some of the pages even come out. It has a couple of double pages and even a couple of fold-out pages.

Beautiful Book

This is my first Johanna Basford coloring book. I am blown away by the quality of this book. The illustrations are gorgeous and the paper is thick. The only negative would be that the pictures are printed on both sides of the paper. I love this book and am excited to start coloring in it! Thank you Johanna!!

Very pretty book

I was a little disappointed when I saw the name of this book. She's my favorite artist so I wait every year to see what's coming. I prefer it to last year's children's book but I have to admit I'm a little fatigued on the flowers and plants. The art work is beautiful though and I'm still excited to color some of the designs. I'm holding out hope for an Autumn book one of these years 😊

Quality paper and gorgeous art

I have all of Johanna Basford's books and this one is now my favorite. Everything I've gotten of hers has good paper quality so that is a given. Her art is always beautiful. I really have zero complaints about this book. I can't imagine a negative review of this coloring book or even anything less than 5 stars to be honest.

Best Johanna Basford Coloring Book

So much fun to color! I have nearly all of her coloring books, but this one is my favorite. A good mix of easy-to-color big pictures and more challenging, detailed illustrations, to fit whatever mood you're in. She proves yet again why she's the best in the adult coloring book biz.

Love, A Flower Lovers Delight

The designs are like real flowers so you can recreate the true beauty of nature. My artistic adult daughter likes the elaborate vase pages & grand kids love doing "real coloring". We go out to the garden or park & then try to recreate the colors. My family loves the designs so much, I have purchased multiple.

Happiness is Creativity in Action

I actually started with Johanna's latest book How to Draw Inky Wonderlands, and went back and got her other coloring books for ideas. I'm not much of a coloring fan, but I love to draw and paint my own goodness... Her books and online videos are so full of ideas and support it's marvelous. Thank you Johanna... keep on creatin'...

I own four copies of this book! LOL

I love this book, love the dark line work, love that the images are teeny tiny! The flowers throughout this book are really pretty. There is only one page that I’m not fond of and that’s th skull page. It seems to not fit the theme of the book at all to me.

It’s Johanna Basford, what can I say

Another fantastic JB coloring book. I have and love all her books. The only thing I would list as a con would be that I wish all the books were single sided to allow for use with alcohol based markers, but it’s not a deterrent to keep me from collecting these wonderful books.

Inspirational

I use this to give me ideas to draw. I actually haven't colored any of the pictures, I prefer cardstock to color on. Occasionally I copy one of the pictures to color, they're wonderful. But I don't like the paper. I know it's weird, so many people RAVE about the paper... but I just don't love it.

Great Book!!

I LOVE this coloring book!! I love doing flowers and this book fits the bill. It has great pages to color and a lot of different styles of flowers to chose from. There are full pages of flowers that take some time and then you have small flower bunch that is less time to color. And some in between. Can't say enough about the book, just if you love to coloring flowers get this book, you won't be disappointed!!!

Looovvveee it for work on down time

So many beautiful designs and different flowers. I enjoy the little story in the front I wish the flowers displayed what they’re called but that’s just me. I thoroughly enjoy coloring in this book and definitely less anxious than others that have too many lines.

Absolutely Lovely!

I am so excited to receive Johanna's World of Flowers! I love her adult coloring books and this one even has some improvements such as no drawings in the center creases as well as having no unfinished pages like in The Secret Garden. She also added a palette test page in the back. Now to decide which page to color first!

One of my favorites

Absolutely love all of Johanna Bashford's books. I own every book she has done. Her pictures are so fun and easy to color. My kids all love her books to. The paper quality is good. It's nice and thick and holds up to several different types of medium. You won't be disappointed and you can't go wrong with her books.

Beautiful detailed drawings!!

The pages of drawings are so beautiful and so well done! The weight of the paper supports shading and some water colors if not too wet. My greatest wish is To have the pictures on one side of page only so I could frame or enjoy each & every one more! Occasionally, I make a copy on card stock so I can color and frame both pages!

love love love this book, but!!!!1

only one bad thing i would say, U.S. versions the pages coming out

Great!

Fantastic new coloring book! The author/artist didn't scrimp on her new book, like some other authors have. I'd recommend this to everyone

Happy!

This was the most expensive coloring book I’ve purchased, but I absolutely love that every single page of the book (including covers) has space for coloring. You definitely get your money’s worth! I have noticed that that there was some print ink transfer between some of the pages before I began coloring. However, overall very happy with the book and thickness of the pages.

fabulous!

I love the artwork in this one. very detailed and beautiful. the ink bleeds through though. so I have to pick which side of each page I will do. use heavier paper..that's my only suggestion

I really wanted to like this coloring book but...

I wanted to like this book so badly. But I don't care for the paper. Not sure why it's different to me but I'd rather color in any Creative Haven coloring book over this one. I was very disappointed.

Yellowish

It would have been a higher score but due to the yellowish color and quality of the paper I gave it a lower rating. I just hope the colors does not bleed through when I start coloring because they are double-sided compared to the one, I currently have one-sided with brighter white color pages and thicker. Nevertheless, I like Johanna Basford coloring book designs.

Not what I expected.

Very intricate pictures on some pages, which isn't all bad....the part that I hate is the pages are printed on both sides. That makes it something I won't even ise. Guess I'll give it to someone else. The pictures are pretty....

Great

I love to color and this coloring book is fabulous. Lots of details and a wonderful variety of scenes to choose from. Will keep me busy for a long time. Very happy with purchase

TEN stars for this unique book !!!

If you enjoy coloring flowers, this book is a must for your collection !!!! The drawings are beautifully unique. Although the pages are printed on both sides, the paper is quite thick. I'm a Johanna Harford fan & I believe this is her best work yet!!!

poor quality binding issues with this book

Great pictures that one comes to expect from Ms. Basford. Extremely poor book quality. Colored one page, and the book started falling apart. The same thing happened with her Magical Jungle and ivy books. Someone needs to have a serious talk with Penguin Books

returned immediately

Loved the pictures but how can you color in a book that doesn't lay flat? Folks have said the pages fall out - not surprising given the binding of this book. Johanna's xmas book is bound with a spiral. Much, much better design. I returned this book promptly and ordered the artist edition because I love the pictures so much. Hopefully the binding is not as thick as this book. If so, that will be returned too. The format of these books really needs to be changed.

Appealing designs

My wife says this is her favorite coloring book. Every page is appealing. Authentic flowers, variety of settings and designs. Nothing too small but there is good detail. Nothing too big either so you don't get stuck coloring in a huge space. Negatives :The pages are thick but Copic markers bleed through. (ZSCM markers bought from Amazon don't though.) It's a thick, bound book so it can be hard to work with unless you are at a table. It would be better if it were spiral bound.

Stunning!

This book is stunning and really highlights Johanna’s talent for creating beautiful inky flowers. I love that there are different sizes of flowers to color and some interesting compositions as well. If you loved Secret Garden, then you MUST add this book to your collection! I can’t wait for her next book!

Beautiful color book

Really like this authors books and the little details she puts in her books. Would recommend for others as well. Hoping to see more inky adventures from Johanna Basford books

World of Flowers is beautiful

I love this coloring book ! The instructions that come with this coloring book are very helpful using coloring pencils and layering the different colors for beautiful affects. Thank you Johanna Bashford for creating beautiful coloring books. I love them all !!

Amazing choice

I received this as a Christmas gift a year ago and I saw it on here so I actually bought it so I could do it again... it has a lot of selections... definitely recommend it

Let the flowers guide you to the perfect colors! Perfect coloring book!

I love everything about this book!! The subtle details to the intricate. You can be completely creative and make these pages as colorful as you want and they will always be very pretty!! I would give this to those ages 12 to 100. Nothing boring about this coloring book!

Another great one!!

I always pre-order two, one for me and one for my daughter! We love to color. We try to snag time during nap time when we can these days. We used to color a lot before she had the baby. I guess soon the little one will have her own coloring book!

beautifully designed coloring book

I found this series of books to be more challenging than my other color book purchases. I bought three different designs and enjoy them all.

Lovely pictures

I very much like the pictures in this book, but I didn't realize that they are printed on both sides of the pages. I usually use markers, and bleed-through is an issue. So, I've mostly switched to colored pencils for this book.

Great book

Love this coloring book! Thick pages. Colored with soft colored pencils and then highlighted with colored brush pens. Did not leak to back. Really interested pictures. Highly recommend this artist. Got another one of her books on gardens.

Coloring Book, Love it!!

I am very pleased with this coloring book, what more can I say! Well, you can use ink on the pages and they don't bleed through to the next page. the pages are thick, the pictures lovely and help me relax while I color.

much like her other books

This book is similar to other Joanna Bashford books, most are good, some weird bugs, some intricate, overall very nice. The paper quality can't be beat.

GORGEOUS!

Got these for the ladies (and one for myself) in my Church's coloring group as a Christmas gift. WOW, Ms. Basford's talent and skill are always evident in her works, but this book has to be my all-time favorite. The ladies and I loved them. Thank you so much for putting so much heart into your work Ms. Basford!

Beautiful flowers

This coloring book is something special. I can't imagine anyone sitting and drawing all these tiny pieces but, I'm glad they did. The flowers are very pretty, when your done coloring then you can choose which of them you would like to frame. I doubt you can decide. You won't be sorry with this one.

Nice book but incomplete

There are many pages that suggest that you finish the drawing with lots of empty spaces - I found this really annoying. But the drawings that are complete are generally very nice with a good amount of detail.

5 Stars As Usual!

Love love love her coloring books! Am enjoying this one immensely, as I esp love coloring flowers! If you love her other coloring books and LOVE flowers, this one will not disappoint.

Great book it's so lovely

This is probably my favorite Johanna basford coloring book yet. This book was inspired by her grandmother. So it's going to be like older items like perfume bottles and plants. You can follow me on Instagram @colorsofpayne

Best Johanna Basford coloring book so far. Love it!

Stunning book and my favorite from Johanna Basford. There is a lot of variety in the drawings with some rather simple and others very detailed. I only wish it were single sided so I could use markers. For that I will wait for the Artists Edition.

Superb

Superbly nice coloring book. Intricate flowers in hundreds of unique designs. High paper quality. Gel pens do not bleed through.

Dependable!!

I can purchase any time, with confidence, these items, knowing I have a suberb product to create and finish any art work.

A must have coloring book!

I really enjoy all of Johanna Basford's books but this one is really fun if you love flowers! Hope I can color in ALL her books but really look forward to this one!

10/10, Would recommend

I love this book! Gorgeous pages, with detailed designs and the paper works perfectly with gel pens without bleeding through the paper.

excellent illustrations and great you tube tutorials available

Love all Johanna's books but this may be my favorite. Flowers are my favorite things to color and the illustrations in here are exquisite.

Favorite book of hers by far!

This book is so gorgeous. It’s not too overwhelming to color. I own almost all of her books (I didn’t get the jungle one because lots of reviews mention it was a hard book to color) and this one is my favorite.

Lovely adult coloring book

Beautiful adult coloring book, I love flowers, the pages in this book has a plethora of beautiful assortment of flowers, once completed you can frame your artwork : )

Flowers, joy, love all in this book!

I just love all the flowers, critters, and sheer JOY of Johannas challenging books. I don’t do them fast, I do them well. Super cheap therapy. I stepped away from mandalas and my art is improving a great deal outside my usual zone. I highly recommend this book.

The Best

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. She is an amazing artist who encourages creativity. Her books are never filled with duplicate, blah pictures. The paper, the binding, etc. is worth every penny.

Lovely pictures, but...

I really dislike that they are printed on both sides! I find it easier to color pictures after removing them from the book. Still undecided about keeping the book....

The pages ability to be released from the book

I love the designs but since I like to either frame or present my colouring to friends i would like to see the pages have the ability to be torn from the book.

Johanna has done it again!!!

If you've been on social media, you've undoubtedly seen pictures from this book. They're amazing! There are pictures on each side of the paper. The paper is top quality, bright, white cardstock. Every picture is unique. I highly recommend this book.

Pages keep popping out.

I really like this book. I have all of J.B.'s books and The Lost Ocean is my favorite and this one comes in second for me. However, I am very disappointed because the paper is of lesser quality and the pages are falling out! The other books I have from J.B. are in great condition and with heavy use. This book has beautiful flower pics to color but the book itself is poorer quality. What a disappointment to have pages falling out!

Cheaply Made Binding - Pages Falling Out

I have bought every single Johanna Bradford coloring books for myself and many more as gifts. When coloring a page towards the back the pages fell out of the book. I was shocked this has never happened before. The binding is horrible and I am so disappointed by this. I like keeping the books as a whole.

Wonderful book

Another wonderful book by Johanna Basford. Beautiful pictures of flowers. Some very detailed while others are more simple images. I love all her books.

Anyone can do this and enjoy. So much to learn.

I liked the beauty and different skill levels involved. Her works are a true pleasure regardless of age and skills. Really a pleasure to work..

Lovely drawings

Beautiful drawings, color lays down and blends very easily, and gel pens do not bleed through to the other side

a lovely gift

this was a gift to a hospitalized friend with limited mobility. she enjoyed it very much!

AWESOME!

I usually don’t like a coloring book. I like it enough to order it, but I wind up not liking it when I start to color in it. I find myself putting most of the coloring books I get, on the bottom shelf. This book. I LOVE every page and it’s in front of me all the time. I like to work in 3-4 at a time, so I don’t just get tired of one...BEST one, so far!

Johanna basford world of flowers !!

This is a really fun and elegant flowers coloring book I have just 3 of Johanna basford books I ordered a inky wonderland drawing book too

BEAUTIFUL BOOK TO COLOR

I like the art work to color--the book came with a damaged cover--wrinkled and split but inside was ok--I kept it------

AWESOME ILLUSTRATIONS ~

I Love "ALL" Joanna Bashford Books. The imagination alone makes you want to color !!!

Disappointed

I loved the drawings but the pages came away from the binder with the first page I colored.

Love it

If you love to color flowers, this is the book for you. I like everything about it

I Love beautiful Flowers

I like the World of Flowers coloring book so much I bought two of them for myself.

Beautiful

The artwork is very nice. There is a good variety in this book ranging from intricate designs that fill the whole page and simple ones. The paper is also fairly thick but be careful if using markers because it does bleed through.

My favorite

Of all of the coloring books from J. Basford this is my favorite. I love coloring flowers and this is just that. Don[t care so much for the little houses in some of the last scenes, but other than that is perfect. You can color all over, first pages, instructions, and the back of the book as well.

Great coloring book, but cheap binding!

I was happy to get this coloring book and immediately began coloring several pages. Alas, soon thereafter pages started pulling loose and falling out of the book. Compared to her earlier work, The Secret Garden, this book is shoddily bound and not well put together. I'm disappointed to say the least!

Beautiful

I have several other coloring books by Johanna Basford, but this one is really gorgeous. Love the beautiful flowers. Coloring these pages brings a happy feeling every time. Johanna Basford is awesome.

Nice

There are many nice flowers in this coloring book. I really liked this one.

Love it!

Just like all of this artists coloring books, I Love it! Cute and lots of fun to color!

Wonderful

Johanna has created another wonderful book for me to be inspired to fill by her lovely art.

Beautiful

This is good quality and beautiful drawing, hours of fun and relaxation

I love it 😍

I love this book!! Many friends I color with bought it after seeing mine.

Best one yet!

I think this is johannas most gorgeous book yet! The same excellent quality paper and beautiful artwork! This has quickly become my favorite book of hers and i have several copies of them all!

Lovely adult book

Like all of her books. But this one is my favorite! Bought it often.

Gift.

I gave this as a gift for Christmas. I believe she really liked it.

I LOVE this book!!

I love all of this authors coloring books! This one did not disappoint! I’ve had a lot of calm time coloring in the new book! Just wish that she would stop printing double-sided. My markers bleed through and mess up so many of the pages.

Love the pictures, took a star off for what I assume is a shipping problem.

I love the contents of the book. My only complaint is that the top of the book has some kind of dent in it that affects the last 1/4 of the pages. It's annoying, but the problem is so minor, it's not worth returning. I'll just live with it. Also the binding is very stiff. Wish she'd go back to the binding from the first book (with stitching).

Wonderful coloring book

The books by this author are in my opinion the cream of the crop. I love to color in them and could do it all day. My pictures are beautiful thanks to the author for the lovely pictures.

Completed set.

I know own all of her books. I just love her work. But I must color the cover before I color inside first. I know weird. LOL

Great adult coloring book!!!!!

I loved the illustrations, all were beautiful! I try to color a lot. Very calming.

Soothing design

Really love this book, flowers are relaxing and beautiful. Have 3 others by this artist and never disappointed.

Favorite Artist

Favorite artist. Looking forward to new releases. Have ordered her books numerous times.

Beautiful Flowers

This is a beautiful coloring book. It has very nice paper. It's almost as thick as cardstock.

More than happy with this book...

Wonderful... I use the pages to make homemade cards. The art it great!

A Beautiful Collection of Illustrations

The pictures are lovely; the paper quality is very good. Cant' wait to start coloring!

Love

I love this so much. It is beautiful and perfect for me

Gorgeous

Love this book of beautiful flowers. I get excited every time I turn the page to start the next picture.

Superb

The best new coloring book out there. Great card stock paper.

Granddaughter love this

I got this for my 9 year old granddaughter and she loved it and is still working in it!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE

Another addition to my Johanna Basford’s coloring books...best stress reliever too!

Another winner!

I thought this would be repetitive of her earlier books, but it is not. It's my new favorite. The paper is high quality. The drawings are a variety of medium to high detail.

Detailed coloring book.

Wow what a beautiful coloring book. I bought 2. I knew they would be nice. Such detail, love it. Thank you!

Beautiful coloring book

This is a very beautiful coloring book. The pages are made of quality thicker paper so different mediums can be used. Would be a wonderful coloring book to give as a gift

Just stunning

I love this book. I think it's the best one. Pages are beautiful!

Another Beautiful Book!

Another great coloring book, has beautiful pictures, and this time she mixed up the content keeping it fresh, not repetitive of her works before! You should totally get it! You won’t be disappointed !

Wonderful book

I love all Johanna's books so much. A wonderful addition to my collection of her books.

Great book

Another great book. Love all the flowers to color

Beautiful adult coloring book

Beautiful pictures, nice binding and very sturdy paper

5 stars

Gorgeous book and was shipped with care

Beautiful book

Arrived a bit wrinkled but I was able to press it flat again. Beautiful art work, great stock paper, top quality and so much fun.

easy to follow

love the style, and whimsical artwork!

Wonderful book

I love this book! It’s very beautiful and has amazing flowers!

Pretty and fun!

Such a pretty coloring book. The pages are sturdy and feel nice. It's nice to add some nature and color to my world while stuck inside in quarantine! Better than I had even expected.

amazing.

These are great high quality coloring books, get them all.

Really great quality

Love this book! Pages are thick like card stock!

Fun

I like this book a lot. Paper is good. Only thing I don't like is pictures are on both sides, but its not a big deal.

So much fun!

Wonderful details. I’ve completed one of the Flower wreaths. Turned out very nice.

Love this as much as the rest.

Very pretty drawings. Not as much detail as some of her books, but still a lot of fun to color and worth the money.

Beautiful

Beautiful artwork, great quality

beautiful color book

will keep me busy for a long time

Like her simple line drawings...

I like her books as examples of what to sketch instead of just coloring.

Love Johanna Basford Coloring Books

This is the second Johanna Basford book I have bought I love these books. They are the perfect mix of highly detailed and more simplistic pictures.

Johanna has done it again! Perfecto!

I don’t know why I didn’t get this when it first came out. Johanna is my favorite coloring book artist and this one does not disappoint. The artwork is stunning and enjoyable to color

Not a review of the book content but the binding!

As several other reviewers have posted, the book content was wonderful but the binding stunk! I hadn't even finished coloring a page when random pages fell out of the book. The binding completely fell apart within a week - extremely shoddy work!

Very beautiful & unique!

The illustrations are beautiful I can't believe how amazing this book is! I'm obsessed. The first page is my favorite. My only complaint is the placement could be better, closer to the edge instead of going into the spine

World of Flowers

Johanna Basford is one of my favorite coloring book artists. Enjoying coloring in this book!

Beautiful!

Gorgeous, as per Basford's usual style. Lots of design variation on high quality white paper.

Great choice

Great artist. Beautiful pictures and good paper.

beautifully detailed

This coloring book is for serious work, very detailed

Beautiful illustrations

What's not good to say about this book, terrific paper, lovely flowers, love coloring in it!

World of flowers coloring book

Once again Johanna Basford has come up with an enjoyable coloring book

My room mate liked it.

My room mate liked it. She likes nature themed coloring books and she ha enjoyed this one.

Great paper for dry media

This coloring book is great, especially for dry media. So far I've used Polychromos and Derwent Procolour pencils for one of the pages with the beetles.

Good paper

Beautiful challenge ,

Best Quality

Best coloring book for experienced adults that like flowers and whimsical. I was very happy with the images and the paper quality. I wish she had other books available more like this one.

Cover soiled looks used.

Cover looks dirty. Bought for a gift.....may have to look for something else. Looks like I’ve been storing it or regifting.

Love her books

Beautiful pictures.
