Great book, inspirational!
I bought this book because I heard about Dr. Richardson’s work to advance education opportunities for students of color. After reading this book, seeing the great challenges he had faced in his life and how he got through it all I was very inspired. I highly recommend this book!
A social gospel journey through a pastor's eyes
Wow!! This was a very powerful book talking about the pastor's experiences through church, home, school, and career dealing with racism and the changing times around him. Black colleges and Black churches are important because we learn so much valuable lessons, build confidence, form a community, and give back. We desperately need these resources as a whole. It's a shame that blacks and some other minorities are facing racism globally but we must keep fighting for our own freedom and rights and resources that we deserve. As a black woman even though I went to a great college I didn't get a full scholarship and I wish I had the chance and opportunity to go to a HBCU with a full scholarship. My education, outlook, and finances would be so much easier. I'm a victim of longterm childhood abuse so I had to use whatever resourses that were available to me even though I wish I could of learned of other options regarding my education. Anyways this was a very eye opening book and if the churches and society could really see our struggles, even the scales, make amends, and reconcile our differences racism and most of the ills of society could me gone much sooner than later, hopefully.
Pastor’s accomplishments in Christian leadership and civil rights
Witness to Grace epitomizes the viridical spirituality of which is God’s endowment to His messenger Rev. Dr. W. Franklyn Richardson. Personal, priceless and loving memories, valley experiences, mountaintop revelations, and God’s awareness of Pastor Richardson’s requisite need to bring His spirit to his manuscript, has met the need for publication with ardent explanations, and spiritual expectations and revelations. Pastor Richardson is endowed by God to speak His word to His people in a clear and definable manner; I am relearning the Christian way through God’s Grace and faith by reading Witness to Grace. Witness to Grace is a must read panegyric for those searching for answers to personal, unexplainable and critical Christian issues that appear to be undefinable. Thank you Pastor for your gift of love, faith, and awareness. Lawrence Diggs Bel Air, Maryland
