Enjoyed his explanation of the separate events and his sound judgement and fair manor with people. A reminder of the dangers CO’s are confronted with daily, and the great service to Michigan they provide. John’s sense of fairness is beyond reproach and appreciate his telling the story.

Great read about the life of our wildlife protectors....and our country. This guy can write! recommend it to anyone loving our animals. Thanks for protecting our resources.

Library book. No purchase. MI DNR officer, John Borkovich sharing stories of his 27 years as a DNR officer in St. Clair County. As a Michigan reader and former hunter/fisherman I found it quite good. Nice lil vignettes, so you can leave off wherever and come back to the book. Quite an exciting career. He definitely met a lot of interesting folks during his career. Explaining how he handled different clients and the reasons for doing so. Nice to read the recollections of a man who truly enjoyed his career and is willing to share his insights into his adventures. Good read.

If you enjoy nature, take a ride through the woods in the middle of the night with John as he devotes his life (literally) to preserving our wildlife.

My family and I Absolutely loved this book. John really has done it all in his almost 30 years as a conservation officer. It Really brings awareness to how badly we need those who protect and sacrifice so much for our Natural world—-

John did a great job writing this book and sharing his stories and experiences as a Michigan Conservation Officer. After reading it I have a new found respect for the tough job our CO's have protecting our wildlife and natural resources in the great state of Michigan.

Well written, easy to read and NOT embellished. Lots of interesting short stories through a colorful career. Congratulations John, on getting your daily reports published. The cover art is great, too!
