WARCRAFT
DAY OF THE DRAGON: A terrifying upheaval among the highest ranks of the world's Wizards sends the maverick Mage, Rhonin, on a perilous journey into the Orc-controlled lands of Khaz Modan. What Rhonin uncovers is a vast, far-reaching conspiracy, darker than anything he ever imagined -- a threat that will force him into a dangerous alliance with ancient creatures of air and fire if the world of Azeroth is to see another dawn.
LORD OF THE CLANS: Slave and Gladiator. Shaman and Warchief. The enigmatic Orc known as Thrall has been all of these. Raised from infancy by cruel human masters who sought to mold him into their perfect pawn, Thrall was driven by both the savagery in his heart and the cunning of his upbringing to pursue a destiny he was only beginning to understand -- to break his bondage and rediscover the ancient traditions of his people. Now the tumultuous tale of his life's journey -- a saga of honor, hatred, and hope -- can at last be told.
THE LAST GUARDIAN: The Guardians of Tirisfal were a line of champions imbued with godlike powers, each one through the ages charged with fighting a lonely secret war against the Burning Legion. Medivh was fated from birth to become the greatest and most powerful of this noble order. But from the beginning a darkness tainted him, corrupting his soul and turning to evil the powers that should have fought for good. Medivh's struggle against the malice within him became one with the fate of Azeroth itself...and changed the world forever.
OF BLOOD AND HONOR: The paladin Tirion Fordring had always believed the Orcs were vile and corrupt, but an unexpected act of honor and compassion sets in motion a chain of events that will challenge his most fundamental beliefs and force him to decide, once and for all, who are the men...and who are the monsters.

Crappy condition Def not “very good”
Love the book for what it is but the condition it came in was certainly not “very good”, especially not what I expected for 50$. The binding is held together by tape half way down and the book looks as ancient as the actual ancients in the book. I would’ve maybe .. MAYBE paid 10$ for it at a yard sale .. Should be more honest about description or lower the dang price at least to suit.
Not "Very Good"
It is more Acceptable but not Very Good. Especially for the price paid. I'm not unhappy as the pages are still readable and it is as stated before acceptable but be very careful when purchasing this or any items. I'd go so far as to say check ebay, you might find it cheaper and be able to see images to get the actual appearance. I did that for a couple of the WarCraft/World of Warcraft books and was not disappointed. Heck I'm more disappointed on amazon of all places. As for the books contents the stories (novels) that it holds are amazing and very much worth the read. Just maybe would recommend looking else where.
"Kagh! Bin Mog g'thazag cha!" This set is fantastic!
This archive, which includes the following four books: Day of the Dragon, Lord of the Clans, The Last Guardian, and Of Blood and Honor, is simply superb. Let's start with the first book Day of the Dragon. Day of the Dragon was a interesting story of adventure and danger as the heroes venture into Grim Batol. It includes the wizard Rhonin, elven ranger Veressa Windrunner, and of course the Dragon Mage Krasus. The book does a good job explaining the motives and ideas of each character, which helps you to relate to them. This book is great as a standalone book, but it would be advised to have some knowledge of the background. I award this book of the set 4/5. Next is Lord of the Clans, which to me, was the best written of all the books. Lord of the Clans follows the story of Thrall as a child, and how he is raised and eventually learns of his true destiny. The author does a fantastic job of helping the readers relate to the struggles of the Orcs. "Kagh! Bin Mog g'thazag cha!" Once you learn the meaning of these words, it really gives you a sense of understanding of the honor the Orcs once had. Whereas in Day of the Dragon, the orcs are seen as the vile enemy, I found in Lord of the Clans I was cheering on the Orcs hoping they would succeed. 5/5 for this one. The Last Guardian is next up. This book is mainly just lore. If you have no interest in Lore, I would find this book quite boring. For me, I was somewhat interested so I enjoyed it. It follows the mage Medivh and gives the background of his character. Compared to Day of the Dragon or Lord of the Clans, which each had its own story and could survive on its own, The Last Guardian cannot. The characters in the book weren't very well thought out, and some characters I really couldn't care less to learn about. I feel the author rushed this book. 3/5 for this one. The last, and shortest of them all is Of Blood and Honor. I expected this one to be quite shallow as its only about a hundred or so pages, but man was I wrong. The book was great. It follows the events of the Paladin Fordring as an unexpected act of kindness by an orc sets in motion a chain of events that would change his world. I award this 5/5 with my only complaint being that I wished it was longer. Overall, I give this product 5/5, because with all 4 books in one big one for such a low price, its a steal. The Lord of the Clans and Day of the Dragon easily make up for the cost, so I took this as me getting two free books! I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to learn more about the Warcraft world, or for fans of the Fantasy genre of books. Overall, GO BUY THIS BOOK(s)!
First-time reader of game-based novel
I only recently started playing WoW at the request of a fellow brother Mason. I previously played Guild Wars for three years. I started reading this book when my character was under level 20. It gave me a lot of background information about the world setting and events that happened outside of those in WC3 and WC3:TFT. Right from the very first page, I was taken aback at the quality and detail of the writing. The one thing that makes the Warcraft world so enjoyable is the easy to remember names. Add in vivid descriptions of a fantasy world and you have the makings of a great story. This particular edition contains four seperate stories. The first is pre-Horde and the next three are tales of characters and stories you can interact with in-game. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in the stories of the Warcraft world.
The stories and characters are great.
All World of Warcraft players should read these! There are a lot of details in the game you will miss out on without reading these books. The stories and characters are great.
An excellent fantasy collection.
=SPOILERS AHEAD= Day of the Dragon - 3.5 Stars - While I liked the writing style, I found the constant (and sometimes pointless) action a bit tiresome. The novel is very plot-driven, and characters often act and think exactly the way they need to in order to keep the story going. Apart from this, I loved Day of the Dragon. The characterization was rather well done, and the sexual tension between the protagonists was especially enjoyable, as it was both simple and well-developed, without any of the Deux Sex Machina idiocy that tends to occur so often in fantasy novels. Finally, I found Day of the Dragon especially enjoyable because it dealt with a part of WarCraft storyline that I knew little about - that being the dragon aspects, how the Orcs enslaved Alextrasza, and the semi-peaceful period following the second war. Lord of the Clans - 5 Stars - Kudos to Christie Golden for writing this novel. It is, by far, my favorite in this collection. It tells the tale of Thrall's life before WarCraft III, at the same time giving us an insight into what the world of Azeroth was like between the second and the third war. The writer focuses on emotions and character development, and wastes no time on unnecessary action scenes. Christie Golden shows great skill when it comes to handling her characters, even managing to present a stereotypical evil baron as a human being that elicits pity, as well as hate. After reading Lord of the Clans, I'm definitely going to buy other novels by C. Golden. Even if you have no interest in purchasing WarCraft Archive, you should consider getting standalone Lord of the Clans - it's well worth it even if you aren't a fan of the genre. The Last Guardian - 4 Stars - While the hero of this novel is Khadgar the mage, the story itself revolves around Medivh and his gradual degeneration into "madness". It gives us an insight into the guardian's personality, and reveals his motives, as well as the outside influences that made him the man (monster) he was. The story is well done, the writing style manages to be ornate and concise at the same time, and the characters are quite believable. Sadly, The Last Guardian was probably written under a deadline, resulting in more then one language mistake, as well as word combinations that are so badly thought out ("most mighty"), that they hurt the story. The thing I dislike about The Last Guardian is the final confrontation; I expected Medivh himself would defeat the evil that corrupted his soul, and then willingly submitting to his punishment. Instead, we get to see Medivh, whose powers are such that he could single-handedly destroy an army of demons, getting stabbed to death by a frail old man. As a direct result, Medivh's pre-death redemption lacks the impact it so rightfully deserved. Overall, The Last Guardian is a very good novel, one that I recommend to any fan of epic fantasy. Of Blood and Honor - 4 Stars - Shortest of the four novels, Of Blood and Honor concerns one paladin's fall from grace. It is a powerful story that bears a strong message; it is easy to keep to one's code of honor in times of peace, but what about the moments when one has to pick between beliefs, and material safety/social standing? The protagonist of this novel makes his choice, and suffers severe consequences at the hands of human hypocrisy, once again proving that good extremes are unacceptable just as much as bad ones are. Characters in this book are masterfully done. Chris Metzen manages to create a believable paladin, a man who lives up to extreme beliefs without turning into a complete idiot, or an inquisitor. Alas, mr.Metzen's writing style is average at best. There are way too many adverbs, and way too few strong nouns. In his fear that the reader won't understand him, the author often explains things that don't need to be explained, like telling us exactly how a character feels, even thought the dialogue, the preceding events, and what we know of the characters, already allow us to draw our own conclusions. Despite its technical flaws, Of Blood and Honor is an outstanding story that I recommend to everyone, regardless whether they play Blizzard games or not.. For those who don't know, the worlds of Azeroth and Draenor provide the setting for Blizzard Entertainment's World of WarCraft MMORPG and WarCraft RTS series. The overall setting has been running for well over fifteen years, and when it comes to depth and sheer size, it is one of the greatest fantasy settings of all time. DISCLAIMER: I've given WarCraft Archive five stars not because each novel in the collection is a five-stars fantasy novel, but because the collection itself is a five-stars fantasy collection. Its overall quality is superb for a game-based novel series.
I play WoW so I am bias
All 10million users of World of Warcraft should read these books! It should be mandatory reading, for the pure simple fact of making the online world we play in richer. Blizzard has created an amazing world with an in-depth history, these books (there are 4 books in the Archive) will provide more in-sight and change the way you look at some of the NPC and locations. While reading these books you will find yourself thinking about locations you have played in during questing, you will go to the website to look up the world map so you can picture where the characters are at. You will love them, and you will want to buy all the WoW books, I have.
Great collection!
Loved it! Knaak is a little weak in the vocabulary and over dramatic but not bad. Christie Golden though is terrific. Maybe I'm just partial to lore about the orcs and Thrall in particular. Lok'tar Ogar! For the Horde!
Great value in the Archive
Day of the Dragon 5/5 Stars. Loved this book. It deals with the five dragon aspects (Alexstraza, Deathwing, Ysera, Nozdormu, and Malygos), all of which you are at least a little bit familiar with if you play World of Warcraft. The WarCraft Archive is worth picking up for this story alone if you are at all interested in WoW's next expansion (due sometime in 2010), WoW: Cataclysm, as the events in that expansion are directly related to it. This was the first Warcraft book I read, and now that I've finished with the Archive I understand there are other books related to Day of the Dragon that I will be picking up immediately. Lord of the Clans 5/5 Stars. By far the best book in the Archive. I can't describe in text just how excited this book got me. I admit it was a rather simple story, but Christie Golden does such an amazing job writing it that I could not put the book down. There is an epic questline in WoW that takes place in Nagrand involving Thrall finding his people (Horde only, sorry Alliance). If you have done that quest in the game, you'll want to read this book since it is basically the background story of that questline. Notable names in WoW that are included in this story: Drek'Thar, Durotan, Draka (think Alterac Valley), Doomhammer, Hellscream, a little bit of Gul'dan, and of course Thrall. The Last Guardian 3/5 Stars. This wasn't a bad book, just didn't live up to the standard the previous two set for me. I did enjoy it from beginning to end. The main character that the story is told through is Khadgar, but as others have mentioned, the real story is actually about Medivh. I like the way this story was put together - it felt like a puzzle, and Khadgar was the person putting the pieces together, and by the time it was finished you had a really nice picture. Takes place in Karahzan, Stormwind, and the Black Morass. Other notable characters include: Sargeras, Garona, and a little bit of Gul'dan. Of Blood and Honor 2.5/5 Stars. Eh, this was a good story, but wasn't written very well. Tirion Fordring seems to be "shocked" and "suprised" everytime one of his peers says something to him. Really Tirion? Do you not know your own friends enough to expect them to say certain things or act a certain way? This got old real fast. Thankfully it is a short story, no more than about 60 pages, 8 chapters. Though the book does a good job of showing the dark side of humanity and the peaceful side of the orcs. And I can say this about it: as much as Lord of the Clans made me want to a Shaman, commanding the powers of the earth, fire, lightning, etc, this book made me want to be a Paladin - a Knight of the Silver Hand. Metzn really captures the awesomeness of a Paladin in his descriptions. Now, all that being said, you should also be aware that Metzn is NOT an author by profession. As the first couple of pages say, he is a "world builder." He takes a large part in designing World of Warcraft and bringing these authors and stories together. So writing isn't his primary profession, but merely something he has picked up from the people he works with. Taking that into consideration, there is no reason you wouldn't enjoy this book if you also play World of Warcraft.
Good reading
Even though I stopped playing the MMO, I find that the storytelling in this book is a much richer experience than I was getting in the game. The writing is great. The story is canon, giving a much more in depth look into the world of azeroth. A good read.

Want Your WOW Kid to Read? Grab this!
My son is a WOW-head and plays the game all the time. Being a parent who wishes he spent more time reading, I found these books to be a great way to extend his interest in WOW, and have him read as well. They aren't 'game guides' but actual stories set in the World of Warcraft. This contains four stories and he seems to love them.

A good introduction to the World of Warcraft novels
_World of Warcraft Archive_ is a collection of four books set in the world of Warcraft, as depicted in the Warcraft games. The four books it contains are _Day of the Dragon_ by Knaak, _Lord of the Clans_ by Golden, _The Last Guardian_ by Grubb, and _Of Blood and Honor_ by Metzen. _Day of the Dragon_ is about the mage Rhonin and the night elf ranger Vereesa traveling on a mission for the mages of the Kirin Tor. There's more to the mission than Rhonin initially lets on, there's more to Rhonin's sponsor Krasus than Krasus lets on, and the minor noble Prestor angling to be king of Alterac is more than he lets on too. _Day of the Dragon_ is a decent book, but not one that really held my attention very well. On the other hand, it's interesting to learn more about the blue, bronze and green dragon flights. I wrote a longer review of it on the page for the stand-alone paperback version. _Lord of the Clans_ is about the early years of orc Warchief Thrall, who was orphaned when his parents were killed and who was raised as a slave by humans until he escaped, found other orcs, learned how to be a shaman, and then how to be a warchief. Although parts of _Lord of the Clans_ are sad, and parts of it are predictable, it is overall a very good and in some ways inspiring coming-of-age story. I wrote a longer review of it on the page for the stand-alone paperback version. _The Last Guardian_ is about the mage Medivh, his early years, his parents, his tower at Karazhan, his by turns knowledgeable and standoffish relationships with the world outside the tower and other mages, and it's also about his apprentice Khadgar. _The Last Guardian_ is a good detective story, with Khadgar piecing together the odd things around him to arrive at a conclusion he'd rather not have known. It's a good psychological novel, about the damnation and the beginning of the redemption of Medivh and the foolishness of trying to determine someone's life for them and never once considering what might happen if they rebel. And if you've ever wondered about what led Medivh to help the orcs open the Dark Portal between Dranor and Azeroth in the first place, and then why he had a change of heart and helped the orcs, humans and elves forge an alliance to stop the Burning Legion, and why Karazhan is such a huge area with so many ghosts and libraries and books in the current online game, then this would be a good book to read. _The Last Guardian_ is by far my favorite out of the four books in this archive, and I wrote a longer review of it on the page for the stand-alone paperback version. _Of Blood And Honor_ is about the paladin Tirion Fordring who is spared by an elderly orc. Against the wishes of many of the other paladins in his own order, Fordring insists on returning that mercy and kindness. For that, he is exiled from the order and from the lands where he lives, and has to decide which path is truly the one of honor. _Of Blood And Honor_ was another novel in this archive that didn't hold my attention very well. The theme of the holy warrior having to fight blind prejudice and bigotry on both sides of a decades-old war is one that's also explored in Weber's books about Bahzell Bahnakson and I like Weber's conception of Tomanak as the god of war and justice more than I like the faceless, voiceless, personality-less Light that appears in Warcraft. And I was more than a bit put off by the fury of Tirion's wife Karandra -- fury at Tirion -- when she finds out why he has been exiled. To be a paladin is to fight for what one thinks is right, and her accusations that he never thought of his wife and son and she's been upset all these times he's been off at war and she had to wait to see if he would come home were, to me, very selfish and self-centered. It's like a firefighter's wife being angry that her husband makes her worry by going into dangerous places, or a doctor's wife being angry that he was in danger of being infected by a horrible disease while treating someone who was ill. I haven't put up a separate review anywhere of _Of Blood and Honor_ and don't intend to, but if I had to rate it, I'd give it three stars out of five. As I said, overall this archive is a good collection of Warcraft novels. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who hasn't played any of the Warcraft games, and out of the four individual novels contained in it, _The Last Guardian_ is the only one I'd recommend on its own to anyone who hasn't played any of the Warcraft games. But if you are playing the Warcraft games and want to know a bit more about the lore behind the characters and places, this archive is a good place to start.
Fantastic, exiting great read.
Although each bok didnt follow on from the last it was essentially filling out the story of warcraft since the beginning. The best book in my oppinion was lord of the clans and coming in close second was the day of the dragon. however this compiltio recieves 5 stars due to the enjoyment i have had with all 4 books. The last gurdian was a thriller more suspense and twists than the other which made it an interesting read. All in al if you enjoy warcraft novels and the fan fiction this is a must buy. Cheaper than purchasing them all seperate aswell Jack, Melbourne
Over all, a good collection for warcraft fans.
Here is how I would list each of the stories in this collection: Day of the Dragon: 3/5 Lord of the Clans: 5/5 (farvorite of the group) The Last Guardian: 4/5 Of Blood and Honor: 4/5 If you have played the Warcraft games before, then you'll enjoy this collection. Great back story as to what was happening before, during and after key moments in the Warcraft Mythology (ex. Thrall's ascension to Warchief, creation of the Dark Portal). Also, it is interesting to see what famous places were like before these events (ex. Stormwind per-Horde invasion, Stratholm pre-Scourge). Though, at times it felt like the same old, 'humans good, orcs bad, elves are hot' routene. If you want to know the back story of WoW, you might be better off playing the older games. But as for story collections, it is deffenetly worth checking out. Hopefully someone will be insipred by these tales to write a Warcraft story more like WoW and less like Lord of the Rings, and I mean more liberal use of magic (most Mages in these stories are winded after basic spells) and the Horde and Alliance shown as equals. Plus more Female leads would be nice to see too.
Amazing Literature
I have read the first 3 of the 4 books listed in this archive and they are all excellent books. David DeCandido's book has an obvious shortfall but I would never spoil that for a reader. The first book is a great tie in with novels done by Richard Knaak and I highly suggest you take the time to read those when you can because from his perspective is where the world of Warcraft come from. The best book in my opinion is the 2nd book, concerning the birth and raising of Thrall. It probably, more than any of the others lays out the epic problems facing the Alliance and the Horde. The only true problem that I would have with these books is that they don't coincide. The characters are different in each book and there is not necessarily a continuation from book to book (not direct continuation, there are subtleties). They are completely different points of view from different authors. I think many people will find they enjoy this, but it was a bit misleading to me. However, don't let that detour you from getting this if you haven't read the novels. You will be HOOKED and find yourself pouring into the novels on a near daily basis. Finally, for the price Amazon is offering it, you would be very unfortunate to not purchase this collection.
For the WOW Role Player
I love these stories! i have to say the guys over at Blizzard have made one of the richest games out there. Not only are their games fun and intresting, they come with such a life of there own. They have really help the Table Top Roleplayer get more into the actual game itself. I would recommend all of the Warcraft books to any WoW and none WoW Player. If you like Fantacy Adventure stories and you like to play WOW. This should be on your reading list. Trust me on this...i have read a lot of these types of books, and the warcraft stories really pull you in. I read the first six, four of which are in this Archive, and have already started collecting the others. This is a must buy...worth every penny.
Interesting Tie-In
Obviously if you have not heard of Warcraft, played any of the previous games, or just logged on and started playing, you would not know some of the background encapsulated in the lore of the world. These books bring a lot of the characters to light, and allow you to immerse yourself in the world surrounding you. Decent reads all...
Great Collection of the History Of Warcraft
All of these books provide unique, refreshing views on different settings and characters across the lush, rich Warcraft universe. I'm not going to get into detail, but the books were all very well written, and while the subject matter was exciting for me, it might not interest all fans of the genre. These books are rich with Warcraft lore, and while they're a great read, some might not find the same value in them as they might not know the characters and environments as well. Still, they are all a fantastic read, and I highly recommend this archive, especially at the asking price!
LOVE IT!!
This is a great set of books!! I found it difficult to put this book down. This is another set of Warcraft Series that I would be more than happy to read more than once or twice.
Nice to have if you're a backstory fan
The Warcraft Archive is nice just because it's a cheaper alternative to purchasing all the books contained within, however none of the stories will leave you either amazed or enthralled. If you're a big fan of the Warcraft universe like I am then you'll want to pick this book up just read some of historic bits and pieces, and also to immerse yourself into the world of Azeroth. Unfortunately story quality leaves a lot to be desired - treat your expectations for the Warcraft Archive like any other "book set in video game world" and you won't be disappointed. If you're expecting high literature, well... so... uh... how 'bout them Orcs?
Epic
It was the first of many books I've read about the World of Warcraft lore. And it impressed me the depth of the story, some details never revealed by any game, and some characters until now only known in legends. In my opinion, 2 stories here are a must-read: Lord of the Clans, that is about Thrall, and Of Blood and Honor, which is about Tirion's hard decisions about his beliefs and his honor commitment to Eitrigg, and old Orc warrior. Simply amazing
... read many World of Warcraft books and this didn't disappoint!
I have read many World of Warcraft books and this didn't disappoint!
Nice Anthology
I actually read the first three books individually before I got this anthology. Nevertheless, it is a fine collection of all four stories. These stories are well written and give a good history of the Warcraft world
Great book
Order this for my teen son, he loves these books. He reads all the time instead of watching tv or playing video games, we will keep ordering to keep him reading.
A Warcraft Smorgabord
This was the most exciting collection of Warcraft books since the "War of the Ancients" series. All four books within take place within the same time frame. All of the Authors from Richard Knaak to Christie Golden seem to create the images through words and when you read their stories it feels like you are watching them on the big screen. If you are new to Warcraft then this is the book to read.
Five Stars
love it
Awesome!
Really enriches my game playing by absorbing me in the history of the places and races in the game!
Excellent
I thoroughly enjoyed this archive. It has the jump out of your chair and cheer, then turn around and cry type of adventures that tend to keep me from going to bed when I know I should. I plan to get more.
just great
simply: a great background, but does perfectly on its own as well. well-written, fully engaging.
Amazing book for lore
No fan of the WoW lore can go without this. It's such an amazing combination of WoW books!
Fantastic Value and a superb start into the Warcraft books!
I'm not a big reader but wished to get into reading and i'm a huge fan of Warcraft and World of Warcraft, this book and the War of The Ancients book are a superb way to get started. The main book and my favorite in this archive is the Day of the Dragon book. Very immersive and gripping. You'll recognise many names and places in the books from world of warcraft and some which are sadly not in the game. Examples are for example the main characters in Day of The Dragon, Veerasa and Rhonin can both be found in game in Dalaran. If you wanna read more about the Warcraft books, i highly recommend this one The only thing i dislike in Day of the Dragon is the book switches to different characters sometimes, one moment your following the main protaganists then your reading about whats going on elsewhere, which i found got confusing sometimes
Great insight into the Warcraft Lore, WoW is now twice as fun
Although not all books are written in the same style or quality, I find that the books contained in this volume do an awesome job of introducing someone to the lore of Warcraft. The first fight against Deathwing, a fresh read for most since Cataclysm just touched again on the black dragon's lore, is top quality, written by the writers of the later Dragonlance books. The narrative is perfect, the story is very envolving and perfect. The story of Thrall is told brilliantly but also in a very humane way, making it for a true hero's journey. It goes a bit overboard on his Shaman powers when compared to Shamans in game (anybody seen someone shape a mountain with a foot stomp in WoW?), but it's only natural since he's one of the core characters in the Warcraft universe. Medivh's tower Kharazan is explored in its own volume, and that one is where I take one star out of the entire collection. The story is boring at a lot of times, and overly descriptive at others. I think it might suit some, but not my cup of tea. I honestly stopped reading here and didn't make my way into "Of Blood and Honor", so I won't comment on that one. All in all, a great novel compendium for fantasy lovers. Would definitely recommend this one over any Game of Thrones book.
Fantastic
Great start of a great series. Four novels in one book. OMG! :D. This was the first book I brought, when I got my interest in the Warcraft lore, and boy were they good! Lord of the Clans and Day of the Dragon, where my favorite. This book made me buy another one. I'm in love with the Warcraft lore now..... I'm reading the War of the Ancients archive now, and it is a blast too. Just buy this book. As I said in the start: A great start of a great series. You won't regret it.
... that my son has received for Xmas and is delighted. He has yet to read it
This is a book (one of many in this series of books ) that my son has received for Xmas and is delighted. He has yet to read it.
Unimpressive
The whole thing was rather childish. I found myself rolling my eyes A LOT, which I usually only do when watching stuff like Twilight. I would not describe these stories as things created by wordsmiths. Let's just leave it at that.
Five Stars
Fantastic a must for any fan A+++++
Great for lore lovers, like myself
Amazing books so far, package came in pristine condition and have had no issues. Fantastic for World of Warcraft lore lovers.
Great Book
Well the warcraft lore is so big that it's very interesting to know it. I recomend the books to every WOW player.
Five Stars
Great book!
Awesome book
I have been looking for this book for some while now, and while i though it featured the blizzard history of WoW, they are actually 4 independent books and they are great :)
Loved it
Provided the missing lore that was needed to understand the game better. Very well written and put together. Would recommend
Five Stars
Great quality just as described
Five Stars
Fin kvalitet. Hurtig levering.
Excellent value, a brilliant read!
All the stories are brilliant, you can see my individual reviews of them on each seperate book. This is great value for the 4 books and don't fear the cheap price does not mean cheap quality, the book is of high quality. --- I mainly bought this for the last book 'Of Blood and Honor' (Chris Metzen) as I had already read the others. 'Of Blood and Honor' is an excellent telling of Tirion Fordring's tale and his relationship with a certain orc and the honor that surrounds it. I really empathised with Tirion throughout the book as it deals with his personal struggles and what he knows at heart is right. You learn about: Tirion Fordring, Taelan Fordring, Paladins, Uther the Lightbringer, Thrall, Eitrigg, Stratholme, Hearthglen + more. --- Overall an excellent priced and intersting book!
the Dragon and the Magus
i had no interest to read Day of the Dragon, but i did, and i loved it. the story of how Vereesa Windrunner and Rhonin end up falling in love as a sort of early-on prelude to the events of The War of the Ancients trilogy As well as going over the Orc's enslavement of the Red Dragonflight, that segment of the book even has a guest-star: The Demon Soul. nom-nom. a must read for any warcraft player, and probably enjoyable even to those that dont play. In World of Warcraft's early, Vanilla days, karahzan was a raid that could easily take hours, if not all day, to complete. By even the most advanced players. The Last Guardian is masterfully written, beginning with the young mage Khadgar approaching the timeless Karahzan and whisking you away through the tale of how Medivh becomes the last Guardian of Tirisfal, and how the events that unfold demand a Sacrifice from khadgar himself to save the world. a Star-studded cast to anyone familiar with the lore, appearances are made by Garona- the half-orc half-human assassin, the Warrior-King Llane of Stormwind, The Lion of Azeroth, Anduin Lothar, among the most noteworthy. The Lord of the Clans surely makes even the most brutal Orc seem human, and teaches that humans can be monsters too. the story is drawn around the -even now- Lore-rich orc Thrall's humble and unusual beginnings. Now the Earth-Shaman and avid participant in the Earthen Ring, Thrall was granted the temporary title and powers of The Earth Warder by the 4 Dragon Aspects, to destroy Deathwing, the previous Earth Warder. Once before those events, Thrall was the brilliant Warchief of the New Horde; a collection of races that struggled to survive against the unity of the Alliance; and so came together to form an era of peace. but even before that, he was leader of the Orcs only. The Lord of the Clans explains with masterful wording his rise from a slave -the meaning of the word Thrall- to what he has become now, freeing his enslaved orc brethren and restoring both their honor and will to live.....as well as his own. you feel as though you lurk in a close-by shadow while reading the book, so good is it.
Must have
Got my book in amazing condition, especially given the age. Only a single crease is all
4 stories for the price of 1 !
Or even less than 1 depending on how much you paid for the book. Stories are nice, they give you more info on characters that you may like or learn to dislike. What else can i say... to each their own! I loved the book
