Darth Vader is learning that being a Sith lord and dedicated father to Princess Leia isn't quite so easy...

In this irresistibly funny follow-up to the breakout bestseller Darth Vader and Son, Vader—Sith Lord and leader of the Galactic Empire—now faces the trials, joys, and mood swings of raising his daughter Leia as she grows from a sweet little girl into a rebellious teenager. Smart and funny illustrations by artist Jeffrey Brown give classic Star Wars moments a twist by bringing these iconic family relations together under one roof. From tea parties to teaching Leia how to fly a TIE fighter, regulating the time she spends talking with friends via R2-D2's hologram, and making sure Leia doesn't leave the house wearing only a skirted metal bikini, Vader's parenting skills are put hilariously to the test.
  • Gives kids a unique look into the "real" life of Darth Vader
  • The ideal Star Wars bedtime story book for little Jedi and Sith across the galaxy
  • Hilariously showcases the ins and outs of being a father in the Star Wars universe
If you loved Obi-123, ABC-3PO, and Goodnight, Darth Vader, this is an essential addition to any kid's Star Wars book collection and is perfect for any of the following book categories:
  • Father Daughter Books
  • Baby Star Wars Books
  • Dad Children's Books
  • Darth Vader Books for Kids

Awesome

Daughter under 7 y.o. is a huge Star Wars fan (the REAL ones - original three). Bought this for her birthday and she loved it. Only warning for someone her age is that some of the situations portrayed by Vader-daughter interactions ranged up to teen years (going out dressed provocatively, etc.). Others just over her head because we haven't had them come up. Still several laughs and a good companion to the movies.

Great for young fans!

My 5 year old LOVES this book, Daddy has her hooked on Star Wars and this was just great for her age!

Perfect Gift for the Star Wars Dad

Adorable gift to the Star Wars dad in your life! This calendar is large and has full size pictures for each month, representing Darth Vader and his "Little Princess", Leia. It depicts the struggles fathers face from early childhood through the moody teenage years. This is a great gift for any dad who is a Star Wars fan. :)

One of my child's favorite books. Very creative

One of my child's favorite books. Very creative. But I wish my child to still get surprised after watching the Empire Strikes Back and hearing DV say "Luke... I am your Father"... ! LOL

Vader seen in a new light.

This book is funny. I got this as a father's day present and I could totally relate to most of the content of this book. It is nicely illustrated and very entertaining. If you wonder what it would be like if Vader raised his kids, get this book! awesome present for fathers, daughters, star wars fans, and well, everyone else.

She really loved the book

I bought this for a pregnant friend who loves Star Wars. She really loved the book!

Sweet, fun book for any Star Wars fan

My whole family is Star Wars fans so when I found this I thought it would be perfect for my daughter to give her father. I was right, they are both in love with the book. The writing is simple but is a relatable modern take on a movie classic. This is great for all ages. We are looking forward to getting the whole collection.

I bought this for my dad forfather's day as a cute little addition to some other star wars merch I had also purchased. It was really cute and he liked it a lot (but it is a children's cartoon illustrated book, so if you're looking for an actual read this is not what you're looking for). A great gift for children or adults, male, female, or otherwise :D

Introduce Girls to Star Wars Early

I bought this for a new dad who I work with. He's a big Star Wars fan and just had a daughter. He loved it! I have also bought this for others in the past and it's always a big hit.

Fathers day gift

Bought this for my star wars fan husband for fathers day as a gift from our daughter (also bought the Star Wars: Darth Vader and Son (Star Wars (Chronicle)) for my husband as a gift from our son) He really liked them both and hinted that he would like them. You know it is a good gift when I caught him reading these books in bed before going to sleep!!!!!!

Star Wars fan & have a daughter=buy this book

I started reading this book as I was walking out the door for work. I found I could not put it down. Such cleverness used on each page to pull the experience of raising a daughter combined with all the fun of Star Wars fanboy geekiness. I love it. Plus the book physically is of high quality. The cover art is embossed and is really beautiful.

Great book for Star Wars fan and his little girl

See review on Star Wars Epiosde 4.

Not Appropriate

We loved the son edition to this series, but this is not kid friendly at all. Most of the book is about boyfriends, kissing and overall rude behavior from a sassy teenager.

Good for kids and kids at heart

Love these books. My kids enjoy the humor too

Good book

Funny and my kids love it

My 4 year old loves it.

This was a great book and my daughter frequently asks me to read it to her. I haven't shown her the movies yet, but I'm sure that she will be a fan after seeing her attachment to this book.

Adorable Book

This is an adorable book and great to give a geeky dad for fathers day. The concepts in the book are definitely for adults, but it isn't so bad that kids can't look at it too. I had my daughter give this to my husband for fathers day this year with a "galaxy's best father" bobble head and vader polo. He loved it all, and him and my daughter sit down and read this book together.

Yes

Cute book!

Fun book to own if a fan of the series and have a daughter

I love this cute book!!! I have a 2 year old right now so it is a little above her level, but she likes the illustrations and I feel Vader's pain when dealing with his daughter. I don't look forward to some of dealings I know I will have iwth my daughter, but at least in this book it makes light of some of these issues such as wardrobe choices.

fathers day gift for dad

I bought this gift for my husband. He loves star wars and thought he would enjoy the little princess aspect as he has his own little princess. He really loved the book and thought it great. My husband is one of those that is very difficult to buy for as he has everything he really needs. This was one of those unusual gifts that he opened and started reading immediately and seemed to enjoy every page

It's a lovely little series of pictures

Illustrations are great and the book is really lovely, but the story inside isn't connected, as you would expect. It's more like time lapse of a little princess in comic format.

Love this book!

Oh my, this is just adorable. I bought it for a surprise gift for my daughter when we go to Disney World. She loves comics (especially Calvin & Hobbs) and since we are big Star Wars fans, I know she will get a huge kick out of this. Sweet and funny cartoons with Princess Leia interacting with Darth Vader as her father in cute situations. Way cheaper to buy it here than on the Disney site and with Amazon Prime you get free shipping!

These books have been fun to read with my son and daughter

These books have been fun to read with my son and daughter. My son and I have been reading the Vadar and Son before bed here and there for years. It is great to have one to share with my new little girl. We are big fans of the movies and they love the characters. I have purchased these as gifts for new parents that enjoy start wars and they love them! Can't go wrong with these books.

just makes a good present for the novelty

Repeat gags, no real wit, just makes a good present for the novelty.

So cute !

What if our beloved Lord Vader was the responsible to raise Leia ? Would she become a rebel eventually ? Star Wars fans must have this one ! The cover shows Leia still a little child but inside you will find a teenager Leia making Vader wondering what is more hard to accomplish : defeat the rebels or tame his little cute girl ... Star Wars fans ...buy this book !

This is not a kid book. it's more meant for a father to enjoy. yes it can be "read" to a little one. but it's seriously more of a adorable nostalgic piece meant to give a nerdy father all the feels. <3

Star Wars for the youngest Fans!!

As a Star Wars obsessed family, this book and it's boy counterpart were great ways to introduce our little Star Wars fans to many of the characters in the Star Wars Universe!! Can't get enough of these books, and will continue to buy any books put out by this series!!

Not a fan

I'm a mom of all girls, so I was thrilled about this book. My husband and girls are Star Wars fans so I thought they would love this book, but it was kind of lame. It's full of girl stereotypes and jokes that I didn't find very funny. I read the reviews and was expecting a lot more considering how many people gave it 5 stars. This books just wasn't for us.

What's not to love?

This is a fun turn of events for Darth Vader. My husband was really happy to receive this for Father's Day. He's a Star Wars fan and wants to have our daughter follow in his footsteps. The book itself was sturdier than I thought it would be for the price. It even has raised artwork on the cover. The pages are nicely illustrated and it's just long enough. I'd recommend for anyone wanting a light comic-type read that merges today's concepts with those from the movie.

It's one of her favorite books that she wants me to read to her ...

My daughter is 4 and loves this book. It's one of her favorite books that she wants me to read to her for a bedtime story. The only problem is there is really no story or plot and its just a bunch of references of Vader and Leia acting as a normal dysfunctional family, and that can cause you to resent reading this book after one time because it is kind of boring.

Not as good as "Vader and Son" but still hilarious

I bought this and "Vader and Son" for my daughters to give to my husband - a Star Wars fanatic. He definitely got a big kick out of them. The Vader and Son book is our favorite - it's just plain hilarious. Vader's Little Princess has some funny moments, but not as through and through hilarious to us as the first one.

Good Read!

Great book. Nice parody. Still a good read for my adult son and his two elementary school-aged children. Each read this as soon as it was unwrapped, passed it to the next in line, and said how much they thoroughly enjoyed it.

Five Stars

My kids don't get all the references, but I do.

Cute books

Huge Star Wars and love these books. Bought this for my niece who is 7 months old. Need to start them early on Star Wars!

The best of his books.

The best of his books. Very funny. Enjoyable reading.

Great book for a Star Wars fan

Our 10 year old daughter loves this book her daddy bought for her.

Too Cute!

Any Star Wars fan with kids will appreciate the humor in this book. You might even appreciate it if you don't have kid. Leia making Vader have a tea party or bringing Han Solo home for dinner are just some of the scenes depicted in this story book. It was a great Father's Day gift from my girls to my husband.

So cute!

This book is awesome, great illustrations, cute stories that are humorous within the context of the starwars story. My husband LOVES reading this with our girls... definitely a great product and I recommend this absolutely. I like it so much, that i'll be looking for more comics and illustrations done by Jeffrey Brown based on how much I like this book.

Adorable book.

I got this for my niece, and though this book is obviously not canon, I love how Brown wove a story as if Leia and Vader actually had a normal relationship. This story uses humor, wit, and charm and I feel sure that loves of Star Wars will love this book as well.

Huge fas of this author

We have purchased all of Jeffrey's books now. My children love his sense of humor. The pictures are funny too and add another level of humor for adults. It's great.

Great book!

What a fun book! A Father’s Day gift from my kids. We laughed together reading it!

It was a Dad's Day gift.

I purchased this book and Darth Vader and Son for our grandkids to give to their Dad for Father's Day. Our grandson wrote inside the cover: Dad, I'm glad you are you and not Darth Vader. The illustrations are a delight, and poor Darth Vader looks at wits end sometimes on how to handle children. Very clever books.

Five Stars

My grandkids love this book! (And so do the Star Wars loving grandparents and parents!)

Vader as a dad, cute funny and strangely heart warming for a Star Wars fan and parent

Very cute little idea of Vader dealing with all the trials and troubles of a parent of young kids. As a parent, it is easy to look at the little shots and see the heart under the joke. A very clever reimagining that I only wish was longer.

Purchased for my brother who is a new father to ...

Purchased for my brother who is a new father to a baby girl and a Star Wars fan. Received very well by the family. The book is comical as you can see how it relates to real life situation - and with Darth Vader as the father!

Five Stars

Perfect shower gift for any star wars lover having a baby girl.

Five Stars

Adorable book for parents who are fans of Star Wars.

she does like the pictures (she is almost 3)

this is a really cute cartoon book of how Vader might interact with Leia if they had known each other using common stereotypes about father-daughter relationships. I got it for my daughter to give to her dad for father's day. Although she isn't really interested in the story, she does like the pictures (she is almost 3).

Hilarious!

I got the "Vader and Son" when it came out and my kids love to climb in bed and read it with Daddy. Pre-ordered this one, and had to put it out of the kids' reach until Daddy got home so he could have it ;) This one follows Lei through her teen years, and includes Luke in some scenes, so a bit different from the Son version, but still a favorite at our house

Cute

Bought this for the husbands birthday to be a present from our daughter. Each page is a short comic/scene and goes from when Leia is little to when she gets older. It is very cute and hopefully my husband will like it (and share it with our 6 year old daughter).

Vader's little princess and Darth Vader and son both a hit.

This book, and Darth Vader and son are just fantastically funny books to own. The only reason this one got four stars is that I liked Darth Vader and son better. I think since Luke and Vader interacted more in the movie there was more available for humor. This one seemed to be trying just a bit too hard, although some of the comics were just side splitting funny

Cute comics. Not really a bedtime story book

Cute comics and cute illustrations. I purchased this as a bedtime story for my daughter because I loved Star Wars and loved the concept. Not really a child's bedtime story. Nothing offensive in the comics, just over the heads of little ones.

Great Father's Day gift

I bought this book for my husband, as he had the one that was titled Darth Vader and son, as a Father's Day gift. It's exactly as described in the description, it's a really nice book and I recommend this product

Cutest book ever for your girly Star Wars fans

My 3 year old daughter is obsessed with Darth Vader. She thinks he is a good guy and is totally cool. She has his light saber and this book just reminded me of her. The jokes are really cute and silly. Follows the princess as a baby through teenage years onto adulthood with Vader as your normal Dad. Very cute. A little old for my kid of course but more for me.

Very cute book. Helped my daughter overcome her fear ...

Very cute book. Helped my daughter overcome her fear the dark side. Now with the help of this book, she walks around singing "ba ba ba - bababa" whenever she sees a picture of Darth Vader.

Great writing, hilarious book! Laughed throughout the whole book!

Bought this as a baby shower gift for my brother future little girl. My brother loves Star Wars and it was difficult finding something relating to Star Wars that was for little girls! He loved it and laughed throughout the book!

Perfect

This was perfect! Was looking for something to give my husband for our new arrival that is coming and this was great. He is a big star wars fan so the humor was spot on for him. I loved the illustrations and set up for this book. Great idea!

We love it

This is super cute It’s a comic style book with no real story Just the accurate struggles of being a girl dad

Fun fun fun

Wonderful little book with cute illustrations and funny little stories in each picture. There is not a story throughout the book except for Darth Vader not being able to control his little daughter as she plays around a galaxy far, far away... Young and old - all will love this funny little book.

Wonderful concept

This is very much like the Darth Vader and Son book. Same artwork and witty humor. This book centers around Princess Lea from a young girl through her teen years, not just as a little girl. Very cute for any parent that is also a star wars fan. If you aren't a Star Wars fan you probably won't get a lot of it though since other character like Han Solo are represented during the "dating" phase :) If you need to get a happy present for someone, a gift under a price limit, someone who's kids are going off to college!!!!! or have a new parent in your life, this is a GREAT gift to have them laughing at and remembering the little things they went through while raising their daughter. Grab the Son book for boys. Highly recommended. The artwork fits perfectly with the tone of the book also.

Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away....

Got it for my granddaughter for Christmas, but the whole family (Mom, Dad, Grandma and Grandpa) all enjoyed reading it first, LOL. My granddaughter's a big Darth Vader fan (she had a Vader plushie as a baby, and has been nuts for him ever since. She even *purposely* loses Angry Birds Star Wars just so she can see Darth Vader at the end, LOL! So many ref's from the movies that parents/grandparents will recognize, but funny pics and story for the little ones to enjoy too. We *all* love the whole Vader kids' books series! :-)

They love the little short strips

I bought this book and one other in the series for my son and daughter for Christmas. They love the little short strips, and the illustrations are wonderful. My son is 4, and my daughter is 2, so I think they will continue to get a lot of enjoyment out of these for many years to come. I sure will! There's a lot of tongue-in-cheek humor, and it's very punny!

Great first Father's Day present!

I ordered this for my husband for his first Father's Day after our daughter was born. He loved it and although it's more comic book than story our daughter loves holding it while Daddy reads each page (They've done this a few times now). Other people that have come by the house and have seen it laying around have also enjoyed it's humor although I was horrified to find out that one of my friend's has never seen Star Wars. Even so, she knew of the characters somewhat and was also able to enjoy the sentiments behind each scene. All in all, this is a great little gift to give to a father that also enjoys Star Wars whether a new dad or a seasoned veteran to raising girls.

Perfect Father’s Day gift!

Such a cute little book. Got this for my husband for Father’s Day. He loved it! The book fits in with the other Vader books and. The amount of detail and illustration makes this book adorable and a must have!

Just as cute as intended

My husband has been telling our toddler daughter Star Wars over the past year (she is too young to view) and she LOVES the story which pleases her father immensely. For the holidays my sister-in-law gave her brother "Darth Vader and Son". The book immediately found its place on my daughter's bookshelf. When I found the Leia book I knew it would be a huge hit with my daughter. She is truly a princess loving daughter who is also into dinosaurs and anything gross! As a father's day gift, my daughter was SO happy to give this to her dad, but of course it resides with its companion in her bookcase. Maybe not as clever as the first, but still well done and the illustrations are very good. We like the books equally. Good use of movie lines.

Coolest book!!

I love this book. It's funny and if you like Star Wars, than you will love it too. Jeffrey Brown really captures the relationship between a father and his daughter, but at the same time, it ties in with the Star Wars movies. It is a graphic novel, making it a quick and enjoyable experience. This book really brightens you up and slaps a crazy smile on your face. I hope future kids like this book. If you have already read this book and #loved it , than you should try Darth Vader and Son, also a Star Wars book by Jeffery Brown. Thanks for reading my comment!!

Super cute idea for a book

Is cute but maybe a little long for a baby. She's 10 months and it doesn't hold her attention for very long . Super cute idea for a book. Also great artwork! I liked the "Goodnight Darth Vader" more though!

Surprise!

Don't let the headline fool you, I was not paying attention and that's on me (I was distracted while looking into desk calenders), but it was a wonderful surprise. I actually can't wait to read it!

Buy this. Now.

If you have a daughter, or are a daughter, or know someone who is someone else's daughter, you want this book. Nay, you need this book. It's adorable. Seriously, it is so cute. The scene with Luke and Leia splashing in the pool and Vader saying "don't splash the cape" is incredible. But the best? When she knits something for him and he has to pretend that he loves it. I love this book. And I'm not pretending.

Super cute book

Bought this for my husband for his first Father’s Day. Our daughter was just 2 weeks old. He’s a huge Star Wars fan. He loved it.

Love the artwork but...

This is a nice little book. It can be funny for some and not for others as the jokes can be pretty stereotypical, though not always a bad thing. I actually did get some good chuckles out of it. There's really nothing much that I can say about this book other than I absolutely love the artwork by Jeffrey Brown. Just don't expect this book to contain something mind blowing or profound. Just enjoy it for what it is, the enjoyment of simplicity it provides. Also, perhaps it would be much better to have a physical copy rather than the kindle ebook version.

Not a children's book

The book is quite nice and funny... But it is not a children's book. There is no story line just comic strips. It is a book for geek parents who somehow managed to reproduce.

Not as good as "Vader and Son"

We ordered this book because we LOVED "Vader and Son". "Vader's Little Princess" is cute, but it feels less authentic and less original. I'm sure this is in part because it's a sequel, but Leia just feels very one-dimensional to me - as if the author is relying too heavily on stereotypes about daughters.

Very funny!

Hilarious! I bought these for my husband as a stocking-stuffer; we have a preteen daughter and a toddler boy, these are so appropriate and make us laugh about our reality! Definitely recommend for a little light-hearted and funny reading. Well done!

adorable, but not really intended for kids

Overall, adorable, but not really intended for kids. The book is filled with cute comic type stories with inside jokes for Star Wars fans, so it kinda goes over their heads. I also personally didn't want to explain to my toddler that Darth Vader was upset that Leia was kissing a boy or wearing skimpy clothing. :) But very cute for all those Star Wars dads out there!

Fun for parents, not toddlers

Using familiar lines from the Star Wars saga as dialogue for his illustrations, Jeffrey Brown has created a new backstory for Darth Vader and family. In this volume, DV learns to deal--or not deal--with his headstrong little girl as she grows from babyhood to teen queen. The daddy-daughter situations are stereotypical, but hilarious nevertheless. Although it's a board book, it's meant to entertain parents rather than toddlers.

My Review

In this tale, we visit upon one author's thoughts of what it might have been like if Darth Vader had raised Princess Leia. The story is told primarily in pictures through the teen years. The pictures are very detailed and enhance and/or explain the limited text . Both create a humorous and fun narrative for multiple ages. There are multiple references to the Star Wars movies, as well as, as co-starring role from Luke. Overall, a fun read.

so awesome!!

I bought this for my nerd of a husband/baby daddy!! We're having a girl in a few weeks and I thought he would love this!!! and he DID!! I meant to give it to him for fatehr's day, but after I read it... I couldnt wait to give it to him!! The book goes from toddler to teen Princess Leia and Darth Vader dad and the various situations a dad may go through with his little girl. The book ties in the movie with the book a little, its just really cool. We dont have a little boy yet but I want to buy the other one now!!!!!

Good clean Star Wars fun, for all ages...

I loved reading this to my daughter, the humor is for adults but the irony hits home as well. An instant classic for Star Wards fans to read to their young children.

Be prepared to laugh a lot!

This book is just great! I bought this for my son and daughter-inlaw since they are Star Wars crazy, after they had my little granddaughter. They loved it! Now, if they have a little boy some day, I will have to get 'Darth Vader and Son' !

The Force is Funny with This One!

Very funny book. Great for Star Wars and Vader fans

great series

Vader in the parent role is totally awesome. my brother is a big star wars fan and he loves all the Vader books i get him - cuz it's kinda more for the parent than the child. although my niece does request it too. as an uncle who loves to read to his sobrinos, i recommend books like these where you can get into it - books that excite you - cuz the little ones feed off of your excitement. i hope to see more in this series!

Love

Loved it, my kids had this as young children. Bought for fellow SWs fans they read it to their baby every night.

Even Dark Lords need help with their kids....

This is a hilarious look at parenting a young girl told through the lens of the Star Wars saga. In this set of cartoons, Darth Vader experiences many of the headaches the parents of a girl will go through, from awkward "tea parties" to non-approvable boyfriends. This book has the advantage of being able to make in-jokes that EVERYBODY gets....

Father loved it

Baby shower gift

great find

Arrived faster than if we were to purchase from other vendor. great book for anyone especially Star Wars fans

i was hoping this would be more of a children's ...

i was hoping this would be more of a children's story than a glorified comic book but it was ok. it is still a great book to have in our collection with my husband being a huge star wars fan and trying to brainwash our daughter into being a big fan as well.

cute, silly, sweet fun for the star wars fan

if dad's a star wars fan, he'll enjoy this book. if his daughter is a star wars fan, then this is hilariously magical. sure, a lot of the examples are "stereotypical girl" things, but it's really entertainingly written and illustrated. it's a fun read and underscores some prototypical dad fears (daughters dating the wrong guys and threatening them), some of a little girl's being little and sweet and mischievous, as well as her eventually growing up and being a rebel (quite literally in this context).

This book was not near as funny as the boy version and it's one of those ...

This book was not near as funny as the boy version and it's one of those books that you really only read once. It made a cute Father's Day gift from my little girls but if I was at a book store and able to read it in person first, I would have recommended something else maybe.

Vader's growing pains with the kids he never knew

Very enjoyable book. I grew up a star wars fan and couldn't pass it up. Some of my favorite pages have little inside jokes that only a true star wars fan would understand, but the book is relatable to anyone with a kid. I may buy a second book to cut out some pages to frame and put on the wall in my daughter's room.

Great for Dads who are Star Wars fans

Bought this for my husband for Father's Day so that our toddler could give it to him (with a homemade card, of course). This book is clever, witty, and sweet. It will make you laugh, sigh, roll your eyes, and maybe wipe a tear! Jeffrey Brown really knows his Star Wars. And he did an incredible job with the drawings - fun and simple (in a poignant way) but not childish. I'd recommend this for Dads who have girls.

Adorable book, highly recommended

We purchased this book for my brother-in-law, who's about to have his first daughter and is a huge Star Wars fan. We loaded him up with Star Wars baby stuff for his son, so it seemed only right to get started on the same path for his little girl. I read the whole book before wrapping it for Christmas and thought it was adorable. Well worth the price. A perfect gift for the Star Wars–loving parent in your life!

Great little book

Love to read this book to my daughter.

Vader's Little Princess

This is a sweet book with charming pictures of Darth Vader raising his little princess. And, it's not easy for the Dark Lord of Sith to get his teenage daughter to do as he want. Still I prefer Darth Vader and Son to this book. This book was not funny in the same way as the previous book was.

Cute book

This is a cute and funny book. I wish it was a little longer.

Not really for kids.

I am not sure but Princess Leia is a bit of a brat in this book. I thought that it would be a cool little book for my daughter to have read to her when she gets a little older, but the way Leia acts in the book, I would not want that. So I wish I would have read a hard copy first before getting the kindle version.

Very clever drawings!

I bought this as a Father's Day gift for my significant other. We were both in the Star Wars generation in the 1970's, so the book has meaning and memories for us. This, along with nice Bose speakers, made a memorable Father's Day for him.

Perfect Father's Day present for Star Wars fans

This is a great book for Star Wars fans. It would be a great present for Father's Day! However, you need to have a bit of Star Wars knowledge to fully enjoy it. It very loosely follows the Star Wars history from A New Hope to Return of the Jedi. However, it mainly focus on the relationship of Darth Vader and Leia as father and daughter. It is a very funny book for a couple of chuckles. Highly recommended for Star Wars fans.

I love to gift this book and the boy's version for ...

I love to gift this book and the boy's version for new parents who also are a little geeky. It's also really fun for anyone else (who might not be a parent) to appreciate. It's a book full of small comics. Each comic is one page, and generally just depicts one picture/scene that any Star Wars fan can appreciate.

Good Star Wars book for girls

My little princess loves Star Wars so this book was a perfect gift for her. She enjoys reading it as well as me reading it to her. She just turned 6 and we enjoy Star Wars together much to the dismay of my wife. :P

Do yourself a favor

Plain and simple if you have a daughter and are a star wars fan then you need to do yourself a favor and get this book. It read very easily and my daughter even wanted to take over and start reading herself. I love it and I will be reading it to my youngest daughter as well as she grows up.

maybe she will like it more later

This book is written for adults. It's wordy and really plays on nostalgic moments. My daughter didn't care about the book at all, but she is only 5 months. So, maybe she will like it more later.

Loved it.

So happy I bought this. It was a gift from my daughter to her dad on his first Father's Day. It is a cute book and fun to read for both your child and the parent. If u are a Star Wars fan or if you are just looking for a book that isn't your typical children's book; this is for you.

This is a very cute thing

Dunno when I got it, but it was waiting for in my kindle library one morning and I'm glad I decided to flip its' digital pages

Adorable and very funny

I got this book for my brother, since he's the father of 2 little girls. But I HAD to read it myself first, and it is funny and true all at once. We laughed a lot together about the points in brought up. He teased me a lot when we were growing up - with fake spiders and sneaking out of closets to scare me. I tell him what he has to look forward to, as his girls grow up, are the work of a Devine Being, avenging the tortures he put me through and continues to now :-)

Great for Star Wars fans

I actually got this for my husband who is a huge star wars fan and our newborn daughter. While it's a cute book....it'll hopefully be more appropriate as the kids get bigger. I think it's difficult for them, 7 months & 2, because there's no story line. Just different pictures with limited words.

Perfect!

I got this for my 6 year old sons for Christmas. They are huge Starwars fans and thought this book was HILLARIOUS. They have read it over and over. Some of the humor was over their heads, but they still laugh their booties off when they read it. The illustrations are really cute.

Loved It!

Love this book! I imagine others by the author are just as great. My husband thought it was an excellent Father's Day gift!

Unusual Father, Daughter

Such a different parent child relationship than the traditional Darth Vader and Princess Leia. I love this version as much as the movies.

A Whimsical Delight

This is the perfect gift for a Star Wars (SW) lover and his daughter. It's cute with references that the father will get but the child will enjoy. I found this book while browsing through amazon, but I originally saw the author's work through Reddit. The author is active in the community and his comics have always had that slightly sarcastic and playful tone that I think all ages can enjoy. While the book is clearly not representative of the true father-daughter relationship these two had, there are plenty of humanizing moments that really make you connect to the characters in the book, and might even teach a valuable lesson in parenting (or two). If you or someone you know is really into SW (and especially if they have a daughter), I'd recommend this book. It's really lighthearted and fun for anyone and everyone familiar with the series.

Great Little Book!

I ordered this as a dad baby shower gift for a guy who is having a baby girl. I wanted a children's book about a girl that a dad could relate to. He is a huge Star Wars fan, so I thought this would be perfect and it is! It is funny, clever, and I'm pretty sure my own dad said a few of things in this book to me when I was a girl. Heck, I think he's probably said a few of the things to me in the past few days and I'm an adult now. This is a great gift for first time dads.

Father-Daughter Humor with Star Wars infusion

It is not really a kids book. It is a Star Wars humor comic that is best for Star Wars fans, who are parents of girls. It has some funny uses of well known Star Wars movie quotes, repurposed for daughter-parent humor. The situations are very stereotypical and has been infused into the Star Wars mythos, which helps it from being completely "been there heard that" ( e.g. daughter wearing inappropriate clothes, father being embarrassing, father-boyfriend dynamics, daughter on the phone a lot etc). I would not pay a lot for this book but I got it for $2 on sale as an ebook and that price seems fair.

I have a little girl and this would have been perfect except there is a large section of the book ...

This was very very close to a 5 for me, the only problem is the other books have a "bed time to a toddler" feel to them, I have a little girl and this would have been perfect except there is a large section of the book where the princess is a teenager. While I am sure I will deal with these themes soon enough, it seems a little arkward to explain them to a 3 year old, maybe if it was a smaller section of the book...or if the cover was a little less misleading.

Little Princess gift to Daddy

My daughter wanted this book for her dad because he is a Star Wars fan and he already owned "Darth Vader and Son". She doesn't like Star Wars but likes this book because she is a little princess too. "Darth Vader and Son" is based on 4 year old Luke while "Vader's little princess" has more humor based on teenage Leia's relationship to her dad. I would have liked more little girl and daddy humor but I guess Jeffrey Brown did not want to repeat everything he had already done in the Vader and son book.

My Daughter Loves this Book. Turned her to the ways of the FORCE

My youngest daughter hadn't really paid any attention the Star Wars Trilogy like her older Sister and Brother. We bought the Boy's version of this book and she loved it. Naturally, we bought this book for her thinking should would like it as well. Having not watched all of the Star Wars movies, I was worried she wouldn't get all of the puns. After a week or two reading this book to her before bed, she found herself glued to the screen when we all watch Star Wars again. Go figure, she kept relating the movie to her book. For me that's totally absurd! But it's Great! Brilliant idea writing a book for kids making Darth Vader look like a decent guy. Takes the Fear out of his character to help kids adapt to the movies. Genius! Thanks Jeff!!!

Perfect

My husband is not a book reader, like, at all. So I thought he'd get this and say, "Aw cute" and set it aside. Nope, he gushed over it and opened it up right there and then and read each and every page. I could genuinely tell he's looking forward to this being his book to read to our daughter. The drawings are great and we both appreciated the humor. Now I just have to pop this one out and see if we can make a boy so that we can buy the matching book!

Star Wars fans!! You must own this book! Whether you have children or not, the series is amazing!

This book is absolute genius!! Whether you're a Star Wars lover or not, you and your kids will adore this book! I originally ordered it because I'm such a huge Star Wars fan, and knew nothing of the book, but thought the illustrations were cute and my kids like Star Wars too. When it arrived (very quickly, thanks Amazon!) I read it before I read it to my kids. I was laughing so hard at the little references from the Empire Strikes Back...if you know the movies you will DIE laughing...I went back and read it again, and reread it to keep finding little things in the illustrations that killed me! The story is so cute, my kids love it, but I think it love it more! Jeffrey Brown is a brilliant author..

Adorable daddy Darth!

Hilarious "what if" book on what Darth Vader would have been like raising his kids. The series is funny and touches upon a lot of the things parents experience raising children such as defying bedtime, teenagers wearing inappropriate clothing or texting, etc. This would be a fun gift for adult Star Wars fans. Not sure if it would be appropriate with little kids as some of the humor is more appropriate for older kids (like 10 and up). Some of the pages show Leia dating Han Solo or wearing her slave outfit, which some parents might object to small children looking at. No nudity or profanity or anything like that at all. Generally good fun!

Great book for any STAR WARS fan, whether you have kids or not.

I met Jeffery Brown at Celebration VI in Orlando in 2012 and he was signing any copies of his then new book "Vader & son" Had not planned to get the book since I have no children,, but did so since I could meet the author and get it personalized. Enjoyed that book ... you can read it in about ten minutes, but the illustrations are great so I took my time. When I heard he was doing another book, I was not in a rush to have it as soon as it came out, but I stuck it on my watch list and I grabbed it. when price came down to around $8. Good value, another good book by Brown. Heard on a podcast he has other books planned, so I will probably check those out when they come out too. Only reason not to give to kids is if they DO NOT KNOW THE BIG REVEAL from end of Empire Strikes Back and you want to keep them spoiler free, but otherwise I would get this for my nieces and nephews and little cousins.

Cute and funny

Naturally the author had to follow up "Darth Vader and Son" with a book about Vader raising his "little princess." It's of course funny, with lots of in-jokes that you probably won't get unless you're a SW fan. Nothing raunchy -- even the pic of a defiant teenage Leia wearing the infamous gold bikini (Daddy Vader says to her, "You are NOT going out wearing that outfit!") is drawn in a PG-rated way. Definitely a good gift for a male SW fan who has a daughter, or is about to have one.

Cute book, especially as a gift for a post-70's dad

This is a cute book. I got it for Father's Day when our daughter was ~15 months. Heads up, though: this book is not *for* children. Not that it's inappropriate--but there's not a story as each page is a one-shot funny vignette. Also, little ones won't get most of what is going on in the pictures, I don't think, especially not when it's a straight reference/pun from Star Wars. That being said, my daughter LOVES this book. So, I just have to make up what is going on in the pictures, which isn't so bad, but it's also pretty long as far as a kids' book goes. So after you've read like 7 books to try and get a l.o. to go to bed and she busts this out which is both long and requires you to *think,* you begin to second-guess adding this to the kid shelf. :-)

Good for Adults

Very cute and high quality board pages. Bought it for my friend having his first baby, I think it's a great preview of some challenges to come...More about tween/teenage years than baby years though. Not necessarily something your 0-5 year will sit through during story time (more of a comic book style without an ongoing story line). However, unbeatable for your adult Star Wars fan! (Mom, dad, or otherwise!)

For Star Wars Dads With Daughters

I read through a copy of 'Vader's Little Princess' and had to buy a copy for my 11 year old daughter for Valentines Day. We just saw the new Star Wars movie together, and I think she will get some of the references, if not all of them. As an old-school Star Wars fan and father of a "princess" daughter, I was enamored by Brown's book. Each page is contained in and of itself, so there are lot of little tidbits for Fans, Dads, and Daughters a like. The illustrations are cute and well done. I'm not sure if she'll enjoy the book as much as I have, but I know it is something we have to have in our library. MTFBWY. ~ Kort

Father and daughter

Funny through and through. A girl and her misadventures with her father. Does he have her best interests at heart? Or is he too authoritarian? The pictures show a what-if scenario if Darth Vader had been a better (or more interesting) father for a rebellious little miss. Teenagers, anyone? You'll be laughing the way I did. And this is just one of many of Jeffrey Brown's many funny books. Get it!

Pretty cute and clever

I actually bought this for my 8 year old daughter, who is obsessed with Star Wars. Upon receiving the book, it wasn't exactly as I expected it to be. I thought it was going to be more of a kids' book with an actual story...which would have been SO cute! But instead, it seems more geared towards maybe 12+ perhaps (no crude humor at all, just some jokes in it that my 8 year old didn't exactly understand. Not a big deal)...and it was pages filled with full-page pictures with humorous images and word bubbles. Still, even though the book wasn't exactly as I assumed it would be (even after virtually flipping through a couple pages here on Amazon), it's a really cute book with clever and amusing humor, and fantastic artwork/illustrations to capture the sweet bonding moments between Vader and Leia. awww! The book itself is beautifully binded and packaged, it cannot be easily destructed (even by Vader. Well, maybe by Vader...). Very sturdy and not at all cheap-feeling. Well worth the money spent!

Fun take on Vader raising a little girl

My almost 2-year old daughter really enjoys having this book read to her. Unlike

Super cute

Great series! We have four books. This one has a little bit of jokes related to teenagers, whereas the Vader & Son book has jokes more pertaining to the behavior of toddlers. No big deal; just an observation. I think this book is really cute, but they all are. The calendar is great too.

... was his take on what a daughter would be like and I agree

I read review from someone saying since the author didn't have a daughter it was his take on what a daughter would be like and I agree. It's a cute book but not realistic. Also not a kids book. Maybe a teen. My 6yo didn't grasp a lot of it. Dating... Stealing his ship (car)

Great gender announcement for my husband

I found out we were having a girl and immediately ordered for next day shipping to tell my husband. Great little book. Definitely more adult oriented than I anticipated. I thought it was going to be a children's book, but it's more of a comic relief book for parents. Looking forward to picking up more of the series.

Juggling ruling the galaxy with an iron fist and raising a sweet, spunky teenager

Super cute and funny comics of Darth Vader raising Leia (and Luke!). Illustrations are simple but catchy and adorable. Practice your Darth Vader voice, because he has a lot of speech bubbles and your little ones will love it.

These are really fun books! My daughter hasn't watched Star Wars yet and she still is a little too young, but it's a great way to introduce her to the characters. I think the books are creative and funny, and my daughter likes them.

Lot's of fun

This book is a lot of fun, and as with "Darth Vader and Son", there are a lot of "in" jokes and references that an avid Star Wars fan will notice, while the actual comics themselves are entertaining enough for kids and adults to appreciate. My 9 and 14 year old daughters both found a lot to enjoy, as did my 16 year old son. Highly recommended!

Buy it, read it, laugh along. Take it from me.... I AM A FATHER.

I bought two. One for my daughter and one for my sister, who has no children of her own, but loves star wars. I suspect the latter will never appreciate this as much as my. I read and re-read this when it arrived, laughing with tears in my eyes.

Hilarious books

Definitely for the star wars fan who grew up and had a daughter. There also one for Vader and his son Luke. Its definitely for adults, not in terms of inappropriate content or anything. If you haven't seen and probably loved the original movies, you won't get the references. A fun birthday or father's day gift for sure.

Perfect gift

My granddaughter is Darth Vader's Little Princess. She was not feeling well the day it arrived so I gave it to her immediately. She spent the night reading it to her Daddy (Darth Vader) and then to her big brother and the dog and the cat and Mommy and big sister. It should be memorized by now. Big Sister loved the dating part.

Perfect Gift for and Geek Dads Out There

My husband and I both grew up loving Star Wars and are somewhat geeky....this made an incredible gift to him 'from' our newborn daughter. He was so happy and grinning ear-to-ear as he read it to her. The one with Luke and Vader is awesome, too!

Great for SW parents

So cute. My husband and I loved this...probably more than our daughter did. We laughed really hard reading it, it's more an art book with jokes for parents who are Star Wars fans, there's not really a story for kids to follow.

cute

Star wars nerd? Father's day? It was great, I got this for my husband on Father's day and he flipped. He had seen it in the store and is so happy with it. It's a cute little book

Cute book

Cute book to look through but makes no sense when you try to read it to your child. Definitely entertaining for adults.

We love the illustrations and it’s definitely a fun book to ...

I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old daughter. We love the illustrations and it’s definitely a fun book to look at. Each page is a different illustration with a caption, so it is not a story book that you just sit down and read for a bedtime story.

Adorable gift from daughter to daddy.

I purchased this book for my daughter to give to my husband. My son had previously given him Darth Vader and Son, which they have read over and over. Vader's Little Princess is an excellent follow up to the previous and we were not disappointed. My husband is a huge Star Wars fan and also enjoys comic illustration. He loves the art in these books and he loves sharing the laughs with his children.

Clever and Funny

I picked up Vader's Little Princess and started reading through the cute comic strip style stories. It was laugh out loud funny, clever and cute. It is so fun to imagine if Leia had actually been raised by Darth Vader. The drawings are cute and the humor is clever. My daughter loves this book. It would make a great gift for a father or a daughter or any Star Wars fan.

Huge hit with dad, daughter and me!

If your family are Star Wars fans, and you have daughters, you should get this! We bought both this one and the one with Vader & Son (Luke), gave them to my husband for Father's Day from each our daughter & son, and they have laughed a lot reading them. We keep them on an end table in our living room now, and many visitors have picked them up too. Very cute & funny. You will not get the humor at all if you're not a Star Wars fan however.

Daughter loves it!

This is a good book because it introduces adult humor into a children's book. The images are very comical to keep children interested and the text is not long and very easy for children to understand what is going on. This is not a typical storybook, the story line is not one fluent process each page is like a new incident in Leia's life. Whenever my Daughter has friends over she always wants this book read. This is her most prized story book.

May the force be with you, baby

Such an amazing baby book to give new parents. I have purchased one for every one of my friends who have had a baby, Star Wars fan or not. The artwork is phenomenal and I find the book hilarious. I am happy that it is hardcover as it can stand some abuse that a paperback would not. Such a fantastic writer and illustrator!

Excellent graphics and hilarious situational comedic captions of life with ...

Adore all Jeffrey Brown's Star Wars books! Gifted several of these over the years to friends with a boy and girls. They all have gotten a kick out of them. Excellent graphics and hilarious situational comedic captions of life with a child in a Galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars fan dads with daughters will appreciate this book

This book is pretty funny, any Star Wars fan dad who has daughters will appreciate it! The book is small (shown with pencil for scale) and isn't a story, but a series of illustrations with funny captions. Some are hilarious while others fall a bit flat, but overall it's a fun find. Works great as part of a Father's Day gift.

His reading time is the best part of his day and I know it's because ...

Very cute children's book, though I think my boyfriend enjoys it more than anyone. I bought this for my boyfriend to read to our newborn and he loves to lay her in her crib and read this to her. He is a huge Star Wars nerd and so I couldn't pass this up when I saw it and after finding that we were going to have a daughter. His reading time is the best part of his day and I know it's because of this book. I will more than likely by more kids books from Jeffrey Brown in the near future. The story is adorable and the pictures are cute as the dickens.

Top shelf!

This book is sooooooooo amazing. Very funny, very clever. I bought this for my daughter to include in her Christmas gifts. She loves it! And of course, being a Star Wars fan, I love it!

This was simply ADORABLE!

This was really a great pleasure to read! I've read it over and over 4 times and it's still an absolute joy to read! The great thing is every Dad knows these moments very well and sees themselves here with their own kids. I know anyone who picks this up will absolutely love it!

The force is strong with this book

Vader and Son was great. Vader's Little Princess takes comedy for an entirely new level. (But you really do need both) I have made this book my go to gift for new parents. (If they aren't Star Wars fans, that's their problem.) It's a great alternate look at what life with Darth Vader may have been like for younge Leia if Yoda and Obi Won hadn't taken the kids away from Anikan Skywalker before his final conversion into the Sith Lord Darth Vader. You heard me right....that silly descripton is what this book is about. And it works! It's top notch sci fi comedy! A must read for any Star Wars fan with kids.

Dad Vader - who knew?

Rarely do I ever review books, but this one stood out. What if Lord Vader had played an active role in the lives of his child, Princess Leia? Yes yes, he's Luke's dad too, and he makes a few appearances, but this book focuses on the Princess. Myself, I thought it very, very funny, to see him in situations that many a typical father runs into over the course of raising a daughter. Dating, skimpy clothes, boyfriends, learning to drive, being a brat, etc. The last page is my favorite of all (and I'm not going to spoil it.)

Very cute present!

Cute Christmas present from our 3 year old to my star wars obsessed hubby! Just so you know, its not a story, its a bunch of cute cartoom clips.

So cute

I've given these as baby gifts before. They're always loved and much appreciated. It's made really well. I'm sure I'll be buying more. Worth the price.

Husband and daughter both love it!

Bought this for my hubby’s birthday as a gag gift/father-daughter bonding gift for him. He loves the humor and wit and the little one loves the pictures. Good quality and well made.

Vader's little princess

I can clearly see why Vader's frustration... I do have a little princes too. This book is for 8, 9 or maybe 10 year old kids, depending on their perception of things. Definitively a very fun book for dads with daughters, but something you want to read before you give to your kids and think how to explain, and/or if is appropriate for your kids age. Above all, Vader looks like any of us (dads) in this book, and a must have if you are a Star Wars fan.

Super fun book!

Love Jeffrey Brown's humour and his drawings! Definitely a must have book for those Vader fans and a big laugh for Star Wars fans and everyone in general. It is genius to think of Darth Vader (The baddest villain ever) in common run of the mill situations with his young daughter. Shows you what could have been if things had been a little different. I also own Darth Vader and Son and highly recommend both. You will laugh, you will feel identified if you have children or your close family has them and you will have fun looking at normal child situations from a Star Wars perspective.

He loved this as a Father's Day present (to the point ...

My dad was the one who introduced me to Star Wars and being a nerd in general. He loved this as a Father's Day present (to the point I think he stayed at the table after breakfast and read most of it before leaving). Good quality printing.

meh

unless your kid knows starwars, they will find it hard to follow this book. its kind of all over the place, story jumps and does wierd things, i found it funny, but my kid just didnt understand why the bad guy was being good. or why it was so different from the movie.

such a cute gift for a star wars loving dad

my dad really loves star wars. i've seen several cute things like this that were for vader and luke, but this is the first time, really, that i've ever seen leia acknowledged as vader's daughter. it's such a cute book, very funny, and it hits a lot of the typical father/daughter moments while giving them a star wars twist. i think my dad will really enjoy getting this little book for christmas.

great starwars

such a cute book and my hubby bday gift

Cute collection of comic strips

Cute book. It is sort of like comic strip format though. Purchased for my daughter (who is 2 years old.) I expected to be able to read it to her. It's a good read for a fan who recently had a child, but don't purchase expecting to get a book to read to your kid. It's not inappropriate, it's just not really a story format.

Everything OK!!! Thank you very much.

Everything OK!!! Thank you very much.

Great!

This is a great book, especially when you have a $25 Amazon gift card, it's funny, and fantastic for the young(or old) star wars fan! Although it could be longer, I'd encourage you to buy this book!

Love these books!!!

Love these books! Funny and a little heartwarming if you ask me. 🥰

Cute

The cutest little book. My daughter loved it

If you're a Star Wars fan, and have a daughter, get this book!

Simply put, if you are a huge Star Wars fan and have a daughter this is a great book to read. It would probably be really good even if you didn't have a daughter but I do. I highly recommend this book. Many parts of the book have similar quotes to the movies, but what's funny is the illustration that is used with the line from the movie. It really is a cute book.

Great Continuation

Coming from Darth Vader and son, Jeffrey Brown continues the hilariously illustrated series with Vader's Little Princess. Great illustrations of everyday daddy chores that one will probably had to face if you were a Sith Lord and having a little princess to maintain. I bought this book for my daughter. She had a few laughs looking at the pictures. She is not that big of a Star Wars fan, but she did enjoy the book.

Fun. Star Wars fan must have this.

My husband is going to LOVE this as part of his Fathers Day gift. Such as cute book. It really is for adults though as a small child may not get the nuances and off beat humor of the book. Star Wars fans must have this book.

I used them as a fill in gift and he liked both of them

I bought both of the Vader books for my son-in-law who is a Star Wars fan and has a baby daughter and toddler son. I used them as a fill in gift and he liked both of them. Cute book.

Four Stars

My daughter is obsessed with Darth Vader. This is a cute little book.

Fun Book

If dad is a Star Wars fan and has a daughter he needs this book!

Crowd pleaser

Fun twist on a coming-of-age story with familiar characters in an unexpected situation. Funny enough for kids to giggle at, relatable for adults to smile at too.

Adorable!

Purchased as a May the Fourth Be With You! gift and it was received with pleasure. Giftee reports being thrilled with it. Well put together small hardback book. I love a quality publishing. Nice heavy duty glossy paper and sturdy hardback cover.

So cute!

I was expecting this book to be a story, but it's more of a comic-strip style book with each page having its own little story. I think it's cute and most pages are pretty humorous. My 2 year old doesn't get the jokes, but she likes the pictures so we both win.

Fun for one read, not so much on future reads.

I bought this as part of a Father's Day gift for my husband. It didn't meet my expectations exactly; however, I think that was more my fault as a consumer and not the fault of the product. I expected it to be more "story-telling" and less "comic of the week". This is more of an anthology of comic strips about Vader and Princess Leia. I was expecting more of a linear story line from beginning to end. Also, I expected it to be a book my husband could read to our daughter. It is a little "mature" for younger children. Nothing graphic, just not very child-engaging. My husband enjoyed reading it; however he did say that it is something that you really just read once. I would probably still purchase the book again. I just wish I had done more research about it's contents (I had only seen one or two of the comics included in the book) before purchasing it. Then I probably would not have been disappointed with it.

Daughter loved this book and I enjoyed reading it with her

Daughter loved this book and I enjoyed reading it with her. Star Wars fans will definitely enjoy. I am even considering purchasing the one other Star Wars book by this author.

Bought this for my Star Wars obsessed 5 yr old daughter

My daughter loves these books, though there isn't much of a story line as each page is a single self contained panel. The art work is great and the callbacks to the Star Wars movies makes it fun for me to read them to her.

Who doesn’t like Star Wars

Perfect book for the Star Wars lover to read to your kids!!!!

Only problem is waiting for my Daughter to be old enough to read it to

Being the huge Star Wars nerd that I am and father of a beautiful little girl I'm thrilled this came out. She's our first and while I want her to be girly, it's nice to share some of that nerdom with her (I may or may not have built her a lightsaber at Disneyland for her 1st birthday). Anyways, good stuff, funny book, and great all around!
