Inspirational story even if you are not a sports car fanatic. I really thought there would be a whole lot of Porsche talk and knowledge within. And there really is some of that within.. But that is only part of the story Magnus tells. Most of it covers his upbringing, how he became an entrepreneur and where that led him. I will definitely read this again and consider it part of my permanent book collection.

After meeting Magnus Walker in person, I felt compelled to read this. It was worth every penny of the $11.45 to gain an understanding of his more personal background, as well as his tribulations, business endeavours, and successes. I bought 3 more copies to disseminate amongst my peers, and you should too.

This is a great book and an inspiration to read of how dreams can come true. The author has had some pretty amazing luck and timing as well. Fun read if you like cars, business and genuine characters.

I'm glad Magnus wrote the book,I didn't know much about his early life. This book is a great read and if you're a Porsche fan, he's your man.

You don't have to be a car guy or gal to appreciate this magnificent read! Magnus shows us that hard work, grit and never giving up do make dreams come true.

As a Porsche 911 fan the book is a natural book for me to read. What surprised me was that I really enjoyed his story as much as I enjoyed the 911 stories.

All my friends should read this. I couldn't help but wish that it would not end ... very entertaining. Enjoyed the Urban Outlaw film also.

Magnus is a cool character and his story is both original and inspiring. I've met him at his studio/garage and he really is a rockstar. If you are a porsche guy, an LA guy, or an ex-pat, this is great read!

This book fit my believe. One no need formal degree or education to be successful in life. We need to have more examples like Magnus Walkers in this world.

I have been a fan of the author for a while and have always felt he was a bit of a kindred spirit. The book has some great perspective on a hard working guy who doesn’t go with the grain and has a cool perspective on collecting.

Well written insight by a Porsche God! Interesting for anyone who has ever built a business from the ground up. Magnus is nobody’s fool and he embodies the American entrepreneurial spirit. Even though he’s from the UK. A good read.

Great story about an interesting man with an important message: 1. Go with your gut, 2. Love the one you’re with, and, most importantly, 3. Get out and drive

Great read, I thoroughly enjoyed this start to finish. Magnus shows you how "following your gut" can take you anywhere.

Magnus goes on and on about BS. I would like more on his Porsches. Book was OK but not necessary for the Porsche guy.

Really like his attitude, his passion and his ability to see and catch opportunities in the life. Thank you Magnus for your inspiring story!

My business partner, Ben Murphy, and pal of 30 years gifted this book to me. He is a Ferrari guy. I prefer Zuffenhausen, currently driving my third Porsche. The book is a great read. The chapter Magnus Walker dedicated to his late wife (Karen - Georgia Peach) is very touching. Their chemistry was amazing both in their businesses and their love life. His life story is very interesting. The section about Ted Talks is hilarious. His Porsche tales are wonderful. He shared the story about their clothing business, their loft filming rental business and many anecdotes regarding his efforts to race, rebuild and collect rare and special Porsche cars. Magnus is a respected member of the Porsche global community. For example, Magnus shared that Alex Van Halen is a Porsche guy. Magnus talked about several "Porsche People" examples in his life. HIs unique creativity is manifested in his Porsche car collection, now over 50 Porsche cars. For a young man who quit school at 16, he has accomplished some amazing achievements. #Porsche

Whether you're a car guy, you speak Porsche or are just in need of some inspiration, Magnus Walker's story will deliver a quick, enjoyable read that will leave you feeling motivated and wanting to get the most out of life... This book is definitely a must read for anyone who has habitually rationalized themselves out of following their gut feeling only to regret it later on...

I was always a bit cynical about Magnus's rise to fame within the Porsche enthusiasts world, with a suspicion that the Urban Outlaw film was a very well orchestrated stunt to get him into the public eye in order to generate publicity for his 'brand'. Having read Dirt Don't Slow You Down, I'm happy to eat humble pie and, to quote Magnus himself, agree that his ascendancy has been due to multiple instances of 'right place, right time'. His story is nothing short of inspirational and I recommend this book not only to Porsche enthusiasts but to anyone who wants to be motivated to do something different with their life. The book would have got 5 stars had it not been for the repeated use of the phrases 'truth be told' and 'long story short'. Slightly churlish perhaps, considering the conversational nature of Magnus's prose, but it could have been edited better. It didn't spoil the story though!

One of the best history’s I ever read Really great book and an fantastic histori which needs to be known

Very enjoyable & entertaining. Having been lucky enough to meet the man himself, I've got to say that the book is written & reads in his character.. Super-calm & super-cool. A man who achieves his goals through hard graft, focus, determination & trust. A truly inspirational account & perhaps a manual for 'the business of life' (with some 'life of business' thrown in too). The world is running short of creative & practical folk. My advice: Get out & read.. then get out & do!

Magnus has got a lovely, easy to read conversational style. I would have liked him to expand on his track and racing days a bit more which were dismissed with a single paragraph. Perhaps his modesty prevented him. I loved his story, very inspirational.

A really fantastic book

Wer hinter diesem Buch eine Abhandlung der Porsche Sammlung von Magnus Walker vermutet wird von diesem Buch enttäuscht werden, alles anderen finden eine interessante Autobiographie die natürlich mit einer der interessantesten Porsche-Sammlungen endet. Das Buch ist in englischer Sprache auch gut und flüssig mit mittelmäßigen Englischkenntnissen zu lesen. Von den rund 256 Seiten im Hardcover sind 16 Seiten Vollfarbseiten mit netten Fotos aus dem Leben von Magnus. Es zeigt die typische amerikanische Geschichte dass es in Amerika jeder mit Mut und Fleiß schaffen kann. Magnus Walker beschreibt in dem Buch eindrucksvoll seinen Lebensweg von T-Shirt Verkäufer über den Designer zum Textilunternehmer, anschließend vom Immobilienbesitzer zum Vermieter für die Filmindustrie und vom Porsche Besitzer zum Rennfahrer, Renninstruktor und Porsche-Sammler. Dabei macht er aber auch immer deutlich, dass neben Fleiß auch immer etwas Glück in seinem Leben dabei war und dass Glück nur Möglichkeiten eröffnet, der Mut diese Möglichkeiten zu nutzen aber immer von einem selbst ausgehen muss. Als Essenz aus diesem Buch bleibt "mache was du am besten kannst und nicht was andere von dir erwarten"

Keine literarische Großtat aber ein sehr kurzweiliges Lesevergnügen. Auf seine unnachahmliche Art beschreibt Magnus Walker sein außergewöhnliches Leben, seine Stationen und die immer wieder glücklichen Fügungen. Dabei zieht sich durch das ganze Buch sein Motto: "Follow your gut Feeling" so wie er dies auch in seinem Ted-Talk schon kundtat. Bei aller Popularität bleibt Magnus Walker ein bodenständiger Mensch, der immer noch sehr genau weiß wieviel Glück er hatte und wem er seine anhaltende Popularität verdankt.

Seen this guy on jay leno show and caught my attention, looked like an interesting guy. Picked up the book, was great and some what could relate to some of his stories. Very insperational

It takes a lot to get me to sit down and focus on a book. I blew through this entire thing in a day...highly recommend.
