It seems that Finnegan has taken her knack for getting into misadventures international as she flies to Ireland to work on the adoption process of Luce, an eleven year old orphan who's quirks and eccentricities remind everyone of a young Fin.
Fin's wife, Detective Jane McLeary-May, and the police commander of Belfast head out in search of Finnegan and Luce when disturbances that can only be her are reported at the station while Jane is there.
A tale that will tug on your heartstrings ensues as the chase is on to save a Irish Wolfhound winds up being tied to Luce's tragic past. Fin finds herself and her border collie, Sir Calvin Cornelius Fluffytoes, Luce, and her best friend Bri on the adventure of a lifetime.

My favorite of the series. Minor spoilers ahead
I really loved this addition to the series. As the 7th book in the Finn and Jane books, this probably shouldn't be the book you start with. The 1st and 6th are highly recommended since they cover most of the information needed to get everything going on here. Now for the SPOILER bits. Finn and Jane are off the Ireland to meet their prospective daughter Luce in person. While there is still a bit of mystery in this book, Finn actually manages to NOT find herself in a trouble. The Hound About Town really focuses on the relationship between Luce, Finn, and Jane. The large cast of characters that have built up over the series take a backseat this time and it's a great change to have so much of the spotlight on Finn, Luce, and Jane. The Hound feels like the last book in the series, but it does leaves some leeway for an 8th installment. While I of course hope for more, this was an extremely satisfying possible end for the series.
Another cute book in a cute series
In this latest installment we follow Fin and Jane as they head to Ireland on a quest to expand their family. Yes, Fin gets into trouble. Yes, Jane gets that exasperated look on her face. And yes, there is love and fun and family and a little occasional sadness. An excellent continuation of the series.
Heartbreaking but oh so good.
I laughed and I cried happy years and yes some sad tears. I love both new character's Luce and Bri. The story is well written and it's worth the time to read it. Again I'm looking forward to read the next book in the series.
Fin and Jane fly to Ireland.
Another fun novella in the “Unleashed” series. Fin and Jane go to Ireland to meet their potential adoptive daughter, Luce. Things happen as they always do when Fin is involved and the women come home with a double surprise. I love the series, I just wish the books were full novels. I just get comfortable in Fin and Jane’s world and the book is at end! But I wouldn’t miss a minute of this funny, sappy family. Enjoy!
Loved this book!
What a heart warming story about adoption, family, friendships and love. I have been reading this Series and enjoying it. All the adventures of Finnigan keep you laughing even as she enlists the New York City dog walkers to help capture a murderer. You will fall in love with all the characters in this series!
Great! Loved it!
The other reviewers said this was the best book in the series. They were right. I loved it. I dare anyone to read the last ten pages without crying their eyes out. I can’t wait for the next book. Please make this available on audio.
A good addition
This one was just amazing to read! I loved the characters and the way they interacted with one another. I would love to read more on their adventures!
A Great Family
I knew practically the whole time they were taking Bri too. I'm happy they did. I absolutely love this series. I hope there's more to come. Plus I knew Luce would get her hound. This series just has a way of stealing hearts. I've loved it since the beginning. The characters all add to the story and it's never boring. And the names of the books always make me laugh.
Well by all that's fluffy
It's as fun as it is heartbreaking for the orphans all over the world Read it laugh and cry then read the next one
Endearing srory
This is a great story even though it is different the the rest. This story centers more on the could relationship instead of the dogs. There is still trouble to be has but is good matured and funny .
