As narrated by Tuesday, Tuesday Tucks Me In is a day in the life of this service dog extraordinaire and tail-wagging ambassador for all things positive and uplifting in the world. The book takes us through a typical day of adventures, starting with Tuesday waking military veteran Luis Carlos Montalván in the morning and greeting him with dog breath in the face, and then ending with Tuesday cuddling up to Luis on their bed, the last moment they spend together before sleep.

Love it!!
As an elementary school teacher, my students have usually put working dogs into two categories: guide dogs for the blind and police dogs. In Tuesday Tucks Me In, Tuesday introduces himself as a different kind of service dog. Children can make connections with Tuesday's routines that are similar to other dogs', and they can expand their understanding as Tuesday describes his responsibilities as a service dog for Luis, a veteran with disabilities. This story is a wonderful bridge to conversations about "invisible" disabilities, the sacrifices of our veterans, and the mutual devotion between humans and dogs. Additionally, Luis and Tuesday's story helps us talk to children about the reality of stress and anxiety. Sadly, even young children have stress and anxiety, and many of them do not yet know how to put those thoughts and feelings into words. This book gives us a great way to have a dialogue about those feelings and the importance of asking for and accepting help. I enjoyed Capt. Montalvan's bestseller Until Tuesday, and now it's great to hear Tuesday's side of the story! The story and illustrations are so precious - there's no way you won't love this book!
A story that touches your soul
I just read this wonderful book today and it is a great story about a service dog and his veteran. Tuesday, his service dog that helps him is a wonderful story for children to read about service dogs and how they help people with disabilities, especially our wounded veterans coming home from war. So if you want to honor any of our coming home veterans and so many other people with disabilities and people who have children then this the perfect book to buy for them to cherish forever. The pictures in the book are an amazing part of the story and they touched my soul as I looked into the eyes of Tuesday and Luis. Both of them have imprinted my heart with warmth and admiration for sharing their story with me and so many others.
Touching, heartfelt and informative......
This book delivered exactly what I expected. A touching, heartfelt story from a service dog's perspective. Beautiful color photos and an easy to understand story suitable for all ages. Fmr. Capt. Luis Carlos Montalvan's previous book, "Until Tuesday" opened my eyes and my heart in a way no other book has done. I have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of "Tuesday Tucks Me In" and I was not dissapointed. Purchase multiple copies and share them with your local libraries, offer to read it to a class at school or give it as a birthday or Christmas Gift. Invite this incredibly gifted young man and his service dog to your community to raise awareness for all those who have disabilities of any kind. This book will aid in teaching young children understanding those who benefit from a service dog. Any time a child learns compassion and understanding, it is a good thing. After reading this book, please find a way to give back and spread the word. I am honored to have a copy of both his books in my home. God bless you, Luis and Tuesday for all you do.
These students have already learned firsthand the joy a therapy dog gives and that dogs really are ...
Let me preface by writing that I have a Golden Retriever therapy dog and that we do a reading program with Special Ed students in our middle school. These students have already learned firsthand the joy a therapy dog gives and that dogs really are considered a loving part of a family and actually live inside a home. Most of these students are boys who consider themselves “macho” with outside country dogs. I chose this book for them to read last week. Why? Because a “macho” man can really have visible and invisible war wounds. And who came to his rescue? A dog! Not just any dog, but a service dog named Tuesday! Not only did these students eagerly read this book aloud, but they were amazed at the pictures of a man and a dog bonding to such a degree that they were/are inseparable! Tuesday, through pictures and words, describes the love and commitment between a man desperately needing to recover and re-claim his life – and doing it with a dog. Waking up with a Golden grin staring at him, brushing their teeth “together” (this brought a “yuck”), the comforting effect of Tuesday being closely held by Luis on a subway (had to tell these children what a subway is), the fun of an amusement park and seeing the life inside a man coming back to life all because of a dog. We sincerely and lovingly thank Tuesday for “writing” this book and wish Luis the full life he deserves, Carole W., NC
A delightful and heartwarming book!
Our favorite service dog team is back in a delightful, well-written, and easy to understand new children's book. Former U.S. Army Captain Luis Carlos Montalván and his extraordinary Golden Retriever service dog named Tuesday, whom we first were introduced to in the adult best seller, "Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him," return to tell about a typical day in their life together. This time it is Tuesday telling the story, enhanced by spectacular color photos of the two of them. Children ages four to eight (and adults, too!) will enjoy reading and learning about what service dogs are and how greatly they help their people every minute of every day. And what a full and often fun day this is! Hard-working Tuesday has a very important job to do, and the heart of the story is Luis and Tuesday's bond of trust and mutual love and devotion. I highly recommend this entertaining and heartwarming story for children of all ages!
Bright, colorful and beautifully photographed
This is an engaging story that I would love to share with a young child. Having read Montalvan's "Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him," I wondered if his story could be told in a children's book. It does convey much of that fine book's story but in a manner suitable for children and cleverly told through Tuesday's "voice." The photography is striking and conveys a warm and real feeling about a typical day in the life of Tuesday and Luis. The book is visually attractive with excellent use of spot colors on the text pages that face the large photographs. It's a book I believe kids would love to see/read over and over and one that parents would truly enjoy as well.
5 STARS (and only because I can't select more!)
Having read Montalvan's book, "Until Tuesday" (an absolute must-read), I thought it would be fun to buy the children's book for our girls, aged 9 and 12. You open the book to see Tuesday's gorgeous mug, close up, saying, "In the morning, every morning, my friend Luis wakes up to... THIS." And your heart just melts. As you turn the pages, beautiful photos and simple texts explain - from Tuesday's point of view - what he does to help and support Luis every day. The beauty of this book is that it speaks *to* children, not *at* them; it's at their level. The otherwise scary concepts for a child or pre-teen to fully grasp (PTSD, TBI, depression, anxiety) are so gently presented that the reader is given constant messages about strength in the face of adversity, the power of hope, and the healing beauty of companionship and love. In his note at the end of the book, Luis strikes just the right balance: he addresses his disabilities, yes, but - most importantly - he communicates his new-found strength and positive energy thanks to the bond he shares with Tuesday. Our girls were especially touched by seeing how Luis and Tuesday are so important for each other: thanks to their bond and their work together, they are able to carry out their respective callings... They truly bring out the best in each other. This book does a brilliant job of conveying to young readers how very important service/assistance dogs are for the disabled. Tuesday's story brings home just how hard both Luis and Tuesday work every day; they're true "paw-tners" when it comes to raising public awareness. Last but not least - and without giving any spoilers - the girls LOVED Tuesday's sweet nickname. Adorable! We all very much hope that Luis continues to write about his successes with Tuesday.
... books about talking pigs and bears wearing clothes are great for stimulating a child's imagination
Although story books about talking pigs and bears wearing clothes are great for stimulating a child's imagination, I long for books that help children think about real life, especially books that show how real people are different, and how they are alike. I absolutely loved Until Tuesday, because it opened my eyes to some of our veterans issues in a much more personal way than do articles in the newspaper. I am so excited that Tuesday Tucks Me In offers similar insight in a format accessible to children! The pictures are warm and personal, and Tuesday is beautiful. I bought a copy for my grandson who is turning 5 and he loves the book. It will help us talk with him about how we all have issues to deal with, and that it helps to have a friend to share with. Especially, though, I love the way the wonderful relationship between this dog and this man are described through few words and stunning, expressive pictures.
I have fallen in love with Tuesday and Luis!
I read Luis' Until Tuesday and it touched me in ways no other book has. I was so excited to learn about Tuesday Tucks Me In; and, again, I am so touched by Tuesday's story, the illustrations and the very last picture of Tuesday and Luis warmed my heart and touched my soul. What an amazing story to be shared with my three granddaughters. I, too, am the proud owner of a beautiful Golden who amazes me with his intelligent manner, caring, support and lovable ways. Cooper so reminds me of Tuesday! Luis and Tuesday, through their heartwarming stories, have taught me more about my own relationship with my Golden. I am forever grateful to Luis and the many difficult sacrifices he has made...and still makes....protecting and fighting for our country. I pray that Luis, through his gift of his writings and seminars, and with the love and support of Tuesday, has found peace and gentleness in his every day. If you have not read these two marvelous stories, please do. You will experience emotions, heartache and great joy when you go through days with Luis and Tuesday! Thank you Luis for enlightening us and please give Tuesday golden hugs!
Excellent and topical for all.
Montalván is a combat veteran. Tuesday is a highly trained service dog. Their personalities shine through brilliantly in this small book well suited to readers of all ages. Did I say 'small'? Small like an 80 pound dog; small like the heart of the fiercest warrior; small like the spirit the drives anyone with injuries to keep moving forward to meet everyday challenges unknown to most. Together, Luis' and Tuesday's bond show why dogs are indeed humanity's best friends and provide insight into how dogs may have actually domesticated early Man. They have been showing us the way ahead for centuries, and Tuesday's professionalism as a service dog is the latest role in a long-standing partnership. The book reads easily, is good for young readers - I donated a copy to my local library, and smiled as they wrangled for who would read it first, and provides adults a superb look at how service dogs support their partners' needs. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Photography & Moving Story
Our 4 year old is nervous around dogs, and a friend recommended this book. It's wonderful! Our daughter enjoys the huge photography pictures as well as the story, and it has helped her to see dogs as "friends" and "helpers" rather than something to be afraid of. I will say the book touches on Louis' injuries in the war as well as PTSD, so I edit this a bit as I read aloud to her.... you may need to do the same if reading to very young kids who aren't yet able to understand PTSD, etc. But it's also a great way to start kids on understanding about physical and mental injuries and how much soldiers sacrifice to keep us safe. Definitely recommended!
is such a wonderful and informative picture book to add to my collection
'Tuesday Tucks Me In', by Luis Carlos Montalvan, is such a wonderful and informative picture book to add to my collection. I will be ordering these for all of the younger people in my life, this Christmas. I feel that it is important for the youth in our country to know what goes on between a service dog and their human. This book describes so beautifully, those events and struggles that take place in a day of the life of Luis, a wounded warrior, and his loving and attentive service dog, Tuesday. I feel that many people, of every age, look at folks in their situation and want to ask questions, but obviously feel that it would not be proper. Captain Montalvan answers those questions by letting Tuesday, his service dog and family member, narrate this beautiful book while answering those curious questions. I highly suggest this wonderful book, you feel the love and respect from these two, man and mans best friend, on every page. I gladly give this book a 5 Barking Star Rating!
A story for anyone everyday.
This book tells the story of the relationship between Tuesday, a service dog, and Luis, a wounded Army veteran, as they live one day together. A nurturing relationship, an intimate relationship is, to be honest, rare. Anyone, who has worked hard and long to build such a relationship, treasures it. Anyone, who has risked their self on many occasions and in many ways to build such a relationship, feeds that relationship. Any of us, who watches such a relationship, learns from it. Tuesday and Luis do have such a relationship. Anyone of us, who follow them through a typical day, can receive some healing of our spirit. The words that lead us through their day are simple to understand by children and anyone older. The pictures especially, full of fun and compassion, are half a bridge that Tuesday and Luis extend over a stream, inviting anyone to swing out half a bridge to meet them. Reading this book I could touch the character of their relationship: the honest enjoyment of each other's personality, their devotion to each other, and their mutual purpose. Children will easily embrace this story of what a loving home is like. Anyone older will as well. I read this truthful story book to my grandchildren, sitting beside them on their bed, as a prayer for us. Many nights, before I search for sleep, I read this story to guide my dreams. I recommend Tuesday Tucks Me In to anyone of us, a story we will probably will return to many times, a story that will reward us and our children richly.
Tuesday Teaches Us All
The title of this important and heartwarming book, “Tuesday Tucks Me In,” says it all. Tuesday is a service dog who has given former Army Captain Luis Carlos Montalván his life back. As a wounded warrior with debilitating physical and mental injuries, Captain Montalván was lost and alone when he returned from combat. Now, with Tuesday by his side every minute of every day, he is finally “home.” Tuesday narrates this book, which tenderly and honestly pulls back the curtain on a life-saving relationship – the bond between a veteran and his service dog. The pictures are endearing and the words speak volumes about the wounds of war (both visible and invisible) and the role a service dog can play in mitigating the challenges of mental and physical disability. With love and humor, Tuesday goes through a day in his life with Luis, teaching readers exactly what a “service dog” does to assist with everyday tasks, while also revealing the profoundly spiritual relationship between man and dog – human spirit and furry spirit. On so many levels, Tuesday teaches about acceptance, about hope, about purpose, about moving forward together. Tuesday takes care of Luis, and Luis takes care of Tuesday. The love and courage in this book will touch the hearts and minds of readers of all ages – and possibly persuade reluctant children to want to brush their teeth, since Tuesday happily brushes his, with help, of course, from Luis.
The beautifully displayed photos that depicted a working day in Tuesdays ...
We originally bought Tuesday Tucks Me In for our three year old grandson, but I find myself enjoying going through the pages as much as he did. The beautifully displayed photos that depicted a working day in Tuesdays life brought smiles to both of us. How wonderful to have a book for children that brings up the subject of people with disabilities and wonderful canines thatvservice them. Teaching children even at a young age to have compassion and empathy towards people with disabilities is a wonderful concept for a book. Tuesday's caring and beautiful face only enhanced these feelings as you read along about how he helps Luis every day. I would recommend this book to anyone who is in the market for a great night time read. Along with real life lessons that are often difficult for parents to approach, Tuesday Tucks me in promotes awareness and acceptance of people with disabilities that we meet every day.
My Night Table Book!
I purchased this book along with ''Until Tuesday.'' Being such a golden retriever lover, I had seen both these books advertised and knew I MUST have both! ''Tuesday Tucks Me In'' is such a sweet, heart-warming story, wonderful bedtime story for children. Although my grandchildren are a bit older, aged 15, 13, and 11, they each enjoyed ''Nani'' reading it to them! Because I have owned only golden retrievers, they have the same admiration for them as I do. ''Tuesday Tucks Me In'' sits on my night table---when I have trouble sleeping, I reach for it as I find it to be most comforting. Last month I had the honor of meeting the author, Luis Carlos Montalvan and Tuesday---it was one of the most humble times for me. I look forward to meeting with them again. You do not have to have children to enjoy this book!
Destined to be a bestseller!
Luis Carlos Montalván and Tuesday have done it again - another book that will stay with readers long after they have finished reading it...and each reader will return to this book over and over, savoring each page. Just as Montalvan did in Until Tuesday, readers will find themselves captivated from the first words and drawn further and further into the book until the end. This children's book may have a target age associated with it, but the content is perfect for any age. Luis lets us into his daily life, showing how Tuesday and he begin a day, go about their lives, and get back to the comforts of their home. The love and care this team shows for each other is sweetly depicted, both in words and in photographs. The WORDS - beautifully descriptive. The PHOTOGRAPHS - absolutely priceless and beautiful. This book is destined to be on the New York Times Bestseller list soon. How fortunate we are to further explore the fantastic bond these two heroes have with each other. How fortunate we are to have the opportunity to learn from them, to laugh and smile with them, to know that they are living life to the fullest with each other. Thank you, Luis Carlos Montalvan and Tuesday...for all that you do each day. You make this world a better place.
A terrific book for children and adults
"Tuesday Tucks Me In" is a wonderful book that sheds light on the important role of service dogs for veterans. Tuesday is Montalvan's service dog. Written from Tuesday's perspective, readers see a day in the life of Tuesday -- from providing physical and emotional assistance to Montalvan to reading Montalvan's needs and sharing love with other veterans. But it also shows that Tuesday is more than just a working dog -- he is Montalvan's best friend and lifesaver, and he gets to be a dog sometimes, too. After reading this sweet book, readers will understand the realities that veterans with traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder face daily and how service dogs can enrich their lives. Five stars!
Enchanting, educational, and so enjoyable!
After writing his New York Times bestselling autobiography “Until Tuesday,” retired Captain Luis Montalván now writes for his newest and younger audience! Enchantingly written for children, “Tuesday Tucks Me In” tells a delightful story with a very important message. From the moment you open the book you are greeted nose-to-fuzzy-nose with beautiful and captivating Golden Retriever “Tuesday,” who narrates his story. But Tuesday is not a pet. Tuesday is a Service Dog with very specialized training which enables him to perform important duties necessary to assist his human companion Luis. And so begins the story of a typical day of very important work for Tuesday (and some playtime too!) as he and Luis spend their day together. What I love about this book is the layout of narration and vibrant illustrative photography, which captures and holds the attention of the young reader. The format allows for plenty of page-by-page discussions, questions, and educational responses. “Tuesday Tucks Me In” teaches the young reader about the important role a service dog plays in the life of a person with observable or unseen disabilities. Great job Captain Montalván (and Tuesday!) Well-written, educational, but mostly, so enjoyable for both young readers and adults! Dr. Donna M. Struck
Beautiful Sensitive and Captivating
This book, is a wonderful touching book beautifully written and flooded with exquisite large photography to reinforce the written imagery that Luis conveys about his life with his service dog Tuesday. I have read three of Luis books, starting with "Until Tuesday" (more aimed for adults as it deals with the War, and what had transpired prior to his disabilities). In this book, I believe, Luis speaks to our next generations about the vital role service dogs provide to our disabled Veteran Heroes from War, as well as service dogs in general. It is touching on all levels, and I really enjoyed the adventure~ as he and Tuesday tour their town of New York. Luis and Tuesday, often travel to libraries far and wide, even Alaska! and talk to children about their relationship and educate them about their journey together. In a delicate beautiful way, Luis conveys the importance of service dogs for all people with disabilities. I am sure it must be a deeply heartwarming experience, to have the honor of getting to meet such celebrities in person. This book, is a perfect segway to expose our next generations to this very important role that benefits both of them in so many ways. lvfry
Fabulous.
I purchased this book for my 7 year old dog-loving grandson after reading "Until Tuesday" by the same author. Written from the perspective of Tuesday, who is a Service Dog, it contains absolutely gorgeous pictures and absolutely exceeded my expectations. My grandson absolutely adores it! It arrived four days ago and he is still carrying it around with him. He has already read it repeatedly and spends even more time looking at the pictures. More importantly, it is teaching him about the role Service Dogs play in the lives of handicapped persons and that when they are wearing their vests they are working. Thank you, sir, for your service not only to our great country but in raising awareness of service dogs and PTSD/social anxiety disorder for adults ("Until Tuesday") and now kids ("Tuesday Tucks Me In"). Bless you both.

Having read the full story, when I saw this book advertised I immediately thought of my two young grandchildren & how they could learn a little more about how war ravages many who return home 'in pieces'. When it arrived, I read it through first to be sure of what I would be placing in front of the children & I was NOT disappointed. I thought it was brilliantly compiled & had NO hesitation in handing it over to the grandchildren aged 8 years & 6 years. They have both read it & found it thought provoking on a level that they could cope with by asking good quality questions. They both plan to read it again soon. I thought the original book was excellent & this is a great add on. Children should be encouraged to read it as it helps them get a feel for what is going on in this crazy world because it will not overpower them. Brilliant.

Uniquely Educational, Heartwarming, Loving Story...
Children and those whom are reading to them such as their parents, grandparents or relatives, and teachers are introduced for the very first time to the significant role service dogs play in the lives of people needing them, such as this former Army Captain, as well as numerous other people in today's world. The reader and listener are shown in a warm, tactful, real-life presentation how a person's life is bettered from sunrise to sundown. This delightful story recites and visually depicts through aesthetically pleasing, colorful, full-page photographs one day in the life of these two amazing souls. Beginning with the normal morning routines, then on to the stressful social interactions with other people and places throughout the day, and then on to the more joyful, playful times they so richly enjoy together, and concluding with their adoring bedtime routine. Most importantly, children will be taught empathy for one another at a young age. A trait that generally is not taught. This book carries many lessons we all can learn from and can take away new values, utilizing them in our present everyday lives. An excellent learning tool for children and anybody desiring to know and see what it feels like to be a service dog or handler through the eyes of the narrator himself, the favorite Golden Retriever TUESDAY of UNTIL TUESDAY. We also are shown what unconditional love and loyalty can foster in children and encouraging them from a young age to respect one another.
A must read - children AND adults!
After reading "Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever who Saved Him" I had to purchase this chidrens' version of the story. It is a must read for children AND adults! If you have a young child, you will enjoy reading this book to them. It will most likely invoke some questions and comments from the child. They will learn that all wounds are not visible but are very real just the same. The pictures are fabulous. Tuesday is the narrator and tells their story in a way that children will understand. They will see a bond between Luis and Tuesday that they won't forget. There are a lot of valuable lessons in this book - patriotism, loyalty, love, understanding, hope. Children and adults will feel the bond between Luis and Tuesday. So yes, maybe it's written for children, but this lovely book is right on my coffee table all of the time!
More Than a Children's Book
This book was written for children, but adults will love the story and pictures also. It is a look into the lives of people with disabilities and the working and loving relationship between person and dog. I met Luis Montalvan and Tuesday last summer at a book signing in Traverse City for Luis' book Until Tuesday which was a courageous and amazing story of a wounded Iraq veteran struggling for a new life and Tuesday's Journey to becoming a service dog to help him have that life. Reading either of these books will make a new place in your heart for what our veterans go through, the needs they have, and how service dogs can give independence and new life opportunities to those with disabilities. Teri's Post.
Tuesday Tucks Me In
Tuesday Tucks Me in by Luis Carlos Montalvan is a book that should be on every preschool, elementary, Middle School, High School and Library Shelf in America. Not only is it filled with heartfelt love, support, service and warm fuzzy pictures, it is a learning tool for everyone of all ages. If we can start teaching our children from an early age, and catch up with those adults who have never had an opportunity to learn the importance of these service dogs and the people they serve, how incredible would that be. I would urge the high school students and adults to go back and read Capt. Montalvans first book," Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him." This book will give you a more in depth history of how these two came together and what this soldier and his loyal dog went through to get where they are today. I truly pray that both of these books will give all a newfound respect for both Luis and Tuesday, and all who walk in their shoes every day. Please open your hearts and your doors to them and never question the need or the service they provide. God Bless Luis and Tuesday for bringing this ever present need to all who will listen and learn. I will be purchasing another copy to put on our towns library shelf and urging everyone to do the same. Cathie Godfrey
It is a wonderful book for both young and old
After reading "Until Tuesday" I couldn't wait to read "Tuesday Tucks Me In". I ordered the hard copy but found I couldn't wait for it to come in the mail. I also had to order it for my Kindle. It is a wonderful book for both young and old! The pictures are touching and the words a lesson to all. I think that anyone who has the love of a dog like Tuesday, Service dog or pet, can relate to the story Tuesday tells of his human. You can feel the love that Tuesday has for Luis. I believe that this book is a must for children both this Holiday season and all days through the years. I can't wait to give a copy to each child on my list. Love, Love, LOVE this book. Thank you Tuesday and Luis for this wonderful story. A story of love between a dog and his human that shows how they help each other to live each and every day.
A new favorite children's book!
Luis and Tuesday do it again with this new, inspiring children's book. As someone that works with young children and reads children's book on the regular, very rarely does a book come along that captivates children completely and Tuesday Tucks Me In does just that! From the beginning of the book you can feel the unconditional love and bond between Luis and Tuesday. Tuesday is a service dog but he is also much more than that, he is an angel - to Luis and many others. His work ethic makes him admirable but his goofy moments make him even more lovable. Tuesday Tucks Me In educates children about the world of service animals, something that is not talked about enough. Share this book with everyone you know so more people can be educated and discrimination and ignorance can be quelled. From a dog lover's perspective, I appreciate the fact that Luis and Tuesday spread the word of how powerful a bond with a four-legged, furry pup can be. The happiness, love and devotion pour off each page and has you smiling from beginning to end!
A beautiful book that inspires hope and appreciation for the many gifts the bonds between animals and humans offer.
"Tuesday Tucks Me In" is an inspiring and fun-loving story of the adventures shared in a day between a resilient veteran and his trusted service dog, Tuesday. The story and the pictures inspire hope and teach children in a moderate way about all of the care and skill that go into such an endearing and loving, working relationship. This story not only speaks directly to veterans and their families, but also to people with disabilities and those who create the circle of support for them as well. As someone who has worked with children with special needs for decades, and as the owner of my own irreplaceable dog companion, I highly recommend this book to educators, artists, librarians, and child care providers! I was so touched by the opportunity to see Former Captain Luis Montalvan and Tuesday read the book to a large group of children in my local library, and the kids were so taken and amused by the loving bond that these two share. I hope you too will purchase your own copy to share with your children, grandchildren, and extended family. It is a story that is both relevant and touching for all of us!
"Tuesday Tucks Me In" is told from Tuesday's perspective and is a beautiful story about the bond of love between a soldier ...
"Tuesday Tucks Me In" is another wonderful book by Luis Carlos Montalvan that belongs in every home and classroom. I was smitten with Luis and Tuesday and inspired by their relationship and courage after reading "Until Tuesday". "Tuesday Tucks Me In" is told from Tuesday's perspective and is a beautiful story about the bond of love between a soldier and his service dog. The story of their relationship is told so that readers of any age will enjoy this book. The color photographs are so well done that they can almost "tell" the story on their own, giving us a visual window to the life that Luis and Tuesday share. Whether you are a parent, teacher, Golden lover...child or adult...this book is a gem and one that gives the reader a clear insight into the world of the brave men that fight for our country and some of the real issues they face when they return to civilian life. Issues that are made so much easier to bear because of the beautiful angels that help them through in the form of pure golden, love. Highly recommended!!!!
Beautiful photographs and story
They say a picture is worth 1,000 words. Nowhere is that more evident than in the new children’s book by Captain Luis Carlos Montalván. “Tuesday Tucks Me In” is sweetly narrated by Tuesday, Luis’ service dog and constant companion. However, what shows the incredible bond between them more than any words, are the amazing photos of their daily lives together. Each picture shows how Tuesday and assistance dogs like him help their partners to live more independently; and can be appreciated whether the reader is a child or an adult. It’s obvious how much Luis benefits from and loves Tuesday (and the love that Tuesday feels and gives back to him). When you see these relationships form between a dog and its person, it’s an amazing gift to witness. And it’s clear there is an unbreakable bond between these two. From someone who works in the field, thank you Luis and Tuesday for bringing much needed attention to the service dog world!
Beautiful story, wonderful pictures, and an enjoyable read
This is a beautiful story of Tuesday, a magnificent golden retriever, and Luis a former Army Captain who served his country gallantly overseas. They share a very special bond that is both touching and heartwarming. The photographs are very emotional . This book is very appealing because I am a proud owner of 3 goldens, wife of a Vietnam disabled veteran , and have taught elementary school for 26 years and know that children will enjoy this book also. This very talented author also wrote Until Tuesday which was an excellent and insightful narrative of the difficulties he faced after the war and one marvelous dog who changed his life forever. I would recommend this book to anyone who has children, loves goldens, or would like a greater understanding of service dogs.
A Must Have Book
I received Tuesday Tucks Me In in perfect condition on the exact date amazon stated delivery. When I opened my book I was spellbound from the front cover to the back cover. This book is a "must have" for all people who love Golden Retrievers, for teachers, and for parents with children of any age. The photography of Tuesday and Luis is amazing as is the humorous text~ I will take Tuesday Tucks Me In to school to share with my 6th graders but I will have to order a copy for my home as I am very particular on who touches my prized books.
Tuesday is Tops!
"Tuesday Tucks Me In" is a wonderful look into the world of service dogs and the healing/assistance they provide presented on a level that children can easily understand. The love and bond between Tuesday and Luis is heart-warming and flows so freely through this beautifully written book. As a teacher of special needs children and volunteer puppy raiser for GDF/America's Vet Dogs my students were thrilled to read about how the puppies they help train grow up to be service dogs and see the important work they do. If you are a teacher, youth group, or library, there are also fun and free (yes, teachers get excited about the free part!) activity sheets for children K-2 available at www.tuesdaytucksmein.com. Hopefully Tuesday and Luis will continue to share their adventures in another children's book in the future.
Veteran's Day MUST!
Heartwarming story. Luis is a brave soldier as is Tuesday. Teachers and parents, this is a great book to read to your children on Veteran's Day or Memorial Day or July 4th.
Tuesday Tucks Me In!
I've been waiting for Tuesday Tucks Me In since Luis first mentioned it. Received my copy yesterday and it is everything that I hoped it would be. The text is tight and easy to read the photographs are top notch. I can not wait to share this with my Grandchildren and plan to get copies for my two daughters-in-law, who are elementary school teachers, to have in their classrooms! Congratulations Luis and Tuesday on sharing your lives together with the younger set to help them understand Service dogs and people with unseen disabilities! I will look forward to see what Luis and Tuesday do next!
Everyone can learn from Tuesday Tucks Me in: The Loyal Bond between a Soldier and His Service Dog!
Everyone, young and old, can learn from Tuesday Tucks me In. Although the target audience is for children, I believe adults will also learn the value a service dog can provide to our brave and wounded Soldiers. This book needs to be read to and by all children so that they will understand the role a service dog plays in a persons life. Luis and Tuesday are a beautiful pair of souls and their story is nothing short of a love story. This book exemplifies the love Luis and Tuesday have for each other and it shows how important they both are in each others lives. The book was beautifully illustrated with adorable photos that mere words couldn't convey. Thank you Luis and Tuesday for sharing your experiences and your life with the whole world. You both make a difference everyday. God Bless you both!
Whimsy, Information and Love
"Tuesday Tucks Me In" is creative and artistic...gently sharing with the reader valuable information, not only about the benefit of service dogs for all types of disabilities, but also about acceptance and love. Luis has brilliantly blended education and whimsy through the narrative voice and beautiful images of his extraordinary best friend and service dog - "Tuesday." "Tuesday Tucks Me In" is an exceptional balance of soft golden retriever warm fuzzy, tug at that spot in your heart that makes you say "AW" right out loud and practical, necessary, delicately delivered facts that carefully awaken awareness. I cannot end this review without commenting on the images of Luis and Tuesday, living their lives, and sharing their story. Using photographs, rather than illustrations allows the reader...of any age, to connect with Luis and Tuesday, creating a reading experience that is honest and intimate. Children will especially benefit from the visuals, because the images of this real soldier and his real service dog make this book more than just a story...
Must read for children of all ages
This is a wonderful book about the close relationship between a wounded warrior and his service dog. It speaks of all the many wonderful ways a service dog enhances and assists the disabled, whether that disability is PTSD or any other form of disability. It should be a must read for all children to understand that service dogs are much more than "mere" pets, they work for their human to enable the to live a better life.
For a 5-8 Year Old, Great Book!
Great book, well written, but maybe for a 5-8 year old. I'm going to get it signed and save it until my grandchildren are about that age. Explores the concept of a helper dog, and the fact of a wounded veteran from a war. The dog is amazingly adorable. He does amazing things to help his man. I really enjoyed reading it.
An amazing look into the day of Tuesday
WOW. I got this book as I am a huge fan of Until Tuesday. This was absolutely a NECESSITY for our daughters bookshelf. I can not WAIT to sit and rock her while reading this and looking at sweet Tuesday. His face has such a gentleness that is sure to calm a newborn. Luis' story always brings tears to my eyes when I see how amazing and caring Tuesday is to such a sweet man. The love and trust of a man and his dog is a simply awe inspiring thing. Clearly, a must have.
Great Pictures of Tuesday & Luis
This book was a great follow-up for "Until Tuesday, A Wounded Warrior & the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him". It told more about their bond & all the things Tuesday does for Luis as his service dog. I loved the pictures of these two great friends. It further convinced me that Service Dogs should be made available for all military personnel w/ PTSD and the many injuries that they have returning from action. They are invaluable "tools" & companions for these returning heroes .
Best Book For Educators: Tuesday Tucks Me In!
Every once in a while a very special book comes along that we know will be read and shared many times over for years to come… Tuesday Tucks Me In is such a book! This book is a must have/must read for anyone who works with young students, as well as for any parent of a child in elementary school. I had been waiting for this book to come out for some time, and I read it to my students on its first day out. What a success! They loved it, as did I. My students were very interested and inquisitive about the authentic experiences of Luis as a veteran with disabilities, and immediately fell in love with Tuesday as they learned about all the ways he works as a service dog to help Luis! As an educator of young students, I’m always looking for creative and fun ways to teach my students about issues that will broaden their understanding of different types of people in their world, including those with disabilities. Tuesday Tucks Me In strikes the perfect balance between providing the reader with information about how Tuesday assists Luis with his disabilities and being playfully humorous in other parts of the book. Order your copy today… you’ll be so glad you did!
A story of trust and faith
Tuesday Tucks Me In is a wonderfully told true story for young children to develop an understanding of the importance of Service Dogs and their invaluable assistance to people in the community with visible and also invisible disabilities. The photographs are beautiful and very obvious as to their practical and emotional meaning. I thoroughly recommend it to small kids and big kids alike, along with the original book "Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him", upon which it is based. Luis Carlos Montalvan has opened his soul to share these memoirs of both he and Tuesday and they are both well worth reading.
I particularly love this book because our Tucker looks just like Tuesday
Our Golden is named Tucker - and he "tucks" my heart in everyday and evening. There is something so remarkable about this breed. Also, I particularly love this book because our Tucker looks just like Tuesday. No doubt there is a very special between man (boy/girl/woman) and their best dog friend. It is truly a remarkable and warm relationship worth celebrating!!!
Perfect complement to the book 'Until Tuesday'
Kind of a followup to 'Until Tuesday, a Wounded Warrior & the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him' by Luis Carlos Montalvan. This is a 'photo album' of Tuesday & his warrior. It was written up as 'recommended reading' by a local librarian who read books to those a lot younger than myself! It 'completes' Tuesday's story and makes a great pair of books!

I read this wonderful book full of beautiful pictures of Tuesday and fell in love with him. Even though the book is a children's book and easy for them to follow the story I enjoyed the story in my senior years. It's a great story about a service dog and his wounded warrior and their every day life. I was fortune enough to have met Tuesday and Capt. Montalvan twice now and they both touched me deeply. This is a very warm and loving book and the children just loved looking at the pictures in the book and reading the story. I would highly recommend this book for any child or adult.
Not Worth Buying.
I loved Luis's UNTIL TUESDAY and am going to start TUESDAY's PROMISE. THIS WAS NOT AN INTERESTING BOOK EITHER FOR CHILDREN OR ADULTS.
Love it!
A beautiful book about a beautiful friendship. A wonderful complement to the adult (also HIGHLY recommended) "Until Tuesday," "Tuesday Tucks Me In" is a well-told and beautifully photographed story, told from Service Golden Retriever Tuesday's point of view, about his best friend Luis, a veteran who Tuesday helps in so many ways. The photographs are fantastic and illustrate the friendship between these two, as well as showing, with humor and love, how a service dog helps people. The book also explains disabilities in a way children can understand. A great read for children and adults. This book's story and photos encapsulate difficult ideas in a very moving, clear way. A wonderful bed time story for all! Luis Montalvan continues his quest to tirelessly educate AND spread love! I love it!
Beautiful Story, Beautiful Photograghs
I just purchased my third copy of this book. After giving copies to my grandchildren, I had to have one for myself -- the pictures in this book are just as beautiful as the story is inspiring. The book is written as if being told by Tuesday, the service dog of Captain Luis Carlos Montalvan and documents the typical day in the life of this service dog. I recently attended a "Tuesday Tucks Me In" program with my grandson. It was a wonderful evening, and Luis and Tuesday kept the audience of both children and adults totally entertained and interested in their presentation.
Wonderful book from beginning to end...
I really love the whole premise, of Tuesday being the storyteller, and describing what it is like to be a Service Dog. You really can see how deep this bond is, between Tuesday and Luis. How they just know, what the other is thinking. Tuesday is always there, when Luis needs him and in return, that affection is shown so beautifully to Tuesday, by the way Luis takes care of him. This is creativity at its best, and I really enjoyed it! A job well done and beautifully illustrated.
Tuesday will tuck you in...to her heart.
This is the sweetest, most pure expression of the true bond between Service dog Tuesday and Luis, a brave wounded warrior. After struggling to find a way out of the darkness of his disabilities suffered during his service to this country, it took the deep soulful eyes of his beloved Tuesday to give him something to hold on to. Tuesday is so much more than a service dog to Luis though, and this book, told in Tuesday's voice, let's us in on a slice of their life together. The book is a great way for children to understand the important work of the harnessed service dog and why it's not ok to pet a working dog...but when the harness is off, Tuesday gets to frolick and play with all manner of friends. Adults will understand the unwritten words of a life of sacrifice from Luis and the caring, love and devotion of these two souls. Tuesday will tuck you in too. xxoo
A wonderful children's book about a soldier and his service dog
A wonderful children's book about a soldier and his service dog. The realty of war is so prominent now in our society. With many wounded warriors coming home and Veterans needing help. This children's book addresses those realities in a way that makes it a little less scary and a little more fun for children, even though we all know that it isn't always that way for those that come home wounded and hurt. It's so important in this day and age for children to learn about people with disabilities and how they can be helped, and this book surely does show that. Thank you Luis and all that have served. And thank you Tuesday, and all dogs like Tuesday, and your trainers for taking away some of the hardness in their lives when they come home.
simple tale/tail of the importance of psychiatric service dogs; well done!
Psychiatric Service Dogs(PSD) are a critical part of recovery for Veterans and other persons living with mental health issues. This simple and heartwarming look into Tuesday and Luis shows what a difference TRAINED SERVICE DODS are for people with a variety of needs. I'm hopeful that more stories like this are published to grow training programs for PSD's and to discourage the abuse of the "service dog title" to pets who though loving and helpful are not Service Dogs, and frequently create confusion about the rigorous training required to be a PSD. R other Service Dog.
Beautiful book
This is such a beautiful book that will be added to my library for my reading program. I take my golden retriever to read with children. This will be a great way to explain service dogs as well as disabilities. My dog is missing her right eye because of cancer so we often discuss how even animals have to adapt as well as people. It is well written for young children and the pictures are beautiful. My father also enjoyed it and he is a West Point class of 52 grad veteran that went to Viet Nam and Korea. It is such a great educational book on so many levels!
Who wouldn't want this adorable dog to tuck them in?
There is a reason why this book is now a top children's book and his name is Tuesday! What child, or adult for that matter, wouldn't want this adorable dog to tuck them in? Tuesday personally takes the reader along to see what happens in a day with Capt.Montalvan, from the time they wake up until the time they go to bed. The words are simple and the photographs speak volumes, and really help young readers understand what a therapy dog can do. Tuesday is a remarkable dog, friend, and companion to Capt. Montalvan - the love between them is heartwarming.
Educational and great for war families
I read this to my preschoolers and they love to see how Tuesday helps my cousin Luis through his day! They love to ask question's about Tuesday, and Luis and it is extremely educational as well. Definitely recommend especially if you are a military family with small children, this book is a MUST HAVE! Help's explain the daily struggles of a War Veteran, Luis Carlos Montalvan!
I'm fascinated by dogs.
This book is amazing. I know our children will understand his message, while enjoying his book. I am a librarian in a school for PK to second grade. I teach about therapy dogs and people with disabilities, especially disabilities that can't be seen. I will be presenting this book to my students very early in the school year. Thank you, Luis Montalvan for writing it and for signing my personal copy.
What a treat for anyone who looks in
This wonderful book is a fine inspirational piece for any age from the "Mom, read to me" group on to anywhere later in life. The photos are superb as is the mood and the sentiment conveyed. Luis and Tuesday's comment on the last pages add great background and a fine finish to this treat.
Uplifting Story
We purchased this book after Luis and Tuesday visited our local library. I got it especially for my granddaughter who loves dogs. I thought this would help her to understand that a dog isn't just a dog or a pet, but a dog can be many things to many people. Truly an inspiring story that lifts the heart and restores the faith that life can often whittle away at. Luis and Tuesday have a story to be told and read over and over.
If you love dogs and the way that they can change your ...
I have not read this one yet, but I have read "Until Tuesday". If you love dogs and the way that they can change your life, you'll like it, too. Veterans that deal with PTSD and need a companion/service dog I think will like the story as well. Luis does a great job of telling the story of his beloved companion and how a "dumb animal" can make a huge difference in your life.
Touching pictorial book
I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this book, I just knew I was so deeply moved by his first book, Until Tuesday that I had to order Tuesday Tucks Me In. As people read this book they should remember that a picture is worth a thousand words. Some of those pictures brought tears to my eyes and some a smile. For some reason, the one that touched me the most shows Tuesday resting his head on Luis's foot, and you can see Luis's sock with a picture of a retriever and the bottom of his cane. What a wonderful, whimsical man this brave, tall wounded warrior is. Thank you Luis, another wonderful insightful story into your life recovering one day at a time.
Tuesday can tuck you in, too.
This is a good book to read and show to the kid at night, tucking him or her in. But, if one has read the Until Tuesday book, this is especially a warm and fun book and beautifully photographed, too. Luis Montalván's saga of descending into near tragedy from the traumas of war through his being healed by loving a dog (and writing) needs to be shared. How much better life would be if more of the wounded warriors could or would find the right pet! Sancho
Love this book and ALL his books
I love all the books that follow Tuesday. This is amazing. PTSD is a tough subject but this is a light hearted story of the support in everyday life that Tuesday brings. It's so cute and the pictures are so beautiful. A great way to teach your children also about service and working dogs.
TUESDAY TUCKS ME IN
'Tuesday Tucks Me In' is a most heart warming story of how humans and canines connect. We see this in our own experience with our Golden Retrievers who, over the years, have been therapy dogs. I recommend that children watch a video clip of Captain Montalvan and Tuesday before reading the book as it will lay some groundwork for them. The interview with David Letterman is particularly good for this purpose as is the Captain's interview on the 700 Club. A great book for children and adults. Adults should also read 'Until Tuesday'. John Gerhard
The Power of Human & Pet Bonding!
I liked this book very much, because it exemplifies, the powerful connection between humans and pets. It shows that sometimes, it can be the difference, of life or death, because of the emotional support, given by a pet. Tuesday is an amazing friend! I believe this is why pets play such an important part, in the lives, of their human parents.
Beautiful, spirited, and so educational!
A MUST read! Tuesday tucks me in brought smiles, laughter, and tears. Such a beautiful read! I also suffer from PTSD and Until Tuesday, Montalavan's first book, changed my life forever. I was able to finally show my family what happens, and they were finally able to understand. Now, I can read this gorgeous book to my nieces and nephews so they can understand why their aunt is different sometimes, and how my dog in a little red jacket helps me. Everyone should read this book. It is so educational and full of love!!! And of course the bonus of seeing Tuesday on each page!
Two paws up for Tuesday Tucks Me In!
A book for children, Tuesday Tucks Me In is written with a bit of humor and a lot of education. The beautiful photographs will draw people of all ages into the pages. Children as well as adults, often wonder what a service dog does. This enjoyable book explains the importance of a service dog's work and the bond between the dog and disabled person. The photographs and words perfectly convey the love between Tuesday and Luis. I highly recommend Tuesday Tucks Me In. Judi Knispel
Golden Love: Best Friends Forever
"Tuesday Tucks Me In" is an amazing book of photographs, written for children of elementary age but ageless in its appeal for compassionate adults as well. It is a compilation of some of the daily activities of a devoted service dog, Tuesday, written in his voice. His loyalty to Luis, an Iraq veteran of two tours, who came home wounded, is unconditional, as is their mutual love. In reality, Luis and Tuesday serve each other in such a heartwarming way that you will want to keep this book to read over and over for understanding the soul of a wounded veteran rescued by a handsome golden retriever. Tuesday and Luis are Best Friends Forever. As an advocate to further understanding of persons with visible and invisible disabilities, I believe this book should be in every public and private school library.
A Must for School Libraries
This book is a charming, yet important book for children and adults alike. The story is told through the eyes of Tuesday, the remarkable Service Dog for a wounded military Veteran, Luis Carlos Montalvan. It spells out the strong connection and bonding that happens between canine and human in a way that children can understand. My wish would be that all teachers, social workers, and places of work could learn and incorporate these connections in their daily activities with students, clients, and workers. Humans and canines are very much alike. Every school library should have copies of this book on their shelves.
Love this story!
I bought Tuesday Tucks Me for my 18 month old son. He loved looking at the pictures of Luis and Tuesday. I read him the story and at the end of it he gave both of them a kiss. The next day my 8 year old nephew was over. He was sitting on the floor reading the story. He looked up at me and asked if i would buy him the book too because he loved it so very much. Luis and Tuesday have such a remarkable relationship and it is just such an uplifting story. They are so lucky to have each other and share this bond. They are a remarkable team educating and advocating for others. Thank you Tuesday and Luis for sharing your life with the world.
A Great Dog/Man Story
Until Tuesday was a wonderful read, now with a friend who I hope returns it. I think I understand better how PTS can affect one, and certainly know now that only a subset of service dogs wear seeing eye dog handles. Tuesday Tucks Me In is a picture book that helps expand and reflect the bond between man and dog.
What a wonderful book! I loved it
What a wonderful book! I loved it! I read "Until Tuesday" first, which I also loved. I believe that service dogs are very important to our society, and Hurray for Luis Carlos M. for bringing this to our attention. I loved both books and if the author comes out with another book, I would immediately purchase it. I want to support someone who has tried so diligently (and successfully) to live life on his terms. Good job!
A must read for every child and child at heart
This book deserves a place in every classroom! Beautiful pictures and a story told from Tuesday's perspective are the perfect combination to teach children important lessons about love, respect, and acceptance. This book beautifully weaves the lighthearted personality of a cuddly golden retriever with the importance of his job as a service dog, his bond with Luis, and the sacrifice that our veterans have made to protect our freedoms. There is no other children's book that touches on so many important topics in an age-appropriate way - you'll smile all through the book, but never forget why Luis needs and loves Tuesday.

My son is 8, he struggles with fluency; they suggested having him read a book that he was familiar with over and over to improve his scores. His scores are above the expected level now...but we still read 20 minutes every evening. Tuesday Tucks me In is still his "go to" book. We have purchased several of these books to share in his school district. Luis and Tuesday are such an inspiration of hope and survival. Please give this as a gift at any age!
you'll love this book
If you're a dog lover, you'll love this book. Our organization bought this book and donated it to a public library. It's a great reading tool for young kids and the story is one that holds their attention. I would highly recommend this book.
A true delight: Tuesday Tucks Me In
After reading "Until Tuesday", I purchased this book to take with me to our Library's Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) gathering with local children. With my therapy dog, Miles, laying down on a blanket next each child, they read to him and other therapy dogs on Saturday mornings. It was such a pleasure to listen to them read this book and then ask such caring questions about Tuesday's job as a service dog. What a beautiful way to teach kids about empathy for another human being, another canine, and each other.
From a former pediatric OT
Tuesday Tucks Me In does a great job of explaining why a disabled veteran might need a service dog and what service dogs do. It also helps the reader understand that persons with disabilities are a lot like themselves. Luis and Tuesday follow a morning and evening routine. They love, care for and look out for each other just like family members. Educational books like this will hopefully help reduce the the stigma and discrimination so many persons with disabilities experience.
A wonderful book for children and adults, too!
A wonderful book to explain to children what a service dog does for his owner - plus a little about an owner suffering from the effects of war, PTSD. Good for adults as well. Very nice pictures!
Four paws up!
What an endearing story from the perspective of Tuesday, a Golden Retriever service dog. Luis Carlos Montalvan shows through wonderful photographs and simple language a day in his life with his best friend and service dog. From the minute he wakes to the night time prayer that tucks him in, this story shows how Tuesday helps Luis cope with PTSD. It also shows the genuine love between the two. I have also read Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him. I highly recommend this book if you'd like to read the story of Fmr. Captain Luis Carlos Montalvan and how he came to know and love Tuesday.
Love our soldiers and love Goldens/win-win for me.
I am constantly amazed at what blessings we take for granted. A book like this reminds me of the sacrifices of the men and women in uniform and what wonderful creatures dogs really are. I will read this little book over and over again and get teary each time. Now I'm gonna go hug my Golden who just happens to be MY best friend as well. If your heart needs a little warming, buy this little book. You won't be sorry.
Great book and photos about how Tuesday (a Service Dog) helps his Soldier (Capt Montalvan)!
This book brings me great joy as it gives us a look at how much Tuesday does to help his Soldier (Capt Montalvan) every day. With so many Service Dogs helping all kinds of people, it helps to learn about what they do - and this book with the wonderful photographs does that. I would encourage reading the first book about these two called "Until Tuesday", also at Amazon.
Once i ordered their book and their story i fell in love with them
I discovered Luis and Teusday a few years back on Facebook. Once i ordered their book and their story i fell in love with them. I even kept up with their journey. Luis will be deeply missed. I wish Tuesday the best as he continues his journey.
Saddened by author's death
I was saddened today to learn that this author, who was my facebook friend, has taken his own life. I feel so bad for the dog!
Unexpected content but well enjoyed
Haven't seen the book so was unaware it contained more pictures than text but it proved a big success with my 9 year old grandsons - I also bought Until Tuesday which my son enjoyed - he currently takes ECAD dogs regularly at weekends so this was of real interest.
Wonderful!
This book is perfect for kids of all ages. As a teacher, I know it is important to teach children about life. This book brings in a beautiful service dog and a heroic soldier to help us do just that! The pictures and description of Tuesday's job is presented well! I am looking forward to sharing this story with my students. I also can see how it can be used in many lessons in the classroom. Keep the books coming, but most of all keep sharing your story! Amy Welch
You hit this one out of the park, Luis and Tuesday!
I bought one for me and one for my grandson. This is a wonderful book for children to understand the role of a service dog. Now maybe the children can explain to their gawping parents why the man is getting on the bus with his dog.
Book for young readers
Book is for younger readers than I purchased for. Book would be good for Second graders. I purchased the book to give to a fourth grader that is the only reason for my low rating.
loved his Tuesday with Tuesday book and even got to ...
I'm a big fan of Luis Carlos Montalván, loved his Tuesday with Tuesday book and even got to meet him and Tuesday in person. This book is great for children, it helps them understand the concept and appreciation for service dogs.
Heartwarming Book!!
Tuesday Tucks Me In is heart warming on so many levels. The bond between Luis and Tuesday jumps off the pages via the beautiful pictures.Children and adults can learn from their amazing friendship. In this impersonal, technical world we can all stop and see what is most important in life....love, respect and friendship. It is amazing how a dog can literally change your life and make your world so much brighter. Tuesday will teach children how to love and nurture someone. It will also educate them on the benefits of a service dog in treating those with PTSD. I am sure if you buy this book you will fall in love with these two like I did and your heart will be warmed <3
Delightful!
This is such a heartwarming book. Made me smile with each page I turned and read. The photos are - absolutely priceless and beautiful. I just love the one of Tuesday waking Luis up. I know how that feels! "Tuesday Tucks Me In" is pure love from beginning o end. The love in both their expressions towards each other just made me feel so good. I was going to give it to my grandson, but instead I am keeping this copy and buying another one for Junior.
Sweet story
I purchased this book as a Christmas gift for my grandson and read it to him that day. He is 8 years old and wants to become a Special Forces soldier when he grows up. He also has a Golden Retriver. He liked the book very much and I did too.
Love this story
I absolutely love Tuesday tucks me in, my son who is 4 can understand it, and loves it. As a fellow veteran this story does a great job explaining the day in the life of a returning Vet and the struggles and pains of everyday life. It also shows the wonderful healing powers of service dogs and how much they help their person throughout the day and even through the night. What a wonderful bond between human and dog.
Great Book!
I loved Until Tuesday, and I was thrilled to see that Mr. Montalvan had written a children's book. It is a beautiful book. The photographs are clear and bright. The prose is simple and has humor. I'm really looking forward to giving it to my great niece, although there's a part of me that wants to keep the book for myself.
Can Tuesday Tuck ME In?
My six year old loves this book and I don’t mind reading it! Very cute and touching story.
For Chidren and others
What a great way to introduce children to a service dog especially the child of a wounded warrior. Might also be appropriate for Soldiers/Marines who have blast injuries with TBI to see what comfort and direction a service dog can give them. Recommend highly!
I love Tuesday
For a dog lover and one who appreciates those who serve, this book is pretty darn good. Photos are well done and the daily activities stated for elementary school children to easily understand. I also purchased Luis's first book, Until Tuesday. I liked it too. I look forward to reading Tuesday Tucks Me In to my grandson!
Wonderful book, terrific companion to Until Tuesday
Wonderful book, terrific companion to Until Tuesday. This is a great way to introduce service dogs and what they do to children ages 4 to 8, but it is interesting for anyone to read, and the pictures are what make the book. Tuesday is a beautiful dog, and Captain Montalvan's story is inspiring. The two together make powerful combination, and a lasting impression not soon forgotten.
Great read
Great story of a troubled Veteran and a very special animal that always had his back.
Heartwarming and Touching
Absolutely loved Tuesday Tucks Me In. I felt like Tuesday was sitting right next to me telling me HIS story. This book truly shows how important Tuesday is to Mr. Montalvan. The pictures are so touching. You can feel the bond between man and dog. I think its important to expose the younger generation to the various forms of PTSD and how a service dog is one way to help. This is not just a children's book, adults will enjoy this as well.
We have Goldens & he understands the love of a dog and loyalty to a true friend
Our grandson loves this book! We have Goldens & he understands the love of a dog and loyalty to a true friend.
Highly recommeded
Luis is compassionate and caring. He wants children to understand what it is like to have a service dog as wonderful as Tuesday! He avoids the "scary" parts of his time in war in this book but makes it clear that he needs Tuesday so very much for so many things.
A very special book!
I had high expectations for this book having met Luis and Tuesday in person. The book exceeded my expectations! The beautiful photographs made the dog come alive. I read the book to a fourth grade class after we had discussed service dogs. The book helped them develop an appreciation for the work of service dogs as well as increased empathy for people who need service dogs. I'm going to share this book with others.
Incredible story of man and service dog
This book is a great look at service dog Tuesday and her loving master Luis. Luis, a veteran suffering from PTSD and injuries, was able to get Tuesday, a beautiful Golden Retriever, as a service dog. The book is told in Tuesday's voice. Shown in beautiful photography, they work, and play together in New York City. This book is a wonderful look at a very special relationship. This is a wonderful true story for all children and child at heart animal lovers.
Special Angels
Our Golden "Ruby" is a Therapy Dog and we see first hand how they touch and help people in hospitals. Whether she is laying her head in an outstretched hand or doing a trick to make them smile Golden's are special.
Four Stars
Such a great book for my elementary school students. Piggy backs well on the adult book version Until Tuesday.
Awesome book!
"Tuesday Tucks Me In" is a great book! I read Luis' first book last year and was so impressed with him and Tuesday; and their passion to educate the public on the importance of service dogs and understanding combat trauma. This heart-warming narrative speaks directly to the reader, both children or adult. I bought this for a friend with a service dog, and it made a wonderful gift. Thank you Luis and Tuesday!

Amazing! The children I have gifted this book to LOVE the pictures throughout and the younger of them love the rhyme. The older kids like the more detailed information at the end. The photographs throughout are beautiful! What a great way to teach children about service dogs for Veterans. Great job, Luis!
Nice book.
Christmas present for one my grandchildren and he loves the story.
Let Tuesday help tuck you in....
What a wonderful book.....Tuesday Tucks Me In shows Luis and Tuesday in a typical day, doing everyday normal activities, together. I loved Tuesday in the bathroom stall, as well as Luis' socks..... Read it, you'll see! The pictures are stunning and their bond is amazing. Kids, dogs, and grown-ups will all love reading this book, or having it read to them. So inspirational, so bursting with love.....
Warms my heart
Tuesday Tucks Me In is a story about love and healing told through the voice of Tuesday, Luis' best friend and service dog. Their story is heart-warming, inspirational, and hopeful. Those who know the love of a golden understands the beauty of their souls. Their love and loyalty is healing. I've read this book many times and get the same response every time - feelings of hope and warmth. This is a great read for all ages. The last page brings tears to my eyes.

I have read this many many times and it still brings a tear to my eye. The bond between the owner and Tuesday is heartwarming. Told from the dog's point of view....it is an excellent book to read to children to open their eyes to loyalty and how much these war heroes deserve our respect.
So adorable!
I've read "Until Tuesday" which was also awesome. This book make me giggle like a little girl as I followed along how Tuesday, in his own words, took care of Luis...so sweet! Can't wait for my grandson to arrive so I can read it to him.
Terrific Tuesday
This was an awesome look into the everyday life of a service dog. I can't wait to share this with my 5th graders next school year. The photographs are outstanding. Tuesday is quite photogenic. Children and dog lovers of all ages will like this one.

Yes. I liked it very much. I read it and will give it to the third grade teacher at the school our church has adopted. It will be a good way to education children about service dogs and people with brain injuries.

Sharing a happy face, an internal smile, & the awareness Tuesday has given joy, peace, love, & more meaning to life.
A beautiful book to share.....
Tuesday Tucks Me In has beautiful pictures and text for sharing and reading out loud to children and people of all ages! It explains the relationship of best friends and the love and bond between Tuesday and Luis in easy words but imparts excellent information to younger children! As a librarian I will be reading and sharing this book as part of my Summer Reading Program Paws To Read!
