Trust Without Borders: A 40-Day Devotional Journey to Deepen, Strengthen, and Stretch Your Faith in God

Life has been extremely difficult on all levels for several years now, and I'd reached a point where I had only the slightest, fraying thread of faith left. This in spite of trying as hard as I could to do all the things a "good" Christian is supposed to do. Then, I saw Arabah Joy's book on trust and began reading. And reading. It's written in bite-sized chapters to be a daily devotional, but I couldn't stop reading. She writes powerfully and honestly about trying to be a Christian in the middle the messiness of life, and somehow manages to inspire & re-energize readers to raise their sights, minds, & emotions to Christ instead of becoming overwhelmed by life's stresses & hardships. She knows her Bible well and chooses excellent, often lesser-cited scriptures to support her points. She includes some exercises which seem simple and yet were powerful enough to restore a good amount of my trust in God. I've reread it multiple times, and several points have stuck with me and continue to help me make fundamental shifts in my faith in God.

An excellent devotional you can pick up and put down at any time. It's unsequential. So far every single story or devotional has spoken to me and helped. Seems like the writer has experienced some of the same things most people have in their faith journey, yet found in Christ a way to overcome and share the way to succeed. Each day is a short read, so it doesn't take too much time.

This book came to me and helped me through some difficult times. Each day is a new and inviting story filled with good Godly advice and truths. I know this is a devotional but once I started reading I couldn't put it down and read it straight through in 2 days (instead of 40). I have often shared the truths I learned in this book with others and find them to be helpful to me in my own life too. I highly recommend this book to anyone whether you are experiences doubts in your walk with God or not.

This devotional is for everyone; see all need to live in trust without borders in this world. Arabah Joy gets to the heart of it in each selection. Great to read in order or just open up to one. This is one I will come back to many times.

I happened across this devotion and am so glad. I've done a wide variety of devotionals and small group studies including Beth Moore, Joyce Meyer, Priscilla Shrier, and others. This devotional will dig deep, bring spiritual truth, and is profoundly strengthen your scriptural basis for trusting God at His word. The author presents you an opportunity to walk through the issues we all face as she walks them herself. Very real and beautifully done.

Well written, this devotional focuses on expanding a believer's faith in practical daily applications of scripture. Her personal stories are on point and heart touching.

As a fellow missionary I appreciated the author's candid way of sharing portions of her inner journey of faith and trust in the daily taking up the cross and following Christ.

I'm on day 39 of this 40-day devotional and I'm sad because I only have 1 day left! I've read many devos over the years and this is one of my absolute favorites. Arabah Joy truly gets the faith journey and she has done a great job of weaving together the challenges we face in life (through her personal life stories) with the trust He calls us to and the joys found in Him!

This book is excellent, and requires that you go through it at three or four times or maybe even more. The illustrations and examples are so aptly written, you need to go through it a number of times, to let in soak in, let it marinate into you. The author is genuine in discourse and her expression of her need for building her relationship with God and each reader can identify her stance as their own and embrace her responses. Definitely recommend to others, have Ben already.

This was an easy to read, but also very thought-provoking devotional. My heart needed to read these daily thoughts about keeping my trust fixed on Jesus.

I am enjoying Trust Without Devotional on my Kindle. AJ has been an inspiration to me for years and this is the first book of hers I have gotten. I love the stories.

Not only do I love the way Arabah Joy beautifully weaves together words, I also love her heart for God. In this devotional, she is open and honest about how messy and yet still beautiful our faith walk can be. She shares from her own everyday grappling with trusting in Him as a wife, a mom, a daughter, a missionary - offering up hope and wisdom she has gathered along the way. Precious nuggets of truth I am grabbing hold of for my own walk with Him. So glad she decided to share her journey - it has definitely enriched my own.

This book is AMAZING the Author has a beautiful way of telling stories to illustrate Faith and Trust in God! Highly recommend it. It is a keeper I will read over and over again and share with friends and groups!

It's supposed to be a 40 day devotional, but there's no reason you have to take 40 days. It's a good thing too -- I couldn't stop reading! The stories she shares are so interesting and inspiring. They made me think "That's not that different from my life. I could step out in faith that way too." It was inspiring, but attainable. Would recommend.

The real-life experiences she shares in this book are what make it so impactful and relatable to our own lives. No fluff. Just meat and nourishing food for the soul.

I love this book. The author is honest, vulnerable and a great storyteller. She inspired new ways of considering scripture and its application in my life. I love it so much I have already given it as a gift to 10+ people.

Trust without Borders is a vulnerable, touching and emotional walk with lessons learned from real life experiences living in another culture, raising a growing family, as mother, wife, student and woman wanting to walk closer to her God. I highly recommend this 40 day devotional, both my husband and I where deeply touched!

I'm so glad I took the time for this book. I genuinely thank the author for being transparent and sharing her own journey. Who doesn't need constant reminders of the truths we already know, but seem to 'forget' when we need them most. This has been both encouraging and convicting. I bought the ebook, but plan on getting a physical copy so I can read again while highlighting and making notes in the margin. This would make a wonderful gift!

I "stumbled" across this book at just the right time and it took me to the next level of trusting that God loves me and is for me and can be trusted always and in every circumstance. This book, coupled with the 40 Promises resource has helped me to stop worrying whether or not God and I are "ok". I am forgiven, my debt has been paid in full, and I am at peace with my God.

I discovered Arabah Joy through a link from another Bible teacher whose blog I read. I love her honesty, insights, and style of writing. The book keeps the daily living out of trusting God front and center. She is a captivating writer. I have also enjoyed her mini Bible studies from her website.

This is by far the best Christian devotional book I have ever read! The author takes you along on her journey as she searches and learns about what it means to truly trust God. I love how the author is authentic in her writing. This is a book I plan to purchase as gifts for others, it is a life changer!

I fought not to read more than one (okay, maybe two or three) of the daily "chapters." The author is refreshingly honest and real. The devotionals were actually ones that stuck with me and I really loved this book. I plan to read it again.

This book is helping me so much. I'm discovering so much more about myself and my relationship with God. I'm only halfway through and have repeated several days. I'm so excited to see where this journey to trust my Father leads me.

This book has been a balm to my soul. It is filled with grace and encouragement to trust God in a deeper way. I haven't read a devotional book in quite awhile, but this has been a blessing to me. The stories really resonate. If you want to have a closer, more trusting walk with God, I recommend this devotional.

This is one of the most meaningful books I have ever read. I continue to go back and re-read sections and have given copies to at least 10 other friends. Scriptures are weaved into real life applications - you will say, "yes, I've been there!"

Just purchased this book and am only on day 7's reading but I'm loving the writing style and insights of the author. Short devotionals that stick with me all day.

A great read! My pastor husband was suddenly taken home to be with Jesus a few weeks ago and I had ordered this book before then so it's great reading for trusting God and seeking His will!

What a wonderful journey! It was hard to put this book down. I even read parts of it to my children (7-8yo) and they enjoyed it as well. Trust Without Borders is a gentle way to dive deep into the Father's love and spread roots for growth in Him.

Without a doubt the best, meatiest and most relevant to me devotional I have ever read. I plan on buying many for gifts.

I am not usually a devotional person. I like me, God , my prayer journal and my bible. I bought this because I was interested in the 40 days praying the promises that Arabah offered for free (I think I saw that on Pinterest) and thought it might be beneficial. I received way more than I expected ! Each day's devotion impacted me enormously. I am even in a different stage of life than Arabah was in this writing , all my young people are 17 and over but God has given Arabah great insight! I wish I would have had this when my kids were young . It gripped me so greatly that there were days I couldn't read just one devotional but rather 2 or 3. She gets raw and real with our human feelings but then helps you to lift your eyes to our great , mighty and loving God!!!

Wonderful book - very good service

This is one of the best devotionals I've read and I plan on giving it as gift to others in the future. In the past ten years that I have been following the Lord there have been actually very few devotionals that I would highly recommend to others. After I read the preview I decided I wanted to read this devotional as I was doing 40 days of prayer. In the preview it seemed like it would be an incredible devotional, and it did not disappoint. She is open, honest, and real in way that is encouraging even if what she experiencing is heart-breaking. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is a mom with little ones as she speaks a lot about showing grace to children and gives some powerful examples. But even as single woman with no children, I absolutely loved this book and definitely plan on rereading it.

It's a keeper. Love it.

Just what I needed Thank you Arabah

This book was a little too right-brained for me. It's not that it's poorly written, it's just a little too flowery for my taste. As an autobiography or memoir, it isn't bad, but I expect a book that bills itself as a "devotional" to have a bit more "meat" in the way of Scripture reading and practical application. I would have rather the author mentioned her personal experiences as an occasional sidenote in order to make a point, rather than making them the main focus. Also, some of what was shared was waaaay TMI, in my opinion. I got weary after so many mentions of urine and green mucus and other gross things. I get it -- the author is trying to describe real life, which, if you are raising small children and/or living in a developing country, isn't always pretty, but still. Some things are better left unsaid. I got this book as part of the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle, which also included "Abide" by Elisa Pulliam and "Life Giver" by Lara Williams, both of which were better as devotionals.

Trust! We live in a world that is deficient of true, biblical trust. In Trust Without Borders, Arabah Joy takes the hand of the reader and gently leads them on a journey into the heart of Jesus. Not in a preachy, I've-got-this-thing-figured-out way, but rather as one who walks alongside, learning as we journey together. By trusting Jesus with our all, we can trust Him to allow those things into our lives that are for our good, and His glory. Arabah Joy uses beautiful stories of her own faith and trust journey to encourage the reader to reach out and grasp just a little more faith, just a little more trust, with each passing day. A must read for anyone desiring to break down the borders of trust, and fling themselves into the arms of Jesus with abandon.

Arabah Joy's honesty and authenticity is the perfect backdrop to her bold declaration that God is wholly trustworthy. Writing transparently about her own faith challenges strengthens my heart to hold fast to Him in mine. Using the Word of God and her own experience, she encourages her readers to leap with abandon into His arms, knowing He will never let go...even if we do. I'm so thankful for this book. I'm thankful for the short chapters, for the ways she draws us into the Scriptures each day, for her engaging writing style that captures the reader with its honesty and poignancy. More than anything, I'm thankful for her faith in Christ as she encourages us to walk with her into deeper faith.

I'm familiar with Arabah Joy's blog, so when I picked up this book, I expected spiritual insights that were both deep and practical, shared in a writing style that was transparent and enjoyable. I was not disappointed. This book verifies that Arabah is a woman who has a relationship with Christ that is real and authentic, in a way that impacts every aspect of her life. Reading Trust Without Borders will inspire you toward that kind of relationship, as well, and if you already have one, it will prompt you to plunge deeper with Him. Time spent reading this book is indeed time well-spent!

We all struggle with trust. In this beautiful devotional - Arabah takes us on a journey to do one of the hardest things - yet it is the most needful. We must trust Jesus with all that we are - and all that we have. She does a beautiful job of leading us on this journey. It is a beautiful journey of faith and trust and I think it will be enjoyed by all!

I really enjoyed this book, especially because Arabah Joy writes it with a great deal of transparency. I think most women can find themselves in at least one of her devotionals, and in particular mothers. But most of all, I love the central truth that she brings out. We can trust the Lord wholly, because he is wholly trustworthy. He may not always work in the way we expect him to, or answer as we wish, but he's always working for our good. I thank Arabah for bringing this truth out in such a sincere and convincing way! A highly recommended book for any needing this reminder! I won this book on her website--and what a great win it was!! This book helped me immensely during a very hard time of deepening my trust in the Lord. I am so thankful that I ordered this book and read it. Quite honestly it took me only 1 week to read it because I just could not put it down. I was able to dig in deeper and pray over the devotionals that spoke to my wounded heart.

This book is filled with powerful stories that direct our attention to an even more powerful God. Arabah teaches us that we can trust God’s intentions, and when we learn to do that the spark of faith becomes a flame. A flame that cannot be contained, a faith that cannot be quelled! Her writing challenged me to develop a deeper understanding of who God is so that I can trust Him even in the dark. When blackness closes in and I fear that I’ve lost my way, all I need to do is put on my faith-vision goggles and look to the One who is never without sight. I would recommend this 40-day challenge to my closest friends. It is a practical resource that was easy to read and apply to my own life.

This is a great book for young mothers all over the world, especially those with special needs children. Arabah Joy shares what it's like being a missionary and mother in a foreign country. You will experience along side her the day to day challenges of living and raising a family among people of a completely different culture and language. She shares her heartaches and triumphs as well as her own empowerment of faith and hope in Christ. Her sometimes riveting yet inspiring writing style will compel you to explore your own belief system on a more personal level, which in turn may cultivate a genuine understanding and relationship with Jesus Christ rather than continuing in religious rhetoric and ritual.

I so love Arabah's writings, they touch the deep places of faith. Beautiful devotional, some nights I had to read a few extra days!

This has quickly become my favorite devotional. Arabah's words cut right to the heart. I can truly say that my relationship with God has been strengthened and my understanding of who He is has deepened in such a way that I will never be the same again. Read this.

I never came across a day where I didn't learn something. I felt God speaking to me more than once. I didn't find it to be "preachy" or judgemental. Just an offer to get to know the Jesus she knows. I accept.
