I have had this product in my cart for about a year. It is presently 75% off so I thought it was a steal and had to get it. I am glad I did. After watching and listening to the author read some of the poems from the book I had to buy it. Delivers. I liked it. It is witty and comical but you have to be aware of politics in America today or at least the last 5 years to get the culture-specific comments. Very easy reading. I highly recommend it.

Democrats tended to have scandals about sex and GOP had them about cash.. I prefer the first because it does not affect my taxpayers pocketbook. However we have never had an ethicless, immoral, paranoid sociopath desecrating the oval office before. I don't worry about myself. I've had a good life. I worry about my grand babies. When I learned that the multi-talented John Lithgow had written a follow-up to his first book of satiric verses, Dumpty, I absolutely could not wait to get Trumpty Dumpty Wanted A Crown into my hands. Once I did, I couldn't put it down. What a refreshing contrast to all of the chaos and bellicose exchanges of our current political environment! Lithgow delivers a masterful skewering of all things Trump while making it clear that there are still thoughtful, caring people in the world who are finally beginning to point out that the emperor has no clothes. Lithgow's delightful illustrations are almost (almost!) more enjoyable than his verses, but I relished both. Buy this one in hardcover for your Trump-averse friends, because it's a treasure they'll want to keep. Even the paper it's printed on is a pleasure beneath the reader's fingers. This book may get me through the coming election.

Many, many laughs!

Whatever side of the fence you are on, if you like political humor, and, poetry, this is a good read.

I love Dumpty! The poems and drawings are pure genius. I keep it close by. It helps subdue the agonizing emotions when Trump's voice, his face, or worst of the tweets defile the Fake News networks. It is, however, a stepping off point. Lithgow has a gift we seldom see these days - true political satire executed flawlessly in verse and drawings. Trumpty Dumpty leaves its predecessor in the dust. I laughed out loud as I savored the drawing at the end of the introduction. I couldn't stop when I flipped to the last page to see how it ends. I truly hope this is the penultimate volume in the series.

I loved the whole series. Good for a giggle.

The book really made me laugh. It also made me cry at the same time by pointing out how totally corrupt Trump and his cronies are. I had managed to block out a lot of these blots on American history, but this book brought them back to the forefront. Fortunately, the entertainment value outweighs the sadness factor. My only complaint about the book was that it was too short. It could have been 10 times longer and still not covered all the many ways Trump has screwed up and screwed over America and its citizens.

John Lithgow doesn't miss a trick and never misses a beat. His poetry hits the mark with the accuracy of a surgeon's scalpel, yet flows with a Shakespearean knowledge of rhythm and rhyme. The poems are best when read aloud; but be sure to read the notes following each poem. While Lithgow is known as a consummate actor, who knew of his artistic ability. His pen and ink illustrations are absolutely second to none. Hang on to this book. It is destined to become a priceless piece of history.

I wolfed it down and laughed and cried why couldn't there be more inside, you will be as pleased as I when you give this book a try.

It's a hair on the pricey side for us who make up the lower middle class but "HEY"! we really need to laugh in this crazy political day and age. The artwork and poetry (such as it is - doggerel is perfect for the topic) is fitting for our difficult times. These are anti-Trumpian triumphs of rhymed couplets, illustrated by actor John Lithgow. I purchased the book to support Mr. Lithgow's wonderful effort. Dramatic readings by Lithgow and other like-minded actors are available on YouTube, and worth watching. The illustrations are wonderful. Kudos!

I've always like Lithgow, and he shines in this one, although after the first five or six, his point gets a little old.

Now that he is on his way out, it’s easier to laugh at the Train Wreck.. Includes hysterical, yet memorable, poems about Elaine Chao, Mike Pompeo, and too many more. . I like both the Trumpty books John Lithgow wrote, but the 2nd one nails it! I’ve bought 3 of them. 2 for gifts. It’s nice to be able to laugh in what seems to be endless dark times. It is a good reminder of a fraction of the atrocious injustices and lies that have taken place and who the main players were. I highly recommend this book!!

Its not fair that John Lithgow should have this additional talent as well. The drawings are fresh and spontaneous. The words are perfect for the Trump era we suffered through. I was given both volumes as presents and have now bought more to give as gifts. If Lithgow had failed in acting, he would have made it in literary and illustration talent.

I loved this book. I read John Lithgow's first Trump book Dumpty, and found it entertaining and clever. This one is even better. He can take even minor incidents from the Trump administration and accurately set them to hilarious poetry. Each poem is followed by details of the actual incident. I would recommend this book to anyone who would not mind a lighter look at Trump and his administration.

This may be the best book of poetry I’ve ever read! Lithgow gets it right in every poem. Fun to read, and in many cases it brings back memories, since things have changed at such a rapid pace in the last four years, he reminds of the chaos we have lived through. I read this in one sitting of about an hour!

It’s a book, so I used for reading! That said, it’s not for the surviving Trump supporters in your life! Lithgow skewers Trump & his administration in verse and includes context in case the latest distraction has caused you to forget earlier ones. He even rhymes “sharpie” with “harpy”! Page 40. Provides soul saving humor in this darkest hour😀

Thoroughly enjoyed the brilliance of John lithgows satirical poetry. Two friends gifted this volume to me and I couldn’t be more pleased to pass one on to another friend who loves it as much as I do. We throw out refrains randomly. It’s so much better than primal screaming!

Mr. Lithgow's second book of verses is well worth purchasing. I can chuckle and laugh all day! At the same time he exposes some unknown , worrisome situations(such as Mitch's wife Elaine Chao's stocks in road paving and she was Transportation Secretary!!!). I love to rhyme and Lithgow does it with charm and wit.

I HAVE ANOTHER BOOK BY THE SAME AUTHOR. HE HAS A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR AND WRITES A JAUNTY RHYME. THIS BOOK IS SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR SO THAT MAKES IT MORE SPECIAL. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A SECOND EDITION, ALTHOUGH I CAN NOT FIND ANY THING IN THE BOOK THAT INDICATES THAT.

Great gift for anyone who's looking to have a good healthy laugh in these challenging times. I can't believe John Lithgow did the illustrations!. He's truly talented and a great writer. I hope to see more books from him. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK JOHN!!!

I saw an interview with John Lithgow talking about this book. Mr. Lithgow has managed to capture in verse and his own illustrations the essence and horror of a portion of the Trump presidency. It was very helpful to have each verse accompanied by a short synopsis. I enjoyed this book very much.

John Lithgow is amazing. Incredibly well written, funny and also educational. Learned about things that I didn't know had happened. Have always loved Lithgow, am even more impressed with him after reading this book.

A quick read that provides 60 minutes of entertainment out of a horrific 4 year presidential term. Since Dumpty seemed to have nicknames for anyone in the spotlight, it is only appropriate that he have his own moniker, but there are so many to choose from.

John Lithgow's poetry is brilliant. The poetry has Meyer but it doesn't overpower the magnificence of the message. The annotations at the end of each poem are so useful, since we have had so many eye- rolling events in the past 4 years. Bravo, Mr. Lithgow!

This is a very witty work, but also informs the reader as to the transgressions that may have been forgotten due to the avalanche of the Trump administration's corruption. I also appreciated the layout, having had to learn the art and science myself. The layout and typography are excellent.

I love Lithgow's marvelous word craft. This second volume is just as trenchant as the first. I don't want to suggest that there is any downside to the defeat of the loser, Donald Trump, but if Lithgow loses his inspiration, I will miss his verse.

He hit the nail on the head! I think we can laugh about it now, and he made the verses funny, ironically, but at the time, I think as a nation, we were really hurting--still hurting.... Loved the illustrations, too!

As a word smith, it seems, John Lithgow truly beams. In verses most profound, He states, the POTUS has clowned. In spite of POTUS wanting that crown, Trumpty Dumpty MUST Fall down. Don't want to fall into Trumpty's moat? After reading this book -- go VOTE!

I have purchased 4 copies of this cheeky little book to give as gifts. The poems are clever and quite humorous. Each is accompanied with fun drawings as well as a brief history lesson of all that went on during Trump’s “reign”.

Enjoyed reading Trumpty Dumpty. Best was the Tiger poem. But it is all fun even without the beauty of perfect poetry.

I liked it so much I sent a copy directly to the WHITE HOUSE. Hopefully this will be the first book this president will read. If not, he can still look at the illustrations.

A book about the President of the United States shouldn't be this funny. The book contains creative poems and drawings by John Litglow that are really on target.

Had no idea John Lithgow was so talented on so many levels. If you are no fan of the "Trumpster" you will love and appreciate the wit and history told in verse.

Lithgow has used humor to clearly highlight Trumps ignorance and venality and mean spirited incompetence. Let’s hope there’s enough backbone left in our democracy to overcome this shameful time. A good read.
